Since 2001 takes place in Japan could you do platonic headcanons of a nerdy ready showing them Mikasa park? It's a park by the ocean that has a Pre-dreadnaught battleship, IJN Mikasa it's super cool!
(thank you so much for enabling me to write about my favorite show)
Sideburn sure does enjoy the park, but he isn't one for boats. Sports cars are more his type, but he'll let you tell him all about the IJN Mikasa if you'd like to. Cool things and places like these are what make him really love being on earth—and he's also happy at the fact that he has you around to show him all these cool things about your planet!
Gas Skunk loves little boats, and even while the IJN Mikasa isn't exactly little, he'd still love to see it! Not to mention that the park around it is also really nice and peaceful. He'd like to spend as much time as he could around there before an autobot inevitably comes around and blows him out of it.

A ship I've always wanted to visit, finally realized. The IJN Mikasa! Being able to board the ship to experience the history first hand is amazing. I have a lot more pictures, but these are some of my favorites. Hope you enjoy the pictures, and definitely visit her if you ever have the opportunity!

Keep in mind that these are all mid 20th-century warships belonging to the principal navies of the Allied and Axis powers
This is what happens in the anime Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!
Ep1
USS Laffey might be an alcoholic
Kriegsmarine destroyer Z-23 sunk with pillow
Ep2
USS Baltimore has to play basketball and volleyball simultaneously while wearing an underwire bra because of reasons
Prinz Eugen in a slutty Iron Cross apron teaching HMS Javelin to make chocolates
Prinz Eugen licks chocolate off USS Laffey's face
Ep3
IJN Akashi invents cats
Ep4
HMS Rodney (oppai)
Z-23 captured by USS Minneapolis in leg snare
USS Laffey same VA as Kanna Kamui?
Aloe vera bukkake
Ep5
Admiral Graf Spee is shy, wears oversized sweater
Dunkerque - gourmand, gay, wants the Commander (who never appears in the show btw but everybody wants to fuck her)
Ep6
Bismarck (oppai) has it bad for Tirpitz
The Kriegsmarine: Blondes with Big Tits
HMS Javelin, Gay Disaster, can't dance
HMS Formidable eats spicy cupcake
Battleship tonnage/displacement denoted by cup size apparently (not going to do the necessary research to confirm this)
Ep7
IJN Taihō wants the Commander to fuck her so bad it makes her look stupid
IJN Mikasa does not know what online shopping is and is generally Boomer Memes
Ep8
USS North Carolina - secret bunny suit enjoyer (she makes her sister USS Washington wear one also? North Carolina class incest bait apparently)
USS St Louis and USS Honolulu have some kind of D/s thing going on
Just sister ships squishing their boobs together
Ep9
HMS Belfast tea ceremony
Another, smaller, HMS Belfast
Master/servant dynamics involving children or whatever
Ep10
There's like, birds doing maintenance work, just lil canary-looking things in hard hats
Aircraft carrier fan service
Ep11
IJN Mutsu wrecks a powerboat
IJN Nagato afraid of roller coasters
Ep12
USS Laffey has both amnesia and chronic sleepy bitch disorder
Kriegsmarine destroyer Z-23 used as body pillow
Turns out you if you sleepwalk you can just shove your face in people's cleavage and it's fine
THE END
Also there’s an OVA but I have no interest in watching it. This anime is 10s across the board on the Weeb Ass Shit scale.
#azur lane#azur lane slow ahead#this is stupid but it got me through the evening so it has served its purpose#hms formidable s tier waifu

IJN Mikasa, the only remaining pre-dreadnought style battleship in the world. An amazing ship to visit and well cared for by Japanese sailors even today. If you are in the Tokyo region take the train south and visit her.

Major caliber naval guns of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
From the bottom:
>30 cm/45 (12") Type 30: One of the first guns used by the IJN and equipped the first series of pre-dreadnoughts. Based on British designs, these were the first large-caliber weapons manufactured in Japan. Famously used on the Mikasa.
>36 cm/45 (14") Type 36 cm: Again based on British designs, these were the guns used on the Kongo, Fuso, and Ise-class battleships.
>40 cm/45 (16.1") Type 40: The first large-caliber guns designed entirely in Japan. Were used on the Nagato-class and were planned to be used on most ships of the 8-8 fleet.
>40(46) cm/45 (18.1") Type 94: You all know it, the most powerful gun to ever sail the seas. Were officially designated as 16" guns since they were massive treaty violations. Only used on the Yamato-class.
>36(48) cm/45 (18.9") Type 36: Again mis-designated to avoid drawing attention from foreign Navies, these guns were first designed in the 20s before being abandoned when the Washington treaty banned guns >16". Were re-visted in the 30s to form the basis for the 46cm guns the Yamato-class used. Only test-fired.
>51 cm/45 (20.1"): Absurdly large guns planned for the largest class of Japanese battleship: the A-150. Could also be used to upgun a Yamato by swapping the triple 18.1" turret for a twin 20.1" turret. Construction halted at the start of the Pacific War with only one gun completed.

IJN Mikasa, as moefied by Azur Lane. Admiral Togo's flagship at the battle of Tsushima, the only surviving pre-Dreadnought battleship and British-built battleship, also the namesake of two top-tier manga heroines from Scientific Railgun and Attack on Titan. The trouble with this game is that there's so many shipgirls I want to marry obtain and raise, and then another one has to appear...
