i can literally go on for YEARS… about the shallow takes on miguel and why people hate him but atp its obvious rage bait because i cant even begin to think people can be that lacking of brain tissue to understand him but be the same ones that want more deep and complex characters in movies and shows.

people who dig deep into his character like me and so many others fight so much to simplify it down to where people can understand miguel a little better. like:

sensible miguel fans: “he’s a damaged man who’s trying to keep time and space from collapsing and he gets severely angry at miles who was about to potentially mess that up despite it being explained to him how and what could happen if the canon is disrupted.”

opposing people: “he’s a child abuser, immoral, villain that i hope to see crumble in the next movie.”

like i get that people can dislike him, their takes are nothing but reasonable, but people only bring up the fact he slammed miles, a 15 year old, on that train (in which i dont agree with but understand).

a reasonable take: “i personally don’t like miguel because i didnt like his place in the movie and there hasnt been much of him on screen that i can explore to make me like him.” 100% VALID.

but idk people just hate to hate these days 😭ig they like what their words can do to people

I just think it would be really funny if eridan got added back into the fold, nobody is particularly enthused about him being there (including karkat, whom he is paledating), having his emotional problems addressed does not actually make him less annoying (in fact, his insistence that magic is real and that he's a wizard of it kind of makes him MORE annoying), and then as soon as he steps off the meteor, he says some deranged shit and gets hit with the quadrant 2x combo for it

Uhhhh uh Dean goes into the Empty to rescue Cas and at first hes wandering around aimlessly but then he feels his shoulder heating up so he rolls up his sleeve and his shoulder is glowing in the shape of Cas' handprint from season 4 and it gets brighter as he gets closer to Cas send post

Thinking about how in S1, Kieran jokingly yells "honey, i'm home!" because that's just his flirtatious nature and he knows Lauren would absolutely hate the idea of dating an assassin but then he sees her with her hair messed up, sleepy eyes, and in hardly anything but his oversized collared shirt and suddenly he gets the feeling he's not joking anymore. Not that he would admit it (as seen by him literally launching his duffel bag at Lauren's face despite her being injured LMAO) yet for someone who is supposedly a "don't give a shit" playboy it's so obvious that he's down bad.

But also, if you are to look at it from a general perspective, it's clear that he's hit quite strongly with the mundanity of it all, that, in another reality, he could have had a quiet, domestic life with at least someone to come back to.

If Lauren happens to be his placeholder for that "someone", well, that's between him and the devil that waits for him.

Like..persephone stole Dioynsus, and then..he isn't even with them at the end??? SHE TOOK HIM FROM HIS DAD SO HE COULDNT BE RAISED BY NYMPHS AND THEN JUST. LETS HIM GO??? (Also them bringing Semele back brings no weight cuz we never SEE Dio even caring about his mother. So??? What.)

And with Hades and Thanatos. It still seems like Hades is treating him like an employee instead of someone he RAISED! And never tries to make up for it, but now they have the other two (that look exactly like Hades which is..a boring ass choice 🙄 like God damn.) And low and behold, they're one big happy family. Okay, maybe this is just me, but the fucking whiplash from the way Sandra Lynn and Jawbone are with Adaine over Fig or Kristen is so crazy to me. It's gotten to such a point that Emily called it out in this last episode. Like, you're telling me that Sandra Lynn can acknowledge that the bad kids have helped raise each other and fulfill emotional needs their parents haven't, but can't put together that there might be a fucking reason Fig is protecting Kristen and Adaine created a simulacrum? Jawbone, as both a guardian and counselor, just let it go that a highly competent rouge capable of finding the rouge teacher straight up admitted (1) she wanted to murder Kristen and (2) she is upset at Fig for keeping her from getting close? All this after years of being obsessed with the bad kids?

Meanwhile, they see Adaine as this competent, low-maintenance, emotionally mature adult instead of recognizing that she was taught from an early age that adults would not meet her emotional needs?
