Like most people I think Aventurine is pretty open to a lot of things, but I think he also has a lot of hard limits and a lot of boundaries he hasn’t really thought about himself yet

Hard limits include hurting you, you hurting him, anything with leather, anything that makes either of you bleed, most types of bondage (esp handcuffs), any roleplay that put either of you in a position of authority over the other

(These are limits you discover a little into the relationship, because at the beginning, Aventurine claims he’s okay with everything and he would keep claiming that if he wasn’t in a very loving and stable relationship. He only feels comfortable establishing those boundaries when you’ve made it clear it’s safe to do so. 🙁)

Idk if you want me to go in depth about those hard limits because I have Thoughts about all of them but I’m assuming you want to get your freak on so I won’t go into too much detail about it, if anyone wants me to elaborate on it though feel free to send in an ask !!

I think a really big downside with him is he doesn’t really know himself how far these limits go and he doesn’t always communicate about it either. Like he’ll think light spanking is fine but then you’ll notice he kind of freezes up if you go for it during sex and after he’ll only admit he didn’t like it if you kind of push him to 😭

I think he’s a switch. I hate to say this because I know it plays into the fandom’s tendency of like,, further feminising and sexualising effeminate men and making them “bottoms” and all that but I do think he has a sort of sub lean. Like I think he likes having control, but with a partner he genuinely loves, he finds so much comfort in sort of just falling back and letting you take the lead. It’s a nice break because in his day-to-day life, he either needs to be in perfect control constantly or, when he does lose control, it’s never something good and/or a sort of loss of control he purposely takes to in order to punish himself (like when he gambles. Sure there’s a good chance he’ll win, but can he be sure? He’s always afraid he’ll lose. It’s ultimately out of his hands, since he doesn’t cheat). With you, he’s safe when he does it. It is not a gamble, it is not a bet. You unquestioningly just take care of him and it just feels nice. 

At the same time, I think he won’t be as eager to let you lead at the beginning of your relationship. He doesn’t fully trust you so he won’t leave himself as vulnerable to you. Again, I think he has a lot of issues with control and power so that really plays into it. 

(Please god don’t take this as me saying that Aventurine is ‘naturally submissive’ or some weird shit like that I will ACTUALLY shoot myself !!!! I will commit I’ll do it !!!!!!)

I imagine his libido is pretty low in the beginning. He’ll go whenever you want to, sure, but he doesn’t initiate a lot.

personal thought/hc and maybe it’s stupid but

the choir boys humming/singing to just themselves or the other choir boys for comfort at night… because they were scared too ! especially jack.

on jack!— i think he missed home for a lot of reasons but i believe he mostly missed the safety of it and not having to defend against (imagined and internal) threats. and having a sense of belonging/true importance (like with his role in choir!). he forcefully took that position of power on the island, but back at home it was adults and authority who had power over how others saw him so he didn’t have to fight anyone to make them see him with that sense of respect then.

bro has huge identity and validation issues… welling up and making him lash out and be aggressive because he won’t get anyone to listen to him or pay him attention otherwise due to him lacking natural charm/charisma (like ralph). i personally think he was a trouble kid at school ! he definitely got called to the dean’s office many a time for being cruel to other kids LOL. i think jack was a good kid and he has the ability to be sweet and a kind boy, but he doesn’t want to come off as that vulnerable. just because you’re nice doesn’t mean people will like you and/or respect you, you’ll get ignored just as easily as if you weren’t nice. so he’s mean. at least the kids will look at him then! and at least the adults will pay him some mind, even if it’s just for a few fleeting moments and it’s just to yell at him and tell him off.

I'm so glad you appreciated the long answers bc I'm too talkative and if you let me, I'll talk endlessly about this stuff, I actually have to look back and be like "okay, now I'm talking too much, let's stop here" 😭 but I saw that it got accidentally sent your other thoughts, so I'm going to answer both in only this post, I hope that's okay by you :D

there's some stuff in the book that makes me feel like suzanne collins is the type of writer to make the whole background story of side characters, but not show them bc they're unnecessary story wise, you can't tell me she doesn't know exactly what the hell is the plinth backstory in D2 (I think she did it but I just can't prove it....)

I hardly think her family (except, maybe, the sister that still talks to her) would take her in, imo. D2 seem like a district that it's full of proud people, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but strabo being a dick is not the worst part of this marriage: is that he betrayed the whole district. the plinths are despised back in two. I think ma's family didn't like him from the start, but he was not the worst; he was the worst when he betrayed everyone, and when she chose to not leave him, she made her choice of who her loyalty lays with. it's with him, not with them. and besides, taking back a plinth (even if it's an ex-plinth) and welcoming her in their home would definitely not be seen with good eyes.

(maybe it's a bit of self-projecting, but where I live, it's much more common for the woman to still keep in contact and close with her family, not the man; I grew up with my cousins from my mother's side and I hardly know anyone from my father's side. siding with your husband in a situation like this would be seen as a BIG offense, something that's very much unforgivable. I could see that being the case)

now, from now on, there's a lot of my personal headcanons and thoughts bc I'm OBSESSED with the plinths and their life in D2:

OKAY SO there's a very, very small and discreet line on the ma plinth study I wrote that goes like: "vesta had dreams, even if her father rolled his eyes at most of them." I actually plan to write something from strabo's pov and explore more about this, but basically, I think ma plinth had a not very good relationship with her parents, and most of all, with her father (the cycle keeps on cycling). I think her family was overprotective and she felt suffocated (I think she was the youngest, the baby sibling, and this just made everything much worse). now, I have exactly in my mind how I think they met: ma plinth went with her father to the city center, and her father was searching for a gun to buy to leave at home as a way to protect the family. the plinths didn't have an industry yet; it was little more than a small thing, where they built some modest models to sell. strabo was there. he was talking to her father, and then turned to her and asked if she would like anything. her father made a comment diminishing her, saying that she was too dense to understand about guns, and poor ma was so embarassed even though used to it because her father always do that kind of thing, but to her surprise, strabo plinth didn't laugh. he looked at her father very seriously and said that she looked smart enough to understand about it, and if someone has hands, that person can shoot well.

he was the first person to actually defend her in front of her father from these kind of "jokes" and comments. not even her sisters or her own mother had done that before, all too terrified to say something. and that was enough.

about strabo and his siblings: fucked up shit happened. let's go about my personal hcs about him and his family: he's the only son of his father and his mother, but his mother died and his father married again when he was around 5 or 6. his father and his stepmother had two other kids. he never had a good relationship with his stepmother and he resents his father very much for marrying shortly after the death of his mother (omg cinderella hiiii). strabo was the eldest, he had to basically raise his half-siblings as his father was always at their small industry and his stepmother worked for endless hours. he learned to shoot from a young age to know how to protect them. he didn't hate his half-siblings, but he was tired of having to carry all the responsability on his shoulders, especially when they still had a loving mother while he didn't. it seemed so unfair.

(the sad part is that his half-siblings did look up to him. they loved him. they saw him as an example.)

his father got sick when he was a teen and he started to work hard on their small factory. and strabo has a lot of flaws, but let me tell you something: that man works hard. he worked enough to make their small shop rather famous in D2, and worked enough to pay for everything his father needed to while sick. his half-siblings never were interested in the industry, and neither was his stepmother, so when his father died when strabo was in his late teens, he was pissed off that his stepmother wanted to inherit the factory. they never worked a single day on it while he kept it going on. his half-siblings tried to reason with him, but he was just so angry, and a lot of hurtful things were said. in the end, strabo got the factory, but he left home and never came back. he said things that were too cruel to his half-siblings, the kind of thing that they could never really forgive.

ma is very family-oriented and couldn't really understand why strabo resented his half-siblings so much (specially because she also had family issues, being close with her sisters was what kept her going on), but she tries to have empathy with it, knowing people react in different ways to different things. I can totally see her one day trying to bring the subject of in-laws and strabo just looking so annoyed and resented that she knows that there's bad blood involved.

(it's so ironic to me that she didn't understand how he was so resented with his half-siblings, but in the future, her own sisters were as resented with her)

strabo is genuinely so interesting, I really wish to know what went through his mind, or just know more from his canon backstory, what made him make the choices he made. he's ruthless and cold, he sold guns to people that hated his guts and hated where he's from. he didn't betray a single person, he betrayed his whole PEOPLE. but he seems to care about ma and sejanus to a certain level, in his twisted way. he moved to the capitol thinking about giving them a better life, and still, he's hated by his own son, the one he thought he was protecting by moving to the capitol. ouch.

omg autistic solomon so real!!! i was thinking abt this hc the other day it makes so much sense to me 😭

Right?? So many of his interactions with the brothers feel like they could take place where we’re all sitting across from each other in an ASD support group waiting for a therapist to redirect the conversation and I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is lol.

A few thoughts on autistic Solomon I’m going to put under a read more. Not because it’s particularly a lot but because there’s some spoilers for seasons 3, 4 and some of the devilgrams and text chats.

Special Interests:

-At least two of his devilgrams that I know of involve Solomon staying up all night for his research/hobbies while MC stays by his side and keeps him company. These are “Solomon the Researcher” and “Let’s Write a Novel!”

-He is very into TSL. He writes an entire fan novel for it in one night. He attends TSL conventions. He cosplays. He has excessively rare merchandise. We see Purgatory Hall text messages where he badgers Simeon into telling him what’s next for TSL to the point where Simeon has to tell him to knock it off. We see him go head to head in a TSL trivia match against Leviathan. Even Mammon, who is rarely shown interacting with Solomon, knows that it is his favorite fantasy novel series and would like a limited edition box set as a gift.

-Magic is another very obvious special interest. He dedicates a lot of time to it and is often seen researching, hunting down magical items and ingredients, attempting to forge pacts, etc. Despite being human, he’s exceptionally skilled to the point where when the demons have an issue that can’t be solved through traditional means, big or small, they go to Solomon for his expertise. Even though they are much older demons who one might assume have their own magical powers. Simeon tells us Solomon often gets carried away with researching late into the night and sleeps late into the morning. We see text messages of an instance where Luke leaves food outside Solomon’s door because he can’t be bothered to stop for dinner.

-DIAVOLO gives him explicit permission to ignore the teacher’s instructions during potion class and work on whatever he sees fit. If that isn’t an IEP, I don’t know what is!

Interactions with Others:

-His entire relationship with Thirteen. They’re just so…how do I put it…? “Autistic person unknowingly crossing boundaries until their friend is ready to strangle them.” Maybe I am projecting here, lol. He thinks they are exchanging playful banter while she is genuinely annoyed, and despite making no effort to hide this, it doesn’t seem to come across to him. I’ve seen this dynamic play out among autistic friends many times, and have embarrassingly been informed after the fact that I was involved in similar scenarios, too.

-He can’t seem to understand that people hate his cooking. In the first place, cooking for someone is a great way to show affection for someone because you don’t have to worry about your efforts backfiring and making them uncomfortable they way autistic people often do with physical affection, words of affirmation, and quality time. Who doesn’t love someone cooking for them? …Unless you cook like Solomon. We see clearly in everyone’s faces how terrified they are of his cooking. But take away the nonverbal communication. What do we hear? “I couldn’t ask you to go through such trouble.” “I had a big lunch.” “I want to leave enough for the angels.” How is he supposed to come to the conclusion that he’s a bad cook from this? It isn’t until Asmo lashes out and tells him in no uncertain terms that his food is awful that he finally gets it.

-“I don’t have anyone like that/you’re the only one who understands me.” Despite being surrounded by people who care about him, Solomon feels alone. He’s unable to connect with others the way they are with each other. He wishes he could have a connection with someone similar to what Beelzebub and Belphegor have: always looking out for each other and able to tell what the other is thinking. When MC asks if he doesn’t have someone like that he responds that maybe he did at one time, or maybe he only thought he did and it was all in his head. The fact is that there is an unbridgeable gap in understanding between Solomon and every living thing he encounters, and that saddens him. This is in no doubt at least partially due to his unique circumstances. He is living a life fundamentally different than angel, demon, reaper, or human. But I suspect there is even more to it. When he says that MC is the only one who understands him, I think the similarities run deeper than being the only humans in the Devildom.

Also, consider:

In season 4 (thank you glowsticks) Solomon mentions how lonely he is without the MC around. One of the ways you can respond to him is, “So even you feel lonely, huh?”

This is a microaggression autistic people get all the time. The implication is that we are unable to feel and show a range of human emotions. We’re seen as capable of having intense feelings about data sets and special interests and changes in our routine, but never about other people.

And Solomon sees this. His response is that hearing that hurts, and ask if we see him as some kind of cyborg. He then says that he will try do do a better job of conveying his feelings for MC in the future.

Oh if you wanna hear something about inteprations: both me and my mom thought Aisha was mixed latina and black because her hair texture doesn't have that much volume, especially next to Stormy who's hair looks far more kinky than Aisha's did. Her hair being limp and looking more curly than kinky or coily is definitely at its worst in Harmonix, which is the season I stopped watching at growing up. S6+7 are the best at giving Aisha's hair volume, which is ironic because that's when the couture art style set in, but neither me nor my mom saw that

If your wondering, its mostly the way her hair tapers off, and how it goes mostly down instead of out. It makes her hair look 3 range, which is like my mixed kid hair and less like my mother's

Something that I personally like/project on is (at least at first), Dean doing it as.. a service and Sam doing it out of lust? For Dean, kind of "straight-with-exception"/aromantic, heterosexual+sam-sexual if that makes sense 😭. He just loves Sam so much! He wants Sam to stay with him. But a key moment for me is the pilot when Dean drives away.

And Sam, well sex for me, especially in fiction, is mostly about Control. Sometimes I'll like the sweet fluffy stuff (Hath's Heaven verse is darling), but mostly I go for Wincest where Sam's general discontent being a "freak" has the added taboo of incestuous feelings for Dean. I love that Sam.. (samgirls look away) has a sort of arrogant willful blindness when it comes to things he wants/times of power. "I know demon blood is bad, but it's to stop Lilith and I can handle it", "it was just college Dean, a reasonable father would have been happy for me to go", "it's totally fine that I had sex with my dream girl on a Dream Girl Murder Case case" (he was right about Cara but that's not the point!). So with all that, I can easily imagine a young Sam that's like "fuck it, I want Dean, I want to stick it to Dad, I want to makes sense of all these nasty feelings I'm having" and thus initiates their sexual relationship. Plus he looks at Dean like he wants to eat him for a good bit of s1, so aggressor Sam just. Fits.

And then Dean, like I said. Would be willing to give Sam anything. Genuinely gets off on Sam getting off (weirdo <3), and hey he didn't expect Sam to want to use his body to do that, but what the hell? "I mean, for you or Dad, the things I'm willin' to do or kill, it's just, uh... it scares me sometimes." Great line.

One fic method is "ignorant to his own attraction to Sam" Dean. Idk how to explain this, like "hello baby brother🥰 u didnt do the dishes😠oh Sam's kissing me what wait no don't pull away ooh that feels good okok u can do this [cut to morning] ..hm. Sam's hair looks nice. [cut to Sam standing in the kitchen] his legs are gorgeous is thAT your dick sammy put on! underwear!😳"

Also Sam has a Big Dick. I don't know where that belongs in all this, just saying. And personally I like smaller-than-average!Dean but that's neither here nor there.

I also realize I could have just written a single little scene, but generally when I think "hc" I think "what TRUTH is IN canon but not explicitly shown/stated?" (example: Dean enjoys having his nipples played with. Cassie kind of does it, but it's a dark shot and he never says it's a kink of his. Still.... he likes it I Know This..)
