After the Yasiin Bey exhibition @brooklynmuseum we went to see the amazing exhibition by photographer and street artist @JR. Featured is this nearly life size mural where he shot over a thousand New Yorkers and interviewed all of them about living in NY. @Flutana and I listened to a few. Out of over 1,000 people in this portrait, Nicole selected two random people...the second one happened to be my boy @alanmildor!!!! Someone she's never met and never seen before!! So crazy!! What's funny is just two weeks ago we were supposed to meet Alan at the @leequinones exhibition at @james_fuentes_llc gallery but he couldn't make it. Funny how life is....Definitely recommend this exhibition...JR's work is really fascinating. #igotastorytotell so I set up this photo shoot for @ifienatasha just to do something different and to have some pics on deck in case we ever needed some for anything we were going to drop. However because administration is not my strength I dropped the ball on following up with our photographer @takiaelamb about booking the studio, time etc. So the day of Aye is pissed as soon as I come home from work to get changed. She tells me about all my flaws and so on the way to the spot we were beefing. Not talking and if it was there was an attitude. So of course this shoot is suppose to show us all in love and stuff and at the time we didn’t even want to be in the same room as each other. So here we are a couple of shots in and I say to Aye, “Oh you don’t love me no more?” Her reply, “Shut up. You get on my nerves” as she begins to crack up laughing. Moments later this picture is taken. Moral of the story. Don’t think that just because you see something in a picture that you know the whole story or have context. Some would even say don’t let the world know when things aren’t going great. It’s none of their business. I agree. However I also beilieve in being an authentic, transparent and real person. I don’t want anyone getting it confused, thinking that I, my wife not our relationship is perfect. It is far from it. Everything on this internet is not real. Most of it is a highlight reel. Only few are bold and courageous enough to let you see behind the curtains. Thank God for @tkconsultingdesign for knowing us well enough to make a tense situation an amazing experience. #mourningvibes / #igotastorytotell: As I'm sitting here going down memory lane, Moments after @lisalove_1913 told me all about how @bobbylightistrill rocked the #popupstorytime, I can't help but think about #thatonetime #MsJackie, #LisaLove1913, and I had #SundayBrunch with #MsElaine. We were sitting at Golden Corral, breaking bread, Exchanging food for thought, Talking about how well the #WesleyChapelLibrary community embraced #rhythmandrhymesstorytime, When #MissElaine exclaimed in her infamous #pealoflaughter: "Well Stevie, what's next? Tell me what #bigideas are churning in that little mind." Thinking "What could we possibly do to top #rhythmandrhymes?," I remember replying: "The month of May is #olderamericansmonth, Perhaps we shall do a #seniorsreadstorytime?"
