So, ultimately, yeah, I do think there is sex work on Cybertron. Anything from raunchy photoshoots to nude modeling to adult films to BDSM clubs to pleasurebots, it's all there. Any society with a sex drive is going to have sex work and sex-adjacent products/businesses.

Collections like playboy, stuff that can be ordered on a monthly subscription or just a one time thing is probably most popular with the working class: don't get me wrong, the lower castes would love to have access to that sort of thing, but it's not really financially possible. Can't spend money on sexy magazines when every last cent goes to keeping a roof over your helm and making sure you don't starve til next paycheck. Lower castes probably also have homemade sex toys

Smthn like onlyfans, private, personalized sex work where a single content creator works for themselves, those are preferred by the wealthier mecha, because they can Afford It and find something that's to their specific tastes. It's also not uncommon for the higher castes to sponsor someone in exchange for producing the exact content they want.

Ik you didn't ask about it but I do feel the need to mention it: I also think Cybertron had brothels, ranging from rundown little whorehouses to high end establishments with well trained courtesans that people pay half a year's worth of salary just to spend time with. There's even an AU for that 🤭

And finally, viewing cross faction porn... hm. As far as like, the autobot or decepticon code goes? There's nothing explicitly banning it, and most people don't really care all that much. Whatever Steve likes to jerk it to in his off time isn't really anyone's business, yk? If it gets brought up during locker room talk, there's a couple stick-in-the-ass people that would sneer and rag on their companions for lusting at the enemy team. But, for the most part? No one cares what gets your rocks off

i'm VERY GLAD you asked, okay so:

i've been calling it the 'infernal friends' au based on the idea that, when ik first gets the ritual book, one is marked 'summoning infernal companions', but she doesn't know what infernal means so she just thinks "oh this spell summons friends!!"

so in this au the demons are a bit more.... demonic isn't the best word to use but it's the only one i can think of

basically they adhere a little bit more to common tropes in, like, horror movies and stuff, where they can be summoned by ritual (as ik does), and they also initially do act all monstrous and stuff

they're still themselves while at home, being summoned is like a job to them and they've gotta be Evil while they're on the clock

rather than just sort of existing entirely separate from humans, in this au demons as a whole are more used to the idea of being called upon to do nefarious favours or whatever

(although none of the main cast has been summoned before this on account of their sheer power level)

it's also sort of a nb situation, where their default is their demon forms - they'd actively choose to disguise their horns and wings/tail if they were to go regular form

so it all starts when ik performs the ritual and somehow manages to summon the most powerful (awake) demon in the devildom. this was actually because she pronounced the incantation wrong and ended up changing its meaning entirely

by all accounts it still shouldn't have worked, and she doesn't show any signs of magic otherwise, so everyone's stumped as to how she managed that

when asked, diavolo just says "i was summoned by the heartfelt wish of a very nice child who needed me"

and i know diavolo takes pacts VERY seriously in-game, but it would be very funny (and quite sweet) if he immediately made a pact with ik so that she could summon him to hang out whenever she wanted

failing that, he might just enchant an object in her house to act as a magical link to him

after a few weeks he also gives her that contact list to use if he's ever too busy to come - that contact list being for the seven brothers + barbatos

he doesn't actually tell the brothers about this until afterwards (from their pov, diavolo's just been disappearing in mysterious circumstances a lot recently)

and it's also too late to take it back (plus diavolo won't let them) so uh this is their life i guess

(diavolo's already made barbatos come to meet ik before this, so she's already familiar with him, she just didn't know how to summon him on his own before)

i don't have an idea for everyone, but they do each have a unique ritual

asmo's involved chanting into a mirror, levi's would involve filling the bathtub and then he'd like pop his head out of the water, mammon's would probably use a piggy bank or something

lucifer's would be marked as needing 'music', so ik plays twinkle twinkle on one of those little plastic toy pianos

she picks asmo to summon first because diavolo's mentioned he likes dressing up and that's what she wants to do

for a certain time after that, she disregards the contact list, since she's got three options for friends already and that's the most she's ever had

but asmo convinces her to try some of his brothers too because he's been telling them over and over that this little kid is SO sweet, you'll LOVE her, and none of them believe him

so ik takes a look at the list and picks belphie next because she likes his name

she says it a little wrong at first (she has trouble with the 'lph' sound, so she says it like 'bepphie') but luckily saying 'bephhgor' during the ritual didn't mess it up

and then belphie gets back afterwards like "guys. asmo was right"

and none of them believe him AGAIN

so one by one each brother gets summoned and immediately is like "oh hell yeah i love this kid", while the remaining unsummoned demons are unconvinced right up until they meet her

basically it goes like this:

demon before being summoned: "that's nice and all but it isn't for me. i've got better things to do than babysit some random human"

demon after being summoned: "if my new best friend (child) doesn't ask to play with me again within a week i'll cry"

beel gets summoned last out of everyone because ik didn't know how to say 'beelzebub' and was embarrassed to ask

she had trouble with just about everyone's names except mammon's (often dropping syllables - e.g. "lucsssfer" - or just misreading the word - e.g. "santa")

this is because she grew up speaking chinese at home, and while english became her primary language after starting school, she's mostly non-verbal with anyone who isn't her dad at this point, so she doesn't have a great grasp of unfamiliar phonetics

she's chattiest with diavolo and mammon (the former she met him first, the latter because he's very energetic and she's trying to keep up with him)

and she's quietest with lucifer and belphie (the former because he's got a stern and intimidating demeanour, the latter because he's also quiet and is good at communicating with her without words)

everyone else she's varying levels of loud with

also while lucifer doesn't SEEM to do the 180 after getting summoned, he also let ik take a nap in his lap during that first summoning so he totally still did

this way ik gets a whole catalogue of demons to hang out with while her dad's away!!

zhao's just glad she's getting taken care of

conducting the rituals is the fastest way to summon (and also the demons can't really choose not to), but it's a hassle to do, so everyone else would also either make a pact or enchant an object that calls them

everyone's objects would be:

a rock pet (diavolo), the toy piano (lucifer), a novelty coin (mammon), a rubber duck (levi), one of hyde's cat toys (satan), a plastic tiara (asmo), an broken saucepan (beel), an old blankie (belphie), and the teapot from a play tea set (barbatos)

You and Steve-O had a... complicated relationship. By ‘relationship’ you meant being coworkers and by ‘complicated’ you mean him trying to get in your pants every minute. He was persistent, you’d give him that but eventually it would just get pretty irritating. His relentless flirting drove you up the walls and would only get worse when he was drinking which was pretty much all of the time.

“Hey pretty lady.” He’d slur, beer in one hand as his other arm slid sleazily around your shoulder.

“Leave me alone Steve, I’m trying to work.” 

“Now why are you the only one who calls me Steve?” He’d spit the last word out like it was some disgusting piece of food.

“That’s rich coming from the dude that constantly has something up his.”

You just shook your head, still attempting to shove his arm off of you.

“Not happening.”

“Well I know I’d definitely want you in front of a camera, doing other things.” 

“Alright that’s enough.” Finally he’d be shoved off of you.

“Yeah I gathered that much Steve.”

You had to admit, having a little admirer on set did make things a little more interesting. Every day you’d come in curious as to what outlandish thing Steve-o would say to you to desperately try to pull you. It wasn’t that he was ugly or anything, in fact you actually found him pretty cute but rejecting his advances just felt like principle after doing it a million times. After all, you were only a camera op trying to do your job. 

However the routine you were used to was flipped on its head when you returned to set after a new addition was added to the cast. Stephanie Hodge was a model friend of Johnny’s whom he invited to join the show when it became too much of a sausage fest. She was super sweet and kind and you guys hit it off right away but one thing was, she was absolutely stunning so naturally caught the eye of practically every guy on set.  It’s not like you were jealous or resentful of her or anything like that but a little part of you seethed at the fact your usual work lover was no longer falling over his feet over you. You never thought you’d miss the idiot bugging you as you tried to set up your camera every morning, whispering stupid things in your ear and trying his damndest to take you out but alas, here you were grinding your teeth and tapping your foot looking over at the drunk talking animatedly at the new girl in town.

“You alright there?” 

You were snapped out of your daze by a familiar voice.

“Oh, uh yeah I’m just uh- setting up.” 

Ryan tried to hide his smirk but failed at doing so as you noticed the slight upturn of his lips.

“What?”

He shook his head, smiling.

“Oh nothing. So what d’ya think of Steph?”

“Oh she’s great! She’s gonna be really funny I already know it.” 

Ryan nodded, still smirking.

“What?!” You punched him in the arm, trying to squeeze out whatever he was obviously hiding from you.

“No, nothing! It’s just... you seem sort of jealous is all.” 

You paused for a moment before scoffing dramatically.

“Jealous?! Of- of who?!” 

Ryan shook his head again, grinning.

“Dunno, just seems like maybe you’re missing your little Steve-O following you around like a lost puppy.”

You rolled your eyes as over the top as you could.

“Miss?! God no, if anything it’s a relief not having him here. We’re gonna be like way ahead today cause’ I’ll actually be ready to shoot on time.” 

Ryan bit his lip, still grinning from ear to ear.

“Whatever you say.”

He walked off, leaving you to dwell in your thoughts of brewing jealousy. 

Once lunch arrived you ended up at the catering table at the same time as your ‘ex’ admirer. The whole morning he’d been laughing and chatting to Steph who actually seemed kind enough to give him the time of day. He barely looked up when you brushed elbows, focusing too heavily on piling two plates up with food.

“Hey.” You spoke, possibly the first time you’d ever initiated conversation with Steve, just out of curiosity you supposed. 

“Hey.” 

He didn’t even bother making eye contact when he responded, almost as if it was deliberate.

“Who’s the other plate for?” 

You weren’t really sure why you were asking, you already knew the answer.

“Steph.” is all he said before walking off in the opposite direction, leaving you slightly bewildered at this sudden swap of character. 

How had he managed to make you the one desperate for his attention? 

As the days passed your resentment only grew, the other guys beginning to notice how you would shoot daggers with your eyes at the two love birds from across set, not on purpose of course. You couldn’t help but feel almost neglected, change not being your favourite thing to deal with. Well, only change in some ways as the newest shift in your life was rather welcomed.

Since your loss of the buzzcut-having idiot, a new person had strolled in to fill in his shoes as the one to annoy you as you worked. Well, not necessarily annoy, you rather enjoyed having Ryan around to talk to you. He wasn’t trying quite as desperately to get in your pants, in fact his flirting was far more subtle. 

The more Ryan was around, the less you seemed to care about Steve-O and Steph. Every morning he’d head over to where you were setting up and start talking.

“Hey, I listened to that band you were telling me about the other day, they’re really great actually.” Ryan told you, handing over a cup of coffee he got.

“See I told you they’d be your thing! If they come to LA or Philly we should go.” 

As you chatted away you began to notice a pair of eyes trained on you, an angry glare glazed over them. Steve-O had his fists clenched tightly as well as his jaw, looking as pissed as ever. You tried to ignore him and continue your conversation but you still found yourself getting distracted as the man-child stormed off in a huff.

‘What the fuck is he so mad for?’ You thought. All this time he appeared to have completely moved on from you and now suddenly he was all bitter about you simply talking with Ryan?! That doesn't seem fucking fair! You had always passed Steve-O off as the one jackass who would consistently ‘harass’ you but now after these games were going on it dawned on you; was there something there? Underneath this simple little routine you had formerly developed, had there always been some real emotions? You swallowed that down like a large pill, uncomfortably stuck in your throat. Fuck.

Before you knew it, filming was over and Tremaine was hosting the wrap party at his house, inviting the entire cast and crew. You dressed up pretty nice for it, sporting a short skirt and low cut top, if it wasn’t to impress Ryan it may have been for... you know who. 

The night was pretty great, getting to be intoxicated with your co-workers is always a privilege and you and Ryan were pretty much stuck together for the whole night. You also took notice to Steve glued to Steph as per usual but even still after all this time it didn't seem like either of you had actually gotten anywhere with your new partners. In fact a lot of the conversations you were having seemed to be held while your eyes were drifting in search of the other.

“I really fucked up my back on that one, which was stupid cause’ it was already fucked up.”

You nodded along to Ryan’s story while sipping your vodka coke, Steve-O and Steph in the corner of your eye sitting on the other couch. You chewed at your straw absentmindedly, the jealousy simmering in your heart as he slung his arm around her. 

“Go talk to him.”

Your attention was taken away.

“What?”

Ryan shook his head, smirking.

“To Steve-O. This is what it’s been all about, just get it over with already before you don’t see him for another six months.”

You shook your head in disbelief.

“I don't-”

“Its fine, really, I get it.” He gave you a genuine smile before getting off the couch towards Bam and the others. You sat in silence for a moment before looking up towards Steve-O, his eyes already boring into you even with Stephanie chatting away. Fuck it. 

You pushed yourself off the couch and beelined straight towards the man who was already looking at you, a puzzled expression on his face. 

“Sorry Steph could I talk to Steve for a second?” 

You stood in front of the pair, the alcohol making everything a little less daunting.

“Yeah, of course.” 

You smiled politely back at Steph before beckoning her partner to follow you. 

“What do you want?” He tried asking you but you had no response, only booming through Jeff’s house searching for a vacant room. 

Eventually you found a guest bedroom and guided Steve inside, closing the door behind him.

“What is going-” He was cut off by your lips slamming onto his, hands clutching at his face as you did what sober you could never dream of. 

It took Steve-O a moment to register what the hell had happened, but when he did he did not hold back. His mouth moved equally as eagerly, hands already gripping your waist and pushing you against the door. You pulled away for a moment just to take off your top, going right back to it afterwards, slowly edging towards the bed. 

Once the back of Steve’s legs hit the mattress you both fell onto it, him settling you to straddle him, his hands slyly moving up to your tits. Everything following moved fast, the remainder of your clothes were off and on the floor in a matter of minutes and before you knew it your legs were straddling over his crotch, him slowly pushing up into you.

You winced as he did so, eyes flashing up to meet his, the first time you had actually done that during your whole encounter. You were met with a look of almost adoration as he finally felt you, about a years worth of pent up hunger being fulfilled right then. thinking abt how rtc could be made into a Full Length Musical. (and Yeah it already is but its only a 90 min one act. what if we made it 2 hours yknow.)

this is also bc i think abt rtc already as sort of having a Break between 2 acts in a way. and it’s after talia. the first lull/conversation moment. then everything gets Different (and not just bc of sabm lol) idk. that’s just how i think abt it sometimes

but here’s what i’d do:

1) go into more depth abt what happened when it crashed. i want injuries and specific causes of death and Whatnot (and when we meet the cast later in the show have them display similarities to that too.. kinda like jane and her head!! but with all of them!!)

-itd be like. part of their intros. like… noel gruber. most romantic boy in town. pisces, sign of passion. favorite ride: the ferris wheel. cause of death: basically gutted in the cyclone. like karnak knows all that. why not Tell Me abt it :)))

-jane would still be Most apparent though. like she’s got the doll and the contacts and the whole Look to show she’s headless. the rest don’t have physical stuff like that. it’s more like they just display phantom pains. mannerisms and stuff

give me ocean and noel having a Conversation and actually Seeing each other better and perhaps apologizing instead of attacking each other because they’ve seen both of their songs and backstories now (as in give me ocean and noel Sibling Dynamic !!!)

give me mischa and ricky talking abt how SICK everything is even though they’re dead. even though mischa hasn’t even seen sabm yet he still thinks ricky’s the fuckin coolest guy ever bc of the Squeeze Keys™️ yknow (and also having the mischa-noel hug before that just makes him think abt it all More)

finally. give me constance and jane. give me constance still being scared to talk to her but finally hearing her out and letting her talk abt Whatever she wants to say yknow. let jane tell constance why she keeps trying to be her friend.

and i can’t stress this enough but it would be in Addition to their conversations after the new birthday song!!!! a) ocean and constance’s is an incredible transition into jawbreaker/sugar cloud and i don’t want to lose that and b) i Love watching them interact. they’re all such interesting characters <33

like i dont think shes the WORST, the female zodiac spirits but idk

and ok stay with me cuz i promise I don't say this cuz shes "useless" or emotional or whatever goku stans say idk

lucy is potrayed the worst bc dispite the seirse, kinda revolving around her journey, the series never really gives her moments to grow in the traditional action shonen sense?

like ok ok first, shes a novice wizard at the start of the show with like, 3 or 4 zodiac keys,, now if I lived in a world where there were 12 zodiac keys TOTAL and some blonde rich girl inherited 4 of them??? id??? aks questions???? or would at least assume shes much more powerful and important, and that could have been a fun plot thing considering she has her moments of arrogance that show her inexperience,,, bUT these moments just,,, KEEP HAPPENING like??? even after lucy gets her star dresses we r suppose to laugh like haha lucy really thought she could help like??????? what???? so natsu can solo like,,, all the villains but lucy cant like,, win a fight on her own without being the but of the joke??? i think she does do stuff later but it bothers me?? that shes arguably the female lead and her arc and emotional journey revolves around natsu specifically?? like yea she grows with fairy tail and stuff but it feels like the narrative is constantly punishing lucy for even TRYING to do cool shit???

what if my clips are a little under a minute? thats absolutely fine! i did say approximately lmao as long as its not anything dramatic like 20 seconds then idrc tbh

any specific part of the song i have to sing? if i didnt specify in the auditions info post, then nope! you can pick whatever part you think is best

what if my character doesnt talk enough for a full minute of spoken lines? you can just pause for a bit when another character is speaking/theres a song, or have someone read the lines with you (ik some people are doing that). you can also do multiple scenes if you want, as long as the whole thing is around a minute! over or under wont matter, again as long as its not too dramatic

will there be understudies? unfortunately not, we don't really have that many people lol

wait what squip voices glad you asked the squip will have 2 or 3 voices for the "roboty effect" (so yall squip auditioners have a bigger chance lmao) im not sure if i will have a "main" squip actor and then "backup voices", or if i will have multiple mains, because of different portrayal and stuff but we'll get there when we get there EDIT: we got there and decided there will be one actor for the squip, and the understudy/voice of character's squip idea is on the backburner as of now!

So ik its been a while since i've really drawn or talked about my boys but a refresher for everyone is i have an OC universe/story loosely titled Flesh and Bone with is a The Thing inspired story featuring my Oc's Clay, Damien and Jack! All three work on a shady arctic base run by an evil corp unbeknownst to them, and after a sequence of horrible incidence and creature attacks Clay is 'killed' only to come back as! Some sort of slopbeast thing monster! He's cool and chill though, not a threat to anyone; hes a wet bag of nerves desperately trying to maintain his shape as the man he was once before, because thats who he is!! It's a story about identity (both in all my main cast being trans men but also in the more metaphorical and subtextual reading of. Clays whole deal lmao) and exploring what that means, and its also about three gay fruits experiencing THE HORRORS!

I have not written it, it's far too big a task rn, but thats the basic idea <3 everyone can always feel free to check the flesh and bone tag or any oc tags (ie oc: damien, oc: clay, oc: jack ect) on my blog to see stuuuuuuff about it!

Lately a lot of what i've been thinking about with my oc's has been the physical changes that happen throughout the time they spend trapped in that research base, because they are there for a LONG time they do look different than they do at the start! Obviously there's the general stuff like Damien's hair growing long and the roots showing, Clay's facial hair getting scruffy and his hair getting long and unruly too, jack cutting all his long hair off (too dangerous to wield a flamethrower frequently with all that hair in the way in his learned opinion); but then there's the more physical side of going through this really tough time too, more than just aesthetic changes like hair and clothing changes. The most obvious is yes, Clay IS just a writhing mass of meat that replicates the appearance he wants to be seen as; yes including his clothes his scarf has a heartbeat don't worry about it. But then there's stuff that's not Whatever the hell Clay's deal is; Jack loses a leg, they all gain a multitude of new scars, this is a long, tough situation to survive and none of them are untouched by this- but thats part of the point! You can go through traumatic stuff and you can make it through, it might change you, it might change stuff about you, sometimes in ways you cant undo, but you can still make it through!! And you can still be loved as you rightfully deserved, and you can live a long happy peaceful life!! Thats a big part of the heart of *waves hands* what i am doing in my head with my oc's.

When i can draw for longer periods again i'd like to make reference sheets with 3 views of each character on each, a before, during, and after.

Another thing i've been thinking of lately is the day comes back after 'dying'! And its both horrific and later funny so i like it a lot.

So. Thing style monster drags him away screaming from the base, he is torn to shreds, the last person to see him alive is Damien and he watches that thing tear him *apart*. Everyones pretty certain he's very dead.

Days pass.

Then Clay wakes up in a hollowed out ice cave, one thats been melted into this larger open space by the pile of dead flesh and meat that has been dumped inside it, the pile that he has also been dumped in. It reeks, its horrific, he has to climb and clamber his way to the top in a state of abject disgust and horror; he doesn't remember how he got here. He doesn't remember anything past that thing getting a hold of him. (Unbeknownst to him he IS that thing but he'll figure that out later, he kind of does know that to an extent but not on any conscious level nor is he willing to accept it to much later, boys in denial. When it killed him and ate his flesh for some reason it fucked the beast up and fully replaced whatever it was before with his memories and consciousness so this is him now, the body he had before is gone, this is Clay now)

The only way out of this cave is a very narrow passage leading up, he starts to try and crawl in. Too tight, he doesn't fit. He keeps trying and trying in sobbing desperation until....he.....does fit. Shoulders give way, he slides in, this gap too small to rightfully fit his head through he is somehow now fitting through. He's going to pretend he isn't, he's not a stupid man but he fully cannot cope with comprehending his body moving as if boneless right now, his brain cannot cope nor begin to even parse the possibility that he is morphing like slimy slipper meatgoop to fit through here. He escapes, collapses out there on the ice for a bit miles from the base. He cries for a bit. Repeats in his head over and over that that hole was big enough for him, it was normal, he crawled normally, it was normal and fine. And then he eventually starts walking through freezing winds and blizzards in the direction he hopes the base is.

NOT FUNNY YET I KNOW, BARE WITH ME. ITS THE NEXT BIT OK

Clay reaches the base eventually and climbs through a window, enters the currently empty dining hall. He's back! He is. So so mentally checked out and traumatised and FUCKED from his experience that all he can think to do is just....go back to normal, pretend it never happened. He sits down. Pours himself a coffee in his favourite mug.

Footsteps echo closer, people are coming.....

jack and Damien walk in and freeze. They stare at Clay.

Clay stares at them.

'H-hey!' He says, waving over, 'you uh! You guys are up early!'

is your hair wavy? Can I ask what products you used? Trying to get more into my hair but.. no ideas

i do have wavy hair naturally but i dont treat it like i should so she doesnt look that great very often rip </3 i followed this hair routine by emily freybler mostly bc she makes the whole routine seem simple and quick and i do not have the energy to be doing a whole lot

she has a blog post in the desc of stuff she used but basically she recommends shea moisture for shampoo/conditioner and leave in conditioner esp the manuka honey line but um i couldnt find that at walmart except for the conditioner so for shampoo i saw this as i am rice water shampoo right next to the shea moisture shelf just bc i want my hair to grow faster lol and for leave in i already had this one by curlsmith so i just used that but the shea moisture one is probably cheaper idk and she used the not your mother curl cream and the curl gel which i only used the gel bc. i couldn't find the other one in store. there is a common theme of use whatever is available rip but i want to get the cream if i find it at the store one day. also she said to use a hair oil to scrunch out the cast from the gel so i used one i put into a travel bottle months ago so idk what it even is but it sure went in my hair <3 im being very helpful ik SORRY i think my hair still turned out nice so ^-^

i basically did what she did in the video but some things to look out for that i think i scrunched my hair too aggressively and the curls didnt shape as well as i wanted so basically scrunch it and hold it for a few seconds and let go and repeat isntead of just SCRUNCH SCRUNCH SCRUCH super fast. i dont have a diffuser so i just used a blow dryer and set it to low and just kinda held my hair to my head and held the dryer a little bit away

but despite all that i think it turned out nice <3 its mostly about the method i think and its not many products its shampoo/conditioner (a given) leave in conditioner, curl cream and gel, and a hair oil. or maybe i think its not a lot because i already had some version of half of that in my bathroom um anyway i hope this helps a little ^_^

Hey anon, thanks for waiting! It's been an exciting weekend but also a lot of incredibly heavy stuff has come up and I realised I was pretty mentally exhausted. I still am to be honest so I apologise for not delivering on my usual essays and am going to keep this fairly shorter than my usual asks!

So first off I want to direct you to this post of mine because it's the same tone I want to take with this ask. That I hear you and its okay to be upset. It really does seem unfair.

That being said, I have said time and time again I really do not like pitting these two women. [Ik you aren't doing that anon but just constantly comparing them can get tiring and like you said its sad to see!]

Yes, while I disagree with CC's Bridgerton opinions and how she has conducted herself on her solo press tour, I still do enjoy her as an actress and am looking forward to her next project! However, since her Bridgerton press has made me uncomfortable and view her in a less than great light *to me*, I have created a boundary not to engage in any of her press tours or interviews in the future. And hopefully no one will send me asks about it anymore because the interviews won't be for Bridgerton!

Anyways all that said, and while we are talking about personal boundaries with yourself: my advice to everyone who does keep checking these things (which I understand can be addictive and you want to see our girl supported but not at the expense of your own mental health!) is to set that boundary not to check. I never check these things, hell I don't even read or watch press and my peace of mind has been better for it! The only time I hear about this is from anons on here or, one or two friends who happen to notice these things sometimes.

If you all choose to do this, great I'm happy for you to have more peace of mind in an already chaotic fandom with drama every day ahahah. Now, its time to reflect on how this behaviour from the cast is not on us or Simone. It's a reflection of the cast and it's their own damn problem. It's none of our business and they're just showing themselves, to be honest. [We can't even use the algorithm excuse to brush them off anymore, it takes less than 5 seconds to search up Simone's name and drop a like/comment. But whatever, their devices, their choices. I do not care anymore.]

We LOVE our girl, like/comment on her IG and hype her up enough and she knows and sees all of them. I think we can also take comfort in the fact that Simone probably does not care for these things (who in the cast is commenting or liking) and knows her worth so we shouldn't care too imo! We get back a lot of our power and control over how we feel when we just choose not to care honestly.

All that matters is our favourite IG grandpa got so excited he commented twice on our ViscountYES's post!!

!!!OPTIONAL INFODUMP ON HOW KINGDOM TWO CROWNS WORKS!!!!

Ok so first things first for anyone who doesnt know what kingdom two crowns is its a side scrolling videogame where you play as a monarch rebuilding your kingdom from scratch and every night these monsters called the greed cone out of portals to attack you, and they slowly get stronger. They take your money, and can turn your workers into homeless peasants by stealing their money. You 'die' if the greed steal your crown. You move through different islands by repairing your ship and each island will have stronger mounts or hermits which can help you (and these are unlocked with gems). Every island will have a final portal that defeating will stop the greed from returning on that island. You cant beat the first island without going to different islands first (as far as ik anyway).

!!!AU STARTING HERE!!

Yjh as the monarch rebuilding/building a kingdom ti fight against the greed. Kdj as one of the hermits/ the dude who will hold onto your gems for you. The vibes im feeling are yjh struggling in what feels like a hopeless battle, exploring ruins to find anything that could help his kingdom survive. Hes just repaired his boat to move on to another island in search of a stronger mount when kdj appears wearing a cloak and looking sketchy af. Yjh still has some gems on him and kdj, with his untrustworthy smile, offers to hold onto them for him. Yjh is suprised bc in all his regressions (yea, regression is happening :/) hes never seen kdj. Yjh doesnt trust kdj or believe him about holding onto his gems, but he wants to know why kdj has nvr appeared b4 so he asks kdj to join him. Kdj is like nah, and blah blah eventually yjh ends up giving kdj 1 gem to see what happens. He thinks worst case scenario hell just start over. Then next island yjh cant find kdj again for weeks and hes pissed. But then kdj appears again by that half rebuilt boat with that grin of his and with yjhs gem.

And kdj stays there, offer always open to hold onto the gems. Sometimes kdj will even offer yjh advice. Advice that turns out to be life-saving. Anyways so yjh gets attached to the mysterious man, and everytime he travels to a new island he is worried about kdj not reappearing. But he always does.

Hmm ok so why dont the greed chase kdj? Bc hes a wizard, magical boy, whatever, and can cast a spell that makes him hidden from the world, so he can watch as an observer. Before the regressions began, kdj lived in the woods with his mom. Non of the cannon trauma, kdj's dad was killed when he was young bc kdj's mom was a witch and modern laws and law enforcement werent there so he dead b4 kdj can rlly remmeber him. However we do have some trauma with how isolated kdj was and also his mom was shunned from the current kingdom (of which yjh was the prince) for being a witch and idk ppl also probably tried to kill them for that and all. So that means that the hidding magic is one of the first things kdj is taught. Bc he had to use it so often he can cast this spell w/out a book or other ritual aids, but all other spells he needs extra materials for andd his spellbook. So that means he totally gets yjh to essentially go on fetch quests for him with the reward of stuff like "strengthened city walls", or "a boutiful harvest".

Anyways, back to the backstory, when kdj becomes an adult, he goes off on his own, wandering through the woods and being a hermit, collecting books/exploring ruins and avoiding ppl bc he has trust issues ofc. Hmm, need an origin story for the greed, do they appear out of nowhere? Ummm, so one day the earth trumbles and the air crunches and outside of the kingdom black rocks fly together to form arcs, and with a firey woosh purple illusory flames appear inside the arcs, and out of these portals run these black and oily child sized figures which begin to wreak havoc and the apocalypse starts.

Yjh cannot even begin to save his kingdom this first time because its so sudden, hes caught up in the havoc of just trying to survive like everyone else. Then, just as hes about to pass out from blood loss or smthing, a cloaked figure appears before him and asks him "do you want to save your kingdom?" When yjh blearily answers yes, kdj smiles and says cryptically "many have failed, but perhaps, you will be different".

So then yjh blacks out and bc he was dying he forgets this. Kdj takes him away and heals him, then leaves him somewhere safe with only his crown and a horse to try and rebuild and survive. He fails, and when he dies he wakes up again with only his crown and a horse. He doesnt remmeber kdj.

Okay okay more backstory time, not only was kdjs mom a witch, but also their family are some of the only ones who had records of and knew about the coming apocalypse, some generations try and stop it, others mearly standby. So when it comes around again kdj decides he wants to try and help, that maybe this time will be different, and will end the apocalypse for good.

So yjh continues on, this mysterious yet helpful man coming and going, working to defeat a the portals on every island. Finally he makes it back to very first island, where it all began. This time when he goes to attack the last portal, kdj appears and tags along. Used to kdjs sporadic and confusing behavior, yjh thinks nothing of it.

But at the end of this final portal, on the very first island, is the king who was supposed to be dead. Yjh looks at the father he barely knows or recognizes with horror, and, the truth beggining to dawn on him, anger. The truth of the apocalypse was that it was always caused by a previous king who had defeated the previous apocalypse and, in the height of their kingdom and success, become corrupt with greed, until when they die their spirits cant accept it and they bring about the apocalypse once again. This is the secret that kdjs family knew, and he helped yjh not knowing him but hoping he would be different. And he was right, yjh would be different.

Anyways after that yjh forces kdj to come back with him, and having helped in the fight kdj is too exhausted to actually fight or run away like he ussually does and then they live happily ever after in their kingdom (yjh gives kdj a crown and makes him a ruler as well, claiming that kdj helped just as much but we all know the real reason he does that is bc he wants kdj to stay and also ppl will think theyre married which yjh does not mind).

I forgot to add but the reason kdj only appeared after a couple regressions is bc of that underlying fear from his youth about ppl hating him. And the only reason he appears at all is bc he wants to help and finally decides to risk trying it.

Once again im sorry to anyone reading this bc i am not editing...

my two cents about buddie going canon:

i feel like with buddie, if everything else about their relationship remained the same as it is in canon, but one of them was a woman, there would be next to zero doubt that it was heading to a canonical romantic relationship. i think that’s the difference here…like, we’re not delusional, there’s so much there that hints to a buddie endgame. am i as 100% certain as some other buddie truthers?, no, but i wouldn’t say there’s been 0 indication of it on the show

i mostly disagree but respectfully, i promise. the thing is... i think you need to be able to look at the context of the show and what it's trying to achieve rather than zero in on these individual dynamics that you personally want to read as or would enjoy as romantic. if we're gonna talk about something going canon, i mean. i know we get caught up in that romantic/shipping part in fandom bc it's the most fun, but it's not realistic to think the ppl running the show are approaching it that way at all. 911 is a procedural. it's not like groundbreaking tv in any real sense beyond the fact that it's putting diverse casts in front of wide audiences, and when it's trying to be "groundbreaking", it comes right out of the gate advertising it that way... like subtlety is NOT what network tv is known for, and i feel like every single theory i see about this long slowburn for buck and eddie hinges on a quality that just doesn't exist in this specific mediumfjdsk. like everyone wants to talk about how groundbreaking it would be to have some repression arc come to fruition and these two shown-to-be straight characters so far falling for each other, and that would absolutely be a treat,,, if network tv had ever been known for pulling stuff like that. 911 truly already covered the basis of a "coming out later in life" storyline with michael, so i have nO clue what makes someone think they'd take the risk of doing it again.

ik that actress that plays carla got some backlash for what she said about buddie (ider exactly the words, ik some of them were ignorant ((but also i laughed)) abt the alphabet ppl or whatjlkfdjsk im yelling), but realistically, when she talked about how buck or eddie wouldn't be canon bc they're the heartthrobs, she's not exactly incorrect that that's the way hollywood works. should it? not necessarily, but it does, lol, idk why bother trying to deny that. buck and eddie are both the two young macho straight guys to project onto in this show... the ones women thirst after also, and that's currency in tv, whether or not it's good moral practice or the right thing or whatever we can argue. i honestly think people are just giving 911 too much credit when they think this is happening or even a possibility. the show (and lone star and any other network tv show pumped out at this pace, it's not a drag lol) lacks so much nuance in other stories... they mostly just tell things in broad strokes to appeal to wide audiences... so why would they be able to handle this well? what about its formula makes fans think it's gonna defy those conventions of tv? i just don't get the faith, especially when everyone is railing on the show and writing 24/7 the second things don't go their way for 5 minutes. that's why i've said before.. on the very (very very very very, honestly nonexistent in my own brain but ill let myself imagine) slim chance they ever did become canon, it'd 100% be the pressure of fans. which again.. i don't think there's THAT much sway or power there compared to general audiences n ratings, it's just the most visible/loudest through the direct connections w social media these days lol... and historically fans have won that battle about "queerbaiting" ships like 0 times. though i also 100% disagree with the idea that should buddie never go canon it's queerbait but i digress.

of course you can take lines between buck and eddie and make them SOUND romantic if that's what you want to choose to see (honestly i could probably do it for any crack pairing in the show too, in some form or another), but the staging of the scenes themselves and the direction/acting of the actors has legitimately never landed that way or been overtly romantic (in the way that network tv often is) imo, and i don't think it's supposed to be. i don't think the show is trying to plant any seeds, i don't think there is some long con here. this show exists episode to episode, season to season. it's always about expanding threads they left open in the past, rarely about some long arc planned from the beginning. i think the over-analyzing nature of online fans (affectionate bc me too, just not abt this) and honestly this hyperfixated-on-queer-content corner of the internet is the reason buddie even exists as a thing. i wish i was around for its conception just to see the creators/actors initial reactions to it bc i bet they were SURPRISED that that's smth people would latch onto or even think about. i know i was when i finally learned what it was (and i literjlkdjsklfjlk look for gay people everywhere in media, don't let me be misunderstood) and i know if i went and asked 95% of the ppl watching this show what they thought of it, i'd be planting the idea in their mind for the very first time, lol. it's just... not apparent, and frankly, that's reason enough for me to believe it'll never happen.

Watcher headcannons!

So watchers are created by the universe, and are assigned a number upon their creation. This number is essentially their name.

Watchers are mostly emotionless, possessing only anger and wrath when it calls for it.

When they are born they are slightly smaller and grow as they learn and develop their magic.

Watchers are born with minimal abilities. They have some magic but barely know how to use it. So each new watcher attends a training school to learn how to fly, use magic, and to learn about their responsibilities as watchers.

There’s a couple different breeds of watchers. Watcherlings is one. Also known as minor watchers these watchers are very small. Still taller than most humans though. They are the worker bees of the watchers. They never leave the true end, all of their tasks are done there. They deliver messages, build castles and set up territories. They also get treated the worst. Unlike watchers, minor watchers possess no emotion, not even anger. They attend a school seperate from the major watchers

Major watchers are the substandard watchers! Like Braid and Crown from atus. When they finish their training then enter a limbo state where they can basically do whatever they want until they get paired up. Sometimes it can take awhile. When the Covenant assigns them a partner they get assigned a territory and a world. They live in castle within that territory. Their job is to watch over the world, guide the people living there, and test them with towers filled with puzzles and choices. Every cycle they bring their progress to the Covenant. They have a chance to prove their worth and potentially get an upgrade to their castle and territory. However if no improvement is shown they get banished and replaced. Braid and Crown are good at what they do so they have a giant territory but they also have a tendency to abuse their power. They look down on humans more so than most.

Evangelical Watchers are another breed. They are huge and powerful. Often shortened to Eve Watchers these guys are the highest power amongst watchers. They are rarely born, and once they do they immediately take a seat on the Covenant. Which is a council of watchers that makes desicions and sets up the watcher pairings. They monitor progress on all the pairs and if someone is unfit they are cast out/retired. They are tough and are impossible to reason with. Unlike minor and major watchers they posses a wide range of emotions which makes them believe they are basically gods.

Smaller headcannons

Watchers can break bedrock, like shatter it

There’s a wide expanse of outskirts in the true end where unwatched portals are. Either because the world is empty or it has an admin.

All the portals are made out of bedrock but have varying colored auras

Watchers can’t mess with redstone, their magic doesn’t affect it. And it burns their skin when they touch the powder

Watchers cannot take over worlds with an admin. Despite being “all powerful” they can’t beat the world controlling powers of an admin.

Their favorite blocks are obsidian and bedrock.

The true end has biomes! And their is no purr purr or chorus fruit. Those were a failed attempt at the universe trying to recreate the true end. And the enderman are failed watchers from that end.

Major and Minor Watchers are kept unaware of the biomes and really only live in the end waste which is just empty end stone islands surrounded by void. The Covenant wants them to think that they are the only things there. “There is no life outside of our territory’s”

There is lush forests and stuff, I’m still fleshing this part out tho.

The void sings, most watchers can’t hear it. It calls out to those who lack the willpower. It dares them to jump. The song is most effective on humans. If you lack the focus it will take over your mind and pull you into its dark nothing. The hermits never heard it because they had a goal when going to the end. They were focused.

i kind of want him as a mask maker! maybe not the mask maker but i like the idea of tiny vessel escaping the abyss and as he finds his actual personality more actually making other masks for himself to fit the self he wants to be towards others more (to mimic him creating the bear costume n human body to fit in as well skjdhfjks)(also as a small nod to him making glasses for others ig! mask maker)

as for the rest of the cast…. yosuke as a mantis? still has his wings. fast n jumpy to fit w him being fast n air based. speaking of the mantises- adachi possibly as the traitor lord?? not necisarrily a lord like in canon but just someone who accepted the infection willingly to gain power

design wise speaking i like the idea of chie as a bee? warrior bee. for yukiko- idk wtf isma was bug wise but cus her ability grants acid immunity n the acid i think could fit yukikos fire/n immunity her healing powers i wanna say smth like isma. maybe a giraffe weevil (like willoh) as species since idk what isma was and their long necks kinda remind me of yukikos bird shadows neck. yes thats fairly vague but im doing my best. giraffe weevil who has weird acid powers i dont even know. the dream world still exists and its where most of the major fights take place! like fighting the attendants- they’re not asleep but they can access the dream world n can only be fought in there (they dont die if defeated they’ll just be like yea i wont stop ya anymore do your thing)(defeating them prolly required to progress into certain areas besides them just protecting the seal)

teds still the one in charge of portalling them between worlds! when he was scouring the land still forming his personality he got access to a dream nail he can use to not only enter dreams himself but also let the others come w him. why? how? i dont know that yet. this is still just me throwing shit at the wall

oh god. oh god oh fuck this is gonna be extensive maybe,,

favorite au for marth: gonna be honest here, my favorite interpretation of him is kinda skewed along an au in itself, bc that's how i rp'd him for uhh... 3ish years? basically it centered around feh's universe, and was a deeper look into how conflicted he'd be as the lone king of archanea (i think originally in this timeline, caeda had died, but it can easily be revised to where she's just... hurt? not dead? anyways,) when everyone abandoned their claims and raised him into the hero-king position, which he's canonically uncomfortable with. being one man, burdened with the traumas of his childhood, the years of war, seeing those he loves die... on top of becoming the king of an entire continent and revered as a legend, when all he really wanted was altea, to go home. so basically its marth facing these thoughts and finding a way to come to terms with that and find peace in it. feh is my favorite universe/timeline/whatever you wanna call it for this bc its specifically a place he doesn't get thrust into a position of power or into the role of a savior, allowing him to step back and examine just who he is at his core, and come to understand the stories of other lords/characters and how they compare to his.

tldr; basically, its therapy!! marth goes to therapy in askr, makes new friends, and it helps with his haunting ptsd and severe anxiety (maybe a bit of projection on the anxiety part but shh we don't talk about that.)

favorite au for ikemarth: uhh all of them?? hsjshfj, real talk tho, ummmm... I'll go with the royal/guard trope I've got (checks the google doc) 5k written of?? and still not even close to finishing. I've had this au simmering in the back of my head for about 2 years, and its what got one of my best friends into the ship (lmao). basically, ike (and mist, bc i refuse to seperate the siblings) travels the world, ends up in archanea, stuff happens, boom! local mercenary needs a job, saves a prince on accident, ends up with a gig in the royal guard. slow burn of these idiots trying to come to terms with feelings, eventual friends to lovers, intense pining, yada yada. i think this is my fave au for the fact that i get to include more of the archanea cast too, getting to flesh them out and their relationships. caeda and kris are marth's weird lesbian friends (not shipped together tho, bc caeda's got a thing for catria oop), which is imperative because i want caeda and ike to be friends too. ALSO... BIG SISTER ELICE FOR THE GREIL SIBS!!!!! (im just too attached to sibling bonds okay 🥺)

Top Ten games of the 2010′s

This trend seems to be doing the rounds at the moment and seeing as I’ve been gaming for about as long as I can remember, It just feels right. So, let’s get into it. But first, worth saying: These aren't really in any specific order, it's just the games I've personally had the most fun with overall, but it's pretty hard to decide what the hard numbers on things you enjoy for different reasons are if that makes any sense. 10. The 2010's weren't exactly the best time for anyone, I think. For me they were a slog of finding myself and learning things I wish I didn't. Amid all those things I wanted some levity. The world needs something and stupid. We got a lot of it ion 2013 but I feel like we could have used it scattered around a bit more. In that spirit, allow me to show you one hell of a pick me up:

Saints Row 4

Saints Row 4 does not give a fuck. It is aggressively demonstrating that the entire time you play. It doesn't care in the slightest what you think or why, It just wants to show you cool, if juvenile, and interesting, if weird shit. It's the finer points of Ratchet and Clank's arsenal, SR3's humor, And superpowers that genuinely put Prototype and Infamous in a blender and tell you to go ape shit with them. The soundtrack isn't top shelf, it's the roof of the building the shelf is in. Saints Row Two had a better story overall but SR Four's was just plain fun and a solid enough story to still be invested.

The DLC was just as irreverent and madcap, Featuring everything from an evil Santa Clause to evil Gimps on Game of thrones chairs made of dildos Or Tropey-ass costumes and weapon reskins that I'd be genuinely surprised the game dev didn't get sued over. It has earned its place in my top 10 and I will die by that decision.

2016 saw the advent of a new genre. They blended TF2 and MOBAs, and we got hero shooters in their first AAA forms, Overwatch and Battleborn. But neither of these games is on this list, much as I liked them. Partly because the whole time, I kept thinking of one simple question: "Why do I keep thinking of...?"

Anarchy Reigns

Anarchy Reigns is my favorite Platinum game. Full Stop. The Story mode is interesting and has genuinely good character moments, the characters themselves are completely mental, ranging from a mercenary with a bionic cat leg that secretly has a gun built into it to a giant cyborg bull-man with a jet-powered hammer. The soundtrack is mostly angry hip-hop, making every song a banger and fittingly speedy for things like random bombing runs from jet fighters that come from absolutely nowhere.

There are giant monsters, cars with mounted flame throwers, giant robots, and the online is still pretty sweet because even when abandoned, loading it up with bots still rules. I regularly have more fun with this than I ever did with Overwatch, and I don't care how insane that sounds.

Some games want to make you feel something and fail. Some games make you feel some things accidentally, for example, a desperate need to laugh. This game made me feel like a human blender. Like a Chthonic god of mangled flesh and raw destructive power. Nyarlathotep ain't got nothing on me. I speak, of course, of...

[Prototype] 2

There's no end to the absolute destruction you feel like you're causing in this game. It feels more fluid than the first, the main character is a pinch more relatable, and all the body horror, superpowers, zombie hordes, and big old monsters make for some of the most memorable and fun moments and fights in gaming. The DLC is also pretty solid, adding new fun side challenges, and new powers and weapons that elevate you from "Flesh god" to "Screw physics, I made them" Omnipotent. Best god/monster simulation of all time.

Sometimes some games are at an honest tie in your mind. Be it that you like them for essentially the same reasons, or for completely different reasons, but the overall total joy or entertainment they bring is roughly equivalent. Here, we have a case of the former:

Furi/Cuphead

Both games have a tight focus on giving players a unique, boss-centric challenge, both have interesting, somewhat minimal narratives, and both are absolute eye candy.

Furi has a more "Samurai Jack" Quality to me. A complete badass on a relatively simple quest with a somewhat minimalistic art style learning some things as he goes.

Cuphead on the other hand, nails that rubber hose animation style, and the fun levity of such animations while still making the player's ability to interact with the world damn impactful and fun.

They share a spot in my soul, games I love everything about but will never be able to finish. Hats off to both dev teams.

Now here we have another tie. Mostly because the games are so close together, they need to be evaluated more or less as one product IMO, not enough changed for me to consider them separate games, fortunately, that is the furthest thing from an insult it can be in this situation. I present to you, my next pick(s).

Costume Quest 1/2

Now, This might seem pretty random considering my other picks, but honestly, I love Halloween, I love creative madness, I love subversion, I love good characters, and I love cool action, these games have all these things by the bucketload.

The first game is a wild ride through Halloween in multiple very lively locations and the second, slightly confusing as it is, is pretty awesome for the things it introduces, including time travel. Other elements, like the battle stamps, the truly epic forms of everything in the fights, The ability to customize your costumes, etc. they blur together in a pretty big way, but again, there's not a thing wrong with that when both games rock like crystal candy.

Now, if you hadn't noticed, all of the games on this list have had some hard action at their core, and while I don't HATE calmer games, a lot of the time, so many are kinda dull to me in that with the exception of easter eggs of some sort, most farming sims, for example, just have you doing normal farm stuff with very few twists, may as well start a real farm in that case. My most chill entry is a game that tosses that to one side, asks you to grab a suck cannon, and start harvesting gelatinous monster poop.

Slime Rancher

While you don't spend a lot of time actually interacting with other characters, they just talk at you, the story of the game is pretty effective, the player character of Beatrix has left Earth for a simpler life of Slime Ranching, which entails the raising of alien crops, delightfully derpy and colorful chickens, and going all around in an attempt to farm new breeds of slime for their genetic material to sell off or trade-in for the creation of gadgets while being surrounded by a cast of interesting characters. It's all very wholesome family fun.

The game looks great, has great ideas, and is genuinely the best farming game I have ever played. @ me all you want.

The 80's are almost fetishized nowadays. Given all the property reboots, games that go for the vibe and aesthetic of the time, etc. It almost seems as though the eighties vibe train ain't gonna stop rolling any time soon. But we owe it to ourselves to remember the first big swipe of madcap neon-colored actiony B-movie bullshit and how mind-meltingly epic it was. Ladies, Gents, and whatever else, I present:

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Blood Dragon's story is relatively simple, you play Sargent Rex "Power" Colt (A name said in full so many times I thought his last name was "Powercolt" for the longest time), a former "Omega force" cyborg. Rex and his friend "Spider" were sent into a secret island base to investigate the supposed defection and treachery of their old commander, Ike Sloan. It turns out he has gone rogue and taken an army of "Mark 5" Omegaforce cyber-soldiers with him. What follows is a long story of betrayal, science fiction of the highest nonsensical level, comedy, and brilliantly cathartic action.

The collectibles range from data on animals, to research notes from a scientist, to literal VHS cassette tapes that have full descriptions of movies that I would legitimately watch if I could. "You may now kill the brides" is not a real film and I am angry for every day that that is true. Anyway, play Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, I dunno if it's on PS4 but it's one game I'd buy a new/old console for.

A lot of superhero games NEED to railroad you. Your goals MUST be to save the lives of the people and help the weak and all that. But one dev asked the simple question: "What if it didn't?" "What if the player chose how to use their power? What if the player could be as evil or as good as they damn well pleased?" One game gave you the powers of thunder and lightning and asked what you'd do with it. It's sequel asked you the same, but against more... interesting forces.

InFamous 2

InFamous 2 is a game about making choices, just like the first one, also just like the first one, it can have an effect on gameplay. That effect went from "What does this particular power do in this allignment?" To "Which new set of NEW powers would you like?" The forces of the last game went from “Three flavors of gun-toting whackos” To “Possibly an allegory for the Klan, Swamp monsters, and Ice-powered super soldiers.”

This was, and still is, the best game in the whole series, The powers felt distinct from anything else and still do, the story is solid as a rock, and the enemy types were still varied enough to be interesting, I miss the Reapers from the first game, but that's about it. Everything else was a massive step up. If you have something that can run it, play it.

Action is something I think we can all appreciate on some level. We can understand when it does or does not work, we can understand when we do or do not like how it feels when we are the ones partaking in it. EX: Any schlep can tell you when the weapons in your game lack impact, or when your character moves too slow for the game to be fun. The following game is something I can't say anything of the sort about. And it's kind of like Wolfenstein, when you have enemies this bad, who the hell cares how many you kill?

Doom 2016

Y'all are lying if you say you didn't expect this one. It's DOOM 2016. This game is made of hate and fuck. AND I LOVE IT. You move so fast, you may as well be half cheetah and half sports car. You slaughter the dregs of hell by the dozens and even the biggest, baddest things this game throws at you can be beaten with the starting pistol if you have the stones for it. It looks amazing graphically, the demons all look appropriately threatening, and even the Multiplayer is a great deal of fun in my book.

Something worth noting: The story presented by default is pretty barebones, but that's where supplementary material fills in the gaps, the difference between supplementary material in most games and supplementary material here is the material is till IN THE GAME. You're free to ignore most of the plot as it happens around you, and even interesting tidbits of the lore like how certain demons function. Not only are these things missable collectibles, prompting continued play to find them, they are also pretty interesting reads. So yeah, just about everything you could want in a sequel/remake, builds the on lore and gameplay very organically.

And here we are, the last game I'd put in this category. An entire decade, and here, we end on the last game that left such an impact I'd put it in my top ten. But first, let's talk about expectations and delivery: When you say a game is coming out, there are certain expectations you have for gameplay, EX: I say "Ratchet and Clank" and you expect a TPS with platforming elements and crazy guns. I say "Gears of War" and people expect something to do with lumbering about in big armor, dismembering things with a chainsaw gun and otherwise shooting them to paste. We might also expect changes to things, better graphics, innovations in grenade variety, something as that franchise goes on.

After the last game in this series was released, there were tons of people who felt let down and disappointed by it. Then they released the still somewhat disappointing special edition of it. They were both still fun, but neither really felt like the full next step in the series. After a failed reboot, they returned to the original story and the lot of us rejoiced. And when it finally came out? It was a step up in most, if not, all regards, to its predecessors. You know what this last one is. Please, give a warm round of applause to:

Devil May Cry 5

A game that was not only a return to form, but a major escalation in gameplay for one character, and a new style of gameplay all together by way of yet another new character. It didn’t exactly hurt that the story kicked ten kinds of ass and that the game looked spectacular in both the design of everything and the actual graphical fidelity.DMC 5 is, like DOOM, Like InFamous 2, Like [PROTOTYPE] 2, everything you want in a good sequel. It built very well on already solid foundations and it was generally just a fun, slightly goofy, massively stylish, and ultra badass ride. I recommend this, and all these games, to anyone.Good night everyone, have a great 2020. And the rest of the decade, for that matter.
