a small comic i started foreeeeever ago but never posted bc i wasnt happy with the poses so i tweaked it a little :3 much happier with how it looks now
I will say this was originally a vent comic but my feelings on the matter have sense changed. I used to struggle with romantic validation for a REALLY long time (sometimes i still do) but honestly i have really fulfilling relationships so why should it matter who finds me attractive or not! as long as im happy with myself
also this comic isnt saying that romantic relationships are better than platonic ones or anything like that, it was just to reflect on my own insecurity in the field. plus sometimes people just yearn!
anyway i hope this can resonate with people or whatevs, charlie daydreamers continues to be my vessel for all forms of projection <3

Too tired to do my obligations, but too stressed out to sleep, so here we find ourselves again.
This, once again, got horribly long- so long, in fact, I think this is the longest post in this 'trilogy'-, so I apologize in advance (╥ᆺ╥;) I also apologize for the lack of doodles, but dont worry! Im preparing a special one for later <33

After that night where SY offered Binghe an umbrella, things have certainly… changed. Unlike before, where SY spent most of his time mapping away at the ridiculously complex castle hallways and carefully marking away which times it was most likely for SY to be able to get close to Xin Mo, alongside doing his ‘servant’ duties of gathering dirty laundry and cleaning a room here and there, his routine had been suddenly adjusted; now, while he still needed to do everything he was doing before, his servant duties consisted of accompanying the chosen Wife Of The Day.
Or, well, that’s how one of the higher ranking staff had put it, that he was to attend to whatever wife Lord Luo decided to entertain for the day, but honestly, SY was starting to suspect that that had been a convoluted way for Binghe to have SY around whenever he wanted, which…. Was frankly quite worrying! To have the golden protagonist keep his eyes glued on his back almost every second they were in the same room, which - if SY looked back- usually led to Binghe looking away in a (bad) attempt to pretend he wasn’t glaring daggers at SY was more than enough for SY to think the Emperor was probably plotting his demise.
What else could it be? Specially with the way Binghe’s hand seemed to always be lightly tugging at the tassel on his hair every time SY caught him looking, he suspects Binghe had caught onto SY not actually being a servant, and instead that weird guy he saw before he fell into hell that one time. What if Binghe thought SY was somehow involved into the Abyss Incident?? Lord Luo, please have mercy on this servant!
Though, maybe the strangest part of it all, was that sometimes Binghe and SY would just… talk. Usually when the Wife Of The Day was doing something else (e.g. playing music for her husband, or practicing archery, or doing anything that didn’t involve LBH 100% at her side), Binghe would just start musing out loud about the strangest things. It started with questions that were all fair to ask, like ‘How come this servant is a human in the demon realm’, or ‘How come this servant has such short hair’ (SY bullshitted something about being a former slave) but eventually it shifted to questions that were a bit more… random. Or, well, not even questions, musings that Binghe muttered out loud but clearly wanted SY’s input.
It started with minimal things, like Binghe wondering about some type of monster he wanted to fight but he forgot how to do it without damaging the fur too much, which, after a minute of silence and a not-so-subtle look at SY, led to SY nerding out and saying not only the monsters weakness, but what could be done with every important part of the body. Though, the day after that SY realized how strange it was that Binghe was wondering that out loud, since he only fought that monster well into his time as an Emperor, and he swore he remembered one of the wives gushing about her new bracelet that was made from the rare bones of that creature just a few days ago…
Anyways, it continued with questions of similar nature: musings on how to kill a monster Binghe would have no problem killing, to what he should eat for dinner, to what gift should he get for Wife Of The Day. Of course, SY answered all the ‘questions’, and sometimes they even made it to having an actual conversation! Sure, it was a little stilted, SY could not figure out for the life of him why the great Lord Luo was interacting with a random servant, but one day it all finally clicked to him. Binghe had been in the middle of ‘musing’ about hair oils(??), when SY couldn’t help but interrupt him:
“Ah…. Apologies if this lowly servant is overstepping, My Lord, but does My Lord just want someone to talk to?”
A few emotions flashed through Binghe's face quickly enough for SY to not be able to decifer any of them, but eventually landing on a sheepish smile. "This Lord has been found out."
Oh, how cute! And how sad! SY had noticed when SQH was just showing him his shitty story how sad that LBH, even after getting the world to bow at his feet, never really had friendships. Sure, he still had all the love he could want, but sometimes people need friends to talk to, not lovers!
While he knew that he shouldn't interact with characters in world overlooked by the System unless they were transmigrators, SY couldn't help but feel that the situation was dire enough that LBH would turn to a no-name servant in this time of desperation. And it would be a great opportunity to study Xin Mo more closely as well! If SY showed LBH the wonders of friendship, maybe he could pass by his supervisor that he only had to do what was necessary for this world to not implode on itself.
Besides, who could even say no to such a handsome man such as LBH? Is as the old saying goes: what the protagonist wants, he shall have.
*
SY's friendship plan has been going great! After figuring out Binghe's intentions, it seems all of the protagonists reservations flew out the window, and SY was now responsible for being Binghe's personal retainer. Not that that meant too much, since Binghe liked to bend the rules to his liking, and some tasks that should be SY's responsability sometimes were pushed to another servant or Binghe himself made them (which, ???)
Mostly, SY stood at Binghe's side, served tea, was used so Binghe could bounce ideas off of someone, and tended to finer details. All of that very much manageable, if not for the weird mood swings LBH would have sometimes. Yuan, as he has told Binghe was his name after being too scared of the repercutions of using 'Shen', was to accompany him all the time, but sometimes not all the time, or else LBH would get moody; Yuan was to listen to LBH's ideas and plans, and should always comment back or else Binghe would feel neglected, but not too much or else, as LBH had put it, could 'bring back bad memories'; Yuan was to tend to LBH's night routine, even as far as to brush his hair, and if he refused LBH (again) get all moody, but he couldn't brush too much, and he had to do at least one braid but NEVER touch the old, frizzy braid that still had that damn tassle-
Honestly, it was a careful game of balance, which reminded SY more often than not of a child that got mad when their older sibling didn't quite understand the redundant rules they made for a make-believe. Any other person would get fed up, and probably scared of Binghe's constant mood swings, but SY had him all figured out, and his resilience proved to be useful time and time again, since most of the time after his sour mood passed, Binghe would come crawling back with the most pitiful face ever, and what was SY to do? As LBH's friend, it was his duty to hug him and pat his head! (And no one could judge him for that, since if he didn't pat Binghe's head, his mood would plummet all over again.)
Though... SY did feel kind of bad. He wouldn't be able to stay with Binghe forever, and would even need to potentially steal his all-powerful sword for a little bit so everything wouldn't get corrupted. Honestly, the only thing keeping SY from worrying about being labled as a traitor and potentially getting killed was that he would just go back to the System's office and go on with his life.
*
LBH, eventually, caught onto SY's plan on leaving - really, it was only a matter of time. After that fateful encounter with that other SQQ, LBH had found himself in rather pitiful state, questioning everything he knew until that moment and wondering why he couldn't achieve that happiness, and desperately trying to search for a SQQ of his own. He had contemplated going back to that first world, but what would it even matter? Even if he took SQQ by force, his heart would still be with that other LBH, and Binghe couldn't bear the thought that he wouldn't be everything in SQQ's world, as he had become for LBH.
Specially after Meng Mo had one day interupted his carefully crafted dream of an idelic world and pointed out some curious memories he'd almost forgotten about. That day, when back in his childhood, when he'd been beaten up by a buch of older kids and hallucinated a man in strange clothes before passing out and waking up protected from the rain. Or when he thought he'd lost his jade pendant forever, only to magically appear in the cabin later.
Or the strange man in the Immortal Alliance Conference.
After SQQ- SJ , that good-for-nothing scum- pushed him to the Abyss, he tried his best to never think about that day again, too scared by how weak he'd been, pleading to man that would sell his soul for one more night at that brothel of his if he could, but now... Now that he could mold his dreamscape any way he wanted, he could look back with a clear mind, which eventually led to the conclusion: It must have been the same person. The same strangely dressed man that helped him in his childhood somehow appeared at the Immortal Alliance again, and even had left provisions right next to where Binghe had fallen.
He'd convinced himself, after many, many years of wishing for a miracle, that he's simply imagined the man, one last thread to keep himself from going insane, but after meeting the other SQQ...
And then Yuan came in. A new servant that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
It took some observation, and a lot preparing himself to face dissapointment that maybe he was just projecting, putting the image of someone else onto a random man, but that day, when LBH was wondering if he was just wasting time, that that beautiful dream of having his version of SQQ would not happen any time in this world, that maybe he really should just go look at other worlds; after all, if it happened once, it had to happen again, right? Not that it mattered in the end, since while he spireled, much to Xin Mo's pleasure, an umbrella was put over his head, and all his doubts had washed away.
Yuan had to be his version of SQQ, it had to be. And after all his effort of getting close to him, after going so far to keep Yuan at his side, even if he still battled with that his perception of SJ and the other SQQ sometimes overlapping with Yuan's image, even if he still wasn't ready to let go of that one braid, he was becoming more and more sure in his assumption that his SQQ had come to him. Everything was going as planned, and LBH was in track to finally begin to properly court him, and yet-
He was sure Yuan wanted to leave. He wasn't sure why, not how he would do that, maybe just dissapear like he had all those years ago and either only appear again 5, 10, 100 years in the future or go back to wherever he came from in the first place. But LBH knew Yuan wanted to leave, that he needed to complete whatever mission he had (after LBH managed to pry that out of his dreams, which where another source of confusion, with how absurdly difficult they were to even get a grasp of), and that, under any circumstances, he could let Yuan escape his sight.
Not again. Never again.
Tumblr media
Binghe had become even stickier in the last few weeks. Not that SY minded, it was very cute to see such a different side from the cool, badass Lord Luo, but SY was running out of time. Since Binghe became stickier, his mood swings had worsened even more, now not wanting SY to be anywhere that Binghe wasn't, and Xin Mo seemed to be thriving off of whatever was making Binghe extra protective, though it was becoming a genuine problem now, since Binghe suddenly refused to see any of his wive's to deal with the Xin Mo problem, and he seemed to be on the verge of qi deviation at all times.
In fact, the only reason Binghe hadn't already qi deviated was because SY was abusing his Personal System and chipping away at the qi deviation in Binghe's night routine, since it was the only time where he was physically very close to Binghe and could spend long periods of time manually coding away at the System screen without it looking suspicious.
But, as if that wasn't enough of a problem, since Xin Mo was having the time of it's life recently, the virus clinging to the sword was also getting stronger, leaving even more residuals all along the castle and bordering on infecting Binghe himself.
His Scissors where thankfully, repaired, and his sweet, sweet manager was even kind enough to send him some extra energy supplies, but at the rate the virus was spreading, he was worrying that he would have to deal with the source as soon as possible or else it would become to strong to deal with it in a non-destructive way.
He... Didn't want to leave Binghe just yet, specially since he wanted SY's attention more than ever recently, but...
No, he needed to do this; their time together was never supposed to be eternal anyways, and if he let the virus spread, he would only be putting LBH's life in danger, and he couldn't continue living with himself after that. He decided he would fix the virus at night, while Binghe slept, and by the next morning he would be gone - he would have, after all, just enough energy to go back to the office.
He just hoped Binghe would be able to forgive him later.
When night came, and SY got to doing the usual night preparations, it just felt like an extra needle being stabbed in his heart when, while brushing Binghe's hair, Binghe looks back uncharacteristicly anxious, and asks if SY can undo the braid and remake it. SY does, and if Binghe notices SY takes extra long to pamper him that night, he says nothing.
Tumblr media
When SY is sure Binghe is asleep, he sneaks out of his room and heads to back to Binghe's. Yeah, maybe he stalls a bit with snipping off every piece of the residual virus he came across, but one could argue he was just being extra thorough with his job.
The excuse, unfortunately, didn't last long and eventually he found himself in front of Binghe's room, staring at the door as if he was about to be sentenced to death. After a few minutes of reminding himself that he needed to do this, he took a deep breath and slowly opened the doors. Binghe usually slept with the sword perched right beside his bed, so SY would probably have to use the System and put Binghe in an extra deep sleep if he wanted to make sure the other didn't wake-
The moment he places a foot inside, though, he realizes something is wrong; the room is empty, Binghe is not asleep in his bed and Xin Mo is not besides the bed. Oh, oh no, had Binghe-
"A-Yuan." Binghe says, and SY nearly jumps as he turns around. There LBH stands in the middle of the hallway, not even in his sleeping robes, with a hand clutched tightly on Xin Mo's handle. His eyes are watery but no tears spill.
SY tries to speak but finds he doesn't even know what to say, he can't even try to deny that he's up to something, since his gigantic Scissors are just out an about. Still, he tries to make Binghe understand, say that he needs to do this, and after this Binghe won't have to worry about anything anymore. Though it barely seems like Binghe is listening, and eventually just cuts in when SY starts to say anything in his panic.
"This is what A-Yuan wants, right?" He asks, extending one arm and presenting the glitched out Xin Mo. SY doesn't even have the chance to find an excuse, as Binghe immediately continues. "Than take it."
"Wh- Huh?" "Take it."
He's so shocked he almost drops his Scissors. What does he mean 'take it'??? Binghe has to know everything that's at stake here! He doesn't even know what SY wants to do with it! He tries to say that, how Binghe shouldn't just hand the sword to anyone like that, but a sudden burst of energy set his priorities straight. Shit- The virus! It's growing by the second, at this point SY will have to cut Xin Mo-
"...Binghe, I-" "I don't care what A-Yuan wants with Xin Mo! Take it, use it, break it if you want, I don't care! But if A-Yuan takes it, than he will have to stay." "Binghe, that's not..." "Why not?! That's your goal, right? Do whatever it is that you want to do with Xin Mo? Than here you go, A-Yuan can do it, but I won't let you leave me again."
SY can't even mask when his eyes dart towards the tassle on Binghe's new braid. Binghe just clenched his jaw, but it feels like confirmation enough.
He adjusts his grip on the Scissors, and, as he has nothing else to hide, dispels the System's illusion, his simple clothes glitching out to reveal the System's uniform. Binghe's eyes fill even more with tears, but none fall."
"I... I'll have to go back, Binghe." "No." "Binghe, listen to me, I-" "No. No! A-Yuan will get Xin Mo, and then he will stay." "I-" "You will stay! I can't-" Binghe can't even finish his sentence before he has to choke out a sob.
The virus starts warping the air around it, and slowly crawling up Binghe's arm. SY's decision has practically been made for him. He lifts the Scissors. Binghe pushes Xin Mo forward.
"...I'll come back." "A-Yuan-" "I'll come back, Binghe." One single tear falls and his arm jerks, not knowing if he trusts SY's words or not. He still his arm as the Scissor blades encircle Xin Mo.
"A-Yuan..." "I'll come back, I promise." "..." "I promise."
"......Okay."
Shen Yuan cuts Xin Mo.

The village had been bustling for days with preparations, each corner alive with whispered prayers and hushed conversations. The townsfolk moved with purpose, weaving wreaths of wildflowers, crafting intricate charms, and marking the paths leading out of the village with symbols meant to call for protection. For as long as you could remember, this ritual had been woven into the very fabric of your lives—a grim promise to the gods in exchange for your survival.
The choice of the next offering was as natural as the changing of the seasons. From the moment you were old enough to understand, it had been gently yet unmistakably instilled in you that you were the one. The elders and your family had called it a blessing, stating how you are their savior and how you would be remembered for many years down the road. You, on the other hand, did not think much about it.
Your village has gone through one natural disaster after another. At first, it was raining cats and dogs to the point that your rooftop collapsed, nearly crushing you and your parents who were taking shelter. Followed by the blight, stealing your precious food and water sources, leaving the villagers on the verge of starving to death. Anyone with eyes could tell everyone was reaching their limit and they had to do something, fast. And that was how you came in.
As the sky turned a bruised shade of twilight, the leader of your village, accompanied by a few elders, arrived at your doorstep. Their expressions were somber but resolved. The leader, a man with deep-set wrinkles, nodded in acknowledgment as you opened the door.
“We’re here to remind you, child,” he began, his voice soft but unwavering, “that tomorrow will mark the day-”
“Don’t worry, I won’t run,” you interrupted, knowing the implications behind his words. Your response had an immediate effect on him, judging from how his shoulders sagged with relief and he nodded before leaving, allowing you to close the door.
The night before the offering, your family gathered for what you knew would be your final meal together. None of your parents uttered a single word to you, both were frighteningly calm despite how their one and only daughter would be sent away and never returning. But you have grown used to their silent treatment. In your eyes, they were not your parents but instead, just a couple who had taken it upon themselves to ensure you grow up well enough to fit the role of a sacrifice. Nothing more and nothing less.
The next day, you were dressed in simple, white robes—an offering garb provided by the village elders. It felt surreal, as if you were watching someone else preparing for this cruel fate that was bestowed upon you; an unfortunate victim. You stepped out of your house, turning to see your parents standing by the entrance with unreadable expressions on their faces. As much as you wished to just turn and walk away, you could not.
“...Thank you for everything,” you bowed and left without waiting for their response. Although, your ears picked up the faint sounds of muffled sobbing but you did not bother to turn around.
You continued walking to the main entrance of the village, where the priest and a small group of elders waited. They said little as they guided you along a path toward the mountainside, where legend held that the gods sometimes descended to receive their offerings. Finally, you reached a quiet clearing surrounded by ancient trees, their trunks thick and twisted, casting shadows that seemed to deepen as the sun began to rise.
The air felt thick, almost alive, as if the shadows themselves were watching, waiting. The priest performed a brief ritual, murmuring words that faded into the air. There was only silence when he finished, broken by the faint rustling of leaves and the distant call of a bird.
The shadows in the trees seemed to grow darker, the light around us dimming until the forest was bathed in an unnatural twilight. The air stilled, a deep, suffocating silence settling over everyone. Then, a gust of icy wind swept through, sending chills down your spine. You felt a presence—a weight that pressed down on the space around you, as if the shadows themselves had taken form. Whispers seemed to drift through the darkness, soft and unsettling. Your heart hammered as you scanned the treeline, searching for any sign of movement.
And then, he appeared.
Riki, the God of Shadows, emerged from the dark like a living specter. His figure seemed to dissolve into the surrounding shadows and then coalesce again, each step a silent ripple across the ground. He wore black robes that seemed to move on their own accord, the fabric shifting and swirling around him as though woven from darkness itself. His face was otherworldly—beautiful, yet cold, with eyes like polished obsidian. Those eyes settled on you, sharp and unyielding, his gaze as penetrating as a blade.
Gasps and stifled cries echoed behind you as the villagers took in the sight of him. No one had ever seen the God of Shadows before. Legends spoke of him as a faceless presence, a mysterious deity who commands fear everywhere he goes. But here he was, standing in your midst, as real as the earth beneath your feet. His piercing gaze swept over the trembling villagers for a fleeting moment before settling on you, his eyes holding a strange, unreadable expression.
Your body felt frozen, caught between terror and awe. As he approached, the shadows seemed to bow to him, the darkness shifting and folding around his every step. He stopped just a few centimeters away, studying you with an unreadable expression. His silence stretched, heavy and oppressive, as if he was measuring your every soul.
“You must the offering,” he said, eyes fixated on you and for a brief moment, you wondered if he had the ability to look into your soul.
You struggled to find your voice, but somehow, you managed to nod. "Yes… I am."
His expression softened ever so slightly, though his expression remained unreadable. “Do you understand what this means?”
His question hung in the air, but before you could speak, someone amongst the crowd of villagers had spoken up, interrupting the tense silence.
The elder who had paid you a visit yesterday, stepped forward. “No,” he said, his voice trembling yet determined. “This is not right. You should not be here, Riki.”
His words wavered, but he pressed on, his gaze fierce as he continued. “You are not a god. You are nothing but a shadow, a curse cast upon this world. You are not worthy to be a god.”
Murmurs of uncertainty rippled through the gathered villagers. Some looked on in silent awe at Riki, while others shrank back, afraid but unwilling to show it. Riki’s eyes shifted, his gaze cold and unwavering as he turned his attention to the elder, a sharp, disdainful sneer pulling at the corners of his mouth.
"And what would you know of gods, old man?" Riki’s voice was like the quietest whisper, yet somehow it seemed to resonate over the crowd, filling the air with a foreboding chill. "I have existed longer than your ancestors have drawn breath. You speak of what you do not understand."
The elder, visibly shaking now, stubbornly held his ground, puffing himself up with a courage born of desperation. "You are not welcome here," he insisted, raising a hand as if he could ward off the god of shadows with a single gesture. "I command you to leave."
Before anyone could react, another elder, perhaps emboldened by his comrade’s words, lunged forward, a crude charm in hand. He thrust it toward Riki, chanting something incoherent, his voice trembling with conviction. But before he could close the distance, Riki merely lifted a hand, his expression unfazed and almost bored.
A dark shadow surged from Riki’s fingers, swift and effortless. The elder was caught mid-step, swept off his feet by an invisible force. The charm slipped from his fingers, falling uselessly to the ground as he was thrown back, landing in the dirt with a gasp of pain. The villagers gasped, horror dawning on their faces as they watched the elder struggle to sit up, visibly shaken.
"Any other brave souls?" Riki’s voice dripped with mocking amusement as he scanned the crowd, his sneer deepening. Shadows coiled around him, dark tendrils that seemed to pulse with his heartbeat, amplifying the unsettling power radiating from him. No one dared to move. Whispers rippled through the villagers as they shrank back, clutching each other in fright, eyes wide as they took in the extent of his power.
You stood frozen, caught between terror and awe as you observed the scene unfold itself from head to toe. Riki turned back to you, his expression softening just a fraction, his gaze still intense but tempered with something unreadable.
“Now,” he murmured, his voice only for your ears. “Do you understand the gravity of the situation you are in? The moment you agree, you have to leave your old life behind and you will not return anymore.”
You opened your mouth to speak, but the words would not come. How could you even explain your choice? The pressure of so many watching eyes, the weight of your village’s expectations… In truth, you had not understood what it truly meant to be an offering until this very moment, standing before a god.
Riki’s eyes flickered, as though picking up on your hesitation. His voice softened, though it held a strange kind of power. “You are not here by accident. You were chosen—whether by fate or by their desperation." He glanced at the huddled villagers, his gaze unreadable. "But what you offer is not mere obedience. To stay by my side is a choice that you, and only you, can make. Are you ready to accept that?"
As you looked at the villagers, you saw no sign of your parents. You remembered how the villagers had treated you and that was when you made up your mind: you will leave this life behind and start a new life, this time with Riki by your side.
“I will accept that,” you said, your voice a whisper meant for him only, “but on one condition.”
Riki arched an eyebrow. “And what would that condition be? Tell me, and I will make it come true.”
“Let them die,” you said, voice unwavering. “Let the village fall. I am no longer tied to them. If I am to be your offering, then they deserve nothing from you. Not your protection, nor your mercy.”
Riki’s expression shifted, a glimmer of surprise in his gaze, followed by an intrigue that darkened the depths of his eyes. He regarded you in silence, his lips curving into a faint smile that carried both admiration and something darker—a recognition of your resolve.
“You would see them perish?” he murmured, studying you with a newfound intensity. “The very same people who raised you, who sheltered you? You wish to abandon them to their fate?”
You nodded, your voice growing steadier with every word. “They have abandoned me first. If they are so willing to sacrifice me to save themselves, then let them face the consequences of their choice. They should no longer be your concern… nor mine.”
A flicker of satisfaction flashed in Riki's eyes, as if he found something in your words that pleased him. His shadows pulsed, swirling like a storm gathering in the depths of his power. He steps closer and closer, only stopping until you are within distance. You fought the urge to flinch when he reached out a hand to caress your cheek with such gentleness that you would have assumed you were lovers. To your surprise, his palm was not cold but instead, it was warm. Warm like a regular mortal’s palm.
“Very well,” he said, his voice a low, velvety whisper that sent a chill down your spine. “Consider your condition accepted.” He paused, leaning close enough that you could feel the faint, icy touch of his power radiating from him. "You are bound to me now, and I will have no ties to this village. They will be left to face whatever comes without my hand to save them."
A strange sense of relief settled within you, a liberation that was both terrifying and exhilarating. You had severed the final thread that connected you to your past, embracing a future that lay in shadows you had yet to understand. The villagers watched in stunned silence, as if sensing the shift between you, but unable to grasp its meaning. Some tried to call out, murmuring half-hearted words of comfort or farewell, but you did not look back.
With a single gesture, Riki enveloped you in his shadows, his power sweeping over you in a cold, dark embrace. The village, with all its fears and demands, disappeared behind a curtain of darkness. You felt nothing as it vanished from sight—no regret, no sorrow.
~
The shadows dispersed, revealing a spacious bedroom unlike any place you have ever seen. A wall of ceiling-to-floor windows stretched along one side of the room, offering a breathtaking view of the ocean below, where waves rolled in dark blue and silver under a twilight sky. The horizon stretched endlessly, blending sea and sky in a seamless, misty line.
The room had a refined yet faintly modern touch. The floor was a smooth, polished stone with a subtle shimmer, and a plush, oversized bed was positioned in the center, draped in soft black and charcoal fabrics. Subtle touches of luxury were scattered throughout—a glass vase on the nightstand with a single dark rose, polished wooden panels along the walls, and a sleek, minimal chandelier that hung above, casting a warm, muted glow over the space. The ceiling was high, while rich, heavy curtains hung beside the window panels, ready to enclose the room in complete privacy when drawn.
Through a set of glass doors, a balcony beckoned, offering an unobstructed view of the vast ocean below. The air was crisp, carrying a hint of salt and mystery, as if this place existed on the very edge of the world. You took a step forward, unable to hide your awe at the majestic space. Turning, you found Riki standing beside you, watching you intently. His gaze held an expectant glimmer, and you noticed him fidgeting slightly, shifting from foot to foot.
He seemed almost…nervous, an unusual expression for someone who commanded such fear and awe from others. It was almost as if he was waiting for you to say something—anything—that would affirm your approval. For a moment, he looked less like a god and more like a young boy eager for praise, his shoulders tensing, fingers brushing against each other absently. He glanced at the room, then back at you, a flicker of insecurity passing over his face.
“What do you think?” he asked, his voice soft but carrying a faint, hopeful note. It was a huge contrast to his intimidating demeanor earlier, but it puts you at ease—knowing that he trusts you enough to show another side of him.
You took a slow breath, allowing a small smile to creep onto your face as you met his gaze. “I think you did a wonderful job.”
Your praise seemed to have an immediate effect on him. His expression softened, relief and a hint of satisfaction crossing his face. The shadows around him settled down, as though your approval had brought him a sense of calm. But curiosity still tugged at you, and you could not hold back the question forming in your mind.
“But why would you do all of this for someone like me?” You asked, voice almost a whisper. “I’m just…a mortal.”
For a moment, the god seemed almost taken aback. Then, a faint smile touched his lips, and his gaze softened, a shadow of something like nostalgia flickered in his eyes. He approached you, closing the distance with every step he took. The shadows around him grew smaller and smaller, until it was only his silhouette being reflected on the floor, making him more humane. He stopped in front of you, maintaining a small distance but he was close enough to make your heart stop beating for a moment.
“You think you’re just a mortal,” he murmured, his voice low and filled with an emotion you could not quite place. His eyes caught the dim light, almost glowing as he continued. “But I have watched you long before you ever knew of my existence. From the moment you were born, I’ve been there… drawn to you in ways I couldn’t explain.”
You looked at him, startled, and he gave a small, almost bashful smile, as if he, the God of Shadows, was admitting a secret.
“Every year, I would watch you grow, seeing glimpses of your life,” he continued. “Your kindness, your loyalty… even your pain. I’ve seen it all.” His voice softened as he looked down for a brief moment, as if remembering the countless moments he had witnessed.
“And as you grew,” he went on, “I couldn’t help but feel… connected to you. Bound by something more powerful than time or distance.” He lifted his gaze, and in that moment, his eyes held a warmth that seemed to pierce through the very shadows surrounding him.
"Perhaps that’s why I’ve prepared all this for you,” he finished, his tone barely above a whisper. "You may think you’re merely human, but to me… you have always been someone significant. Someone worth waiting for."
You were speechless as you listened to him. If he was not a god, you would have assumed he was a regular human being, just a simple boy who had finally plucked up his courage to confess. But the mere fact that he was a god, someone who deserves respect and someone who can destroy anything and everything standing in his path, is spilling his heart out to you: a mortal, does wonders to your heart.
“I… I don’t know what to say,” you stuttered over your word and Riki chuckled, finding great amusement in your embarrassment.
“You don’t have to say anything. The last thing I want is to pressure you to make the wrong choice,” the smile he gave you does not meet his eyes and for a moment, you felt remorseful for your response but he continued. “How about I give you a tour of the apartment? I’m sure you'll find it to be a lovely and comfortable place to stay in.”
The entire apartment was enveloped in a faintly modern elegance that mirrored the bedroom’s luxurious yet mysterious design, with muted tones, shadowy corners, and fine details that hinted at his taste. It was grand yet inviting, a place built to impress without overwhelming.
You walked beside him as he led you out of the bedroom. Both of you had to walk a short distance to the flight of curved stairs. You almost slipped and would have ungracefully tumbled down the stairs if Riki did not steadied you in the nick of time. You felt your ears flushed red when you felt his large hands rested on the sides of your waist, his fingers nearly touching. Your back rested against his chest, upper body slightly tilted backward.
“You should be more careful, unless you want me to carry you around to prevent you from slipping,” he teased, his hot breath grazing against the back of your neck with every word he spoke. The angle was awkward, considering how he was standing a few steps behind you, making him tower over your figure.
“No thank you, I don’t want to be a bother,” you apologized, straightening yourself as you moved away and continued your descent down the stairs until you reached the first floor.
The living room was stunning. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows stretched along the far wall, allowing the view of the dark ocean to blend with the room itself. The ocean shimmered faintly under the evening sky, casting a soft, silver glow over the space. A set of deep charcoal couches framed the room, their plush cushions adorned with silken pillows in shades of obsidian and slate. The furniture was both elegant and comfortable, almost inviting you to sink into its embrace.
In the center of the room was a sleek, low glass coffee table, artfully arranged with a few ornate candles and a bowl filled with obsidian stones. Nearby, a minimalist fireplace embedded within the wall flickered with a cold, bluish flame, casting an ethereal glow that filled the room with a soft warmth.
Bookshelves lined one side of the living room, filled with volumes bound in leather and delicate metalwork. A series of framed, abstract paintings in muted grays and blues adorned the walls, blending seamlessly with the room’s monochromatic theme. Elegant, unobtrusive lighting was scattered strategically across the ceiling, casting a soft, almost magical glow that danced along the floor and highlighted the darker elements of the decoration.
Riki glanced over his shoulder as you took it all in, his eyes glimmering with a quiet, almost bashful pride. He waited for you to take in the details, his posture relaxed yet attentive, as though he was searching your face for any sign of approval or delight.
He gestured subtly to the window, where the balcony beyond opened to the endless expanse of ocean and sky. “This is your view,” he said, his voice barely above a murmur, “as long as you’re here.”
You stepped forward, getting closer to the opened row of windows as you rested your hands on the railings. You took in the jaw-dropping view with awe and amazement written all over your face. Riki stood by your left but you were too entranced by the view to even notice that he was admiring your expression, with a soft smile on his face.
“Why do you make it sound like I have a choice in the first place? I came here on my free will,” you replied in a light-hearted manner, although that was not the implication Riki got. Instead, he looked rather guilty for a moment before he composed himself.
“Do you regret coming here?” He murmured, sounding almost afraid the moment the words left his lips.
You turned to him. “No, I don’t,” you paused, forming your jumbled thoughts into proper sentences. The god was surprised at how easily you answered his question as you continued, “I don’t feel any connection to the people there. To them, I was nothing but merely a disposable pawn, nothing more and nothing less. That’s why I chose to leave my old life behind and start a new life from scratch.”
Riki hums in acknowledgement. “You might not believe me, but I think that’s very brave of you to forgo your past.”
“What’s this? I didn’t expect to hear a god praising a human being,” you teased. Your remark was enough to make him exasperatedly roll his eyes, “but thank you, Riki. That means a lot coming from someone like you,” you continued, your voice filled with sincerity as you thanked him.
He smiled and with the way a gentle gust of wind blew past, causing his hair to fly about combined with the setting sunlight hitting his face in just the right angle, made your breath hitch in your throat. You were momentarily caught off-guard with how attractive he looked, especially with how he had bangs partially shielding his left eye. Realizing you were staring at him in prolonged silence, you awkwardly cleared your throat and tore your eyes away from him.
“W-Well, I think it’ll be best for me to uh, take a shower,” you squeaked out, dashing back into the living room without waiting for his response, leaving the amused god behind.
~
You spent the next few weeks familiarizing yourself with the apartment, exploring every inch to your heart’s content. Your relationship with Riki was unknown. It was neither romantic or platonic, at least that was what you think. He treats you well and you are living a comfortable and luxurious life, thanks to his status. Being a god has many advantages, and one of them means whatever you wish for, it will appear before your face. All the god had to do was to snap his fingers and be it clothes, food or accessories, it will appear out of thin air.
You knew his title but yet, you could not help but be curious of his other abilities, other than the ones you have seen and heard of, bringing you to your current situation. You were laying on the sofa in the living room, your head resting on the armrest with your right leg propped up as you rested your left leg over your right knee. You were engrossed in reading a book to the point that you were oblivious that Riki had made his appearance.
“What are you reading?”
You visibly flinched, dropping the book and yelped when it landed squarely on your nose. Groaning, you removed the book to see the culprit responsible for scaring you appearing in your sight. He stood near the armrest of the sofa, looking down at you, amused with your reaction. You shot him a glare as you pushed yourself up, placing your bookmark between the two pages you last stopped at.
“Don’t do that again or I might die due to a heart attack,” you scowled, lightly smacking his shoulder.
“That won’t happen, and even if it did, I can merely make it start again,” he shrugged his shoulders. Riki sat on the armrest with one knee resting on the edge. He leans over slightly to get a glimpse of the book cover, only for him to quirk an eyebrow when he recognized the title.
“I didn’t know you’re a romantic at heart,” he commented, silently patting his lap.
You rolled your eyes, adjusting your position so you could rest your head on his lap, as per his request. He preens at your obedience, running his hand through your hair and your eyelids fluttered close at his touch.
“Where were you?” You asked, eyes glancing up to him. You closed your eyes when he poked your forehead.
“I was busy with something, nothing you have to worry about,” he casually replied but you were not pleased with his vague response.
“Tell me, unless you’re hiding something from me,” you accused, narrowing your eyes as you pushed yourself up, turning to face him. He dropped his hand, resting it on his clothed knee and stared at you, the corners of his lips threatening to curl upwards.
You frowned, “Did you went out there killing—”
You were cut off mid-sentence when Riki cupped your face, tilting it up for him to slot your lips together. This was not the first time he had kissed you to silence you and it always works. His lips pressed against yours, firm yet tender and you felt your heart leap in response. The kiss was unhurried, as if he were savoring each moment, each breath. When he finally pulled away, his eyes held a mischievous glint, an unspoken answer lingering in his gaze.
“Some questions,” he murmured, voice low, almost teasing as he drew circles on your cheek, “are better left for another time.”
You blinked up at him, feeling a mix of frustration and curiosity swirling in your chest. You furrowed your eyebrows slightly, the beginnings of a protest forming on your lips as you opened your mouth to speak. But Riki’s expression softened, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. Before you could utter a word, he leaned in again, silencing your unspoken question with another kiss; more intense than the previous kiss. His arms traveled down to wrap around your waist, pulling you closer as his lips moved against yours, warm and coaxing, unraveling any resistance you might have.
You could feel your body going pliant in his grip. You rested your hands on his shoulders; a habit you had gained as you parted your lips upon feeling him asking for permission. A breathy whine was ripped from the depths of your throat when his tongue explored your cavern with one, thorough lick. You grabbed a fistful of his abyssal-like hair, roughly tugging it when he teasingly bit down on your lip. Your action elicited a pleased sigh that you eagerly swallowed.
His fingers threaded through your hair, anchoring you as his touch grew a shade more intense, deeper, making your heart race. Riki slid his hand underneath the shirt you wore—his shirt, to be exact, teasingly moving upwards on your spine. His touch leaves goosebumps in its wake and you shudder; the movement making him smile into the kiss. When he finally pulled away, his previously styled hair was now messed up, with some strands stretching out at different angles. His lips curved into a soft, satisfied smile, his gaze holding yours with a silent promise.
“Trust me,” he murmured, his thumb tracing a gentle line along your swollen bottom lip. “The answers will come in time. But not today.”
You huffed, moving your hands down to grab him by the front of his shirt and tugged him forward. Your sudden action caught him off-guard. Riki’s eyes widened momentarily, his hands tightening around your waist. You shot him a teasing grin, looking at him with half-lidded eyes as you leaned in until your lips were brushing against one another.
“If that’s the case, then how about we picked up where we left off?” You cooed, taking note of how the god’s eyes darkened.
“You’re playing a dangerous game here,” he chuckled, easily carrying you in his arms in one fluid movement. Squeaking, you clung onto him for dear life as he led you to where the bedroom was, “but fine by me, I guess it’s my responsibility to indulge in you once in a while.”
~
You woke up, feeling much refreshed than usual. The thought of the reason made your cheeks flushed red as you squirmed about on the comfortable bed. Your ears picked up the rustling of sheets from behind, only for you to be pulled backward. Your back hit a firm chest and you made no point to turn, not when you knew who it was. Shivers ran down your spine when you felt butterfly kisses planted on the back of your neck.
“Good morning, did you sleep well?” Riki asked, his voice raspy. You remained silent, eyes closed as you pretended you were still sleeping. Although, both of you knew that he could see through your facade. The only form of warning you got was the curl of his lips against your skin before he launched his attack.
“Riki—wait—no!” You managed to squeak out before laughter overtook you.
His fingers moved with relentless intent, tickling you mercilessly. You twisted and turned, trying desperately to escape, but his grip on your waist only tightened, holding you in place.
“Stop! I—can’t—breathe!” You choked out between fits of laughter, swatting at his hands in a futile attempt to fend him off.
His face lit up with a playful grin, a rare boyishness breaking through his usually composed demeanor. “Stop?” he teased, voice lit with mock innocence. “But you look like you’re having fun.”
You glared at him through your laughter, breathless and utterly helpless. Your attempts to wiggle free only seemed to amuse him further, his hold steady as if he were effortlessly taming the chaos he had created.
“Riki, I mean it!” You said through gasps, your voice shaking with laughter as tears pricked the corners of your eyes. “You’re going to—ah—pay for this!”
“Oh?” He smirked, pausing for just a second, his hands still resting on your waist. “And how exactly do you plan to make me pay?” His playful tone and raised brow made it clear he was not the least bit threatened by your empty threat.
You seized the brief moment of reprieve to catch your breath, your heart racing from both the tickling and the laughter. “I—I'll figure it out!” You shot back, squirming away the moment he paused, wanting to create as much distance as you could.
“Good luck with that,” he quipped, deciding to show some mercy.
Riki remained where he was, now sitting up on the bed with the crumpled sheets covering his lap as he observed you getting out of bed. He could not help but snicker when he saw how your legs trembled slightly and how you had to hold onto the nearest surface for support. You shot him a death glare but the god was unfazed. Instead, he sends you an infuriating smirk that makes you have the urge to wipe it off his face.
“Need any help?” He asks, resting his chin on his left fist.
“No thank you, I can handle this by myself,” you retorted, limping your way to the bathroom and pointedly closed the door, shutting out his laughter.
~
When you finished getting dressed, you went to the living room and were greeted by a familiar face who was engaged in what seemed to be a serious conversation with Riki, judging from the solemn expressions on their faces. You moved to the kitchen, wanting to pour yourself a glass of water when your appearance caught their attention.
“Good morning (Name), did you sleep well?” Jay greeted you, giving you a polite and friendly smile as he waved at you from where he sat.
You returned the smile and wave, “Good morning Jay, and yes I did, thank you. What brings you here? It’s rare to see you dropping by,” you asked after greeting him, entering the living room after pouring two glasses of water; one for yourself and one for him.
Jay accepted the glass with a grateful nod of his head while Riki scoffs. “You didn’t have to do that for him,” he said in a sulky tone, pulling you down so you could sit on his lap, his hand resting on your thigh.
Jay blinks at the sight of the two of you before looking at Riki, who took it upon himself to rest his chin on your shoulder before answering you. “It’s nothing you have to worry about, just the regular stuff about our responsibilities.” He downs the water in one go, leaving the now empty glass on the coffee table and rises to his feet.
“I should get going, I wouldn't want to disrupt your time together,” he said, making your ears turn red.
“You weren’t disrupting,” you protested, but the grip on your thigh tightened at your response. Jay merely smiled, biding the both of you farewell before he left without you seeing him out.
“Now that he’s gone, how about we head out today? I think the weather’s perfect,” Riki asked, burying his face in the crook of your neck as he greedily inhaled your scent.
“Where are we going?” You asked, leaning back against him.
“We can descend to the mortal realm and visit a town if you’re keen. I heard there’s a festival happening today,” he proposed.
Hearing this, you instantly turned and your face lit up with excitement at the mention of the festival. “Then what are we waiting for? We should get going.”
You jumped off his lap, rushing up the stairs to the bedroom to get changed. Riki remained where he was, leaning back with his hands resting on the sofa behind him. He observed your retreating figure with a soft smile on his face, endeared with your behavior. It did not take you long to get dressed, choosing comfort over style and when you were done, you went back down to the living room. The god had changed out of his usual clothes, now cladded in black from head to toe. What piqued your interest however, was a pair of thinly-framed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose.
It was unfair how Riki looks even better when all he did was to wear glasses. He smirks when he sees how you were staring at him, mesmerized by the sight. “As much as I’d like for you to keep looking at me, I think we should go before we’re too late.”
His response brought heat to your cheeks, flustered that you were caught red-handed. You held his outstretched hand as he used his ability to bring you to the town where the festival is taking place. Despite having experienced it a few times, you were still not used to the feeling. It was strange, for it feels like all of your senses were ripped away from you, only for them to abruptly return to you when you arrived at your destination.
The shadows dissipate, revealing a lively town with people everywhere. You took in your surroundings with awe, watching as some stopped to look at the store displays that were set up along a straight path. Overwhelmed with excitement, you wasted no time in dragging Riki along to visit one of the nearest stalls. You stopped by the front and were instantly hit with the fragrance of skewers being roasted by the side. Your mouth waters and you point at the row of sticks.
“Hi, I’d like to get two please,” you requested, and the owner nodded, turning two sticks back and forth before handing it to you. Thanking him, you paid the appropriate money and handed one stick to Riki.
“Here, you should try it,” you said, pushing the stick closer to his face. The god scrunches his nose as he warily eyes the food. He ended up leaning forward to take a small nibble and you observed his reaction. You observed how he slowly chewed, eyebrows furrowed with a thoughtful look on his face that was eventually replaced with genuine surprise. The sight of his expressions changing made you laugh. You playfully elbowed him as he took the stick from your grip.
“It’s good, right?” You asked and he nodded, now taking a huge bite out of it.
“Yes, it’s better than I imagined. You seem awfully excited about coming here. Have you never been to a festival before?” He quirked an eyebrow, gently pulling you along so the both of you could venture down the streets to explore the other stalls.
You shook your head with a sad smile, “No, this is my first time. Ever since I was born and the moment I was told I would be used as an offering, my parents forbid me from stepping out of the house. I was practically locked up and they had stolen my freedom.”
Riki hums, running his thumb along your knuckles. “On the bright side, you have your well-deserved freedom now. That doesn’t sound too bad, does it?”
You laughed, squeezing his hand and you felt him return the gesture in a heartbeat. “Yes, I’m as free as a bird now and it’s all thanks to you.”
The next stall that caught your attention was a stall selling charms. Intrigued, you stopped to admire the displays and it seems like the owner was busy with another customer. Riki stood behind you, watching over your shoulder as you purse your lips, pondering on which design to choose. You leaned back to rest your back against his chest, turning your head slightly towards him.
“Do you see any you like?” You asked. He was about to reply when a horrified gasp interrupted your conversation. You faced the front, surprised to see the owner; an elderly woman pointing a bony finger at Riki.
Her lips parted in a gasp of pure horror. “It can’t be…” she whispered, her voice quaking with a mix of fear and disbelief. Her frail frame seemed to shrink further as she pointed a bony finger at Riki, her eyes wide and wild. “The God of Shadows,” she breathed.
Your confusion deepened as you turned to Riki, only to find his expression eerily calm, though a subtle smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. The tension in the air was palpable, as though the shadows around you had grown heavier, darker. The woman’s voice rose in a shaky accusation. “You… you cursed her!” she cried, her words dripping with terror and despair. “That poor girl—she has no idea what you’ve done, does she? How her soul is bound to your darkness!”
You blinked, startled and utterly lost. “What is she talking about?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper as you looked between her and Riki.
But Riki only sneered, the amused glint in his eyes contrasting starkly with the woman’s trembling outrage. “Old habits die hard,” he said lazily, his tone dripping with indifference. “You always were good at spinning tales to scare the gullible.”
The elder woman’s hand shook as she clutched the talisman tighter, her gaze never leaving Riki’s. “This is no tale,” she hissed. “You’ve marked her, haven’t you? She’s yours now, whether she knows it or not.”
Riki’s smirk only widened as he turned his full attention to the elder woman, his shadowy aura growing thicker, almost tangible. “Marked her?” he drawled, his tone dripping with mockery. “Why don’t I show you just how marked she is?”
Before you could react, Riki leaned in, his breath warm against your skin as he pressed a slow, deliberate kiss to your cheek. The gesture was light, fleeting, but it sent a jolt of shock through you—and absolute terror through the stall owner. A blood-curdling scream erupted from her lips, her eyes widening as though she had witnessed the world itself shattering. “No! Stay away from her, you vile creature!” she screeched, her voice cracking with panic.
Her trembling hands fumbled for something on her stall, and in a blur of desperation, she grabbed the nearest item—a ceremonial dagger. Its blade glinted in the dim light, etched with ancient symbols that seemed to hum with power. With surprising speed for someone her age, she lunged at Riki, her face twisted with both fear and determination. “You won’t take her, demon!” she cried as she swung the dagger.
Riki stepped back with effortless grace, but not fast enough. The blade grazed his cheek, leaving a shallow, crimson line in its wake. A single drop of blood trailed down his face, stark against his skin. The crowd around you gasped, a ripple of shock spreading as the tension escalated. But Riki did not flinch. If anything, the sight of the dagger and the sting of the cut only seemed to amuse him further. Your eyes widened at the sight of the crimson liquid. You quickly moved, hands reaching out to cup his face and your left thumb gingerly wiped the blood away, leaving a smudge behind.
“Are you alright?” You murmured, only focused on the god standing before you, despite how you were in the center of everyone’s attention and how they were observing your every movement. Your sudden action caused whispers and murmurs amongst the growing audience but you turned a blind eye to them. None of them were worth your attention. Not when Riki is in front of you.
He leaned into your touch, like a touch-starved cat and nodded, “I’m fine, don’t worry. It’ll heal within seconds.”
The elder woman’s expression twisted in disbelief and fury. “You… You’ve bewitched her!” she spat, pointing the dagger toward him again. “Get out of here, the both of you. I don’t want my business to be ruined.”
Riki smirks, his hand snaking around your waist, pulling you gently yet possessively toward him. “If that’s what you wish. Good luck with your business,” he raised a hand as he directed you away from the stall, raising a hand to bid the fuming woman farewell. It was only when you were out of sight then you questioned him.
“What was that about?” You inquired, curiosity getting the better of you.
“I think she was a shaman and she must’ve seen through my disguise,” he sneers, eyes facing forward as he makes a turn to the left, leading you further away from the crowded street. The people around you were oblivious to the fact that a God was walking amongst them. All of them were too busy minding their respective lives.
“Perhaps I should’ve killed her,” he continues, sounding almost as if he was deep in thought.
You raised an eyebrow at his sentence. “And how would you do that?”
“I have my ways and besides, I’m not the God of Shadows for nothing,” he shrugged his shoulders. “But never mind that, do you still want to continue or are you feeling tired already?”
You sighed, “Let’s go home. My feet are starting to hurt from all the walking we did.”
“Of course.”
A few weeks passed but the encounter with the elderly woman has never left your mind. You could not focus on any of your tasks, be it as something simple as reading a book or making yourself a snack to eat. Riki was the same as always, showing no signs of indifference. A part of you wanted to ask him for answers but another part of you knew what his response would be. He will avoid your questions like the plague and provide vague answers, choosing to beat around the bush instead of getting to the point.
The room was quiet except for the faint hum of the night outside, the soft glow of the moon filtering through the window. Riki stood close, his dark eyes locked onto yours with an intensity that made your breath hitch. His hand reached up, gently tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, his touch lingering.
“Why do you always look at me like that?” he murmured, his voice low and teasing, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Like what?” you whispered, barely managing to find your voice as your heartbeat thundered in your ears.
“Like you’re trying to figure me out,” he said, stepping closer, his hand now tracing a feather-light path along your jawline. “Spoiler alert: you never will.”
“Riki…” You let out a pleased sigh when your lips brushed against one another, eyelids fluttering close.
Your arms loosely wrapped themselves around his neck, using it as an anchor to ground yourself as your body grew limp in his hold. The god smiles into the kiss, taking his sweet time in tasting you. The pace heavily depends on his mood. It could be sloppy and messy and sometimes, it could be gentle and delicate, as if you were a piece of fragile glass that could shatter anytime. You whined when he nipped your bottom lip, making you tug his hair as a form of warning. He apologized by running his tongue along the seams of your lips before pulling away, chuckling at the sound of protest you made.
This time, you were the one to close the distance and he allows it, allowing you to be greedy. Riki’s hand slid to the back of your neck, tilting your head slightly to deepen the kiss, while his other hand snaked its way underneath your shirt, running his hand up your spine, pulling you closer until there was no space left between you. The kiss grew desperate and you sensed it before it actually happened. The temperature in the room changed and you were being pushed back onto the bed with Riki now hovering over you, who has not pulled away the entire time.
You melted into him, arching your back off the bed to press yourself against him, wanting to feel his body. Your hands gripped the fabric of his shirt as he forcefully parted your lips with his tongue. Muffled sounds akin to whimpers and mewls dripped from your lips. The taste of him was downright intoxicating and ever since he touched you, you were beyond addicted to his touch. Perhaps it was due to how touch-starved you were that made you drunk on Riki, where all you could think about was him and only him.
He kissed like he fought—with precision, passion, and the undeniable intent to leave you utterly breathless. His lips trailed to the corner of your mouth, then along your jaw, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake. “You drive me insane, you know that?” he whispered against your skin, his tongue darting out to lick your neck.
“Good,” you managed to tease, your own breath hitching as you tilted your head back, granting him more access to your unblemished skin. You felt him mouthing the area just below your jawline, not low enough for the collars of your shirts to conceal it but not high enough for you to easily hide it either.
You bite down on your lips, suppressing the whine when you feel Riki sucks on your skin. The sensation was nearly enough to make your eyes roll up. Your grip on his shirt tightened when you felt him moving to another area to leave another hickey.
“R-Riki, what are you—” You asked, only to let out a pathetic mewl when he teasingly bit down on your skin, not hard enough to draw blood but hard enough to elicit a reaction out of you.
“Sorry darling,” he chuckles, his hot breath grazing against your skin. The god pulls away to admire his handiwork, taking note of the marks he left behind; a firm and visible reminder that you belong to him.
“You’re impossible,” you grumbled, lips curling down in a pout. Riki’s eyes softened at the sight. He leans in to kiss you on the lips and you gasped when you felt him pushing your shirt upwards, revealing more of your skin to him.
“Sounds like you don’t accept my apology. Perhaps I can show it in another way instead,” he grins and you could only gulp, mentally preparing yourself for the incoming torture from him.
~
You took a deep breath, inhaling the salty scent of the ocean and the fresh air. You squint your eyes when a strong gust of breeze blows past, only to yelp when your hat is blown away. A hand shot out, appearing in your sight and managed to grab the hat before it was gone. The figure moved to stand before you and he placed the hat on your head.
“You should be more careful. What if you get blown away next?” Riki teased.
“If that happens, you better catch me,” you retorted, leaning in to press a chaste kiss on his lips. You laughed at how he chased after your lips when you pulled away.
“You know, as cute as the two of you are, I’ve been standing here for a solid five minutes and I’m starting to think I’ve turned invisible.”
You turned to your left and saw Heeseung standing a few feet away. He was dressed in casual clothes; a plain black undershirt with a denim jacket over it and a pair of pants. No one would be able to tell he was the God of War. Smiling, you waved at the approaching figure as you moved away from Riki.
“Heeseung, what brings you here?” You greeted him once he was closer and gave him a hug, to which he returned the gesture before pulling away.
“I’m here for Riki actually. I need to talk to him about something,” the other replied, eyes glancing in his direction.
You looked between the two and nodded in understanding. “I see, well I guess I shouldn’t be listening then.” You were about to walk away but Riki stopped you by grabbing your wrist. Heeseung raised an eyebrow at that, bemused.
“No, you can stay. I have a feeling what he wants to say concerns you,” he replied, narrowing his eyes at Heeseung who sighed, nodding in agreement. At this point, you were confused but you obliged, remaining where you were and waiting for him to speak.
His expression turned grim. "I've been hearing whispers," he said, his gaze flickering between you and Riki. "There are minor gods—restless, envious ones—who’ve taken notice of her. They’ve been talking about her purity, how untouched her soul is. And the fact that you," Heeseung looked directly at Riki, "turned her immortal only makes her more desirable to them. To them, she’s an anomaly. Something extraordinary. They’re determined to get their hands on her, no matter what it takes."
Your breath caught, and you glanced at Riki, feeling the tension rising instantly. His jaw clenched, shadows pooling around him like living creatures as his anger began to take form. His eyes darkened with an unspoken fury. This was the first time you had seen him getting angry. But when he spoke, his voice carried a chilling confidence.
“Let them come,” Riki sneered, his lips curling into a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes. “I’ll show them what happens when they try to take what’s mine.”
The air seemed to darken around him, his shadows weaving and coiling as if responding to his anger. Though his expression was sharp and his tone dismissive, there was a feral edge to his presence that made you shiver. Heeseung raised an eyebrow, clearly unfazed by Riki's display, though there was a trace of amusement in his knowing gaze.
“Just don’t underestimate them,” Heeseung warned, leaning forward. “You might be strong, but so are they. And they won’t play fair.”
Riki’s smirk widened, his anger simmering just below the surface. “They’re welcome to try. I’ll make sure it’s the last mistake they ever make.”
Heeseung took his leave after that and the tension vanished once he was gone. You sighed, running a hand through your hair. “Well, I guess the mood’s ruined now. What are you planning to do?” You turned to him.
“I could find them first and kill them but I don’t want to leave you here alone,” he replied, furrowing his eyebrows.
“But I won’t be alone, I can stay over at either Jay’s or Heeseung’s—”
“Do not say another man’s name, not after we’ve had sex,” he deadpanned, scrunching his nose as if it was too painful for him to say that.
You rolled your eyes, amused with the way he starts sulking like a little kid, “Are you jealous?”
“No,” he instantly replied, which sounded way too suspicious, “why would I be jealous of them? It’s not like they’re better than me. I’m better than them.”
You eyed him in silence until Riki sighed, “Well, I don’t think there’s anything you need to worry about in the first place. I’m perfectly capable of handling them myself.”
“I didn’t say anything though?” You innocently blinked your eyes. The god was unamused with your facade.
“You’re going to be the death of me.”
“Technically, you can’t die so.”
“...”
~
The next few days passed in tense silence. Riki was unusually quiet, only answering you with either a nod or a hum. He was on constant high alert, eyes doing a quick scan of his surroundings as he stood close to you, shoulders tensed. As much as you appreciate him looking out for you, it was starting to get to you. You no longer had the freedom to wander around on your own. He insisted on you informing him about your whereabouts and to always update him if you were moving to another location.
Whether it was a stroll along the beach or simply sitting at the backyard, his shadow never left yours. His gaze followed every movement, his steps always just a fraction behind yours. At first, you tried to ignore it. You told yourself it was his way of ensuring your safety. But as the days passed, the constant presence began to gnaw at you. It reminded you of your life in the village—how your freedom had been stripped away the moment they decided to send you as an offering. You were tired of feeling like a fragile thing to be protected, like a prisoner wrapped in silken chains.
Today was your final straw.
You whirled around abruptly, cutting Riki off mid-step as he trailed behind you. The frustration you had been bottling up finally spilled over.
“Why do you keep following me?” you snapped, your voice sharper than intended. “Everywhere I go, you’re there, watching, hovering like I’m some hopeless child. I can’t even breathe without feeling like I’m being watched!”
Riki blinked, clearly taken aback by the sudden outburst. His usual calm demeanor flickered, and for a moment, there was a flash of something deeper in his dark eyes—something like worry, or maybe guilt. But then, just as quickly, he composed himself, his expression hardening.
“I’m doing it to keep you safe,” he said evenly, though there was a quiet intensity in his tone. “The minor gods… they’re always watching. If I’m not around, they’ll try to get to you.”
You clenched your fists, frustration boiling over. “Do you really think I’m that weak? That I can’t take care of myself? I’m not some fragile thing, Riki. I don’t need you—or anyone—constantly looking over my shoulder!”
His jaw tightened, and for the first time, there was a hint of anger in his voice when he responded. “You don’t understand,” he said, stepping closer, his eyes darkening like the very shadows he commanded. “They want you. Not for who you are, but for what you represent. And I refuse to let them have you.”
You went silent, watching him and the god took this to continue by taking a step closer. “I’m not trying to take your freedom. I just don’t want to lose you. Please, trust me.”
The vulnerability in his voice made something in you ache and you could not find it in yourself to be mad at him. Not when he had given you a new life from scratch. Not when he had treated you as an equal. You took a shaky breath, your anger softening but not entirely gone. “Fine,” you whispered. “Protect me if you must, but just don’t cage me.”
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. The wind whispered through the trees, and the shadows danced around you, swirling in the space between frustration and understanding. Finally, Riki let out a quiet sigh, his shoulders relaxing just slightly.
“I’ll try,” he said, and though his voice was quiet, it carried the weight of a promise. “But don’t expect me to stop caring.”
A few days had passed since your confrontation with Riki, and the uneasy truce you had reached left the air heavy with unspoken tension. He had kept his distance—mostly—but you still felt his presence lingering in the shadows, watching from afar. You told yourself you were relieved to have a bit of space, but deep down, the quiet was unsettling.
That morning, the world felt different.
You woke abruptly, the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end. The apartment was eerily silent, the usual creaks and hums replaced by a stillness that felt unnatural. You sat up, the blanket slipping from your shoulders as a chill ran through you. Something was not right. And then, you heard it. A soft, almost inaudible whisper, like the sound of wind through dead leaves. It was not coming from outside. It was inside.
Your pulse quickened as you climbed out of bed, your bare feet touching the cold floor. The air felt heavy, suffused with a strange, oppressive energy. Shadows pooled unnaturally in the corners of the room, shifting like they were alive. You took a cautious step toward the doorway, and that was when you saw them.
Figures, barely human in form, their bodies twisted and dark, like shadows given flesh. Their eyes glowed faintly—dull, malevolent orbs that locked onto you with predatory intent. The minor gods. Your breath hitched, and panic surged through your veins. They should not be here. You were supposed to be safe. Riki’s presence had always kept them at bay. But now, without him near, they had come.
“Stay back,” you warned, though your voice trembled. You grabbed the nearest thing—a lamp—clutching it like a lifeline.
One of the figures stepped forward, its voice a hollow echo. “You thought you could escape us?” it hissed, its tone dripping with malice. “The God of Shadows is not here to protect you now.”
Your heart pounded. You backed away slowly, trying to think, trying to find a way out. “I don’t belong to any of you,” you spat, though fear laced your words.
They laughed, the sound a chorus of hollow, empty echoes. “You don’t understand,” another one sneered. “You are more valuable than you know. And now… you’re ours.”
Before you could react, a shadow darted toward you, too fast to dodge. But just as the figure reached out, the room plunged into deeper darkness—a suffocating, cold void that swallowed the light whole. A familiar voice, low and deadly, echoed through the darkness.
“No, she’s not.”
Riki.
The shadows writhed and recoiled as he stepped forward, his form emerging from the darkness like a force of nature. His eyes glowed with an eerie gray light, his expression cold and furious.
“You’ve made a mistake coming here,” he said, his voice dripping with quiet menace. “And you won’t leave this place alive.”
With a wave of his hand, the shadows around him surged forward, crashing into the minor gods like a tidal wave. They shrieked in fury and pain, their forms twisting and disintegrating as Riki’s power overwhelmed them. The air grew heavier, darker, as if the shadow themselves were suffocating the light. You stood behind Riki, your heart racing, thinking it was over. The silence that followed their destruction was short-lived. More gods appeared out of nowhere, spawning one after another.
They seeped from the walls, the floor, anywhere that creates a shadow. Minor gods, their twisted forms multiplying, each one more grotesque and menacing than the last. Their eyes glowed with hunger, and their whispers filled the room like a sinister chant.
“You thought you could protect her?” One sneered, its voice dripping with malice. “You’re just one god, Riki. You can’t fight us all.”
Riki did not flinch. The glow in his eyes intensified as he stepped forward. The air around him shimmered with power, the darkness bending to his will. “I’ve defeated worse,” he said, voice cold and unyielding. “And I’ll destroy all of you, no matter what.”
With a sharp gesture, he unleashed a torrent of shadows that moved like a tidal wave, slamming into the advancing gods. They howled as the darkness consumed them, but for every one that fell, another took its place. The battle raged on. The apartment became a battleground, walls cracking under the strain of divine power. Riki moved like a dancer in the dark, graceful yet brutal, every strike precise and devastating. He was relentless, his power unfurling like an endless abyss, swallowing the minor gods whole. But they kept coming, wave after wave, their determination growing more desperate.
“Riki,” you called, panic seeping into your voice as you saw the strain beginning to show. His breath was ragged, sweat glistening on his brow, though his eyes never lost their fire.
“I’m fine,” he gritted out, though his voice wavered slightly. “Stay close to me.”
But you could see it—he was reaching his limits and at this rate, he was pushing himself over it. Anyone with eyes could tell it was taking its toll. The room trembled as more shadows collided and then, light pierced through the darkness. Not from outside, but from the god himself. The temperature dropped, frost curling along the edges of the walls. A faint, otherworldly glow began to pulse from his body—a cold, radiant light like the silvery hue of moonlight.
“No…” one of them hissed, its voice trembling. “Impossible, you’re not just the God of Shadows. You’re something more.”
Riki smirked, though his voice was hoarse. “Took you long enough but it’s too late.”
The room exploded with light and darkness entwined. Silvery beams of moonlight cut through the shadows like blades, illuminating the dark corners and banishing the minor gods' forms. Where once his power had been cold and suffocating, it was now an ethereal mix of grace and fury. The light clashed with the darkness, bending both to his will.
With a single, fluid motion, Riki raised his hand, and tendrils of shimmering shadow-laced light spiral outward, crashing into the minor gods. They shrieked, their forms unraveling like fabric torn apart by an unseen wind. One by one, they disintegrated, obliterated by the overwhelming force. You remained rooted to the ground, awestruck by the display of power you had just witnessed. Compared to the few times he showed you his ability, this was on another level.
Riki turned to you, his eyes still glowing with that silvery light, but it was softer now and less dangerous. He looked almost ethereal, both equally terrifying and beautiful in the aftermath of the battle. You caught the way he staggered, his body swaying with exhaustion, but before he could face-planted to the ground, you caught him, pulling him into your arms.
“You did it, you saved us,” you whispered, running your hand through his hair.
He leans against you, his breath ragged but a smile stretched across his face. “Told you I would.”
Tears stung your eyes and you laughed, “You’re unbelievable.”
He chuckled weakly, his arms wrapping around you, pulling you close despite his exhaustion. “I’m just glad you’re safe.”
You held him tightly, the fear and chaos of the night finally melting away into a profound sense of peace. “Thank you,” you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. “For everything.”
Riki pressed his forehead against yours, his eyes softening as he looked at you. “I’ll always protect you,” he promised, his voice tender. “And that’s a promise from me to you.”

to be so for real i think a lot of people especially in progressive spaces are just rude and ignorant about witchcraft being a valid religion. like it might seem like make believe and woo woo shit to you and YEAH there's countless issues with cultural appropriation and bioessentialism within the witch community but like. man cmon that's every religion. like sorry you're a raised-vaguely-christian-and-now-atheist asshole but making fun of someone's religion that most likely pulled them out of a dark place and now currently enhances their life is not the political praxis you think it is. it just makes you pathetic and annoying. also there's a lot more to witchcraft than the shit you see online like pinterest spells and witchtok. like it's a legit religion to countless people that has many deep and nuanced practices, beliefs, and guidelines that you obviously don't know about.

Tumblr media
𝓐fter a long day of hanging out with chris and his brothers, nick and matt called it quits about fifteen minutes ago, each heading to their bedrooms. which ultimately, left you and chris alone. you both tended to be the most energetic out of the group, though that dynamic was quick to change whenever it was just the two of you. the air became hesitant almost. like you didn't know how to work off of each other's energy as well as you did others.
after a long beat of silence, you got up out of your seat on the couch, and headed towards the kitchen. your stomach was starting to feel empty, it was almost like you were nervous, and it didn't make sense because why were you nervous? chris was your best friend. "i'm gonna go make some mac and cheese, want some?"
chris turned and looked over the back of the couch, looking like he was thinking a little too hard about it. he eventually concluded looking back at the tv, "nah, i'm good."
you pulled the mac and cheese box from out of the cupboard, following the instructions that were already engraved in your head at this point. it was a simple recipe. everything was going fine, you found the pot, and filled it with water, but when you went to ignite the stove, the flame wouldn't start. immediately you call for the only person up at the moment who could help,
"chris! how do you work this fucking thing?!"
he unwillingly pulled himself off of the couch and walked over to the stove, shrugging his shoulders, "i don't know, your guess is as good as mine."
"you mean you don't know how to work your own stove?" you asked with disbelief, and a slight hint of disappointment. how long has he lived here? and still didn't know how to work his own stove?
"what? you think i cook?" he said furrowing his eyebrows at you, and breaking out one of his breath taking smiles.
he seemed to find the situation really funny, but you just couldn't look away from his smile. you never could. there was always something about the way it just lit up his face that made your heart pump slightly faster. you were very aware that he was your best friend, but sometimes when he smiled like that, you just wish there could be more.
"you know your teeth are very pretty." you were so engulfed with his smile that you didn't realize those words actually left your mouth. not until you noticed his reaction. he was completely taken aback, unknowing on how you just said something like that to him.
chris replied with a questioning "thanks?"
there was an awkward beat of silence before you attempted to explain yourself, "no, seriously everytime i see you smile i'm like woah," you paused thinking real hard about what you had just said, "is that weird?"
he thought about that sentence for a second then replied with, "coming from you? kinda."
"what do you mean 'coming from me'?" you knew exactly what he meant though. the two of you have been best friends for the longest time. so it was very out of pocket for you to mention how pretty his teeth looked, especially when it was just you and him like this. it felt too intimate for him and it scared him a little bit.
"i don't know," he took an exaggerated pause, then continued with the same shit he had just said, "yeah... i don't know."
the awkwardness only grew from there so you tried your hardest to make the atmosphere more lighthearted. "so im not allowed tell you that you have a pretty smile?" you accused him.
"i don't know!"
these "i don't know" answers were starting to push your buttons. why wasn't he just answering the questions? "so... what do you know?"
"i don't know." but instead of making you more agitated, he smiled once again. it just made you fall for it even more. you knew that he was doing it on purpose now and that he was doing it to mess with you.
"stop smiling like that! i'm gonna knock your teeth out!" you joked, grabbed a serving spoon that you got out earlier for the mac and cheese, aiming it at chris as you threatened him. he knew you were messing with him and he honestly found it cute.
his next sentence shocked you the most, not understanding what he meant by, "and what if i wanted that? then what? will you knock my teeth out?" he added on some kind of playful tone to his words, almost like he was mocking you. did he want you to knock his teeth out? was there some kind of hidden metaphor? what could that possibly mean?
you said the first thing that came to your mind, now heavily concerned with where this conversation was going. "i'd tell you that you're crazy and need your head screwed on tighter." without thinking, you rustled your hands through his hair jokingly.
there was a sudden change in the atmosphere, and his hands suddenly slid onto to your sides. the touch completely shocked you, as he slowly pulled you closer to him, and you surprisingly let him. so close you could see all his little freckles scattered across his nose, along with his pretty blue eyes. and not to mention, the smirk now plastered across his face as he said, "but i don't think i'm crazy."
instantly you felt one of his hands move up to hold the side of your face, watching as you reacted to every little thing he did. your eyes were wide, and a faint smile was forming on your face. every spot his hand touched felt like it had been ignited. it was confusing how he was making you feel like this. he was your best friend, so why did you guys have less than three inches between you two?
standing there, mentally unable to initiate anything, you decided to leave it up to him. but it ended up happening so quick and his lips were perfectly pressed against yours. his hand slid behind to the nape of your neck as he got more and more into the kiss.
it didn't take long for you to realize that you both worked surprisingly well together, it was like everything felt so right despite it seeming so wrong. how could you possibly be kissing your best friend right now?
you pulled away randomly, taking a well-needed breather. you were not entirely sure if you were going to regret this later or not, so you tried to find anything to give yourself a few seconds before anything else happened. and that's when you realized what you originally came in the kitchen to do, "my uhh... mac and cheese is waiting on me." you told him with a chuckle, adding a sarcastic frown.
you had no clue why you were doing this, especially when the only thing you wanted at the moments was to feel his hands around your waist and rustling throughout your hair. surprisingly, you also wanted a lot more than that.
"are you having doubts?" he asked, looking into your eyes, waiting for you to decide the next move this time.
"i just don't want to make a mistake, chris. i'm your best friend."
"well, let me tell you. i've been waiting for this day a lot longer than you think." he pushed a piece of hair out of your face.
you looked into his eyes, a big toothy smile coming from him and suddenly you found yourself thinking, "fuck the mac and cheese." as you carefully pulled his lips back onto yours, letting the night fade away into a perfect newfound moment between the two of you.

Girl next door
Caitlyn Kiramman x Fem!reader
Summary: An heir to a rich family comes to Piltover seeking more suitors than her home land has to offer.
Tumblr media
Warnings: There's probably a lot of pov changes. idk how to write. im sorry. 😓 uses of y/n but only like twice.
Reader being so down bad after like 3 seconds. (because we all were bffr) and cait being very charming (?) From the start and probably being pretty ooc.
Tumblr media
You are from an island next to Piltover, your family being particularly wealthy and having connections to practically every rich family who lives here.
Which is how you find yourself in your current situation, in a quiet corner of a crowded large hall.
You're at the Kirammans estate, your parents being close friends with them had asked them if they could hold a party at their house during their next visit to help you in your "search of finding love" which they happily agreed to.
You had met the Kirammans afew years prior along with their daughter, Caitlyn. She was a very composed girl, quiet, and very polite.
You'd yet to see her since your arrival early this morning, though. Not that it really bothered you. You hardly know the girl.
Leaning against the wall, a cocktail in your hand that you occasionally sip as you scan the area, looking for anyone to mingle with, just to pass the time but noone particularly catches your eye till you see a girl, in enforcers uniform walk through the doors. You're pretty sure enforcers can't just waltz into a party, but with a closer look, you quickly reconise the dark blue hair, basically a staple of Kirammans. Your brain finally registers it must be their daughter, Caitlyn.
She looks so.. different now, your eyes locked on her as you watch her walk over to her parents, who are, of course, talking to yours. She's very pretty, her hair flows so nicely, it's so shiny and her face is beautifully sculpted.
Your mother points over to you, waving her hand, signalling you over.
You take your eyes off of Caitlyn before walking over to your mother, you quickly make it to her side, standing to face Caitlyn, having to tilt your head very slightly to look her in the eyes.
"Nice to see you again."
You say, hand placed out in front of you for her to shake. Now that you're closer to her, you can see her face so much better. Her enchanting eyes, the way her brows are almost stuck in a slightly furrowed position, she's just so pretty.
"The same to you."
She says, voice smooth, as she takes your hand, turning, leaning down slightly, before gently kissing the back of it.
You feel yourself freeze, eyes going slightly wide with shock, simply nodding with a hum, keeping as calm as possible as she let's go of your hand.
As your parents now continue in conversation, you look around, unsure of what to do now, not really wanting to go back into the corner.
"Did you want to come for a walk? I could show you around the gardens."
You hear Caitlyn ask, having probably noticed you looking slightly unsure.
"Yes, please."
You reply with a gentle nod, taking her outstretched hand as she leads you out of the crowded room and out of the large double doors.
The light glow from the sunset illuminates her face so perfectly you can't help but stare.
"You look different, in a good way of course. I guess I just mean you're really pretty."
She chuckles lightly looking down at you for a moment, still walking.
"Thank you, as are you."
She says, pausing for a moment before asking.
"If I may. Why have you and your parents come to piltover? I haven't seen you in years, so there must be a reason."
"Oh, um, my parents are very adamant that i find a partner so they've taken me to visit some of their friends from different islands in hopes of finding people my age to pursue me, I mostly agreed to get out of the country, but its not been all that bad."
She hums with a small nod.
Conversation continues until you come to the entrance of a archway woven in blue roses, behind which is an beautiful garden with an array of colourful flowers, butterflies dancing around them.
"It's beautiful."
You say, voice gentle as you take in the scenery.
"Isn't it? I find it's also very peaceful."
She leads you through the arch way and into the garden to a hand carved bench. She gestures for you to sit, taking a seat beside you.
The silence between you is comfortable, hands still holding eachother before you speak up.
"Thank you for taking me here. The party was a bit to crowded for my liking."
"I could tell, you looked quite lost."
She says with a gentle laugh.
The light conversation continues between you both until you notice people slowly leaving the building.
"Seems like the party's over, we should probably head back in."
She let's out sigh
"A pity, but i suppose we should."
You both head back in, hands still intertwined, no need to still be holding, but also no need to let go.
As you approach the entrance doors, you notice how the sun is now fully set, moon casting a blue-ish light over everything around.
She opens the door, allowing you to go through first, hands slipping from eachother as you enter.
As you walk though the doors, Caitlyn shutting them behind you, you hear her mother speak.
"Caitlyn, could you please show Y/n to her room?"
"Of course."
She reply quickly, taking your hand once again and leading you up the large set of stairs, through a corridor filled with doors till she stop outside of one. Opening the door to reveal a expertly decorated navy blue and gold room.
"Thank you."
You say, face her, nodding your head slightly.
"Of course, if you need anything my rooms just nextdoor, don't hesitate to come get me."
With a nod you walk into the room and she shuts the door behind her.
You see your bags have already been placed to the side of the room and there's a small tray with littke gifts on which you thought was sweet.
You grab one for your bags, searching through it for some comfortable sleep attire before heading to the bathroom attached to the room to change.
Once you've, changed, brushed your teeth and done your skincare you walk back into the bedroom, getting comfortable in bed, falling asleep almost instantly on the comfortable mattress.
Tumblr media
It's been 2 weeks since your arrival in Piltover, today being your last day here, and you're still yet to find someone who's caught your eye. We'll aside from Caitlyn, but she's made no obvious moves and you've been to nervous to say anything.
You've been spending everyday together, her showing you around, taking you to all the nicest shops etcetera, you've gotten much closer. Little do you know, she's been planning something special for you as a parting gift.
You're both walking through the garden where she took you on your first night here. She leads you to the center of it where a circular stone path connects to all four pathways.
Holding your hands in hers, she turns to face you.
"Y/n, the time I've spent with you these last 2 weeks has been amazing, you're such an amazing woman to be in the company of and I have come to the realisation that I'd like to pursue a more romantic relationship with you."
You feel yourself flush, blinking in shock, half doubting this is even real but the feeling of her warm, soft hands in yours keeps you aware that this is reality.
"I.. feel the same way Cait and I'd be honoured to continue this relationship as romantic with you."
You say, still in shock and trying to seem as composed as possible.
You feel her hands on your cheeks as she gently pulls you in, placing a light kiss to your forehead.
"I'm glad to hear that. I was slightly worried you'd say no."
Tumblr media
Your stood by the docks, your parents on their boat, waiting for your luggage to be loaded on so you can head home. You and Caitlyn stood at the bridge, saying your goodbyes.
"I'll text you as soon as I'm home."
You assure her, hands intertwined with hers.
"I'll be waiting."
She hums with a smile, bringing your hands to her lips to place gentle kisses to the back of them.
You hear your parents calling you onto the boat, turning to look over ti them before back to Caitlyn. You pull her into a tight hug.
"I'll miss you. I promise I'll visit again as soon as possible."
"I'll miss you too."
She replys, before ushering you gently towards to boat. You quickly get on, waving her goodbye as it pulls away from the docks.

always on my mind ✧.* part two
ushijima x reader
part one here!!
LABELS: total fluff.
Tumblr media
not much has changed from the day he walked you home. well actually scratch that, a lot had changed.
your gaze lingered on him far longer then it ever had. you found yourself often star struck looking at the man.
you had to thank tendou for his ‘wingman’ advice.
but recently, your romantic developments with the ace had left you somewhat self conscious. ever since the kiss you grew anxious that he would change his mind on you.
he hadn’t really told you much other than, “ i like you y/n” in his deep monotone voice.
it left you puzzled about what exactly did he like about you?
so now here you were, standing to your lonesome holding a spread sheet between your hands. you stared at his name, next to it were his tallies of everything he had accomplished today.
you couldn’t look away from his name.
too busy with your duties, you didn’t realize some girls from your school had come to watch the practice.
they finally caught your attention when ushijima had spiked a ball down and it was followed with giggles. you frowned, knowing they liked him as well.
girls often did this. obsessed over the same man you obsessed with.
“are you okay?” tendou said sneaking up on you. you jumped slightly at his sudden presence.
“i’m ok. it’s just-…. idk” you sighed. glancing over to the girls gossiping.
“you got nothing on them y/n!!! i would never let our cute manager get herself upset like this!” he laughed out while throwing an arm over your shoulder.
“thanks tendou…” you whispered out.
practice continued on, and soon after it came to a close. ushijima making his way over to you, he stood above you looking confused.
“what’s wrong?” he said in a monotone voice.
you flushed at the question. you didn’t really want to tell him.
“can we talk about it later?” you asked him, looking up with puppy eyes. you knew he wouldn’t say no to you.
“yes we can. i’ll be at your home tonight we can talk about it then.” he said, not giving you an option to say no either.
“oook.” you said to him. letting a soft, gentle smile slip onto your face.
✧.*ੈ✩‧₊˚
the night had came fast, before you knew it ushijima was at your house knocking on the front door.
you opened it to find him in his casual comfortable attire, and a bouquet of your favorite flowers in his hands.
you swooned.
you let him in, leading him into the kitchen to get a vase, tending to the gifted flowers at once.
“why were you upset today y/n?” he asked while watching you carefully.
“it’s gonna sound silly…” you said shyly, finishing up your vase. motioning him to follow you to your room.
you two did so in silence.
finally making it into your room he studied it. all of your interests up around your space. he was finally getting to know you more. you set the flowers down on your desk and sat on the edge of your bed. he sat down next to you, the bed sank at the weight of his frame.
“i just.. want to know.” he said bringing you back to the conversation you started seconds ago.
“i got kinda jealous of those girls today, the ones that came into the gym and cheered you on… idk” you let out a sigh on relief at the end of your sentence, feeling good to say it out loud.
“i like you though, y/n” he said in a hoarse voice.
you shrugged, there it was again..
“what do you even like about me ushi? you keep saying that but im just confused.” you admitted.
he let out a low chuckle before starting,
“i like everything about you. everything. i like the way you laugh, your smile, your mannerisms, the way you look at me, your music taste, the way you smell, the way you can make other smile without trying…. i could keep going for hours about you… you don’t even know.” he said softly smiling. he slowly turned his head to meet yours. your eyes hadn’t let his since he laughed before talking.
“haha do you want me to keep going..?” he chuckled out again breaking the silence.
“nono it’s okay i get it..” you laughed out while letting your posture fall flat on your bed. you exhaled a breath you didn’t know you were holding in.
with a moment of clarity, you turned your body and crawled to the headboard of your bed. finally getting comfortable in your own bed.
you motioned him to come lay next to you. and so he did.
you two laid there in comfortable silence. finally you opted for a more cuddly position. you had your head on his chest, listening to his hear beat.
“may i be your boyfriend y/n?” he spoke out.
you giggle tracing infinity signs into his stomach.
“you may”

scaramouche
i dont know what this is but my love life has been cooking recently so i decided to write again after months (i’ve been left on delivered for 16 minutes so you guys get angst)
Tumblr media
“look seriously? don’t be like that— hey! wait! it wasn’t my choice! the fatui? i wanted you to be safe!”
“im getting married. deal with it.” you said while quickly walking, holding onto the sides of your heavy wedding dress, not even 3 minutes into putting on your outfit and you already regret wearing heels. “who? tartaglia huh?” he looked like a fool, you assumed he did at least. getting the courage to look at him was difficult. “it’s ajax.” you coldly say. you could picture his eye roll in your head as he mumbles a “whatever.” all you could do was watch his shadow in the corner of your eye trying to match your pace, while he reached to grab your hand. you angrily turn to him. “no! no just go! its been five years and now i’m just supposed to believe that you suddenly want me again?” all he can do is stare at your teary eyes, all he can do is chuckle. it’s weird, you had no clue why you were crying. was it cause the way he trims his hair now is different? was it cause his voice has changed, it sounds restless; was it cause it’s been so long? or was it because your heart still beats the same for him as it once did years ago. it didn’t matter how you felt anymore, you had a husband. well you will have a husband. so—
“listen okay? i just needed you to be safe” he cuts off your thoughts. scaramouche is nervous, he thinks he’s hiding it well with his smirk but he’s really not. you watch as he awkwardly try and fix his posture and grins at you, shoving his hands in his pocket hoping you didn’t notice his shaky fingers. you couldn’t stay here with him much longer, ajax would be furious. it’s not like you loved ajax, nor did he love you. it was a mutual agreement that your marriage would be perfect considering you and ajax both came from respectable families. however your dad always hated scaramouche, and you wish you listened to your father about how boys like him are pieces of shit. “you don’t get to decide that!”
scaramouche scoffs, “so what? what would that make me if i was the reason you died?” you slowly gulped as you both stood in science. he sighs and continues, “look i love you okay i still do and being away from you was one of the hardest things i’ve done!” you kinda always hoped the break up hurt scaramouche, even if it was just a little bit. you hoped that seeing you with someone else makes him bite his inner cheek. so it makes you feel better about drawing doodles of him. and making playlists dedicated to him. and learning the stupid piano just so you could play his favourite songs. “you have no right… no right to come back into my life!” your lip quivered, “it took me so long to fall asleep without you. do you know how difficult it is to eat with a heavy heart? maybe you didn’t kill me physically but the world stopped spinning the day you left so if you’re trying to come back the moment i’m starting to feel okay i’m not letting you.” of course you still loved him, but he was the reason why you put such restrictions on love. and now you cant even break your own rules, not even for him. scaramouche opens his mouth to speak but a voice calls out for you.
“hey! ajax is looking for you!” a guest you didn’t even know yelled from across the room. you look at scaramouche one more time before walking past him.

Caught 2
Pairing: Lighter Lorenz x Reader
Summary: You take care of Lighter after your session and he has a nightmare.
Warnings: Allusion to previous sexual activities, nightmares
Notes: Ok this is gonna be bad im writing this at 1 am publishing with no proof reading. I'll look over it tmrw.... have fun!
Tumblr media
The next time you wake up, only an hour or so must have passed. Bleary, you open your eyes. You see Lighter's face- his expression still somewhat fucked out- his eyes closed and mouth slightly open. He doesn't move when you quietly call out his name.
Your room still has the same shitty curtains that let in sunlight even if they're closed, the same cutesy, fluffy carpet that Lucy insisted you needed to have and the same furniture you took great care to choose and buy from folks who simply needed money. An uncomfortable feeling spreads in you. A mix of your muscles screaming at you, your head pounding because of an insufficient amount of sleep and a healthy dose of half dried stickiness from where you're still covered in cum.... Right. That should probably be cleaned.
Groaning, you get up as gently as you can, to avoid waking Lighter up. Then you make your way to a small bathroom that you managed to shoehorn into the already small room. Wetting a cloth with warm water, you wipe yourself off first. It'd be great if you had your own shower, but the sink and toilet were already trouble enough.
After washing the cloth off, you wet it again. Sitting down at the edge of the bed, you stare at Lighter for a moment. The last beams of sunlight stream into your room, illuminating his face just right. His hair glints with a golden hint, his face more relaxed than you've ever seen it while awake. His lips parted, letting out soft snores every once in a while. The scars covering his body can only make you wonder what kind of life he's lived up until now.
Of course, you managed to roughly piece together bits and pieces to get a full picture but... You sigh. Perhaps you will never understand the full extent of the suffering he had, and likely still has, to endure.
For now though, you focus on wiping him down with the cloth.
Pulling back, you observe him once more. His chest still rises frequently and deeply, so he doesn't seem to have woken up. A bit of cum still remains on his side, right in the corner between his body and the bedsheets. You consider moving him to clean, but he's probably too heavy for you. So you satisfy youself with wiping the corners anyway and pushing down the bedding to get everything. After you're done, you wash the cloth off and hang it up to dry. You can wash it properly with the rest of your laundry.
Strewn about clothes from both you and Lighter cover the room. Picking all of them up, you fold them as neatly as you can and place them on the side. You consider putting on boxers, but since he's not wearing any, it's probably fine not to wear any either.
For the third time, you sit down to observe Lighter. Nothing has changed from his previous state. Perhaps it's your headache or your muscle ache that makes your brain so foggy you have to sit down before you continue your tasks.
But before you can move to lie down again, Lighter's chest starts moving up and down faster, almost erratically. On top of that, his limbs twitch, almost clenching his fists. His face scrunches up, seemingly in pain. It's obvious he's having a nightmare. You freeze; what the hell are you supposed to do in a situation like this?
He doesn't give you any time to think, becuase he lets out an awful sounding moan. You vaguely recall someone else comforting their beloved, so you decide to imitate that. Embracing him, you lie on top of him and wind your arms around him. You pepper his face with kisses, throwing in mumbles of "I love you" and "It's fine, it's okay. No one's hurting you" in. Vaguely, you recall one of your parents comforting you like this. Though by this point they're already gone.
It seems to work, as his breathing calms down soon after that, his expression and muscles relax. You're surprised, but he continues sleeping like nothing happened.
Your heart clenches at the thought that he had to endure this all by himself. You press another gentle kiss to his face, a tear escaping you. You sniffle a little and try to distract yourself by sorting out the muddled together blanket and covering both of you with it. With the headache you already have, crying would be fatal for you. So you manage to successfully suppress your outburst and lie down next to him, falling into a dreamless slumber.

Cuz i cant sleep... some slight angst following up this and this fic isn't the follow up from the poll im just sleep deprived and sad
Also WARNINGGG ooc soft emotionally ✨️mature✨️ wanderer~
Wanderer who tries to atone for his past sins realized how much he's broken [name] throughout the years. [Name] who was undeniably loyal and trustworthy, [name] who nearly gave his life away to help him reach godhood.
"You..." Wanderer muttered as he looked at [name] who was fast asleep on the sofa in his living room. He wondered if he should bring a blanket to cover that scrawny, malnourished body resting so peacefully, but he couldn't take his eyes off the bruises, cuts, and old battle scars littering the skin of those once strong limbs.
"Idiot. Nothing would have changed even if you died for me." He thought. And he was so glad that didn't happen. He couldn't have lived with himself if he caused pain for another he loved.
Wanderer's cold fingers traced around a healing wounds on [name]'s face, which was one of the many he'd gained during his final battle fought as the right-hand man of a fatui harbinger, likely from when he foolishly intercepted the rough attacks from the traveler just to buy some more time for Scaramouche.
Wanderer absentmindedly continued to carass his scarred skin, not noticing how [name] was waking from his afternoon nap.
"Sorry." He croaked, bringing a thin hand up to rub his tired eyes. "It was warm. I didn't mean to fall asleep here."
Wanderer felt a pang through his heart (despite not having one). He'd gained a lot of emotions and grew to feel things during the months he spent under Nahida and at the akademia, but [name] had only spent 3 days in this new setting after roaming around homeless for so long.
Wanderer didn't realize how lucky he was in that aspect, for being given a chance to overcome his past when his counterpart was suffering the entire time.
"Lord Scaramou- Forgi- Sorry, Wanderer." [Name] spoke, stuttering to correct his words as he was still struggling to adapt to his new life. "You were zoning out."
He was. He only noticed how much he had been thinking over things when [name] pointed it out.
[Name] was still laying on his side on the sofa with Wanderer's hand on his cheek, staring at Wanderer's face with his sleepy eyes.
The puppet moved his hand from [name]'s face to his back to gently help him sit up. Truth be told, Wanderer was scared. The man in front of him was far too thin and far too weak. Almost to the point he would fracture at a light breeze.
Without a word, Wanderer got up and went to make some tea, and the other sat perfectly still, eyes unmoving, not even turning his head. He almost seemed like a porcelain doll.
When Wanderer got back, [name] sat in the same position he had been, faced the same direction, with only his eyes following the one who had just come back from the kitched and placed a warm cup of tea in his hands.
"He's like a doll." Thought Wanderer, which only made him feel more upset. He knew he shouldn't be frustrated, that he was the one responsible, but he just wished that [name] would at least move his head a bit more, or maybe shift in his seat. Act a bit more alive.
Or, at the very least, not act like he was living dead.
"Hey." Wanderer said, carefully choosing his words and speaking as gently as he could. [Name] had a slightly uncomfortable look on his face, seemingly confused with how to respond.
"You can respond however you'd like to. Or dont if you don't feel like it." Wanderer spoke softly, noting [name]'s discomfort. [Name] just smiled, a bit relieved. He found it a bit strange to see Scaramouche so... kind.
"I'm not Scaramouche." Wanderer said. He looked apologetic.
"I won't be either." He felt like his words didn't get through to [name], but the sunken look on [name]'s face told him how much impact his words had.
"I'm sorry." He finally apologized. He didn't exactly understand why he was apologizing, all he knew was that there was a lot to say sorry for.
"If you're not him, then why are you apologizing."
[Name]'s words stung like salt on a fresh wound.
"Because I stopped being him without considering you."
Wanderer couldn't stop the bitter tears falling from the other's eyes. He seemed to have a knack for making him cry. Scaramouche's strongest general and the broken human marionette wanderer picked up.
"I'm sorry for how I used you."
...
"I'm sorry for how it broke you."
...
"I'm-" Wanderer choked."...I'm sorry for not telling you I loved you when it mattered the most."
He wasn't crying. He had much better control over his feelings than [name]. But being unable to stop [name]'s tears made him feel as helpless as he felt when he was first abandoned.
The tea had become cold and untouched, and Wanderer gently took the teacup from the other one's hands and placed it aside, engulfing him in as warm a hug he could provide. [Name] too allowed his skinny frame to be held as he quietly sniffled.
For the first time in a long, long time, both Wanderer and [name] felt as normal and human as the rest.
Meanwhile nahida accidentally spying on then through whatever weird magic she's got crying her eyes out with kaveh who's crying cuz he saw nahida crying so now the two of them dont know why the other is crying and they're crying togerther because of that.
Al haitham in the back wondering what the 🦆is going on...

i’m a psych student, so i did some analysis of behaviour. i’ve got an exam tomorrow, but clearly, this is more important to me.
a study on andrea’s stella’s negative and positive reinforcement approaches, and is it working?
now, we’re aware that andrea stella never praises lando in the media, and constantly praises oscar. even when lando performs beautifully, andrea has nothing good to say. when oscar performs terribly, andrea puts the blame on the car, and not the driver. lando performing terribly, andrea blames the driver.
andrea does a lot of negative reinforcing towards lando. like, if he continued to not praise lando, he will eventually be the best and reach his highest potential. while that could be a motivator, i do believe that andrea also needs to understand the driver and person that lando is. we’re aware of how lando is an over thinker and struggles with mental health. we’re aware that he constantly criticises his own skills and just believes that he’s not good enough. negative reinforcements work to a certain level. i have a negative reinforcement technique where i hate it when my enemy in college does better than me in exams. that’s how i motivate myself to study and get good scores. but, im also an overthinker and struggle with mental health and think that im not good enough, that when i do well, i need someone tell me that i did a good job, or get a reward in some form or the other. if lando does have a negative reinforcement as a motivator technique, and andrea is the one who gives that negative reinforcement, it’s also necessary that andrea gives a reward to his driver when he performs well. right now, for lando, the positivity or the positive reward comes from his friends and family. but, it will still stick in his brain that his team principal doesn’t think he’s good enough.
at the same time, andrea does a lot of positive reinforcement with oscar. maybe it’s what motivates oscar. being told that he can do it, and that he’s a good driver, and that something wasn’t his fault is his motivator. which is maybe what andrea is doing with the constant praises. yet, it doesn’t change the same thing as before, that if oscar does perform bad, a punishment, or a negative reaction must be given to maintain that balance. constantly giving positive reinforcements will not lead to an improved driver or an improved result. it leads to the driver not understanding what they’re doing wrong and how they can fix it. oscar is an amazing driver, don’t get me wrong, i’m merely pointing out the difference in reinforcement approaches. oscar needs to receive praise where it is due and receive criticism where it is due. if it’s only praise, it will never benefit him. as long as andrea continues with the positive reinforcements, oscar will continue to think that he’s doing everything perfectly.
now, i don’t know what happens behind closed doors, obviously. it’s very possible that andrea praises lando and criticises oscar during their team meetings and stuff. but, from a fan point of view, based on what we’ve seen and we’ve heard with the interviews and stuff, this is what i’ve noticed.
i personally believe that andrea needs to find a balance for both drivers. if he’s going to be team principal for mclaren for a while, i do believe that he needs to find a balance of praise and criticism between both drivers to really push them to achieve their full potential. and if andrea doesnt do it, we will have one driver on his high horse, never unlocking his maximum potential, and the other driver putting in all the works and falling deeper into a spiral of never being enough.
anyways, you don’t care, i just wanted to tell someone, and i decided to trouble you!
- wyr anon
OMG NO I DO CARE!!! this tickled and triggered the past psych student in me (i did it for a levels like.. 2 years ago. i barely remember jack thought so ntm on me 🙏)
me personally, i see all of andrea's treatment as both positive punishment and negative reinforcement. negative reinforcement in which andrea takes away 'praise', with the (futile) attempt to get lando to perform better, but also the fact that he's solely doing positive punishment to discourage the behaviour of lando performing well, which, in turn, leads him into performing...inadequately (more on this later).
Tumblr media
(little visualisation; credits to b.f skinner🙏)
i am very sure that andrea knows what he's doing to lando. there's no way that he thinks this entire negative reinforcement system would work (????) on him, even given that there is nothing for lando to change.
now, we all know that is not lando's case. matter of fact, he should be in all of andrea's good books by now. and i think there are reasons to why andrea is doing this, but i will focus on one; warning, take this with a grain of salt, because obviously, i don't know what's going on inside his head, and i can only infer from what i perceive from what he shows us.
andrea is doing this with the intention to depreciate lando, this is where positive punishment comes in. i know it sounds a bit of a stretch, but when i'm weighing my options and really observing stella's behaviour, there is no other way i can perceive this. lando performs extremely well, for someone who has just gotten a good car after 5 years driving a tractor, occasionally putting it on pole, and even winning from it twice, and the other time he didn't, he drove superbly from p5 (if i recall correctly) to win the race. what could guarantee the need of positive punishment, public bashing, if not to bring him down.
again, could be argued that lando would benefit from it, perform even better (in a sick way, i know, but that's mainly the incentive behind positive punishment) but with someone already giving it their all, and on top of all that, is very open about his anxiety and overthinking, it's too far-fetched to think that it would be helpful in any way.
could this be a twisted method of manipulation? maybe yes, maybe no. but no one uses positive punishment without the intention for the behaviour to change; normally, this would mean, lando would stop performing 'bad' and start improving; yet, there is no 'bad performance', is there? so, in this process, andrea has (knowingly, unknowingly, who knows) used reverse psychology and inflicted the opposite of what positive punishment usually does.
(i think i should mention that positive punishment doesn't always work, not even taking into account whether the person has good mental wellbeing or not. in some cases, it can trigger the person to do worse just because they have, probably, received positive punishment their entire lives and so, with no substantial support, they end up doing the antithesis of what p.p is intended to do. kind of like a big fuck you. but anyways.)
andrea is aware that lando constantly does better than oscar; and his [not-so discreet] favouritism is inciting him to act this way, perhaps with the purpose of inculcating more doubt into lando, so that it appears that oscar is better. no better way to do this, than have the tp themselves tell the public that they think a driver isn't driving well.
we mustn't forget that everything in f1 is calculated. i am very aware my point is a stretch, but andrea can't be doing this for any other reason.
unto oscar's positive reinforcement treatment:
you've said all i have wanted to. this method only encourages behaviour, instead of discouraging like positive punishment does. it gives oscar a big wad of entitlement, especially since he is not being told where he goes wrong, and this praise is done so publicly, so it's even more long-lasting.
positive reinforcement will keep oscar at where he is, giving him that privilege of thinking lando owes him wins and places (which, i think, is so cruel; if oscar really thought that him helping lando with one point earned him that win, then he didn't do what he did in the brazil sprint out of the goodness of his heart.), whilst lando's negative reinforcement turned positive punishment will end depleting his performance. he'll not stop thinking that he needs to do better for the team, keep repaying favours, keep sacrificing himself, and with his own tp not praising him for all of these, he may end up seeing that even his good deeds aren't cared for.

how long do you like oc and jake keep messing around in serial sweetheart? if there are already asks about this, what is the tag because I would feel like shit for asking you questions you've already answered
*wiggles my grubby little fingers* idk if i've answered this before, but im gonna just say what's on my mind now even if i've said something previously to contradict it. im the author, i get to choose and change canon info at will. heuehueheue.
they do keep fucking around though if i were to ever continue it, it would likely end up being over 100k words of reader and jake going back and forth, breaking up several times even though they aren't dating due to pure guilt. but every single time they'd end up tangled together every chance they get. it would be really good sex too. Jake would likely still suffer the most knowing he's had you but you still run back and forth between him and his brother. i'd like to say everything falls apart when Sunghoon asks reader to marry him. By that point she'd, of course, have love for both hoon and his little brother. Things would be weird bc she doesn't immediately answer, and Sunghoon starts feeling really insecure about it. You'd start distancing yourself from going over there, and guess who he would confide in? that's right. our good ol jakey boy. Jake would be the one to drop the ball too. After all, that's his brother. He's living in his brother's home, eating his food, using his electricity, fucking the love of his life. Eventually, the pressure to keep secrets would weigh too heavy on him. You haven't talked to him since Sunghoon asked you to marry him, and from the looks of it, you've barely talked to hoon either. So, out of guilt, fear, and knowing that not only is he about to lose you, but so is his brother?? he snitches. It would get super messy. Lots of angst and emotion. You being pissed at Jake. Jake being apologetic but calling you out on your bullshit bc you both did that shit together. Sunghoon grilling you, kicking jake out, making him move back home without a second doubt. Lots of scenes of you alone in your apartment, even more scenes of Sunghoon by himself trying to come to terms with everything. then a scene of jake, after like three months, showing up at your place. and you're back to square one, like always when Jake is in front of you. kind of funny, really, that Sunghoon only texts a small "can we talk?" after months of ignoring you...when jake is between your legs again.

Dr. Ratio x Reader
Summary —☆° While on a mission on belabog with your worst enemy, Dr. Ratio , a blizzard hit, and the power went out. Sadly, the two of you were stuck in your hotel room together.. and things were.. changing?
Contains —★° stoic ratio, name calling, enemys to lovers.
Tumblr media
You groaned, pushing at the door handle again. Trying to push the door open to no avail. The last thing you wanted before chrismas was to be stuck in a room with Veritas.
You turned around, receiving a nasty look from the man in his silk pajamas still. You internally rolled your eyes before speaking.
"It's not working." You said, annoyance laced in your tone. Though you tried to mask it a bit. Sure, you didn't like his guts, but he was still your peer.
"Did you try turning the handle, or are you too dumb to do that by yourself too?" He said, walking past you and towards the door. Your cheeks burning in a mixture of embarrassment and frustration at his words.
"Of course I turned the handle, Im not stupid." You said, trying to defend yourself as he studied the handle. Trying his own hand at it.
"It's an electronic lock, without any power we're not getting out of here. So, get comfortable." He said before walking off towards his claimed bedroom.
As he closed the door, you scoffed. Mumbling under your breath. Before walking off towards the kitchen. You weren't sure what was in it since you had ordered food from the restaurant rather than cooked. But, it seems like you two might be here a while.
You opened the fridge, looking over everything in there. Eggs, milk, oranges, and apples. For a luxury hotel, it was pretty empty. You close the door again. You opened the cupboards. Seems like the last guest here left some stuff behind. Coco powder, marshmallow, and crackers. A thought popped into your head.
"Ratio, you alive in there?" You asked, knocking in the door. There was silence for a moment before he finally answered.
"Can I help you?" He said. Annoyance laced in his tone as he opened the door, looking down at you. Having changed into his silk pajamas.
You didn't say anything. Holding up the coco powder and marshmallows. He raised a eyebrow.
"Want to make hot chocolate?" You said. You figured he was probably thirsty by now. He thought about it for a moment before nodding.
"I guess so, but don't get any on my pajamas. These were expensive." He said, walking past you and towards the kitchen.
You followed shortly behind. Smiling as you two began the process of making the hot chocolate. Grabbing two cups from the cupboards.
"No, stupid. Not the glass ones— you can't use those. Grab mugs.." he said. Mentally facepalming. You rolled your eyes, putting the glass down and going back through the cupboards. Grabbing the mugs. Placing them down onto the marble counter tops.
He poured the milk inside. Carefully ripping the tops of the packets and putting the coco powder inside.
You smiled as you noticed a bit land onto the countertop, feeling a bit petty. "You missed a spot." You said, puffing out your chest in confidence.
He raised an eyebrow, letting out a small laugh. "Are you serious?" He said in disbelief. You hummed before grinning at him. Holding in a laugh as you saw his reaction.
"Never mind, Doctor." You said, turning back to the rotating rugs in the microwave until it started beeping, symbolizing it was done. He took them out before blowing the steam from the over top of the cup.
He watched from the corner of his eye as you gently sipped the liquid. His eyes move from your head. to your lips. Quickly shaking off the thought. Trying to ignore the fluttering in his stomach whenever you were around.
He put down his mug. Taking a small breath. You two had always been enemies, but.. it felt— different today. Maybe it was the weather making him feel off today.

bnha vol 42 epilogue theory
ok hear me out. a subsect of us have been wondering why deku seems so OOC here...very callously rejecting bkgs hero agency offer, i understand saying no but in such a dismissive way feels off...why he's just overall very casual towards bkg, why since the end of the battle we've had no acknowledgment from deku towards bkg about his death, his sacrifices, and even his reaction towards the suit in 431 seems somewhat lukewarm. not to mention becoming and continuing a teacher when nothing in the narrative shows him being interested in that ever. if deku has changed, why weren't we shown how/why/when he changed? why does it seem like a switch turned off and suddenly he wasn't our izuku anymore?
because something DID turn off.
one for all.
HEAR ME OUT.
what if deku losing one for all made him LOSE HIS LOVE FOR BKG
and the love i talk about here could be either romantic OR platonic.
im serious here. one for all has always in some weird way been connected to katsuki. quirks activate because of him. OFA goes batshit whenever katsuki is hurt. not to mention OFA canonically has a very close grip on izuku's heart, hence "control your heart." it's possible OFA could have bonded so closely to izuku's heart, which as we all know was full of kacchan for a long time, and basically intertwined with it, absorbing izuku's connection to katsuki. OFA becomes izuku's heart, and OFA becomes an extension of izuku's feelings for katsuki. OFA is connected to katsuki. this could even be tired back to the first user's connection with the second user and how the second user is so similar to bkg. if OFA sees something to love in bakugou and so does izuku, the two combine and OFA essentially becomes this manifestation of izuku's love for kacchan.
so what happens when izuku loses OFA?
he loses his connection to and his love for bakugou.
this would even explain why he's so awkward and nonemotional about bkg crying in 424. he's already losing one for all, he's already losing these threads of feeling he has for bkg. the more one for all leaves the less izuku feels for kacchan, until eight years later there's absolutely nothing left. hence why izuku is basically nonreactive to anything bakugou says and essentially rejects him in the epilogue.
control your heart, you say? what happens when the heart is gone and it took your love away with it? you become numb. why does it seem like izuku doesn't feel anything for bkg anymore?
because he doesn't. it's all gone.
now ofc the series is over so this is just a ridiculous theory im throwing out there thats obviously not real but the more i think about the more i think im lowkey right. ofa has always been connected to katsuki and whenever deku goes batshit about kacchan it resulted in OFA outburts, but never verbal outburts directed from deku himself. it was always the quirk. now i think deku loved katsuki with all his heart as a child, but ofa took that love and used it was power, and when ofa left the love left with it. so the embers of izuku's love for katsuki were fading too. i personally think it explains a lot and i genuinely think i may be a genius (unless somebody thought of this before which they prob have but let me have this for a bit ok)
anyway thanks for hearing me out i appreciate it
