they go to the mall together every other weekend and shop, which they both love to do and when they get home they always model the new outfits they bought

flynn squeals every time they see a dog in public and always runs over and asks if they can pet it and carrie always watches her with such a fond look that the owner almost always makes a comment on what a lovely couple they are or asks how long they’ve been together (something that has actually been happening since even before they were dating, and back then you can imagine the flustered ness it caused)

flynn often comes to watch dirty candy rehearsals, cheer them on, make sure they’re staying hydrated/taking snack breaks and that carrie’s not overworking herself

carrie is the first person that flynn tells she wants to DJ professionally and carrie gets her her first gig

eventually flynn gets into producing as well and ends up making a track for carrie, who writes lyrics to it and it becomes dirty candy’s most successful song to date

carrie says i love you first one saturday afternoon while they’re watching a movie on flynn’s computer in her room. flynn laughs at a joke and carrie looks over at her, her beautiful, incredible girlfriend, and simply can’t resist the urge to say it

flynn’s shocked into silence so carrie panics and leaves and doesn’t answer flynn’s messages

that night flynn shows up at the wilson mansion and throws rocks at carrie’s window until she comes out

flynn is upset with carrie for running out and ghosting her and carrie’s trying to defend herself so they argue but then flynn interrupts carrie by kissing her and breathlessly saying, “i love you.” carrie kisses her and not another word on it is said

they’re not really PDA-y, they just happen to engage in a lot of unconscious, casual affection, like flynn often absentmindedly intertwines their pinkies and carrie doesn’t realize her arm is around flynn’s shoulders until she’s doing it

flynn really loves art, particularly murals, so she drags carrie to a lot of gallery openings and museums

one day they’re supposed to go on a date but carrie’s sick and forgot to text flynn telling her not to come so flynn shows up at her house but stays anyway to look after her

flynn makes jewelry in her free time and consults carrie for her thoughts on every piece (in junior year she starts selling them at school & turns out to be quite the entrepreneur)

they have an inside joke about cosmo and wanda

a couple of the dirty candy members sometimes jokingly flirt with flynn and are like “watch out! we’re gonna steal your girl!” and carrie gets possessive and apologizes for it pretty quickly but flynn thinks it’s hot so it works out pretty well

will watch bad rom coms to make fun of straight people and throw popcorn at the screen when they get together

pet/nick names: care, baby, babe, love, (from carrie to flynn who shuts down upon hearing it) honey, (flynn to carrie, who becomes very giddy the first time flynn says it in a text message) sweetheart

move in together after graduating, neither planning on going to college (julie goes to berkeley and nick some other place in california where they have lacrosse cause that’s the sport he plays right) and their parents think it’ll be a disaster but it actually goes really well

the first couple of weeks they fight more, all petty arguments mostly out of the stress of moving, but they always talk it out

it doesn’t take long for them to be happy they’re living together and feel really glad they took that step

two years after graduating flynn gives her a promise ring

ten years later carrie’s a successful pop star/choreographer & flynn’s a record breaking producer/DJ and they’re about to buy a house when they realize they never got married

it’s just a moment where they’re relaxing together on the couch and suddenly are like. oh

it’s a small ceremony, thrown together in just three weeks

carrie wears a short, light pink dress with a heart cutout in the back that would probably be more suited for a high school sophomore’s spring fling but no one cares

flynn wears a suit, and is walked down the aisle by her older sister

they both tear up upon seeing each other and sob through the vows (the traditional pre written ones, they wrote vows for each other but they recite them to the other when they’re alone, so it’s something special only they can share)

julie & kayla are the maids of honor, nick and alex are the best men

julie & luke’s five year old hernando is the ring bearer & alex and willie’s three year old umi is the flower child

trevor, flynn’s older sister and parents cry

even flynn’s now teenage younger siblings, who as of late have often been stereotypically cynical and moody shed tears

jatp perform at the reception (they have also become a hit band at this point)

when they get back from the honeymoon the first thing they do is get a dog

they adopt a golden doodle rescue named stella

a couple years later they start talking about kids and look into getting a sperm donor

because they love being competitive they do little games to decide who will be the one to carry the baby

it’s all jokes though, they decided at the start of the process that it would be flynn for the first kid and carrie for the second

but then SURPRISE flynn has twins

a boy and a girl named tyler and ollie (who’s who i won’t tell you cause fuck gender)

they don’t even talk about carrie getting pregnant now cause they’re busy with the babies and trying to manage their careers but one night, when the kids are eight, and flynn has just flopped onto the couch with a dramatic sigh after putting them to bed, carrie puts down her kindle and quietly says that she wants another kid.

they talk for hours because while flynn wants another kid too, when you’re both celebrities with demanding jobs and people constantly trying to peer into your life, that decision involves even more factors

they decide to have another kid and carrie chooses to take a step back from her career for now-she’ll return to it eventually but for now she wants to be able to just be a parent without worrying about work and not have to deal with the guilt that comes with working when she feels like she should be being a parent

though the kids have always been their main priority and they have done quite well dividing their time between work and being with them, and have done decently shielding them from the public eye (majority of the pictures of ollie & tyler that the public has are blurry candids, and the few high quality ones are from when they were three and they no longer look like that anyway so it’s all good)

it’s a harder process for carrie to get pregnant as she’s almost 40 and flynn was 31 when she had tyler and ollie

but it happens though they’re careful about choosing the sperm donor-even briefly consider asking reggie or nick-because with this kind of thing there’s always the risk that other parent could track down where their kid ended up and want to be a part of that kid’s life later on which is uber complicated for many reasons so they get those scary possibilities out of the way by just finding someone who they know wants to be in the child’s life

preston choi, a thai & korean american mathematics professor ends up being their guy

he’s immensely genuine, sweet, respectful, polite, and gentlemanly

when he came out at fifteen his parents kicked him out of the house

it was a long and difficult journey but they’re in a decent place now

but it’s not the family he wants to have and he’s tried but has yet to find a partner

but doesn’t want to wait to have kids so here he is, more than happy to co parent with flynn and carrie

so that’s what they do! tyler and ollie become big siblings to miles wilson-choi on december 10th, 2044

miles grows up in the most multicultural home ever, being fluent in 4 languages (English, AAVE, Spanish thanks to their tia julie, Korean, and Thai) all their life

tyler & ollie welcome preston and miles into the family with open arms, as well as the addition of korean and thai cuisine to the already amazing dinner tables they had of soul and caribbean food

A/N: 1654 words. A bit shorter, but we’re getting into things now. idk how i feel about it, please give me feedback.

[PART 1]

Flop of The Month, your band, has an instagram account with exactly two posts on it, and Douglas feels like both and idiot, and a creepy stalker, for the amount of time he spends flicking through the two photos without actually liking them, for fear of you realising who he was.

Colson, however, seemed to have no such reservations.

“Look, I’m on their story,” Colson’s grinning from ear to ear as the cast and crew break for lunch the Monday after they’d seen your band play, showing Douglas his phone, and your band’s instagram story. It showed their notifications, highlighting how Colson had liked both photos and followed them, and had the caption ‘how’d the rap devil find us?’ and ‘not complaining tho’. 

“Bloody hell,” is all Douglas can bring himself to say, wearing a half-smile as they made their way to the costume department to get changed before lunch. It had been a low effort day, just jeans and t-shirts, but it was always safer to not eat in costume. Hair and makeup could stay and be touched up however.

Your band’s page had begun the day with 217 followers, and ended it with over a thousand. There wasn’t a link to your personal page, and so all he can do is scroll through your Facebook while waiting for Colson to be ready to go.

Douglas takes a moment to compose his thoughts before typing out his response.

Douglas: hi back Douglas: and yes.

There’s a few minutes of silence, and Douglas can feel his scalp itching beneath his wig, just a little, but he tries to ignore it.

Y/N: cool. Y/N: well it was nice meeting you guys!! Y/N: looking forward to seeing if ur band is real btw Douglas: probably wont be for a while Y/N: im happy to wait Y/N: if u want me there that is Douglas: if we ever actually play a gig, you’ll be the first to know

You send a blushing smiling emoji back, and Douglas finds himself strangely pleased.

“Is that her?” Colson asks, eyes shining as he pulled on his leather jacket; with his wig and makeup, he still absolutely looked the part. Douglas quickly slipped his phone in his pocket, knowing that a faint blush dusted his cheeks despite his best efforts. As he waffled his way through an affirmation, Colson’s smile just grew wider.

“I still don’t understand why you were being so vague; she probably would have jumped you there and then if she knew you were part of the Motley Crue movie, man.”

“Yeah,” Douglas said, his discomfort mounting at the insinuation, “that’s the problem, dude; first of all, I don’t know if she like the band themselves, or just the music, and if she does like the band,” he paused, shrugging a little, quietly embarrassed, “what if she likes them better than me?”

“They’re all married,” Colson says, like it immediately solves everything.

“Man, you know that’s not the issue,” Douglas sighed, but it’s clear he wasn’t done, and Colson just waited, eyebrows raised, “you know, girls who are like... like... how did you say it the other week? When that girl from Instagram was in your DMs every other minute?”

“Clout chasing,” Colson nodded sagely, suddenly understanding all too clearly his co-star’s apparent fears, “well she doesn’t know who you are yet.”

“Exactly,” Douglas exclaimed, glad the craft services tent was finally in view, feeling himself grow hungrier by the moment, “and I think I wanna keep it that way, just for now.”

“Better pray she doesn’t watch Jupiter Ascending,” Colson snorts, just as Douglas punches him in the arm. 

The next day, he messages you first, sends a photo of himself and the rest of the band out of costume, but holding their instruments, all wearing heels to help make it easier to wear them around set. 

Douglas: the band says hi Y/N: shit, you guys have instruments and everything Y/N: getting less sketchy by the minute

You follow it up with a winking emoji, and a photo of yourself, out in the sunshine, dressed impeccably, makeup dark and sharp, holding a stack of posters beside your head, advertising your band’s next gig; this Saturday.

Douglas: are you inviting me? Y/N: only if you’re saying yes

Your confident coyness amuses him, despite the way the shoes are pinching his toes, and he tells you he’ll be there.

The next day, you send a link to a band name generator, but more interestingly, you send it right around the time he’s getting his makeup done, early in the morning.

Douglas: early start? Y/N: my shop won’t open itself Douglas: your shop? Y/N: mini mall tattoo parlor hahaha

“She owns a tattoo parlor?” Daniel asks, reading over Douglas’s shoulder between takes, “you’d better make your move or Colson’s gonna go for her.” 

“Go for who?” Colson himself calls across set where his makeup’s being touched up.

“You weren’t meant to hear that!” Daniel shouts back, though he’s grinning, and adds, “Y/N. She owns a tattoo parlor.”

“Really, shit man, Doug she’s cool as hell,” Colson muses, before snorting, addressing Daniel, “gimme some credit, I’m letting the man shoot his shot; he’s my bro, not my competition.”

“Thanks man,” with the slightest smile, Douglas puts his phone away as the scene is reset around them, and Colson joins him in the middle of the living room set.

“I expect free tattoos, however,” he says with a faux seriousness, “because if you like her, like really like her, I’m gonna wingman the shit out of you.”

“Seriously?”

“Absolutely, man,” he claps Douglas on the shoulder with a surprisingly sincere expression.

It’s Colson who suggests, the following day, sending a video of Douglas playing the bass, asking if you had any pointers. They’re at band rehearsals again, blasting through their repertoire, when they get to Take Me To The Top, and as the song dies down, Colson makes the suggestion.

“Why are you filming it?” Iwan asks, and Colson’s smile is all teeth where he’s holding Douglas’s phone, answering before Douglas has the opportunity.

“Tryna help impress that punk chick from the band last weekend.”

“You’re actually talking to her?” Iwan asks with a bright, almost incredulous smile, “after everything that happened? She must really like you.” He muses, and Douglas feels his soul leaving this mortal plane.

“Smart move; asking for advice from her, lets her know you think she’s talented, and, well, you know,” Daniel shrugs, wiggling his fingers with a casual air. Douglas frowns, but Colson’s nodding.

“Exactly what I was thinking,” he agrees, and finally Douglas clues in. Dexterous fingers.

“Don’t be gross, guys,” he sighs, already regretting letting Colson help at all, “just take the damn video.”

“Okay,” Colson agrees easily, “if you’re serious about this chick you’ve known for five days,” he emphasizes, though Douglas doesn’t seem phased, “if we ever run into her, we’ll pretend we’re in a Motley Crue cover band.” He agrees, while Iwan and Daniel silently agree, though they look rather amused at the whole situation.

“There’s just something about her,” Douglas muses quietly.

“It’s the fact that she’s the coolest chick you’ve ever met,” Colson tells him with far too much authority, “and your little posh, school-boy brain wants to try something new.”

“Hey -” Douglas scoffed, though he was quickly talked over.

“She looks like she’d punch me in the face but I’d be okay with it,” Iwan adds, which, strangely enough, the rest of them agree to with various mischievous smiles. Douglas doesn’t exactly deny that he feels the same way.

“What’s our band name gonna be?” Daniel asks finally.

“The Fourskins,” Colson answers back immediately, grinning wide and proud of himself.

“That’s kind of genius,” Daniel snorts over Douglas’ protest, and so, on a three-to-one vote, their fake Motley Crue cover band is named The Fourskins, and Douglas kind of thinks he’d rather come clean there and then to you, rather than suffer through ever typing or saying that name to you. im grateful for this “extra” episode outside of the actual competition. they did seem to get to do performances that they wanted to be in. im guessing some kids’ perfs didnt get aired? so im hoping they get released elsewhere so we can still watch them. again i will say that having only half the number of trainees compared to other shows and having them for 3 stages rather than the usual 1 has allowed me to feel like ive gotten to know most (if not all?) of these kids, similar to how i felt about ip, which is nice. like i at least know their names and faces. at least it wasnt like qcyn where kids got eliminated before they even had 1 stage ugh. grateful and excited to see yixing again too next ep! hopefully this means we wont get some nonsense judging like last time... also excited to see momo with his pink hair! and in the same perf as zhan yu and akey (what happened to jin fan lol) everyone having colorful hair will be exciting!

probably him being a touch too open-minded and overly generous with his time to the point that he wears himself super super thin and tired. he's kind of that extreme of being too self-sacrificing? 

Noryn reminds him that he doesn't owe everyone he comes in contact with that kind of life-changing attention and focus, especially if those people take advantage of his kindness.

Noryn is very much "i have limited time and energy in this one body, I focus on saving the one person I can" whereas Matthew is the "I want to brighten everyone's day, and give them what I didn't have or give them something only I can provide"

right, its complain about sims 4 time

i just watched a simmer erin video about how broken the game is and she made Several Points the only thing is, i know for a fact that sims 4 is never going to get fixed its not going to make EA any money so they won't do it. instead they'll just milk us for more money until the game is so bloated with content and they're ready to move onto sims 5 im very attached to sims 4 because i spent my money on it, so despite sims 5 coming i wont move onto it until its got a lot of content in it  (and also i learned my lesson. i will be pirating lmao) the only solace i get is that whether i spent money or crimed sims 4 it would still be unplayable so at least theres that the problem is, definitely, that the sims team is too small and too temporary. lemme make some Points

1. EA is a capitalist company. theyre only going to do shit that will generate maximum profit. where did that billion that the sims 4 make go? directly into the higher up's pocket

2. nothing is going to change because EA doesn't give a shit. the only thing that would make them fix their business practices? if there was a mass strike among devs across multiple games/franchises. however, devs are unlikely to do that because their livelihood is at stake. they make good money, and aren't willing to give that up. i dont blame them for that. there's just too much hesitance and risk for such a mass strike to happen unless EA does something really shitty like wage cutting, mass layoffs, or crunch, similar to what happened with Telltale. 

as an aside i had to pause my rant to find out what game company just went under lmao took forever but yeah it was telltale

3. speaking of the sim gurus, i also can't blame them that much for sticking with a shitty game. they probably have little choice and are making the most of it, making the best of what they can with what resources that EA gives them. by that i mean they'd prefer not to rock the boat and risk losing their job. its a competitive world out there for creatives wanting to work full time on a big project such as the sims. if they left it might take them a while to find a position with the same amount of creative control and leadership roles, aside from starting an indie game, which is HARD AF on its own. Of course they'll get defensive over something they think they worked hard on, even though the outcome is.... less than stellar. 

not that we shouldn't keep criticizing them though. unfortunately the only way players can *try* to get their complaints across are through the sim gurus. EA wont hear directly from us

4. lots of the teams working on packs are temporary and on contracts. they simply aren't as motivated to put their heart and soul into the game. again, they are also just employees, and temporary ones at that. to them its just another job on the rotation and they're only looking to get paid. they're only looking to get by and dont care much about what happens after their contracts are up. this is not their fault. EA has the money to hire people full time, and to encourage better quality control and passion for their work. but they dont, why? because that's too much accountability for such a shitty company. I can bet you my game that they don’t have a permanent team dedicated to bug fixing. 

5. the people who are permanently working on the game arent given enough resources to work on bug fixes (which players seem the most concerned about right now) but only given time to work on stuff that will generate immediate profit. the problem with the sims games (over all!! not just s4) is that they aren't built to last long. so EA is just killing time right now. they aren't concerned about how much money they'll make from the game once its run its course. all you need to do is look at sims 3 for proof of that.

6. my theory is that the vast majority of sims players arent "gamers" and they arent avid players. it may seem like, on twitter, on tumblr, youtube or the forums that there's a lot of players who have lots to say about the game. i dont think so. sims and simulation games are generally seen as "not real games" and "casual games". i think most people arent as dedicated to this game as people think. the majority of money that EA makes off sims 4 are the kind of people who noticed that the sims basegame was on sale/free. they are the kind of people who only play "casual" games for a small portion of their time and dont really care about the problems it has. they are always very silent about the issues that dedicated players have with EA and the game, and honestly dont play it very much. I had a brief conversation with my coworkers the other day about this, and they didn't seem to be aware of the game's issues, just oh yeah, “i bought the sims and played it for a bit”. I think a big portion of the profits come from players like that and parents gifting games to their kids, who don’t have critical thinking yet. but thats just a theory.... a gAmE tHeOrY

on a happier note my favourite manager made us all in the sims because he missed us. hes my only valid manager and thats because we are both gay. solidarity.

Pairing: Josh Dun x reader

Author’s note: Here is the second part to this fic! Also, no, I will not write a part three! I ended it like because I liked it! The rest is up to your imagination!

“Stay in place!” you snarled at this strip of hair that was not behaving as you wished it would. Finally, you got your hair to look presentable, and you took a step back to look over your outfit. You went casual since you were only hanging out at your house, but you wanted to make an impression!

He was used to seeing you in work clothes, which was very different than your usual style, but you were still glad that your work did not require an outfit. No aprons, not khaki shorts, and not all black shoes. 

The doorbell buzzed from downstairs and it made your heart jump the tiniest breath. You took some deep breaths to keep yourself under control and headed towards your front door. Josh’s shadow was visible through the blurred glass and he was pacing from side to side. You wondered if he was as nervous as you were, but you also told yourself to not get your hopes up or expect anything from this simple hangout. 

“Josh!” you greeted him with a huge toothy smile as you whipped the door open. Josh turned his head quickly and grinned back. His pink hair was extra fluffy, and he was wearing a white tank top with black jean shorts. 

“Y/N! Your house is so nice,” he gestured to the outside with his right hand. His left was behind his back, and before your eyes, he pulled out a bouquet of flowers. 

“Josh, you didn’t have to!” you blushed, but you took them anyways. They were sunflowers and their bright yellow leaves reflected onto your nose as you took a sniff. 

“I know I didn’t, but I wanted to be nice!” he tilted his head a little as he inspected how you were reacting. You knew that it was obvious you were blushing, but you wanted to hide the fact that you were internally freaking out that he brought you flowers. You wanted to go write this in your diary immediately, even though you knew you could wait until later. 

“Come on in,” you led the way back to your kitchen so you could put the delicate flowers into a vase of freshwater. The last thing you wanted happening was the flowers dying on your watch. 

“Man, this house is so nice!” he said as he gawked at the random decor you had sprawled out. 

“Thank you! I live with my roommate but they are away on vacation for a few days, the beach I think, but they did most of the decorating!”

“Not your strong suit?” Josh teased.

You giggled, “Not at all.” Josh had this look he would give you every time you would giggle, and you weren’t sure how to even describe it. His lips would curl up into the tiniest smirk, just enough so his eyes crinkled, and he would softly bite his lower lip. That look was going to be the death of you. 

“So you ready to get your butt whooped at video games?” he clapped his hands together and rubbed them menacingly.

“You can try,” you sing-songed. “First I need to go to the bathroom so you can stay down here and pick out a game! They’re in the cupboard under the television!” you called out. Josh nodded and you headed upstairs. 

You didn’t really have to go to the bathroom, but you were having so much pent up anxiety about all the thoughts swirling in your head, and you needed to get them written down in your diary. 

Omg, you won’t even guess what is happening! Joshua Dun is in my house right now and he brought me flowers! Its so obvious that he likes me, which im glad, but i dont know how fast he moves! 

You took a break to roll out your wrist since you were writing so fast.

He gives me this look and his literal crinkle and sparkle! And his shoulders...oh my lord! He is not only the most attractive man in the world but he also is the sweetest and funniest! I think i have found the one. Not trying to set me up for or disappointment anything! Have i mentioned how I want to run my hands through his soft pink clouds aka his hair? 

You sighed as you begin to think more about Josh, but then you realized you had been up in your room for longer than you had anticipated. You quickly layed your diary on your bed and skipped down to your living room. Josh was sitting on the couch already playing super Mario bros. 

“I thought you might have fallen int he toilet but here you are!” Josh chuckled. 

“Sorry, girl problems,” you lied. 

“Ah, gotcha,” Josh kept his eyes glued on the tv screen, making sure to not make a dumb mistake that resulted in a loss. “Grab a remote and join!”

“Okay!” you snatched the other controller and joined in. You were pretty good at this game, and you were glad Josh didn’t choose one where it was actually a competition. This game allows you two to work together as a team instead, which you enjoyed. 

“Hey, you’re pretty good at this!” Josh explained and you just laughed.

“I told you!” 

“Watch out!” Josh shrieked as Bowser came running into the level. 

“It’s the boss level!” you cried out as you died. “Dang it.”

“Hey, it’s okay!” Josh rubbed your knee with his hand. His thumbs were calloused and it made you get goosebumps. 

“I’ll do better next time,” you sighed nervously. 

“Are you cold, or are my hands giving you shivers?” Josh asked, peeking over at you. “I can see you’re blushing, Y/N.”

What? No, I’m not!” you said frantically but Josh shushed you with his finger. He then grabbed the bottom of your chin and pulled you towards him until your lips met. He kissed you softly, but for a while before you both pulled away. 

“Was that okay?” Josh whispered. 

You nodded, “More than okay, you don’t understand how much I’ve wanted to kiss you.” 

“Hey, I have an idea,” Josh whispered in your ear. “Take me to your bedroom.”

You sucked in a breath and slowly nodded. You tightened your legs together as you stood up and grabbed his hand. The walk to your bedroom was slow, but before you were even fully in there Josh was already grabbing you for another kiss. This time more passionate. 

He laid you down on your bed so that he was over you and he kissed you. It felt so good and you found yourself almost whimpering at wanting more. Suddenly, the kisses stopped and you felt his lips retreat from yours. 

“Josh?” you asked.

“What is this?” he whispered, looking right past your right ear. You turned your head to see what he was looking at it. 

You gasped, “No!” You quickly tried to grab for it but Josh was quicker and beat you to it. 

“Pink clouds? Most attractive? My eyes crinkle?” Josh smiled at you and you hid your face behind your hands from embarrassment. 

“It’s my diary, you weren’t ever supposed to read that,” you mumbled. You felt like crying. You were mortified. 

“Y/N, it’s okay. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have read it. I saw my name so I got interested but I didn’t mean to invade your privacy.”

“It’s okay,” you sniffled. “Just embarrassing.”

“Don’t be embarrassed,” Josh kissed your forehead. “Just reassures me that you feel the same way for me as I do for you.”

You smiled up at him, “Really?”

Favorite video game?

starting off with the absolute hardest question huh? i can’t possibly name ONE favorite game of mine because i adore my favorites for many different reasons. my overall favorite video game is ffxv or botw. ffxv because it has brought me so much joy for such a long time, and because i have such a connection with the characters. botw because i was actually in the fandom when it first got announced in 2016 so i got to be there when the hype was at an all time high– and finally being able to play the game after waiting for so long was an unforgettable experience. i have more favorite games but ill talk more about them in the ‘’special place in ur heart’’ question.

First console you owned?

my first console wasn’t a console. my friend and i used to play on her nintendo dsi all the time and at one point tiny little me reeeally wanted one of my own so i saved up and got one in [redacted] when i was 7. my first actual console was a wii though, we got that around the same time.

A game that holds a special place in your heart?

ffxv and botw mean the absolute world to me, but super mario galaxy and skyward sword are very important to me too. skyward sword is the game that got me into zelda which got me into anime which got me into final fantasy etc etc etc.  super mario galaxy was the first non-mini game collection and more adventure story-ish game i played. i was so proud when i beat it for the first time and mario was my first ever ‘’fandom’’ :’) 

Favorite video game character?

bro. i cant pick just one so i’ll choose one per game : prompto, ryuji and link. they were all my comfort characters at some point and i projected like crazy onto them. this doesnt mean that i wouldnt absolutely die for noct or zelda.

i dont think theres anyone i distinctly dislike? i always talk about hating ardyn but that’s because he’s just a salty bitch. as a character i think he’s a great villain and i rly love him. i honestly always end up liking everyone somehow, maybe there is someone i just forgot about but i cant remember at all.

every character ever, but i distinctly remember the moment i fell in love with prompto sjghfkshd i was watching a playthrough of xv in december 2016 because i didnt have a ps4, and the guy got to the scene in galdin quay where the bros learn insomnia fell. i had watched about 6 hours of the game by that time and wasn’t particularly interested in the characters but not uninterested enough to drop it. i hadnt even gotten a good look at the characters faces yet, so when the camera zoomed in on prompto when he said ‘’might not be save for us here!’’ i noticed he had freckles. oh god. oh fuck. oh my god hes fucking cute. oh my god better watch 30 hours of this game now

First video game you remember playing?

wayyy before i got my own gaming systems, my then-best friend had a gamecube in her attic. i was around 5 or 6 at the time. whenever i was over at her house and we didnt know what to do, she’d sometimes propose to play ‘’mario kart’’. important is that we are dutch, and i was a literal child. i thought mario KART meant it was a fucking card game, so i always declined whenever she asked. on one fateful day, i finally gave in and was pleasantly surprised it was in fact not a card game, but a viddy game. so we played mario kart double dash. (…i had never played a video game in my life besides browser flash games and was Very Very bad)

Age you started gaming?

so i played my first video game that i didnt own when i was about 5 or 6. then i got my first supply of games at age 7/8, but i dont really consider that time to be when i started ‘’gaming’’. i’d say that was when i started mario galaxy, so i’ve been playing video games for real (ie. story adventure games with boss battles) for about 6 years now.

Hardest video game you’ve played?

this is gonna sound stupid, but the witcher 3. there’s like 7 difficulties and i played on the EASIEST and still had a hard time, i just couldnt get used to the combat. i had the same problem with assassin’s creed syndicate, but after about 10 hours i actually knew what i was doing, and ive played the witcher longer than that and still am clueless. this is kind of an unpopular opinion but i dont particularly like that game

Video game you’ve spent the most time on?

i guess i am what you’d call a casual gamer; i really like video games but during a normal school week i only game for like 2-6 hours. most of the time i dont play for like 2 weeks if im busy. gaming has kind of taken over my life not because i play so much but because i get so emotionally invested lol i’m currently on summer break and even now im not playing a lot because of exhaustion and executive dysfunction. this derailed slightly but the game i’ve played the most despite my casual gamer status is …. … …. ffxv. surprise, right? the runner up is botw, but xv wins by a landslide. 630+ hours. botw is 350. my main save in ffxv is almost 200 hours i think. damn. i really managed to keep myself entertained with that game… (………i was thinking recently, since the loading screens in xv are so long, how much of this total amount was spent watching screens. i imagine it’s several hours, especially if you fast travel a lot.)

Most embarrassing gaming moment?

many moments in my gaming experience are embarrassing, but a more recent one: i was in xv’s postgame, beating some dungeons on my new save file. i had just finished daurell caverns and hadn’t saved in about 2 hours. (uh oh) i was driving around in the regalia type d and got to the big cliff near lestallum, and remembered someone made a gif of jumping in there so i wanted to try it too. i imagined the game would just put me back on the road, like it does when you crash into something. except it didnt. i got a game over. where was my last save? 2 hours back all the way in hammerhead. yippee.

Scariest video game you’ve played?

i never play horror games, cuz for me games are supposed to be relaxing experiences. no hate towards horror games of course, they just stress me out. the only time ive played horror is when friday the 13th was for free on ps+, and my friends really wanted to play it. (theyre kinda addicted to it now. huh) they had already gotten over the initial fear of having jason chase you, but i was still terrified. i can play the game without getting scared now tho. the horror sound effects just rly freaked me out at first jhsdkghsd

Most memorable gaming moment?

playing breath of the wild for the first time, or beating it for the first time. both experiences were filled to the brim with excitement and nostalgia. seeing botw as a blank slate, a world for you to explore, having no idea where you’re going… that was pretty incredible. now i know every nook and cranny of the map, so i wish i could play it for the first time again. i was so incredibly immersed. beating it was insane. i cried for 30 minutes and the end wasnt even sad, i was just so amazed at the fact that i was really here, playing breath of the wild, it was really real. the fucking main theme in the background (which i cannot for the life of me listen to without crying) didnt help with my emotions sgkdjh

i dont care about console wars at all, but i think hardware-wise, pc is the best, because if you have a good pc you can basically do anything. i however do not, so i just play on consoles. ive never particularly liked xbox, so i only play ps4 and nintendo. not the switch though. its kinda petty, but my best friend and i really dont like the switch djghks

Gaming company you’re most loyal to?

none. i used to call myself a nintendo nerd (oh my god…. i m. gonna die) in like 2015 but since the switch came out and since i got a ps4 they kinda lost me. i still like their game series of course, but as a company i don’t care for them. the only reason i see square enix as one of ‘’my’’ gaming companies is because ffxv took up like 70% of my gaming experience, but besides final fantasy i don’t really love them too much either.

atm i’m really into ffxiv because theres just so much to do, but that’s just a new, possibly temporary interest. if i had to choose, i’d say botw. maybe i’d say ffxv, but i feel like running around doing nothing in that game isnt very fun, because the world is sorta empty after completing every quest and getting to level 120. in botw, just fucking around on your horse is still really relaxing and nice. 

Do you use strategy guides?

yup. in certain games i try to avoid them but i usually end up stuck or in need of advice. i couldn’t have gotten so many p5 trophies if not for the internet lol

How often do you use cheats?

never, simply because the games i play often do not have cheats. unless im playing the sims and are in need of a motherlode, i dont use them.

Competitive or single player?

single player. im bad at video games and like to do stuff at my own pace. online multiplayer can be fun every now and then in games like mario kart 8 or splatoon, and i also like teamwork stuff like ffxiv or comrades. but ultimately, i prefer playing on my own.

Hardest boss fight you’ve been in?

the hardest bosses for me are usually the ones with a gimmick. you have to use a certain item or tactic to beat them or something. other hard fights for me are when you fight someone with a similar skill set. (in ffxv, this happens twice, once with the iggy-noct sparring match and once against ardyn. somehow, the final boss was easier than getting the prince to eat vegetables.) i don’t know an actual example of THE hardest boss fight ive been in though. at the time, the first bowser battle in mario galaxy was the hardest thing in the universe and i got stuck for like a month. currently, i’m having trouble with the riku-ansem fight in kh1. 

Video game you wish you could burn from your memory?

the zelda cdi games? no, i dont really know. i dont hate a game so much that i’d want to forget about it altogether, but i dont exactly love ocarina of time that much. it hasnt aged well and playing it on the gamecube for the first time in 2015 wasnt a good idea. im sure it was revolutionary at the time, but i cant handle the outdated controls gsdgksjs

you've heard of "so bad its good", but the worst thing is "so hard its good". video games that have almost nothing going for them besides insane difficulty. theres nothing wrong with these games existing, i just...dont like them. sure, it can be rewarding to hone your skills and pull off the hardest tricks, but if i have no option but to grind, practice, or try over and over for a game that doesnt interest me story-wise or thematically... im gonna quit.

i dont play video games to be good. i play for fun. if people want a more challenging experience, they should be able to, but that shouldn't be the default. i enjoy games that anyone can play casually, but also have harder modes, competitive modes, or potential for speedrunning, so people who want that extra toughness and bragging rights.

but if id rather watch a playthrough online than play it myself, then... i dunno. you're targeting a pretty small audience.

Even if its genetic for ben solo, doesnt mean thats how it happens for everyone. Like disney changed the canon that everyone is sensitive to the force but not everyone is force sensitive. It probably manifests in different ways. I think everyone can improve, heighten their awareness and control, but everyone has a cap. Not because theyre weak or pathetic or meagor, their strength is just elsewhere like all talents and abilities Which is why elias in any verse being able to compete with ren makes sense without it feeling like a "god mode"
