the best thing about dragon age's canon being so "decide what did and didnt happen" dependent is that you can just ignore veilguard. none of this stupid shit happening is perfectly canon compliant for your world state. if veilguard can just decide what did and didnt happen in a world state so easily its only fair the player can do the same thing. like erm actually i consulted my dragon age keep dot com and none of that shit was in there. so

[spoilers] if your only reason to want to save davrin is because assan/the griffons need him, i need you to actually look at davrin as a character with his own thoughts and feelings for one second and stop using him purely as an accessory for the griffons. he can be so much more than The Bodyguard if you give him the time of day instead of sidelining him

Painted over a screenshot of my Rook so he looks a bit more like I imagine him in my head. I have so much more planned for him and really want to get into drawing him when I get the chance.

Anyway - this is Staas "Rook" Thorne

He's older than most, close to his mid 50s and becoming a Warden later in his life. But, he's been a part of the order for a good decade, after having a really rocky life prior, joining the Wardens as a convicted criminal in hopes to redeem himself.

His facial scar was given to him during a fight with an Emmisary quite soon after his Joining. It blasted off one of his horns and left him blind in one eye. Whilst his horn can grow back, he's decided to keep it short so he can lay on one side.

He romances Emmrich, is a talented rogue, favouring cutlasses and rapiers as his choice of weapon.

I hope one day we get the whole story of Veilguard's development bc there's stuff in the promotion from even 3 years ago that just isn't in the game. DA2's red lyrium idol prominently featured in the announcement trailer? Not in the game. That model of that giant spider with hands? Not in the game. The finished model of that mountain/titan with a face? Not in the game.
