ok in my opinion, Young Justice season 1 is one of the best seasons of super hero media I've ever seen,

the characters are great, the story is fun and it's all around amazing.

but at season 2 I think it went downhill

HI okay so this is gonna sound so silly but Im currently rewatching Twister and immediately thought of your blog. It's been frustrating me a little bit because I still very much have a hyperfixation on the ship and it's been becoming increasingly harder to find new content of it 😭

Ofc, people can move on from Animaticlock if they want, it's their accounts and they can do whatever makes them happy but MAN I'm starving out here ×_×

I've also noticed that whenever people do post stuff for the ship now, it gets significantly less attention than it did back in June.

I calculated some statistics to see what the average number of notes for posts under the Animaticlock tag during this month so far are compared to the first 12 days of June:

Average for August: 14 notes

Number of August posts: 17

Average for June: 92 notes

Number of June posts: 18

Surprisingly the number of posts in the first 12 days of these two months were about the same, but as I suspected, the attention these posts received significantly declined. Keep in mind that these time periods are only 2 months apart from one another!

Aninaticlock is absolutely on a decline right now, which sucks for everyone who's still hooked on the ship but I think we should've seen this coming:

I agree with you, I think people are getting tired of it, and I think I might know the reason why. Animaticlock is a crosship, and thing with crosships is that they, in almost all circumstances, NEVER get any sort of canon interactions. While we did get two crossover videos involving the actual voice actors, this videos aren't canonical. While some people can will through that and stay fully invested in a ship like that, a lot of people can't. A lot of people need at least some sort of canon interaction to keep them excited in the ship because it makes it way easier to see exactly what their dynamic is like.

Animaticlock is special in the way that it managed to become a popular ship at all despite this. However, it was still unlikely that most shippers would continue to be as into the ship as they were when they first got hooked on it because of what I explained about crosships earlier (plus other reasons like getting new interests/hyperfixations that pull them away from it), so it was nearly guaranteed to have a decline, and that's exactly what's happening right now.

I'll still continue to make more Animaticlock stuff despite this tho, dw lol I'm not done with the ship yet

Honestly my process is watching a lot of criminal minds😭 and finding a way to fall in love with all of the characters!! That sounds soooo corny but like u just have to learn to appreciate and love them all because if u find things to love about them you will learn their mannerisms and ways of speaking and habits etc etc! And another big thing I do is when I don’t feel like WRITING I will just watch the show, I’m kind of in a constant stream of rewatching it…. Like I finish and just loop around…. Im in the middle of my second rewatch rn LOLOL

Another thing that’s really really fun and like a good exercise is just writing random conversations between characters or the whole team, like it can be random banter or a random topic and you don’t have to try and turn it into a fic, you’re just like learning and getting a feel for each characters voice if that makes sense!!

1 - hmmm this was hard to narrow down so i'll talk abt a specific scene that's been on my mind. okay ig honestly the detention center is Always on my mind because it's the first time we get a really good look at megumi's character and what he values. but mostly i was thinking abt the part where megumi takes the name tag from the guy he was so adamant about not saving for his mom. i don't think he changed his mind, but to me, it just shows how much he cares about his friends. like i think when he originally took it, it was so he could give it to yuuji so he could give it to the guy's mom, but then when he thought yuuji was dead, he delivered it as a way to pay respect dkfgjhd idk current top megumi moment

2 - nowadays when i rewatch it im team near & mello actually🤞 and pretty anti-light, but i think the first time i watched it, i was so wrapped up in the back & forth between light & l that i probably did root for both this was like 10 years ago tho so i dont remember fs 😭

3 - ooh i think like. in terms of writing fanfic its like when i was a kid & played w dolls like it gives me the same type of feeling, but also i've always been the type to use imagination as escapism, so being able to bring the things in my head "to life" is really satisfying as well

4 - kfgdjdkg theres so many im like always listening to something different. recently i started listening to this artist called juliet ivy, her songs are all super relatable and have a rlly whimsical sound too. another artist i'll always promote is dream, ivory, i've been a fan for a while. i've also been into deftones recently. generally im more the type to listen to random songs rather than specific artists

currently reading: im in 2 books rn bc i need variety or ill never finish any book ever. first is The Creative Vegetable Gardener by Kelley Smith Trimble, its a really good book about gardening that i really didnt expect to like this much. aside from general gardening knowledge, its about breaking the mold of industrial inspired modern gardening and acknowledging gardening holistically, and what it can do for us mentally, physically, ecologically, and historically. honestly didnt expect to read about native land acknowledgement and the psychology of play in a gardening book written by an HGTV editor, but its a pleasant surprise and a very pleasant read. i cant garden where i am right now but theres a lot of good stuff in there. wow that was a lot but SECOND is How To Be You by Jeffrey Marsh, a lovely interactive self help book. ive only just started it but im already in love with it.

current obsession: Cheekface the band. ive had their music on REPEAT since i saw them live last month. an incredible mix between poppy energetic catchy music and cynical socially self aware lyrics. stream cheekface. all three of their albums. and also the b-sides. theyre so good if you want song recs I WILL GIVE THEM TO YOU LISTEN TO CHEEKFACE

Basically HP was the first series I truly went far with, I had gone through trial and error by the time my FIRST FIRST FIRST fic was published (not the first one first time published, not the first one ull find rn, first first first)- first fic idea; comp og idea (legit haven't seen a fic following that premise yet lol); first fic Is tarted writing; first fic I wanted to write ETC ETC.

And yeah my first first first fic was published two years ago iirc, but the journey was far larger, both in regards to the fic and the fandom and HP itself, HP was kinda my fan book thing, B4 Ik what fandoms were I'd j think books and think it. Even tho like 50 books B4 HP had done the trick, I legit have rediscovered HP books thrice in my life so far, the movies thrice too (each time in the way as first time viewer/reader despite it not being the first time).

I even joined and then left the fandom, like legit all good things follow the phase in my life. It has to leave once B4 I can truly love it (well not really but it's permanent membership comes in after it re joins ya know)

So yeah long beloved road of which I can't even remember the beginning of atp.

Spiderman is similar; as a kid he was THE SUPERHERO for me, and only like two years ago (roughly) did he reemerge to me, as always kinda accidently, I saw SM movies there on Netflix and fell into that hole.

J like with HP tho, not the first time I loved it, just the permanent time. It took its throne in my being, perse

So there was this THING b4hand, J not shaped b4hand. (Also again realised it had a fandom stupidly late lol)

The others FLASH HOUSE SHERLOCK are diff from the above

House I was just so bombarded with Hilson by Inkypad and the "He's Dr Sherlock Holmes" content that I searched it up, and I watched and cried and loved, 8 seasons B/w Nov and Jan (not to Jan and Jan; I was away in December)

For Flash he showed up on Utube alot and I legit have not watched a single movie/show)read a single comic I j love him despite that, from the snippets I see here and there.

Sherlock I saw crop up on Utube ridiculously a lot but I have read 4 books 5+ years ago and mostly liked them (5+ bc I don't have them it was from a library) and I j found out some early movies are available but irl is tough so I haven't really seen them and I can't find the other books tho I have searched for years so Pinterest and utube and now Tumblr is my salvation

And incase u can't figure it out, House had content but not time, Sherlock has time but not content, and Flash has neither content nor time.

HP and SM had CONTENT AND TIME.

Content and Time are the values. They are what are needed for me to be able to write. I need more content, I need more time. I need to properly feel the characters through, not two months of obsessive love.

I need true passion.

One that will pop up again whenever the beloved is mentioned.

One that will have me re watching no issue even tho I hate rewatches.

So yeah tell me where to read or see Sherlock, and where to see Flash and gimme time for House.

And the story will flow.

Once they have truly interesting themselves into an essential part of my being.

When all the bads are as beloved as the goods, instead of me sorely focusing on the good.

Then my darling 4, you will get your fics.

Also IRL IS INSANE I WAS LEGIT DEAD TODAY.
