"really?" you replied, your voice in the same volume as hers was. ellie nodded, her eyes never leaving your face. "there's just something about you." she continued, feeling like an absolute cheeseball, but with you, she didn't care. "maybe we were just meant to be." you smile.

ellie scoffed, looking away from you for a second, looking at the ceiling. "that's so corny." she laughs, now looking back at you with a small grin. "how am i the corny one?" you laugh along with her. it's serene for a moment, pure bliss for just a second. you couldn't love ellie any more if you tried. "cause i said so." ellie spoke softly. "but maybe you're right. maybe there was some, fuckin'... i don't know, an invisible string that pulled me to you." ellie lifted her hand to brush some stray hair out of your face.

"you're such a dope, you know that?" you teased but your heart sped up, feeling butterflies in your stomach from her romantic words. she laughed at your reaction, looking at the ceiling again. there was a breeze throughout the room, a window being left open to invite in the warm summer air. the smell of grass filled the room, mixed with some type of floral scent that neither of you could place.

"i'm the biggest dope for you." she smiled up at the ceiling. you watched her, your eyes running all over her body. you didn't believe in this so-called invisible string, fate, destiny, or anything. but you believed in ellie, and it was such a pretty thing to think that all along there was something tying you two together.

ellie had her sleeve rolled up and wiped her brow with her arm as she finished preparing dinner for you. in the distance, ellie heard a car pull up right outside your guys' house, the stop of the engine, and the door of the car opening and shutting. ellie brought the pot on the stove to a lower heat to avoid burning down the house as she went up to greet you. she was decorated in an apron, top, and her usual skinny jeans. she walked, with anticipation, to the entrance of your guys' house. the key turned in it's knob and in you walked, tired and drained from your day full of work.

"hey babe," ellie's voice pouring out ease and immediately calming your stress and nerves. you muttered out a response, sleep heavy in your voice. ellie took your jacket off, massaging your sore back muscles for a slight second, and hung it on the rack. she grabbed your hand and pulled you into the kitchen. the two of you sat down and enjoyed the dinner she had crafted for the two of you, exchanging a few kisses and hugs while you both went up for seconds. the night was slow and romantic, simple tunes played from you record player as the two of you snuggled up on the couch and breathed the day away. you had missed ellie. and, ellie had missed you. a little too much. you were comfortably laying on the couch, arms wrapped each other, when all of a sudden you felt the dust of ellie's lips on you neck. you paid no attention to it, she was probably just trying to find a more comfortable position. then, a few minutes, later, it happened again. her lips gazed your neck, placing kisses along your jawline down to your collar bones.

"ellie..." you pleaded.

"cmon honey," ellie said, looking up into your eyes, "lets get to bed," she smirked and pulled you into your bedroom, a look of mischief and intent in her eyes, "i want to help you relax."
