Pride Petty Watch (The Untamed) 1/?
I let the crowd pick which two blacklisted shows I would watch from my Petty List, so I flew through the first one knowing I had this 50-episode beast waiting for me. People have warned me that the first two episodes wouldn't make sense, there are a ton of characters to keep track of, I need to watch it at normal speed, and I need to keep the sound on. Therefore, I was already mad before I hit play, yet somehow I started the first episode, blacked out, and emerged five episodes later.
Tumblr media
Which means I like it so far, and here's some quick reasons why:
Before I start, these two better be an item because they are my favorite BTS song aka "🔥" and since I haven't seen them in the present yet, I'm fearing something happened to them in that great battle in the past, and if so, I'M GOING TO BE BE LIVID! I've had them for three whole minutes, and they are everything to me, so I feel this story is going to fuck me over.
Tumblr media
Everyone is chasing after this golden black snitch, yet nobody is catching it, so although there is a lot of death happening, I'm laughing.
Tumblr media
If you squint, My Stand-In and The Untamed are the same. Boys who fell off a cliff come back in another body only to live the same life with the same people and make the same bad decisions. Cool cool cool.
Tumblr media
This current lecturer is stating nobody could find the body but he fell into fire/lava, so what body were they thinking they would find?! Also, don't think I didn't catch homeboy getting in trouble in the past for asking in class what happens when a spirit demands revenge and the instructor got upset because look where we are now! Possession of a body for the sake of revenge. Should've entertained the question, professor, because sixteen years later, it will come back to haunt you, literally.
Tumblr media
And homeboy applied his own theory of making the possessed bodies work for him to fight the other body. He is a smart cookie, and that's why the original Moo Moo person gave his body up to him.
Tumblr media
@dribs-and-drabbles, if this is why you told me I needed the sound on, I'm confident I'm not going to remember this melody. And how is he playing a leaf right now?
Tumblr media
I can't take this seriously. This feels like an 80s music video, and he is about to hit me with the hottest synthesizer intro.
Tumblr media
And the sword has the golden black snitch in it. *Pikachu face*
Tumblr media
I can't play an instrument but for a DIY flute made out of bamboo on the spot, I thought his playing was excellent. For people being saved from being squashed, they are some haters, and I would have stopped playing just so they could suffer.
Tumblr media
I picked up that sister is dead in the future, but her kid is a brat, and I would've been mean to him too.
Tumblr media
And did the brother really kill him in that battle on the hill because when the entire crowd was like "you killed him, right?", he was looking like . . .
Tumblr media
So this is the brat's daddy? It would make sense that a man who shut down an entire hotel for his party would have a son who sets 400 traps so nobody else can catch anything. The privilege is genetic.
Tumblr media
I like him AND I respect him. He has priorities and they are to drink and party because even when he came back in that other body, he snatched the liquor. As the opening showed, he's here for a good time, not a long time.
Tumblr media
I don't like Fuddy Duddy. He can remember 3,500 rules (this place is where fun goes to die), but couldn't remember to tell my party bro that his sister and brother were inside? Everybody just left homeboy without a note saying where they are, and Fuddy Duddy had the information, yet was too busy lecturing about rules. AND committed the ultimate party foul and wasted the liquor. Make that the 3,501th rule! He's lucky he can lay the synthesizer so well.
Tumblr media
This is where the big battle is/was (Nightvale, Nightshade, NightWhatever), and I hope this man died in it because he is doing TOO MUCH! "I don't fear death; I fear boredom" YOU'RE boring! Shut up and go collect the pieces of that dumb rock, Thanos Jr., so we can get this battle going.
Tumblr media
HE BROUGHT A BIRD INTO CLASS! This is the everyday American high school class.
Tumblr media
Why is everyone in the Fire Nation so pissed? Is it because it's hot there? All of y'all are doing too much except for that sister and her brother. I know that brother was the zombie guy from the statue fight, so that means the main homeboy was talking to Fire Nation sister at the graves. That was her family's grave, and she must be a good person, who is probably dead now too.
Tumblr media
So they can all play magical instruments? They're like Josie and the Pussycats, playing gigs between fighting crime.
Tumblr media
The brat's dad is gold, the Cloud Recesses (what is this name about because they should be a lot more fun with a name like that?) are white and blue, and the Fire Nation is red, so it's odd that homeboy had the dark blue robes with red underneath before coming to school, and keeps getting really friendly with the fire people. Plus the cloud people's power is blue, but his comes out in bursts of red. Is his daddy really Fire Nation? Get Maury on the line.
Tumblr media
So his bird buddy gave him porn, which he gave to Fuddy Duddy, who then ripped it up. No wonder why he is so good at school and remembers 3,500 rules. Got nothing but time on his hands since he isn't using his hands doing anything else by being so repressed.
Tumblr media
Fuddy Duddy just said he doesn't touch people, yet in the very beginning he snatched homeboy's hand without hesitation, so he wouldn't fall to his death. Then, he snatched that premium liquor for him. I see you and your heart on your sleeve, my man! Just like this water demon, the feelings are sneaking up on you and snatching you up!
Tumblr media
Should've bought her the comb, bro, because she's going to be dead after that big battle since she was sent to snoop for the Fire Nation. Even though she is trying to help her brother, I feel this will be y'alls Romeo and Juliet moment.
Tumblr media
So the brother was always going to come back from the dead since he already was cursed(?), and my homeboy is once again proving to be a friend to all. I like you, and I will learn your name, hopefully by episode 28.
Tumblr media
Only three marks healed in the present, so whoever is the last mark has to be one of these hoochies, and the more backstory I get, the more I think it's going to hurt when I find out who the last mark is.
Tumblr media
Half these people have already died leading up to that big battle and the other half will die as homeboy sets out on his Kill Bill journey, so like . . .
Tumblr media
"You and I have unfinished business"

though, lingering over that last post....I wonder how easily this trips into horror story? I mean, in this world where there are child-producing marriages and then sisterhoods/brotherhoods for the rest, this obviously allows the family to keep a stranglehold on their collective assets and wealth. Therefore, I bet that family is an even more tightly-locked cage for those born into it.
Oh, you thought that if you could just escape marriage you'd be free, didn't you? You thought you could join the local order and letter manuscripts or tend goats or say prayers over the dying---but no. No, that's for other people's sons and daughters. You have no escape. You will serve your family forever, whether you will or no. You marry who they tell you to and live in your family's third-nicest castle your whole life; you can have as many lovers and bastards as you want, you can earn coin all on your own, if you can, but it will come to naught in the end. You will be cursed with absolute surety of where you fall: res nullius.
As it was and ever shall be, amen.

Multitasking according to the Emperor of Qing:
- go bond with your illegitimate son about his tragically dead mother
- while the son is admiring her portrait, hop out and check if your soldiers managed to murder the son’s beloved uncle/mentor
- upon learning that they failed, murder a courtyard’s worth of people
- hop back to the son and continue bonding
This way no time is lost and you can combine both heartfelt bonding and murder in the same half an hour ☺️💕

Yknow? With the Xianzhou’s curse of the Abundance and the issues they faced with overpopulation and stagnation because of the undying before they began walking the path of the Hunt, there probably isn’t a ton of cultural pressure to get married and have kids which is absolutely wild considering how leaving behind descendants and the continuation of your bloodline is a whole big thing in Chinese culture

genuinely havent figured out how almalexia reacts to steren so im gonna try here
he does meet her. he has to to get trueflame. she's gonna end up sending for him and in he walks and she is gonna be hit with flashbacks from 3500 years ago
of little baby steren with big blue eyes and almalexia knows in the pit of her stomach based solely on how nerevar looks at him that this is nerevar's son. of house dagoth being killed and vivec showing up with an unconscious steren saying he wants to keep him alive and ayem knows it's a bad idea but this was nerevar's only son and how can she bring herself to kill him too? all of the years as she wondered if it was the right choice to leave him alive. all he did was cause disruption in house indoril while they finished establishing the tribunal temple before he got himself killed chasing after voryn's legacy.
and then he's back. red dunmer eyes. red star on his forehead almost mocking her. almost daring her to deny who he is and his name. and his face looks just like voryn's almost with only the slightest features from nerevar, even after all this time. if voryn dagoth was a dunmer they could pass as twins. no one else knows, except maybe vivec, and she wonders if he's met vivec yet. not that it matters--she intends to kill vivec and sotha sil. she intends to kill this boy too, just like she should have done centuries ago, before she uses the full extent of the tribunal's tower to bury house dagoth once and for all.
vivec would get to talk her out of it this time. it will be a mercy to send the boy to the afterlife to join his parents, azura be damned.

richardiii and frideswide lovell? I am only just hearing of this
Hi! We don't know the truth and don't know the exact details, but yes, that's definitely a (potential) relationship worth discussing!
For those who are unaware, Frideswide Lovell was the daughter of John, 8th Baron Lovell, and his wife Joan Beaumont. This made her the sister of Francis Lovell, the future chamberlain and best friend of Richard III - who she may have had a personal connection to in her own right.
Frideswide seems to have been much younger than her siblings and was not born before 1363, most likely in 1464. She was orphaned soon after her birth, with her father dying a year later and her mother a year after that, leaving her to spend her childhood and adolescence in the household of her brother's parents-in-law. The first properly contemporary mention of her is found in the 1470 pardon Edward IV's government issued for Henry FitzHugh and all those in his household. Unfortunately, not much is known about her beyond that, including the kind of education she received.
When she was around 16, Frideswide married the 15-year-old Edward Norris, oldest son of William Norris of Yattendon and his first wife Joan/Jane de Vere. The teenage couple had their first son, John, in 1481, followed by a second son, Henry, a year later. The latter would be executed in 1536 as one of Anne Boleyn's alleged lovers.
Here's where it gets interesting. As we know, Richard III became King in 1483 after deposing his nephews. Michèle Schindler, author of the book Lovell Our Dogge: The Life of Viscount Lovell, Closest Friend of Richard III and Failed Regicide, has speculated that Richard may have been having an affair with Frideswide, aka his best friend's sister, during that time.
To quote Schindler from a blog post about Frideswide:
In 1483, Frideswide received a "reward" of 50 marks from Richard III after he was crowned king. Perhaps it was this, her support and closeness to her brother`s close friend, that caused a rift between her and her husband, and the couple was divided over political opinions which they needed some time to overcome. Edward`s father William, who had originally supported the Lancastrian cause, had accepted Edward IV as king, but rebelled against Richard [in support of the Princes in the Tower] in autumn 1483. Edward Norris may have supported this, though he never acted against Richard, while Frideswide seemed to support Richard.
However, there is evidence from 1484 which throws a rather different light on Frideswide`s marriage and her relationship to Richard. While her "reward" from 1483 could well have been simply a gesture of friendship by the new king towards his closest friend`s sister, their interactions clearly did not stop there. In August 1484, Richard granted her an annuity of 100 marks, a rather large sum. While this has traditionally been assumed to have been because of her father-in-law`s rebellion, leaving her husband disinherited, this does not seem to have been the cause. None of William`s other children, nor his wife, was granted anything by Richard.
Naturally, it could be that Richard chose to favour Francis`s sister over the rest of her marital family, but this is contradicted by two facts: one, that the grant was for unspecified "services" to the king, not, as that to other traitor`s relatives, as a compensation, a generous gift by the king. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, is that a second grant of an annuity of 100 marks was made from the same venue, dating from 10th January 1485. This grant was not a confirmation of the first, but was added to it, meaning that Frideswide received 200 marks yearly from Richard, a sizable sum, more than the Countess of Oxford, or even his own mother-in-law, received.
The key to this may lie in the fact that the second grant was dated back nine months, and appears to have been made just after Frideswide gave birth to her third child, a daughter called Anne. Very notably, the grants to her, for unspecified services to the king, have the same wording as one to Katherine Haute, a woman often assumed to have been the mother of Richard`s illegitimate daughter Katherine, Richard made years earlier.
Equally notable is that Richard made grants to Francis on the same days as he made those to Frideswide, as a compensation for equally unspecified services, and that Frideswide appeared to have lived with her brother [rather than her husband] while pregnant.
That Henry Norris, in later years, appeared to not treat Anne as his sister, and that William Norris, Edward`s father, later favoured Frideswide`s sons, even apparently helping them become established at court, but not Anne, might also point towards the idea that there was at least a question mark over Anne`s paternity, and that she may have been Richard`s.
If so, Frideswide was in a bad position after Richard`s defeat and death at Bosworth only eight and a half months after her daughter`s birth. It seems, though, that she and her husband Edward made the best of it, and even reconcilliated. In around 1486, Frideswide gave birth to her last child, a girl called Margaret, presumably after Edward`s sister. From surviving documents, Margaret seemed much closer to her brother Henry and her grandfather William, again showing up a difference to Anne."
Of course, we don't explicitly know if this is true - and if it is true, we don't know the exact details - but the circumstantial evidence is indeed very strong, and it seems very plausible to me. I would love to know more about Frideswide, who seems to have had a very interesting and tragic, albeit mostly unknown, life.
In short, it's very interesting and opens up a lot of possibilities, for sure!

there are a lot of rumours around the origin of Shen Yuan, the Sect Leader's favourite disciple--the most popular theory is that he is actually the Sect Leader's son, though its has escaped no one's notice the name and features he shares with Qing Jing's Peak Lord...

Remember my assassin’s creed Tudor era post? I decided to make an OC. Tbh I’m more pleased with the ‘hoodless’ image than the rest of it lol. I did spend all day on this on IbispaintX though so be nice.
She’s a bit of a WIP. I’ll post an updated and more detailed character sheet sometime.
Name: Alice Aigle
Gender: Female
Age: 17-22
Time period: Mid to late Elizabethan England
Occupation: Master Assassin (by default), Lady-in-waiting.
Affiliation: Assassin Brotherhood (English branch).
Personality: Jittery, over-cautious and nervous when it comes to Assassin missions when she first starts out (grows more confident as time goes on), and also has an acid wit and sarcasm not unlike that of Edmund Blackadder. Despite this she is kind towards her friends and allies. Has a tendency to overthink things.
Quote: “I send you a message two months ago to fortify your defences, and here you are, snoozing while your blooming servants and useless guards help Templars carry off your valuables! I suppose you don’t want me to assist by giving your jewels a kick! Well?”
Likes: Peace and quiet, science, teaching, cards, books, painting, cats, blanket burritos.
Dislikes: Loud noises, itchy sensations, London’s part of the river Thames, William Shakespeare’s plays.
Backstory: A descendant of one of Henry VIII’s illegitimate children, Alice’s mother was the grandmaster of the English Brotherhood and even helped put Elizabeth 1 on the throne. Being minor nobility, she grew up in a country house near a village, where the family enjoyed an unusual relationship with the villagers - one of friendship.
However, spies in the Brotherhood lured the Chapter to an ambush at the pretence of discovering a Templar plot to conquer Europe and with the help of several other Templars, massacred the lot of them. Alice’s mother escaped, but was soon hunted down and shot with a Templar crossbow bolt. As she lay dying in Alice’s arms, she told her to look in the chest in her room. After the funeral, Alice looked and found:
-An ‘if you’re reading this, I’m dead’ letter from her mother.
-A book on the Assassin Brotherhood.
-A hidden blade with a hidden pistol (which she broke by mistake).
Thrust into this new life and feeling like she had to rebuild it for the good of the people of England, Alice cobbled together a makeshift Assassin outfit shortly before getting a letter from the Queen - she had been given a job offer as a Lady-in-waiting (which, to those who don’t know, was a paid friend to a rich Lady - particularly Queens). This was done partly because they were related, partly because she felt sorry for the girl, and partly to keep an eye on her, as she had had a somewhat complex relationship with Alice’s mother.
To summarise, at this time of writing the canon is that she’s-teaching herself assassin skills, managing Lady-in-waiting duties, and trying to fight the Templar order all by herself! No pressure, then!

this is the kind of shit i was talking about the other day. no one has any principles. it's just about grabbing as much power as possible.
once upon a time it was "you win some, you lose some"
but now it's "if i can't win then we'll change the rules"
