New Things and Misunderstandings - Naruto Omegas x Alpha!reader
A/N: Happy birthday @omeganronpa !!!! I can't write more because ow, but yay, it's your birthday! I don't know what this post is, I just picked a few of your favs and wrote about misunderstandings lol, but I hope you like it anyway lmaoooo ❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍
Warnings: Just some innuendo lol. And me thinking I'm funny, that needs a warning.
Naruto
*Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto having a drink together*
Sakura: It's your birthday soon, right Naruto? Do you have anything special planned?
Naruto: Uh, not much. Work is crazy, y'know?
Sakura: Ugh, you don't have to tell me. I haven't got my birthday off from the hospital in four years.
Naruto: Yeah, it sucks. I'll probably just spend the evening at home with my alpha. I was thinking of asking for a quickie or something.
Sasuke: *grimacing* Tmi, dobe.
Naruto: What? I've never had one before, so I thought it'd be cool to try.
Sakura: Naruto! No one wants to hear this.
Naruto: Why? You don't like quickies? I always thought they looked tasty. I mean, they aren't ramen of course, but I always get birthday ramen from Ichiraku, so I can't ask my alpha to make it.
Saskue: ...
Sakura: Naruto, spell quickie.
Naruto: Um, okay? I think it's Q-U-I-CH-E.
Sasuke: 🙄
Sakura: 😠
Shikamaru
Alpha: *in the middle of a chat with Kiba* -and Shikaku was so hot yesterday, it's kind of crazy, y'know.
*Shikamaru suddenly walks in, home from work, overhearing*
Shikamaru: What 😐
Alpha: Shika! You're home!
Shikamaru: What 😐
Alpha: We were just talking about how the aircon has given up in the jounin headquarters. You must have heard about it. The common room wasn't too bad once everyone opened the windows, but I was just saying that your father was suffering a lot in his small office.
Shikamaru: *visibly relaxing* Oh, I see. Yes, for once I've been grateful that Naruto keeps me in Hokage tower most of the time.
Alpha: Yeah, I bet!
Shikamaru: Okay, I'm going to take a shower upstairs, I'll be back in a bit. *Shikamaru leaves*
Kiba: ...
Alpha: ...
Kiba: Good save.
Alpha: Thanks 😅
Lee
Lee: *sighs sadly*
Alpha: You okay, baby?
Lee: I... Do you think I'm intimidating? To our fellow Konoha shinobi I mean.
Alpha: I mean, I would hope that they have a healthy respect for your abilities, but I don't think people find you unapproachable. Why do you ask? Did something happen?
Lee: I overheard some people talking in the jounin common room. They were saying that they could suffocate in my thighs... But I would never hurt them like that, even in a spar. Do you think they're... afraid of me? 🥺
Alpha: ...
Lee: ...
Alpha: Oh, baby, no.
Shino
Shino: *visibly relieved* Alpha, you're back from your mission!
Alpha: Yes... Is everything okay?
Shino: No... it's Shihori. I'm... I'm worried about her, but I didn't know what to do and you were away and I was scared I'd make it worse so-
Alpha: Woah, slow down. What happened? Is she okay?
Shino: She's... been drawing things. Horrible things. I don't know where she's getting it from, I didn't want to ask in case I made it worse! What do we do??
Alpha: Deep breaths, what sort of things has she been drawing?
*Shino anxiously opens a drawer and pulls out a stack of drawings. They depict large, scary creatures. A brown bear, a purple rabbit, and a yellow chicken. You immediately remember hearing your fellow parent shinobi complain about the latest horror video game trend that became popular with children*
Alpha: Ah. It's Freddy.
Shihori: *overhearing from the living room* YOU KNOW FREDDY, APPA?!?!
Alpha: Of course. And Bonnie. And Chica.
Shihori: 🤩🤩
Shino: 😧
Itachi
Alpha: Oh, hey, you're back from reconnaissance. Did you catch them doing anything suspicious? Pein seemed really sure there were our guys.
Itachi: No. Unfortunately, they both kept entirely normal schedules for the day, as far as I could tell.
Alpha: Damn. So we came all the way out here for nothing?
Itachi: Not quite. While their conversation was mundane, I believe they may have been using a code.
Alpha: Seriously?
Itachi: Indeed. They mentioned at one point that their compatriots had been 'sixty-nining' each other. I believe that might have been code, although I am not sure of it's meaning.
Alpha: ...
Itachi: What?
Alpha: ...
Itachi: You recognise the code?
Alpha: *suddenly remembering that Itachi had no friends as a teenager and parents that taught him how to dismember people instead of teaching him anything about sex*
Alpha: ...I'll explain on the way back 🫠

Part I ::: Dad's Best Friend, Reiner
Part II
Yep. I'm pumping out more Reiner stuff. Yesterday (Nov. 6) was my birthday and I couldn't get enough of the man. So I started writing again today and he was just wrecking my brain. STILL proofing. My laptop went a little haywire. This will be straightened out by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your patience ♡.
ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○
This will be in 2 parts. I'll attach links as I post and finish them up.
ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○
Warnings ::: Flirting with your dad's friend, older man kink (newly discovered, kinda?), accidental exhibitionism, accidental voyeurism, accidental kiss, erection. Implied plus size//chubby reader The good stuff (HA, listen to me) will be in the second part. That's already almost done. I'll probably post that tomorrow morning or afternoon. Enjoy!!

Part I WC ::: 2,557
It was Thanksgiving break and you were heading home from college. It's always been a big deal with your family to have everyone over to their home and have them leave well-fed.
Well, it was, anyway. Since your mom left last year, it's fallen entirely on your dad's shoulders.
But this was his time to shine. His time to show you and everyone else that he could go above and beyond the regular turkey dinner. You were a little nervous about it. He didn't exactly have the best track record when it came to cooking turkey. But you'd be here to help him out however he needed.
You and your dad's best friend, Reiner. There wasn't a holiday that he hadn't been around. In fact, there weren't any special events that you couldn't remember him being at. He was sort of like a second dad to you. If you had to put a label on it, that's probably what it'd be.
It's been over 4 months since you'd last seen him. You were both at your dad's house on the 4th of July. You stopped by to have a quick burger before you went back to your dorm room. All you remember is that his best friend was really, really drunk, and really happy to see you.
You called your dad as you hit a red light.
"Yell-o?" The voice at the other end of the call said.
"Hi, dad. I'm on my way. I'll be there in less than 30. Do you have everything you need for the great cook-off? Let me know, I'll call when I get clo--"
"Hey! Hey, y/n. It's Reiner, your dad's --"
"Oh! Hi, um, Reiner. My dad's ... best ... friend. W-where is he at?"
"He had to run to the store to pick up a few last minute things. But he'll be back. Either before you're here or right around the same time. S' I guess, just keep coming, uh, home. I'll be here. We'll be here, I meant. See you soon, sweetheart." He said before hanging up. "Y-yeah, ok. Rei-, um, ok. Bye, see you soon."
You suddenly felt really hot in the face. Was his voice always that provocative? Did it always sound like that when you talked to him on the phone? So deep and alluring? Snapping your head from your daydream as the car behind you honked at the green light you were mindlessly sitting through, you drove on to your childhood home. Not sure what you're in for when you get there. But feeling a little giddy about it, all the same.
Pulling into the driveway, you didn't see your dad's truck. But you saw Reiner's. It wasn't huge, but it took up over half of the drive. You loved the color; a deep blue. So dark you couldn't really see your reflection on the side of it. It was nice.
"Hello? I'm here. Dad? Are you home ye--" you called out to your dad. But he wasn't there. It was just his friend, still. Just you and his friend.
"Hey, sweetheart! Welcome home! S'good to see you, baby girl!" Reiner came to you with open arms. You looked at him. He wore a nicely fitting light blue button-up shirt. It was accentuating his very large, muscular arms. Shit, did he always look like this? His hair was a little longer than you remember it being. But it was slicked back as much as he could get it. It was in that awkward phase between too short to get it to do what he wanted and should he get a haircut. You thought it looked fantastic. Even the little bits that hung down against his forehead.
You let yourself be wrapped up in his arms as he pulled you into a close, tight, and very warm embrace. His body was so hard and so soft, simultaneously. It made your head spin.
A little while later you realized he'd already let go but you hadn't, so he kept hugging you until you were ready for him to loosen his arms. He chalked it up to you missing him or missing your dad after being gone from the house for school.
"You ok, sweetheart? *Heh* I don't remember you ever letting me hug you like this. But that's ok. I don't mind. I'm happy to fill in for any dad energy--"
Dad energy? No. No no no no no. You thought. This had nothing to do with 'dad energy'. Maybe 'daddy energy'.
"Not 'dad', god. I just ... s'just, well, guess I missed you. Dad energy. God." You laughed. He leaned down and brushed your hair from your face and kissed you on the cheek. Twice. You hoped he wouldn't notice how your heartbeat quickened. Or your breath got caught in your throat. Or how your face turned a deep shade of pink.
"You good, baby girl?" Nodding you put your hands up on his pecs and it took every ounce of will power to push him away from you. All you wanted to do was drop to your knees and lick his stomach. Just for starters.
"Hello? I see my daughter's car in the driveway! Where is she?" Reiner dropped his arms and let his hands glide down from the curves in your waist and turned quickly. You saw him start to adjust something, but your dad's voice drew your attention away from his best friend tucking his cock away.
"Dad! Hi! Happy Thanksgiving, pops. Thank you for doing all of this."
He hugged you and kissed the top of your head. "Well, I wouldn't be doin' this if it wasn't for my dumbass friend over there. He insisted that I do this. Y'know, to keep things 'normal' and to entice you to come home for a nice meal."
You looked at Reiner. He shrugged his broad shoulders. Fuck, how had you not noticed how hot he was before today?
"Well, thank you. Both of you. I can't wait to get started on everything. Are you working over the break?" Your dad was a veterinarian and often the one who was on call over holidays. Even on his vacations he'd still find the time to work for his patients. He was just that kind of person. You always admired it about him.
Your dad sighed. "I think you already know the answer to that, baby girl." Reiner's head whipped around at the sound of your dad calling you what he had called you minutes before. Maybe he should lay off.
But your dad called you that. Reiner has been practically a part of the family for over 25 years. He decided to try it out in front of your dad to gauge his reaction to the pet name. He'd go from there. It just had to be the right time.
"Don't worry, though. I sent home fliers about all the foods animals should stay away from over Thanksgiving. And how they shouldn't have bones that can get lodged in their throats."
Reiner choked on his beer. "Shit, shit. Sorry, {Dad’s name}. I ... *aheh*, shit. Never mind. Sorry." You and your dad stood there looking at Reiner, puzzled. You knew what he was choked up about. But your dad was most likely clueless. And that's probably better for everyone.
It was around 8pm and your dad and Reiner were watching football and reliving their high school days. Reliving their game nights when they were in (what they felt like) was the prime of their lives. Reiner jumped up from the second recliner that your dad moved in for him after your mom left. "Go. Go. Go go go go go go!!! YES!! Whooo! Fuck, I love this team." His honey-colored eyes met yours and you couldn't help but get all bubbly in your tummy at the slight squint as he smiled so widely. He genuinely looked the happiest you've ever seen him. And for some freaky reason, that made you happy, too.
"I'm going to grab a shower and go to bed. Can I bring you guys another beer or anything?" You asked, still maintaining eye contact with Reiner.
He shook his head, "'S fine ..." Now! He thought. Now is the perfect time to test out calling you baby girl in front of your dad! "Think I'm done for the night, baby girl." He waited for the ramification of calling you such an intimate thing. But it never came. Your dad just followed suit, "Yeah, I'm 'bout to turn in too, sweetheart." You nodded with heavy lids at Reiner and rubbed your thighs together the whole way as you walked to your room.
Sitting on your bed for a minute, you did your best to compose yourself after that pithy exchange between the two of you. If you could even call it an exchange. All he did was look at you while you asked if they wanted anything before you went to get cleaned up and tucked in for the night.
Maybe it was the way he hung on to the gaze. How he lured you in to maintaining the shared glance. No, it was more than a glance.
You stood inside of your room, feeling no relief whatsoever, and pulled your t-shirt over your head and tossed it on the chair. Unhooking your bra, the little clasp in the front separated without much effort.
All you could think about was Reiner's hands on you. How would he take your bra off? Would he do it slowly and make you wait as he teased you? Would he be frantic and grab and pull it off?
"Fuck. I, I gotta stop. Gotta get a grip on this shit. Goin' to drive myself nuts." Slipping your jeans and panties off in one motion, you kicked them aside and left them on the floor by the standing mirror near your desk. There was a small wet spot on your panties that could only be from one thing: Reiner.
Looking around your room for your bathrobe, you remember that you saw it hanging in the bathroom down the hall. "Sh- shit. Ok, g'na make a run for it. I'm just going to run for it. They're both in the living room watching football. I can do this." You bounced on your toes a couple of times to hype yourself up for the mad dash you were preparing to make. Slowly, you opened your door and stuck your head out to survey your surroundings.
"H-hello?" You whispered, testing the population. "Ok, 'm gonna ... gonna go ..."
From out of nowhere, Reiner's face popped into yours as you stood there, naked as the day you came into this world. Oh, how he tried to not let his eyes wander from your blushing face down the front of your body. But he couldn't. He couldn't make himself look away. He was hypnotized by your curves. How your thighs nestled together. Your soft stomach. The soft, silvery glow of light stretch marks.
"F-fuck, sorry! I'm so sorry!" He shouted. "I came to tell you that your dad had to go out on an emergency call for someone's horse. Broke its leg or somethin'. Sssshhhhit. I'm sorry. I'll go now that you know where he's going to be."
He was so flustered he couldn't bring his eyes around to yours. He just stared awkwardly at the floor, hoping you wouldn't see how hard he'd gotten over something so simple and awkward as bumping into you at your bedroom door that you were about to make a break from. Granted, you were naked.
"Oh god, Rei-ner! Oh my god!" You yelled back. But it was more out of sheer surprise than embarrassment. Ever since he answered your dad's house phone today, you couldn't get his voice out of your head. And when he hugged you, it was impossible to forget what his arms and hands felt like on you. There’s a 99.9999999% chance you’ll never forget how he smells. But you couldn't really act like you enjoyed exposing yourself to him. Could you?
Reiner finally found his footing and looked you in the eye. He saw your eyes and felt bad that he made you feel uncomfortable. But he couldn't help but notice how your nipples pebbled in the cold air. How they were a lighter shade of pink than he expected. He just wanted to cup them in his hands and roll them between his fingers. Fuck.
"I-I'm sorry. I thought you and my dad were still in the living room watching tv. I - ugh. Fuck." You turned back and grabbed your throw that lay across the foot of your bed and wrapped yourself up in it. You couldn't get away from him fast enough, but he stood right in the doorway.
"S'ok, sweetheart. It's alright. I just came to let you know that your dad's gone and that I'll be here. Least until he gets back tonight. Just lettin' ya know." He smiled his dazzling smile and you felt your heart skip a beat. "I can come back later and ... and ... you can leave your door open." He stuttered out, not entirely sure what he was suggesting. "You can leave it open while you're getting dressed or whatever. So you don't have to worry about me barging in again."
You nodded, "O-ok? That sounds good, Reiner." You whispered, holding the throw clutched to your chest, you managed to look up at him.
"So, are we in agreement that your dad doesn't have to know anything about this?" Reiner asked and you laughed. "Yes, oh my god, that would be mortifying. Let's just keep it between the two of us."
"Ok, sweetheart. Can do." He leaned down and let his lips sit on your left cheek for far longer than a simple smooch should have lasted. As he was pulling back, you turned your face and looked up at him. What you didn't know was he was going to do the same thing to your other cheek and your lips met with his.
They were so soft and warm. You weren't expecting to actually kiss him when you did this. You were going to say goodnight and slip passed him down the hallway. But instead, you just stood there. Initially wide-eyed, your mouth puckered out slightly. When did that happen? When did you push your lips out to meet his?
Reiner stepped back slightly. He didn't look like he was in as much shock as you. But he had a stupid half-grin on his face where your lips had just been. Like his little scheme had panned out perfectly. You couldn't believe you'd just kissed Reiner. Your dad's best friend. He was practically family. Even if it wasn't on purpose.
You both stood there for a moment longer. You couldn't believe how amazing it felt to kiss him. His lips were so sweet and perfect. But you knew it couldn't go any further. Your dad would lose his shit. And Reiner was his best friend. And he was old. Well, not old. But older.
"I, um, I'm going to hop in the shower." You said, quietly. "Yeah, yeah, I'll leave you to it. Sorry, baby girl." He turned on his heel and walked back down the hall.
He didn't sound like he was sorry. He sounded excited. Like he was about to win some kind of prize.
And that prize?
Was you.

Knd x AWISC au part 9.
(It was Friday, September seventh, Benedict heads downstairs after getting dressed to have breakfast.)
Benedict: Morning mom and Monty.
Monty: Morning, brother.
Mariana: Good morning, my little lamb pup, and might I say, you seem to be in a much better mood than yesterday morning.
Benedict: Yeah, my nightmare wasn't as bad as the nightmare I had Wensday night, in fact, I can't really consider it a nightmare.
Mariana: That's good to hear.
Monty: So what do you want for breakfast, we have yogurt, cereal, toast, muffins, and oatmeal.
Benedict: I think I'll have toast.
Monty: Alright, and do you want anything on your toast?
Benedict: I'd like peanut butter and bananas on my toast please.
Monty: Peanut butter and bananas it is.
Benedict in thought: (I watched Monty put two slices of bread into the toaster, when the bread popped out as toast, he put more peanut butter on the toast than bananas, the fact that he remembers that I would always want more peanut butter than bananas on my toast warms my heart.)
Monty: Here you go, peanut butter and banana toast.
Benedict: Thanks, Monty.
Monty: You're welcome, Benedict.
(They have breakfast, brush their wool and teeth, pack their thungs, and get in the car with mom.)
Mariana: So, are you to excited to go to Carter's house tomorrow?
Benedict: I sure am.
Monty: I'm excited as well.
Mariana: I'm glad you two are looking forward to something outside of school, it's been a while since you boys went somewhere other than school and home after school became so busy for both of you.
Benedict: We went to the aquarium for our birthday a few months ago, mom.
Mariana: I know, but it feels like a long time ago...Oh look, we're here.
(The two boys say goodbye to their mom and enter the school, they see Rachel talking to Helen.)
Monty: Oh hey, Rachel, I see you've met Helen.
Rachel: I have, Helen and I both go to music club.
Helen: We have so much in common, we both have a huge love of indie folk, our favorite instrument is the guitar, and we are huge fans of Seafret.
Rachel: I'm so glad to have someone like Helen in my life.
Benedict: Um, Helen?
Helen: Yeah, Benedict?
Benedict: I'd like to apologize for constantly being distrustful towards you, I let my desire to keep Linda safe get in the way of truly being friends with you.
Helen: I accept your apology.
Benedict: Thank you.
Helen: You're welcome.
Benedict: I better get to class, see you later, Helen, Monty, and Rachel.
Rachel: Bye, Benedict.
Monty: Goodbye, brother.
Helen: See you later, Ben.

Modern Art
tasm!peter x fem!reader
summary: inspired by Reckless by Madison Beer and All Too Well. Angst because all of us have pain kink (yes I'm looking at you.) requested by @buckyjbarneswhore | masterlist
Peter had fallen in love with you even before asking you out. It wasn't much of a surprise, that boy was always a hopeless romantic.
He loved the way you laughed, loved how he made you laugh. He loved how you hummed the songs he never understood, your voice, your kindness, how you doodled nonsense on his papers, how you hugged Aunt May whenever you saw her — he loved anything and everything about you.
Then one day, he went to Oscorp. You knew he saw something there, but he wasn't keen on saying what it was.
That was the first secret he hid from you.
You thought you were imagining things. Sure, he didn't spend much time with you anymore, but he was busy. You told yourself he was busy even though the two of you had the same classes and the same workload.
You ignored the feeling at the back of your head, the one that told you to be careful.
————
"Hey, we're going to a party tonight. Wanna come?" Aimee asked, smiling wide. "Trick question. You have to."
"Then I guess I'll be there." You returned a smile, knowing you didn't need much persuasion anyway. You didn't have much work and anything's better than sitting around doing nothing.
"I need to do a beer count. Is Peter going to be there?" she asked, taking out the little pink notebook she carried around. You had gifted it to her on her birthday and she hasn't parted with it since.
"He's uh, busy." You were suddenly interested in the book in front of you.
"Oh man, you're dating Peter Parker?" One of your other friends, Mark, looked up from whatever he was reading.
"Yeah, why?"
"No reason. He's a chill dude. Saw him yesterday. He bought me coffee at Helsey's after I was drunk off my ass," Mark said, laughing. "Owes me skateboard lessons too."
"Wait, wait," you sat up straighter. "Helsey's cafe is near your house."
"Of course it is."
"Your house is nowhere near the public library."
"Okay...?"
"Peter said he was at the library," you said, sounding worried. "He said he had a personal project or something."
"Why would he lie?" Aimee asked, closing the pink notebook.
"C'mon guys, you're overthinking this," Mark interrupted swiftly. "In fact, I'm pretty sure his friend mentioned something about going to the library too!"
"His friend? He was with someone?" you asked, trying to sound casual.
"Yeah, Gwen Stacy."
————
"I'm thinking we should go to that little restaurant they opened up?" Peter asked, handing over the flowers he had hurriedly bought on his way over. "Sort of as an apology for my absence the whole week?"
"I'm not feeling good. I'd rather stay inside," you said, hoping you sounded normal. You put the flowers in an empty vase and threw the bag into the bed, then opened your laptop.
Peter frowned. He had off days too, when he wanted nothing more than to disconnect from the entire world for a while, but your demeanor said something was wrong.
You running through whatever you're looking for on the laptop and ignoring your boyfriend standing awkwardly near the door was the closest thing you had done to giving him the cold shoulder.
"Are you mad at me?" he asked, sitting down on your bed.
You laughed forcefully. "Don't be ridiculous, Peter. Why would I be mad at you?"
"I mean, if you are- that's totally justified. I know I wasn't the most attentive guy last week. I blame it on my project—"
"Speaking of," you interrupted cheerfully, slamming the laptop shut and turning to him. "What's this project about?"
He was taken back. "Uhm, arachnology."
"Arachnology?"
"Yes?"
"That sounds like a question."
"I mean, yes. Definitely," he said, nodding. "I'm researching on arachnology. Why the sudden interest?"
"I feel bad for not knowing what's going on in your life." You replied, waving it off.
You had hoped he was a better liar, just so you could comfort yourself that it was all okay like your rose-colored glasses made it out to be. Apparently not.
"I appreciate that." Peter held your gaze, both of you knowing there was something more. Something he wasn't saying.
"Are you doing the research with Gwen Stacy?" The question had slipped off your mouth before you could think about it. He seemed even more surprised.
"Why would I study spiders with Gwen?" he laughed, not meeting your eyes.
The way her name fell from his lips said he knew her, and the affection behind it said he was fond of her. You bit down your lips and told yourself that you were being crazy. Friends care for each other, and you needn't worry about that.
If there was something going on, Peter's not the type to hide it. Then again, you thought he wasn't the type to lie at all, but isn't that what he just did?
————
The story wrote itself from there. So now here you are, alone at your birthday party, having everyone around you but him. You were pretty sure he had forgotten about it altogether.
When everyone left for home, you went to your room and swallowed the resentment. It felt like a statement on his part. He used to write little notes for you during class, with small lines that made you smile even though they were sappy. He said he'll never hurt you, but here you are, close to tears on your own birthday.
There was a knock on the window.
You didn't need to turn to know it was him.
"Hey, I got us pizzas!" he said energetically, then noticed your red gown, the slumped shoulders, the irregular breaths. "Y/N...?"
You turned around, wiping the first tear that had shamelessly slid down your face. The last thing you wanted to do was look broken in front of the man who broke you.
He took in your makeup, or rather the smudged edges of it. You looked so utterly strong yet cautious, as if you had just built a brick wall over your emotions.
"Oh!" he connected the dots, leaving the pizza on the bedside. "Your birthday- holy shit, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry—"
"Where were you?" you asked calmly.
He blanked. What was he supposed to say now? That he was so consumed with a bogus research that he forgot his girlfriend's birthday? Or the truth? Both would hurt the same.
"Gwen Stacy," you said the name slowly. "Why did you tell me you don't know her?"
He took a deep breath in. "I didn't say that. I just didn't tell you she was just doing the research with me—"
"If that was the case, why did you lie?"
"I thought you wouldn't understand! If I told you I had something super important to research with another girl, especially my childhood crush, don't tell me you wouldn't have gotten jealous!"
"Fuck you, Parker," your voice rose louder. "You know I'm not that type of overprotective partner. You know you could have just told me. But you didn't. Why?"
"There's a lot of compli—"
"Why?" The word ricocheted off the walls, making Peter almost take a step back.
"Did you cheat on me?" you whispered, biting down your lips so you wouldn't yell again.
"No," he shook his head far too quickly. Yet he looked guilty. You quickly connected the dots.
"Are you in love with her anyway?"
Peter's face fell. "I didn't plan to."
Tears freely started to fall now, but you didn't care. You took a deep breath in.
"You could have told me that from the start."
"I love her now but I loved you first," he said defensively. "I did. But then I was spending more time with Gwen and somewhere along the way, it just happened. I never wanted to hurt you, but would you really blame me for loving someone?"
"You're honestly asking me that?" you asked, your voice shaking. "All I did was love someone and where did that get me?"
"You don't understand—"
"What the fuck don't I understand?"
"I'm Spiderman!" He interrupted, raising his hands in surrender. He began rambling even without seeing your reaction. "Gwen works at Oscorp. She helped me. I knew you wouldn't have approved if I told you I was fighting for my life everyday. Not like she does."
You understood why he was saying that. Peter Parker was in his core, nothing if not kind. He didn't want to deal with how he hurt someone, so he threw a half-assed excuse at your face, hoping you'd agree and let him go. He didn't need your pain on his conscience so he resorted to wallowing through excuses.
Steady breaths, that's what he used to say when you were having a bad day. Steady breaths and a steady mind. Can't be all bad, right? I'm here. And I'm not going anywhere.
Despite everything, you smiled. Steady breaths it is.
"I knew you were Spiderman, I knew it from the start," you said, almost amused.
He blinked, surprised yet again. Maybe he was more stupid than he gave himself credit for. After all, you were his girlfriend. If there was someone in the world who could figure it out, who else would it be if not you?
"You wouldn't have loved me anymore," he finished his ranting, desperately hopeless. "No matter what you say now, you wouldn't have!"
"I would have loved you any way you wanted me to."
He opened his mouth to say something, closed it again, realizing he had just run out of excuses. Nothing to give, nothing that you'll ever trust again.
"I'm sorry," he said, genuinely meaning it. "I'm so fucking sorry that I hurt you. You are a good person and—"
"Get out."
"Let me just-"
"Get the hell out!" you pointed to the window.
He didn't want to cause any more of a mess, so he did as you asked, though hesitant as ever.
And as he climbed that window down one last time, you looked at the vase in the corner, the one which had the flowers he bought for you; all of them completely wilted now.

Cravings || One
Pairing: Vampire! Hongjoong x Reader
Warning: None Yet
Word Count: 3.1k
A/N: If you would like to be tagged, let me know!
"Babe, hey babe." Your boyfriend, Chad calls out to you, as you're sitting at the kitchen table, running over over bills again and trying to figure out how the fuck you're going to try to pay everything. You worked damn hard, and barely had anything to show for it. Ever since Chad had moved in a few months ago, without an invitation, you were stressed. Everything had gone up and doubled since he hadn't left, and he also hadn't contributed anything financially towards the household. You paid for rent, utilities, groceries and you even paid when the two of you went out for dinner. Chad worked full time, but where his money was going, you had no fucking idea. He constantly went out with his 'boys' , often coming home obliterated, and just expecting you to have your legs spread open for him when he rolled in, apparently that was your duty as his girlfriend, according to him. As if not contributing and acting like a man child was such a turn on. Not to mention the countless hours he spent on your gaming console, yelling and talking to his friends, leaving you no time to play any games that you like, unless you wanted to wake up a few hours before you had to work to sneak on it. But by the time you got home from work, cleaned up the messes he made throughout the day, made yourself dinner, showered and got into your PJ'S, you were too damn tired to do anything. You knew you had to wake up the next day and do it all over again, so any sleep you got was precious.
A part of you often wondered why you were in this relationship with him. Maybe you were scared to be alone, maybe you didn't think you could do any better than him, but you stuck with him, because for some reason, you loved the guy.
"What do you want, Chad?" You sigh, walking into the living room where he's sprawled out on the couch, headset on and his match paused. "I'm trying to figure out bills, you know that thing that keeps us warm, and with light and hot water, that you said you'd help pay and haven't."
"Yeah, babe, can you go to the corner store and get those Takis, you know the ones I like? The not so spicy ones though babe, cause remember I have acid reflux, and a diet coke." He says, turning back to the screen, laughing at something said through his head phones.
You could feel the rage building up inside of you, awfully quick, and it was seeping out of you even quicker.
"Are you going to pay for said snacks?" You ask, trying to keep your voice calm.
"What?" He laughs. "Babe, no, come on. I'm broke. I don't get paid again for two weeks. You know this."
"You just got paid yesterday." You breathe through gritted teeth. "Where the hell did all your money go?" You ask, your hands balled into fists.
"You know babe, I had the fantasy football league entry, plus I owed Kyle money for the keg bomber last weekend, and I took the boys out for supper yesterday. Shit adds up." He says, never looking at you, only focusing on the game.
"And that's my problem, why exactly? Why is it always on me just because you're not financially stable. Grow up, you're 35 for christ sakes!" You yell. You stomp to the kitchen, grabbing your purse and slipping on your shoes before heading back into the living room.
"Yeah, she's got her shoes and purse." He laughs. "She's definitely going to get my stuff."
"You know what Chad? I'm definitely not going to get your snacks, get your own fucking snacks, Chaaad. I'm going for a drink, with my own goddamn money." You spit, storming out of the house.
You're wandering down the street, like you had been for the last thirty five minutes, and finally you found somewhere that looked decent enough. You walk in, and the lights are on very low, the place is almost dark, had it not been for the red lights swinging above tables, or the string of red lights wrapping around the ceiling. Your eyes wander the open floor of seating as a soft beat vibrates through the building. Every person in here who was sitting with someone was leaning closely to that person, seemingly having an intense conversation. The vibes felt dark and eerie, but you welcomed it, you enjoyed it instead of being around Chad's fuck boy mentality. You walk towards the bar, sliding onto one of the empty bar stools and setting your purse on your lap. Your eyes were looking down when you felt a presence standing in front of you. You look up and see quite possibly the most beautiful man you have ever seen.
"What can I get for you?" He asks, his voice is deep, yet so smooth and calming.
"Double vodka and coke please, and for the love of god, keep them coming." You sigh. After your comment you see the slightest hint of a smile appear on his lips, disappearing even quicker than it came.
"Bad day?" He asks, beginning to pour your drink.
"Bad relationship." You groan. He nods his head as he slides your drink towards you.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asks, leaning on the bar with his chin resting on his hands as he waits for you to speak. You look into his eyes, and they're so warm and mesmerizing, you felt safe and secure, like you could tell him anything. Which is exactly what you did.
"What's your name?" You ask.
"Hongjoong." He replies. "You?"
"Y/N."
"Okay Y/N, what's bothering you?"
"My boyfriend, we've been together for just over a year, and well.. he's something, and not the good something like people usually say. He moved in with me, without even asking me if I wanted to, and I just kind of accepted it. He doesn't pay anything, no bills, rent, groceries, nothing. It's all on me, even though he does work full time. He forgot my birthday, went out and got absolutely plastered with his 'boys'. On Valentine's Day, he took me out for dinner, and can you guess who was there?" You ask.
"His boys?" He answered.
"You sir, are correct. I was ignored the entire evening, and then he and his boys left, I ended up paying the bill, and I had to uber home because he had driven us there. Not to mention the fact that he assumes I'm just there for his pleasure, expecting me to be spread eagle for him whenever he decides to show up." You finish, chugging your drink as you try not to gag on the strong taste of vodka.
"Why are you with him then? He doesn't sound like he contributes to the relationship at all, so why do you stay?" He asks.
'Honestly, I'm not entirely sure." You answer as he slides another drink in front of you.
"Now that's a bullshit excuse." He replies. "There's a reason that you clearly don't want to admit."
"Do you ever smile?" You ask him.
"No." He answers. "Now, why won't you leave him?"
"Because it's safe, I guess? I don't know if I can do any better than him." You shrug.
"Y/N, you have no idea how much better you could do." He says.
**
From the moment Hongjoong had a whiff of the scent that was coming into his bar, he knew that it was the scent of the one. He intensely watched the door, waiting for the one it belonged too to walk through the door. As soon as you did, it was almost as though his heart could have started beating once again, the ice cold blood that ran through his body could have turned warm just by the sight of you. He isn't sure what it is about you, but he had always been told that he would know when he found the one, and having been alive for over a century, he had just assumed that it wasn't in the cards for him, and now he knows why. Because all his life he had been waiting for you. The person that he would do anything for, the person that he would be anything for had finally walked into his life, and for once he felt an ounce of hope, until, you had mentioned the filthy human you were in a relationship with, not to mention one that treated you like absolute garage, and you had assumed that no one better would love you, but shit were you ever wrong. He was standing right in front of you, and though you had just met him, he loved you with everything he had and would do anything and everything to protect you.
**
"I appreciate your advice, Hongjoong, but it's getting late and I have to work tomorrow." You sigh. "How much do I owe you?" You ask, grabbing your card from your wallet.
"It's on me." He tells you, grabbing your empty glass.
"Well thank you." You smile. "It was nice meeting you." You tell him as you slide off the stool.
"You too." He says, watching you walk away from him.
That night when you got home, you couldn't get Hongjoong off your mind, a smile spread across your face as you walked through your front door, and headed into the living room, then it instantly dropped. Chad had not moved from the spot you had previously left him in a few hours ago. "Oh, babe." He says, sucking the cheeto dust from his fingers. "Kyle brought me some snacks, since you threw a huge temper tantrum about my snacks, you can just venmo or cash app him, k?" He says, going back to playing his game.
You went to bed that night, dreaming of one man, who was not your man.
**
Over the next few weeks, you had absolutely no desire to be at home. So you headed to the bar that Hongjoong worked at, everyday after work for a drink, or two, or four. In those weeks the two of you spent an ample amount of time getting to know each other, you were sure he knew you better than Chad ever did. You didn't want to see Chad, you didn't want to be near him and it was bad enough that he constantly texted you throughout the day, sending you lists of things to buy from the grocery store, as if he wasn't able to do it himself. But much to your surprise, he didn't text you when you never came home with his snacks, he didn't check in with you throughout the day, and honestly it no longer bothered you.
You felt your feelings for Hongjoong deepen with every encounter the two of you had, every time you saw him it was like nothing you had ever felt with Chad, your emotions were amplified around Hongjoong and you weren't sure how much longer you could keep them hidden.
"One more." You tell Hongjoong, as you set down your fourth glass.
You can tell he wants to smile, but he's too good at controlling his emotions. "You've had enough, I'm cutting you off." He tells you.
You pout, trying to give him your best puppy dog eyes, but absolutely nothing got to the man and it was frustrating as fuck.
"A bad storm is coming, you should probably get home." He tells you, drying off some glasses.
"I don't want to go home, he's there." You scoff, just thinking about Chad made you want to vomit. "I guess I could just get a motel room, at that place across the street." You say, pointing over to the run down motel, that had flickering lights, and probably a rat and cockroach infestation.
"You will do no such thing." Hongjoong replies. "You can stay at my place." He says. "Give me a minute." He walks from around the bar, towards the back of the building, and you can't help but to turn in your stool and watch him walk away, damn he looks good.
Within seconds he's back, grabbing your bag and scooping you up into his arms as he effortlessly carries you out the door.
"I can walk." You object.
"I know." He says, his face stone cold.
"You're very pale." You tell him, as if he didn't know.
"I know." He replies, unlocking the door to his car.
"And you're very cold." You say.
He sighs. "I know." He finishes as he slides you into the passenger seat of his car.
As soon as he started his car, the rain began pouring as thunder and lightning jolted the sky.
"You were right, there's a storm." You say, watching out your window.
"I know." He replies, this time it sounded different. You turned to look at him, hoping you'd catch him smiling but no such luck.
He continues driving, taking you out into the middle of nowhere, out of city limits, this was it, this was probably when you died. You panicked slightly but you felt it in your entire body that he was not going to murder you, at least not that night.
Hongjoong pulls up to a gate, punching in a few numbers to open the gate, which just blocked off a winding road. You squinted as you tried to see where you were going but it was far too dark for you to see anything, until you pulled up to a beautiful mid-century mansion that made your mouth drop. It was absolutely stunning and you couldn't believe that he lived there.
"Seriously? This is where you live?" You say.
"MY family, but yeah." He answers, parking the car near the entrance.
He hops out of his seat, walking towards your side to open the door for you, pulling you inside before you get too wet. He dragged you up a large flight of stairs, not letting you admire the inside of his house. He put you inside a large room, with a large bed and a bathroom ensuite. "There's towels if you want to shower, I'll be back in a bit to check on you." He says, avoiding all eye contact before walking out of the room.
You let out a deep breath as you take off your heels, unbutton your pants and unhook your bra, placing it all next to the bed. You sit down on the bed in your underwear and t-shirt, wondering what to do, until your phone rings.
Looking at the caller ID, you didn't want to answer it, but you felt it would be unfair for you to do so.
"Hello?" You answer.
"Hey babe, it's me.. it's Chad." He says.
"I know who it is." You sigh.
"Look.. I know you've been terrible, oh, wait, I mean I've been terrible in our relationship lately but I want to make almonds." He says. "No idiot, it's amends." You hear from the background.
"Are you kidding me right now? Do you seriously have Brad over to help you?" You yell.
"Well yeah, he noticed that we were drifting apart and offered to help me get you back." Chad explains.
You get up off the bed, pacing on the hardwood floors as you tried to process what he just said to you.
"The fact that you didn't even notice that we were drifting apart is all that I need to hear. You know what, Chad? I'm done. I'm done with this relationship, I'm done with you. Just get out of my apartment, I'm over it." You yell, hanging up the phone.
You stand there, taking deep breaths as you replay the conversation you just had, he didn't even care enough to notice that you'd been pulling away. That kind of hurt, but then again it was Chad. He was never very perceptive.
A knock at the door before it suddenly opens, reveals Hongjoong, walking into the room. He tried to play it cool with the fact that you were practically naked in front of it.
"I heard yelling. You okay?" He asks as lightning strikes, causing the power to flicker.
"Chad called, he had his friend Brad over to feed him lines because Brad noticed we were drifting apart." You explain. "But I did it. I ended things." You proudly admit.
"Good for you." He says, staring at you, while you stare back at him. A crack of thunder hits loudly, making you jump, and within seconds Hongjoong's arms are wrapped around you, like he was protecting you. You look at him and he looks at you, and before you can tell yourself not to, your lips are pressed against him, and he is kissing you back.
The kiss turns passionate and needy in seconds, both of your desires for one another coming out without any control. He moves you both to the bed, laying you down as he hovers over you, his strong arms keeping him above you. You wrap your arms and legs around him, pulling his body closer to yours, feeling him near was all you'd wanted. His ice cold fingers touch your stomach as he begins to lift your shirt up, you can feel his cock slowly becoming harder. You begin lifting his shirt, when his phone rings. He stands up, whispering an apology before answering his phone, barely speaking any words.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I have some things to take care of." He says.
"Oh, yeah, no problem." You say, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Get some sleep." He tells you before walking out of the bedroom door, leaving you alone once again.
You tried to fight the exhaustion you felt, but it was far too hard. You got snuggled underneath the blankets, watching the door, hoping he would come back but your eyelids got too heavy for you to keep open, and you swiftly drifted off to sleep, finally feeling some peace.
**
The warm sun was shining into the room, waking you up. You let out a little stretch before opening your eyes, only to see five men standing around you. You sit up, moving to the wall, as these men stare at you. You looked at them all, and they all looked similar to Hongjoong. Pale skin, dark eyes, dark head, blood red lips.
"Who are you?" One of them asks.
"Y/N." You whisper.
Another one speaks up, looking at the other four men. "Who the fuck brought a human home?"

NEO-POP - 3
PAIRING: Iwaizumi Hajime/Reader
CONTENT: homesickness, long-distance relationship

masterlist | previous part
AFTER HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
In the swinging pendulum of life, there are ups and downs.
A bird poops on Iwaizumi's cap during graduation, and Hanamaki trips on his way up to the stage. He and his friends all decide to go to different universities in different countries, and Birtwistle University offers him a full-ride scholarship. Over the summer, Iwaizumi bumps into Takahashi at the grocery store and—
Well—
Admittedly, he has yet to find an up in this case.
In the swinging pendulum of life, it is, for the most part, predictable. Iwaizumi knows that things haven't exactly been civil between him and Takahashi, like, ever and it's not like anything has changed even remotely since the last time they spoke to each other nearly four years ago. Thus, it comes off as no surprise when the boy sneers obnoxiously and glances over at him from the literal top of his head to his toes before speaking to him with a dry lilt to his tone, as if trying to pass off vocal fry as disinterest, "What are you doing here?"
"To... buy groceries," Iwaizumi says slowly. Takahashi simply tsks and rolls his eyes as a response, like he didn't just?? Ask??? It's unnerving how this conversation plays out almost like a scene in a stereotypical American high school movie between two rivals, just only less riveting because after that short exchange, it's awkward.
Takahashi shoves his hands in the pockets of his jorts and looks at his surroundings aimlessly. Iwaizumi has an internal debate between staying or walking away.
"If you don't have anything else to stay, I'm gonna go now—"
"Yesterday, I was at this place," Takahashi blurts out. "It had some art displayed up on the walls."
Another foreboding silence falls between them.
"...Okay."
He continues, "I recognised the name under a lot of the paintings, y'know, which is weird because I don't really know anything about art and artists or whatever, but then I remembered: your friend's an artist, aren't they? Or at least wanted to be one, anyway, last I remember. The name under the paintings was something like— [L/N]..." He snaps his fingers repeatedly like that'll help jog his memory. "[L/N]-something—"
"Yeah, that's them. [L/N] [Y/N]," Iwaizumi confirms. He can't help the feeling of pride that swells in his chest as he says this.
Takahashi hums and an amused expression overtakes his face. "So they've actually decided to do it. Pursue a career in art."
"If you're going to make fun of them again like you did at my fifteenth birthday party, I don't want to hear it—"
"I wasn't!" He huffs, crossing his arms. "I was actually..." The last part of his sentence comes out an incoherent mumble.
Iwaizumi blinks at him. "You were what?"
"I was..." Again. He's mumbling.
"What?"
"Hey! I'm speaking loud and clear, aren't I?" Takahashi snaps defensively, growing red-faced for a moment, but then quiets down to say, "I said I was impressed. By their art. And how— I don't know. Successful they are. I mean, having your art displayed in the building of some really popular business downtown that's not even art-related — it was a fucking foot spa salon. But that's gotta mean some amount of success, right?"
"Yeah." Iwaizumi isn't really sure what else to say to that or where exactly this conversation is going.
"I've always thought that people who pursued a career in the art field would be wasting their time by doing so, that it's not worth it. And for most, it isn't. But of course there are outliers; I can't just generalise an entire career path to only one outcome."
He then heaves a sigh and suddenly looks remorseful. Somewhat. Honestly, it's hard to tell with how unfamiliar Iwaizumi is with this version of Takahashi: older, less irritating, civil with him for once. People can change as they grow, of course, yet there's a part of him that feels like any moment now, all of this will be revealed to be a morbid illusion— a fake body of some sort that will suddenly collapse into a pile of flimsy unknown material on the ground and then a seething, tantrum-throwing kid will come crawling out of the mess, shaking a fist at him in anger and insulting the near-invisible wrinkles in Iwaizumi's forehead yet again.
"I'll admit," Takahashi starts, much to Iwaizumi's surprise because it sounds like he's actually confessing to something wrong he did and about to own up to it for once, "it's not my business to dictate what someone else wants to do with their life, and it was weird of me to say all of the things I said to your friend at your birthday. So can you, like. Um. Like. Um. Tell them I'm kinda sorry about that."
"Kinda?"
"Yeah."
What kind of apology is that? Iwaizumi narrows his eyes into a scrutinising glare but ultimately decides not to speak further on the half-assed sorry, offering a curt nod instead. He is almost certain you probably don't even remember him anyway, so it'll be amusing to tell you this, if anything.
"You've already started your last year of high school, right? What do you plan on doing afterwards?" he then asks. Saying this makes him feel ancient in the same way adults always used to try and start up conversations with him by only asking questions about school, but whatever.
Takahashi shrugs. "Dunno. My uncle wants me to study law like himself and my parents agree with him."
"Oh. Do you want to study law?"
"God, no." He lets out a scoff at the question, as if to insinuate how ridiculous it is. "Obviously, I wanna do something else. Like — don't laugh or I'll punt you — gardening."
Okay. Ignoring the threat, Iwaizumi nods.
"Good for you." Despite how dryly these words come out, he genuinely means it. Though, he's a bit intrigued, so— "Why?"
"Dunno," Takahashi says again. "It just feels right, you know? Maybe I'll think differently tomorrow; happens all the time whenever I start wondering if I should drop out 'cause school's so hard and all."
Iwaizumi can agree with him on that, for once.
"But right now, I wanna be a gardener since I like gardening and plants and stuff. Even if it's kind of unconventional. And even if it doesn't pay as well as my family would like."
"I'm sure you'd be a great gardener, then," Iwaizumi concedes, nodding again understandingly.
"Thanks." Takahashi pauses to think for a moment. "Hey, you wanna know the place where I found your friend's art? Don't know the exact address, but I remember the name because it was funny."
He snickers to himself. It is a stark contrast to the pissy, constantly wrathful face Iwaizumi has grown used to disliking over the past several years.
"That would be nice."
In the swinging pendulum of life, there are several constants and changes. As long as it had been since Iwaizumi last saw him, the boy standing in front of him is still recognisably Takahashi, still the same insufferable butthead from Iwaizumi's childhood who grates on his nerves oftentimes. Just refined now, as though time had chiselled away at the sharp edges of a rock to reveal, not some shimmery gem (he would never go so far as to say that), but at least something a little less... spiteful.
Iwaizumi doesn't think they'll ever talk again, not for a while. He wishes him all the best.

"How's California?"
It's different, he thinks. New. Big. He sees it first in the thriving campus of Birtwistle University when he initially arrives there, in all the colossal buildings and the confusing paths he struggles to navigate for at least the first couple of weeks before things start to fall in place, through bits and pieces of a routine he'd brought from back home only to adapt it to this new place almost entirely.
He sees it, then, in the people he meets on campus, who remind him too much of a hurricane, a group he could easily get caught up in and suddenly forget to breathe; they're thunderous and boisterous in the way they address their friends with big, open greetings paired with elaborate handshake routines that make him feel dizzy just by observing them, in the way that their laughs echo boundlessly from the other side of the dining hall, and in the way many of them offer Iwaizumi friendly smiles, unfamiliarity be damned, as their paths cross on the way to class.
He sees it in the clunky cars that whiz by, of which the number only seems to multiply the further he immerses himself into the city until he can confidently conclude that there's way too many; he sees it in the wide variety of food and drinks, so wide that he doesn't think he'll ever get to trying them all in the four years he plans on staying here; and he sees it in the scenery— long mountain ranges with the highest peaks he's ever witnessed, even higher than the ones in Miyagi, and rolling waves that lull him to a sense of calm at the end of his 5AM morning runs (because he's insane like that) when he stops to take a rest by the outer edge of the boardwalk.
California is overwhelming, but maybe he can get used to it. Grow to love it almost as much he loves home.
"It's okay. The weather here is really hot. Like summer all year-round," is all he says in response to your question, though. It's a tad more lukewarm and boring than he'd like, especially when this is the first time in weeks he's talking to you and hearing your voice, but honestly, he doesn't think he can fit everything he wants to say within just one phone call. And, as cheesy as it sounds, he'd rather listen to you talk instead, so he switches the topic onto you with ease, mirroring your question. "How's art school?"
"It's alright," you say.
"Is it everything you've dreamt of?"
Iwaizumi hears a brief rustle on the other end of the call, which he assumes must be you shrugging. "I don't know."
"Okay."
"Okay," you echo. You sound faint, like you've set the phone down to go somewhere else in the room for a moment. A noise like running water and the familiar clatter of plates then ring out through the phone call, and Iwaizumi concludes you must be washing the dishes. His suspicions are confirmed when he hears you hum quietly to yourself along to the music you have playing in the background as ambience. (He finds himself having to force away the smile threatening to spread across his face.)
California, he thinks— sometimes, it makes him feel small. Once the initial exhilaration of living thousands of kilometres away from home wears off, all that's left is a bittersweet feeling inside the pit of his stomach, something between homesickness and loneliness. He feels it in the silences that often fill your calls, that aren't exactly uncomfortable but not comfortable either like he's used to when it was you and him hanging out in-person, and that grow longer with every time he picks up the phone to answer you because there's simply too much to say yet too little to say at the same time.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Right now, his heart yearns for nothing more than to go home, though he's unsure if that means Miyagi or wherever you are.
.
.
.
A year later, Iwaizumi returns to Japan just for the winter holidays and finds your artworks out in the wild yet again, surprisingly. They're ceramics this time, displayed on shelves at the front of some kind of small-scale art gallery he doesn't recognise. It must have opened recently or something, he thinks.
He fumbles to take his phone out and snaps a picture. In the process, he overhears a group of passers-by refer to you as one of the new and rising artists internationally. A fine arts and crafts artist with such a captivating style, apparently, that is reminiscent of the Neo-Pop movement, based upon popular culture and ideas and intended to communicate with the masses— made for anyone and everyone.
Honestly? Iwaizumi doesn't know what the fuck any of all that means. It sounds an awful lot like pretentious babble to him, the kind he'd hear from professionals at a fancy museum or something.
Regardless of this, he's never felt any prouder of you.
(Somewhere on the other side of the globe, you let out a sneeze.)
.
.
.
Things are going considerably well for you now. Iwaizumi knows that because you update him as often as you can: you've recently started a summer internship in New Brunswick, and your business email has been swarmed as of lately with all kinds of companies commissioning you for your art. (And with every fiber of his being, he hopes— no, prays you still remember that Internet Safety 101 presentation he gave informally over a FaceTime call with you two years ago, or at least the parts where you should be doing background checks before you conduct business with some stranger online.)
For you, time seems to fly by faster than ever. It feels like you've talked to more people here within the past three years than you ever had back when you lived in Miyagi, and free time becomes sort of a rare luxury now, something you can't really plan for anymore as your academics and art career in-the-making take up most of it.
As for Iwaizumi— although it takes a few years, he's finally adjusted to the overwhelming lifestyle of studying abroad in the States. You sense it in the way he texts, in the way he jokes around with you over calls, and in the photos he sends whenever you're feeling nosy and make him show off his Outfit Of The Day. It's not much different from the him you knew so well before you and your family departed for Canada — easily irritable, stubborn, and caring in his own subtle manner — but not quite the same either.
He's more confident now, you think. Cooler. And you'd think out of reach, too, if not for the late night calls that occur from time to time and more often now because your schedule's so packed that that's the only time you can call: midnight. (He had reprimanded you for it multiple times, said something about the importance of sleep for your health, yet that never stopped him from picking up the phone every time.)
You'd feel like the distance between the two of you is growing larger, if not for the way his face — pixelated and blurry since the connection most often ranges between bad and worse, but your brain always automatically fills in the gaps, all the details that make up the Hajime you adore — visibly softens each time before a hushed Goodnight escapes him, paired with yet another sweet reminder that you can call him whenever, he'll always pick up.
The essence of this upcoming school year, it seems like, is out with the old and in with the new. Neither of the two of you are willing to let go of each other any time soon, though, unmistakably in the way he never lets go of those two phone charms — even if they do appear, to some, a bit juvenile hanging from his phone for someone with looks of him — and how Hajime's contact name never once slips from your list of most recent text conversations and calls.
.
.
.
To say Iwaizumi is nervous would be a severe understatement. He's never been to New Brunswick before, and he isn't even sure if this apartment is the one he's looking for, among many other uncertainties that come with navigating through an entirely different country yet again. Nonetheless, he supposes it's too late to backtrack now because before he's even aware of it, his hand suddenly develops a mind of its own and reaches up to rap against the door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
He steps back and leans against the wall behind him, fighting back the urge to fiddle with his fingers as he attempts to look as confident as he can while waiting. Seconds later, he hears the sound of footsteps. A door creaking open, although not the one in front of him unfortunately. Some more shuffling, a click, and then—
The door swings open. Iwaizumi smiles upon the sight of you, unable to keep the excitement from showing on his face.
"Hi."
There's several beats of silence. You appear as if you're in shock. "Hi," you breathe out.
You don't know how long it's been since you last saw him like this (four years? Maybe five at most, but to the both of you, it may as well be like decades): a clear image in-person instead of pixels confined in a pocket-sized screen, which you think, as you glance at him from head to toe, don't capture his looks as well as your eyes do right now.
Now twenty-three years old after all the time that's passed, he's taller, more visibly athletic, handsomer. These changes catch you off-guard for a solid minute until the familiarity eventually seeps in like a stain spreading across fabric, sending a pang of warmth straight through your heart.
Iwaizumi reaches you with just one stride forward. You feel his lips linger first over your forehead, then against your cheek, before he finally pulls you into the strongest bear hug you've ever experienced, and you return it with trembling arms wrapped around his torso as though you can't believe this is really happening. Burying your face into his shoulder, you breathe in the scent of his sweater, which smells vaguely of fresh laundry and bergamot, and clutch onto the fabric for dear life.
(You missed this, missed him. More than you had ever realised up until this moment.)
In the swinging pendulum of life, some things never change. You've never been happier to know that this — you and him, together — is one of them.
thank u for reading Neo-Pop!

rowaelin month day 1 - can’t help falling in love
prompt: "I just realized I'm desperately in love with you"
-
Meeting Aelin for the first time, Rowan begrudged that she was beautiful. Arrogant as he could be and incessantly swaggering, but she was beautiful. There was something sweet, and yet so sharp, about her features. His eyes traced them greedily the first, the second, the third time he met her, and even today, as she set her bag next to his in the library and took a seat across from him he couldn't help it. He absorbed every bit of her; golden hair and aquamarine eyes ringed with gold. The small nose, sharp but softened by the sun kissed freckles scattered along it. The cheekbones that framed her face and lips painted a threatening shade of red.
"So, Rowan, what'll it be today?" Aelin asked, pulling out her notebook and flipping her hair over one shoulder. He didn't know it yet, but it was a nervous tic.
"The same as yesterday, Aelin. Calculus." He gave her a long suffering look and pinched the bridge of his nose. She was beautiful, but it didn't make tutoring her any easier.
"No originality." She sighed. "How disappointing."
"Let's just start."
So they began, and Rowan questioned not for the first time why she had bothered asking their teacher for a peer tutor. She was clearly skilled. She knew what she was doing. He worked up the courage and asked for the first time.
"I'm pretty busy," She explained. "I just want to make sure that I'm understanding everything and that I know what I'm doing, you know? Sometimes I'm so tired in class and I just want to make sure I'm getting everything. Sorry if that makes this seem like a waste of time." Rowan shook his head. He admired her dedication to her education. He certainly cared for his own, but not this much.
"No, I don't mind at all. I have hockey, but that doesn't really start for a while."
"Right, right, you're on the hockey team! You just don't seem like it when we're sitting in the library and you're teaching me math, you know?"
"And you don't seem like the type to be aspiring for Julliard, but here we are."
"Shhh!" Aelin exaggerated. "That's a secret!" Rowan looked at her pointedly.
As he opened his mouth to say something, another boy walked up to the table they were sitting at. Rowan recognized him. He was a year younger, in Aelin's grade.
"Chaol! What're you doing here? I'd expect Dorian at the library, but you're usually at the gym." Chaol. That was his name. And Aelin seemed to know him, seemed to be very familiar with him in fact. And who was Dorian. Rowan found that these questions rose no matter how hard he tried to tamp them down.
Chaol's cheeks were coated in a slight blush. "Could I talk to you, just the two of us?"
Did he plan on asking Aelin out? Rowan couldn't deny that no matter how much he ignored it, a part of him hoped that wouldn't happen.
"What do you say tutor? Can the two of us finish for the day?"
The other part knew that was stupid, because that was it really. He was her tutor, and maybe they were friends. Acquaintances probably. It wasn't something he wanted to think too much about. So he mumbled a yes and hoped Aelin heard him, beginning to pack his things.
And he froze, because Aelin kissed him on the cheek. Then ran off with Chaol, behind the bookshelves.
Fuck this, he thought. Fuck the searing heat in the spot her lips had pressed against his skin, fuck the fluttering in his stomach, fuck his uneven heartbeat. Fuck the lipstick smudge on his cheek. Still, he bit his lip hard enough to hurt to hold back he didn't know what. A smile? Maybe.
He stood from their table and then Aelin and Chaol popped back out of the bookshelves. "Guess who has a date?" She sing songed. The lightness in his chest turned sticky and heavy like tar and it became hard to breathe. "Me, stupid. God, don't look at me like that, it's not that confusing!"
"That's- it's nice."
"It's very nice, Rowan, thank you very much. See you tomorrow? I'll tell you all about it after you teach me fancy math, I promise." Aelin smiled and whirled around, walking out of the library with Chaol.
After that, Rowan had no choice but to come to terms with his feelings for Aelin. He didn't just think she was beautiful, she was funny and her wit and swagger was captivating. Conversations with her were entertaining and he noticed the small things she did, like the way she narrowed her eyes when she concentrated or sighed under her breath when she didn't understand.
Tutoring sessions were his time with her, but they became almost unbearable. Chaol stopped by every day within the first hour of their two hour session, dropping off a coffee that he could tell was too bitter and kissing Aelin before going about his own business.
In March, when colleges were sending acceptance letters out, Rowan would be lying if he said Aelin wasn't the first person texted when Yale sent him the letter saying he got it. The next day, Rowan found Aelin at their table, books and papers out, two cups of steaming liquid. She looked up as he set his things down and smiled wide at him.
"How does it feel to know you're going to an Ivy?" She asked, and passed him a cup. He pried off the lid and smiled when the sweet smell of jasmine tea wafted up to him. He preferred it to coffee. Aelin, though was drinking coffee, and he suspected it had far too much sugar for it to be healthy.
"It feels great. And nerve wracking, honestly." He replied. She nodded.
"Yeah, I can see how. I'd be freaked out too if I got into such a prestigious college."
"And maybe you will." He raised his brows. "Julliard?"
She sighed exaggeratedly. "I don't think I'm good enough for Julliard, truthfully."
"Well, apply next year. If only so you can come visit me at Yale." Aelin's face brightened with a mischievous smile.
"If you say so."
They settled into comfortable silence for a bit, and then Rowan started their review for the day. When it had been an hour and a half and Chaol hadn't stopped by yet, he had to ask. "Where's the boyfriend?"
"No longer my boyfriend. Looks like I have to buy my own coffee from now own." She sighed in that dramatic way of hers again. Rowan couldn't help the overwhelming relief that slammed through him. Now he could-
He could what? He could ask her out? Tell her that he knew Chaol had never bothered to properly learn her coffee order because he noticed the way she winced when she sipped the too bitter liquid? Tell her that he knew she was brilliant on the piano, though he'd only heard her play once? That she was beautiful and smart and funny and so, so brilliant, and they'd only have a year together before he left?
He couldn't do it. Or maybe you're afraid, that awful voice everyone had in their head mocked him. Rowan didn't want to admit to that either.
So all he said was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Aelin flashed a smile at him, and it twisted a knife through his gut because it wasn't her swaggering grin. It was gone sooner than it had come. They continued with their session until two hours came to an end and Aelin stood abruptly, leaving the library faster than she did before.
On May 3rd, Aelin turned 17, and Rowan remembered it. He carried her present with him all through the day. It was tucked into a small black box, her name written in gold marker in his quick scrawl. When he sat at their table at the library, he felt like the wait for her had been broken down into each separate millisecond. It was torture on his stomach, his heartbeat pulsing and fluttering in and out of it.
After what felt like decades, Aelin sat down across from him. "Hey Rowan," She smiled at him. In all the time they'd spent together, he had learned all her different smiles. There were the ones that curled at the left side of her mouth and made her shoulders pull back arrogantly. She was sure to start teasing him when her smile pulled slowly, eyes glinting mischievously. When she smiled like that, he couldn't help but grin himself.
But this smile, the one that was pure happiness, simple joy, it was his favorite. She looked at him from across the table and her eyes gleamed with it, sparkling, the shades of turquoise and gold even more vibrant. Aelin furrowed her brows and he realized he'd been staring.
"Happy birthday!" Rowan blurted out.
Aelin's brows rose and she laughed into that beautiful smile of hers and he was knocked breathless again. "Thank you, Rowan."
He reached over into his bag and pulled out the flat black box. "I got you- I don't know if- I figured-"
"Thank you, Rowan," She said again, smiling wider and coming to his side of the table and kneeling next to him so she was just a bit shorter. "Now let me see what's in her."
She traced her fingers over the box, her smile growing softer. "I love your handwriting, you know. I know you think it's messy, and it is, but it's the pretty kind of messy, you know?" She looked over at him and blushed a little. "I love your handwriting." She traced the five letters of her name written in his scrawl again.
And then Aelin opened the box, and she gasped a little. It was simple, he knew that, but most of Aelin's necklaces were, to his notice. It was something she'd be able to wear with most outfits. She pulled the gold chain out of the crushed velveteen it was laid on and looked closer at the turquoise gemstone pendant.
"I- The color, it reminded me of your eyes, so you know..." He trailed off.
She turned to look at him. "I love it, Rowan," and Aelin threw her arms around his neck, red lipstick blurring in the quickness. It was his raging pulse, it was a fiery inferno, it was his urge to kiss her. She was so near, so close to him, lavender and lemon verbena intoxicating him.
And why not? There was nothing to lose.
He pulled back from where his head was pressed to her neck, arms holding her tightly. Rowan wasn't sure whether he moved first or she did. But their mouths were upon each other, softer than he'd thought he would kiss her. But it was soft, it was sweet, it was everything he had wanted to do after sitting across from her all year long.
When Aelin pulled back from his mouth, she huffed a little laugh and rubbed his lips lightly with her thumb. “You’ve got lipstick on your lips now.” She smiled, pressing her forehead into his neck.
Holding her against his body, red lipstick smudged against his lips, standing in the school library, Rowan had never felt so calm. So warm. So happy. And he realized, with a desperate suddenness, he loved the girl in his arms.
“I love you.” He whispered against her hair. And it was peaceful.

Mother's Day

IZUKU MIDORIYA | Potluck Brunch
"Do you think that this is too much?"
"I'm sure it's fine."
Midoriya's smile warmed the chilliest of mornings while the cherry blossoms began to drift in the spring breeze. It was a busy start to the day grocery shopping for a surprise brunch he wanted to make for his mother. That did however include having to wake at four in the morning to peruse through the markets for the freshest ingredients.
You yawned loudly while carrying various shopping bags on hand, eyeing Midoriya carrying the more heavier ingredients with him - mostly the meat.
"Still trying to wake up?" Asked Midoriya.
"Just trying to slip back into my old routine," you explained, nuzzling your nose into your scarf. "I used to clean my equipment every two days at the break of dawn."
"You used to clean your guns?"
"Dismantle and put them back together too. I used to time myself."
You spoke casually and nonchalantly about those memories, recalling that competitive feeling to beat your time again and again. However, you heard nothing from Midoriya, finding that he only stared at you quizzically.
"What? I was... bored," you slowly explained, a little embarrassed about the topic.
"That explains your reaction time," pondered Midoriya, his eyes staring upwards in thought. "Constant practice and muscle memory would only make them second nature to you."
"Are you theorizing now?"
"Hehe, maybe a little."
You grimaced and yet smiled at Midoriya, bumping your hip into his playfully. He was still the observant and analytical man, always putting forward his ingenuity over his Quirk.
Soon, the both of you made your way to his old family home in an apartment complex, taking the elevator up before approaching the very familiar front door to his mother's. After a knock or two, the door opened, revealing a short woman whose eyes upon seeing the both of you, smiled happily.
"Izuku," she greeted, receiving a large hug from Midoriya.
"Nice to see you mum," he spoke, pulling away for you to greet her as well.
"So good to see you Inko," you cooed with a gentle hug. "Hope we haven't disturbed you."
"Oh nonsense, what's all this?" She asked, eyeing all of the bags in hand.
"Happy Mother's Day," cheered Midoriya while he lifted the heavier bags in hand. "We're going to treat you with potluck brunch."
"Izuku had this planned over the last week," you explained with another yawn escaping your throat. "Nothing but the best ingredients."
Inko glanced between yourself and Midoriya, along with all of the ingredients on hand in astonishment, before her eyes pricked with tears. You contemplated whether she was growing upset, however she closed in for another hug, sharing it between the both of you.
"You two work so hard. You didn't need to do this," she cried in happiness. Because of her short height, you glanced at Midoriya who was also standing awkwardly from the hug, finding that smile on his face again.
"We wanted to," he comforted while he gently pulled away, allowing Inko to release her sudden hold before he entered the apartment. "We'll take care of the cooking and cleaning."
"Today is meant for you," you reassured her, following Midoriya with a smile. "You don't lift a finger at all."
"As long as Cutie doesn't grill a cake," he teased from within, causing your shoulders to stiffen from the twang of embarrassment.
"Huh?" uttered Inko in confusion.
"Hey! It was only once!"
SHOUTO TODOROKI | Visiting Hours
Entering into the hospital ward still felt like an odd experience. Already having bypassed the reception desk with ease, Todoroki and yourself brought a few gifts for the occasion, including a small bouquet of Autumn Bellflowers.
"Have your brother and sister visited already?" You asked curiously with the resonant sounds of footsteps filling the halls.
"Natsu visited after work, and Fuyumi spent the day with Mum yesterday," bluntly replied Todoroki.
"That's good."
Todoroki eyed a smile on your lips, the both of you walking side by side while he smiled to himself. He cherished these little stares he could steal to see you happy next to him, hoping for you to slowly become more ingrained in his life now that you were engaged.
"What?" You uttered, catching his eye on you.
"Nothing," he replied, still with a warm smile.
Soon, Room 315 was in sight before Todoroki knocked on the door, opening it for you to enter first. You spotted his mother by the window, enjoying the gifts that were brought over the past day until her tired yet calm eyes spotted you by the door.
"Welcome," she greeted, walking up to you with open arms and hugging you. That was unexpected. You quipped in surprise, before she gently released you to turn to her son.
"Hello Mum," cooly greeted Todoroki.
"Please sit," invited Rei, pulling you gently by the arm to seat you by the dining table while Todoroki placed the bouquet of flowers elsewhere. Though the tug of Rei's hands were gentle, it held purpose. You felt it in her grip, in the tiny fingertips while she pulled you into the room.
Something wasn't odd, but it was different.
"How are you both?" She asked with delight.
"Aside from work, we've been doing fine," replied Todoroki.
"Yeah, there's been a hiccup, but nothing that we couldn't handle with some old friends," you added with a smile.
"I've seen the news," started Rei, her eyes dulling a little from her thoughts. "That man that is causing a mess, there's no sign of him?"
You turned to Todoroki, catching his eye once more before he joined the table, calmly holding onto his mother's hands.
"The Commission's got eyes on him. We'll find him soon," he reassured, receiving a calm
smile from his mother. "How are you going, Mum?"
"I've been well. Natsuo brought over some gifts and Fuyumi visited with some delicious treats and meals." Rei's eyes turned to Todoroki, filled with a sadness you had seen time and time before. "Your father came by as well, only for a short while though."
"I see," shortly replied Todoroki.
"Will you be slowly moving back to the estate?" You asked out of the blue, catching Rei off guard. "I mean, there's a place there for you, and maybe it's good to stay close with... family."
"Very soon," replied Rei without hesitation. "It's a shame. I was hoping to see you more often."
"Oh, I mean I don't live far from the hospital so if ever you need anything I'm a phone call away."
A silence befell the room, one that felt odd, like how Rei held your hand not too long ago.
"What?"
"Oh it's not that I don't appreciate the offer, but I would've thought Shouto would have invited the suggestion to you," explained Rei with that content smile, almost similar to the ones she gave on Todoroki's birthday.
"Love, would you like to move in with me?" Asked Todoroki from beside you without warning and without fail.
A stammer stopped your mouth from forming comprehensible words, taken back by the question. You looked between the two, spotting that content and warm smile on mother and son. Ones that you couldn't object or argue with. This was supposed to be Mother's Day.
"This is the best gift yet," commented Rei, smiling gently at your flabbergasted reaction.
KATSUKI BAKUGOU | Future In-Laws
Both Bakugou and yourself stood by the front door of his old family home, having arranged half a day to visit his mother for Mother's Day. You noticed how blue the sky was, how bright the sun shone, and how calm the Neighbourhood felt.
If only Bakugou was as cheerful.
You eyed him every once in a while, his face unchanging with that scowl etched in his brow. It wasn't his normal, usual, aggravated self. It was more of a-
"What?" He growled, his eyes glancing into yours.
"Nothing," you responded coolly with a smile.
"Don't gloat."
"I'm not."
"If that hag says anything, we're walking back home."
A snort escaped your nostrils, a small one but nonetheless one that continued to bubble into your shoulders. "I love your parents," you commented.
"That's what I'm afraid of."
"You're here!" Exclaimed Mitsuki, causing a cringe on Bakugou's snarl but a smile from yours.
"Hi Mitsuki!" You chirped, hugging the woman by the door.
"Oh hush, you can call me Mum now."
"Mum?"
"Shut up hag," reacted Bakugou with a snarl. "They're not calling you that."
"I give them my consent, Katsuki. You have no say in the matter," snarked Mitsuki.
The tension was, well, insurmountably tense, standing between two very aggressive individuals in a staring contest. Until you spotted a familiar set of eyes from inside the house, waving meekly despite his tall stature.
"Hi Masaru," you greeted with a wave of your own.
"I see the day has started," he commented while his eyes worriedly observed the growling match his wife and son were dealing with by the door. You only chuckled until-
"Oh, you can call him Dad now, or Pop whichever you prefer," mused Mitsuki with a chirp, with no sign of aggravation on her face or in her voice.
"Honey, they don't have to call me-"
"No, I won't accept it. Our Katsuki has found his one and only, so they're now a part of the family!"
"Will you shut it you old hag?" Interrupted Bakugou again. "They're not calling you that, and they don't want to."
"You're not the voice of reason here, you brat! Even as a man, you're still a child!"
You stuttered at the sudden change and turn of phrase every so often. The thought crossed your mind that you would've been so used to this family dynamic now. But there were some things you hoped you weren't the center of attention for. That was difficult when you were between Bakugou and his mother.
You gently held onto Bakugou's arm, pressing your body against it in hopes to comfort him while you smiled at Mitsuki.
"Why don't we cross that bridge when we cross the threshold?" You suggested. "After all it's your day today and we are happy to spend it with you out of our Hero schedules."
A deep sigh escaped Mitsuki's lips while she smiled back at you. "Of course, I still think that you're now a part of the Bakugou family, so no pressure when you're comfortable with the new names."
"You'll hear it straight from me," you reassured, causing a giggle to erupt from Mitsuki.
"Splendid, come on in." Mitsuki skipped inside the family home, leaving Bakugou and yourself by the door to spot Masaru following after her, mouthing his thanks to you.
You felt Bakugou's aggressive and tense nature wash away while you held onto his arm throughout the small conversation with Mitsuki, tenderly rubbing your hand against his skin before you noticed his stare on you.
"You okay?" You asked with a smile.
"Yeah, no thanks to that hag," he retorted. "But... thanks."
"Always here for you."
You felt his large hand intertwine with yours, fingers pressed together, palms touching. A smirk appeared on Bakugou's lips before he led you into his old family home, a place you had become acquainted with for years, now stepping into it as his fiancé.

"i promised i'd forget, but you're all i see when i dream the night away"
bang chan x reader
genre — drama!au
suggested background music: x
note: like i said - i put a lot of my life into writing. something similar to this happened to me today, and i'd like to think that music is getting me through it. i wanted to add more of a "post credits" scene for chan and o/c, but this is how my day is going and how this situation ends.
The world never felt so heavy.
You'd never thought that scrolling through social media could create this bleeding ring in your ears, yet somehow here you are, unable to look at your phone. The photo you stumbled across had already been burned into your memory. There were times when you could forget what song you'd just listened to, and yet this one image had suddenly been burned, a permanent nightmare in your mind.
Your ex looked happy. It wasn't a bad breakup, but after a year, you couldn't expect him to stay single forever. You'd both agreed to move on, and while you swore you had, seeing the photo of him with a beautiful girl kissing his cheek made your shoulders heavy. Staring at your blacked out screen, it was like the photo was still there, and no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't keep yourself from seeing it. Every time you closed your eyes, there he was.
Happy.
You fumbled with your cell phone, placing it face down on your desk before your boss could catch you. It was hard to hide the look on your face. It was pain, sadness, and confusion. How was it that after all this time, you hadn't succeeded in moving on, but he had?
Was it you? Or was this girl really so special that you were worth forgetting?
The feeling of being forgotten - it's seeing the dust gather on photos and the doorknob that he will never open again.
It's over.
"Do you have the paperwork for the meeting tomorrow?" Chan popped into your office, placing a fresh mug of coffee on your desk. You'd started here only six months ago, but he already knew that you liked your coffee light and sweet. "Jisoo wants to make sure we're not missing anything before -"
"Yeah, I have it." You said curtly, looking back at your computer, typing away at your report. "I'll bring it to you later."
"I mean, I can wait for it if you have it ready."
"Chan," you looked up at him. "I said I'll bring it to you later."
Chan looked at you with mild concern. Sure, there were a lot of women in the office, and the men had eventually learned when not to step on toes in the case of any mood swings because of work stress. You weren't one of those people though. You were the type of person who'd rid the stress with a bar of chocolate and be done with it. You'd never snapped at him before.
"Okay." Chan backed out quietly. He ducked into the next office over. Knocking on Minki's office door, he peered in.
"Hey," Minki stood up. "I gotta bring these to the fourth floor, can you watch the phone for me?"
"Yeah, no problem." Chan smiled before taking a seat.
Ping
He knew that you and Minki were office best friends ever since you got hired. While he didn't mean to see it, Minki left his messenger open and slowly your messages came flooding in.
x: he moved on x: am i supposed to be upset? x: we broke up a year ago, so why do i feel so defeated haha x: maybe i'm just decomposing. why do i feel like this x: can we get drinks later? i know you hate it when i drink to drown out my sorrows, but i just can't be here right now.
Damn.
Chan swore he didn't mean to see all that. That would explain the mood though.
x: i didn't think i'd miss him this much. i just want to forget about it.
Taking in a deep breath, Chan pulled out his phone and made a call.
**
"Chan, why did you need me for this stupid client dinner? And who the hell has dinner at 4PM?" You continuously complained as he drove you down the road into the next district.
"Just relax, it'll be fine."
You rested your head against the passenger side window. As your breath fogged up the glass, you scribbled little hearts, peppered over the skyline as Chan drove. It wasn't until you started seeing signs that you realized you were at Banpo Bridge. Chan pulled into the empty parking lot.
"The client wants to have dinner here? What are we doing - getting takeout?" You jested.
Chan opened your door. "Go sit over there, I'll be right back."
You took your seat right by the edge of the water. The weather really was perfect today. The fresh air helped clear out your thoughts. Even though the breakup was a year ago, seeing that photo really made it feel like it just happened yesterday. Your heart broke twice, and yet you couldn't bring yourself to think that you hate him now. You loved him as a memory - a beautiful, happy memory, and it was time to let go now.
Chan re-emerged next to you, a bag with four bottles of soju and piping hot ramen in his hands.
"Um -" You nearly laughed at the sight of him struggling to carry everything. "Am I missing something? Are the clients your drinking buddies?"
"Sit, sit, please." Chan arranged everything down on the ledge.
"Not that I'm ungrateful, but I am confused."
"I, uh." He sat down next to you, removing his jacket. "I'm sorry. Please don't be mad at me."
Stopping halfway from opening a bottle, you looked up at him.
"y/n, Minki had me watch over his desk, and I... I'm sorry, I saw your messages."
"Chan, that was private." You looked down at your shoes, feeling the heaviness in your chest again.
"I know. And I'm sorry." He grabbed the bottle from you and opened it himself. "Minki had to run to another meeting, and I saw how sad you were. I just figured I'd help you escape for a bit. I called in a favor from the interns to watch your stuff, so we could... do this, I guess."
You'd always known Chan was a softie. He was that guy in the office who never forgot about birthdays and important events. He was never late, and he would do everything he could to help out the new people. Even to you, he was a big help whenever you needed it.
"Again, I'm sorry." He poured two shots and handed you one. "But you looked like you needed it, so - cheers."
You watched him as you threw back your soju. You stifled a smile, "Pitiful, isn't it. Still feeling like you've been dumped even after an entire year."
Chan winced as the alcohol hit the back of his throat. "Not at all. Who said that a year was the right time to get over someone? There's no rule for that."
You continued to sip slowly, watching him open up all the snacks.
"I haven't had a girlfriend in years, and I swear, after my last girlfriend and I broke up, I couldn't stop thinking about her even because of the littlest things. It wasn't a bad breakup, but when you have so many happy moments with someone, you can't help but feel sad when you see that person making new moments with someone else. It makes you wonder if that could've been me, y'know?"
It couldn't be stopped. One deep breath and suddenly all the tears started pouring out. You couldn't control your breathing, and it felt like the weight of the world finally came crashing down on your chest, reminding you of every little happy memory that had to be released into the ocean like confetti.
Chan rushed over, placing his jacket on your shoulders. He hushed you, rubbing your arms to warm you up. Crouching down in front of you, he pulled you up and brought you into his chest.
"Wait, I'll get makeup on your shirt -"
He laughed at your childish worries. "It's just a shirt. Just go ahead, it's okay. I can get it dry-cleaned, and you're worth more than some shirt."
Feeling your tears soak up in the cotton, you just cried, and Chan let you until it felt like there was nothing left. You chest was still heaving, but you felt the weight lift slowly. The sea air started filling your lungs again like an icy burn.
"I'm sorry." You finally looked up, mascara stained on your cheeks. You smeared what you could from your face before sitting.
"Stop apologizing." Chan sat down beside you again. "Do you feel better?"
"A little."
Placing his hand on yours, Chan smiled. It was a warm gentle smile. He squeezed, "It will get better. I promise."
"I just feel like everyone keeps moving on, and I'm just stuck here."
"Where is 'here' to you? 'Here' to me is existing with a good job with good friends and a good life. 'Here' is anything you're doing happily without him." He reached up to cup your cheek. "I know you feel miserable, but your body won't let you feel this way forever. And neither will I. Please don't feel as if 'here' is an awful place. 'Here', you have me, and I'll stay until you're not sad anymore."
Peering up at him with red eyes, you smiled with whatever energy you had. Sadness still sat on your shoulders, but it didn't feel so awful anymore.
Chan nodded towards you.
"Until you're not sad or until you ask me to leave - I'll be here for you."

You trudged down the empty hallway, your body slumped with exhaustion and feet hurting from wearing the ridiculously high heels to impress a man who never showed up. The silence in the empty halls was deafening unlike the crowded diner which was buzzing with lovestruck couples on the fine evening of Valentine’s Day. When you reached his door, you were barely hanging in there. Hesitantly, you knocked twice, immediately cursing yourself for fucking up his Valentines Day as well.
“Y/N?” Jensen tilted his head in confusion at your dejected state. “What happened?”
“I am done with dating.” A stray tear rolled down your cheek as you replied. Jensen pursed his lips as he opened the door wider to let you in. He threw an arm over your shoulder, guiding you towards the couch.
“Mike was a douchebag.” He said, as you plopped down on the blue couch.
“His name is Mark.” You rolled your eyes at him, “I dressed up all for nothing. I am done trying to find the perfect man. I will get a cat and become a cat lady. At least it will show up when we have a cat date with cat food and pizza.”
“You can't just swore off dating because Macaroni didn't show up.” Jensen smirked. “You just haven't met the right person yet.”
“I got stood up thrice within a span of two months. I surely know how to pick them.”
“Sweetheart, I'm so sorry but I know you'll definitely meet the right person. It's just a matter of time.” He rubbed your arm as you snuggled closer to him. “Should we order takeout? I am starving.”
“Mhm. I wouldn't mind some chinese. I'm sorry that I fucked up your plans for the night.” You said.
“I didn't exactly have anything better to do. Spending time with you is much better than third wheeling Jared and Gen.” He chuckled.
“What am I doing wrong, Jay? Something is definitely wrong with me or the entire male population is a douchebag.” You sighed, as Jensen took out his phone to place an order in your favourite Chinese restaurant.
“Y/N/N, nothing's wrong with you and there are good men out there in the world.” He said.
“They are all taken.” You replied, nonchalantly.
“I'm not.” Jensen said and your heart skipped a beat at his words.
“Maybe I was too blind to notice it,” you wanted to say instead you blurted out, “You're my best friend, Jensen.”
His hands dropped to the side as he visibly tensed up. An unbearable silence followed the awkward conversation. You could barely look at the actor beside you who was staring off into the distance, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. Fortunately you were both saved from further conversation by the delivery guy.
You bit down on your lip to stop the yawn that was threatening to leave as you pretended to listen to the man in front of you complain about his work life. You hummed along to the man’s words as your mind reeled back to that night at Jensen's house. You still didn't know why you didn't speak about your true feelings. Even though his little confession didn't break you two up, whenever you used to hang out, a discomfort lingered in the air and so you had ditched the weekly movie night the day before.
After another painfully long hour, your extremely bad date came to a very fortunate end. As a sign of politeness, you had agreed with Luke, your date, when he had offered to drop you at your doorstep. With no promises for a second date, you had left Luke’s car after successfully dodging his attempt at a kiss. You sprinted across the usually empty hallway and found yourself in front of Jensen's room. You knocked at his door.
“So I was on a date and oh god, time wasn't passing by at all! Luke was such a boring guy. I surely do know how to pick the guys- and I'm so sorry I didn't come yesterday for our weekly movie night-” You rambled on as soon as Jensen opened the door without giving him a chance to pitch in his two cents.
“It's okay.” He finally spoke but his words were soon forgotten when you saw the half-naked brunette standing behind him, glaring at you.
“I'm sorry,” You turned your attention to the man in front and noticed the swollen lips, tousled hair and his unbuttoned jeans, “I didn't know you had company.”
“Next time try to call before you barge in complaining about yet another bad date.” Jensen grumbled, rolling his eyes before he shut his door to your face. You stared at the closed door, crestfallen as tears started to pool in your eyes. You made your way back to your room which was on the next floor in the same apartment building all the while wondering if your insecurities had really messed up a good friendship.
Jensen had neither heard nor seen you since he had closed the door on your face. He winced every time he remembered how rudely he had pushed you out of his apartment when Jessica was over. He was finally trying to move on since now he knew how you felt. Jensen was definitely hurt when you made it clear that you didn't reciprocate his feelings but he didn't hate you. You were still his best friend so it hurt when you had started to distance yourself from him, even ditching him on your weekly movie night. All that bottled up frustration had turned into anger when you had knocked on his door the next night to complain about your boring date but he still regretted the way he had told you off.
“Is Y/N going to come to Gen’s party?” Jared asked his tv brother during one of the takes.
“I don't know. Why don't you ask her yourself?” Jensen snapped as he went back to reading his script.
“What happened?” The hazel eyed actor frowned at his friend's behaviour.
“I haven't talked to her in weeks nor have I seen her.” Jensen grumbled.
“You two are like the Siamese twins and now you are saying you haven't even talked to her? Dude, what happened? Jared asked. “Maybe you should talk to her.” He said after Jensen opened up about what happened.
“I have called her. Dozens of times. She is not picking up.” He scoffed.
“Gen is going to invite her I suppose. Maybe you can talk to her then.” Jared shrugged as they were called back on to set.
Jared was right about everything. You were invited to Gen’s backyard birthday party and so was Jensen. You had hesitated before you finally made up your mind to go to the Padaleckis' because you knew someday you had to face Jensen. When you had returned home that night, you had realised why no one was ever good enough for you since the perfect person for you was right in front of you but your insecurities had made you blind. You knew you had missed your chance when you had caught him with the brunette but what hurt more was when he shoved you out of his apartment.
Jensen had called you a dozen times but you hadn't picked up. You didn't know what to say and the longer you stayed away from him, your feelings for him grew stronger so instead you started to avoid him like plague, trying your best to move on.
The clinking sound of bottles behind you pulled you out from your deep thought.
“Hey.” Jensen awkwardly said.
“Hi.” You returned the same awkwardness.
“You weren't picking up my calls. I'm sorry for the other night.” He said, his gaze quickly dropping to the floor.
“It's all right.”
“No it's not. Then you wouldn't have avoided me.” He said. “I know things have been awkward since that night but no hard feelings. It's perfectly okay if you don't feel the same. I just want my best friend back.”
“I do feel the same.” You muttered quietly which made him look up to you. Jensen stared at you dumbfounded.
“Then why didn't you tell me?” He finally said.
“I panicked. I got scared because you know me, I don't do well with men and I thought if we didn't work out, I would lose you.” Your lips trembled ever so lightly as you stared into his green eyes.
“You won't ever lose me.” Jensen walked up to you, “Even if things don't work out relationship-wise. I will always be your best friend.”
“I don't wanna lose you. You're my person, Jay. So I lied not realising that I had pushed you away myself.” You said.
“I will always be your person just like you're mine but I can't fight this feeling anymore. I think I'm in love with you and I don't know what to do.” He said while walking up to you.
“Maybe you do know now.” He leaned down, cupping your face, his lips hovering over yours. You closed your eyes, feeling his hot breath fan against your skin but then you felt him pull back. You opened your eyes as you saw him stare at you with a look of regret in his eyes.
“I can't.” Jensen sighed.
“Why?”
“I have a girlfriend.” You gaped at him, heart broken into millions of pieces. Before Jensen could get another word out, you fled the scene.
“Hey Y/N.” Gen beamed. “Are you going home already?”
“Yeah I think I'm coming down with something. Sorry Gen. Happy birthday, again.” You said and wasted no time to get into your car and quickly drove back to your home.
Jensen had repeatedly called you since you had fled the Padaleckis’ house but you hadn't picked up. The first two days you had hardly left your house. You had been sobbing uncontrollably. You had bared your heart and soul to the man you had fallen head over heels only to get your heart broken.
You were lying on your couch, watching a sappy romantic movie when you heard a knock on your door. Pausing the movie midway you got up to open the door.
“Hi.” The green eyed man spoke quiet as when you opened the door. The sight of him brought tears to your eyes again. He was carrying a box of chocolate and a bottle of wine. “I would have brought flowers but I know how sad you get when they start to wilt.”
“What're you doing here?”
“I heard a guy hurt my best friend so I'm here with chocolates and wine.” He smirked. You snatched the box of chocolates from his hands as you held the door wide open.
“Sappy romantic comedy? Oh sweetheart, want me to kick the guy's ass? He deserves it. No one hurts my best friend.” He said as he pulled you into a tight hug. The intoxicating smell of his cologne finally breaking you. “I'm so sorry.”
“I'm so sorry too.” You sniffled as you looked up at him. “Our timings sucked.”
“It did. Can we start afresh?” Jensen smiled.
“What about your girlfriend? I don't wanna be your ‘slutty mistress’.” You said, quoting Grey’s Anatomy which made him chuckle.
“I broke up with her. I tried to date other girls to keep you off my mind but there wasn't a single damn second when you didn't cross my mind because I am totally, completely, hopelessly in love with you.” He grinned as he leaned down to kiss your cheek.
“I am in love with you too, Jay.” You said, “Kiss me.” Jensen dropped his head as he leaned into you, capturing your lips with his. His hands travelled all the way down your body before stopping at your waist. He gripped you tightly and pulled you closer, your hands landed on his biceps as you tried to steady yourself. His teeth grazed your lips lightly, making you moan into his mouth. Your hands left his biceps, hooking themselves at the nape of his neck, your fingers tugging at his hair, eliciting a groan out of him.
“Are you trying to turn me on or are you just that oblivious?” He growled into your ear.
“Is it working?” You smirked. Jensen growled once more into your ear before pulling away from you. He effortlessly picked you up, your legs hooking behind him as he went towards the bedroom.
Panting hard you tried to come down from your high as you felt him go soft before he pulled out. He placed a chaste kiss on your lips and rolled off to the side. His chest heaved as he tried to control his breathing, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Lost in an euphoric state, you didn't notice when Jensen had left the bed to get a cloth to clean you up. After a few minutes, he returned back to bed. You laid there in his arms, naked, basking in the afterglow of what was actually the best sex of your life. Jensen was tracing tiny, imperfect circles on your arm as a sigh of contentment left his lips. Your back flushed against his chest, smiling, you spoke.
“We might be each other’s last first kiss.” You turned towards, kissing the corner of his mouth.
“No more bad dates. No more bad first kisses. You're mine.” Jensen whispered.
“You're it. You're my person. My world is a better place with you in it.” You said, snuggling against his warm chest. “I love you.”
Feedback is highly appreciated!

Once a year sick- an Roleslaying with Roman Age Regression Fanfic
Summary:“Hey, I’m really sorry about yesterday...” “What happened?” “I don’t really know, it’s the strangest thing: every year on my birthday I get sick.” “Sick?” “Yeah, I get all emotional and weak...I feel young. It’s weird, man.” “Sweetie, you don’t know?” “Don’t know what?”💜🖤SFW age Regression 💜🖤 Little!Youngblood CG!RomanYoungblood gets sick once a year, but is he really sick?
Roman wasn't supposed to be here, but he couldn't let his friend be alone on his birthday, even if he hates it.
"You hate your birthday? "Roman had asked him. "Why?"
"Not everyone likes being the center of attention, Roman, "He answers.
Which was fair enough, some people don't like crowds. But to spend a birthday completely alone without friends or even a little bit of family?! That seemed horrible.
"So, what do you do?"He asked.
"For what?"
"Your birthday. You're all alone with no family, I just-"
"It's none of your business," he shrugs, his tone neutral.
He always does that, always acts like anything personal wasn't important, even if it clearly was.
And when Roman expressed his concern to his own family, his aunt suggested they make a cake for him. His father on the other hand thought it would be best to leave Youngblood alone and respect his privacy...
So Roman and his aunt patty made the cake to take to Youngblood.
Youngblood had recently moved to the village in a small well-known Inn. He claimed he just didn't want to live in the woods anymore, but Roman wondered if maybe youngblood actually wanted to live there to live closer to him.
Roman walked into the inn and up the stairs to Youngblood's room. Though he knew it was wrong- he just had to make sure Youngblood really wanted to be alone today- he could change his mind? If not, he could just drop off the cake and leave. Simple.
"Hello? Youngblood are you home?" Roman asks. "I know you hate your birthday, and you don't want me here, but I just wanted to wish you a perfectly normal Tuesday and drop off this normal not birthday cake my aunt and I made for no reason at all. Do you like chocolate? You're not allergic or anything are yo-"
Something was wrong...
"...Youngblood? "Roman called.
He heard a whimper and the sound of someone crying.
"Youngblood?! Is everything ok?!"He shouts, running towards the other room.
'Ohnoohnoohnoohno please be ok!' Roman's mind was going a thousand miles per hour, what if his friend was seriously hurt? "Youngblood?!"he yelled louder, silently praying that he was ok.
He found Youngblood crying, hiding under a mountain of blankets and pillows in his room. "Youngblood, are you ok? What happened? "He asked, sitting on the floor next to his little tent.
Youngblood only whined softly in response.
Roman looked him over
Youngblood hid his face with his hands as if that would hide him completely from Roman.
How cute.
"Hey, it's ok. It's me, Roman. I'm your friend. I am not going to hurt you."
Youngblood un-hid his face but still didn't meet Roman's gaze.
"Can I touch you? "Roman asked.
Youngblood shrugged.
Roman moved his hand slowly to cup Youngblood's cheek, rubbing the side of it softly with his thumb. Youngblood flinched, but then leaned into the touch, craving more of his friend's comforting affection. When Romans hand moved away, he whined and starts to cry again as he tried to follow Roman's hand.
"Hey, hey. Whybie, you're ok. Come here." Roman held his arms open offering the little a hug, and Youngblood happily took it.
Roman tries not to smile when he realizes this is the first time he has ever really hugged his friend. "What's wrong, Whybie? Did something happen? Hmm?"
Youngblood didn't answer, only snuggles closer to Roman. He just wanted someone to hold him right now.
Roman held on, rubbing his back in a calm circular motion in order to soothe him.
"It's ok, Whybie. I'm here. You're ok."
Youngblood bit the tip of his thumb in attempt to comfort himself. And Roman honestly wasn't sure whether to tell him not to do that or let him be, that is until he found a pacifier sitting on the floor.
Perfect.
"Are you thirsty, bud? "Roman asks.
Youngblood nodded his head.
"Alright, let's see what you got, "Roman says. He puts the pacifier in his pocket as he starts to get up off the floor, moving Youngblood off his lap, youngblood whines and grabs Roman's shirt in attempt to cling onto him more.
"Whybie, I'm not strong enough to carry you, "Roman tries to explain. But Youngblood doesn't care, he doesn't want to move.
"How about if you hold my hand and follow me to the kitchen? "Roman suggests, "would that be, ok?"
Youngblood thinks about it, and finally grabs Roman's hand, allowing Roman to lead him to the kitchen.
"There we go, aren't you a good little elfling?"Roman coos.
Youngblood blushed a little as Roman helps him onto a chair.
Roman opens the fridge and pours a cup of juice for the youngling. "Here we go, bloodie,"he says.
Youngblood takes it and drinks without thinking twice about it, which was honestly kind of strange for him, Youngblood had always been cautious of everything, did this mean Youngblood actually trusted Roman? Or was this just a headspace thing?
"What do we say? "Roman asks.
"Tanks yu, Ro," Youngblood says.
"You're very welcome, elfling. Thank you for being so polite."
Roman rinsed off Youngblood's pacifier so that when he was done with his juice, he wouldn't have to put his thumb back in his mouth.
"Youngblood, do you know what today is? "Roman asked.
"Mmm, tooday?"He asked.
"Yes, it's Tuesday. But it's also someone's birthday. Whose birthday, is it?"
"Me? "Youngblood asked.
Roman gasped, "you're absolutely right! Good job, Whybie!"
Youngblood giggled and hid is face from Roman.
"Are you a shy baby? "Roman asked, teasingly.
"Mmmm,"Is the only sound he made as he hid himself more and more in his jacket.
Roman giggled. "That's ok, little one. Would you like me to make you something to eat?"
"ooup? "Youngblood asked.
"Soup, ok. What kind of soup?"
"Matto?"
"Tomato soup, I can do that. "
"An samitch?"
"Grilled cheese sandwich? "Roman asked.
Youngblood nodded.
Roman looked to see if Youngblood had both bread and cheese before he answered: "I can definitely do that."
Youngblood giggled happily.
Oh, how Roman loved to him happy. "Alright, why don't you go play and I'll tell you when it's done, yeah?"
"Mkay, ro,"he says before running up to his room.
'What a well behaved little, 'Roman thought to himself.
~~~~
After lunch Roman thought it would be a good time to re-introduce YB to his aunt's special chocolate cake.
"Would you like some cake, Whybie?"Roman asked.
Youngblood shrugged.
"Maybe just a little bit? "Roman suggests, "it is your birthday after all. You deserve a little treat."
"Mkay..."Youngblood mumbles.
Roman grabs a plastic spoon and takes a little bit of the cake from the pan, attempting to feed Youngblood himself-
But alas, Youngblood stops him.
"What's wrong? "Roman asked.
"Birfday cake? "Youngblood asks.
"Yes, it's your birthday cake. "Roman answers.
"But..."Youngblood sighs.
"What is it, elfling?"
"We need to sing first...right?"
"Is that so? "Roman asked.
"Mhm, the birfday song."
Roman offers a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry, Whybie. I don't know the birthday song."
"Oh. C-can I sing it tho?"
"Of course, elfling. I love hearing you sing."
Youngblood smiles, blushing a little as he started to sing to himself: "Happy birfday to me, happy birfday to me, happy birfday to me-ee, happy birfday to me."
"That was beautiful, Whybie."Roman praised. Roman still doesn't quite understand the concept of singing, but Youngblood loves it so much, so every time he sang, Roman found it quite captivating. He couldn't help but smile every time.
Youngblood smiles and blushes a little. "Thanks."
"Is that an elfin tradition? "Roman asked.
"Tradiction?"Youngblood asked.
"Did your Parents sing that song to you? "Roman asked, rephrasing the question.
That seemed to trigger some sort of memory for Youngblood- and not a good one. He spaced out and stared at the wall for a good twenty seconds.
"Whybie?" Roman asked.
No answer.
"Youngblood?"
"I asked..."He explained, "but they always say'd no."
"Oh, Whybie. I'm so sorry."
"Yeah..."Youngblood stared at the wall again but not as long. He seemed to snap himself out of it on his own. "Cake now?" He asked.
"Yes, Whybie. We can most definitely have cake now." Roman takes a piece of cake and hands it to Youngblood. "Would you like me to feed you or can you do it?"
"I can do it, "he says.
"Good job, elfling. Let me know if you need anything."
Youngblood smiles and nods. Then he covers his face in attempt to hide the flushed smile on his face.
But Roman still noticed.
As Youngblood ate his cake, Roman ate a small piece too.
He never asked Youngblood about his parents...
Was that a mistake?
Should he have asked?!
Is or has Youngblood ever been truly, ok?
"Roman? "Youngblood asked.
"Yes, elfling?"
Youngblood stood up and walked over to Roman and hugged him. "You tired, youngling?" Roman asked.
Youngblood nodded.
"let's move to the couch then," he suggests.
youngblood nodded.
He's so cute, Roman can't help but smile. He grabbed Youngblood pacifier and handed it to him.
Youngblood mumbled a very quiet 'thank you' then followed Roman to the living area to snuggle.
Roman sat down first and gestured for Youngblood to sit next to him. He did, but snuggled up close, setting his head on Roman's shoulder.
"Will you sing to me, please?" Youngblood asked.
Roman holds onto youngblood, gently petting his head. "I'm afraid I'm not very good at it."
Youngblood has been giving Roman a few singing lessons but he's still very rusty.
"All singing is good singing," Youngblood says with a shrug.
It's so fascinating and strange to Roman how much Youngblood truly loves vocal cord vibrations.
"Alright." Roman cleared his throat. He starts to hum the simple 'Do-re-mi' Youngblood had taught him.
Youngblood closed his eyes and hummed along with him.
"I will protect you with my life, "Roman whispers, stroking Youngblood's head until he fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~
The next day Roman was helping out his father as promised. Since he completely neglected his chores yesterday- it was kinda fair to do a little extra today, right?
"Hey." Youngblood approached him while he was raking the leaves.
"Hey, Youngblood. What's going on? "Roman asked.
"Listen, I just wanted to apologize for yesterday..."
"You don't have to apologize, "Roman explains. "Would you like to talk about it?"
Youngblood sighed, honestly hoping that would be the end of the conversation. "Ok, sure. I guess..."
Roman sat down on the garden bench, and after a moment of hesitation, Youngblood joined him.
"What happened? "Roman asked.
Youngblood shrugged. "I don't really know, it's the strangest thing: every year on my birthday I get...sick."
"Sick? "Roman asks, wide eyed.
"Yeah, I get all emotional and weak... my head feels so fuzzy like I can't think straight. It's weird."
"Oh sweetie, do you not know? "Roman asks.
Youngblood was a little taken back by the nickname. "Know what?"
"About your regression."
"My...what? "Youngblood asks.
"When you regress to a younger headspace in order to escape certain stresses in your life?"
"No....no no no-tha-that's not what I do, Roman." He chuckles nervously.
"Then what is it? "Roman asks, calmly.
Youngblood thought about it for a second then got up from the bench.
"Roman, I only asked one thing of you-"
Roman stood up and began trying to reason with Youngblood. "I know, but listen-"
"And what was that?"
"Don't visit you on your birthday, "Roman sighs.
"Right, and what did you do?"
"Youngblood-"
Youngblood holds up a finger to silence Roman. "You came to my house with your aunt's weird-ass cake!"
"You hold your tongue! My aunt's cake is amazing! "Roman defends, "and it was chocolate, ok? Not burro!"
"You overstepped..."Youngblood said.
Roman sighs and takes a step back. "Yeah. I know, I know. And I'm sorry."
Youngblood scoffs. "No, you're not. You're not sorry. Because you always do this- I can't believe you would even think to-"
"Youngblood, I realize it was wrong, but you know what? In some ways, you're absolutely right. I'm not really that sorry! "Roman shouted.
Youngblood stopped talking to let Roman finish, he has never raised his voice like that at him before.
"I'm sorry that I betrayed your trust, but you needed someone to be there with you, bloody. The Youngblood I saw in there was not the brave, cunning, beautifully skilled and independent elf I know. But a scared little elfling who just needed a hug- and I was not going to leave you there helpless and scared. I'm not sorry that I was there for you."
Youngblood held his arms with his hands in attempt to comfort himself.
"Whybie?" Roman asked.
A familiar scared expression fell upon Youngblood's face. "Thanks for your help, Roman. I do appreciate it..."
"You know I'll always be here for you, right? "Roman asked.
"But you don't have to-"
"I want to. You've always been there for me. You knew I needed help with the robbery fiasco, and you helped. I didn't have to ask twice. Now you don't either."
Youngblood took a deep breath.
"Is it really only once a year? "Roman asked.
"It's the only time of year I can't really control it..."
"Did you really think it was a sickness?"
"Are you telling me it's not?"
"Yes, Youngblood. It's most definitely not a sickness."
"Roman, normal elves don't-"
"I don't care what normal elves or what normal people do, "Roman explains. "I care about you. Don't you understand that?"
Youngblood licked his lips and sighed. "Okay, "he mumbles. There was no point in arguing with Roman, he cares too much.
"Youngblood?"Roman asked.
"Yes? "He grumbles.
"If you feel the need to be little again, even if it's not your birthday...and if you need someone to be there for you. Don't hesitate to ask me, ok? I'll be there, happily so."
"I won't need it..."he insists. Youngblood starts to walk away but pauses, "thanks."
Roman smiles, and Youngblood smiles back.
Everything was going to be okay... But that doesn't mean Roman was going to stop worrying.
"See you tomorrow? "Roman asked.
Youngblood sighed, "yeah."
He'll never stop worrying, so he'll always be there.

Where It Leads (Rafe Cameron)
Summer III
Part 05: With Some Other Girl
series masterlist | previous part
summary: Rafe’s actions surprised you when there’s no awkwardness lingering from last summer.
a/n: New summer new drama!! We're more than halfway through this series and I might post the final two parts within a week so be on the lookout! That's all! Enjoy part five xx
word count: 2.2k words
Nowhere on the East or West coast did seafood quite like The Wreck. During your summers in the Outer Banks, you made sure that practically every other meal consisted of their to-die-for shrimp or amazing crab. For your birthday, back in October, your mom had even looked into getting food from The Wreck shipped to you before realizing that might have been a stretch.
You waited at the bar for the girl with the curly golden brown hair, and especially kind eyes, to return from the kitchen with your order. The smells of the food cooking made your mouth water.
A boy, who looked about your younger brother's age slide onto the bar stool next to you. His dirty blond hair fell into his eyes, clearly in need of a good haircut.
"Leave the customers alone, JJ." The girl set a paper bag with your food down in front of you, grease staining the bottom.
"I wasn't even doing anything, Kie," JJ protested.
"You're total's $40.53. Do you need a receipt?" She asked, taking your mom's card from your outstretched hand.
"I'm JJ, by the way." He held out his hand for you to shake but the girl - Kie, was it? - smacked it away.
"She's way out of your league, idiot. Sorry about him," she said turning to you.
You smiled at the both of them, their playfulness reminding you of your own friends from back home. "Nice to meet you, JJ." You picked up your bag of food, turning to leave.
"She was so into me." You heard JJ whisper to Kie as you walked to the front door.
"No way, is that y/n?" You froze, a few steps away from the exit, knowing exactly who that voice belonged to. "Hey," Rafe called again. "Get over here."
You'd been back in the Outer Banks a total of three days. You definitely hadn't been planning on seeing Rafe Cameron so soon. Well, after how last summer had ended, you hadn't really been counting on seeing him at all.
You spun on your heel, plastering on your best fake smile, and headed in the direction of Rafe's voice.
It's okay. Act casual. He's just an old friend. There doesn’t have to be any weirdness. You said to yourself, trying to calm your nerves.
Rafe was seated in a corner booth at the back of the restaurant, his arm slung over Phoebe’s shoulder who, herself, was sitting practically in his lap. Her expression looked especially irate at the fact that you were interrupting their - what was going on exactly? A date?
"Uh, hey guys," you said, approaching their table.
"Y/n!" Rafe repeated. "You're back for the summer?"
"Yeah, we got in a few days ago.”
"How are you? How's the boyfriend?"
Why the fuck was Rafe asking about Evan? You wondered, your eyes narrowing trying to gather some explanation from Rafe's face.
"We actually broke up. Last September. He hasn't been my boyfriend for a while." Correction, you'd gone back to Oregon and hadn't stopped thinking about Rafe, for the second year in a row. It didn't seem fair to Evan so you’d tried to let him down gently, the week before auditions for the fall musical no less. It became pretty clear how torn up about it he was when he started crying during the monologue portion of his audition and the tears weren't the kind you forced out solely for a performance.
"How sad," Phoebe said, turning her lip down in a fake pout making it clear she couldn't care less.
You just smiled back at her, not wanting to give any kind of validation. You could feel Rafe eyes on you.
"Okay, well, I guess I'll see you around." You turned to leave. Your mom was waiting outside in the car, probably wondering what was taking so long.
"I hope so," Rafe replied.
☼☼☼
You blinked your eyes open, adjusting to the bright sunlight filling the room. You rubbed the sleep from them, yawning.
Holy shit. This was definitely not your bedroom; this was Rafe's room. The events of last night came rushing back, the morning bless falling away.
You'd run into Cleo at the grocery store after your mom had sent you to get an onion she needed for dinner. Cleo had been buying chasers for Sawyer's my-parents-aren't home-and-they-left-the-liquor-cabinet-unlocked party and invited you. And you went. Which was probably the first mistake of the night.
Rafe had greeted you at the door with the kind of smile that screamed "I don't even remember our fight last summer." You'd opted to ignore the white powder under his nose, likely the reason for his bloodshot eyes.
The party had run dry after a few hours so Rafe offered to grab some more from his house since his whole family was in the Bahamas house for the weekend. You’d went with him because what the hell. The night hadn’t even been the least bit awkward. Mistake number two.
You sat on the Cameron's island counter as Rafe riffled through the cabinet, trying to decide which bottle Ward was least likely to notice was missing.
"Do you trust me?" He’d asked.
That was a loaded question but you’d nodded your head yes. He'd pushed your knees apart, stepping in between your legs like that's where he belonged.
"Tilt your head back," he'd instructed and you had.
Rafe uncapped the bottle of Malibu, pouring it straight into your mouth. He’d hummed with satisfaction as you swallowed the liquid. Your eyes locked as he ran a thumb up your neck and over your chin, whipping away the bit that had spilled before he brought your lips to meet his. It was by far the hottest thing anyone had ever done.
The kiss had tasted salty and coconutty, like the drink he had just poured into your mouth. He moved his other hand to your hip, pulling you in closer.
You'd only broken apart to fumble your way upstairs and into his room, shedding your clothing on the way, your lips finding each other's again and again, kissing like there was some ticking clock counting down the seconds.
You remembered the way Rafe's name had tumbled off your lips with his hand between your thighs. How his blue eyes held yours as he pushed into you. The sweet praises that he whispered into your ears as the both of you came underdone together. The way it all felt so fucking right, like the universe apologizing for the last two summers.
You hadn't meant to fall asleep, to spend the night in Rafe Cameron's bed but he'd wrapped his arm around you and your head fell to rest on his chest and sleep just came.
You kept your movements slow afraid of creaky floorboard as you slipped out of his bed. Sneaking out without Rafe waking up was sure to be the path of less resistance. Hadn't last night been a drunken mistake?
Your shorts had landed next to the bed and your bra was hanging from the door handle, the irony of that wasn't lost on you.
Rafe cleared his throat. "Good morning," he said. Oh, shit. So he was awake.
"I was just looking for my shirt," you replied.
The Cameron's front door opened with a bang. Cole and Milo's voices filled the house seconds later.
"Dude," Cole hollered. "Who'd you fuck last night? Some chick's panties are on your staircase."
Rafe's eyes meet yours and he leaped out of his bed. "Linen closet," he hissed, pulling open the door of the hallway closet and pushing you inside. "Stay here."
His footsteps echoed as he rushed down the stairs, stopping at the bottom to pick up your underwear and shove them in his back pocket.
"I need a fucking boat day," Rafe said to the boys. "I'm hungover as fuck. Can you go see if the Yeti coolers' in the garage? I think Ward brought it up from the boat last time."
"Uhh, yeah, sure," Milo answered. "C'mon Cole."
The sounds of their chatter disappeared and Rafe ran back up the stairs, pulling open the closet. "Okay, the coast is clear."
"Rafe, should we...uh...you know...talk about it?"
"What's there to talk about?" He asked back.
"Right," you answered unsure if you really believed that casual sex with Rafe Cameron was a possibility. "Can I have my underwear back?"
He shrugged, a smirk growing on his lips. "Nah, I think I'm gonna hold onto them. For safekeeping." What kind of bullshit patriarchal move was that? He looked over his shoulder to the lower level. "Milo and Cole will be back any second, you should probably go."
☼☼☼
You silently thanked your yesterday-self for having left your window unlocked just in case. You closed it quietly behind you and dove into your bed. The door to your bedroom swung open seconds later.
"Why are you still in bed y/n? I told you yesterday that we were going dress shopping for Midsummers today at noon. It’s less than a week away. Get up, please," your mom said.
"Sorry, mom. I'll meet you downstairs in ten."
"Hurry up." She pulled the door closed behind her as she left your room.
You breathed a sigh of relief, throwing off the covers you had hicked up to your neck to hide last night's outfit. Shit, had you really slept with Rafe Cameron? And then he brushed it off like it wasn't going to change things? As if whatever was going between the two of you couldn't get more complicated.
☼☼☼
The light bounced off the three-way mirror you were standing in front of, making the bedding on the dress sparkle.
"Turn around," your mother instructed. Apparently, this year's Midsummers’ theme was Hollywood Glamour like it was the fucking Met Gala or something so she'd been forcing you and in out of red dresses for the past hour and a half. "I really like this one y/n. The bow is so cute."
You resisted rolling your eyes. The bow was hideous, plus the high-low skirt screamed middle school dance. The bedding was itchy and you’d hardly had the dress on for five minutes.
The front door chimed announcing a new customer and Phoebe's figure appeared in the reflection of the mirror.
"I'm gonna go try on a different one, mom," you said, trying to duck into the changing room before Phoebe had the chance to see you.
"Wait, wait wait." Your mom grabbed your hips pulling you back in front of the mirror. "I just think this looks perfect on you, sweetie. Look," she stepped behind you, using one hand to twist your hair up into a makeshift updo. "you can wear your hair pinned up like this and we can get you a sparkly headband. It'll be gorgeous.”
You definitely weren't wearing any kind of a headband based on the fact that you weren't twelve anymore but, more important, you needed to get out of Phoebe’s line of sight like now. "Yeah, okay, mom. That sounds fine. We can get it then."
"Aw, honey. Do you not like it?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. "Cause we can try a different score. Even though this is the only dress store for thirty miles," she mumbled under her breath.
Phoebe glanced over from the front counter, her eyes meeting yours in the mirror. Your mother's voice became muffled as panic rose in your chest. You hadn't even thought about it last night but now all you could remember was Phoebe with Rafe's arm wrapped around her at The Wreck.
Phoebe abandoned her position at the front of the store, walking over to you.
"Hi y/n!" She started, her voicer reaching an octave that screamed fake niceties. "You must be y/n's mom. You two couldn't look anything more alike." That was a lie. You and your mom couldn't look more different. It was your older sister who was practically your mother’s clone.
God, what game was Phoebe playing?
"Oh my gosh.” She took half a step closer forcing you to notice the couple inches she had on you. "Is this your dress for Midsummers? It's so cute," she said, somehow managing to pronounce cute with two syllables.
Another lie. The dress was terrible.
"I'm just picking up my dress too. Custom-made." Phoebe flashed a smile to your mom. "I'm trying to talk Rafe into getting a matching bow-tie but he refuses. Boys," she giggled.
Shhe must have registered the look of surprise on your face. "Oh, did he not tell you we were going together? I wouldn't take it personally. We've been going together since freshman year. It's tradition at this point."
The saleswoman returned from the back of the store, a garment bag in her hand. "Well, I've gotta run. See you around!" She pranced off, her vanilla perfume lingering in the air.
"She seems nice. I'm so glad you're making friends here, honey.”
"Oh, yeah. She’s the best." If your mom heard the sarcasm in your voice, she chose to ignore it. "I'm going to try on the black one," you huffed, heading back into the changing room.
It wasn't like going with Rafe to Midsummers was in the realm of possibilities anyway, so why was it bothering you so much that he was taking Phoebe? Either way, there was nothing stopping you from making Rafe wish it was you on his arm instead. Petty wasn’t usually your style but something about the memory of Rafe’s lip on your neck being fresh in your mind made all rational thoughts go out the window. Game on Phoebe.

Memories - lrh (Chapter Sixteen)
Memories (also on Wattpad)
Chapter Fifteen ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ Chapter Seventeen
Luke pov.
“Do it again.” Ashton asks, staring at me intently.
We were about to leave my house for my surprise party, which I discovered in less than an hour. I was rehearsing a face of surprise so as not to end the surprise, cause I know everyone worked hard for it.
I widen my eyes, breaking into a smile.
“I can't believe you deceived me.” I say with my voice altered by the ‘surprise’.
“Don't say that, it will be very obvious that you know. Says ‘I can't believe you threw a party for me’.” he suggests.
"I can't believe you threw a party for me." I redo the entire acting.
“Yep! Me either. But what doesn't M&Ms ask, that I don't do?” Ash dries the water bottle with a shrug. “I'm just kidding.” he laughs after seeing my face.
“Speaking of her…” I fill my glass with some more wine, since it's too early for us to go. “Something new?” Ashton denies, frustrated too.
“I commented that she was acting weird, but she just changed the conversation and said that she's been busy and that she was nervous about the party.” he sighs. I massage my forehead, annoyed.
"Am I going to have to put her against the wall to get something?" I look at him, not knowing what to do.
“You know this isn't going to work. She's going to run away, you're going to fight, she's going to walk away and you're going to be more annoying than you already are.” I appreciate my friend's attempt to change the mood with provocation, but it has no effect.
"I can't find any reason to give me any sign of what's going on. Was it my fault? I knew I shouldn't have stayed with her that Saturday, I pushed the situation too hard and now she's pulling away, avoiding me-”
“Oh shut up! Don't even start with that.” Irwin raises his voice, cutting mine off. "Marnie isn't like that, she doesn’t do these things. If she wasn't comfortable she was going to talk. You said yourself that she asked you to sleep there. She let you pick her up on Monday and asked you to take her home, even after you dedicated Best Years to her. She didn't run away there, because it was remarkable how much she liked the song. You should pay more attention to the way she looks at you.”
A silly laugh escapes my lips when I see Ashton imitate her looking at me and smiling. My heart warms at the possibility that she is actually falling in love with me, just as I already am with her.
"Luke, if she didn't want to get back together, she wouldn't open up so many gaps and opportunities for you to be together. She must just be confused about the feelings. That's how it looked for the first time. Look, let's analyze her behavior today, after all the stress of the party and then we get stressed.”
I agree with my friend. I'm freaking out over something that shouldn't be very important. Maybe it's all the pressure with finishing the album. The release date is approaching and sure enough, Jim freaking out in my ear for the publicity trip we were supposed to be doing, but we're still going against it due to Marnie's accident.
I don't know how many times I have to tell him I'm not leaving LA yet. This delay wasn't hindering anything, so I don't know why he makes such a point.
“Go, get rid of that dead face and let's enjoy your party.” Ash slaps my shoulder.
We left the house, heading to Jack's house, where the party would be. I've been training my face the entire way, wanting it to be as realistic as possible, even though everyone already suspects that I know.
Even if I didn't know it, the moment I see the street full of cars, I realize that I would find out there. Irwin tells them we're coming and I notice the noise of the music fade away. Discreet.
We entered the house, finding everything quiet and tidy. But when we turn to the kitchen and garden, a lot of people scream in surprise. I take a step back, like I'm really shocked.
"I can't believe you did that." I look at Ash, wanting to see that I did well. But his expression ‘so so’ disappoints me.
“In the car it was better.” he says before walking away and letting people get closer.
I don't know how many people I hugged, but I know the only one I wanted to see was the last one to arrive. I hold my breath, seeing her in a black leather skirt and a transparent black blouse, highlighting her tattoo between her breasts.
I swallow hard, cracking a nervous smile as she approaches with a huge grin, almost jumping into my lap. Unlike yesterday, where I just got a congratulations message, M&Ms hug me, leaving a lingering kiss on my cheek.
“Happy Birthday!” the gleam in her eyes proves to me she's already a little high.
I resist the urge to steal a kiss from her lips, just kissing her cheek back but giving her waist a squeeze, pressing her against my body. She seems to notice my intent, drastically changing her breathing.
"I wanted to talk to you later. If possible.” I say against her ear.
“About?” her eyes sweep me for any clues.
“Surprise.” I reveal, seeing her roll her eyes in agreement.
I watch her walk away with the girls, but she doesn't fully break eye contact with me, looking at me from afar. I let out a breath, realizing it's going to be a long night and another long battle to resist her and the urge to take her to a dark corner.
In the kitchen, where most of the drinks are, I start my work, drinking the alcohol, enjoying the burning sensation that the liquid leaves in my throat. I get distracted with video game conversation and allow my mind to relax with lighter, more relaxed topics.
The party had been going on for a few hours. My head is already light, due to the high alcohol content my body retains. I know I'm laughing at some bullshit Brian is talking about, even though his words don't make any sense in my mind. Maybe I've already had too much to drink and it's better to stop for a while. I don't want to be sick at my own party.
The term vibrates in my mind and I start searching the crowd for the cotton candy hair, worried about her condition. The feeling pulls my head out of the air, sobering me up for a few minutes.
I find her dancing hand in hand with Noah, laughing at the older man's exaggerated steps. I stare at the scene, happy that she is enjoying herself. Unlike at the beginning of the week, Marnie is now upbeat and not acting. Maybe Irwin is right and she was just stressed about the birthday party.
I push my thoughts away, concentrating on yet another beer pong game. I've played more times than I could count and I'm starting to doubt the two arms Jack has won since my last drink.
“Problems.” Michael sings beside me, pointing to the door. Pam walked in smiling excitedly, holding hands with a guy who sure as hell didn't want to be there. It's not possible…
Sobriety hits me like a cannon. All the alcohol and smoke that was in my body is gone and I am able to think clearly for the first time since I arrived.
I massage my forehead, bringing my gaze to Marnie, who's already staring at Pam without a specific expression. I cross the room with incredible ease, reaching for her, hugging her waist, pulling her to me.
“We can talk now?” Marnie didn't even seem to hear me, still staring at Pam, who was greeting some people. "M&Ms?" I call closer to her ear, but no effect. “Hey!” I drop a kiss to her temple, squeezing her waist.
Her green eyes cross mine and I can palpate the insecurity in them. Marnie just nodded, letting me lead her out of the room. We went up to a room, being alone. I look at her face, still half lost, and I approach slowly, feeling that little box weigh tons in my pocket.
“What do you want to talk about?” she gives a slight smile, turning her full attention to me.
“First I wanted to apologize for Pam. I didn't know what she was going to come.” Marnie rolls her eyes, shrugging.
“It’s OK! No need to apologize. My head is so full I don't even care about her anymore.” she sits up in bed, crossing her legs.
“And I believe she won't even mind us today, after all, she came with someone” I sat beside her.
“Yeah! Poor guy.” I let out a laugh at her pity for the poor boy. “It was just that?”
I lose myself in her eyes for a few seconds, wondering if that's all. I draw her face in my mind once more, recording every feature I fell in love with. My lips tingle as I landed my eyes on her mouth, slightly reddened by the drink.
At another time, right now she and I would be locked in some bathroom or bedroom, succumbing to desire and the alcohol in our blood. My fingertips ache amidst the memories of all the times I have run across her skin, feeling it burn under my touch.
My mind starts to cloud and the flashes of the two of us become more and more vivid. I try to push those thoughts away, but they seem to sink into my mind with force. My body heats up with every scene my mind plays. I feel the blood running the wrong way and I don't know how to stop it.
"Luke?" I'm startled by your touch on my hand. Marnie was looking at me with a mixture of curiosity and concern. “Are you okay?” I watch her hand squeeze mine, like she always did when I was angry or upset.
And just with that touch, everything stops inside me. The fire is gone and now I'm seized by a gigantic pain and rage in my chest, a rage for her being ripped from me so abruptly. I stare at her fingers moving gently, transmitting a caress throughout my body.
"Luke?" now she was looking at me extremely worried.
“Sorry. I think the drink hit.” I open a smile, trying to calm her down. M&Ms don't seem to buy much, but she smiles smugly.
“I already told you you're drinking a lot. In a little while you'll be passed out and won't even enjoy your own birthday party.” my smile widens in the midst of her care. "Don't give me that smile." she pushes my face away. "Is that all you wanted to talk about?"
“No!” this time I answer faster. “Actually, I wanted to give you something.” I fish the little white box in my pocket, feeling my fingers as soft as jelly. What if she doesn't like it? What if she gets angry?
“You know it's your birthday, right? You're the one who should get presents, not give. Especially for me.” she looks at me angrily, not wanting to accept the box.
"Well, it's my birthday and I'll do what I want, in which case I give it to you." I place the object in her hands. “I wanted to wait until your birthday, but it's still far away and I can't take it.” I lift my shoulders quickly, making her laugh.
Taking advantage of the fact that she was involved with the present, slowly, I move closer to her body, contenting myself with the least contact we have. I notice Marnie hold her breath at the sight of the blue quartz necklace, just like the one she had.
With no more reaction than that, I start to convince myself that I've fucked up and she hated it. It wasn't the time yet, as much as everything was going well, it wasn't the time yet.
“I can't believe you did this.” her voice comes out in a breath in surprise. I let my mind race to our first Christmas, where she gave me my necklace and I gave that star to her.
“If you don't like it…” my voice trails off as I see her eyes watery and filled with joy. It was the right time.
I'm not afraid to advance towards her, covering your lips with mine in a short kiss. The cherry taste becomes my favorite for the rest of the night. Marnie wipes her tears as she calls herself pathetic for crying.
"I know we used it as a dating ring, but it doesn't have to be-”
"Could you put it on for me?" she interrupts me, not caring about my fear. With my hands still trembling and cold, I close the necklace around her neck, enjoying the scene of her smiling enchanted by that stone. “Thanks!”
This time it is she who steps forward, stealing a kiss. The mood changes drastically. The screams outside seem to die in my ears, leaving only silence. The music that used to burst had ceased to exist.
That little kiss breaks, but she doesn't pull away, keeping her forehead still glued to mine. I'm startled when her eyes return to mine, I can see her perfectly there, in front of me, in my arms. I recognize that glow, that look and what it wanted to convey.
It was her there. The reason I get up every morning. The reason that makes me want to be better and better. The person I always want to impress. My girl. My Marnie.
I bring my hand to the back of her neck, bringing our lips together once more. I feel goose bumps as our tongues touch and her hand cups my face, holding me there. If she knew the last thing I want is to run away…
I'm surprised I feel despair on her side. The urgency on her lips. The need for the touch of her hands, the way they ran through my hair, the back of my neck and chest.
Easily, I pull her onto my lap, moaning, feeling her body against mine after so long. The fire that had previously ceased inside me, runs again through my veins, making everything too cloudy. I can't reason whether this was right or not. We both drink too much. She still hasn't given me full openness to so much attitude, even though she's still here, kissing me.
I try for a few minutes to clear my mind, to be a little rational and not get carried away by emotion, but the sound her mouth makes when I touch her neck with my lips ruins whatever train of thought I was building.
I touch the exact spots that make her moan and scramble for more friction. I watch thirstily as her eyes roll back and her lip is bitten in an attempt to control the moans. Her nails scratch the back of my neck, releasing an electric current that migrates between my legs.
I gasp when I feel her rub against my groin, spreading a current throughout my body. I want to beg her to do it again, but it's not really necessary, she knows and she does. So excruciating, but so good. Again I am startled to find that glow that I knew so much. I wonder where this Marnie was all along.
I shove my hand inside her shirt, enjoying her burning skin. I stroke the spot below her bra with my thumb, wanting not to frighten her. I suck the skin under her ear, lapping it with my tongue. My body combusts as she stirs and presses her crotch harder against mine. I cup her breast with enjoyment, hearing her call my name the way I liked it best.
Her desperate hands run inside my jacket, wanting to throw it away. I was ready to help when a heavy knock on the door disrupts our moment.
"What the fuck is it?" anger rips up my throat, causing a very angry scream. So much time to interrupt.
"It's time to cut the cake." I hear Calum's voice and feel like throwing him from the second floor.
“Serious? Stick the cake in your-” two small hands cover my mouth, preventing me from continuing.
“We're on our way, Cal.” Marnie yells louder and breathless.
I watch your body soften, lost and, I fear, even regretful. She is no longer there. She avoids looking at me, perhaps out of shame.
“It was better this way.” her sweet voice comes closer to a whisper.
“Was?” I stare at her, not wanting to accept that I was the only one to feel it. I know I wasn't, because her expression tells me I'm right.
“Was! You know it was.” her tone is still sweet, but her gaze is hard. "I think we'd better go downstairs." she gets up carefully, getting out of bed. I throw my head against my hands, visibly frustrated.
"Go ahead, I need to get both heads in place." I throw my body against the mattress.
“Sorry, Luke.” I can't stand her feeling guilty when she's the biggest victim of all this.
"M&Ms?" I leap out of bed, grabbing her before disappearing through the door. “It's not your fault. I'm the one who lost control, I'm sorry. You didn't give me the opening to attack you like that and I let myself go…” her lips silence me.
“It wasn't anyone's fault, can we do that?” I nod, stealing the last kiss before I let her go. "I'll wait for you downstairs." she announce.
I turn around, heading back to bed, still feeling frustration coursing through my veins.
“Hey!” I turn to see her there, standing in the doorway. My chest races with yearning from the many times I've seen her do the same scene. My ears and heart ache wanting to hear those words that always came next. Those three words that were so beautiful in her mouth. “Thanks for this.” she smiles and leaves.
I stare at the wood, snapping back to reality. I'm such an idiot for thinking she was going to say she loves me. I hide my face, exhausted. I look across the bed, able to see the two of us there, so given to each other.
I replay the scene in my head, tasting her kiss on my lips. Feeling my body tingle, still wanting her touch. The pressure on my pants becomes bigger and more uncomfortable. I need to make this go away. I scramble my mind for many things to calm myself down, but I can't. I can still feel her hands running around the back of my neck and her groin against mine.
"Shit!" I give up, going to the bathroom and locking myself in there. I don't care if I'm late, or what they think. I won't be able to eliminate this with thoughts alone.
I lower my pants and underwear, releasing my already throbbing member. I run my hand over it, making my body vibrate in relief. I let my mind flood with all thoughts and memories with her, feeling my body inflate further.
I increase my speed, being able to feel her touch through my body. I punch the wall, feeling my stomach contract. I rest my forehead against the cool coating, letting out several sighs. Her eyes flash in my mind.
The many times I've seen her face twist in pure orgasm under my touch. That smirk and that vulgar glow she always lets off before pulling me aside. And I always did, like a puppy.
My breathing gets out of control as I reach my orgasm. A wave of relief and lightness overcomes me, along with a wave of guilt. It must have been the 15th time since it all happened.
I can't have her. I can't stand the idea of looking for someone else, even though we are not officially together, so I have to get by with baths and my bare hands, but as a result I feel like the dirtiest human being, as she doesn't even suspect.
I walk down the stairs, not attracting any attention. I find her sitting on the couch, on Leah's lap, laughing at some imitation Ashton was doing. I approach the group, who make no fuss about my delay.
I pick up the bottle of white wine on the coffee table, flipping half the contents. I feel her green eyes burn on me and I don't even have the courage to reciprocate by ignoring her.
“Is everything OK? Sorry if I messed something up.” Hood says next.
“It's OK! In fact, it was better, if you didn't show up, we would have done something stupid.” I say dry.
"Is that why this sour face?" he raises an eyebrow.
"I'm feeling awful for almost bringing her to this and not having the conscience to stop." I reveal a part of the guilt that burns in me.
“Luke, you are not complete strangers. And maybe she really wanted to go further, she just didn't know how. After all, at that moment she was supposed to be your f-”
"I know!" I cut it off, not wanting to hear the rest of the sentence.
For my salvation, someone starts to sing happy birthday and the matter is closed. I open a smile disguising the shit my head was on. Michael puts a little purple hat on my head, blowing a plastic horn, very excited.
The scene makes me laugh, relieving the stress. I watch Leah and Kyleen swing colorful pom poms behind Marnie, who is holding a small cake with several candles.
I look deep into her eyes, noticing her happiness to be there and somehow mine too. After all, she's here, even if she doesn't remember much, she's still here. The accident could have been a lot worse and I could have lost her forever.
I push the damn thoughts away, blowing out the candles and driving everyone crazy. I'm surprised when Marnie leans in, stealing a kiss, not caring that she's in front of everyone. Her rosy cheeks manage to steal a smile far bigger than Michael did.
In the back of the room, I notice Pam with her arms crossed and sulking. I don't know if Marnie did it on purpose, intent on teasing, but something she did, and if Pam is pissed off, we're happy.
The clock was already showing around 5:00 in the morning. I've already fluctuated my alcohol level more times than I can count. While the boys filled me with rum, M&Ms filled me with water and food, afraid I would go into an alcoholic coma or whatever. Of course I took advantage of her concern and all the attention she was giving me.
At some point during the party, Michael took over the DJ's table and there we were, jumping up behind him, singing I Want It That Way at the top of our lungs, with the lost girls trying to do the choreography. That was definitely the best thing about the party, right after my moment with Marnie in the bedroom.
Right after his moment commanding the party's playlist, Clifford decided to climb on the roof to jump into the pool. Something that was already taking a while to happen. What he and no one expected was Marnie yelling at him, worried.
“It's comical, because if it weren't for the amnesia and the lack of alcohol, she would be the one on the roof.” Irwin comments lying beside me, watching the scene of her yelling at Michael, asking him to come down.
“And we called the fire department because she got stuck again.” I shake my head, wanting not to laugh at the memories. “Good times.” I'm toasting my friend, still watching her worriedly behind the older one.
Sitting in the garden, talking to some friends, I watch the girl laughing in a circle with Noah and Calum. She gets up, walking into the house, returning in a few minutes. I watch her come around, stopping behind me.
“Now the one who needs to talk is me.” she whispers in my ear. I don't think twice about taking your hand and heading out of the wheel chat.
I can see a large package in her hands and the idea of being my gift makes me anxious. A little farther away from the mess that remained, she hands me the black box with a gold bow on top. Before opening it, I take a look at her excited smile, letting out a laugh.
I find five rings and three necklaces arranged around the box. I can't hold back the smile, seeing what she's chosen. I know I might look like an idiot for some jewelry, but it's amazing jewelry she picked out.
“You liked?” she bites her lower lip, curious.
“I loved!” I hug your body, thanking her. I know she has no intentions other than to give me a birthday present, but of course I will wear these rings and necklaces with more affection than usual. “Thanks.” I mean, still ecstatic.
Hand in hand, we approached the crowd again, bumping into Kiki, Sophie and Michael.
“We were thinking about going to Michael's house. The party is already boring and I'm hungry.” Kiki comments. I look a little offended at her, after all, that was my birthday party. “Oh! Nothing personal.” she laughs, slapping me on the shoulder.
“What do you think?” I ask the M&Ms, who shrug their shoulders. "Have you talked to the rest?"
“Leah was going to call Noah and Ash, we were going to rescue Calum.”
“OK! We'll get our stuff and meet you at the door.” Marnie agrees and so we disperse.
Still holding hands, we walked back upstairs, looking for her bag. In the kitchen, I grab a bottle of vodka, a tequila, and a whiskey, trying to put everything in my bag, but it doesn't quite work.
“We should take advantage of the gathering and have your liver funeral.” I turn to Marnie who glares at me, seeing three bottles in my arm and me struggling to open one of beer.
Easily, we made our way to the front door, finding Kiki and Sophie. Gradually, everyone arrived and so we left the party, without saying goodbye to anyone.
“Uh, tequila?” Hood comes towards me, hugging the bottle.
Michael's house was the closest and, having drunk too much, we thought we'd better walk.
On the way, we stopped at a bakery, buying a bunch of things to eat. The day was already showing signs of life when we arrived at Mike's house. At the dinner table, we spread out the stolen drinks and food, starting our round table, as well as picking up several board games that Michael kept.
“I wanted to propose a toast to Mr. Luke Hemmings.” Noah draws the toast, making everyone raise their glasses and bottles. “One of the few people worth meeting in this hellish city where you can't trust anyone. The other people are unfortunately not present…”
A shower of paper balls and food flies towards the 20 minutes older twin. I'm surprised when I watch Marnie leave my arms, standing up.
“I also wanted to give a speech.”
“You didn't have to, babe.” I say, shaking her hand that still had our fingers intertwined.
“It's not about you.” she sticks out her tongue, causing everyone to scream.
“Ouch!” I put my hand to my chest, accepting the blow and still feeling my heart race.
“Shut up.” she screams, laughing. “Well, I wanted to make this toast in thanks to all of you. I know it's been three years of friendship, but for me it's only been a month and even with all the confusion and breakup.” her fingers squeeze mine and I move them, giving them a light caress. “You still took me in and took great care of me. I am eternally grateful for that. Leah doesn't even start crying, I need to get this over with and if I cry it's going to go wrong.” the mood breaks a little with the laughter. “Bottom line, I just want to say that whatever the future holds, I like you all a lot and that this isn't just a bunch of crazy friendship the universe threw at me, it's the family I've been looking for. As Noah said, you're the few people worth living in this hell of a city and I love you all so much. Cheers!”
Everyone raises their glasses once more, toasting her speech. I cross my gaze with Leah, who has also noticed something odd. She still hadn't commented on Monday's episode and I still had it hanging around in my mind.
It was very visible that something was troubling her. Her eyes wandering lost, her disappearance since Monday until today, claiming to be super busy and out of time. Everyone was sensing that something was wrong, but she wouldn't let go or comment on it.
“Especially you.” I focus my attention on her, who settles back into my arms. “Regardless of our future, I like you very much.” she whispers, before pressing her lips to mine. “Please never forget that. Promise?”
I get lost in her eyes, noticing a hint of fear and pain in them. It's horrible to see her like this and not know what to do. For nothing in this world I want her to feel unprotected or alone, she said herself that we are a family, so she wouldn't have to face anything alone.
“Only if you promise me you'll tell me what's going on.” I play hard, not caring if this becomes an issue between us, or if it pushes her away a little.
“Luke…” my name comes out in a painful sigh.
"Marnie." I say her name harshly, wanting her to understand that I won't change my mind.
“I'll tell. Just not today. Today is your day and that's what matters to me. So please let's enjoy?” she begs. As always, I surrender, nodding. I drop a kiss to her forehead, before pulling her to my chest again.
Hastings still looks at me suspiciously and unfortunately I only have reason to agree with her. Something was up with Marnie and she didn't want to tell us.
A minute of silence, our baby is turning 25 today and I am not knowing how to handle it.

[Gakuen K] Yata Misaki Route Translation
What day is it today?
LIST OF CHAPTERS
[Translation under the cut]
Yata: Hey, Kamamoto! Do you remember what day is it today?
Kamamoto: Good morning, Yata-san. Of course, I remember.
Yata: I thought so. Today is my b-...
Kamamoto: It's “Sea Day”!
Yata: ...Ah?
Kamamoto: It used to be a day off, but it was moved to the 3rd Monday of the month so that the holidays would run consecutively. Did you know that?
Yata: Yeah... you're right! Isn't there something else...?
Kamamoto: Uh, was there?
Yata: Seriously, how could you forget...?
Kamamoto: I remembered!
Yata: Finally! Idiot, don't make me nervous.
Kamamoto: It's the day to announce the first semester's top students!
Yata: Haaa!?
Kamamoto: As someone who is not very smart, I appreciate the fact that only the top names are announced, but I would like to see my name on the list at least once.
Kamamoto: Did you know that there is a rumor that you can get a monthly meal ticket in the school cafeteria? I'm so jealous!
Yata: ...
Kamamoto: Eh. Was there anything else? Hmmm...
Yata: I-I don't care if you don't know! ...Damn it.
Kamamoto: ...He's gone.
Saya: Kamamoto-kun, wasn't that a bit too much?
Kamamoto: It's fine, it's fine. Yata-san is not the kind of person who'd be upset over something like this.
Kamamoto: More importantly. We have to make sure the operation doesn't fail. Are you ready?
Saya: I'm ready. I hope everything goes as planned. Let's do our best!
Kamamoto: Let’s do!
Yata: That Kamamoto... I waited until the end of class, but he didn't remember…
Yata: ...All right. This is not a situation to be so down about.
Yata: He may have forgotten about it, but Mikoto-san and the others haven't!
Yata: Hellooo...Hey.
Yata: W-Why is it so dark here? Hey, hey...Is anyone here? Anybody?
Yata: Mikoto-san. Kusanagi-san...
Yata: ...
Yata: Totsuka-sa-...
Yata: Whoa! What the...What the hell was that? I heard it from over there.
Yata: W-Who's there? ...It's not a ghost, is it?...
Yata: No! Don't think about ghosts, don't think about them at all!
Yata: ...I'll go outside for a minute.
Yata: ! That sound now...
Yata: You're lying, it's locked!
Yata: Waa! ...W-What the hell? What's going on?
Yaya: Oh! By the way, yesterday...
Yata: Totsuka-san, what's this paper?
Totsuka: This? This is a talisman for expelling bad spirits.
Yata: Expelling bad spirits. You're working at a weird part-time job again, aren't you?
Totsuka: Something like that. By the way, my client this time is someone from here.
Yata: Here... Oh, could it be Kusanagi-san?
Kusanagi: What is it, you called me?
Totsuka: Yata seems to be interested in exorcism.
Yata: I d-d-didn't say that!
Kusanagi: I see, so you're interested. If so, why don't you become his temporery assistant?
Kusanagi: That's evil spirit in HOMRA, it's really dangerous, isn't it?
Totsuka: Yes-yes. According to the Ghost Encyclopedia, Yurei emits a sound that only the target can hear.
Yata: Sound...?
Totsuka: The sound of moving objects, like clattering and rattling. That's the signal that it's coming for you. We have to expel it as soon as possible.
Totsuka: So that's the reason. I'm looking forward for your assistance, Yata.
Yata: Oh, I've got things to do! I can't, excuse me!!
Yata: C-Could it be...Maybe it's the spirit that Totsuka-san mentioned at that time?
Yata: Yaaaah!
Totsuka: All together! Yata.
Everyone: Happy birthday!
Yata: Eh...B-Birthday...
Saya: Yata-kun, it's your birthday today, right?
Yata: Y-Yeah...
Kamamoto: Yata-san, the cake is over there. Let's eat it!
Yata: Cake...Kamamoto. You didn't forget about my birthday?
Kamamoto: How could I forget?! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here now.
Yata: T-Then. Why did you pretend to forget!?
Kusanagi: That's our doing.
Yata: Kusanagi-san, Totsuka-san!
Totsuka: Since it's no fun to celebrate in the usual way, we decided to make it a surprise. We got everyone involved.
Totsuka: Yata, what you said about ghost. Did you really believe in my story about expelling it?
Yata: Well... It wasn't like Totsuka-san and the others were lying…
Totsuka: I see. I'm sorry, Yata. Here, here, don't cry. Wipe the tears.
Yata: Wait...!! I'm not crying!
Kusanagi: Well, well. It's going to be an unforgettable birthday, isn't it?
Kusanagi: I've prepared all of Yata's favorite foods. Eat up and go home.
Yata: I-I got tired...
Saya: Yata-kun, have a drink.
Yata: : ...Hope this isn't a surprise either.
Saya: What do you mean?
Yata: You didn't mix anything weird in there, did you?
Saya: I didn't. It's just regular tea.
Saya: Oh, or you'd rather have juice?
Yata: ...That's fine.
Saya: After you left HOMRA yesterday, we had a meeting about today. Everyone was very active.
Saya: Yata-kun is loved by everyone in the Red club. It gave me a warm feeling.
Yata: ...I-Idiot. Don't tell me I'm loved or something creepy like that.
Saya: I'm sorry. But I think you are loved.
Yata: Shut up. Huuh, I'm hungry.
Saya: Right! There is a cake. I'll go get it!
Yata: I'm not that much of a sweet tooth...She's gone.
Yata: It can't be helped. Oi! Can you get me some meat instead of sweets?!

You sit in the backstage area by the medical area. You are praying that the injury that Finn sustained in his match isn't as terrible as it looked.
Finn was in an NXT match with Karrion Kross, and Kross powerbombed Finn onto the apron. As soon as Finn landed on the ground, he grabbed at his previously injured shoulder. The shoulder that was injured against Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2016 for the Universal Championship. He looked like he was in actual pain, not just kayfabe. You've gotten good at realizing what was real and what wasn't.
This seemed extremely real.
The door to the medical area opens and you see Finn come out. His arm is in a sling and he looks upset.
You run over to Finn and you say, "Hey, what did they tell you?"
Finn looks at you and says, "The same thing happened tonight that happened at Summerslam against Seth. I dislocated my shoulder, which I knew because of the pain. They told me I tore my labrum again, and I need surgery again, and I have to give up my damn title again."
He's angry and he's upset, you can hear it in his voice. You say, "You've worked through it once. You can do it again, and I'm right here to help you, Finn."
"I didn't get my title back last time," Finn says. "I might as well say goodbye to this one forever too." He takes his NXT title and throws the belt across the room. It bounces off a wall and lands on the floor. The noise of the belt hitting the wall makes you flinch.
You stare up at Finn and say, "They didn't know how to book you on Raw, Finn. They know how to use you here in NXT. You'll get your title back."
Finn looks down at you and you can see tears forming in his blue eyes.
"This is the second title I have to relinquish in WWE," Finn says, voice cracking. "This is the second time I've had to deal with his injury. Y/N, what if I can't do it again?"
His words break your heart and you take the hand that's not in the sling. You look into Finn's eyes and say, "You can. I'm here to help you. I'm here to make you feel better when you're feeling down."
You try to give him a reassuring smile. Finn says, "If ya don't hug me right now then I might fall apart. All I want is a hug from ya right now."
Careful not to hit his injured arm, you wrap your arms around Finn's neck. He wraps his free arm around your waist and buries his face in your neck.
Finn sobs, just once, into your neck. The sound alone is enough to make you tear up.
He's hurting, mentally and physically, and you have no idea how to help. You hate that Finn's feeling like this. He just got the NXT title back in September, and here he is four months later. He's relinquishing when he had so much planned for his reign. He had a goal of beating Adam Cole's 403 day reign.
All of that is gone now because of his injury.
"Finn!" you hear Karrion Kross say behind you. Finn looks up, his cheeks wet. "Oh, no. Finn, I'm so sorry. I added too much power. I didn't mean to. I'm so sorry that this is happening to you again. It's my fault."
You look up at Finn and he says, "It's not your fault at all, Kross. Ya executed the move perfectly. My arm was just a little too high and I dislocated my shoulder. I shoulda learned from last time. Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault."
Scarlett walks over and looks at me. "Is he okay?" she asks, referring to Finn.
"Dislocated shoulder and torn labrum," you say. "He needs surgery."
She looks sad as she says, "I'm so sorry, Finn."
Finn shrugs with his good shoulder and says, "It's fine. I'll be fine. Make sure Kross carries that title with pride because we all know who will become the fourth two-time NXT champion."
All of you give a little laugh before Finn walks over and picks up his title. He looks at the belt and looks at you. You watch and wait to see what he does.
Finn walks away from you, Karrion, and Scarlett. You look at Karrion and Scarlett in confusion before following Finn.
You find him knocking on William Regal's office door. You keep your distance as the door opens. "Mr. Regal," Finn says. "This doesn't belong to me anymore."
Regal looks at the title that Finn is holding out to him before he says, "You have to relinquish, don't you?"
Finn nods as he says, "Dislocated shoulder and torn labrum, which needs surgery. I'll be out for a while." Regal takes the title from Finn's hands.
A soft tsk comes from Regal and he says, "Such a shame. You've been a good champion, Finn. I can talk with Hunter and we can work something out for when you come back. Maybe work you into a storyline where the title is involved."
You listen to the conversation as Finn nods. "That sounds good," he says. "Thank you, Mr. Regal."
"Best of luck in your recovery, Finn," Regal says. "Please keep us updated on when you'll be back."
Finn says, "Of course. Have a good holiday, Mr. Regal. I'll see ya very soon."
Regal gives him a curt nod and walks back into the office with Finn's title. The door closes and Finn looks down.
He walks away, walking toward you. He has no idea that you're standing there. Well, until he looks up at you as he walks away from Regal's office. "How long have ya been standing there?" Finn asks, approaching you.
"I followed you when you walked away," you explain. "I wasn't being a stalker, I swear."
Finn looks upset as he says, "So ya heard the whole thing." It wasn't formed like a question.
You nod and say, "I saw you relinquish your title. I know how much that had to hurt but I'm proud of you."
He sighs and says, "This isn't the first time I've had to relinquish a title, Y/N. It hurts but not as bad as the first time I had to."
You've never had to give up a title because of injury so you can only imagine the pain Finn is in right now, either mentally or physically.
Then an idea pops into your head. You have a way to make Finn feel better. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and you're planning on going out to attend the annual WWE Christmas party at the Performance Center with Finn. You can give him one of your presents a little earlier.
"I know," you say. "Why don't we go home and watch some movies? I can make whatever snack you'd like, like popcorn or cookie dough." You smile, trying to help him feel better.
Finn says, "I would love to but I'm beat and really just wanna sleep. Rain check?"
Your smile fades and you nod. "Yeah," you say. "Of course."
The car ride home is quiet and you can almost feel how upset Finn is. You drive and Finn sits in the passenger's seat. You steal a couple glances at him at red lights or stop signs and find him staring out the window.
You pull up to the house and watch as Finn walks inside, not saying a word to you. You sigh and walk inside behind him.
Finn lays on the couch and puts something on TV. You make your way upstairs to the bedroom.
Maybe you won't be able to help Finn. He's completely shut you out and you don't know what you can do to help since he won't talk to you or accept any help.
After you get changed into pajamas, you crawl into bed. You end up crying yourself to sleep, frustrated and slightly upset.
***
A noise in your bathroom wakes you up. Finn is cursing up a storm and you get up to investigate.
You stand in the doorway to see a soaking wet Finn Balor on the bathroom floor. A towel is around his waist. He's gripping his injured shoulder.
"Finn!" you say, running over to him. You kneel beside him and make sure he's okay. "What happened?"
He looks up at you and says, "I fucking slipped and fell, that's what happened. I fell and hit my shoulder on the ground." His voice is cracking and you can tell he's trying not to cry.
You wipe away some of the water droplets that are falling down his face and you say, "You're okay." He looks away from you. "Hey, look at me."
Finn takes a second before turning his attention back toward you. "Tell me what you need," you say. "I want to help."
"Can ya magically fix my shoulder so I can go get my title back?" Finn asks, accent getting thick with anger. "No? Then I don't want your help."
He pushes you off of him, puts his arm back in his sling, and walks into the bedroom. You fall back against the glass door of the shower, hitting your head on the door lightly. When you tried to brace yourself, you fell on your wrist awkwardly and now it hurts. You probably sprained it.
You sit on the ground and hold your wrist. You sigh, trying not to cry.
After holding back the tears and the sobs for a few minutes, you just give in. Finn's never pushed you away like he has. You're starting to doubt your relationship with him and wondering if you can survive this.
It's Christmas Eve and instead of spending time with the man you love, you're sitting in the bathroom crying because you don't know if your relationship will last to tomorrow.
After you don't emerge from the bathroom after a few minutes, Finn comes back to check on you. He finds you curled up in a ball, crying softly. Your knees have been brought up to your chest and your forehead rests on your knees. You hold your possibly sprained wrist.
"Y/N," Finn says softly. His voice startles you and you look up at him. Your eyes are red and puffy from crying. Finn's heart breaks at the sight. His moment of anger hurt you, emotionally and physically. He can tell by the way you're holding your wrist.
Slowly, he approaches you. He kneels in front of you and says, "Y/N, baby. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt ya."
He reaches out to touch your knee but you flinch away from him. You know what happened was an accident but you're terrified to let him touch you.
Finn drops his arm and looks down. "I'm so sorry that this happened," he says. "I really didn't mean to hurt ya. I would never intentionally hurt ya. I'm so sorry."
Tears continue to fall down your cheeks as you cry, "I just want to help you, Finn. I want to help you get through this and I want to help you feel better."
He says, "I know ya do. I acted in a moment of anger. I was frustrated and in pain. I know ya are trying your best and I'm not making it very easy for ya. I'm so sorry, Y/N."
Quickly, you crawl over to Finn and hug him, crying into his good shoulder. Finn wraps his free arm around your shoulders.
The two of you stay like that until your knees begin to hurt. When your knees begin to hurt, you stand up and look down at Finn. "If you don't want to go to the Christmas party then I understand," you say.
Finn gets up and says, "Let's get a brace on that wrist before we talk about any Christmas parties, okay?"
You nod in agreement before Finn grabs an old wrist brace out of the cabinet under the sink.
He leads you out to the bedroom and you sit on the bed. Finn undoes the brace so you can slide it on the injured wrist. It's a fully metal brace so the wrist is completely immobilized and you can't move it. You look up at Finn and say, "Thank you."
"Don't thank me," he says. "I caused this. I hurt ya."
You say, "Not intentionally. You didn't mean to do this, and it's my own fault for trying to brace myself."
Finn looks away from you and says, "I pushed ya. It's my own fault."
Shaking your head, you say, "Do not blame yourself, Finn. This was neither of our faults, okay? It just happened. I'm braced up and I'll heal in a few days."
He nods and stays quiet. You take his free hand and play with his fingers. Finn watches you as you play with his fingers.
After a second of silence, Finn says, "I'm gonna call the day after Christmas to get a surgery scheduled that way we can get that done with and I can start my physical therapy and I can get back in the ring sooner rather than later."
You nod and say, "I'll be right here if you need anything, Finn. You tell me what you want and I'll be willing to help you."
Finn intertwines his fingers with yours and says, "How about we spend the day together since it is Christmas Eve? We can bake cookies or watch Christmas movies. Or we can go to the Christmas party. Whatever ya want to do today since I was being difficult this morning."
"All I want is for us to spend the day together," you say. "Baking cookies sounds fun. We don't have to do to the Christmas party. I'd much rather stay in anyway."
Finn pulls you up and says, "Then let's go bake some cookies. I've never baked cookies so I'm excited."
You stand in front of Finn, looking up. "How have you never made cookies before?" you ask, surprised.
"I've been training to wrestle since I was young then I travelled the world," he says. "I never really got the chance to bake cookies."
Almost running out of the room, you say, "We're baking cookies. Right now. Let's go."
Finn lets out a soft laugh. It's a laugh that you've missed in the past 24 hours. You make your way into the kitchen. You're wearing a black crop top with red and black checkered pajama pants. Probably not the best thing to be wearing when baking cookies. Especially when things can get a little ... messy.
You rush to get all the ingredients out, putting them on the kitchen island counter. This counter is the biggest and gives both you and Finn some extra room to move around.
Finn walks into the kitchen as you get out the ingredients out. Eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, chocolate chips, salt, brown sugar, and butter. You grab a bowl and a spoon to mix everything together. You grab measuring spoons and measuring cups.
"So," Finn says. "What do we have to do?"
You look at Finn and say, "I can measure out ingredients and you can put them in the bowl. You can mix if you'd like too. I'll hold the bowl."
A smile spreads across Finn's lips and he nods. He joins you at the counter.
You start with sugar. You measure it and hand the cup to Finn. He takes it and pours the dry ingredient into the bowl before handing it back to you.
This goes on until you get to the flour. You decide to be a little dirty and fake a sneeze, sending flour into the air. Finn says, "Y/N! This is my favorite shirt!"
You look at his black t-shirt and say, "You have tons of shirts that are black."
Finn says, "Yeah, but this one was my favorite."
Laughing, you brush the flour away. "Okay, crybaby," you say. "I'll make sure it's nice and clean."
While you clean up Finn's shirt, Finn takes a handful of flour and throws it at you. Your face and shirt is covered in flour. Finn lets out a chuckle.
Your jaw almost drops and you say, "Finn! I was being nice and cleaning up your shirt for you."
He smiles and says, "Oops. I'm sorry, Y/N."
You grab a handful of flour and throw it at Finn, dirtying his shirt again and now he has flour all over his face and in his hair.
"Oh," Finn says. "That's how ya wanna play, hm?"
You've realized what you've done as Finn takes another handful of flour. "Finn," you say. "Don't you dare. I swear to Go-" Before you can finish the sentence, flour flies at you. You're now basically covered in head to toe with flour. "Okay. I see what you wanna do."
You scoop flour up in both your hands before throwing it at Finn. You giggle and start to back away as Finn takes another handful of flour.
By this time, you're on the other side of the counter. He throws it at you and it makes it to you. You reach across and grab flour, throwing it at Finn before running out of the room.
"Come back here!" Finn calls. You giggle and hide behind the wall that separates the living room and the kitchen.
Footsteps lead from the kitchen into the dining room. "Y/N?" Finn says in a singsong voice. "Come here."
You cover your mouth to keep quiet.
Finn walks past you into the living room from the kitchen. He doesn't see you and that gives you the opportunity to sneak attack from behind. You wrap your arms around Finn's waist. You're met with flour. You laugh and look up at Finn.
"You're cleaning the flour up in the living room," you tell Finn.
Finn's taken off his sling at this point. You notice when he turns in your arms. He asks, "What if I don't?"
You smirk a bit and say, "Then you don't get your Christmas present later on tonight."
He smiles and says, "Oh really? Hm, then I might clean it up since I won't get my present if I don't."
"You better," you say, leaning up and pecking his lips. "Now let's go finish these cookies then we can go get cleaned up."
Finn smiles and walks back into the kitchen with you.
The two of you finish the cookies. You clean up the flour around the kitchen and Finn disappears into the living room while the cookies are in the oven.
Once they're done in the oven, you lay them out so they can cool down.
Footsteps enter the room and arms wrap around your waist from behind as you lay out the cookies on a cooking rack. "So," Finn says behind you. "What's my Christmas present since I cleaned up the living room?"
You giggle and say, "Patience, Finn. We still haven't talked about that Christmas party and if we wanted to go."
Finn says, "I'd rather stay in tonight. I really don't feel like putting a smile on my face when I don't mean it, especially for a whole night."
You turn in Finn's arms and says, "Whatever you want to do. Today's about you, Finn. If you wanna stay in then we'll stay in."
He smiles and says, "You're the best, Y/N. Thank you for trying to be here for me even though I know I'm probably not making it very easy."
"Injuries are never very easy to go through," you say. "I've had my fair share of knee injuries so I understand. I'm just trying to make it a little easier on you."
Finn brushes some flour filled strands of hair out of your face. "Ya are the best," he says. "I promise to be easier on ya and I won't take my frustrations or anger out on ya like earlier."
His hands move up to cup your face and you say, "Take whatever you want out on me. Anger, frustrations, or whatever it is."
Finn smiles and says, "So, Christmas present?"
You laugh and say, "Relax, Finn. We still have to get cleaned up. Showered and changed because I'm not eating a meal with you while you're covered in flour."
His hands leave your cheeks and he says, "Then let's go get showered and changed."
You smile and say, "I have to finish getting everything ready for dinner. I'll shower later."
Finn pouts and he says, "Come on, mo gra. Come shower with me." He smiles trying to convince you to come with him.
"Finn, I have to get dinner ready," you say. "If I don't make dinner now then it won't be ready before dinnertime. And I have things planned for later."
Your boyfriend sighs and says, "Dinner better be amazing since ya won't shower with me."
You giggle and say, "Dessert will be better. Now go get cleaned up."
"Fine," Finn whines, pouting as he walks off. You smile and get dinner started.
You make lasagna with a special meat sauce your mom always made. Finn takes about 45 minutes upstairs.
Dinner is in the oven and that's when you go get showered and cleaned up.
It takes a while to get the flour out of your hair. At least twenty minutes and three washes. Then you wash and shave the rest of your body.
Finn got a little dressed up for dinner so you decide to get into the dress you bought for the party tonight. It's a tight red dress. Long off the shoulder sleeves, and the skirt ends right past your butt.
You would usually wear a bra and panties with the dress, but because it's just you and Finn tonight, you decide to just go completely commando.
You dry your hair and you tie it up in a tight ponytail on the top of your hair. You smooth out the dress before walking downstairs. You go barefoot as you walk down the stairs.
Finn's setting up for dinner, his arm in his sling. He wears a white button up with black dress pants. He's wearing socks but not sneakers or any other shoe. He even put on cologne.
You smile and watch from the doorway of the dining room as he lights a few candles. That's the only light in the room, plus the light coming into the room from the kitchen and foyer.
The living room is lit up by the Christmas tree and the lights lining the fireplace. There is a fire going on the fireplace.
Finn finally looks up at you and he smiles when he sees the dress you're wearing. "Look at ya," he says, walking over to you. "Ya look stunning, Y/N."
You smile and say, "You don't look too bad yourself, Finn."
The oven starts to beep, signaling that the lasagna is done. You made meatballs to go with the lasagna and you cut up some Italian bread you bought at the store the other day. You serve the lasagna and the meatballs with the bread. You say, "Dinner is ready."
Finn sits at the table and helps himself to some lasagna. You smile and start to eat dinner.
After a few minutes, Finn says, "Ya look beautiful, Y/N. Seriously. Just seeing ya in that dress makes me feel better."
You giggle and say, "I'm glad you like it. I was going to wear it to the party tonight."
"Well I'm glad ya decided to wear it tonight," your boyfriend says. "It would have been a shame if I didn't get to see it on ya."
You smile and say, "Well now you get to see it on me."
Finn smiles and the two of you continue to eat the dinner.
After dinner, you wash the dishes. You hum quietly to yourself as you do. Finn stands behind you against the island counter in the kitchen.
As you finish up the last dish, Finn comes up behind you, putting his free hand on your waist. He squeezes gently, making you squeal a bit under his touch. "Finn!" you giggle. "Please. I'm doing the dishes."
Finn smiles behind you and says, "I can't help myself. Ya just look so good, mo gra."
You finish up and turn the water off. You turn in Finn’s arms and say, “I have a surprise for you, Finn.”
His eyes almost light up and he asks, “Christmas present?”
Giggling, you say, “I have to go get it. Wait for me in the living room.”
Finn nods and walks into the living room. You walk upstairs into your bedroom. You look through your closet for Finn’s surprise.
In a box is the surprise.
It’s a lingerie set. A sheer red top with a very low cut neck, revealing most of your cleavage. There are thin white straps on your shoulder and the neck is lined with a fluffy white fabric. The bottom of the sheer top is lined with white lace. There is a pair of almost sheer lace panties that go with the top. A thin black belt wraps around your body right under your breasts. You take the Santa hat that goes with it and put it on your head after you take your hair down out of the ponytail.
You smile and take the brace on your wrist off, throwing it by your bedside table.
Sighing, you walk downstairs. “Close your eyes Finn!” you call.
You hear him laugh and say, “They’re closed.”
After he says that, you walk into the living room. You see his eyes are closed so you stand in front of him.
Smiling, you say, “Okay. Open your eyes.”
Finn’s eyes open and his blue eyes are immediately on your body. He smiles and asks, “Is this my surprise?”
“It is,” you say, twirling around. “Do you like it?”
He gets up and he says, “I love it. Ya look beautiful. Ya can pull anything off.”
You giggle and look up at Finn. “I’m glad you like it,” you say.
Finn’s eyes are on your body and he says, “Ya always know exactly what I want for Christmas.”
“That’s because I know you very well, Finn,” you say, untucking his shirt. “And I know exactly where your mind is right now.”
He gives a little laugh and he says, “Then I assume ya know where I would rather be than right here.”
You take his hand and say, “Only if you promise to be careful and not overwork yourself.”
Finn nods and says, “I promise. Let’s go.” He walks off and you follow behind him. The two of you run upstairs and into your shared bedroom.
His lips are on yours as soon as you step over the threshold into the room. You pull off the hat and throw it to the floor.
Your fingers work at unbuttoning his shirt. He takes off the sling and you get his shirt unbuttoned.
Finn throws the sling to the floor and you pull off his shirt. You run your fingers over his abs and his fingers hook onto your straps. He pulls them off your shoulders and you pull your arms out of the sleeves.
He pulls the top down and it falls to your feet, leaving your upper body exposing to Finn. Finn’s lips attach to your neck and you sigh. “I love you,” you say.
Finn pulls back and makes eye contact with you. Your fingers have started unbuttoning his dress pants as he says, “And I love ya, mo gra.”
You kiss Finn, slowly and more passionately than the kiss you shared with him earlier. You get his pants unbuttoned as Finn slips his fingers into your panties, his fingers run through your folds. You gasp against his lips and sigh.
Gently, you push Finn onto the bed so he’s sitting on the mattress. You lean down and pull off Finn’s boxers. His semi erect member pops up against his stomach and you bite your lip as you get on your knees in front of him. You take his member in your hand and start to pump him.
Grunts and groans leave Finn’s lips as he gets harder in your hand. You soon replace your hand with your mouth. You bob your head up and down. Finn’s fingers are in your hair, grasping a bit as you move your head. You suck gently as you move, earning some groans from Finn. “That’s it, baby,” he moans. “Just like that.”
Finn’s praises motivate you and you moves faster and suck harder.
Right as Finn begins to twitch, signaling that he’s about to release, you pull back from Finn. He lets out an unintentional whine and you smirk. “Don’t worry, Finn,” you say, standing up. “I’ll take good care of you.”
You pull off your panties and Finn moves back on the bed. You crawl up to him and kiss him as you straddle his member. You slowly grind against Finn and sigh softly against the soft kiss.
Finn grips your hips and mumbles into the kiss, “If I’m not inside of ya in a few seconds, I will actually lose it.”
You giggle and push Finn onto his back. You leave kisses on his chest and you sit up. You position him at your entrance before lowering yourself onto Finn’s erect member. You sigh as he fills you up.
Once completely inside you, you begin to move your hips so he moves in and out of you.
The room slowly fills with the sounds moans coming from you and Finn. More from you than him. You throw your head back and close your eyes.
Finn’s hands are on your thighs as yours rest on his chest so you can keep your balance.
“God,” you moan loudly. Your breathing becomes labored and quick the faster you move. “Fuck, Finn.”
Finn helps you move your hips. “Fuck, baby,” he groans. “Ya move so well. Ya fuck me so good.”
His praises make you smile as you move faster. “You’re still my champion, Finn,” you gasp. “Always.”
A smile forms on Finn’s lips as you both climb higher and higher toward your orgasms.
Your walls begin to clench around him as you reach your high. “Finn!” you cry out. “I’m about to come.”
As soon as you say that, Finn moves so he’s on top of you. He’s holding himself up by one arm, his good arm, as he begins to thrust roughly into you. You moan and scream Finn’s name as he slams into your g-spot every time he moves.
It doesn’t take long for both of you to reach your climax. You come around Finn as he releases his seed into you. He falls over onto his good shoulder, pulling out of you. You smile and roll over, kissing Finn softly as you both catch your breath.
After messily making out for a few moments, you pull back and meet Finn’s eyes. You smile and ask, “Did you enjoy your present?”
Finn smiles and nods. “Always.”
“You can have your present anytime you until midnight tomorrow night,” you explain. “That’s the second part of your present. Whenever, wherever. It’s all up to you.”
Your boyfriend smiles and says, “I like that present. It’s my favorite present.”
You giggle and kiss his lips. “I hope you’re feeling better now,” you say. “About the whole relinquishing your title.”
Finn meets your eyes and says, “With ya by my side, I know I’ll get through this. I was upset about losing my title because of my injury but I realized that I never needed a title to be happy. I just need ya.”
You smile as Finn speaks. You lean in and kiss him, sparking the second round of sex that you’ll have over the next twenty four hours.
