Waiting and Confirmation

Just to add a little drama to my life, I am technically unemployed/in between jobs while I wait for immigration to transfer my sponsorship. As irritating as the whole ordeal is, it has been pretty nice just being at home and poor. I try not to think too hard about how this will eat into my savings but being mummy and picking up the kids, making dinner; getting back to basics has been great. 

Also, I have stopped into my new employer a few times now (pretty sure the poor girl in HR hates me and will tell the CEO not to allow 457 visa holders anymore). Anyway, the last time I was there I came across a beautiful little girl. She was probably 7-8 years old and had clearly been through chemo. Her hair was just starting to grow back and her NG tube was taped to her face. She flashed me the biggest smile, which I returned automatically. I noticed she was wearing an Elsa costume over her clothes, “Is that an Elsa dress? You look beautiful!” She glowed. “Yeah, it is, thank you.” She smiled shyly and her mum was smiling, which was lovely to see. I can only imagine that it must be hard to smile sometimes. She skipped off to play with her younger sister and I waved goodbye. I haven’t even started this job yet, but I already know that I’ve made the right career choice.
