IGCSE
Heyy everyone
So did CIE's IGCSE and *hair flip* got an A* in all my subjects.
So yeah I'm just tryna help. Fr.
Now listen u dont need to get an A* to be happy with ur grades. If those are ur goals then u go girl. If those are not u still go girl.
But my mum always says "Always aim higher than what u can get. Then you will reach the farthest u can go. Now go make another omelette for me."
Now a major thing I would do before an exam is open a candidate response, the qp, the ms and the examiner report.
Do each question, check with the markscheme, check the candidate response and assess where u are and then the examiner report.
I love this so much: https://paper.sc/
Examiner reports are a really underrated resource and are REALLY HELPFUL.
Use the 'IGCSE' reddit and discord server
IGCSE Notes – Soumya Pandey
Here are some of the resources I used and each subject tips
Maths:
Past papers past papers past pAPERS PAST PAPERS PAST PA-
Girl i cant tell u enough
Also makes sure to learn all the calculator tricks including the linear equations one, differentiation (the only ones I can think off the top of my head)
Make sure to practice past papers have good time management. Calm down during the exam. It'll all be fine.
(trust me i went and got bangs cause i was depressed about the way i wrote the exam and here we are)
Sciences:
Use the examiner report tip. Always always use the syllabus of each subject. And ofc past papers
Skill for Science Packs - Google Drive
Bio:
Drives:
IGCSE Biology (0610) notes from MS - Google Drive
bio
Chem:
Heather Houston - YouTube
IGCSE all chemical tests - YouTube
Drives:
chm
0620 Chemistry – Google Drive
Phy:
physics resources
Business:
Bs is one of the easist subjects cause of the repeated questions and the low thresholds. If there is one subject u wanna chose for fun let it be BS or EVM
EVM:
Smallest syllabus ever
Just do past papers you'll be fine
Ik everyone says that but thats cause its true
The same advice goes to ICT. Like the practicals are the easiest shit u can think of but a big mistake that people do is forget theory.
Study for theory and u get good marks.
English (1st language) :
My fav subject in IGCSE
It was sooo good
Always choose descriptive its just easier to score in
Go read books from good authors like Madelline Miller, Katherine Arden, and Ocean Vuong. Get phrases that u really like and copy them into a word document. Go through it before the exam and use it in the writing
You can also use: https://www.descriptionari.com/
Examiners' Secrets: Descriptive Writing (Mr Salles) - YouTube
Paper 1 video
---------
AND THATS ALL
To everyone doing their GCSE's
All the best
Just remember that it isnt everything. Year 10 and 11 is all about finding urself and having the time of ur life. I sure as hell did. And at the end of the day these results dont matter half as much as u think. Its not that they're not important. Its just that there are more important things in the world.
Go live ur best life before the A level train hits.

Oops I forgot to update yesterday lol, it's only been 4days and I'm already lacking in consistency *sighs*
3/30 dop~19/6/22
Sundays mean more work soo did that yesterday, studied electrical physics and practised some model qs from a past paper(it was fairly ok) took a break and started a new book! (I was born for this by Alice Roseman) oh and also went to H&M coz there was a sale and bought a few things( 2 shirts for 20bucks lol) deep cleaned my room and did some flashcards on bio after that.

4/30 dop~20/6/22
It's already 20 June? This yr is honestly passing so fast. Slept in a bit today and was almost late for class lmao but made it. Since I'm writing my Igcse next yr, my skl decided to CANCEL our summer break. Welp. Pushed through 7hrs of skl and thankfully did everything that was on my schedule. Worked out some algebra qs and did this inorganic chem tutorial( didn't have the brainpower to do org chem) and also submitted our Stem presentation hopefully we get a good grade on that. Did more bio flashcards and finished off all my incomplete phy notes! The weather in SG has been acting up lately:/ it's supposed to be summer but it's been raining all day? Anyway wishing everyone a productive week!:D

list of the 4 best study tips that helped me pass ib:
this is just in my experience!!!
number 1 study tip: PAST. PAPERS.
honestly, i cannot stress enough that past papers are the best way to study. you need to know WHAT the examiners are looking for. read through the mark schemes, highlight the key terms that pop out - these are what the examiners are looking for and where you will get the marks. if u have multi-choice papers, do as many as you can as they tend to repeat the structure of the papers.
if u do math or chemistry - do past papers. these subjects are very math/calculation orientated, so you need to practice as much as you can (i think this is where my study lacked in chem/math and i got my lowest grades in those subjects so). you can find all the past papers online!!!!
number 2: whiteboards!!
use the ones you have at school!!! use cute whiteboard pens or whatever works, honestly, whiteboards are absolute saviors, you can write down all your knowledge- rub it out - and repeat!!!! you can write down maths equations, solve them and rub them out!!! such a good tool imo.
number 3: youtube videos
if you have useless teachers in subjects like i did, youtube will be your savior. whatever course ur doing, if its ib, a levels, igcse or o levels, there's sure to be teachers or tutors who are posting their content on youtube. just search ur subject and they'll be so much information online. crash course is also handy for getting a basic knowledge of your subjects too!!
number 4: rote learning
i hate rote learning. but it helps soooo much. rote learning is basically writing down the same thing over and over until it gets stuck in ur brain. i used it for chemistry equations and biology diagrams, and it helped so much!!! just try it out (use the whiteboard!!!)
in summary:
1. past papers
2. whiteboards
3. youtube videos
4. rote learning

hello! do you have tips for IGCSE english, math and science?
Hi! As you may know, I recently answered asimilar question regarding IGCSEs, and here is the link if you want to check itout! https://sweaters-tea-studying.tumblr.com/post/164177940888/hey-there-just-wanted-to-say-that-i-love-your
For English, Maths, and Science inspecific, though, here are my tips.
English: For this, reading is very important. English is a very easy subject for me,because I’m fluent in it and I read and write a lot. Try to read some books so thatyou get a very good variety of the ways you can word sentences without comingoff as repetitive. Make sure to practice doing the papers in a specific timeslot. Set a timer, use or phone, and then equip the time wisely. Figure outwhich parts you take longest at, and strategize how to use your time.
Math:For Math you have got to do past years! Keep doingthem. The format for the actual exam is going to the same, just differentnumbers. General mathematics will be okay, additional math is tricky—but pleasefocus on both (if you are taking both!) Practice is so important when it comesto math. Like I said in the previous ask, I got 11/100 during my trials inabout July, and then for my Oct/Nov actual IGCSE, I got an A! Take it from me—practice, practice, practice. Got questions? Ask your seniors, go online, watch videos. Don’tjust do the past years, consult marking scheme, understand what went wrong, applaud yourself for the ones you get correct. Give yourself a cookie. Cannotstress past years enough. P.s., something else I did was note down all the topicscoming out and highlighted ones I were confident in, half-highlighted uncertainones, and then blanked the ones I had no clue over. Work on the blank onesmost, half-highlighted second, highlighted last. If you are even a teeny bituncertain about a topic, half-highlight it.
Science:I actually didn’t taking science, I took pure sciencesaka Bio, Chem, Physics, but I think the strategy is about the same. Forscience, you really have to understand what you’re doing, especially for me. I’mnot good at memorizing, which was why I was wary of bio, because everyone isalways “just memorize!!1!” and I’m like “no!”. I love physics because I relatethem to our daily lives and what not, and then chem is interesting too, and bio…I’ll give bio credit, it’s good to know your body. But anyways, point is, mytip is to understand what the heck you’re studying.
Hope these help
