Comic Con 2024

Like RDJ, your last Marvel movie had been Avengers: Endgame. After being in ten mcu films, it was time to say goodbye to your character.

But that was in 2019.

At this years comic con, you were back. The cast of Deadpool & Wolverine had taken the stage and showed their appreciation for the fans. After their panel, it was time to announce Marvel’s upcoming projects. Kevin Feige announced the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Captain America 4, and finally the new Avengers movies, which everyone was extremely excited about.

After showing the title card for the upcoming Avengers film, Kevin turned to the audience.

“Something people have been asking, as of late, is who the heck is going to direct these two movies?” The audience clapped.

From the side of the stage, you were nervous. What if the fans didn’t like the idea of you directing the next two Avengers films? Your worrying caused Hugh to come to your rescue.

“Hey, they loved you as an Avenger, they will love you even more.” Hugh kissed your forehead. “If anyone says anything about this decision, they have me to deal with.”

You laughed at his words. “I really love you so much.”

“Love you too, bub.” Hugh was about to kiss you when Ryan cut in.

“I really love us too. I convinced half of the people here that we’re a throuple.” He said in the most serious tone ever.

Kevin announced you as the director. Your doubt of the fans not liking the announcement was proven wrong when you walked the stairs to the stage and stood next to Kevin. They cheered when they saw you were back.

As you said a few words, thanking Marvel, Kevin and the fans, you were being recorded by Hugh, who was being recorded by Ryan.

Ever After High rewrite - Kitty Cheshire

So lately I have been toying with some ideas for a reboot of ever after high that acts as a remake but also as a continuation of the original.

Ions story short.

The reboot would be that of a movie (this was in response to the Monster High film) and while the film would act as a highlight of “The Story book of Legends” + other episodes, characters start getting a sense of deja vu. It’s revealed that Duchess has been using a power that has been resetting the universe and repeating the last four years of their Highschool life out of fear of her destiny.

The would allow the series to revisit past storylines of the original series, allow continuations or make corrections. It would be able to ready for new fans as well as for old fans without going against what Ever After High is about - the story of the ever changing narrative.

While im a huge follower of “if you want a diverse cast, make new characters” if you had to make changes to the existing characters, this would also fall into the meta commentary. This would allow new storylines where certain characters who either remember their old lives or have to come face to face with the existential crisis that they aren’t who they are.

One of the set of characters I think would be interesting is the wonderlandians (trust me, I have a huge story for Maddie) where as since Wonderland is separate from Ever After, they should be the most accurate visually to their original versions. In fact their outfits I think, if this reboot was live action, the outfits should be the most accurate of the set designs as they would be just perfectly cartoonishly contrasting to the other set designs.

For Kitty’s case, a storyline I have an idea for is the following.

So in the film there is a sequence that follows “the cat that cried wolf” and up to the ending it is fairly accurate and when Kitty is teasing Cerise (again, let’s make her Pakistani) right before Raven is about to use her spell you see Kitty’s smile disappear before she goes “You know what… forget about it. This just isn’t the same. I’m done with this.” Before disappearing and leaving the two in disbelief.

It’s revealed that Kitty is one of the characters that remembers the past. Maybe it’s because she is wonderland in, maybe it’s because she has a connection to the narrators, but for whatever reason she remembers the every loop. So the idea of her having to repeat “the cat the cried wolf” finally reached her breaking point. She then becomes one of the characters that confronts Duchess in the climax.

As the series starts proper, and several characters are beginning to learn that the world they live in isn’t actual their own world, there seems to be a cold disconnect with Kitty. She still does her pranks and stuff as a way to have fun, but it also becomes something as a way to blow off some steam.

Cerise finally confronts Kitty. Cerise feels targeted in a way where she is getting pranked a lot, but also just getting ignored when the prank is over. Cerise is wondering if the car is targeting her for some odd reason.

When confronted about this, Kitty attempts to just leave but Cerise stops her. The two just look at one another.

“…you are just like her.” Kitty says. It’s shown she remembers all the previous time-loops. “But you aren’t my Cerise.”

Kitty is shown living in the past. She had gone through so many time loops that at first it was fun and chaotic, but as things started changing, she was only coming to the realization that things weren’t going to be the same.

She reminisces about her past, times left forgotten from their world. She knows she is an outsider, but she can’t find herself fitting in.

While characters are coming to terms of their own existential crises, Kitty has to come to terms with the fact that she can’t go back. She can accept this world, but she knows she doesn’t belong here.

She has many past regrets from the previous time loops, but all of them are pointless in the new world. That is her cross that has to carry. She wants to go back, but she knows she can’t.

While others are growing in this new ever changing time, Kitty is finding herself frozen in time. Wishing she could go back to things much simpler.

While characters like Cerise are finding their new selves, all Kitty can think about is her old friends.

I mean how could she be with the new friends when all she can hear and see are those that are long gone.

They're watching a movie on Webflix, a movie that Margo chose ("It's not so bad," she told them.) And that was perfect, because at the moment, it was an average movie that they needed to watch. With this, they could continue talking while paying a little attention to what was going on.

It's hot in Mumbattan. The three guests each brought a fan, but it wasn't enough. Gwen didn't know she would need a seventy-centimeter-high pot of ice cream in her life until Margo told her it existed on her Earth.

Drowning your sorrows in ice cream, that's the ideal solution!

And by sticking your hands on it, you could be sure of being cooled off.

Gwen also had to admit that she'd seen… better than that. It was a film aimed at young adults (and to be completely honest, female young adults), very cliché and sometimes lame. Fortunately, the two main actors came to save the shaky scenario.

“Margo, I thought you said it was a good movie… Peni whined.

— Actually, I said “not so bad”.

— That’s not the word I would have used to describe it…”

“So, about your parents? Gayatri asked. How's it going?

— Still through divorce, but there's progress! If lawyers are right, just another month and it will finally be behind!"

With the divorce, Margo was already planning a lot of things: for starters, she will finally be able to invite her friends to her dimension without having to hide all the details of their visit. But also organize parties: Margo had parties in her soul.

Her mother was often away for work, and she intended to take advantage of it.

“Cool, I’ll come to squat more then, replied Gwen.

— Only if you bring cakes, it’s not open bar here.

— Deal."

Teaser 2 / CW : Implied nudity

Satisfied with her work, she comes to join him in the bathtub. He, in the meantime, had managed (with great difficulty) to sit down in the water. She comes to settle in too, pressing her back against the wall, which is still a little cold despite the scalding water.

When she opens her arms, Miles understands the message and comes to stick to her, letting her surround his body with her arms. He doesn't need to be asked to put his head back where it was earlier, that is to say against her neck, and once again inhales the comforting smell of peaches.

She lets her hands absently caress his chest and back, rubbing the bath suds onto his skin. He hums in pleasure and contentment, pressing himself deeper into her.

He knows he shouldn't. He had spent the last few hours trying to convince himself that he absolutely had to end this twisted relationship with her before it was too late.

But the feeling of her body against his acted like morphine, and he was addicted to it. He wants this moment to never end. He hears Gwen in the distance asking him if he wants her to wash his hair: that was probably a bad idea given the time. He would probably fall asleep with wet hair, and his mother would go crazy if she saw him do that, especially at this time of year.

But the “yes,” leaves his mouth before he can even form that coherent thought. She makes him to stand up so she can access his shampoos, and grabs the shower head, making sure to lower the water temperature to rinse his hair.

He closes his eyes, and he feels like he's falling asleep almost immediately. But he stays awake just so he doesn't miss what happens next.

IMPORTANT NOTE : hey people who actually speak english unlike me, would you mind helping me ? In Teaser number 1, i said "Four depressed teenage girls". So idk if it's okay in english, but since it doesn't work in french it makes me confused. (part 2. now featuring me rambling about a Modern Triguns hc i have)

okay so im Native American and i do think, in my hc (not yours. wanna reiterate that i am saying this for Fun Conversation and not to convince you of shit), i really like the idea of Vash and Knives being either surrounded by Indigenous American influence (people who are non-Indigenous can live on our reservations, maybe Rem is Indigenous and is cross-racially fostering them, i dunno) or Vash and Knives are white-passing Indigenous Americans themselves (i say "white-passing" bc i know their creator is Japanese but also Vash and Knives are pale-skinned, blue-eyed, blond boys so im assuming they are white? but some Japanese people could be mixed, that's true. i dont know enough about Trigun to know ethnicity canon/fanon, i just know "ah!!! they might be blond and blue-eyed, but i see Me in them!" so. headcanon. anyway)

and i say that bc a huge part of a pan-Indigenous culture (not that we are a monolith to generalize, theres so many fucking tribes and specific tribal cultures, but you get what i mean) is focused on the enviroment and our interconnectedness to it, ontop of our history of being genocided against up until the last Indian Residential School closed down in 2007 and we had our right to practice our culture given to us in 1978 (so 1978 is actually when American achieved religious-freedom) and now we are facing various Indigenous protective laws being disbanded in the U.S.-- it's easy for any marginalized group, esp ethnicities, to see relatability in the Plants. like, the Americas were founded with the blood of Black and Indigenous people. but also many other cultures have faced similar experiences. so i do think its easy to project any marginalized culture that has suffered onto Plants. its just also cool to be like "yo, my culture is very much based on protecting and understanding the enviroment, and this fictional group is called PLANTS? hell yeah, easy projection" but like. we arent the only culture that does that. so i dont think Indigenous Americans are special any form of projecting ourselves with Plants/Trigun. i just also AM Indigenous American and also AM projecting. so. im biased

and i am, in fact, doubly biased bc my Indigenous American father was a BIG fan of westerns, something Knives loves. my dad loved them bc He Is Very Old (im talking "my dad was 60, close to 70 when i was born" old. my mother is his second wife and they met when she was 40. so i was "wow thats late to have a baby, but not SUPER dangerous") and, though things have gotten slightly better since he was my age but uh.. the reason why he liked old westerns so much was because that WAS the only place where he could see people like him on-screen. even tho they died half the time. and were often racist. highly recommend the documentary "Reel Injun" if you would like a summary on how Indigenous people have been depicted on film, it is very funny for a documentary lmao but anyway, yes, this does also mean my dad was a Twilight fan. he watches those movies all the time (even tho they are ALSO racist against us, but its still really funny to say my dad is a Twi-hard lmao). and my dad wasnt alone in being like that, a LOT of Indigenous people my age (mid-20s) grew up with old western movies and whatnot bc it was the only representation we had for a long time, even moreso for any generation older than us. i can still hear "John Wayne's Teeth Hey-a, Hey-Hey-a" a'la the 90s movie, Smoke Signals, being chanted in my mind lmao

so Knives' lil "bang, bang" and how much he loved old west content made me feel especially seen lmao so i like the idea of him and Vash either being raised in an Indigenous culture by Indigenous people or being Indigenous themselves and being raised by Indigenous people. it brings me joy ♡ especially the latter, bc, tho im not blond and blue-eyed, i am white-passing. people assume i am white until i "out" myself (im also queer, i label myself as Two-Spirited actually, so i am using the verbage "out" knowingly lmao). i grew up hating my pale skin and my monolingual tongue, because that meant i looked like a colonizer and spoke the colonizer's langauge (and i, unfortunately, dont have the kind of brain that absorbs second languages well. at all. damn you auditory processing disorder lmao rip). i wanted to look more like my Indigenous relatives, and less like my white mother who married into our culture. and i see Knives' hatred of Plants' oppressors, and with the modern au and my hc of Indigentity and my personal history of struggling with self-hatred, and i see reflections of myself in him

and like. Knives' desire to kill all humans isnt translatable in a contemporary context, really. i dunno what job i would want my hc of him to have. you could argue he would be on the side of the extremeists in protesting, But Equating A Genocidal Character To A Contemporary Protestor feels.. bad lmao thats an understatement. but like. yeah, i do hc my personal modern au Knives to be a Land Back protestor, and i think Vash would agree actually. but im biased bc i support that movement too lmao i think the fact that Knives is so untranslatable to a modern context in all his variety adds to the tragedy of the Trigun/Trimax/Trigun Stampede/what-have-you narrative. i think modern au Knives might be antagonistic and a nag (or i could empathize with seeing him as modern cult-leader, tho thats irrelevant to this conversation. just bc i can empathize with it, doesnt mean i would ever create content of it or have it as my hc. cults are serious stuff people shouldnt trivialize and i dont have any experience with them, but if people want to vent out their feelings about cults using a modern Knives au?? i can understand that, im using him to project and vent too afterall lmao) to his brother, maybe be estranged, but overall i think the rift between them would be easier to breach than in the canon

i just find modern au Knives to, at least have the capacity to be, more sympathetic than his canon counterparts in all their variancies. he's fun to stretch around and play with lol

I'm always a little hesitant to do any in-depth headcanoning about the intricacies of racial minorities because I'm a very white person myself (a quarter Korean technically, but a blue-eyed blondie nonetheless), so it's really cool to read in-depth and interesting takes from people who obviously have a better scope on the ins and outs than I would!

I agree that Knives's genocidal nature isn't really easy to translate to a modern era. He's a tough guy to nail down! In my head at least, he's more of a nihilistic environmentalist while Vash is an optimistic one. I see him working in a very white-coat, laboratory, scientific field when it comes to conservation, he just strikes me as a scientist type. Him and Vash don't always see eye to eye on everything, and oftentimes he thinks he has to protect Vash because his brother is far too forgiving to the world, no matter how cruel it's been to him. But Vash doesn't want to be coddled either, he's not naive. He's making a conscious effort every day to choose to see the good in the world around them, and for one reason or another Nai just can't wrap his head around that.

He still loves his westerns though, I'm definitely keeping that. Nai was glued to Vash's stream when he was playing through Red Dead Redemption 2, no matter how much he says he doesn't care for video games.

☕ + current state of the mcu

this is pretty hard, b/c i'm gonna be honest, i stopped watching sometime after the first seasons of the spin-off disney+ shows.

out of the spinoffs, i liked wandavision the most. felt the most entertaining/intriguing

tfatws was okay-ish, i'm actually in the sam should be cap camp so that worked for me but overall i found myself p bored conceptually with the show, it definitely didn't feel like anything new. i'm so beyond tired of the mcu coming back to the "glitch" and the super-serum

i absolutely hated the loki show i'm sorry. and i say this as a huge loki fan as my edits will kinda speak for but everything i loved about him was basically stripped away and it felt like i was watching a new character. the worldbuilding was awful, the concept somehow managed to be boring, the show felt static, the acting either bland or over-the-top, with the most ham-fisted dialogue i've ever seen.

um. thor 4. i was excited bc i enjoyed ragnarok for the most part. i think it has its flaws, but it was entertaining, i enjoyed hela a lot as a villain, i liked the new direction thor was moving in, but i honestly turned it on and turned it off within the first ten minutes. i was kinda convinced it was a joke. (this says a lot tbh bc im a huge thor lover, to the point of defending some of the p bad writing his franchise gets stuck with)

those last two were kinda the nail in the coffin for me. overall, i feel they've really oversaturated their own market quite badly, and it's putting out show after show (movie after movie for a while there too), often poorly produced, relying heavily on vfx, often re-using same past plot points. with old characters gone, a lot of the nostalgia that kept people tied to it is gone and i don't think many of their new projects have been exciting to get people invested the way they used to, tbh.

in general, this problem is more of disney+ problem i think. i find that when i've watched other disney+ shows (just recently watched percy jackson, but also the star wars spinoffs like the mandalorian and obi wan kenobi) i am struck by how poorly produced many of them are. the plot is paper-thin, there's almost no physicality to any of the sets bc of the overreliance on cgi, costuming/makeup has gone downhill, writing has been stripped down where there's no subplots interweaving at the same time, just point a to point b, then the next episode is point b to point c. even shows i've enjoyed have this issue, and they end up feeling so soulless.

I FINALLY watched that barbie movie that came out, i watched it last night! it was cute and pretty solid i thought. and then immediately after finishing that i watched the 1989 found footage tv movie ufo abduction/the mcpherson tape?

barbie was mostly very funny (that smallpox joke is inexcusable tho) it seems aimed for maybe a tween-teen kind of audience? i havent heard of many big huge movies aimed at that demographic recently so thats really nice

im especially glad they didnt call stuff like happy family midge and earring magic ken like "recalled" or "banned" or whatever 'cause thats just one of those myths LOL BUT discontinued is a weird term... yeah they were discontinued but like. all dolls are some day. from what i can tell both those dolls werent even like prematurely (heh) discontinued or anything most reports seem that happy family midge sold okay (although there seems to have been controversies at least with the wedding ring and cardboard cutout husband situations) and earring magic ken probably didnt sell well. because hes ken. the earring magic barbies in the line probably sold better LOL i guess a better term could have been like. controversial barbies? infamous barbies? sugar's daddy ken is true and hilarious tho, although if i remember correctly it was like a collectors doll meant for adults that just never got released in the first place

ive been joking to myself for years that barbie is the name of the species, ken might be some kind of subspecies, so it is funny to see the brand in both real life stores and also this movie lean into that. barbie really is a species. they do move in herds. wait im getting distracted anyway years ago barbie had a big refresh where they leaned into the idea that anyone can be barbie - everyone is barbie: they brought out new body types (standard, tall, short, and slightly curvy) which was a big step, a bigger range of skintones and all kinds of new face molds and screenings, also theres like bald barbies and barbies with prosthetics and wheelchair barbies are made way more often. and all this is fantastic. but unfortunately the blonde blue eyed millie sculpts still haunt most non-fashionista releases.... stereotypical barbie u dont know what u are.... its a shame they didnt reference the millie sculpt in the movie i woulda died LOL

but i always thought it was pretty wack that they made all these cool dolls and then relegated them to wear t shirt dresses for eternity. i like that the budget line is so diverse and i dont even mind the lack of articulation that much (although i do miss basic 9 point articulation where are my elbows and knees) but GOD those outfits. can be ROUGH. and WHY do they never put like half of the diverse dolls in other playsets WHY cant basketball barbie be bald WHEN will i get that prosthetic leg barbie as a fairy like youve put all this effort into all this diversity and then ur doing NOTHING with it mattel im begging u. im begging u. make a fantasy wheelchair barbie i know you can do it. i know you can do it

NOW to the second half of that very odd double feature i gave myself last night UFO ABDUCTION its basically considered the first found footage horror movie, as a tv movie from 1989, and lemme tell u IT IS hard to watch LOL not because its like scary but like. because its a little bit bad <3 but its okay i dont mind, the main character behind the camera got pretty insufferable near the end (would not shut up and made it hard to hear the other actors orz) but it was only an hour and had like no budget - plus i love seeing where so much of the genre came from. im glad to know people screaming at the main character to shut that damn camera off has been here since the very beginning. i also loved the stupid alien costumes its such a shame theyre only in there for like 3 scenes they were the best part: genuinely kind of creepy at the first sight at the ufo landing because theyre so far away and low quality, and also really silly and goofy when they walk right up to the camera <3 <3 <3

hsr is rlly fun tbh, the combats not overly complex (which is helpful because complex combat makes my brain hurt LMAO), the actual game itself keeps invested in terms of story and worldbuilding, both things that i look for personally in games; added bonus for hsr is i have enough character investment for two different collections (quantum + nihility characters) which is something i use to keep investment if its waning (if its card specific ill collect character based, otherwise i like to collect elements/specific classifications; i collect hydros in genshin, for instance) penacony and belobog are fighting for top story quest for me and belobogs mostly up there because i came in after playing up to the sea of quanta in hi3 (i got stuck,,,,) so bronya was my favorite character coming in, which gives belobog extra points for being the bronya region; silver wolf is kind of a permanent fave now, but whatever that's all just additional bullshit LMAO. additional added bonus is the sheer amount of grey haired characters i can go insane about (its like 50% a bit, i genuinely will get invested in grey haired gacha game characters unprompted ;;;) i'd love to nerd out about the lore more simply because its a favorite of mine (the worldbuilding is SO top tier for me which is crazy because usually im not a huge scifi-y fan, i think it gets extra props for the fantasy elements and unrealistic things in space, i.e. the astral express. my fave disney movie is treasure planet so this would make sense), but unfortunately it is 2am where i live and i do not have the brainpower for that rn. last note: it will become my favorite if hyv doesnt pussy out and gives us the rozaliya and liliya expys we deserve. finish the orphanage, hyv. let me get the twins.

Oh, I see! So it's even more impressive than I thought! Which leads me to another, maybe a little inappropriate question. I know that many of your fans like to touch your wings, right? Does it actually feel uncomfortable when they touch your feathers?

When I was driving my car this morning, I thought about how slow 40 mph are compared to your speed! It's a little embarrassing how often I catch myself thinking about you during my day, dear Hawks.

Well, recommending something isn't really that easy. It all comes down to preferences, I guess. One of my all-time favorites has to be Silent Hill. Lately, I've been rewatching the movies that belong to The Conjuring universe and, I guess, the movie The Nun is my favorite of all of them. I also enjoyed The Ritual a lot, The Forest and The Pact. I barely find the time and motivation to read a book as of late, so I can't really recommend any books.

I find crocheting rather relaxing, to be honest. I usually make things that I give away to others as a gift. My biggest project so far was a huge blanket I made last year. It took me about 9 months to finish that one. Sometimes, my fingers and joints hurt from the same repeating motion, but then I usually just take a break for a day or two before I continue. I’m blushing a little at admitting this. When Dan touch my wings it’s not bad it feels kind of nice, like running a hand through your hair. If my feathers are growing back from using them then they can be a sensitive and a bit itchy. Most fans are kind enough to ask before touching my wings. Which I appreciate greatly.

Ah, I haven’t watched the Silent Hill movie, I’ll have to find it and watch it. I watched The Forest about two or so weeks ago. If I’m remember correctly. It was good I’ll give it another watch too. Reading isn’t for everyone, it can be hard. There are so many options out there and its a gamble that the book you pick up with resonate with you and capture your interest.

i HAVE actually!! i watched little women (2019) with two of my favorite people recently and fell head over heels for it. i don't remember the book too well and im sure there are a ton of, er, creative liberties taken with the movie, but it made me really emotional about life and love and family and how the women in my life have shaped me.

also watched the fog for the first time recently! also very good- for very different reasons, JKSDFHKJSDF. both made me miss the beach though. (as you may have noticed if you've been around a minute, im a huge fan of spooky things!! brand new to horror, though, so it was a really nice "baby's first horror movie" type thing. that and alien- another recent addition to my mental catalogue!!)

im very much hoping to see both little mermaid and spidey soon!! ive been super busy these past few weeks with graduations in the family (including celebrating mine, leftover from december HJDSKFHKSJ) and getting all set up for new classes, but i'm hoping the theater may be on my agenda this week. ive been looking forward to these for AGESSSSS. disney and spidey are, like, central to my personality, so im Excited excited.
