I shall title this one, 'When does your album drop, Alayna?!' . 🎶🎤 . I don't filter my pics but I sometimes get creative with the contrast, lighting, cropping, hashtags and most of all: P E R S P E C T I V E. . <<<the angles in which we see things>>> . REAL TALK: I think I had lost her and had been trying to recover my inner writer, my artist self, my fun self, my humanitarian self, my wellness in general. . My self-loving self, my inspired positivity and the usual giggly-'I.love.my.life' self...it hasn't been easy since moving from the Big Apple to essentially another country. . Sometimes having mental health struggles while being in service to the general public and having to be "on stage" everyday as hairstylist isn't easy. Still I get up and intend to be selfless, a better listener and creative. I aim to be an authentic, fearless, giving & leading woman. Some days are way harder than others, yet tomorrow is a promise to no one, so I give it a go. . The thing is, the real relationships with you hold that beautiful space and allow imperfections. So I thank you for that. It's truly amazing to be myself and to be understood and loved. I see you all right back. You let me see you and bring out the best in you when you have me do your hair with excitement, patience and trust. It's really cool, you guys! . Moving west, I totally didn't see it coming. There was a calm before the storm but I didn't feel that I would suddenly forget who the heck I once believed I was and that my relationships with all of you as well as art we make together would help me remember again. Thank you if you're still reading & tenfold thanks for accepting me for who I am. REAL TALK: for months I have been trying to recover my inner writer, my artist self, my fun self, my humanitarian self. Step by step, a wholehearted recovery of my wellness in general. . My self-loving self, my inspired positivity and the usual giggly-'I.love.my.life' self. It hasn't been easy since electively moving across the country. How poignant to actually CHOOSE to adapt to a different way of... everything. So vulnerable to break all of those comfort zones and let oneself (gasp!) risk failure. . Every human has challenges. My mental health challenges while being in service to the general public and having to be "on stage" everyday as a hairstylist isn't easy. Still I get up and intend to be selfless, a better listener and creative. I aim to be an authentic, fearless, giving & leading woman. Some days are way harder than others, yet tomorrow is a promise to no one, so I give it a go. . The thing is, the REALationships with the people in my life holds beautiful space for even our imperfections. Thank you for that. It's truly amazing to be myself and to be understood and loved.
