#this fully started out as a crack ship #but inevitably my little brain just kept creating scenarios #sdknfksdjnf #most of the sketches are from an au in which azula chose to go with the gaang after the war instead of with Iroh like zuko wanted her to do #just to be a contrarian #and then somehow she ended up one of the last members travelling with aang full time #and the one in the middle is for an au in which aang lost the war and became a politaical prisoner #that I’ve been writing for three heckin years #but I DO think I’m on the last draft for that one >D #my art #atla #fanart #avatar the last airbender #illustration

medieval fantasy set in a giant crumbling palace of traditions with forgotten origin, ruled by giant eldritch Ladies

when winter weather comes in the middle of summer, and a beast below the palace begins to rise, two teens from Grey who have suddenly gained a lot of responsibilities set out on separate journeys to the other towers to find a way to stop it, and meet all sorts of strange people and creatures along the way

world where pronouns/names are based on people’s roles

tons of cool medieval-style chapter illustrations by the author

#the west passage #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #ooooh this is really interesting!!!#it’s like. you take those weird medieval illustrations and add some eldritch horrors and some alice-in-wonderland weirdness #and turn it into a strange fable-like adventure #it took me a little to get into it - I wasn’t sure about the writing style or characters initially- but it grew on me!#There’s very little detail about the world in the beginning but once I got a bit more into it and was like oh there’s just #weird and quirky little guys scattered all over this.#I was having trouble envisioning things and looked up the author half way through to find his art for it!#(I listened to the audiobook so was unaware there are also illustrations in the book) - that definitely refined my understanding of the vib #I didn’t actually have a look at all the chapter illustrations in the book til after and oh my god - obsessed #There’s so many of them and they’re perfect. I also enjoy the chapter titles.#And I think it’s one of those books that (for me) could teeter on the edge of like or dislike depending on surface level elements #and it went in the right direction 👍#there’s a tiny bit of romance (or: a relationship that has a romantic element) but not very much. and it is queer #also the worldbuilding kinda reminded me of keys to the kingdom (vaguely)#but like if the House was less populated and ur just following a random denizen who knows nothing travelling around. i should reread kttk #I know it means Ladies like Saints. but also every time my mind reads it as *sleasey man voice* ladiesss #oh also moment of appreciation for kuri huang cover art too

i impulse-joined tavern keeper game jam on itch as an artist + writer and there's 5 days left to finish before the deadline 😭💪 i've never worked on a game before so i am very excited to see how this turns out!! (if we manage to finish in time!)

Overall I truly enjoyed this drama and it was beautiful to see their relationship develop. It's been a long time since I saw a character like Hayama who exudes such graceful beauty and elegance in the way he moves, carries himself, caresses Shirasaki, the way he smiles, talks and dresses. There is this melancholic undertone and depth to his character that I adore which is beautifully contrasted with the sharp directness of Shirasaki. So much of the story was conveyed through the visual imagery of scenes, background music and expressions of characters all of which combined to create a beautiful tapestry.

We are so pleased to announce the first annual AgneKari Week, a full seven days dedicated to the adorableness that is Agnea Bristarni/Hikari Ku from Octopath Traveler II. All are welcomed to participate in this event with fanart, fanfiction, poetry, musical compositions, crafts, and any other creative outlet of your choice.

How to participate:

During the week of August 11-17, share your creative works related to Agnea/Hikari! You can participate as little or as much as you would like – no need to come up with something for every day. Check out the prompt list below to inspire you, and help us spread the word by liking, resharing, giving kudos, and commenting on other participants’ work.

We ask that all previews be non-explicit so that we can share freely, but as long as your work is tagged appropriately, there are no rating limits!

I like Agnea and Hikari but want to depict them as friends. Is that okay?

We agree that friendship is a great ship! Feel free to depict them as friends – we just ask that you don’t pair them romantically with anyone else if you tag your work as part of AgneKari week. And please bear in mind that folks may still interpret it as romantic.

Why is the free day called Bewildering Grace?

When I landed in Canada I had the idea to draw a comics-journal to document this new chapter of life.

What I didn't know, was that writing about the present I was mostly processing a very intense past and the deepest reasons that has brought me there.

"My life i̶n̶ before Montréal" is my first Graphic Novel Proposal, and it would like to be a story that speaks to whoever feels trapped in its own life.

The PDF containing 30 pgs, pitch and various studies (EN/FR versions) is ready to be sent to publishers! Fingers crossed!

Quand je suis arrivée au Canada, j'avais l'idée de dessiner un journal en BD pour raconter ce nouveau chapitre de vie. En fait je ne savais pas que lorsque j'écrivais du présent, j'étais surtout en train d'analyser un passe très intense et aussi toutes les raisons qui m'ont porter jusqu'à là.

"Ma vie à(vant) Montréal" est mon premier projet en BD, une histoire qui parle à quiconque se sent piégé dans sa propre vie.
