SEE. once as a kid i managed to put both my feet behind my neck with basically no warmup because im very flexible! The only time my unathletic ass managed to flex on people in gym class is wrt to that. I can touch my head with my feet when standing no problem.

however. My mother has for real hypermobility issues so i think this might be bad actually. im not sure.

sometimes i wonder if theres an alt universe where i got really into gymnastics as a preteen and either got bonkers good at it OR was told to quit over joint issues

When The Sun Sets

After Sausage (unintentionally) calls on the help of witch Shelby, they meet up at Dawn. notes: oh dear god procrastination actually sucks im so sorry for not posting this part for so long but its here finally thank god. anyways, this part is in Shubble’s POV! There’s a lot of extra bits and rambling, because its.. well, it’s Shubble (no offense to Shubble). Also, me self-projecting onto Shubble with a lot of the rambling and some of the ways I deal with my ADHD stuff. linebreaklinebreaklinebreaklinebreaklinebreaklinebreaklinebreaklin Shelby stared at her communicator for a few seconds, as the reality of what she had just said she was going to do hit her. “Ohhh nooo.. oh boy! Oh boy, this isn’t good, why did I think this was a good idea, this was not at all a good idea, why’d I tell Sausage I’d help him kill the Warden, Tordus?!” The witch slightly rambled, looking down at her pale grayish toad, Tordus. Said toad croaked in response, which she huffed at. “I know, it’s my fault, he didn’t technically wanna kill the Warden, but if I do this, maybe the others will see what a great witch I am!” She responded, well, not like she understood the toad, but paused for a moment. “I... am a great witch. Yeah, totally! I-I just... wasn’t in the right conditions. Yeah! Those classrooms were way too stuffy anyways,” the golden eyed witch said, nodding, though it probably wasn’t a good thing that she had to re-affirm that she was a good witch to herself. She turned, quickly grabbing 2 very well enchanted bows from the near-by barrel (which was in the wall). She turned towards the door, glancing back at Tordus as noticing the look the toad was giving her. Sympathy? Pity? She was never very good with emotions. “Don’t look at me like that,” the witch started, waving a bow in his direction. “I’m doing what’s best for m- for the Empire’s!” She said, before quickly leaving and closing the door. She huffed quietly. What did that toad know anyway? The witch headed towards her shop, where she kept spare potions and her magic books, not bothering with the mud or how foggy the Evermore was. She was used to it (well, mostly, the mud could be really annoying something).

She opened the door to the purple mushroom shop.. building? She wasn’t too sure what she should call it. Anyways, she headed quickly up to the 2nd part (floor?) of the mushroom, grabbing some potions and putting them in a shulker box. Said potions, in order, were;

3 splash potions of weakness.

3 splash potions of slowness.

6 potions of regeneration.

4 potions of instant health (those sold quick, she was already low on stock).

And, finally, 6 potions of speed.

She ran those over in her head, nodding. The splash potions would be for the Warden, the others for her and Sausage. She paused for a moment, before grabbing a single fire resistance and drowsiness potion, and adding them both to the shulker.

Now, she checked the bows. Infinity, Power V, Unbreaking III, Flame, and Punch II. On both of them. Good, she thought, nodding again. The only problem might be the Warden’s sonic boom, but that’d come later. Now, she needed to grab her shield and head over to Dawn. Oh, and her magic book! She would need to make sure she knew what the wisps were as well.

Shelby huffed as she made it to Dawn, finally. She had horribly underestimated how long it would take, because she had no wings yet (not yet, atleast, she really hoped she’d get some soon), and she had no magic broom to fly on (but that was totally cliché, witches did not fly on brooms). She ran up Sausage, who had watched her approach, before stumbling slightly to a stop, and putting her hands on her knees as she caught her breath. She was not too horribly unathletic (believe it or not), but that was still a long run, and definitely got her out of breath

“Are you okay, Shelby?” She heard Sausage ask from above, but it didn’t really click that he had had asked a question he probably wanted her to answer, so she sat breathing heavily for about another minute, still catching her breath.

“Shelby?” This time, it clicked. “I- yeah... just... give me.. a second..” she trailed off, her breathing slowly returning to normal. She looked up to see Sausage handing her a flash- with what she could only assume to be water in it- to her, his eyes showing concern for the witch’s well-being. “You look like your gonna pass out, drink,” he offered, slightly motioning with the flask. She took it, nodding in thanks as she took a sip (yes, it was water). He spoke up after she had finished and handed it back to him. “Did you run, all the way here? From the Evermore?” “Ahaha, maybe? I didn’t really mean to, but I started off jogging, and then I realized I was taking a while, and you were waiting, so I started to run faster and I-” she was cut off slightly by a sigh coming from Sausage. Whether from her ramblings or what she had actually said, she didn’t know. She’d had one from both before. Her mind started reeling slightly as she spun a fidget ring on her thumb. “Sorry..” “It’s alright,” Sausage started. “I’m just worried about you right now, I mean, that was a long run. And the fact that you told me were gonna kill the Warden. And Gem, but more the Warden part.” She winced slightly, before nodding slowly.” Right, yeah, I did say that. Uhm, I mean, I have all the right things, I think. If we’re skilled enough we should be able to do this easily, right?” She tried to stay optimistic, and she took out a shulker box from her inventory, along with the two bows. She also took her book out. Sausage nodded, and the witch watched as he opened the box and looked at it. “We’re going to kill the Warden...” he paused, reaching in and taking out one of the regeneration potions. “With regen potions?” Shelby blinked, before she realized what he meant. “Oh! No, of course not, what silly goose would do that? We’ll use those for ourselves, along with the speed and health. We’re gonna kill him with the splash potions, and these,” she instinctively threw one of the bows at him, which he managed to catch, but not before dropping the regeneration potion, which she somehow managed to reach out and catch. How? She had no idea.

She watched his eyes widen as she presumably read the enchantments on the bow, putting the regeneration potion back and gently closing the box. “Wow, Shelby! How- where? When did you have time to enchant a bow like this? This must’ve taken quite a bit of levels.” “It did, but I did it! And I made two!” She triumphantly held the second bow up, grinning. She was basically vibrating with excitement. “Admittedly, it didn’t take too horribly long, it took like a day for each bow, with my blaze farm, it was mostly getting the books, but I got it done, and I brought my book so we can what the wisps are! Probably after, though.” The witch looked proud, before she paused. “Wait, where’s the City anyways?” Sausage looked up, still admiring the bow. “Oh, we could probably dig down right now and you’d fall into it, but there is actually an entrance so we don’t fall to our deaths.” Shelby nodded, yeah, not dying sounded great. Sure, there were infinite respawns in this world, but it took a lot out of you, and you still felt the pain of the death anyways. It was also incredibly taxing on your body, she had found that out very quickly (dang those blazes, am I right?). She quickly picked up the shulker box. “Welp, lead the way then Sausage! Let’s kill this Warden.” End part 3. end notes: WHOOO! god, this chapter took so long. i even planned the make it longer and have them kill the warden in this part, but i didn’t and posted this as a shorter version of what i did. part 4 will be them killing the warden probably, and there will probably also be a part 5! just.. gonna take a while, haha..

okay so i finished love, victor a while ago and i saw some other reviews and thoughts about it here so now i've got a pretty good list on my thoughts and feelings.

tl;dr: it has some issues, yes, but im gonna hold out and hope it gets better later on because the same thing happened with the first few eps, i wasn't that into it but then it got good, and nothing is ever great with the first season, because at that point we're getting used to those characters.

⚠️caution: spoilers ahead (im on mobile, i cant get an under-the-cut)⚠️

1. while a leah on the offbeat movie would have been amazing movie sequel (even tho i havent read the book yet, im just here for the wlw content) i am kind of glad we got this instead. mostly because I've seen book series where one movie was good, so they decide to do the rest, turn out bad (hunger games? divergent? percy jackson? the hobbit?) because so much was cut from the book-to-first movie writing, that other scenes wouldn't make sense to future movies if they had those in while cutting others. however, i am sad that i didn't get to make the choice of deciding whether what was cut was wrong etc. about future movies, but i'll take what i can get.

2. LGBTQ+ POC as a lead! that's amazing! as a ace/bi lantina that's close to home (it also is great that victor's from texas and so is ya gorl) and even then it's a mixed latinx family! i think pilar mentioned that at least the grandmother left Colombia and i saw the Puerto Rican flag in victor's room. also the salazar's are definitely from small town texas, even without knowing the name. (church barbeques, the use of the words "such a diverse city" in regards to atlanta)

3. a lack of actual lgbtq+ main storylines (so far) is kind of sad for a show like this. i was getting serious bi/pan vibes (as a lot of other people) from victor from the beginning, and when it was implied that victor was actually gay (while great, not shaming) as it has been brought to my attention, there was a lot of looking at a lot of straight relationship problems (please let us know more about benji)- edit 6/18: upon further consideration, it very much is a show about questioning your sexuality, I'm speaking about the other straight relationship issues, not mia and Victor's, its just the first season.

4. let us talk about cheating for a sec. never okay, in any circumstance. i feel sorry for mia that she saw victor making out with benji and the fact that he was doing any of that in the first place. victor made a choice to lie about the espresso machine and then kissed benji at the hotel and then when benji was fighting with derek, basically confessed his love and mistakes, then proceeded to makeout with benji after he broke up with derek, he built that grave and now he must lie in it. i get having feelings for a guy when you are in a relationship with a girl, and not accepting yourself enough to end that relationship but you really want it to work so you can be "normal". really, he should have told mia after he got back from the trip tho. i get being in highschool and doing stupid stuff and making dumb decisions, but for a show aimed at teens i think we should also remind said teens to make good choices even if we have to lose some realism within the character choices.

4. pilar and her decisions based off her brother pissed me off. because i honestly think that if she'd kept her mouth shut about what she knew or confronted victor about it in the first place we could have avoided a LOT of mess. did she not learn from snooping around her mother's business about her relationships that going behind a person's back doesnt end well? i did, however, like the pilar/felix friendship and was really kind of hoping that they'd get together during their coffee hangout (although now im glad that didn't happen) because they had a deeper understanding of each other. same with wendy/felix, although they do seem to much alike to work out in the long run but i still feel bad for wendy.

5. i don't know how i feel about lake and andrew, as people separate from each other. both seem to be the way they are from their upbringing (not confirmed why andrew is such an ass, but if his comment about his dad is anything to go by i bet it's got something to do with attention) but andrew seems to be less, idk, superficial? like he turned down mia because he didn't want to be a rebound, he didn't out victor, he actually stood up to early teasing the other dudes in the lockerroom were doing at victor (with teasing of his own obviously but that interaction had him on my nice list until much later). lake? lake. i honestly don't have an opinion of her? not really. i mean after hanging out with pilar i was hoping felix wouldn't go back to lake. is her name laken? i feel like her full name is laken. but they also played the "im only like this because my mom is really superficial about stuff and i do like the geeky nice guy but appearances" to "actually screw the norms im gonna makeout with him infront of the whole student body". i honestly thought she was gonna be bi because she kept hitting on mia when she was helping set up for her "date" and "big night" and there was one point where i saw her face fall at something mia said in relation to her and idk i was hoping she'd be bi (i figured early on that victor/mia wasnt gonna work and was like "oh mia/lake would be cute" but now idk.

6. okay on to the "big night", i have one word. NO. i didn't like the peer pressure into having sex. i agreed with felix when he said "your body your choice" but im also disappointed that victor made out with mia and when lake was talking to felix after victor left he didn't try to stand up for victor.

7. on to age gaps because i hadn't really thought of this at first. we'll start with benji/derek: WHAT GRADE IS BENJI?! because that determines my thoughts. if he's a sophomore that meant that he and Derek started dating benji's freshman year and thats eugh, don't do that, don't care if its a gay couple that shouldn't be happening because the maturity of the two characters is DRASTICALLY different (this is also a reason i am not a fan of cmbyn) but that would explain why they were so rocky. hoping the event at the gay bar was open to anyone not just for drinking, but not liking that fact that not one of the adults with victor were like: hey, this is a 16 year old, that's kind of wack when that dude was hitting on victor. that made me question some stuff. although i figure it might be making up for the lack of a gay bar scene in love, simon. but even then, in svthsa it's a restaurant with a bar that some people go to just to drink at, it wasn't just a bar, simon could be there but should NOT have accepted drinks from college kids, not matter how attractive.

8. i loved how bram and simon and their friends helped victor out though. i like how bram was like: hey i know my friends are a lot so here's a gay basketball league becaue there's no one way to be gay. i like how Simon talked about needing help himself just to help victor and how he said his friends were cool with it because it's a community. i like of justin(?) mentioned how being what his parents wanted was putting on a mask and pretending, not him doing drag. my favorite lines from that ep are: "and before you ask my pronouns are they/them/theirs" "'they're all gay? even that guy? he's like [insert really tall number]' 'yeah. you should see him in heels'" "or in simon's case: really unathletic" "and also because bram said that if i wore [the jean jacket] one more time he'd burn it". also katya was there. and the group hug too!

9. the back hand homophobia in relation to family is sad, but realistic and i sincerely hope his parents are kind enough not to be too harsh on victor because of it. anything they say that isn't positive or supportive of victor is bad but i hope they realize that there is more to him than that and that they can come to terms with it because it's not always that hard to be a part of that community and super religious. i am biromantic and catholic. and while there are some things i wont agree on my mom with, i know that it's more of a strike against God for kicking out gay kids from families than it is to be gay, because those parents were given trust by GOD to love those kids no matter what, and be good parents. so in the end, the parents are wrong and harmful and in the case of christians against jesus's teachings to love everyone.

10. this is fan speculation but dont think simon/bram are going through a rough patch? i honestly think it'd be a little cruel to the characters to have on of their actors be producing but then not have that relationship stay. and while it's not set in stone and obviously things happen in the real world, we have no proof script wise about there being a rift. all we have are bad photoshopped ig photos and scenes where two characters are never standing next to each other probably beccaue schedules never link up correctly for minor characters. who knows, maybe nick robinson was filming for a movie where is does have an even more major role than victor's gay guru in a series about victor so his filming time was around that. im gonna keep hope that things are okay.

11. that being said: we need more mainstream wlw content, because someone said it earlier and it really does seem to be catering to straight girls. i'll admit i did freak out when benji played call me maybe which is something i associated with him and victor but then kissed a guy because who wouldn't? we get that serenade and sweetness and then it'a ripped from us. but i did mellow out. if i flipped later it was because victor was making dumb decisions and i had to give myself a moment of compsure before i continued.

in the end, i'd say that there is a lot of growth this series needs to go through, but i also know that some people just aren't going to like it and i get that. but i also know that sometimes the best of stories have rocky starts, nothing is ever perfect from the beginning. and besides, further seasons are on hold until we figure out this covid thing, which means that you bet they're gonna be looking at our feedback. they saw what we thought before, they can do it again

i really did like it but we need more ACTUAL lgbtq+ relationship stuff from this series and better decisions on what we are teaching the younger generations, as well as what we want to focus on and realism within characters. i'm giving it an 8/10, because there is always room for growth and i really hope we get better things out of this than what we have been given in season 2.

p5r spoilers i just want to rant

p5r is legitimately such a fucking amazing game and i really didn’t think it’d break my expectations as much as it did

leading up to it, i was actually severely disappointed, thinking “oh, they’re just releasing it again” (which, i will admit that is kind of dumb but at least there was like 3 years between the releases instead of A Year like we got with p3fes) but thats not what im talking about

but then i still bought the game because im a persona whore. i always will be and just. god. p5 was already such a fun game despite its story flaws, but all the little changes to systems like baton pass not being locked behind confidants, the fact that baton pass keeps its level if you dont pass, status effects Meaning Something, traits for personas, and then. ooguh

The New Content. ubwbuwububufe. Miss Yoshizawa i love you SO much. she’s integrated into the story really well and, yes, she’s a very typical “im your junior and look up to you!” character, she’s a lot more than that when you get into the third semester. she’s a tormented person who legitimately just asked for help in the only way she felt she could, taking the place of her recently passed sister. and the buildup was really good too!

in the beginning they add new dialogue of sojiro mentioning the death of a 15 year old girl, which you’d either pass off or go “wait is kasumi like. a ghost.” then you meet kasumi and everyone calls her yoshizawa, even the game makes specific mention to make her name “student called yoshizawa” instead of just her last name, then, you find out her name from a student ID, instead of her telling you! then there’s how unathletic she is and how she’s not matching up to what everyone wants, which really only put her more in that rut of feeling like she wasn’t really kasumi, which she wouldnt know

and. oh my god. maruki. holy Shit. he’s SUCH a good character. i actually thought i got spoiled on the game bc there was a tweet that mentioned him using nyarlahotep to bring back his dead gf which was just. A Straight Up Lie. but i was still surprised with how he was handled! a man gets his own persona that actually works in the real world, which, thats a fucking concept from DETECTIVE NAOTO of all places! like, they ACTUALLY put it into a persona game! and his ideals are like. Sound. he becomes a councillor to find out what everyone’s problems are, and he just wants to make them happy. but, because he found happiness in his own actualization, he tried to push it onto others, like kasumi. but then he’s given a LOT more power than that due to yaldy getting Destroyed by the p thieves, and the will of the people passed onto him bc thats who the thieves believed in. and then there’s just. the heart wrench of seeing your team so, SO happy. everyone’s getting what they desired inside, and you basically take that away from them, but rightfully!

maruki was taking away everything those people had fought for, breaking out of their weak selves, helping others through intense physical pain, moving on from the loss of loved ones, while maruki simply thought the best idea was to go back to how things were. his ideals feel like the peak of law, he just wants things to be in perfect order, a perfect garden of eden, so to speak.

but he didn’t get that. and the thieves didn’t either. the coolest thing about his fight is the conversations he has with the party, trying to convince them that things were better that way, and while all of them say pretty optimistic stuff, akechi is the one who’s really interesting.

maruki was able to bring akechi back from the dead because he knew joker wanted to be with him. to keep his promise of the glove. but when confronted about this, akechi just says that he’s had enough of maruki’s “high and mighty bullshit”

which, thats the perfect way to put it! maruki is putting himself in the shoes of the benevolent god, not thinking about the ways these people have tried to better themselves, and akechi is the biggest icon of this. he gave his life to save the thieves and keep a promise to joker. and him just. coming back to life didn’t sit well with him, and he wanted things to be how they were supposed to

akechi is a tormented child, someone who was led off the path much too early in life, and ended up causing a lot of unnecessary bloodshed all for the sake of his own revenge. but he was given a chance of redemption, alongside two of his victims. if anything, he probably felt a burden seeing that, considering he and joker were the only ones who realized what was going wrong.

this game makes you REALLY think about akechi. all of his lines on the subway platform are fully voiced now, he has a new confidant that has you hanging out with him to deepen the rivalry, even ending with a minor boss battle with him, with him even stating that he Hates Joker, pointing the same pistol that he’d eventually use to try and murder him in just a few weeks time with

but, they add onto this even more. akechi has to work together with joker and sumire, and while he says its just for a common goal, there’s more at play. he saw what the team did at sae’s palace with their showtime attacks, and he took an opportunity to do one with joker, which no one had even done to that point. and it was impromptu! there was no communication between them, there was just a bond that allowed them to fight as they wanted. they’re perfect foils for eachother and man. this game really made me love the dude more than ever

is p5r my favorite persona game? i don’t know, but it’s changed my mind on p5 a HUGE amount, much more than the other rereleases of games did.

i highly look forward to what happens with this property, because royal lays out such a good set up for future events
