your inner child would like to tell you that they feel like you need to learn how to relax yourself, especially mentally. they could feel like you keep yourself in mental torment at times because you’re painfully aware of any and every possible judgement that people can make about you. about what you have as interests, about anything new that you add to your appearance, especially about anything new that you might wanna bring into your life. it seems like your inner child is basically saying that you pay too much attention to people that don’t really care about you, to be honest. your inner child could’ve been the type of child who was completely fine with being by themselves or completely fine with not fitting in with everyone else, but I feel like something might have switched in you that lead you to become more of a people pleaser. maybe your inner child was taught that their tendency to not care about other people’s judgement was wrong. but I feel like they’re quite intelligent (a free-thinker who questions everything) because it doesn’t seem like this has really affected them. it’s weird because I feel like the judgements that you have faced with the years has affected your current self. of course it’s going to break you down after a while - but your child self still holds onto what they personally feels matters the most. and that’s basically what makes them feel stable and fulfilled.

i’m also hearing them say that they wish that you would play more. i’m not exactly sure what type of “play” it would be, but specifically, if there are any sports that you used to play when you were a kid - or maybe if you were just more active - they’re asking you to get back into physical activity. you guys could also think back to the things that people (who are no longer even in your life) have said to you, and all of the ways that they have treated you. they want you to learn to value your own judgements about yourself and your life and what you have going on within it - instead of other peoples’ life and judgement. you could focus on other people way too much (especially those of you who scroll through social media, comparing your life to other’s). they want you to put your own opinion on a pedestal instead of other peoples’ and they also want you to not grieve and not regret losing people who weren’t good for you. fake friends that you had or just fake people in your life in general. because I’m seeing that there are two main people in your life that still clearly love and care for you, and your inner child is basically telling you to focus on them if you are going to focus on other people. I feel like your inner child is the type of child who really doesn’t care about other peoples judgements. they don’t care about who doesn’t like them and they wish that you would get back to that mindset.

Lilac: I usually connect pink and black colors with jay, but I can’t help but make Lilac her symbolic color, being her favorite color and all. Esp with the picture I chosen, It’s her favorite time of the day when the sky becomes purple.

Eureka Dunes Evening Primrose: Primroses actually have a special connection to Jay’s family, dating back to her great grandparents. I couldn’t help but pick this primrose specifically because of where it blooms, the desert. Primroses in general symbolizes new beginnings, which I feel like fits well with a lot of moments not only in Jay’s life, but the sandrock story in general.

Highland Cow: I actually have a headcanon with @sandrockianblues that we like to think highland cows are actually highwind cows in the my time series. And with that, I love the idea Highwind cows are the first creatures that Jay fell in love with when she moved to the free cities. Jay loves a lot of bovines, but I couldn’t help but keep this one in after @sandara-and-coco said that Jay and Sandara share the same spirit animal. ;o;✨💞

Keychains: Even though it’s a silly add-on I put in some of her outfits, these keychains do have a special place her jay’s life. It was one of first things she started making to give to her best friend, Ethan, and now it’s one of her gesture of showing how she sees someone as her friend.

1. The Sound of Magic: Anarasumanara (Drama)

The art of this webtoon is so gorgeous and every panel is deliberately drawn to convey a strong message. I remember crying when I first read this series. I can say this is one of webtoon's hidden gems (hidden in a way that it is locked behind daily pass 😅), but this is worth the effort of unlocking every chapter every day. (Also, I'm curious about the live action adaptation of this webtoon 🤔)

2. The Horizon (Drama)

Another short hidden gem locked in daily pass. Trigger warning: it has a dark and depressing content. If you are emotional like me, I suggest preparing tissues while reading this because this series also made me cry in some chapters. I love how this webtoon is drawn, it adds depth to how devastating the setting of this series.

3. Omniscient Reader (Action)

This is still ongoing and all chapters are free to read! I think you will love this series (because I noticed you like Jujutsu Kaisen 👀). The action scenes (and every chapter, tbh) were drawn beautifully and the entire theme of being a reader transported to the world of your favorite webnovel is greatly executed. What I like the most about this series is all characters are three-dimensional. Despite having supernatural powers, you can still feel their humanness. I first read this as a webnovel and fell in love with it instantly. I love Kim Dokja and if I were a character in this series, I'll also do my best to protect him (even though I know it's pointless 🤣)

4. Like Wind on a Dry Branch (Fantasy)

A gorgeous ongoing series about pain of losing someone you love, the hardships of finding your life's purpose, healing from all the past trauma you have, and finding love once again. This is a slow-burn romance between the two leads and what sets it apart from other fantasy manhwa set in historical is it lives by its historical setting. The language used by the characters is the formal old English, that's why many dropped this series when it was still at its early serialization because they had a difficulty understanding the conversation between characters 🤣 BUT!! it's worth every effort and time, and you can't help but love Rieta and hope for her happiness.

5. See You in My 19th Life (Romance)

The author of this series is one of my favorite webtoon artist & writer. The way she writes a story is satisfying from the beginning to end, with a lot of surprising twists here and there. That's what she pulled on this series. It's about a woman who have lived through 18 lives and she can all remember clearly, so she no longer feels the beauty of living because of it. But on her 18th life, she met someone who made her want to be an ordinary girl and enjoy being alive again. However, their time was cut short due to an accident. When she realized she's reborn in her 19th life, she promised herself that she will find him again and continue the promise they made together.

Ethan has a secret hiding spot on the hospital roof where he goes to take a breather from time to time. I mentioned it in the fic titled Fireworks. He asked Sawyer to meet him up there one evening. They were leaning against the half wall talking when he moved behind her and started kissing on her neck. One thing lead to another and soon he was taking her from behind. They finished just moments before a helicopter landed with an E.R. trauma.🏥🚁

There was another time they were at work and wanted each other so bad. They both kept suggesting places to sneak away only to find their plans for privacy foiled each time. Remembering a previously memorable session, Ethan suggested as a final attempt that she meet him in the parking garage.

When Sawyer exited the elevator, he pulled up in his car, rolled the window down and told her to get in. He then drove to the top level of the parking garage which was empty save one or two cars. He parked and walked around to the passenger side holding the door open for her. Sawyer stepped out utterly confused. But when Ethan moved the passenger seat all the way forward and closed the door, she caught on. He then opened the door to the back seat and told her to scoot to the middle. He took a quick look around to make sure the coast was clear, then got in after her. As soon as he closed the door he pulled her into his lap and took her for the ride of her life.🏎️ 🏁

Another memorable time was when they were at Alan's house for the weekend. Ethan offered to mow the lawn for his dad. Sawyer brought him a glass of water and was immediately turned on finding him shirtless and glistening with sweat. She watched as he finished the job then followed him to the tool shed where she pretty much jumped him. Alan watched from the kitchen window as Ethan kicked the door shut, smiling proudly that his son finally found someone to enjoy life with. Ethan then lifted her up on Alan's workbench and got to mowing his girlfriend.😏

Whew! I think I made it to the end. I imagine them getting it on all the time, but I honestly hadn't thought too much about some of these details. This was a really fun character development exercise.😉 And if your motivation was to inspire me to write more smut for Ethan and Sawyer...mission accomplished.

I tried to write something, but either it was very short and by that I mean extra short, or I ended up thinking that it was horrible and decided to delete it, so to get to the whole question, how did you start writing fanfics and how do you do it in general that your stories are always soooo perfect? Do you have any advice for people like me who want to start writing? I'm so honored that you would ask me for advice. I'll do my best, but, honestly? I'm my number one critic! I don't feel like I have the right to be advising anyone kdsjs. You say my stories are perfect but I don't believe that. I'm constantly frustrated by my lack of ability and depressed when I compare myself to my favorite fanfic authors.

But this leads us to our first lesson: You will always find someone who likes what you do. So don't worry too much about your first fics being too short or not being good enough. They're your first creations! You'll grow from there! And someone will like it. I mean, look at my first drabbles! They were- what? 300 words long? That's very short, but people liked them!

How did I start writing fanfics? I just did. I got an idea and I started writing it just because I thought it was fun. That idea was 'What If'. Hell, the whole concept was in the title, I'm not that creative 😂 And it wasn't supposed to be more than a fun oneshot! But then I thought "What could happen after that?" and I got more fun ideas, and people were asking for more anyway, so I wrote them.

Now. While I don't regret it by any means, because, as I said, you gotta start from somewhere and it was fun at the time... I do wish I had taken more time to think things through. If anyone's ever wondered why I used to write fast and now it takes me months, it's because now I worry about a 100 different things I did not think about when I first started. I usually just wrote the first thing that came to my head. And again, it was fun! People loved it! But, there is sooo much that I learned later. So many things that could've helped me make a better narration. So many things that I wouldn't have to go back to and change years later if I had taken the time to consider them the first time around.

So. For the sake of helping you and any other person who might want some advice, here are some things I would encourage anyone to do or don't do when writing a fanfic.

No matter what anyone tells you, there is nothing wrong with using the verb "Say." "He said, she said, they said"-- It's fine. You don't need to use a different verb every time. Different verbs are a great help when you want to add an specific edge to it. For example, if you say "he spat" the words, that immediately implies he was angry. You could also say "He said angrily" and it would convey the same message, but "growled" or "hissed" or "snapped" add a different image to it. It's all about preference and nothing is right or wrong.

Having said that- Don't ever use the word 'orbs'. Never. Please just say 'eyes' sdkfs.

Don't use the phrase "their tongues battled for dominance" because it's a fanfic meme by this point 😂 (I didn't know this when I started and I wish I had! I'm sure I used it somewhere 😂)

Similar to the whole 'Say' debacle, there's nothing wrong with repeating words if the context calls for it! For example, if it's a hot scene, you can use 'moan' more than once, there's no need to look for 8 different synonyms. (Sorry for the example, it was the first that came to mind skdf)

(Actually, I might have a whole list of Dos and Don'ts specifically for smut scenes, but I won't go into that kjsn)

Try to keep all the five senses in mind: sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. This is something I personally struggle with a lot, I forget most of them knsf. This does not mean that you need to mention all of them in every single scene, jesus no, that would be too much 😂 Personally, it just helps me when I want to add more to an scene. I think of what sense I haven't mentioned yet and go with one that fits.

Sometimes less is more! Don't worry if your writing style isn't as detailed or flowery as others you've seen before. Some people thrive describing settings, for example, and they might write 3 full paragraphs about the exact shade of the leaves on the trees and what kind of trees they are and how the sky looked and what the wind tasted like. If that's not you? It's okay! Sometimes, just saying "they were at a park with lots of greenery" it's enough. Hell, you could just say "they were at a park" and let people imagine it! Don't force yourself and just write what makes sense to you <3

It's okay to repeat characters' names! This is also something I wish I knew right away. Don't say "the Italian and the mexican" just say "Matteo and Simón". Same thing with "the brunette" or "the blonde". Those are fine sometimes, but I try not to use them either. "Girl," "boy", "woman," and the like are fine too sometimes.

Play with subtlety and try to make it feel human. AKA: try to avoid the melodrama. I've unknowingly fallen into it before so I know that it's hard. Hell- some people like it! And if you do, by all means, go ahead, I can assure you you'll find readers who love it. But if you want to avoid it, like me, just... try to avoid anything that sounds like it could be on Wattpad?? LJDKSF I don't even know how to explain this😂 The only example I can come up with is that, if someone is sad, they don't need to fall to the floor sobbing. How many people do you know that do that? Reserve any big displays of emotions only for huge emotional blows (Someone died, someone is dying, huge betrayal, someone is or could be sent to jail and it's innocent, apocalypse AU, stuff like that).

Also, try to avoid anyone being 100% right or 100% wrong. Real life isn't like Disney. People usually have reasons why they think or act a certain way. A girl might start acting cold to her boyfriend because she thinks he doesn't love her anymore. The boy might be confused and hurt by this because he does love her. If they talk about it, it would be wrong of the guy to just say "Well, you're wrong, I do love you" and leave it at that. We should focus on why the girl thought that. The girl might be "wrong", but feelings are never wrong; they just are. (And she should've talked to him instead of acting cold, they were both wrong in this scenario. See? No one's 100% right)

Personally, I see scenes in my head as if it were a movie or an episode and I describe in words what I see the actors do. That might help you or it might not-- Everyone is different! For thoughts, I just go with what I imagine they might be feeling based on what I know of the characters. Sometimes I have to reign myself in and not make them too self-aware though 😂 They haven't watched all the youtube videos on human psychology and couple's therapy that I have! 😂

That's another thing that might help you! Especially if you'll be writing romantic stories. I was first introduced to the concept of Couples Therapy because of this duo of therapists. They have some YouTube videos and a Podcast on Spotify if you wanna give it a listen. Recently, I've been watching a looot of Cinema Therapy. I totally recommend them! They're very fun and I always find something I can relate to Simbar bc I'm insane

Of course, I research so much because I don't have any personal experience, but if you do, draw from that! Whoever said that you shouldn't put your own stuff onto the characters is a liar! Simón talking about what he missed about México? I was thinking about what I missed while I was away from my own country. Ámbar not knowing that bowling balls have different weights? Literally happened to me- I wanted the blue one! The important thing is to keep in mind what the character is like and not just force your own beliefs on them. For example, I hate Luna with a burning passion, but I don't make the characters hate her too because I know that's not them. My friend Chiara has asked me multiple times why I haven't just killed Luna off in a fanfic. My answer is always the same: Simón would be so sad!!

You can also draw from experiences your friends told you about, or something that happened to your family, or you can read people's experiences on Reddit-- Anything works!

And since we're on the topic, I think one of the things that have helped me the most is just: Read. If you want to write, you have to read, that's just how it works. It helps you a lot to discover what kind of narration you like, what kind of narration you don't like, what phrases you like, what words you like. You can start analyzing what this specific author does so well that makes you love their stories. You can start realizing "Oh, I was liking this so much until they wrote that, I better not do the same thing." It's not about copying word for word, it's about trying to capture the essence and then shaping it onto your own style. (But C, what's my style? What is a style? I don't know! I don't even know what my own style is but I'm sure I have one. If you have your own brain, you have your own style, it's that simple. Everyone thinks differently after all!)

Lastly, but very important in my opinion, once you've written something: Check your spellings and grammar. There's this cool Chrome extension called "Grammarly" that I always use. I didn't know it when I first started and now it's a life saver!

This is all I can think at the moment. I'm sure there's more advice that could help, and I'm sure I'm not a paragon of wisdom, so, I invite you to google writing tips if you like, or you can search for that tag here on Tumblr too if you want some more profesional insights.

My main message to you is to just enjoy the love you have for these characters and let it inspire you. Fantasizing about your favorite ship is very fun! Let that fun be your guide ❤️

• the second OC is the first one's Venom. Japanese, inspired by the Visual Kei subculture, be it fashion, makeup, music, etc. An alternate version of her was Hobie's Gwen Stacy, but that version of her is dead by now. She was initially a villain, but now is considered an anti-hero and my other OC's friend.

This is inspired by a question that someone asked you recently hehe. If sometime in the future they both had phones, what would the LIs like MC to save them in their phone as? Any particular emojis? 

I imagine that they would be perfectly fine with whatever the main characters picked for them, but let's say that the main character hands them their phone saying 'you decide what you'll be saved as.'

The Physician would write her name (or nickname, if the main character picked one for her.) If they were a couple, she would give them a little smirk and ask 'do you mind if I add a red heart?'

Aubrey would write his name if they were friends, and My Beau if they were a couple. He would like emojis such as skulls and anatomical hearts, but if there was a certain emoji that the main character used a lot when they wrote to him, he would use that.

Vesa would like something fun and personal, so if there was something they used to call her, some inside-thing, she would like that. Otherwise she would just write something silly. It would read something like The Great and Mighty 🥂🌸🥂 if they were friends, and if they were a couple it would read something like The Hot and Spicy 🔥💞🌶️

Narciso would just write his name, ending it with a period. 'Feel free to change it to your liking, should you feel like it.'

Roswhen would simply type: 🌹

Elan would write his name in lowercase letters and a :) after it. He would want to write a <3 if they were a couple, but he wouldn't dare. Perhaps it looked conceited or something? But he would find it endearing if his partner added a heart.

OKAY some months ago I asked you about your views-per-season of The Flash and I loved all the answers and now it's time...to ask your overall views on Cobra Kai per season!!

Oooh interesting! My memory of CK events is not quite as strong as Flash events (considering I'm hyperfixated on the Flash and not CK currently), but I’m gonna do my best to cover all my bases. And ofc, anyone can feel free to ask me to expand on any of these:

Season 1

—Definitely my favorite season…mostly because it a) is the least terrible and b) had the most potential to improve

—Johnny’s arc started off so strong here. It makes me so sad. He was put on a journey to become a better person/father, and the later seasons just threw that away. But it’s wonderful here 💞 he’s a screw-up, but we have hope he’ll improve! Character growth and all that

—Miguel getting jealous of Sam and Robby is complete bs. Sam and Robby literally did not do anything!! They were just smiling and laughing together!! Having dinner together at the LaRusso house because Robby was staying with them!! They were being friendly!!

—And then on top of that, Miguel hurting Robby and then not even apologizing for it?? And not understanding why Sam was upset?? Just…ugh

—Sam apologizing to Aisha was sweet! Definitely something Aisha needed to hear 💞

Season 2

—I didn’t like either of the romances here, sorry. The chemistry didn’t click with me for Sam & Robby or Tory & Miguel—both pairs were far better as friends imo

—On that note: adding the romance was a bad decision imo! It did not add anything!! It was a lazy way of justifying the Sam-Tory rivalry, when class differences would’ve been way more compelling (and was, in fact, their initial reason for disliking each other!!). Honestly, if they need someone to fight over, why not Aisha?? Not every love triangle/corner has to be romantic—mix it up and make it platonic for once! It would make so much sense too—Sam betrayed Aisha, she apologized, they were mending bridges, now Aisha has a new friend in Tory and told Tory some not-so-nice things about Sam. There’s compelling drama! Who needs romantic love corner bs when the better option is right there

—I have mixed feelings about 2x8. Now, I’m a Samguel shipper and always will be, but that kiss was…something else, I did not like it (and I'm planning to fix it in my AU, when we get there). HOWEVER I want to make something clear: Sam was not an active participant in that kiss. She was so drunk she could barely walk, let alone make rational decisions (we see, later that episode, that she couldn’t make any decisions, actually—all she could do was beg Robby not to take her home!). Miguel, however, was an active participant in that kiss—we don’t know how much he had to drink, but it was definitely less than Sam, and he didn’t seem to struggle with speech, coherency, or walking. So either he was sober, or close to it…enough that he was aware of what he was doing

—In that vein: Tory knew that Sam was that drunk, and thus wouldn't have been actively participating in that kiss, so if she really wanted to go after someone as revenge for being cheated on…why not her boyfriend??

—Daniel was way too harsh on Robby. Robby didn’t do anything wrong!! Sam begged him not to take her home, so he took her somewhere else safe!!

—This season does a good job introducing Tory, though, and raising the stakes. The non-romance stuff going on is generally pretty good

Season 3

—Daniel & Johnny are once again idiots this season, and Robby deserves better than both of them. At least Daniel…sorta tries to make amends? But eh.

—That Japan plot line was…so random. I know why it was included (they had to nostalgia-bait us) but…it was so pointless??

—Chozen is awesome. I love him. I was sorta neutral about him in KK2 (I hated him for most of it, and then I felt a little sympathetic towards him by the end), but here?? He’s awesome! I love how he turned his life around, that he’s now friends with Kumiko, and that he teaches!! He’s a delight :D

—The Daniel/Kumiko scenes are wayyy too romanticized considering Daniel is married with two kids (fandom: this is a problem with you too. Stop romanticizing these scenes!! Cheating of any kind is not romantic!! Stop it!!)

—Johnny didn’t technically cheat since he and Carmen weren’t official or anything, but uh. If memory serves, he did sleep with Carmen the night before (correct me if I’m wrong), so going out on a date with Ali is very weird?? Idk if we were supposed to read romance into that interaction, I know they did part on polite, non-romantic terms, but it’s just….so weird. What is it with this season and trying to bring up old flames for some reason

—I’m also generally neutral on Johnny/Carmen, and it’s because from the minute they get together, Carmen starts being sidelined to no end. More on that in the s5 section, which is where she gets it the worst

—This is more of a fandom thing, but anyone who denies Sam’s PTSD or makes fun of it gets an instant block from me. Because literally wtf

—God I wish Daniel & Johnny’s rivalry had just ended here. That party scene of them making peace was so 🥺 it would’ve been the perfect transition point from rivals to friends/co-senseis

—Daniel and Johnny just leaving Robby with Kreese without even trying to object is just?? Why?? They couldn't even make a tiny effort?? Nothing?? (Also, Robby is legally Johnny's anyway, could he not just. Drag Robby away by force. Is now really the time to worry about whether your son likes you, Johnny?? Now of all times?? Mayhaps get him safe first, and then worry about stupid nonsense that's your own fault anyway??)

Season 4

—My least favorite season, hands down

—Amanda helping Tory based on Kreese’s advice is just downright stupid. There were so many other ways to do this plotline right. It doesn’t even make sense considering Amanda wanted to throw Tory in Shawshank last season!! But Kreese of all people changed her mind?? Give me a break

—I am a Sam LaRusso defender, especially in this season, but…her harassing Tory at work was uncalled for. Her beef with Tory was 100% valid, but there’s no reason to make work terrible for Tory too. And turning the kids against her?? Why?? The kids have no stake in this, leave them out of it!

—Tory/Robby is…fine, but much like the s2 ships, I never got the sparks from them

—Robby apologizing to Johnny is the worst thing ever. Still makes me so mad

—Anthony being the bully could’ve been great if they’d done anything with it. Drew parallels to Johnny, had Anthony realize how far he went and back off, something like that…but instead, Kenny strikes back and now Anthony becomes the victim. Great 🤦‍♀️

—Silver wasn’t good in this season 🤷‍♀️ sorry not sorry

—Daniel yelling at Anthony and breaking his tablet was wrong, full stop. I got so mad about this that I wrote a fix-it for it.

Season 5

—Johnny is a terrible dad, and this season confirmed that the writers either don’t know or don’t care about fixing that! In general as a character, he's been beyond saving for a few seasons, but...man this one just really hammered in how much he's regressed. He's just barely a few inches past s1, which is actually an improvement from s4!

—I can’t believe they keep giving Carmen less and less agency each season. I swear she’s just Johnny’s eye candy at this point, like wtf?? Hello?? Why is Johnny more of a presence in Miguel’s life than his OWN MOTHER?? Why is she reduced to “the mother of Johnny’s unborn baby”??

—The Mexico story was…fine, ig. However, Carmen barely being a player in that storyline will haunt me. Literally screw you, writers

—This season marks yet another POC introduced and inducted into…Cobra Kai. Yikes, guys. Your POC get to be written off the show, sidelined, or put into the “evil” dojo now, huh? Very progressive 🤦‍♀️

—Chozen was a star in this season, I still love him 🥰 however, there’s no way he and Kumiko were a couple. That was just dumb

—Tory being a mentor to Devon was sweet!

—I did not expect to like Mike Barnes in this season. Like omg. He was great (also…not to rec, but I’m totally gonna rec your series bad boy (no more) because I adore your characterization of him 💞)

—Why did Silver and Kreese split up?? Like…that was so dumb. Literally why did they do that. It was some bs about Johnny iirc, and I hate it.

—Listen. I am so glad Sam and Tory are friends now. So, SO glad (even tho I did that first smh). However, it will always irk me that Sam was the one to apologize first, not Tory

—Silver was an insanely menacing villain this season 💞 totally made up for last season when, imo, he was wasted. We get to see Daniel’s KK3 trauma on full display! However, I think bringing in another sensei (Kim Da Eun I think was her name?) to inflict that on Tory was very dumb. It should’ve been Silver himself doing that to Tory, not a new character we barely know

—Seriously guys can we stop introducing new characters?? Can we just flesh out the ones we already have??

—I have…mixed feelings about the crane kick. On the one hand, Silver being bested by his own technique + crane kick is satisfying to some degree, but on the other hand, it...goes counter to the themes of Miyagi-Do as presented in the movies. The show in general has this problem (which I've reblogged posts about, but I'm also happy to talk about in a separate ask) with treating violence as the Final Solution. This show misunderstands pacifism on a fundamental level, acting like it's a coward's way out and not a brave thing. Pacifism is not inaction—it is the active choice to refuse a fight with someone because it will do neither of you any good. Imagine how furious Silver would be if Daniel, kindhearted Daniel who has spent 3 movies learning the value of pacifism from Mr. Miyagi, just looked Silver in the eyes and refused to fight him!

Okay I...think that's everything? I've reblogged a lot of CK posts, so you can probably get a pretty good idea from those too, but generally speaking, these are my thoughts currently.
