“oh my god! the bean is not under any construction anymore!” you point out, able to discern the article text under the glaring sun.

your friend nods, tired from the lack of food and wandering around in clothes not accustomed for the 60 degree temperature. you still were high on energy, the city and sunny autumn weather fueling your excitement; along with the anxiety fueling your flight response.

you sling your phone in your pant pocket as your other palm sweats against your sling bag—one you’ve been gripping ever since you entered the large city in fear of being pickpocketed. you pick up your pace absentmindedly as your friend trudges behind you.

you glance back at them. “since it’s a major tourist spot, no doubt they will have food.”

you could imagine a cartoon-ish sigh of relief exude from them as their own pace slightly picks up.

the gardens slowly wade behind you as you trudge through them, searching for any sign of a enormous metal bean. sweat glues your shirt to your back as your fingers trail against the leather portion of your bag.

after walking on a curved path beside the pavilion, your eyes blank out on the promised free bean. you've seen it before—a long time ago—but your friend has never seen the iconic tourist attraction.

although some conditions weren’t in your favor, you hoped they could at least enjoy seeing some things not everyone gets to. their immediate attention goes to the overpriced food trucks right beside it; however, knowing that both of you haven’t ate in 6 hours means money didn’t mean a thing.

they pat your shoulder. “i’m going to get a hot dog and a water, you want anything?” you shake your head, too entranced with the surroundings of everyone interacting.

“i’m fine—thank you though. i’ll be on the bench over there,” you reply wistfully.

your friend pretends to understand and strolls quickly to the nearest truck. in the meantime, you stand alone on the burning concrete sidewalk, enjoying the scenery.

the air seemed fresh next to the gardens, with the trees colliding alongside the massive skyscrapers, reaching to the clouds past the sky.

“ah—pardon me?” a man under a black hoodie jump-scares you, face flinching in response; your hands absentmindedly clasps your belongings.

you take a brief look at the tall tan man as he himself jumps a bit at your own response.

you chuckle before a light laugh escapes. “sorry! you scared me—is there anything i can help you with?”

he pauses. you discern his previously concerned eyes—the only part of his face you can see—as they focus on the ground before darting back up to meet yours once again. his eyes disappear behind a crinkle, forming smiles of their own you imagine.

he waves his hands, phone in one. “no no! i am sorry,” you can hear an accent, “i took picture of you—“

your brows furrow, lips pursing; he catches on immediately.

“oh um—“ he mutters something in another language which you can recognize as korean, “you looked really pretty.” your face turns hard pink and you hope he only believes it’s from the heat. “and the sun looked pretty and i had to take a photo, but i want your…support for it?”

it was obvious he wasn’t even sure of himself; the hands flailing from you to the sun and back to you says it all. you slowly nod, trying to understand his words. you glance to his eyes, searching for any soul behind them; that soul digs into your own for something sincere that you can’t quite place yet.

the world just seems to encapsulate you two as you can hear light scratching of his fingernails against his phone case, tugging your attention away to the new source. you can feel his gaze linger on your skin before he follows your gaze.

he almost yelps, “oh! here!” he scrambles to open his phone. as easy as it was to open a previously opened app, you linger yourself on his hands, seemingly red and scratchy.

you don’t even notice people briskly walking past you, staring in your direction; you don’t even notice another man, yet older and in all black clothing, walk over to the backside of the man you are talking to.

his phone is brazenly shoved into your face, forcing you to realize how close he has gotten to your right side. you could feel his quick breathing and additional warmth radiating from him; you wonder if you seemed to be the creep between the both of you. the blush returns as you force yourself to stand still. you look down to what he is showing you.

it’s a picture of you. where you were standing. he was right. the afternoon sun glow shined beside you onto the camera perfectly. the trees colliding alongside the massive skyscrapers, reaching to the clouds past the sky.

you swallow, noting your dry mouth. “wow—that’s. that’s really good.”

“right?” he isn’t looking at the photo anymore. he is slightly bending down, so you are able to meet his eyes as equals. he suddenly cuddles into his black jacket a bit more. “you like?”

you swallow again, “mhm! it’s amazing. candids really are something.” you mentally hit yourself with the stupidest remark.

he chuckles. “give me your phone.” your eyes widen. he chuckles again a bit louder but only audible to yourselves. “so you have the photo?”

your mouth opens and his eyes close in cheer. you fiddle through your pant’s side pocket to fish out your phone. once it resides in your palm and faces him for the next set of instructions, he tugs down the top and presses on the bluetooth icon.

you glance over at him as he adjusts his settings—confirming your suspicion that he did speak korean. he then lightly tugs your wrist, facing your phone towards him. he presses the phones together and you observe as the picture airdrops to your phone.

“oh my god..” you whisper. he chuckles, breath hitting your cheeks somehow through his mask. “i didn’t know it could do that—airdrop can be tricky for me.”

he hums in response. he glances briefly at the corners of your cheeks. “only for us.”

you look back up at him with a smile. “oh for sure! thank you so much!”

he waves and nods his head. “have a good day.”

the man behind him tugs his sweatshirt and they begin to quickly stroll away. not before he glances back at you and waves shyly.

you then look around yourself, noticing some girls were angling their phones at you.

“so what was happening over here?” you friend saunters over to you, hot dog in hand and two waters tucked into her side.

you let out a breathy chuckle out of disbelief. “some dude just took a gorgeous candid of me and sent it to me.”

your friend nods and smiles. “good for you! no doubt he liked you.” she hands you the extra water bottle.

“h-huh?” you stutter, eyes widen.

your friend chuckles. “your expressions are so funny sometimes.” they pat your back as you aggressively twist off the cap. you tilt your head back and chug part of the water. they pat your back again. “slow down, you don’t want to throw that up later because i am not cleaning that up.”

you nod, this time slowly swirling the cap around the grooves of the plastic bottle.

“now let me order that uber and you show me that so-called amazing photo.”

“—NICE!” the fifth time the song rings out never gets old. as much as your bones are exhausted, you are determined to keep up.

getting to the venue was a hectic experience, but stepping to your almost-floor seats was a whole separate experience itself. the arena was smaller than expected, but the seats were in perfect view of the extended stage, especially during the encore.

a quick snap of your phone catches the image of that same man you met the previous day.

you didn’t register what completely happened till you arrived at your hotel room, until your friend showed you a specific member’s instagram story. the road signs may have looked familiar in the background, but you hit yourself mentally for recognizing the tan man.

now, in the concert hall, he never looked over in your direction; instead, he waved to the 200s and to the people on the floor, yet you still took his photo.

even if he never notices you or remembers you, you’re content with the thought of him doing something he loves and you being part of a fleeting moment only through his eyes.

Seungcheol decidedly will not be telling you about how the guys had bet how long you'd be able to last at your social engagement before texting him to come get you. Almost nobody had had any faith in you, and Seungcheol privately hoped they were right because you'd been so busy lately and he'd been missing you, but he knew that you'd be grumpy about people betting against you.

He's almost giddy, skipping to his car and humming along to the music as he drives to come pick you up, but that all changes when he sees you. Normally, not even your introverted nature can keep you from lighting up when you saw Seungcheol, but all you can manage is a tired smile and a wave as he pulls up to the curb where you're waiting.

"Hey baby," you call to him as he hops out of the car to open your door. "How was game night?"

Even now, you can feel yourself begin to tear up. "I'm sorry for stealing you away."

He sighs, exasperated. "Let's get my baby home to rest."

He keeps one of his hands in yours as he drives. "Thanks for coming to get me," you say as you lean against the side of his car.

"Of course, honey," he says, keeping his eyes on the road. "Thanks for calling me."

If there's one thing Seungcheol will always do for you, it's unconsciously erase all of your anxiety around being a burden. It was one of the reasons it was so easy for you to be around him -- you felt so safe with him. He never made you feel like any favor you asked of him was too much, and he always made it seem like such a privilege to love you the way he did, without you ever even having to say anything. It's this thought that has you smiling at his profile, watching him as he drives until he gives you an uneasy look. "Are you okay?" he asks.

"Yes," you reply easily. "You're a fine man, Choi Seungcheol."

"Did you drink tonight?" he asks.

You swat his arm. "No, I'm just too tired to filter my thoughts. And my thoughts are saying that you're really pretty."

"You are pretty," he says quietly, smiling to himself. "But thanks."

"You're welcome," you say, settling back into the seat and closing your eyes.

By the time you arrive home, you're feeling calmer and less scattered. After parking in the driveway, Seungcheol comes around the side of the car to open your door again. "Can I carry you inside?" he asks hopefully.

"Now?" He's been asking this since you moved in together. "I'm okay, really."

"You look reeeeeeeeeeeally tired," he begs. "What's the point of all this gym stuff if not to carry you across the threshold of our shared residence?"

"Save it for the wedding night, Seungcheol," you tell him, and then the both of you freeze.

Because really, that is the reason you haven't let him yet. Of course, you hadn't planned on telling him that until much, much later, but once again, your social battery being on 5% has gotten you into trouble.

But Seungcheol doesn't seem worried -- in fact, he seems kind of...proud? "Okay," he says staunchly, his chest puffed out. "I will save it for the wedding night. Amazing idea, baby."

You groan as you take his hand to let him help you out of the car. "Forget I said that."

"Not a chance," he says. "Don't worry though. I know you're tired, so I'll wait until tomorrow to ask you about wedding colors."

"Shut up," you giggle.

Seungcheol ushers you into the house and locks the door behind him, following you into the living room where you collapse on the couch. He laughs at the way your face is smushed into the couch cushions before padding into the bathroom and starting the water. You listen as he bumps around the bathroom, too tired to move your head to look at him, but a few minutes later he comes into the living room and crouches beside your face. "Come on, honey," he says quietly, his eyes overwhelmingly kind.

So you take his offered hand and let him lead you into the bathroom, where there is a candlelit bath with rose petals waiting for you. "Is the water okay?" he asks, a little nervous as you test it with your finger.

"It's perfect. Thank you."

"You're perfect," he says softly before leaning in to press a soft kiss to your nose. "I'll be waiting in bed for you."

Seungcheol closes the door quietly behind him as he leaves the room. You, for your part, are once again wondering where you found a man like him as you strip down and slip into the warm water, letting yourself fully unwind for the first time in a week.

You stay in the bath for nearly an hour, but it pays off -- you leave feeling much less frazzled and drained. You're still tired, though, and you're sure Seungcheol can see it on your face as you enter your shared bedroom clad in your pajamas, because he opens up the covers he's already under and motions for you to come into his arms.

You comply, nuzzling your head into his chest like a cat with its favorite patch of carpet, and he brings a broad hand up to cradle the back of your neck -- the spot where he knows you get your tension headaches, which he massages for you on days like today.

"Feeling better?" he asks softly, kissing your forehead.

"Yeah," you say. "Thanks."

You just lay there quietly for awhile, relishing the feel of his hand rubbing firm circles into your neck. You appreciate that he refrains from asking about your night, knowing you may need some time to process before you'll be ready to talk about it. But you know he's wondering, so you decide to give him something, even if it's not much. "It was really fun," you tell him. "It's just been a long week."

"I know, baby." He kisses your forehead again. "I'm impressed with you for going and for how long you stayed. And it's good progress that you called me before you got too overstimulated."

You chuckle. "It was either come home or start throwing things and maiming people."

"You made the right choice," Seungcheol says, and you can hear the grin in his voice.

The moment is so perfect you want to freeze it in time: this man with his arms around you, in the low light of the bedside lamp, and the way you can just be around him without any demands. Your damaged filter, on the other hand, has other plans. "I don't know what I'll do when our kids just want me to be around all the time," you worry aloud.

Seungcheol's arms tighten around you. "Our kids?" he asks quietly, and you cringe.

"I'm exposing myself majorly tonight," you say.

"No, no, it's alright," he says, obviously trying to conceal how gleeful he is. "This version of you is...something else. I really like it."

"I'm sure you do," you grumble, but you muster the strength to look him in the eye. "Just so long as we're on the same page, I don't really mind you knowing I want to marry you and have your kids."

"We are most definitely on the same page," Seungcheol states firmly, leaning down a bit to kiss you. "I was on that page forever ago, so I'm glad you finally caught up."

And as he kisses you again, you think that as long as you've got him to love you whether or not you're capable of controlling your thoughts, any potential bumps in the road you might experience will be alright.

@homerunhansol - definitely vernon wtf???? and i'm not saying this because he's her boy but - they would get along SO well. j is a really chill girl (except when she's simping on her boys), she loves movies and she goes to concerts pretty often and i feel like that's just vernon's vibe you know? like i'm pretty sure if vernon wasn't an idol or even working in music, he'd still be pretty big on music and go to so many concerts/festivals!! they'd be so cute togeether; in big gatherings they'd be in their own world, laughing at some videos and having conversations no one can understand but them.

@wqnwoos - for hana i'd say wonwoo AND I SWEAR I'M NOT BIASED, i just truly think people choose at least one bias they would get along with. they're both quiet people and on the shyer side but i feel like wonwoo would reach out to hana and get to know her (that's wonwoo for you hehe). they're both big on books and they love cats; they'd have the cutest reading dates and they would adopt a cat together (and name it after like a character they both like) also hana does have a cuter side to her personality and wonwoo would melt at any of her cuteness. @lovelyhan - once again i am not biased but jeonghan would literally be so freaking in love with kai,, they have a certain vibe to them, they're so very sweet and adorable and that's just jeonghan's type for you? jeonghan absolutely adores anything cute and the boys have said multiple times he likes sweet people. he'd give them the sweetest hugs, kai could ask for anything and jeonghan would deliver! clearly they're a power couple hehe

@som1ig - for may i'd say hoshi and i don't even know why,, i feel like she'd either be able to control him and his antics or he'd get worse,, but they would be the funniest couple ever, pulling jokes after jokes and making everyone laugh! but when they're alone, hoshi would find a place to rest with may and would be able to drop the "i'm strong and never get tired" act (just like he can do with the members!)

@neejaatjeh - mingyu for sure! i feel like she is pretty extroverted and is not afraid to reach out and talk to new people and mingyu would adore that! he'd be able to be his goofiest self with her, make the worse jokes ever and she'd still hype him up,, and when he's in a calmer mood, she'd welcome him with open arms like she'd accept anything from him and he loves the security of being loved no matter what

hands down, i love boynextdoor's mainly because their debut at least strayed away from the trend of boycrush music that's been happening in 4th gen grps, and it felt like a good way to start the 5th gen era. i also LOVE zb1's debut because the masterpiece that is youth in the shade as an entire album. i wasn't considering to stan zb1 mainly because i've had my fair share of survival show groups but literally sooo fucking good i couldn't help it. loona's debut will always hold a special place in my heart because the whole "girl of the month" concept really was sooo good. i remember when i first heard chuu's heart attack and i was sold. i stayed with them since. txt's is also my favorite. even if im a predebut stan, the way they really had such a distinct sound from debut that followed them until minisode era.... love my txt boys special mentions to golcha's damdadi, newjeans' debut, wannaone's energetic, and nct dream's chewing gum

boynextdoor! not only just because they're my ult group but they have been the only group (aside from bts) where i was okay to watch them over a day6 concert. and that's a huge deal to me. a lot of my friends know i've given up other kpop concerts just to watch day6 regardless of how many times ive seen them, but bonedo has been the only group where i felt like i can watch them over day6. (it's never happened with past ult groups like svt, nct dream, or tbz like its sooo srs to me if i would be okay watching another group over day6... my forever ult group for life)

THE ENTIRETY OF BAND AID ALBUM. I LOVE YOU DAY6. i literally could not stop listening to it. its such a perfect album personally because i have always been a big lover of their more rock-leaning tracks. i am literally still struggling to rank these tracks like i love that album to Bits. but special mentions to monster and counter like wow. i can ramble on and on about day6 but i wont. (like. theres a reason why my user is GLUION.) happy and get the hell out by day6.... wow i just LOVE day6 im sorry but literally saved my soul. fourever saved my soul it did. come back to me by rm really did genuine emotional damage to me. like i love the whole right place, wrong person album but that track in specific has such immense impact on my soul and i think its because the mv reminds me of myself. the entirety of the TRIGGER ALBUM BY THE BOYZ. Hiiii I saw your post from a few weeks ago about not getting many asks and messages recently! I’m sorry that there are less :/ but I don’t think it’s cause you say nonsense or yap. Tbh I don’t think you say nonsense and I actually like that you yap a lot! I used to send you ( and other blogs) messages more in the past but lately, I’m so busy all the time. I also use tumblr a lot less now cause I was kinda sad in the past and spend a lot of time indoors online. These days, I’m really busy and life has changed a lot. I feel like I could talk about this forever but I’m looking at which uni I want to go to which feels unreal because a few years ago I thought I’d be dead by the time I got to uni (I was very sad, probably depressed but I had no diagnosis). I’m doing really well in my studies lately and I’m currently aiming for one of the top 2 universities in my country. I’m a bit nervous because sometimes I question whether or not I really am that clever and there’s also going to be a lot of people who have had extremely privileged lives at that uni. I’ve got a pretty shit background but I’m trying to stay positive and use that to motivate me! The course I’m hoping to do is called human, social and political science but it’s split into three sections: sociology, politics and social anthropology. (Also I went to an open day there recently and there were 2 guys who were quite hot lmao one looked simultaneously a bit like the white version of Jun from svt and Devon Bostick and was extremely tall, taller than 6’5” and another guy looked sm like Ben Barnes with long hair and he kept looking and smiling at me hehe) I’m really excited for whatever is going to happen next in my life and I’m really proud of myself! Ik I’ve gone on a tangent but basically, I really like your blog but I don’t have as much time as I used to :/ I totally appreciate you and I honestly think you are really kind and lovely!
