Hiii, idk if this is a problem on cogdemos or maybe a file got missing when porting the game but after you finish eating (I guess aksjs?) in the masquerade, the game keeps loading and loading and never advances towards the following scene (I run into this problem after the MC eats on their own and with Aubrey)
Hi, thank you for telling me! There was indeed a file that was missing - I hope it works now!

You're still getting blocked, since this is obviously written to upset me or something of the sorts, and I don't have the energy for that, should it continue, but it did make me snort. My gross, ugly cat.

I'm sorry, wrong again, now the stat screen calls me a hideous little monster instead. /J
You are ${name} ${lastname}, a hideous little monster, and you're doing just great.

Don't joke about the sarcastic description of the PC over staying it's welcome. Apologize to your readers instead.
I don't know, I find it somewhat amusing (in a 'haha, sigh'-kind of way, not in a 'this is hilarious'-kind of way) how I apparently uploaded the same outdated document over and over while thinking 'finally, these are the correct stats,' and then the confusion when people commented (in a fun and friendly way) on a description that I thought was long gone, making me wonder if I just dreamed that I uploaded the (not) totally accurate document, or something of the sort, since I can be absent-minded. As a matter of fact, you're the only one who has told me I owe people an apology. Sure, I should have taken a closer look, but I don't think it's all that serious, you know, since it didn't affect the actual game/gameplay, and the stats were (and are) a work in progress as it were and as it is.
#it would be different if it was a game-breaking bug or something#I'd apologise for that#it's understandable if people found it annoying but it was just a sentence

Joke aside... At the moment, the stats have been updated according to your character's temperament, but as for now, things are a bit simplified; I plan to implement some sort of relationship stats/descriptions (which is what I'm having some trouble with; I need to take a good look at the documents to see exactly what I did when using these hidden stats,) and I temporarily removed the information about other characters, to make things less clunky until I've updated this and that - this is because I hadn't even started mentioning characters from different paths and such, and I didn't want things to just cut off.
So, well. I'm working on this.

Daunted by an intimidating and severely outdated stat screen. Suddenly I don't remember the definition of the words 'coding' and 'counting;' as far as I'm concerned, they are both abstract concepts.

So here I was going to "mourn" (in jest) the "Niko always forgets to update his stats, despite being absolutely certain he did so long ago"-joke, what with each and every character still having the joking, in most cases even sarcastic, description about virtuos values, upstanding morals, refined manners, and whatnot. Now that I have moved the files, it will finally be the correct ones, after all.
...it turns out that I haven't even updated that certain file; it's still sitting pretty in another document. That explains a thing or two; I probably thought I updated it, when all I did was to upload the very same file.
It will be changed according to your temperament soon enough, though. Believe me, this joke will be retired. Tomorrow, most likely.

Thank you for helping your fellow authors out, Harris!
Dashingdon closure and new ChoiceScript WIP site
Dashingdon is closing soon and if you have a WIP hosted there, you have a few options:
Add it to cogdemos.ink, the Dashingdon successor with an updated codebase
Compile it and upload to itchio (make sure it's listed under "no payments" under pricing)
Compile it and share on google drive
Compile it and share on the Choice of Games forum if you have a WIP thread there

Hello there, I hope you're well! I wanted to let you know in case you hadn't seen, that dashingdon is closing soon - if you were up for it and wanted to, it would be lovely if you could move Fervency to cogdemos so the game would remain playable (obviously if that's not the case, that's understandable!) (there's some more info here: https://forum.choiceofgames.com/t/dashingdon-free-choicescript-game-hosting/9250/798)
Hi! I'm doing quite well, and I hope you are, too. Thank you so much for telling me, that's so kind of you, and I appreciate that you told me where I can put it as well - I saw a reblog about it in passing earlier, but I had no idea what the alternatives were, so your message saved me some searching and awkwardness! I do want Fervency to remain playable, so I'll make sure to move it soon enough. Have a good day!

Since some characters allegedly have thick accents... Have you ever considered writing them phonetically? I think that would be immersive.
I wouldn't be comfortable with that; to me, it would feel as if some accents were the default and correct ones, and others were, well, the 'other.'
