also! at first I wanted to just swap the heights but i've decided on Lance being 170cm (5'6) and Fernando being 186cm (6'1)

the average height for a Frenchman in the 18th century was 168cm (5'5) but i could NAWT make Lance that small (idk why it seems sm shorter) (as if i'm not 154 cm)

For some reason, my brain immediatly went "the French magnus archives" and it would be like uh... cent et quarante-huit (?). I don't know why I wanted to translate it? Y'all should watch 7de Laan, it's really fun. Idk what button they've discovered now, but I remember back when Mariaan killed... Ben I want to say, and they discovered the voice over button. God, I hate how he turns it around, just manages to scrape himself an edge, prick. Like even in episode 200 (my beloved) he tries to get Jon to back down. It doesn't work, of course, but like, there was an attempt, there's always an attempt, I hate how he takes things in stride and always manages to come out on top, I hate that so much. Really hateable villain, he deserves to be drowned in a bucket /ref.

ARCHIVIST Can’t believe you’ve been seeing him all this time. BASIRA Oh yeah, that’s the terrible secret sabotaging the trust between us.

Look I was trying to find my original reaction to this, but I didn't talk about it to my partner (ily) or on my story (I believe the next one we're really digging into there is 154, because I was in fucking shambles), but I mean, I don't know exactly what I was feeling but it was probably like... shit.

Shit.

Like, I get Basira's perspective, right, but also you can't just. That's hardly proportionate and yet... isn't it? Gertrude would have done it, Adelard Dekkar would have done it, and when they do that sort of thing to monsters we hardly bat an eye, but... well, it's different, right, we know Jon.

It's like that post, about how the "monsters" were treated differently across the seasons, in season 1, Jane Prentiss is the entity formerly known as Jane Prentiss, in season 2... can't really remember, I mean they were seen as more... sentient, but still evil to their very nature. In season 3 we get a separation, Jon isn't like the other monsters, Mike Crew and Jude Perry were bad people, even though they were people. And then in season 4... well, come Scrutiny, we've realized that oh fuck, there is no separation, and we can view all the monsters as irredeemable and bad but... Jon's not irredeemable, he tries. So, what about all those other monsters. And in 152 we get it, how different is Jon from Jane Prentiss? Not really different at all. The season 5 comes along and none of the characters we're following are on the watched/human/victim side of the line, and the line wasn't really real back then.

I had a little conversation with Japleeejay a while back so I'm just gonna put that here, inc his reactions in brackets because they're funny.

Also, I'm thinking about jon tma (🤯) And yk about my interpretation of his character which is the only correct one /hj (💙) And about how it's like his self esteem is shit, but that's when he's alone right? He's going to stand up for himself when other people are talking shit about him, but he's also going to internalize it and ruminate on it when he's alone? (‼️) Like uhh. He's obviously really guilty about what he's doing to his victims, but when they confront him about it, and in MAG 141 and MAG 148, he's defensive about it It's like it's not a binary thing right And if I may just like bring myself into it for a second because half of my jon thoughts are actual analysis and the other half is projection But like uhh the whole thing i had going on with the adhd, like I was fiercely proud of being adhd, and like i'd get angry at people for being ableist and stuff, but i also sort of... believed them? it's like, you can have contradictory feelings and emotions (‼️) And it's like it's different if you're saying it to yourself and someone [is] saying it to you? Like at least my immediate reaction to someone getting angry at me whether justified or not is to get angry back, and then yk i calm down and either don't think they're right or do, right? And it's like, Jon gets angry when people get angry at him, he gets defensive, and then he dwells on it a lot, right? Basicallly Um - Fanfic authors are doing it wrong i'm the only one doing it right - he's not. he's not like. yeah sometimes sure he's like that. he'll take it lying down sometimes - ^ especially when helen's saying something to him because she knows how to get under their skin - but like it's not a constant thing - hhhh idk how to describe it (💙)

tbh i dont think i really paid attention much on my first listen but just like-

Cos I saw some of the pages over his shoulder, and on one of them, there was … There was a picture of me, like a black and white photo of my face.

OH SPOOKY!

It was one of the old CRT sets, big and bulky, and the picture on it was never that clear, but for a moment, it looked like it was me on there, staring right back at myself as the screens slowly went black, getting closer and closer. The face on the monitor looked absolutely terrified, and I was starting to feel it myself. So, I just tried to smile, told him not to worry about it, and I headed out as quick as I could. My legs were shaking so hard I almost fell on the way out.

Don't know what to say just... spooky.

One time, when no-one in the store was looking, I threw a can of deodorant at one of them, hit it square on. Samson wore sunglasses for the next two days, and when I caught a glimpse of him without them, there was a crack, right down the centre of his eye.

Ohhh that's such a cool image also so spooky!!

I wanted to know why Samson hadn’t signed out of the building before he disappeared, why no matter who tried to reset the system, it always logged back in as him. Or why, whenever I was watching the monitors alone, I’d see him on that old CRT screen, staring right back at me, quietly calling for me to join him.

Does reading a statement of the Ceaseless Watcher count as a sort of auto-cannibalism, I wonder?

He's started calling in the Ceaseless Watcher, not The Eye anymore.

Hmm. Feels more... reverential? In a way? I dunno. Need to compile a list of what people call the fears. I know Jon used to call it The Eye or The Beholding, I thought he switched to calling it the Ceaseless Watcher in season 4, but apparently not.

I honestly don’t care if Mr Maraj was chased down and consumed by his voyeuristic former friend, or if he has forgotten the whole affair, living in blissful ignorance. I just find my mind already wandering to the next statement, and the hopes that it won’t be quite as stale.

Is that a turning point? It feels like a turning point, but then again it just feels like he's already crossed that line, and there was no turning point, just an unstoppable march forwards.

Hm.

Belediyemiz adına kayıtlı 93,00 m²'lik hissenin, 3194 sayılı kanunun 17. Maddesince satılması hususunda; 5393 sayılı Belediye yasasının 18. maddesinin (e) bendi gereğince bir karar alınması istemine dair önerge. 2- İzmir İli, Buca İlçesi, Kocatepe Mahallesi, 560 ada 226 parsel nolu 307,90m² yüzölçümlü taşınmazın, 379/3079(37,90)m²'si Belediyemiz adına kayıtlıdır. Söz konusu talebin açıklığa kavuşturulması amacı ile değerlendirilerek bir karar verilmesi istemine dair önerge. 15- Buca ilçesi Tınaztepe Mahallesi 7105 ada, 2 parselin güneyinde yer alan “Park Alanı” kullanım kararında kalan alana 6.70m X 6.00 X 6.5m X 5.60m ebatlarında ve 7109 ada, 3 parselin güneyinde yer alan “Park Alanı” kullanım kararında kalan alana 6.40m X 6.00m X 6.30m X 5.80m ebatlarında trafo alanı ayrılmasına ilişkin 1/1000 ölçekli Uygulama İmar Planı Tadilatı önerisi sunulmuştur. ZABORAVITE NA SJEDILAČKI NAČIN ŽIVOTA: Kretanje je presudno kako ne bi došlo do teških oblika bolesti

Bole vas leđa, ramena i ne znate kako ćete se ponovno vratiti u “ravnotežu” i u formu? Doktori opće prakse govore vam da trebate ići specijalistu, a on vam pak kaže da trebate ići na terapiju. Krenete na terapiju, odradite sve kako vam je rečeno i vratite se u život osvježeni i puni elana i energije. Da, to bi bilo lijepo kada bi bilo istinito, ali, nažalost, još nije tako u našoj zemlji. Mi se još borimo s administracijom, zastarjelim zakonima koji većini ne donosi ništa, a manjini sve. I dok čekamo da se nešto promijeni, prolazi nam život. Razbolijevamo se, tražimo da nam se pomogne jer za to izdvajamo kada radimo, ali ni od toga nema velike koristi. Jedan od problema na tom tragu istaknut je na nedavno održanom okruglom stolu na temu “Fizikalna terapija u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti”. Na okruglom stolu sudjelovali su predsjednica Europe Region World Physiotherapy Esther-Mary D’Arcy, glavni tajnik Europe Region World Physiotherapy Aitor Carpio García, dopredsjednik Društva fizioterapeuta Slovenije Janez Špoljar, predsjednica Sekcije fizioterapeuta u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti Slovenije Petra Žagar te predsjednica HKF-a Mirjana Grubišić. Esther-Mary D’Arcy predstavila je različite modele fizikalne terapije na primarnoj razini u javnom zdravstvu na razini EU-a, od modela koji uključuje fizioterapeuta, logopeda, socijalnog radnika, medicinsku sestru do modela u kojem fizioterapeuti savjetuju i educiraju radnike na radnome mjestu kako da preveniraju koštano-mišićne probleme do konzultativnog modela, u kojem fizioterapeuti online ili putem telefona daju konzultacije za pomoć pacijentima iz svog djelokruga rada, te uštede i isplativost koju donosi inkorporacija fizioterapije na primarnoj razini.

Slovenski model

Aitor Carpio García govorio je o ulozi naše europske organizacije na razini EU-a i suradnji s Europskom komisijom, a posebno je istaknuo ulogu fizioterapeuta u EU-u u prevenciji mišićno-koštanih poremećaja povezanih s radom, gdje je Europska regija World hysiotherapy službeni stručni partner s European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) u kampanji za prevenciju mišićno-koštanih poremećaja na radnome mjestu. Stručnjaci iz Slovenije zorno su prikazali model fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti u javnome zdravstvu Slovenije koja je organizirana dijelom kroz jedinice fizikalne terapije na razini domova zdravlja, a dijelom kroz privatne prakse fizikalne terapije čiji su fizioterapeuti vlasnici. Jedinice fizikalne terapije samostalne su jedinice u kojima su zaposleni isključivo fizioterapeuti koji upravljaju procesom fizikalne terapije. Uputu za fizikalnu terapiju u najvećem broju slučajeva daje liječnik obiteljske medicine, a može i bilo koji liječnik specijalist, uključujući i ginekologa koji također s nalogom mogu izravno uputiti fizioterapeutu. U Sloveniji su ugovorena 154 pružatelja ambulantnih fizioterapeutskih timova u kojima je zaposleno 576 fizioterapeuta. Zavod za zdravstveno osiguranje Slovenije koji je pandan našem HZZO-u odobrio je četiri vrste terapijskih tretmana, i to mali koji traje 30 minuta, šest dolazaka na terapiju, zatim srednji koji traje 45 minuta, s osam dolazaka na terapiju, veliki s trajanjem od 60 minuta i osam dolazaka na terapiju te poseban specijalni tretman koji traje 60 minuta i ima 10 dolazaka na terapiju. Liječnik određuje vrstu tretmana, a fizioterapeut sam izrađuje plan i program fizioterapije. Iznimno liječnik može odrediti pojedini postupak unutar tog tretmana, ali to se rijetko događa. Dužnost fizioterapeuta je da mora dostaviti uputnom liječniku, a posebno Zavodu za zdravstveno osiguranje Slovenije, izvještaj o pacijentu što je fizioterapeut utvrdio pregledom pacijenta, njegovo početno stanje, program terapije, evaluaciju pacijenta te završno stanje pacijenta. Ovaj izvještaj se dostavlja uputnom liječniku pri otpustu pacijenta s fizikalne terapije i zdravstvenom osiguranju prilikom dostave doznake za isplatu obavljenog rada i bez istog izvještaja osiguranje neće isplatiti troškove fizioterapije.

Kako je u Hrvatskoj?

Potkraj 2014. godine ukinuta je uputnica za fizikalnu terapiju. Upućivanje na fizikalnu terapiju ide isključivo na sekundarnu razinu preko D-1 uputnice specijalistu fizikalne i rehabilitacijske medicine, a koji naknadno internim nalogom prosljeđuje u svojoj ustanovi fizioterapeutu na fizikalnu terapiju, tako da pacijent prvo prođe listu čekanja kod fizijatra, a poslije listu čekanja kod fizioterapeuta. Ako je duga lista čekanja kod fizioterapeuta u toj ustanovi, pacijent koji je pregledan od fizijatra ne može tražiti negdje dostupniju fizikalnu terapiju s manje čekanja u drugoj ustanovi jer ne postoji uputnica za fizikalnu terapiju, a ako se javi u drugu ustanovu s pregledom od tog fizijatra, oni ne priznaju nalaz tog specijalista, nego mora ponovno proći pregled fizijatra. To znači novo čekanje na listi da bi došao na fizikalnu terapiju u toj drugoj ustanovi. Ne postoji utvrđena mreža fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti, nego isključivo u sekundarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti, gdje je jako dug put pacijenta do fizioterapeuta, odnosno nije dopušteno da obiteljski liječnik može uputiti pacijenta izravno fizioterapeutu niti to pravo ima bilo koji drugi liječnik specijalist, nego je to pravo HZZO dao isključivo samo liječnicima fizikalne i rehabilitacijske medicine, a za to nema nikakve znanstvene osnove. Mrežu fizikalne terapije objasnila je Mirjana Grubišić. “Mreža fizikalne terapije na primarnoj zdravstvenoj razini je utvrđenje potrebnog broja fizioterapeuta na teritoriju Hrvatske i raspored istih u odnosu na broj stanovnika na određenom području po županijama, a koji bi pružali fizikalnu terapiju na primarnoj razini. Mrežu fizikalne terapije donosi ministar zdravstva. Ona bi se organizirala na razini domova zdravlja koji bi trebali imati ustrojstvenu jedinicu fizikalne terapije koja ima rješenje od ministra zdravstva za obavljanje iste djelatnosti”, rekla je.

Preventivna terapija

Liječnik bilo koje specijalnosti koji liječi svog pacijenta, a koji u tijeku liječenja pacijenta utvrdi da bi mu u liječenju primarne dijagnoze pomogla fizikalna terapija uputio bi svog pacijenta na fizikalnu terapiju. Zanimalo nas je koji su razlozi zbog kojih Hrvatska još nema organiziranu fizikalnu terapiju na primarnoj zdravstvenoj razini. Mirjana Grubišić je rekla kako je “ovdje riječ ponajprije o nerazumijevanju zdravstvene administracije kolika je isplativost i cost benefit fizioterapije u sustavu zdravstva”. O preventivnoj fizikalnoj terapiji rekla je kako je to “zdravstvena usluga koja se nudi pacijentima/klijentima kao način prevencije ozljeda i bolesti”. “Ova vrsta zdravstvene usluge djeluje tako da jača tijelo, poboljšava pokretljivost i identificira potencijalna problematična područja prije nego što nastanu glavni problemi. Fizioterapeuti igraju jedinstvenu ulogu u društvu u prevenciji, wellnessu, fitnessu, promicanju zdravlja i upravljanju bolestima i invaliditetom služeći kao dinamički most između zdravlja i pružanja zdravstvenih usluga pojedincima i stanovništvu. To znači da, iako su fizioterapeuti stručnjaci za rehabilitaciju i habilitaciju, oni također imaju stručnost i priliku pomoći pojedincima i populaciji da poboljšaju cjelokupno zdravlje i izbjegnu zdravstvena stanja koja se mogu spriječiti”, rekla je Grubišić. Dodala je kako je preventivna fizikalna terapija posebno korisna za pojedince koji inače vode sjedilački način života, primjerice rade uredski posao, i žele izbjeći ozljede tijekom periodične i intenzivne tjelesne aktivnosti. Preventivna fizikalna terapija također može pomoći pojedincima da uživaju u boljem dugoročnom zdravlju sprečavanjem određenih kroničnih zdravstvenih problema. Tako, primjerice, vješt fizioterapeut može preporučiti vježbe osmišljene za jačanje kostiju i sprečavanje osteoporoze u zdravom starenju. Ciljane vježbe prilagođene potrebama osobe mogu pridonijeti prevenciji pretilosti. Fizioterapija koja se bavi problemima ravnoteže može smanjiti rizik od pada, osobito kod starijih osoba.

Bolni sindromi

“U današnje vrijeme, kada raste broj oboljelih od srčanih bolesti kao posljedica sedentarnog načina života, kardiorespiratorni trening igra veliku ulogu u prevenciji. Kad srce i pluća učinkovitije funkcioniraju, ljudsko tijelo može izdržati veću razinu stresa te znatno smanjiti rizik od nekih kroničnih bolesti. Sve je veća uloga fizioterapeuta u zaštiti zdravlja na radu, i to kod svakodnevnih ponavljanja istih radnji, podizanja i prenošenja tereta, kod kojih ponavljanje istih pokreta i nepravilno podizanje tereta dovodi do umora i radnog opterećenja općenito te različitih bolnih sindroma poput sindroma karpalnog tunela, sindroma bolnog ramena, sindroma bolnih leđa”, istaknula je Grubišić. O tome kako zamišlja organizaciju fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti te može li se u Hrvatskoj preslikati slovenski model ili bismo ipak trebali napraviti neki svoj, rekla je kako “smatraju da ne treba izmišljati toplu vodu, a slovenski model je dokazano dobar i sasvim je dovoljno da preslikamo slovenski model fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti”. Nažalost, u Hrvatskoj ne postoje statistički podaci o fizikalnoj terapiji i kako ističe Mirjana Grubišić, to je presedan jer sve zemlje EU-a vode te statistike. “Kod nas se vodi samo statistika za fizikalnu medicinu i rehabilitaciju”, naglasila je. “Ako se neke bolesti ne liječe vezano uz pokretljivost i funkcionalnost osobe, to posljedično dovodi do veće onesposobljenosti, što uzrokuje smanjen kapacitet kretanja/aktivnosti, a sam manjak kretanja/aktivnosti, dokazano je na svjetskoj razini, potiče razvoj dijabetesa, pretilosti, kardiorespiratornih bolesti, raka grlića maternice, raka pluća, raka debelog crijeva, visokog krvnog tlaka i sl. Nemamo podatke koliko je osoba trajno ili djelomično onesposobljeno za rad”, rekla je Grubišić.

Odluka ministra

Napomenula je da fizikalna terapija na razini primarne zdravstvene zaštite u zemljama članicama EU-a spada u osnovni paket standarda primarne zdravstvene zaštite te da su brojna istraživanja identificirala mnoge prednosti uključivanja fizioterapeuta u primarnu zdravstvenu zaštitu, uključujući i poboljšano upravljanje kroničnim bolestima, manje neprikladnih upućivanja specijalistima, smanjenje nepotrebnih dijagnostičkih pretraga, povećano zadovoljstvo pacijenata, isplativost i povećanu kvaliteta života pacijenata, smanjenje stope komorbiditeta, smanjenje stope bolovanja i općenito smanjenje financijskog tereta liječenja akutnih i kroničnih bolesti.

Što bi se trebalo promijeniti?

Trebalo bi donijeti mrežu fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti, utvrditi jedinice pružatelja fizikalne terapije u mreži, a svaki liječnik specijalist bilo koje specijalnosti koji liječi svog pacijenta iz primarne dijagnoze po MKB-u, ako utvrdi da je njegovu pacijentu smanjena funkcionalnost u nekom segmentu i/ili se radi o koštano-mišićnom problemu, trebao bi imati pravo uputiti na fizikalnu terapiju direktno fizioterapeutu, a ponajprije obiteljski liječnik. U Hrvatskoj komori fizioterapeuta smatraju i da hrvatski pacijenti imaju pravo na dostupnost fizikalne terapije u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti i da im se pruži fizioterapijska usluga u skladu s pravilima struke i posljednjim znanstvenim dostignućima te je nužno da ministar zdravstva donese mrežu fizikalne terapije kako bi se fizioterapijska usluga mogla dobiti i u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti.

‘Tomu ćemo posvetiti posebnu pozornost, ali iduće godine’

Ministarstvo zdravstva najavljuje da će sljedeće godine posvetiti posebnu pozornost izradi javnozdravstvene mreže u koju će biti uključeno ugovaranje brže i dostupnije fizikalne terapije, radi smanjenja dugih lista čekanja, a svoje mjesto u mreži imat će i fizijatri i fizioterapeuti. To je odgovor iz Ministarstva zdravstva na zahtjeve Hrvatske komore fizioterapeuta koja traži da pacijenta na fizikalnu terapiju naručuje izravno liječnik obiteljske medicine, odnosno da se poveća dostupnost i skrate liste čekanja tako da se iz naručivanja na tu terapiju izostavi bolnički fizijatar.

Fizioterapeut je glavni stručnjak koji priprema tijelo

Jedan od centara za fizikalnu terapiju, rehabilitaciju i edukaciju u kojem se mogu smanjiti fizikalne tegobe je Fizio Vita iz Zadra. Vlasnica Anita Mišković objasnila je kako mnogi pacijenti redovito idu na fizikalnu terapiju, ponekad i jedanput tjedno, kako bi uživali u poboljšanom držanju tijela i pokretljivosti te kako bi spriječili ozljede uzrokovane rigoroznijim fizičkim aktivnostima. Osvrnula se i na najčešće razloge zbog kojih netko odlazi fizioterapeutu. Anita Mišković je rekla da su najčešće to razlozi loših životnih navika, odnosno sjedilačkog načina života kao što su problemi koštano-mišićnog sustava, kronične bolesti lokomotornog sustava – osteoartritis i druge reumatske bolesti, ozljede kao što su uganuće zgloba i sl., nakon prijeloma kosti, te nakon operativnih zahvata. "How long until you stop pretending that everything that has happened to you in the past has been resolved? Walking away from a problem doesn't fix anything. They'll either stay in the same place or they'll follow you, but they won't disappear."

These words from the latest chapter is like a smack in the face. This certainly pushed me to re-read earlier episodes with new context. It makes me reconsider a lot of Nol's behavior, like, maybe Nol's guilt towards Shinae has started long before the formal. What I mean is, the party incident might be the last nail in the coffin, but Nol's low self-worth for her might have started long before that. And as usual, his feeling for Shinae always connects with Kousuke. This is what I mean when I said I couldn't separate Nol, Shinae, and Kousuke before, so I guess I'll just go with it.

⚠️This is not a meta. I'm just dumping my interpretation of the episodes that catches me. I might as well call it "Nolan's POV" since I couldn't get better words to call this post.

1. Episode 22-23

This is probably the start of it all. Nol wanted to escape the school life full of fake people, but he ended up troubling his friends. Nol only taunted Shinae so he could've had fun with her, but she passed out as the result. He knew she was pushing herself, he never thought she would push this hard just to get the food he jokingly bet on. Was his quick reaction really just his nature to be quick on his feet, or did he get reminded of his traumatic past? It's convenient we couldn't see Nol's perspective after Shinae fell, even though Quim already elaborated Nol's observation and his fast response to the fall. Nol's feeling is very telling in the next episode though; he feels so bad, he sacrificed his freedom just so Kousuke could get her some food. He also genuinely thanked him for it. At first I was as confused as Kousuke were (Nol's at disadvantage here, why is he thanking him?), but now, I just realized how much Nol is feeling guilty for her.

2. Episode 25-33

Last night still affected Nol: Even though he's uncomfortable to be alone with Kousuke, he didn't ask Shinae to accompany him anymore, unlike last time. He didn't want to bother her; hence the hostility he showed Kousuke when he asked her to join them (maybe I should return to this later, it's probably way more than that since he distrusts Kou so much). But the way Shinae lighten up the situation, even with Kousuke around, gave him a little hope that maybe, working with the Hirahara won't be so bad anymore if he's with her.

On the other hand, Kousuke is being oddly nice. He returned him to his nana's house, agreed to not immediately jumped on to Yui's health facility, agreed to eat a burger with hands despite his extreme discomfort, and took the trouble to buy him food personally. Kousuke has been trying to treat him nicer, so those little actions gave him a little hope that maybe, Kousuke has changed. Shinae's application resonated with his feeling and motivated him to make his family accepted him once more. He has been avoiding any Hirahara affairs due to his trauma but this time, maybe he'd like to give it a shot.

Shinae has accepted his friendship offer. She is going to work with him, which means he can breathe a little easier. Kousuke also treated him differently than all those years. If he keeps being useful to the family, maybe things will finally change right?

3. Episode 43-45

This is probably where Nol realized Shinae is desperate for money. She already told her condition in the burger place, she tutored his friends, she asked him about Yui, she applied at his company, and now already worked at Wac even before she heard the news. (Remember, he has good memory). He tried to help his friend who's struggling to keep her facade, but despite his effort with best intention in mind, Shinae berated him how he makes her uncomfortable when he already has a gf so he should know his place.

First Kousuke is sending him home early again, now Shinae. Nol is probably reminded once again that his sincerity is always misinterpreted by other people. It's like he's unneeded. But still, he knew Shinae has a point. He isn't aware how a man with a girlfriend supposed to act, because he couldn't even reach his "girlfriend." He realized he may be desperate for some sort of connection with someone. He shouldn't be selfish. Shinae's words hurts him so he decided to back off for now.

🚩 : Feeling misunderstood, feeling unneeded.

And then, he checked Shinae's application.

Nol found out Kousuke is using Shinae's application to make him work. He is pissed for trusting Kousuke has changed, yet he felt he should've known better that his friends would dragged to his family's affairs. He's extremely disappointed in Kousuke -though it's not something new, yet, he couldn't blame him after listening to his reason. But still. This is the first time after a while that Nol genuinely wanted to try again with his family. Nol knew Kousuke would never appreciate him no matter what he's doing but, was he wrong for hoping otherwise? Nol is crushed. He failed to win Kousuke's trust despite trying his best, he made Shinae uncomfortable by his friendship, he lead her on with a false hope, only to find out she couldn't get a decent job because of him. Forget about making new connections, people will eventually suffer because of him. It's like the world is telling him "Stop trying." He's exhausted.

🚩: Disappointment, hopelessness, self-blame.

And then, Shinae came, asking him if he's okay.

Her previous words might be the least worry in his mind (because he knew she has a point), yet she still apologized for it. Even though he's the one who constantly forced his way onto her, she said she appreciated him. The fact that she told him what he could improve means she gave him a second chance; she trusted him. This is huge coming from a person who has trust issues, and also huge for the person who's used at being rejected. Nol is conflicted, he didn't know if he should accept her trust when he's the one who make her life more difficult without her knowing it. To him, Shinae is kind; he didn't deserve it. He's glad Shinae didn't cut him off, but at the same time, his guilt prevented him from truly accepting her. He's probably feel bummed too that he couldn't do more for her (this part I think, plays a huge role in episode 93; he learned to be persistent with his ways without making the other party uncomfortable --the taco scene). Shinae's kindness to him despite her own problems (working part-time, problem with her dad) made him determined to be better for her sake.

🚩 : Guilt, facade.

4. Episode 47

Kousuke and Nol's disagreement from the night before didn't stop Nol from trying. He still wanted to work to prove himself. And yet, he was fired without any good reason, without him knowing. Even after he came all the way to continue working, Kousuke still rejected him, so his bitterness towards him hasn't disappeared yet.

🚩 : Desperation.

5. Episode 49-53

That night, Nol had to attend a party he didn't like. His father reprimanded him as usual, and he found out that apparently, he quitted work because of a friend -which is false, but he couldn't find himself to refute. His father didn't let him explain and instead, ordered him to wait for Alyssa --it's as if he's never worth anything more than an idol's boyfriend. He's forced to break his promise to Shinae (keeping her food), even though he's already determined to make her feel better. Kousuke's irritating false concern didn't help. Yui opened his trauma again by touching his face and serving him tea. To make things worse, his supposed-to-be-girlfriend greeted him half-assedly, even though they haven't met for a long time. She has gone completely to the Hirahara's side.

🚩: Abuse, isolation.

6. Episode 55

The night constantly told him to "Give up." He only got Shinae by his side, but he couldn't lean on her. Not only because she already had enough shit to handle, but he also didn't want to drag her to his problem more than he already has. Besides, Shinae has been too good by staying as his friend even though he has been a burden to her (forcing his friendship, not respecting her boundaries, ruining her chance) so he couldn't ask for more.

🚩 : Low self-worth.

Nol tried to be a better friend for Shinae. He tried to make her comfortable with whatever means: respecting her boundary, comforting her with make-up and food, cheering her up during her dance, and giving back her jacket. Seeing her first smile of the night eased his guilt a little bit; maybe feeling a little bittersweet that he can only be useful when he's supporting from the sidelines. Still though, it's not like it makes him feel okay. He tried to be strong, but he couldn't really do it given how shitty he felt because of his family and his girlfriend. His mask cracked. Friendship is supposed to be two-ways right? He needs some sort of consolation that he's not really alone.

He didn't want to lose her. Remember that he's good at tying things up together. The fact that Shinae is here, in Kim's private party, means she got involved with Kousuke or Yui. She stubbornly stayed despite her great discomfort means she owed them something -probably money-related. When he came back, he found her dancing with Kousuke. He just knew his family would target his friend to control him. It's similar with Alyssa's case, how she's swayed by Hirahara's offer and then left his side. In his suffocating life, he's afraid Shinae would do the same. But. Who is he to stop her from doing what she wants? If anything, the Hiraharas probably helped her more than he ever could, just like Alyssa. He should've supported her as her friend. In the end he didn't want to worry her so he stopped.

🚩 : Fear of abandonment.

TLDR; I honestly don't know what to make from this post. I guess I just want to vent what I thought was Nol's pain and how much I'm hurting after re-reading the old episodes with the new perspective. Like, the string of events really leads you to an unavoidable crash in episode 65. The way Shinae is angry for his sake --even though she doesn't have to, even apologizing for snapping even though it's not her fault, is just heartbreaking for him (and me too). It really cemented his believe that he's pathetic (useless), a complete waste of time, and she should find someone better.

Aside from that, episode 23, 44 and 55 blow me away. I never realized how much guilt Nol carry for Shinae, I never thought Nol's disappointment towards Kousuke would be this deep, and I thought Nol was simply jealous of Kousuke when he danced with Shinae, when in fact, he's been sending Shinae SOS the whole time. Quimchee's story-telling ability is just superb.

This is just how I read him now. Maybe there's other interpretation? What do you think?

I love how real Rua & Ruka's bond is shown, they feel like actual twins (outside some missteps), they both feel distinguished from each other by their wants, needs, motivations & I just love that. Love how Rua's brat at first but grows out of it (still having some arrogance into adulthood) and Ruka's the more ""mature"" one. Loved how Ruka seemed to have this supernatural connection with monsters from cards, it was shame it wasn't explored more!

Rally just, she deserved far more screen time than what she had (I know in canon Rally's boy, but they're trans girl to me don't @ me), her first appearance showed her as bit cunning as she stole a part for Yusei's bike & it's clear they have strong sibling bond!
