please can we stop describing bigots as delusional. please. im so fucking tired. someone being sucked into a hate group surrounded by others who believe minorities should be oppressed and encouraging them to believe in conspiracy theories that the rest of the group believes, is fundamentally different from someone having a mental illness that causes delusions.

delusions, by definition, cannot be explained by things like cultural background - such as having a belief constantly reinforced by intentional attempts to rationalize it for the sake of maintaining power over minorities. yes, someone can be both delusional and a bigot, and yes conspiracy theories can feed into delusions, but the two are not fucking synonymous.

i did not spend my teen years convinced that i was being stalked by demons just to hear so many of you people equate my disability with incel behavior and genocidal propaganda. stop reinforcing harmful connotations about mental health struggles.

this past week I was seeing people say shit like "these stupid dumb conservatives aren't evacuating because they decided to politicize the hurricane!! they think evacuating is woke so they won't do it! I don't feel sorry for you, youre gonna get what's coming!"

while im sure there were a few people like that, rich folks who chose not to evacuate to make a "point", i was so shocked that the victim blaming propaganda began before the storm even hit land. stuck up northern liberals saying that the only folks who didn't evacuate the hurricane are conservatives who are too dumb and dogmatic to evacuate. what about the poor who can't afford to get hotels, or gas to travel, the people who don't have cars? do they deserve it? no. hardly anyone deserves to lose their home, their entire town, their life.

thankfully i haven't seen this rhetoric lately now that we've seen the whole scope of the disaster. but god, the people of the south deserves better.

kinda baffles me when people think Light never realized he was killing innocent people who were wrongfully convicted. One of his first big moves was killing 12 cops who he absolutely thought were guiltless, that kid for sure ran the numbers and decided to go for it anyway because, again, his dad is a cop in a country with the death penalty. Light WANTS to be come a cop that enforces this system. He probably came to terms with the idea of that a helluva long time ago.

that god-complex is no accident, given the amount and type of symbolism this is definitely pulling old testament style. Light would probably consider himself significantly more benevolent by comparison.

Wrongfully convicted people being killed by the 'justice system' is something a lot of governments have decided is a risk that's worth taking 'for the good of the people'. Light "Call me a good boy" Yagami is not gonna deviate from those 'rules'.
