“ oh, damn— ” eleusine didn't need to be side by side with rachel to know that she was smug on the other's behalf, it could be heard in her tone. “ that's my girl. i'll be right there, just stay put, don't go anywhere. i'll bring pain killers with me. ”

she failed to come to a point of understanding—because she doesn't understand. perhaps she was selfish, perhaps eleusine was a better, more mature person than she was because if she could spell her mother, she would. she would spell her to want to be in her life; she would spell her to love her. despite their differing opinions on this certain topic and rachel's confliction, she bestows a smile on eleusine.

“ you, miss blackstone, are the person i aspire to be. ”    says the blonde, reaching out mid sentence to boop her friend on the nose.    “ just when i think you can't possibly be anymore selfless, you go and surprise me. ”

that kid from american horror story? the chick that moved into the house he haunted? she squinted, giving the description some thought, and when she realized what he was talking about, she fell into momentary laughter. “ wait, tate and violet? you mean tate and violet? ” grinning, she shook her head. “ what do you know about american horror story? when did you watch? ”

surprise raised her brows—then excitement widened the smile that already existed. she couldn't conceal her emotions from rafe. she never could. “ really? ” she nodded eagerly. “ you think i'm going to say no to having you all to myself? ” she chuckled. “ yes. that sounds perfect. ”

"you won't move on. i'll just come back as a ghost. to either haunt whoever you might attempt to move on or have ghostly human relations with you. like that kid from american horror story with the chick that moved into the house he haunted. "

rafe means every word. rachel has seen him through a lot of dark times. from his dad's passing, through withdrawals from drugs, to struggling to make the same type of name his father had made in business. she stood by his side through it all and without her, he was sure he would have given up or snapped back into old habits. "that's my only goal in life." he tells her, another soft kiss placed to her lips. "so, i was thinking....what if i put a pause in work today? go on the boat and enjoy the rest of the day together?"

“ perhaps that was my plan all along. i can neither confirm nor deny. ” said the blonde whilst grinning at him. pink bloomed in her cheeks. damn it, since when is jj able to read her like the back of his hand? she observed, adoration clear across her face, and when he looked back to her after he was done, she made a show of clapping. “ not bad. i dig the fact that we're not so cliche now too. ”

" you sound so damn lame when you talk like that like you aren't just like me ready to fuck someone up when you have to. " He shakes his head but drops it because it's Rachel and it's like arguing with a brick wall, he does like the choice she made though! JJ & Ra. It's nice and it did rhyme !

Once she gives up he takes the knife back cackling. " Is that the real reason or are you tryna be cute carving JJ and having me do your initials. " He smirks wolfishly but approaches the tree doing a rough RA in the bark then an even rougher circle around it and finally a fuse making it a bomb.

" it's perfect ! Dontcha think? Felt like a heart wasn't really our style. "

“ no, it happened. i'm not going to deny that  …  and it might happen again, ”    shoulders rose and fell within the same moment.    “ …  but it doesn't have to mean anything, which means we can forgo the 'what are we?' talk you're trying to have with me right now. ”

"Oh, really?" A huff left him. Unlike her he thought there was plenty to talk about. "You just going to pretend nothing happened? That it?" No, he wasn't going to let it slide so easily. She wasn't the only one who could be stubborn.

“ if that's true... maybe at some point you could... give me a pointer. a lesson then a pop quiz. vamp edition. ” hopefulness in her eyes as she makes the suggestion.

she was still getting used to the change after all—and she's tired of running into doors and walls. not that katherine knows about her mishaps. or maybe she does. but hopefully she doesn't.

“ felt that ... ” rachel replied lowly. violet's parents sound like her dad, who would rather turn a blind eye to his own daughter than admit his wrongdoings and apologize. not that that would make what he did any better.

“ why? you lookin' to be my accomplice? luckily, i was thinking about putting out applications. ” she flashed the other a grin. she took a second drag of the cigarette then handed it back. “ i don't know. as long as it's a thousand miles away from here, i'll be happy. ” she says that, but once she gets to where she wants to go, it'll be a different story.

"Yeah?" Violet asked, looking to Rachel. "What would you think about having company. My parents uprooted me. I was happy where we were. They were just trying to fix things. Put a bandaid on it." She muttered.

"I don't know where I'd go. Where do you want to go? What's your dream?"

in the blink of an eye, she reached for evan's hand and laced their fingers together, then tugged him toward the dance floor, where she immediately fell into the rhythm of those surrounding them. “ i told you we'd have a blast! ” she says to him, pre-existing smile growing in width.

When the song changed it was very obvious people were liking it, given how the dance floor filled. Evan was tapping his foot to the beat as well when his gaze shifted to her at the question. "Sure." A smile spread on his features as he got up. If he ever says no to dancing, he'd have to feel really shitty.

Listening to Victoria, her face twisted in disdain—and a large reason why was because essentially, she was listening to her inner monologue and that in and of itself proved that she and Victoria weren't so different. Really, there was only one difference; Victoria was upfront about her intentions whilst Rachel preferred to keep things under everyone's radar.

“I don't feel like wasting my breath trying to get through to you, so whatever, Victoria. If you're happy doing what you're doing, who am I to stop you?”

She knows she's right whether Rachel denies it or not. They are the same in a lot of ways. " Mhm. I think you do though. "

her heart swelled as he spoke to her-and even more when he gave her a kiss she eagerly reciprocated. “ and i'm yours. ” she promised in a mumble. “ now and forever. ”

an arm hooks around her waist to hold her close. smirk firmly on his lips as he peers at his girlfriend. people could attempt to sway him but his eyes were only on her. "only yours." he repeats lowly, pressing a tender kiss to her lips. "they've got nothing i want. they aren't you. so stop worrying."

“ i do that sometimes. it's a talent. ” joked the blonde with a grin that stretched from ear to ear. “ i would love to have dinner with you... and i'm quite eager to too, so is tonight okay? ”

"No. I mean, maybe. — Oi, what am I saying? You totally threw me off stride with that comeback." She couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm concerned people have turned blind, but if it's an option to throw my hat in the ring, then you should have dinner with me."
