I think you said before that in your lobotomy corp au Buck used to be human before becoming an entity (sorry if im remembering wrong). Would the incident that caused that perhaps happen to be related to a certain brainiac or was it entirely unrelated? Either way it'd be cool to know what happened!

YOU DID REMEMBER THAT RIGHT DW!!!. he did used to be a human!! He worked in the records department along with Brian actually! Now did it involve a certain brainiac! Mostly! more so a indirect reasoning but it still SURE DID INVOLVE HIM. Lobotomy Corp features specific abnormalities that aren't like others. being items. the items typically benefit the facility and can be used for a lot of things and most importantly cannot breach. Abnormality buck works in a bit of an odd way due to his creation. He's not a human anymore and he's not fully an abnormality. He is an item abnormality infused onto a human host. The item in question being a slot machine [very creative i know] that as employees would give different benefits or cause a bust and give debuffs. The more times used in the day the higher the rewards get but the higher the debuffs get. (Breaching abnormalities, causing ordeals(another in game mechanic) causing agents to loose all their sanity points and what not.) with that little blurb written. Brian and Buck both worked in the records department. Now at least in my own little Hc, Brian doesn't exactly like noise when working and typically gets really focused on what hes doing. Buck has his own ways of working that lets him get things done but not so quietly. the two argue a lot with brian being annoyed and with buck being pretty just chill about it and finding it more so funny then anything else. Eventually Brian suggests he go work with an abnormality O-09-777, an item referred to as Everything Slots. (abnormalities all have a number and a name, most of the ones ive showed so far I've made names for! i should make a master list at some point ) Buck takes him up on the offer and goes and works with the machine. Now working with the machine he hit a lucky streak. It kept paying him out well, Performance upgrades, More energy for the facility(What the company is trying to get from the abnormalities) different gear department wide boosts. HE REALLY didnt pay attention to how much he had been pulling that lever and before he knew it the machine sealed his fate with a bust. Rather then breaching other abnormalities or caused a facility wide meltdown. It took Buck as a human host making him part of the machine. AKA! giving him his iconic slots for eyes visor and slowly turning other parts of him robotic. He sometimes will leak oil. Now the facility didnt lock him up on sight seeing he remained........Most.... of his humanity...minus the sanity point downgrade and how quickly he seems to go insane. They let him resume his records department work with the only requirement of someone has to be watching him at all times. that someone being Brian due to the fact he was the one who suggested he go to the slot machine in the first place. Brian got a lot more rude towards Buck after the incident and mostly everyone else...though in reality he feels really guilty over the whole thing and he's angry at the fact that Buck is just...oddly ok with the fact he's partly an abnormality now. he really wishes he could go back and never have made the suggestion. and buck was then sense known as O-09-1-777. Everything slots. though he gets very annoyed when he's called such, preferring his name.

lord its so dark in here the sahara desert of tsaritsa content you are like a shining oasis. your characterisation of her compels me & mihoyo would be hard pressed to top it imo.!! caaaaan i humbly request yr thoughts on her first meeting w a reader of any kind, or maybe even multiple kinds (sagau, sagau god au, isekai, etc) if you so desire...

it really is like a desert here. being the fan of a character we aren't getting until the last damn nation is driving me up a wall but i will persevere bc if nothing else i support morally bankrupt women in media. we r in a severe drought over here but i do my best. unfortunately nothing i say is ever coherent so pull out your translation notes its abt 2 be messy

also this got out of hand but thats bc first meetings w the tsaritsa are tricky to write + a LOT of her characterization lies in deeper exploration then just surface level yknow...NOT A DIG AT YOU this is just my excuse for rambling. gently pats the tsaritsa she can hold so much complexity i do not have the word count to delve into it completely :]

gonna talk cult au for a bit here though because that's 99% of my content. and honestly? she thrives in sub au's of the cult au like villain au + imposter au. it's basically made for her. i mean, early days, the imposter au had been going around for a little while but one of the first few ideas was the Fatui taking reader in so like. it kinda technically actually was. pretty sure cult au Tsaritsa popped up because of the imposter au. a lot of it's writers kinda left though which. man am i getting old or.

anyway.

there isn't much of a chance her first impression is all that positive. at best it's usually neutral, imo, but rarely if ever positive. specifically because i view the Tsaritsa as someone who isn't as fanatical as most of the acolytes typically are towards the creator. she's not exactly going to worship the ground you walk on unlike a certain geo lizard. which is partially why i think she thrives in the sub au's i mentioned.

imposter au, for example. she meets you at your lowest. there's no gaudy extravagance or pampering from the acolytes waiting for you because your own acolytes have turned on you. for all intents and purposes you aren't a "god" at all. which is why i don't think she meshes well with normal cult au reader. the Fatui are made up of outcasts, basically, and imposter au slots right in just perfectly. you're weak, at your lowest, when you meet the Fatui in the imposter au. and the Fatui can help you, too.

a mutual exchange, really. the Tsaritsa sees a tool she can use to one up the rest of the nations and especially Archons, and she has no qualms about you using her and the Fatui in turn. you both want something out of it, after all. whether you just want to be safe from the rest of the acolytes, or you want revenge, or whatever else..she'll give you the power to fulfill it, and she gains the strongest piece on the chessboard when all is said and done.

the best way i can describe the first meeting is "practical", i suppose. she sees an opportunity in you. the ultimate gamble. because if she "saves" you, and you dont trust anyone else because they tried to kill you, well..she holds all the cards, doesn't she?

but the Tsaritsa, imo, is just as capable of being just as fanatical towards you as anyone else. she just won't worship you as the creator. but as yourself? clawing your way back to your divine power and taking back what belongs to you? the Tsaritsa is, to me, a character who's character flourishes in long-term fics more because she changes a LOT between "just met reader" and after having been with reader for some time. she's practically apathetic at the beginning but a lot of her character, in my characterization, shines through LONG after the first meeting.

The mourning over losing his only family to portals and fate ebbs from his chest, escapes through the laugh he lets out, incredulous and elated, maybe slightly hysterical, but Legend lets one out that sounds much the same, so he feels a bit more justified in it.

Instantly, the present burn in his chest snuffs out, smoke in his lungs and soot on his bones, and the hello, good morning, I love you, wants to pour out of him like water to a rickety dam.

I keep thinking of a Mobrei soulmate AU to the tune of the fic Polarity by Writeous specifically where you have a soulmark but the TRUE bond is that whenever you share blood with your soulmate, you travel back in time to a time they needed support as an invisible phantom that can only interact with them—and I'm just picturing the first time Reigen and Mob swap blood to confirm and Reigen getting yeeted back into a chaotic nursery room in the middle of the night, tiny ???% Mob floating above his crib crying and wailing as his things fly around him at high speeds and his parents watch helplessly from the doorway. And Reigen, who literally probably learned about his tiny soulmate like ten minutes ago, considering—sighs and just scoops the wailing baby Mob out of the air and holds him. And, since ???% is the one awake, he can see Reigen and is able to interact with him more before Mob calms back down and wakes back up. By then, Mob's parents (why do we never get their NAMES) have kinda scolded themselves for not helping their own child and being afraid of him, enough that this became a moment his soulmate needed to step in, and they come in to take back over—thus Reigen's first big change to Mob's life.

Reigen, however, had a very different experience with his soulmate and is incredibly reluctant to activate the bond after they've confirmed it—because while Mob and everyone else thinks it's platonic, Reigen, who has experienced far more soulmate visits than Mob has at that point, knows that it isn't. But of course, like fate always does, circumstances have them activating the bond far more than he'd like. He's there, afterwards, for every moment Mob needs him, like a delayed memory.

Because he still remembers every time Mob was there for him, even if he doesn't know it yet.
