worst way to start my new year, thanks. i have a lot of things to say about these companies but i'm tired and just keeping it focused to the pin side of things for this one. do not ever buy pins from these companies, literally ALL of them are stolen from small artists like me. if you want to buy enamel pins, check out etsy, and artist's personal websites and shops! (though even Etsy has some bootleg pins that ship straight from china, so tread carefully…)

Every pin I've designed is, thus far, EXCLUSIVE to my etsy. if you find it anywhere else, it's been ripped off! and once these stupid bootlegs pop up, it's basically a never ending game of whack-a-mole trying to get them all taken down...

oh i am so excited holy shit. am i the only one getting slade vibes from her?? because im getting massive slade/rose wilson vibes from the single eye cover and im wondering if artemis is a plant, someone unconnected from slade who wouldn't be considered a threat, to go undercover and get close to the titans. this is also like, high-key a chance to make jade and artemis sisters and/or half-sisters in canon which would be neat. i know comics fans aren't huge on changes to the canon based on outside things but making them half sisters doesn't really change jades backstory, nor artemis'.

Courage, Villagers

Day 1

It’s Lewis and Max in the Milton Keynes Costco against the world.

Lewis probably would’ve picked, like. Anyone else, to be honest. But everyone else is gone, and now it’s just him and Max, racing around checking the perimeter of the Costco, making sure all the doorways are sealed.

They get the last one done—a fire door in the employee break room; they wedge several titanium kayak paddles through the push bar—and Max wipes the sweat from his forehead and says “That is pretty secure now, I think.”

As if in answer, there’s a meaty thunk against the exterior of the door, and then a sliding sound and a long groan from somewhere near the ground.

The door holds. Lewis and Max each let out a long breath.

“Look, man, I’m gonna crash,” Lewis says. “It’s 3am, I’m knackered.”

Max nods. He’s got his pinched press-conference face on. “Me too. I thought I would go to the garden furniture section, there is a big sofa there I saw.”

Typical. Lewis had his eye on that sofa. “Yeah, whatever,” he says. “Night.” He ends up in a water-free jacuzzi, which he fills with a bunch of feather pillows. His dreams are uneasy.

Day 2

They’ve figured out how to work the pizza ovens. Max is tucking into a slice of oozy, gooey pizza, while Lewis has: some nuts and dried fruit, and a granola bar.

To distract himself, he asks “How long do you reckon electricity lasts, after everyone is like. Dead or a zombie.”

Max looks at him, wide-eyed. His lips are greasy with cheese. “That is a good question,” he says. He gets his phone out and types something. “A few days at least,” he says through a mouthful of pizza. “Maybe weeks.” He keeps reading. “Actually I think none of these people know what they’re talking about, they are all just story writers.”

Great. Lewis eats another cashew.

Day 4

They invent Formula Trolley. The racetrack is the aisle that traverses the length of the shop, and there’s only one rule: get to the finish line with your trolley as fast as you can. Winner gets three points, and there’s a bonus point for Longest Coast.

“And through… comes… Hamilton!” Lewis crows, zooming along on his trolley. He wins, with metres to spare.

“Stewards!” Max calls. They’re both laughing, breathless. “Penalty! Driver 44 interfered with his trolley under parc fermé conditions.”

Lewis’s stomach actually hurts from laughing. It’s probably some kind of trauma response to the fact that they’re in a zombie apocalypse. He’s laughing so, so hard.

“Lewis?” Max is saying. “Lewis, are you…” He pats ineffectually at Lewis’s back. “It is ok,” he says. There’s a pause. “Actually it is not ok, everything is shit and we are probably doomed. I can—do you want me to get you one of those vegan chocolates?”

Day 9

The electricity goes out. 

It’s unnerving, being in the echoey bowels of the store with no light and no sound. The background hum of the industrial chillers is startling, now that it’s gone. 

They make a plan: the next morning at first light they’ll go out to reconnoitre the surrounding area and see if they can find any other survivors. And then they’ll… go from there. 

It’s admittedly not much of a plan, but it’s the best they’ve got.

They fill hiking backpacks with supplies: food, bottled water, camping blankets. They make weapons. Lewis ties a vicious-looking barbecue fork to the end of a curtain rod. Max makes a kind of flail out of a heavy stone garden gnome and some chain. They’re as ready as they’ll ever be.

Max hesitates, before he retires to the garden furniture section for the night. “Do you,” he says. He looks at Lewis, face unreadable. “It is our last night, and we might—we do not know how tomorrow is going to go, so. Do you want…?”

Lewis, somewhat to his surprise, does.

the funniest part of being in dark academia spaces etc online is that you do really begin to see how like fake all of it is when people are posting and reblogging pictures of your own university (and romanticising your own degree) and they've all just been... desaturated to high heaven like no the shortcut to your lectures doesn't look like that - nothing weirder than seeing people look up to what is essentially half of your life as an aesthetic pinnacle and meanwhile there you are doing studying the classics in an old british university and that is not the vibe

idk it just makes me laugh, seeing photos that can literally include the outside of my own student bedroom being romanticised when i can see very clearly that the sepia filter is blasted to 100 and there aren't tourists everywhere

i literally don't think i can make sad content. it goes against my nature. everything has to have happy end or i am torn to shreds.

so yeah dont worry about reunite or any of my other things. at worst its a lot of hurt before the comfort. but theres too much sad in the world to make more of it

Before I start, I wanna say all support to Shubble and she deserves truly the best, and I’m so glad that she is getting public support. But also I cannot hide that I have such a bad taste in my mouth on how ccs act. I know we shouldn’t make it about Dream, but I feel so fucking awful and pissed to see that everyone is supporting publicly Shubble (WHICH THEY SHOULD DO, GO GIVE HER ALL SUPPORT AND LOVE), while with Dream nothing. Just nothing. And they let their rabid fans continue to joke and claim Dream is a groomer. And they even have the courage to make grooming jokes and the next day supporting another victim because “hey at least this looks good on me”. I wanna believe it is genuine but after all the Dream situation, I’m looking at the ccs that are supporting Shubble with a very judgemental eyes and I can’t stop. I know it’s very wrong but I truly can’t stop think about it.

Sorry again for my ramble, I hope Shubble is able to get justice, she really deserves it

i feel u, i feel u. on one hand it's like ... well, i mean, this in itself makes it pretty obvious that these ccs don't think dream is guilty, bc this is the response that wilbur's allegations got from the content creator sphere. on the other hand, it's kind of sad how little attention a content creator in the space got after clearing his name. like, ,, false allegations are devastating to people. the personal, professional, and legal fallout of a false accusation can and has been life-ruining. people have compared the psychological effects of false accusations to losing a loved one.

it's like ,, while i understand why in this scenario so many people stayed silent for their own sakes, and because the way false accusations are perceived is so damn different from other scenarios, the psychological effects of these situations are severely traumatizing and involve isolation and constant stress in a way that's not unlike other traumatic situations where it's more socially acceptable to show support. just, yeah. it's sad.

all the support to shubble and i'm so glad people are speaking in her corner, especially in a content creator space where there's just so much hanging in the balance at any given moment and so much of their literal livelihoods can be destroyed by a tweet. i admire her bravery and i'm glad she's got public and private support, for sure <3 and no need to apologize for the ramble anon
