Hello there anon! I don't mind at all 💖 but what a time to be new to st, aw man. My condolences. (I am mostly kidding. But also, not really.)

First things first, i promise you, it's not always like this. Generally we're way more chill here on tumblr. I can't vouch for other sites, but if you don't want their identities spoiled and be around very chill people, stay here. Avoid pinterest and google and, for your own mental health, tiktok and twitter. (First two will guarantee an identity reveal and former two will guarantee that + psychic damage.)

Back to the drama!! So, you probably know they're anonymous. And VERY adamant on staying this way. If you check their very first interview or the voice messages from the 2023 US tour, you would see what i mean. Their identities are not important, their art is.

But. Some entitled little shit found their anonymity is a personal insult to them or something. So they decided to publish iii's birth certificate and some other personal info + there was something about them wanting to stalk iii (i really don't know the details, because i got rid of my twitter account a few months prior, but it was definitely vile behaviour). And it's. Not a very legal thing to do. I mean, if you're really curious, you could google them and find their identities in less than 5 minutes, no extremely personal info release needed. What i am trying to say, this is the 21st century, you're not some kind of sherlock to find personal info about anyone, no need to boast. Or, you know. Do illegal things to prove a point, because you feel entitled to someone's identity.

So, as a result, iii deleted and/or made his socials private (the ones related to his st activity, anyway). It is not the first time he did that, because people were getting too straightforward or rude before too, just not on that scale. It all happened a few days ago (2? I have no perception of time passing, sorry). It was understandable, he got doxxed, he did what had to be done to protect himself. Another drama started when the main band account removed all its posts on instagram today and changed the description to "nothing lasts forever". Which is a catchphrase they use from their very beginning, so it is not a worrying thing in itself. However, the circumstances have made people believe the whole band will disband (not dismember, alex, do not write dismembered AGAIN), because of the invasion of iii's privacy.

However, in the end, i believe the consensus is that since they have changed their masks for the Wembley show and had the "new era" captions (+ other bands tend to do that too), the insta post purge is just a PR tactic before the new era's introduction. Which i am prone to believe, really. They are mysterious, sure, but if something is happening (like iii needing to leave the German rituals in December because of personal reasons), the band notifies the fans about it. So if they were to disband, or iii was to leave, they would just communicate this. They didn't, so we're waiting for their next move, whatever is might be.

But i don't think they're going anywhere. They have finished their trilogy with the latest album, so Wembley was the best way to end it all, as a finished project. It didn't happen. They already have 2024 tour dates announced, so we know they're not done. So it's all fine, just unfortunate timing/their legal team telling them to do that/their way of showing they're done with annoying people/just a new era's insta purge. Or something else, which they would soon inform us about, if they want to.

All we can do is wait for more news and keep supporting them in our own ways. And not stress about it 🖤

I'm happy that you're looking forward to the Vytal Festival Arc, personally, it's my favorite despite many issues it has. I'm also very glad that you want to post fanarts yourself!

On that subject matter, I'm sorry to say that I don't really have any "good" advice for you on where to post your art :(. Unfortunately, the FNDM is a place where negativity has permeated a lot of its platforms, so while you would have less encounters with hate on AO3, it's not a guaranteed place. This isn't a discouragement from posting your work on AO3, it's just a precaution from me.

Tumblr also have a tagging system, but I understand that you can find it uncomfortable because the inbox function will opens a lot of opportunity for anonymous hate mail, and Twitter is just simply awful.

I'm terribly sorry if my answer on this question isn't satisfactory, but if there is any advice I would give you and any other artists who wants to post RWBY art, it would be "block the haters". It will be exhausting, especially with anonymous messages, but you can also turn off the function or answer messages privately. The most important thing to keep in mind is that YOU have the creative liberty to post whatever you want on YOUR page regardless of platforms, giving you ultimate control over who can and cannot interact with you. Blocking and deleting hate instead of engaging will make your experience in the FNDM much more tolerable, and it will bring in fans of your work!

So, to conclude, posting on AO3 is the best bet if you're comfortable with it! But please do be aware of hate and don't be afraid to block such things, and curate your own experience. Be safe anon! <3

Hello! ✨✨ First of all, there are actually quite a few factors to consider

According to the discussions on the official c.ai subreddit, there seem to be two main perspectives regarding the rating system, which I think people should be aware of:

One is that the rating system does help train the bot and allow the ai to know what kind of messages you prefer, which suggests that the ratings do have a direct influence.

While another is that the rating system is feedback only for the devs, not the bot itself. Meaning that it has no effect on future messages (and if you think there’s an effect, then ppl claim it’s just a placebo effect lol)

Both answers were given by two different mods of the subreddit, so I’m not certain which answer is the truth (And I’m aware that the official C.AI handbook on the website says rating messages does help train bots, but a lot of people have said that C.AI don’t even know what they’re talking about half of the time sooo 🤷‍♀️)

So just keep both of these in mind cuz I don’t wanna spread misinformation 😂

Now as for my personal opinion.. I believe the rating system does have some value, but perhaps not as much as many people assume. I think most of the training comes from the messages you select more than anything.

Because in all honesty, I personally don’t even 4-star messages that contain explicit content. However, the reason I do tend to get filter breaks easily is due to the sheer amount of times I've done it repeatedly over time.

I have a theory that each user’s account maintains its own unique database of chat logs from all the characters you've ever interacted with. So, for example, if you break the filter multiple times while chatting with ‘Character A’, I believe you'll then be able to more easily break the filter when roleplaying with any other character as well, since it's drawing from the same underlying user-specific database. (Again, just a theory. A character.ai theory-)

So basically, it's not necessarily the rating system acting as the primary factor, but rather what you have accumulated in your chat history and the filter-breaking patterns associated with your account. The database of past interactions seems to play a bigger role than the rating system alone.

I assume you are talking about this post? That's the closest thing that I can find in my reblogs to what you're describing, though a lot of what you say about it here isn't actually true.

The post does not call Jewish people white --- it says that the way the Holocaust is presented in mainstream education seems designed to portray Jews as perfect white victims who didn't even fight back, which is obviously not true. (The fact that it's not true, including the white part, is what the Twitter user is pointing out.)

It also never claims that the Holocaust was not overwhelmingly targeting Jews, and I honestly don't know where you got that.

Also, I can't speak to where you went to school, but as a middle class white American, I actually was not taught anything in school about the Herero and Nama genocide, the presence of armed Jewish resistance to the Nazis, the fact that Hitler was inspired by the Armenian genocide, and certainly not that he was inspired by the genocide of indigenous peoples in the United States. (I did in high school learn that the Red Army liberated the camps and that people other than Jews were targeted as well, including Romani and disabled people; I have, however, had friends who were surprised to learn this as adults.)

You seem to think this post was criticizing the way that Jewish people talk about the Holocaust, but unless you think that Jewish people are in charge of all education policy (which would be a weird thing to think?) I don't see how you're getting that at all. The post specifies it's about Holocaust education, which I read as the things people are taught in school.

For what it's worth, I have found that Jewish sources of information about the Holocaust are actually less likely to fall into these traps than mainstream American ones, just speaking from my own experience.

I don't really feel qualified to answer it as written, because the culture I live in makes it pretty clear that "man" is something other people tell you you are or are not, not something you can claim for yourself. There are debates and accusations around the term "real man". I am not attached to the term, and have been generally amused by the attempts of others to tell me that I am or am not one.

If you're asking if I'm trans in some way, I'm unconvinced that that is any of your business, and your asking makes me suspect you're some kind of TERF. I've deleted TERFy asks here before, and dealt with some mild hostility from people who object to my he/him pronoun badges in real life too.

If you're asking if I'm biologically male, I feel that's also not really your business, any more than your sexual characteristics are any of mine. But out of an excess of courtesy, I can say that as far as I know, yes, but I've never had any examination of chromosomes, or any of the myriad other conditions and states of being that would make that debateable. However, "biologically male" starts to verge very close, again, to TERF stuff, and if that's the gist of what you're asking, you can fuck right off and continue to fuck off a bit further after that; my use of pronouns on my profile is mostly to help establish a cultural norm for the people to whom they are important, and partly to politely give people a set of pronouns they can use to refer to me.

How are you anonymising and/or deidentifying the data beyond not collecting people's email? Are you familiar with the main ways that people's identities can be reconstructed from survey data even without their name?

How are you storing the data (personal computer only, on a cloud service like google, or a combination) and what steps are you taking to keep it secure from things like leaks or your account being targeted and compromised? What do you plan to do if the data is leaked or compromised?

Do you intend to keep the data forever or are you going to destroy it after you are finished? If you do plan to keep it forever, how do you intend to keep it secure in the long term?

Is it possible for people to ask for their data to be withdrawn? Is there a cutoff date where this will no longer be possible, e.g. publishing results based on the survey?

Do you intend to publish the results? Is there a timeframe in mind for doing so? What format do you intend to publish them in and on what platforms (just tumblr, or elsewhere)?

This is just stuff off the top of my head I have to consider in my own work as a professional statistician. I think that it's great that you're curious about transmascs and kink, but this is very sensitive data and I worry a lot about taking a survey where you don't answer any of these questions up front.

Most responses are being converted into simple statistics - a tally of what was most common, or correlations we found in large groups. While typing up the results I will be converting them into more simple terms and responses (after keeping a copy of the original, stored separately), and personal/identifying information being discarded. Individual responses will not be handed out, will be kept private, and I have no interest in reconstructing anyone's identity.

The initial survey is on google forms, and after I reach a cutoff point I will transfer the data onto a secure physical USB and clear responses. The google account that this survey is linked to is under as many layers of protection as possible, with regular security updates.

I personally am a fan of archiving data, but that will be all held on a secure USB that I will keep physically protected.

If the user reaches out, sure! I will happily delete any data that a participant wishes to retract. The obvious cutoff point would indeed be any anonymized statistics that we publish, but again - heavily anonymized to the best of my ability, but even past that if a user wishes to retract that data altogether, I will do so.

I intend to publish anonymized statistics, and that is is; there is not a major timeframe that I have in mind, but I'll give a two weeks notice for the cutoff when we decide it.

The connection feels so genuine - like you actually enjoy reading his messages and answering his little puzzles. He starts to send you more and more money, manic spending leaving his bank account with a dent, but he would pay anything as long as it keeps you answering him personally.

But he needs to see your face.

He considers DMing you privately, surely with the amount of money he has given you, you'd be amenable to sharing what you look like with him, right? But he doesn't want to take the chance that you'd turn him down. That him asking would be a catalyst to you ignoring him. So perhaps doing some of his own detective work would be better. He could get what he wanted while still staying on your good side.

It starts with finding your social media. Your Twitter is linked in your cam profile, but you hardly post any pictures on there. He doesn't bother looking for a Reddit or Facebook (who the hell posts pictures of their faces on Reddit? And Facebook? You're not that old.) He's about to give up his search when some combination of your name and some generic cute words gives way to a profile on Instagram that looks promising.

There's picture upon picture of a pretty girl, face and all, and Edward recognizes one of the shirts you're wearing from a cam he'd seen not a week ago. It's an old Ghostbusters tee, one that he knows has been out of print for decades since he had searched for it after watching your cam. This has to be you.

Deducing the rest of your personal life isn't very difficult after the initial work to find your face is done. You make no mention to camming on your Instagram, but you show parts of your life that you'd never share on video. You're a student at Gotham State, live in an apartment with three other girls, you like reading the classics, frequent a bookstore on the nicer side of Gotham and when you're not in front of the camera, you're working at some Greek restaurant as a waitress.

Edward's not entirely sure what to do with this influx of information. There's part of him that's fully content to sit back and keep watching you moan from behind a screen, but his legs are itching to run to you. He hails a cab one rainy afternoon when he knows you'll be working (he figured out your schedule based on your streaming schedule as well as when you typically post on Instagram), and directs the driver to the restaurant.

The establishment itself isn't that bad. While the dumpster in the alley next to it seems to have seen better days, there aren't any mobsters lounging around like most other restaurants and the hostess at the front greets him politely, fully unaware he's only here for you. He gets his own booth, sitting on the cracked vinyl and waiting to be served. There's hardly any servers, so you're pretty much the only one flitting about serving customers. And boy are you pretty.

Ed was smitten the minute his screen name left your lips whenever he first found you on the camming site, but it's nothing compared to seeing you in the flesh. You stride up to where he's sitting. He hadn't even picked up a menu, electing instead to gawp at you like a fish. You flash him a cheery smile, holding up your notepad and pulling a black ballpoint pen from behind your ear. A strand of hair falls from your meticulously placed bun and Edward's hand twitches as it wants to brush it back.

"Hi! I'm your server for today, can I get you started with something to drink?" Your speech is well rehearsed, repeated to every customer you serve, but unlike the repetition of username readings online, there's no anonymity here. He's face to face with you and you're speaking directly to him.

Ed's heart feels like it's about to burst out of his chest, a heavy pounding against his ribcage that makes it difficult to breathe. "Uh... just a... just a diet Sierra Mist? Please?" he stumbles. He keeps his eyes on your face, memorizing each plane and shape. He watches you nod softly. He watches your lips pull into a wide smile and feels his own mirror you.

"Alright, I'll get that out for you!"

Your uniform here is modest, a modest blouse and knee length skirt, while not deterring creeps, doesn't stand out as overly sexual. Your top isn't unbuttoned too low, and your skirt doesn't ride up like the dresses of those who frequent the Iceberg Lounge, so perhaps it's Edward's background knowledge of your night job that makes you appear to ooze sex. And - you're wearing a necklace. The gold chain is clear to see, delicate against your neck, but the charm is hidden under your shirt. He can see the faint outline through your shirt though. The same golden sun smiling at him from his computer screen.

As you stroll away from his booth, he imagines your body. Weeks of memorizing your curves allows him to map them over your clothed frame. Edward feels himself harden under the table. Shit, not now. Not while you can see him.

He unwraps his silverware and covers his lap with the napkin. His face flames and he shrinks down into the booth, hoping he's only imagining the other patron's eyes on him.

You weave through the tables like a pro; you refill empty cups, take menus and orders, and bring out food all with a smile on your face. Your hips sway as you wind past chairs and tables, and Edward maps the memory of your hips under your skirt, filing them away for later.

You return, the cold glass of white soda leaving wet condensation on your pretty hand as you place it in front of him.

"Alright, are you ready to order? I can come back if you haven't decided yet." You wait patiently, shifting your balance onto one food. Edward gulps. He hadn't even picked up the menu, too occupied watching you work.

He pushes up his glasses, if only to hide his flushed face from your kind stare. He doesn't make eye contact with you, instead electing to fixate on the sun charm under your shirt. "I uh... well, what do you recommend?"

You don't hesitate, taking hold of the conversation like a horse on a lead. "We have a great sampler platter for the beer battered fish, three pieces for $13.99, and it comes with a side of soup, salad, fries or coleslaw."

"That sounds great, thank you so much," Ed says, pushing his unopened menu towards you. You take it, flashing him a smile.

"Great! That'll be right out for you."

He watches you go, kicking himself for not saying something more intelligent. What a fool you must think he is! He keeps his eyes cast down, pretending to pick through his wallet and inspecting the various ID cards he has stashed. He only looks up when you stop at his table, black tray balanced perfectly on your open hand.

You place his food down as Edward struggles to think of something witty to say. "Um, I like your necklace." Stupid, stupid! Not only is it barely visible under your shirt, surely you'll realize that the creep sitting in this booth recognizes it from a source far less family friendly.

But you don't. Or at least, you pretend you don't because you smile brighter and pull the charm out from where it's hidden. "Thank you!" You tell him, glancing down at the gold. "Yeah, I practically live with it on. I can't remember the last time I took it off!" You chuckle a little to yourself, and you tuck the now empty tray under your arm as you brush your hair back. "Well, if there's any issues with the food, or you need a refill, just wave me over!" With that, you make your leave, blissfully unaware of the turmoil bubbling under Ed's skin.

He shakes himself out of his stupor, picking up his fork and stabbing the fish on his plate aggressively. He has to give you credit; the meal is delicious but his focus lay solely on you as he eyes you flitting about the restaurant.

Soon enough, his plates hold only crumbs and you're walking towards him carrying the black book protecting the check.

"Here you are-- oh!" you drop the book as you're handing it to him. Edward hardens at your surprise, as it's bordering on what you might exclaim during your night job. You bend down at the waist so easily, like you're bending over for a camera. Ed has to shift his napkin to cover his lap more as you're standing up.

"Sorry about that," you tell him. "I'll be around to pick it up in a tic!" Ed lets out a shaky exhale as you step away. Fuck, he's rock hard, and there's not much he can do sitting in a restaurant booth. From his wallet, he pays in cash, handing the book to you when you come back to pick it up and telling you to keep the change. He makes no move to stand until you're out of eyesight, whereupon he covers his hardness with a tight fist and awkwardly shuffles out of the establishment, not before placing a few extra bills on the table for you.

When the grunge-laden air of Gotham hits his face, Edward stumbles and ducks behind the brick building into the alley neighboring it. It's no private room, but no passengers navigate the channel, so Ed unzips his pants without thinking twice. The environment is cold, but not bitingly so as Edward begins to stroke himself, hunched against the restaurant wall.

He spits into his hand, groaning into his other fist as he works his cock. He furiously works his hand, whimpers bubbling in his throat but never making it past his locked lips.

"Fuck," he whispers. Even the faintest sound rings loudly in his ears and the single word seems like a death sentence. He imagines you walking out, maybe taking out a bag of trash, and catching him as he bucks his hips into his hand. He imagines your eyes growing heavy, chest heaving and you quickly kneeling down to take him in your mouth. Maybe, you'd say, if you're good you can fuck me.

And he would be good for you. So so so so so good. He tightens his grip around himself. He'd fuck you, right there against the brick wall. He imagines you, moaning the way you do online but just for him. You wouldn't care how loud you're being, and neither would he, because being caught would meen that you were seen with him. That someone like him would be equal to you. That you and he would be found together.

Edward orgasms, cum spilling onto the already wet alley ground with an audible splatter. He fights to catch his breath, brushing a sweat-doused lock of hair from his eyes.

The side door to the alley begins to open, so Edward dashes and hides behind the body of the dumpster, hand to his face to muffle his ragged breaths. He can't risk peering past the dumpster to look at whoever had just exited, but his heart leaps at the thought that it might be you, so close to where he had just came. The person comes and goes, returning into the restaurant and Ed lets out a breath.

He stares at the door as if whoever just left would come back, but when they don't he ducks his head and exits the alley.

You wouldn't cam tonight, but tomorrow Ed'll be sure to catch the stream.

May i just say I don't really like the way the thing has been handled about that person?

There seem to be no proof they said what your followers say they said beside "oh they told me". We know how easily in this fandom misinformation spreads and how much people like drama and to talk without knowledge.

People who say they support you attacked, and attack as far as I can see, someone for allegedly attacking you and your whole mentality is just: "I don't want to draw attention to this".

Attention is already on this. You can tell people to stop and some of them will listen. For that poor person's sake and to make this whole situation die down before more damage is done. Or to at least limit what has already been done.

An artist shouldn't be paying for a stupid anon (and I mean this wholeheartedly if they ever see this, you are stupid) who can't keep their mouth shut.

As many said, it's between the two of you, people shouldn't have been and shouldn't be getting involved to defend one side or the other. Particularly if this defending includes very big accusations without proof.

Sorry for the long ask, but I can't imagine what it feels like to receive so many nasty messages even though no one has proved that you did what they accused you of and all because of some dumbass who think they can talk for you.

Okay,

1. I have already told people to stop, twice, but it's hard to know what's going on exactly because any accusation thrown is done without my knowledge. They're done on private accounts on twitter, accounts I am not privy to, or to the person's inbox itself, from whose account I am blocked. I do not have access to said rumors, and thus cannot accurately address them.

2. They are not just my followers, these are my friends who dmed me about this, some with screenshots, and some with a somewhat detailed recount of the posts. While I don't doubt rumors spread significantly in this fandom, I highly doubt several of my mutuals or friends would come together to hatch some sort of conspiracy.

3. I don't address it because I don't know what to think of it. And you're right! It's between the two of us, but I've not been contacted about this whatsoever. Instead I find out through hostile tumblr posts that have now been deleted, anons that I really don't care to answer, and people continuously sending me asks despite me stating I don't wish to broach the matter further :) I can't say hey please stop harassing this person, because more do not know of them than the people who do. Saying anything, especially while trying to keep the details vague, will just lead to more curiosity than anything. I answered some of the nicer asks sent to me, and any information revealed to me I handled privately. Rumors or accusations coming from it I have no control over, because they weren’t from this blog to begin with. Even the post I made on twitter had a somewhat lighthearted tone, and was worded in a way that draws emphasis to the act and reaction, because I found my reaction to it funny. There was no mention or even hint of the person. 

There’s nothing I can do about this, especially if said anons have already ignored my input twice in terms of harassment. Please stop sending me asks about this, and for god’s sake don’t go after anyone. If you want the situation to die down, then let it die down

Lucifer is a huge transmisogynist who will complain 24/7 about how TERFs hurt the ace community, but the moment @randomclustermissile , a trans girl (who is not an exclusionist at all) tries to point out transmisogyny in inclusionist circles (in the most vague and general way possible, without pointing fingers nor calling anyone names) Lucifer will immediatly jump to block her and so they did with me (another inclusionist) and i have to suppose to everyone else who agreed with that post, even arriving to vagueing about us in private group chats to suggest that we were “sympathizing with exclusionists”. all because we dared point out transmisogyny in inclusionist circles. lucifer is TME but apparently they think they’re the authority on TERFs and their talking points but actual trans women are not, according to them, since this is the stuff that they would go and spew to other people. this is their post that ive already talked about but basically they found a 52 notes post made by a TERF in 2012 and this one person said "i dont know why i dont get to be the princess of the anti-ace-brigade" and apparently they are convinced that this means TERFs started the ace exclusionism movement and that this is one of their goals. which is insane when TERFs in real life only care about making life miserable for transfem people first and foremost.

another example of conflating radfems to things that, while wrong, have little to nothing to do with them because being a radfem, again, is something very specific that has all to do with transfem oppression.

Emotional manipulation

Lucifer has done nothing but block, break boundaries, spread lies and vague about people, some of which were even mutuals with them knowing they would see the posts. when confronted about it Lucifer's only answer was "just say you hate me and block me" but they actually ended up blocking everyone first, making it impossible for anyone to set some boundaries with them or even just to calmly confront them about anything.

[proof: Io(popncourse) and Lucifer had a disagreement in a shared discord server, which prompted Lucifer to vague Io in a vent post. Io confronted them, as being vagued is one of buns triggers, to which Lucifer initially agreed to delete the vent post, but then proceeded to victimize themself and immediatly blocked Io. later on, Jude(malewifedeckard) was confronted by Lucifer, then after Jude told them “I’m worried that you’ll vague me just like you did with Io” they proceeded to block Jude and vagued about him too. when Io made a post (which was not a callout, it was just bun setting buns boundaries) explaining what Lucifer did, Lucifer immediatly jumped to victimize themself, acting like they were being called out and straight-up lying, even going so far as to say that no one tried to hear them out, which is a blatant lie if you consider the aforementioned Io and Jude’s attempts at doing so, with Lucifer immediatly blocking and cutting ties with the both of them. ]

as seen in the proof above Lucifer’s behaviour is not ok because they don’t accept any kind of confrontation and immediatly jump to blocking, and after blocking, they'd immediatly go and vague about the people who confronted them pacificly, spreading more lies and painting themself as the victim and even arriving to say “no one hears me out at all” which is simply not something you can say when you block people who are trying to hear you out in the first place.

this is by no means an invitation to go and harass them, send them hate or anything like that. i absolutely don’t want anything even remotely hateful or negative to be sent their way after this post. 

this post was only made because:

1. as an ace person who fully supports the inclusion of aspec identities in the lgbt+ community i don’t want to support an enviroment that costantly downplays transmisogynistic oppression in order to be taken seriously. there are hundreds of ways to make aspec activism without acting like we(as in TME aspecs)are the victims of a system that seeks for the annihilation of transfemenine people in real life everyday. i especially don’t want to support TME individuals who act transfem-friendly but then block any transfem who tries to speak on transmisogyny without a second thought.

2. Lucifer’s behaviour has hurt two friends of mine and i don’t want to associate with someone who actively breaks people’s boundaries without taking accountability when messing up.

3. i cannot associate with someone who spreads lies about me accusing me of sympathizing with exclusionists all while having me blocked so that i can’t see it nor defend me. they complain about people not hearing them out but they’re the very first person who does not try to hear people out, and instead jumps to spread baseless rumors. this is not someone i can nor want to associate with.

In a distant future, humans have all but done away with face to face interaction. Humanity largely lives online. Children grow up isolated and live with only their families well into young adulthood. Cybersex is the new normal, although some families take a puritanical approach for fear of addiction. One day, impossibly, a real life young man falls through the containment field in Freddie’s back garden.

Hi, eloping anon again! Thanks for your answer! I definitely came to the right place lol If you don't mind I'm asking another question... What are your thoughts about the cut/deleted sex scenes? First, it was JB talking and now the intimacy coordinator saying that they filmed "loads" of sex scenes that were cut. And CVD added even more fuel to the fire talking about the wedding and the scenes that they planned to do and changed their minds. Do you think we ever gonna get those deleted scenes?

Honestly, all of this talk about everything we were robbed of makes me fume with rage. Kathony is one of my top 3 ships in the bridgerton universe and I expected them to be treated with care and respect cause this ship has a huge fanbase. And that includes being thoughtful about their intimate scenes as well. I do like that they didn't even kiss until the conflict with Edwina was done since it would have felt wrong on many levels for them to kiss while Anthony was betrothed to her. But I did expect more emphasis on their intimate scenes afterwards, not because I wanted to see more erotic scenes but purely because touch is literally their love language in my opinion.

The scene where they have sex for the first time in the book is literally so beautiful, because in the midst being physically intimate, the two of them end up sharing their insecurities and connecting on such a deep emotional level. By that point, they were clearly in love but the other was totally unaware of it. Anthony made sure that Kate understood how valuable she is to him and that moment was so impactful to the story. That scene had a purpose and drove the story forward. Even though their sex scene in episode seven served it's purpose, I would have been very happy if we got just one quiet scene that truly showcased their emotional connection instead. I'm talking a beautifully lit, slow paced scene that felt truly private. But including any of that wasn't a possibility in the show because the writers ended up rewriting their story and dragging it in a different direction.

I was under the impression that the lack of sex scenes was on account of the filming issues that arose due to covid, and hearing about how those scenes were filmed only to be cut makes me wonder about the overall vision they had for kathony this season. The easy answer is that they gave away their screen time to make room for the subplots, which would be fine if the very little time they did have wasn't focused on Edwina. And the bitter truth is that they weren't able to fully capture the essence of kathony both as individuals and a couple, and failed to create a well paced story for them and probably ended up not having anywhere to fit those scenes they filmed because they moved their story around to accommodate the storylines of the side characters when it should've been the other way around. I also question why they decided to create this love triangle when the idea of one is so far from the feeling you get when you read tvwlm. If they are so fond of love triangles, focusing on one in Gregory's story would have felt less forced. (Not that I want to see grecy caught in one since I truly detest love triangles.) I can't help but think that the writers and CVD have an underlying hatred towards kathony since they were so so mistreated. I have theories about the reasons, but I won't get into that.

I hope that those scenes end up seeing the light of day because all of us would love to see them. But I won't hold my breath over it. I know that we can't help but have expectations when watching a show, especially one based on a beloved book series but I'm definitely gonna try to not have any expectations from this show. Now that CVD is no longer the show runner of the show, one can only hope that the rest of the couples will be treated better than kathony was.

I usually ask my friends weird questions like these and they either give their honest answer and/or question my sanity. So I thought I would try the same thing with the tumblr community.
