Ooo excuse to ramble about my thoughts

A little bit of context but I was someone still VERY much in the special interest zone when junior year was announced, specifically post-canon/Night Yorb era, there were a few fics around about it and specifically the idea of possessed Riz (which a lot of the fandom generally headcanoned) rlly intrigued me? SO I was vaguely planning to write something and then the completely unexpected happened, junior year was actually announced.

I LOVE “theoretically canon compliant” fics that fill in the blanks, so what we got is literally the best I could ever ask for, giving just enough to fill in with barely ANY specification of what actually took place.

So I really wanna write a fic following all the canon information we get on the summer! And specifically filling in all the blanks on how they get from A to B in terms of character development. Why is Riz so focused on keeping the group together and how/when does he learn magic (or at least get his magic items)? When does Kristen go from blanket burrito depressed into a gym bro who is feeling at distance with her goddess after such a beautiful ending in sophomore year? What does Gorgug’s following of his artificer interest for something other then his girlfriend look like? Or even silly stuff like Adaine getting all her little guys.

Also I wanna make those NPCs people. I hate to say it but there is some interesting dynamics with them and the bad kids, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is that I can’t really think of any other time Riz is particularly close to an NPC that he isn’t previously close to before the story (besides Ragh maybe)? Also whatever narcissus bullshit was going on between Fabian and Ecaf.

I just think it’d be interesting to try to bring them over cleanly from the finish in sophomore year to the general turmoil going on in junior year, aswell as trying to make the final battle a Satisfying Moment of a theoretical “season” while still making junior year feel good?

I don’t have a lot blacked out of Genuine Events yet, but I will probably be posting about this more soon, since I am gonna rewatch Junior Year combing through for every Night Yorb mention, and maybe asking for some opinions on things I may include.

So, from what i remember, he had to take a day off for a school thing? so he sent out a little email saying he was gonna be gone but he was gonna stop in to say hi. But for now we had a sub. Apparently dan decided to give us a quiz that day (the bastard) and he ended up popping in to say hi right after we were given said quiz- so he gave us a quiz on a day he wasn’t even there and then immediately distracted us taking it (unbelievable)

did not matter at all to dream me though lmao i just remembered being so excited to see him (for all of two seconds while gave snarky comments on the poetry we were reading and left) anyway the class devolved into chaos almost immediately. which to be fair i’m surprised hadn’t happened sooner. desks and chairs were everywhere, everyone was talking so loudly and moving everything around and i was just sitting in the middle of the room at my perfectly straight desk just like. i miss dan.

humble beginnings

johnny didn't find out that simon had a romantic partner until you two reached past your 1 year anniversary. it happened by pretty much chance too, here's how that went: simon forgot a file, you were off of work, you drove to base, you dropped off said file using your dependent clearance, he kissed your cheek goodbye right in the doorway of his office (masked), johnny turned the corner, and as simon pulled away, you looked at johnny who was desperately trying to seem busy on his phone as he walked away hurriedly. he was on the calculator app. simon and you gave each other a look and he nodded, knowing that you've been wanting to meet the colorful coworkers (and his closest friends) for a while now. you called him over, soap, as you've remembered, not everyday you see a mohawk. johnny freezes and turned around to see you beckoning him back to the frame of the office, and simon with his arms crossed, staring a bit annoyed actually. he was chill when you two introduced each other, not wanting to embarrass himself. his eyes lit up though, when he heard you invite him over for dinner. "lovie..." simon started out, a gentle hand on your back. you hit his chest with the back of your head playfully, "no, no, this will be good for us. first diner party in our new house" "HOUSE? HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD SOMEONE" he wanted to scream at simon's face, what came out however was a "i dinnae want to be a bother to you both" you insisted and he felt bad (but also curious), so dinner it was. simon took off his mask to please you and well, it was the comfort of his home. he rolled his eyes as johnny quipped that he certainly was "quite the opposite". from that day forward, it was the three of you against...manchester i guess?

children, the both of them

johnny tags along whenever you two are running errands on leave or on off days when they're both stationed at home. sometimes it's just you and him, or him and simon, or all three of yall. it started with a "we're having brunch, wanna join?" and now it's more like "we're going to the zoo, 9 am, get there" they make up the weirdest challenges and it feels like you're babysitting them both. simon, doesn't see it, he's a grown adult man, he's not silly. johnny says it's just in his nature like how it's natural that wombats poop in cubes (he walked ahead to read that tidbit and walked back to regurgitate it back at the two of you). challenges include: simon and johnny getting into a long debate about which is better, the smoked salmon crepes or the chocolate crepes, and when they mix them together, who can eat it all without puking? who can get to the butterfly sanctuary the fastest without running? who can find your favorite fish in the 30,000 gallon (113562.35 liter) fish tank WHILE holding their breath as if they were swimming in the water johnny telling you that his jokes are the best, simon butting in and using the "i'm your boyfriend, surely my jokes are better" card. you wanted to throw them both out of the car as they kept going back and forth with the most stupidest, tasteless, dad jokes ever. johnny saying he can drive better than simon. simon saying he can fly a broken helicopter and land safely. you're in the driver's seat. simon quipped that he would be a good artist compared to this shit's canvas (picasso) and johnny saying that his cat can paint better. simon said dogs can do it better. johnny said- you get the idea simon threw up after the 8th time on a rollercoaster. johnny threw up on the 9th. you, however, went through a nice scenic boat ride :)

quiet mornings

you three are closer than yall think. whenever they're both away, you always miss the noise they bring in the kitchen, trying to figure out how to make muffins or...popcorn. the three of you doing the daily wordle, crossword, and sudoku. "what's c for?" "c4 is an explosive, bonnie" "no johnny, what does C STAND FOR? fucking idiot..." mornings when you both are expecting johnny are never quiet, especially when he announces that he's there by knocking on the front door and saying "it's johnny!" when someone opens it. even when he's not there, you can at least hear simon's almost silent breaths if it wasn't for how close you two were. you miss them when they have to leave, you know it can't be forever, but damnit you missed the buzzing of them both. you don't miss, however, johnny and simon playing drunk monopoly.

i mentioned before i had another starry deuce idea when i posted my first adeu art, and that idea is this!! if you count, its been... 2 weeks??? sometimes i feel like drawing ideas immediately, and sometimes i dont

i did the lineart yesterday, and let me be honest with you. i was kyaaing and sobbing as i drew it (sorry for my brother who has to deal with me in general) like!!! guys!!! theyre so tender!!!! foreheads are touching!!! insert incomprehensible noises

anyways when i woke up today i was like. they are not close enough. they should be closer. so i adjusted (now when i look back at it, they can still be even closer sighs)

now onto painting!! im pretty sure if i was streaming, you guys would be losing your minds when you see me accidentally moving the painting layer. the whole hodgepodge of color moves around (fondly remembering that time my friend on discord gasped when they saw that. tho they also paint on minimal layers too lol)

i paint on top of all the lineart and base colors (on a separate layer). sometimes i use multiply and hard light layer to get the colors for me to paint with, other times i just randomly pick and hope for the best. whenever im painting im in the constant mood of "fuck it, we ball"

all in all i had a fun time painting this!! still feel surreal i finished this in 2 days after weeks of letting it ferment lmao 突然间很冲动 <- suddenly felt motivated(?) also i have one more adeu idea! this time its a comic hehe
