this is not one of the like 5 video projects I'm supposed to be finishing, this is an animatic meme that I'm pretty sure is still going around which I didn't wanna miss like last time I missed an animatic meme(it still sits in my WIP folder. it's been 3 years) so yes that's why it exists. and also because I'm kinda shocked I haven't seen it yet. sorry if it HAS been made.

#god I wanted to finish this so much earlier like 3 days ago atleast but i kept getting busy(am happy tho)#and THEN it turns out that you can't just skip down the happy rainbow path when rendering a video from krita. no you gotta download this #extension that goes into your folder that you move and then download the other thing and then you go back to the project and check this box #and then it STILL doesn't work so you look yp video tutorials and give up on that method resorting to exporting all the individual frames #and combining them and the audio in premier adjusting the video time as such cause it was too fast(so I apologize if the lip syncing is #annoying. it was meant to be fun....)#but. anyway. that doesn't matter. What is Follies of the Forest?

Follies of the Forest is an original collection of stories and art by your's truly! It's really just alot of self indulgent storytelling that kinda grew into its own beast (pun ENTIRELY intended XD)

I've added some basic info and FAQs below!

Who are the characters in the icon?

Glad you asked! I'll give a basic rundown of the three main players in this little odyssey, as well as basic gist of the story 😌

The King (He/They/It): The King is an old forest fae that had long since died, and was laid to rest in the remains of their forest dwelling, that is, until a certain someone somehow stumbled onto their resting site...

Sebastian Damascus "SD" Braddock (He/Him): A mythology professor and long time friend/housemate to Shop. He stumbles onto an uncanny section of the woods one day while gathering data and samples for class, awakening something that would change his life forever...

Shop (She/Her/They): A freelancer and long time friend/housemate to SD. She's mostly along for the ride, easy going yet brash, she sticks to SD's side like glue as the two try to figure out just what in the world is going on...

Ok, so what's the setting? Why does it feel like there are some details missing?

So that's where things get a little interesting, in my opinion at least. My writing style focuses way more on character interactions, rather than world building, so there are bound to be inconsistencies or plot holes or just, missing pieces in general. That's not to say that there's no world building at all! But there is a level of suspension of disbelief that may be needed to enjoy what I write ^^' I'm always improving, so I hope you can enjoy this all the same!

Are there any content warnings I should be aware of before reading?

Well, as with anything, there will always be something or another that one person might like that another person might not, but I will try to give warnings prior to each story, but overall, there is alot of peril and fear in a bunch of the stories, but nothing too extreme (which again, is a subjective thing)

Can I send in asks/submissions?

Absolutely!! I love getting feedback on my little passion project! If anything, it would only help push me to continue to share more and more!

i remembered this line from azteca and it made me wonder what going through a spiral door is like?WHY is there dirt when you pass through. im confused. i thought we were just walking through a simple door??? yw what are you doing in there

#so i was thinking about things to draw #but then i started brewing lore...#Ryoma turns trash into film and eats it as a snack #kinda tastes like a communion cracker #anyway the gang sees her do this one day #and she tries to defend it by saying that #“its free and its good for environment!”#“if i dont eat it- who will?”#anyway so. obviously theyre like 😦 dude what #methinks Josuke tells his mom and tomoko starts inviting Ryoma over for dinner #essentially Ryoma becomes her second kid sksbsn #also Koichi's mom #obv they get asked why they cant use the money they get from their two jobs for food #ryoma explains that most of their money goes to their uncle bc hes disabled (basically Gadzooks chopped off his arm) and unemployed #But the moms know that Ryoma's uncle gambles.. so theres an inkling of Ryuncles shittyness #gonna call him Ryuncle now its shorter lol #initially the moms thought Ryoma was weird but then they gave them the time of day and now they adore her #gahaha Tomoko chastising Josuke asking him why he cant be like Ryoma #ryoma brings the moms candy from the shop #wah it breaks Ryoma's heart when tomoko and Koichis mom treat her so well because she wished her mom loved her like that #i was thinking of something else but i forgor #ill rb this and add more if i remember
