That somehow, the most loyal and probably borderline asexual (demisexual maybe? His libido isnt fucking high guys thats obvious and he isnt a damn horn dog) character bangs all the "attractive" women, leaves his wife--who yes is written like shit but is attractive as well and he fucking LOVES HER as the fan boys and writers of at least Super conveniently forget--and has...a couple more kids with three different women? Like this is so fucking nasty I don't know where to BEGIN.

Like...fuck. the art is nasty and hyper-sexualizes at least Vados with big tiddies and her nipples showing through her wedding dress in one image.

Then there's the fucking ChiChi abuse. And you know. I'm not the biggest fan of how ChiChi is written, and I know this is a staple for the fan boys. Toriyama and Toyotaro really just made her a walking, awful stereotype like they've done with Bulma. But good grief. The "artist" first of all is wishy washy with her with this...fucking weird idea of ChiChi being okay with Goku shacking up with Vados, and serving them in bed? Like there is so much wrong with that from the obvious to like some gross societal ideas that once a woman reaches a certain age she's only worthwhile in a servile role. Unless they look like Bulma that is, who abuses the dragonballs to maintain her youth a d appearance BUT you get me. And despite that, the artist still has Beerus kill her for some reason? Because of course. And then the picture they have of her above the milk jar that I imagine is supposed to be her urn (even though I'm pretty sure a Hakai leaves nothing behind but why am I even trying to find a shred of something that is potentially accurate to the lore in this, when this is already steaming hot garbage and the lore is inconsistent anyway) is of her being angry. Like...fucking God. The idea that Goku doesn't love ChiChi is atrocious and flat out wrong, and he would NEVER select a picture like that to honor her. But I guess at this point who fucking cares because he's brought his hot angel mommy into their marriage home, so who cares about a little more disrespect, right? And that's not mentioning how the rest of his family is just a-okay with this.

I don't even know what to say about Heles and the Zeno baby. Like....wtf. you were fully into this Vados idea but now he's having a kid with Heles who he....literally never talked to. I'm not sure he ever really saw her.

I'm honestly a little surprised Bulma isn't somehow included in this atrocity. I say a little because she's probably not because that would mean taking their king Vegeta's wife from him and we can't have that. Also like...what does it say about the fan boys' masculinity when they want to make their Shonen anime into a literal, raunchy soap opera rather than a series about overpowered warriors fighting evil? Idk but that's not very manly....🙄🙄🙄 (disclaimer: I don't actually care about that kind of thing and men can absolutely enjoys soap operas; I only bring it up because they care about their very fragile masculinity being challenged). I mean these are probably the same people that whine and bitch about the filler in Z that's by and large actually not bad but stan everything Super has to offer, even the absolutely trash filler.

This pervasive shit is what makes it so hard to be a fan of this series, especially as a girl who grew into a woman watching this series since she was 6. And like yeah. Sure. Toriyama wasn't writing this shit for us. The target audience was boys. But damn. I’m going to have to give Piccolo first place, since Orange is on par with SSJSS Goku and Vegeta, who are at least Universe level. And if you want to say “no orange piccolo” because he’s too strong, there’s your answer.

In any case, Base is currently as strong as base Goku and Vegeta, who are at least 5x planetary level.

Jake the Dog

No, this isn’t a joke, Jake the Dog is not a threat to be taken lightly, for one reason: Gag Physics.

Basically, nothing short of molecular destruction can kill him, which automatically means most of this roster can’t beat him.

Luffy

I would like to start by saying I don’t read or watch One Piece, but I know a bit about Luffy.

I know this will piss some people off, but while Luffy is definitely strong, I don’t think he’s as strong as Piccolo, I’d say he’s currently about 2 Krillins strong.

If we throw Gear 5 in, then now we have a fun match. From what I know, Gear 5 Luffy is very similar to Jake, using Gag Physics. Unfortunately for him, he’s more of the Physics part, which means that he doesn’t have that indestructible aspect. Regardless, if we count Gear 5, we’re counting Orange.

Plastic Man

I know that the DC fans are going to put a hit out on me for this, but Plastic Man isn’t that strong. In DC, he’s a goddamn menace, but in this fight, I can only really give him forth. Anime powerscaling, ESPECIALLY in Dragon Ball (don’t make me mention the void shake thing), is just way too fucked.

The one thing I’m willing to say for him is that he’s got the second best control over his body, after Jake. And really, if you swapped their body shapes, their ranking in that regard would also swap.

Elastigirl

Honestly, this one is tragic. If Elastigirl were from almost any other Disney property, she would beat out Plastic man, and maybe even Luffy. This is because Disney hates killing MCs.

But she’s from a movie made by Pixar, and they do not share Disney’s no killing rule. And in The Incredibles, death is VERY common. Thus, since she just has watered-down Plastic Man powers, I’m going to have to put her below him.

Reed goddamn Richards

Seeing how man variants of Reed there are, this was a real tossup. However, for simplicity, I’m going to say main 616. He’s got an even more watered down version of Plastic Man’s powers, so he gets an even lower placement. Easy as pie.

Min-Min

Originally, I was debating between her and the next entry, but I think that MM’s versatility is just good enough. As for powers, she’s got stretchy arms, a lot of weapons, and pretty good versatility.

Spinel

So I haven’t watched Steven Universe since season 2, but if memory serves, destroying a Gem’s core destroys them, and I’m pretty sure everyone above her can do that. And since her weapons are all made to destroy other Gems, they are kinda useless.

overall, when ranking the Z arcs, i unfortunately have to put cell arc at the bottom. i think the reason i rank it so low compared to other arcs largely has to do with goku and vegeta’s (separate) character arcs lol. it’s both of their WORST arcs by far. neither of them are ever present, and when they are present… theyre not making the best decisions lmfao specifically vegeta man i cannot STAND him in cell arc he really really gets on my nerves. goku is more understandable and requires a deeper explanation but vegeta simply just SUCKS in this arc lmfao

this is gohan’s best arc tho by far. and if ur a fan of side characters like piccolo and krillin then cell arc is a great arc for u ! this is basically everyone’s best arc but goku n vegeta lolol

First of all, thank you so much! I’m so glad you loved that story and a lot of time and effort went into writing, editing, formatting and publishing this one!

The answer to your question is yes…somewhat! After reframing Scattered Pictures with original characters to publish my first novel, I wanted to move forward with the idea of Goku’s perspective but had moved away from writing DBZ fanfic by the time it was feasible. I decided to pursue my writing career further by writing Faded Polaroids (Goku’s side of the story) for publication. So it IS what happens on Goku’s side of the story, but as in the published Scattered Pictures, this is about Dante and Elise.

I am getting back into writing a little Gochi fanfic now from time to time, but not like I used to. I’m planning on posting a little something for the upcoming Gochi week in July, just drabbles, but if you want his side of Scattered Pictures, this book is the mirror story from his perspective.

Sun wukong had actually inspired the name's of Son of Goku and luffy because of them having his name or title as a name, and an underrated character named Six-Eared Macaque that is a complete opposite of Sun wukong

i..i think i rambled a bit too much, i apologize if this isn't really an ask, but uh...*pull's out script*..Aha! i nearly forgot, Macaque and Sun wukong are the most simped over character's for reason's and i too simped for these monkey's, but you can search them up either fan art's or from the LMK show

I’m gonna be an ego apologist real quick I’m so sorry fjdjd I didn’t like it at first, but I’m a huge fan of it now because:

Like instinct, the form is highly reflective of its teacher — Vegeta’s purple hair and heavy hairless brow are a direct reference to Beerus’ influence on his trajectory into that form

Ego is not a pretty thing! For Vegeta especially, it’s been a historically ugly and destructive (wink nudge Beerus coding wink) trait that has only harmed him and the people around him, which are things that come back to him surrounding his use of it in the way he attacks Goku for trying to help (that’s Ego, baby)!

On top of that, the form requires harm to be done to Vegeta in order for it to be fueled, so it’s not just destructive, but also self-destructive. Like a callback to Majin Vegeta, seeing Vegeta trying to weaponize a relapse should be scary to witness, and the choice to make him look unlike himself while he’s in that form is a great choice imo.

Having Vegeta’s Ego form be unattractive is really nice visual storytelling for his growth as a person — Even though it exhausts him and even after he’s upset that Goku calls it freaky, he still hops right into it to help the second that strength is needed, which is a great way to display the shift in his maturity and priorities from back when he first appeared, and hesitated to use his Oozaroo form because he thought it was ugly, frightening, and draining.

(4.5?) Vegeta being so put together, guarded, regal, and proud — then letting himself off-leash and getting feral and beastly and Buck Fucking Wild is a perfect foil to Goku’s typically emotionally-driven and reckless style now having to master absolute control over himself the way Vegeta always has. Their forms are very fun ways to show that the things that hold them back are the key to their strength, but they’re also the biggest challenge to maintain.

Goku changing his instinct form to suit his whole and earnest self might serve as a prelude to Vegeta learning to do the same thing at some point! His happy apology to Beerus when he can’t revert back to his villain era self to fully tap that power, but still being able to use it to the point that he can, has really cool potential for him to consolidate his Ego with the more humble, balanced, and grounded work he’s been putting into himself and his training. The “ugly” part has to be bled out acknowledged and worked through first, then it can be healed honed into something more tailored and true, which we already saw him begin to work on in that arc because our geets is a quick and clever boy.

tl;dr: I genuinely really like Ego’s browless freaky face! I think it’s great storytelling and character development (and obviously fantastic for comedy jfjdjd Vegeta immediately getting roasted for and embarrassed by it is everything to me).

MY ONE ISSUE with it is that I wish T&T chose to push it JUST a little further into Beerus/Oozaroo territory and given him

Lan Fan is one of my FAVORITE characters of all time. You think she's going to be just like every other female support character in a shonen where she's cold and hateful or desperately in love with their closest male friend, but she is not like that at all. She's multifaceted (like all the other female characters Arakawa writes!), she's been trained for exactly one thing and struggles with her purpose outside of that, she gets embarrassed easily, she's EXTREMELY duty and family first, and she's prone to flying off the handle when her loved ones are besmirched or threatened. She's like Goku to me in that I cheered "RAAA SHE'S THE GOAT" every time she appeared on screen. She's so fucking cool and also has the capacity for a lot of Miserable fic content due to her relationship with Ling and the death of Fu. (I highlighted "I like her normally" too because I ping pong between her being a Number One blorbo and just enjoying her character like a normal person.)

OLIVIER I'M SORRY I MISTOOK YOU FOR YOUR BROTHER! That was so fucking wrong of me — she is so cool. She's also like Goku to me in that she had a lot of "RAAA GOAT" moments, but she's like Gojo too because this song was playing in my head during a lot of her scenes. (Am I making sense?) I love everything about her character. Her design is amazing, the way she weaponizes people's perception of her is so based, and her undying loyalty to her soldiers in a sea of corrupt amestrian political officials is just... I'd let her ruin my life tbh. I don't think she's under or over appreciated by the fanbase but if I had to pick one I'm definitely leaning more toward "under". She's so fucking rad that is all.

My bingo card does not do either of these characters justice. Are they on my mind 24/7? No, not really. Do I LOVE them and their contributions to the plot?? So Much...

I have one complaint for Fu's character... I wanted to see him more o(--(. I don't think it took anything away from the show and I still felt something when he died, but yeah I would've liked a few more fight scenes or moments with Lan Fan. (This technically doesn't count but I wish the bit at the end of the manga where Lan Fan takes his hand and says "We're going home grandfather" was in the anime😭). Fu does not make me go insane like some characters from the show but he is very cool and I like him a lot !

Armstrong is a delight. I smiled whenever he was on screen and I LOVE the "big scary looking man is actually gentle and kind" subversion. He is not completely innocent and he does have blood on his hands, but that doesn't take away from his softheartedness (reminder that almost all of Arakawa's characters are flawed and guilty of something!) The Ishval flashback and his dynamic with Olivier made him more interesting too. Overall he was great. Two big thumbs up for this guy.
