Tochiro hyperfocuses like a goddamned champ. I wonder how many times he forgot to eat while he was tinkering with stuff or building the Arcadia. How many times did Emeraldas and Harlock end up giving him food thinking "Yo, you forgot to eat lunch a few hours ago, so I brought you this".

The times he feels he NEEDS to do something and stubbornly sticks to that thing, whether it's fixing the ship when he needs to rest after an injury or it's driving through a disease/cancer causing wormhole to fix Emeraldas's ship, or wandering off to a random western town to find his people in Gun Frontier despite Harlock and Shinunora telling him "Bro, you're gonna get yourself killed!"... it's numerous.

He's like my black cat endlessly looking for his toy mouse because it's his favorite. If he's got something he needs or wants to do, he's dead set on it until it's done. I imagine in the case of tinkering, that might've lead to moments where he ended up staying up all night only realizing he did so after randomly looking at the clock and realizing "Oh shit, I've been tinkering with this machine for literal HOURS!! O_O" and going to bed at like the crack of dawn. I know I've done that many times lol.

I wonder if that's part of the reason he rarely bathes in some timelines lol. The other part maybe being executive dysfunction or a negative association with past bathing incidents like someone forcing him to bathe and being too rough with him.

(I do suspect that that, the lack of motivation, and the fact there's only like ONE bathing area in the boarding house could be why Nobotta hardly bathes unless he's made to bathe, and the landlady's attempts to make him bathe probably only exacerbates that issue long term. As for his unwillingness to wash his boxers... idk maybe that was to save money, like forgoing a trip to the laundromat in favor of buying food?... or more boxers??? As if that's cheaper somehow??? Idk, I liken Nobotta's endless buying of boxers to my doordash addiction thanks to having less energy to cook half the time lol. And the mushrooms seem to be the result of rain leaking into his closet, as moisture DOES lead to the development of mold and other fungi after a while, and you DON'T want that. Nobotta's just lucky the mushrooms that grow on his boxers are actually edible inky cap mushrooms and not something poisonous (yes, I do believe they're supposed to be based on the inky cap mushrooms Leiji found growing on one of his clothing once and fed to, iirc, the creator of Ashita no Joe?). Eating those mushrooms is still kinda cursed tho lol.)

Tell me about Chapter 4 for the WIP Title game, please 💚

Okay, Chapter 4 is the next chapter in my Lulukoko Trio Island Adventure Fic (Stranded) that I started years ago, it's sat mildly abandoned for a while just like the kids, but the other day I suddenly got some inspiration to work on again.

Chapter 4 I think is going to do the brunt of showing the kids' survival time on the island. They spend about a month on the island, waiting for a rescue, and that's a lot of time for things to go wring (and right) for a few kids who only have the vaguest idea of what they need to do to survive. Fortunately for them, there is enough food and fresh water to keep them alive, but it's certainly not an easy existence. All the while they're looking desperately for ships on the sea, trying to maintain a signal fire, and scrape together other ways of signaling they need rescue (with 2 backpacks worth of "supplies" being all they have at their disposal).

It's gonna have a lot of man vs nature going on, plus more bickering than is productive between the kids (but they're 12 and 13 and stressed AF, what else are they gonna do?)

Probably the chapter will include the episode we hear about in the game, where Iluka eats a poison mushroom and Siluka unlocks her interest in healing by managing to find the right herbs to help her get better.

And I think (depending on how long the chapter gets) it might end with things going Really downhill. It's been a while since I've played Trio but iirc the reason Ludus doesn't like sea urchins is because he stepped on one once and it made him really sick. And there's no Canon indication it also happened on the island, but it's the Perfect Place for it to have happened. Sooo...

It features such bizarre gems such as Blaine using Tentacruel as a wig and dying of poison (it says “he seems to have been very happy”), Red and Green sending out Krabby and Omanyte into a giant stew pot (“Next time mushrooms?” as Paras nervously looks on), Blaine (alive again thanks to another artist!) offering to trade his Zapdos for Red’s Pidgey because “Pidgey are delicious”, Red getting electrocuted after trying to bathe with Pikachu, Shorts Kid forcably pinning Red down and shoving shorts on him and trying to charge him for them, Red’s Nidorino and Giovanni’s Nidorina falling in love and running away together mid-battle, and Green being confused as to why his Squirtle isn’t evolving (“That’s not a Squirtle; that’s just a turtle.”)’

There were some more from this book, too. They had some really hilarious (though kind of adult) situations involving Misty and IIRC a Swimmer and an amulet coin. I’ll translate some of them when I have the patience.

It's amazing how much of a game changer Spikes and the Master Sword were for Mario Maker 2, and definitely made the longer wait for a first content update than MM1 worth it

That said, there's still some "tiny" things I want in Mario Maker 2:

1. A mountain theme so Mario World's Desert will have to be an actual desert, like this manages to annoy me so much that I don't use the Mario World style that much, why is current SMW desert more mountain than desert

2a. Toggle for fluids, as in the ability to straight up turn 'em on or off, thus letting us have a dry Forest or Castle

2b. Along with turning fluids off in the themes that have 'em, we should also be able to turn them on in some other themes, namely water or lava for Underground, water for Desert, and water for Snow [which should become reskinned lava in its Night effect, much like how Forest is now]. And also lava for Forest, which will just turn into the poison water it currently only gets at night

2c. Also, when water is turned on in the Desert theme it should turn into a Beach theme [Honestly, I'd use the NSMBU style more if this happened, because the NSMBWii beach theme slaps and iirc it was re-used in U]

3a. Some other things we should be able to toggle are Night effects. Sometimes you just want that lovely night theme without the weird jank

3b. But additionally, I feel some themes should have access to more effects [and I'm aware I've said this several times already, but seriously, Night has more potential]. Some examples would be Overworld's effect [weird enemies and items] being in Ghost House, Underground's effect [upside down] being in Sky and maybe Airship, Desert's effect [sandstorm, but could just be strong winds in other themes] being in Snow, Sky, and Airship, Snow's effect being in Underground and maybe Sky, etc.

3c. And I guess I should clarify that we should be able to toggle these extra effects on or off, and maybe keep it to a strict 1 at a time, 'cause both upside down and strong winds in Sky at once would be a bit much

4. Another thing I've said several times before: Can the Rotton Mushroom not be restricted to Overworld Night, like why is that the case to begin with, it's essentially a Poison Mushroom, that's honestly great to have

5. And another thing, why are Fire Bros locked to 3D World? Like I get wanting to show off the whole "Fireballs go through Clear Pipes" thing like how it was in actual 3D World [except yours could too in that but in MM2 they can't], but Fire Bros are easier to deal with than Hammer Bros, it'd be nice to have them in the other 4 styles

6. Can SMB3 Desert and Forest get unique music? Please? Like I don't get why SMW Forest gets a new song* but these didn't

*I know the Forest theme was introduced in Mario Maker 2, I mean in actual SMW where the forest levels just used the typical overworld song

completed 3 things in ffxv today:

1) the balouve mines menace dungeon, which for some reason has a higher recommended level than the daurell one iirc, and yet felt so much easier?? like the boss was the psychomancer whose moveset isn’t very wide/ varied and whose attacks are p easy to anticipate and dodge?? wild.

2) the o partner my partner or w/e quest with melusine or w/e. they are a snake being so does that mean they petrify, poison, and toad you? i wouldn’t know b/c my go-to camp meal for when idk what kinda boss i’ll be facing is either the 3 mushroom dish, or the mighty barramundi dish b/c i hate dealing with status ailments and don’t want to waste an accessory slot on ribbons and such -finger guns- r.i.p if they don’t deal any kind of status ailment tho oops

3) and finally, that one level 78 (i think) hunt with the big snake that i think started with an h. but that isn’t the point of interest. the point of interest is the name of the hunt. there are some choice hunt names, but ‘people-eating snake has got to go’ is by far my fav it is a -italian chef kiss- quality name
