Celebrating a birthday as an idol is tiring. Jaemin has done it several times in the past few years. Birthday lives, birthday fanmeets—with other members—amongst other celebrations in which he could include his fans and his members. He always spent the night before his birthday with his family—whether it was over the phone or in person, they were his priority as all he wanted to do was give back to everyone he received love from. The day of, he loved interacting with his fans for an hour or two, basking in the birthday wishes and taking a few bites of the last minute cake the company got him. After is usually when he would be taken out by his members—birthdays were the rare occasions where almost all twenty of them could gather around and spend time.

The day after was all for him. Opening gifts he didn’t get a good look at the night before. Keeping every card he was given along with sending thank you texts to everyone he could think of.

However—after meeting you he’s been thinking about changing his routine in order to incorporate you. There was no better person for him to want to spend time with during his birthday. He rubbed at his eyes as he thought, fingers reaching up to rub the wrinkles that formed on his forehead as he weighed his options.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” You can’t quite read him—the long lashes touching the top of his cheeks when he managed to blink. His unwavering gaze fixes on you instead of the plain wall—eyebrows furrowing to show he was still deep in thought—your words muffled in his ears. “Jaem?”

“I think I’m going to skip on the birthday live this year.” His tone is definitive, you know he’s already made up his mind even as you gesture for him to continue. He pats the cushion next to him, inviting you over from where you stood. When he finally gets you next to him he can’t help but latch onto your arm—leaning his entire body weight on your side. “I can distract them with pictures of my chest,” he backtracks quickly when he catches your eyes—jealousy evident in them. “Not funny, got it. I can post unseen baby pictures and me in my rookie years as a gift. I want to spend my actual birthday with… you.” You’re used to Jaemin’s theatrics. But he’s being genuine here. His pause being out of nerves more than anything. “I’ll do my usual ritual but I can squeeze in my family and my members in one day—or they can wait until the day after.”

“Jaemin.” You offer a quick kiss, the perfect distraction to stop him from rambling. He’s stunned—shiny lips frozen mid-sentence. “No one’s going to be mad at how you choose to spend your birthday—it’s your day. I’d be honored to spend it with you no matter how you choose to celebrate, okay?”

The day of you make sure to wake up earlier than Jaemin—climbing out of his bed as quietly as you could. Making sure to cover him with the blanket before leaving the door half open. Staying with Jaemin had its perks.

His entire apartment was very open—meaning you could still keep an eye on the tv show you were watching while cooking breakfast for Jaemin. It was nothing too extravagant—using pancake mix for mini pancakes and air frying just enough pieces of bacon for you and Jaemin to share. You take your time in plating the food, cutting up some peaches you picked up just for him and placing them in a small bowl. With a quick picture you pick up the tray, balancing it with both hands as you tiptoed towards his room.

You could see his shadow stretch on the bed frame, his bare arms bulging even when relaxed.

“Happy birthday, baby.” You almost missed his startled expression—not expecting any noise to come from the room as he woke up to it empty. You place the tray on top of him, handing him his shiny utensils when he sits up to take in the food. He’s speechless. His eyes saying everything he couldn’t as they tear up at the inner corners. “I have a few options for you to choose between, okay? We could either stay home and do whatever you want—”

“I want that one.”

“I haven’t even finished yet.” You receive an eye roll from Jaemin, one hand picking his food up and the other holding Luna—who had jumped up into the bed at the smell of his food.

“I did a live when you went to bed. Stayed up a little while to talk to fans and play with the cats, I hope I didn’t wake you.” You shook your head, climbing back into the bed to take Luna from him, holding her in the air with her legs out. “I do want to stay home, (Y/n). Spend the day with you in fluffy pajamas and watch my favorite movies. That’s the ideal birthday. I don’t need to hear any other options.” Jaemin takes a last bite of the bacon before placing the tray on his nightstand. He dusts his hands off away from the bed before pulling you in to the covers with him. “We can even sleep in a little longer, don’t you think?”

You can feel his heartbeat through his shirt as he pulls you in to lay on his chest. Luna is still in between the two of you, laying down on her back as she pokes her head out in the only gap where you and Jaemin aren’t touching.

“Okay but I’m still planning on baking you a birthday cake later, so we can’t sleep for too long.” You manage to raise your head up, grabbing Jaemin’s face with your free hand so he would look down at you. You see his shiny lips part, his eyes half closed when he stares down at you. “Happy birthday Jaem.”

POOKIW U SHOULDVE DONE MOREEEEE ILY 💖 🫣- Millie’s biggest regret would be not stopping Sebastian from killing Solomon.. even though it’s 100% Sebastian’s fault, she still can’t believe that she sat there and watched a man die… she’d definitely have nightmares and be haunted for it for years to come, but she’d never tell Sebastian for fear of trudging up past trauma.

🏆- Millie’s biggest goal is to harness her ancient magic and help people with it… not in Isabella’s way, but in Perceval’s way. She wants to help make the world a better place, and would definitely be like an old timey foster mom when she’s older to help give kids like her a stable parent figure who gives them the love and care they deserve.

🧑‍💼- Millie would definitely be an auror when she grows up, her and Sebastian would probably end up working a lot of cases together. She loves adventure and is quite the duelist, it would be a shame for her to let her talents go to waste. She’s also been in danger like, her whole life, so she’d pick something familiar, not something safe lmao.
