So um I finally got to play Baldurs Gate and um wow Larian and everyone really did put their souls into this. There's a humanity in it that is wrenching and beautiful and compelling. tbh i have so many issues with the ways bg3 characters are perceived en masse but astarion gets first place in the "they forget he is an experimental fusion of lucille bluth and dennis reynolds" race. like. listen, i do love him. but he's not a charisma build, he's a cat that just fell into a river. if u ascend him u also ascend the clown aura. u have brought the clown aura into the light permanently. now the clown aura can fly and summon swarms of whatever the fuck ascended astarion can summon (clouds of locusts? more bats? idk, it's late) and like. talk to wolves or whatever.

#the only companions with decent charisma are wyll and minthara #wyll and minthara hold like. ALL the charisma #tbh wyll is so shakespearean i- [i become incomprehensible it is almost 7 am i have not slept]#nah but wyll speaks like a bard i'm obsessed w it #wyll works poetic devices into his speech n im like is he doing that on purpose???#or is that just the Natural 17 Charisma #i feel like it was honed but it comes across as natural #both can be true at once #astarion meanwhile is doing this act but it's so like.#it comes from this horrible place he's doing it for survival it is so stiff #bg3 #astarion

allow me to be a hater for ONE moment can i just say. im sorry to my beloved mutuals who enjoy it but bg3 looks bad. like sure stills of it look fine its got Pores In The Skin quality but the movement is so stilted??? the rigging is messy and they move like action figures. rip to your vampire man but he looks bad in motion
