Listen far from me to judge someone's coping mechanism but like.... Bad is going batshit insane, that's like the driving force behind all this arc- Ancestral demon capable of terrible destruction loses the most important thing he ever had, maybe the first thing he ever truly loved, and literally let loose the darkness he had tried to keep hidden and goes scorched earth on everything that once mattered.

hc that Sanji has nightmares post-WCI, and often hides in the galley or bathroom when he wakes up in the middle of the night until the anxiety wears off and he calms himself down.

Zoro notices Sanji’s strange absences and eventually stumbles upon him in the middle of a panic attack, Sanji’s knees drawn up to his chest and a hand fisting in his hair.

Zoro keeps finding him like that. The swordsman doesn’t know how to help at first, just sitting awkwardly beside Sanji the first few times it happens. The conversation after is stilted, tense, until they both head back to bed.

Around the third time, though, as Sanji comes down from the panic, Zoro feels a pinky hook around his own. neither of them say anything about it, but Sanji falls asleep quicker that night.

It escalates quickly into more than that— warm embraces, their foreheads touching, a clammy hand pressed against Zoro’s chest as Sanji tries to match the swordsman’s breaths.

Eventually, Sanji doesn’t bother going to the galley, just slides himself into Zoro’s bed wordlessly. Zoro doesn’t say anything either, simply wrapping an arm around Sanji’s waist and pressing his nose into the nape of the cook’s neck. It helps.
