I've been missing the reverse reincarnations AU so I want to ask how would the Reincarnated!RO react if they see the portrait painting of themself in a museum? One that MC painted in deep grief?
Oh, that takes me back, haha! (For newer followers; a while ago, I got some asks with 'what if'-scenarios regarding reincarnation, both about if the main character died and got reincarnated, or the 'reverse' one, where the love interests died and got reincarnated.)
The Physician would feel touched, but wistful. It would be a quietly emotional experience for her, and she wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it for quite some time.
Aubrey would be touched too, but proud (and very proud of the main character, too) - a bit smug, perhaps. The way the main character wanted to show him, and their own grief, to the world. He himself could never do that - if he created a portrait because of grief, he would keep it to himself, very private. He would appreciate this difference.
Vesa would find it tragically beautiful - but more beautiful than tragic. She would see it as a celebration of their time together, and she would be impressed by the main character displaying their vulnerability.
Narciso would feel conflicted. In a way, it would make him feel a bit exposed, and he wouldn't be able to relate to the fact that the main character wanted to expose their own grief like this.
Roswhen would find it beautiful and a bit surreal. They wouldn't be able to say anything for quite some time.
Elan would feel completely speechless, and incredibly emotional. He would almost have a difficult time looking at it, since his feelings would be so strong. It wouldn't be negative, though.

Fervency sci-fi/cyberpunk AU where the Physician is a roboticist "curing" people by placing their consciousness into a robot body, something which is definitely illegal for an ordinary person not working for a specific company (and you can't really transfer someone's mind, only copy it, so a lot of people would argue it's immoral because you can't actually help anyone by doing this- only making a copy that can live happily while the original might be left to die)
#fervency#I probably didn't do a good job explaining this but whatever#This... may be an excuse to imagine robot designs for the ROs (especially bc some would probably look less human if given the choice)#I haven't yet thought of if there'd be a counterpart to the hunger or how it'd work but. Shh

Aubrey is one of the companion ROs from a mature gothic horror interactive fiction in development called "Fervency" by @thisisnikocha .
My favourite little blorbo of a hedonist who paints with his victim's 🩸 🤭 My sweetest little macabre loving wolf. The apple of my undead eyes 💀 My insane lover in the after life *continues her incoherent ramblings*

ROs AND THE POTENTIAL ROs reaction to the age-old question... "Would you still love me if I was a worm?"
Aah, the question for the ages... I had replied to this question before, back when there were only The Physician, Aubrey, Vesa, and Narciso, tried to search for it, and...
...I don't know. I just thought it looked funny. Content-free for worm. But I did find it. In either case... From that certain post:
The Physician would giggle and say "worms are quite interesting creatures, aren't they? I do believe I would like you well enough."
Aubrey would raise an eyebrow and ask "what on earth are you talking about? Did you, per chance, have some liquor just now? Why didn't you tell me so; I would have loved to share a glass with you!"
Narciso would be quite amused, but reply in a very flat voice "I would never have gotten to know you in the first place if you were a worm." (And another thing: he does not like worms. He's squeamish.)
Vesa would laugh, poke the tip of the main character's nose, and say "of course I would!"
And the two other people from the Physician's path:
Roswhen would laugh and tell them that they would probably be an adorable worm. Oh, they very much prefer them as a human, but if? Yes, they would love them if they were a worm.
Elan would be a bit confused by the question, but it would make him chuckle, too. Why are they asking this? But he would love them. He would take good care of them and all. Yet... Please, don't transform into a worm if you can help it. It would feel awkward.
As for some upcoming ones and such, since you asked about potential love interests also:
Francesco would give them a smirk, a little bit open and pearly-teethed; "no. Of course I couldn't love a worm," before winking and taking the main character's hand, giving it a little kiss.
Bess would ask if it was a regular worm, or a more... human-like one. Human intelligence, and all that. Yes, she could love them if so, but she's very sorry to say that she wouldn't find her the least bit attractive anymore. How unfortunate.
Maryam would joke around, pretending to be shocked; "what are you trying to tell me? Have you been a worm all along? Or do you feel a worm-like transformation coming your way? This is worrisome!"
Bryars would sigh, shake his head, and put a hand upon his forehead in a most dramatic manner. "Ah! A worm? Will I, forever, be known as the lover of worms? Oh, so be it! I simply love you too much."
Lili would tell them that they would make sure to get themselves a garden with good soil, so their beloved worm could live well. Also, they would make themselves a scarecrow. Watch out for birds!

a common question is "what is your type??" a less common question is "what is the type of person who often have YOU as your type?" i ask the second one for the ROs! which typ e of eprson often flirted/was attracted to them ?? (you can answer it personally too if you like ;) curious)
There hasn't really been a pattern when it comes to the Physician.
People who were interested in Aubrey were often quite hedonistic.
Vesa has been popular among artsy people.
Narciso has been loved by music lovers; many are groupies after all.
Roswhen's lovers have been somewhat free-spirited.
Elan... Well... Going by people writing to me about their main characters, along with a playtest-fellow of my own... Gardeners?
#fervency ros#Answering it personally in the tags: literature people (any gender) and goth women are the patterns I have seen.

What would the ROs think about cinema since they would be alive in its advent?
The Physician would be mildly curious, and would go there if someone invited her.
Aubrey would be interested in the horror movies.
Vesa would be very interested, and quickly become a great fan of it. She would miss silent movies when they went out of fashion.
Narciso would believe it was a fad, but he would come around and respect it as an art form later on.
Roswhen would be interested enough, they would find it fairly fascinating.
Elan would genuinely enjoy it.

How would the parents of the ROs think of the the ROs if they can see them now? And what would they think of the ROs relationship with MC?
I had a feeling this could go into angst, sweet, or bittersweet direction but what is life without a little kick to it~
Indeed, haha - there will be different directions here!
The Physician's parents, I do believe they are deceased, would be a bit concerned about her morals, and the way she chose in life. I don't think they would resent her or anything because of it, though - more confusion and worry on their parts. I think their view of her relationship with the main character would be quite neutral.
Aubrey's mother is alive and really missing Aubrey; all she wants is for him to be safe. She knows all about the chaos in the village, and is worried about her boy. She doesn't care too much about his new 'lifestyle' - he's just doing it to survive, and would be willfully ignorant regarding the fact that he's having a little too much fun with it. She wouldn't mind his relationship with the main character at all - it's nice that he found love, and she would most likely approve of the main character in one way or the other.
Vesa's mothers, I do believe they are both alive, are sweet women, and would be saddened by the fact that their beloved daughter turned into some sort of 'monster,' but they wouldn't blame her for it. They would blame the circumstances, and the person who turned her into a 'wolf.' They would be curious about her relationship with the main character.
Narciso's parents, both deceased, never cared about Narciso. The vampirism would probably disgust them, but that's about it.
Roswhen's parents would be worried about them, and hoping that they were careful and trying to stay safe. They would be happy about Roswhen's and the main character's relationship - they would just hope that their lifestyle didn't make things more dangerous.
Elan's late parent would be overjoyed to know that Elan survived the plague - that's all that would matter to them. They would highly approve of Elan's and the main character's 'doctor-patient relationship' and find it quite touching.

How would the ROs react if they caught MC staring at them with a serious look and if they asked why MC just straight up tell them "l'm just admiring the beauty of my love"???
The Physician would smile gently, and feel quite touched - they seem so sweet and sincere, what with this serious look on their face. 'You find me beautiful enough to admire in this manner, you say? It is an honour, my dear, to be admired by someone such as you.'
Aubrey would laugh a little; oh, so that's what they're doing? Admiring him? Now, that's quite flattering, even though he can feel a bit odd if it feels as if someone stares at him - particularly his face. But the reason they stated makes it more than fine - he will let them admire him as much as they wish. He certainly does enjoy feeling beautiful, and they're acting so lovable right now.
Vesa would smile widely yet kindly. 'Aren't you the sweetest? Perhaps my portrait should hang on the wall in the basement of the lounge. I'm happy to be admired, and especially by you. You're gorgeous, too, darling - and now I don't want to take my eyes off you.'
Narciso is very used to people admiring his beauty, but this is different - he would react to the sincerity and serious tone as well, and how they called him their love. It would make it all feel so much real and genuine, and he would be quite touched - almost flustered, even, but he would do his best to hide it. 'You may look, my sweet. Your beauty, too, is something to admire.'
Roswhen would smile widely and genuinely, and think aww - they would almost feel awkward, but in an amusing way. They simply aren't too used to gestures such as these, and it makes them very happy, but they wouldn't be entirely sure of what to say, more than telling their partner just how sweet and precious they are. After a while they may make some lighthearted joke; 'watch out, or I'll start to think I'm the most beautiful person in the land... Oh, after you, of course! I'll start to think I'm the second most beautiful person.'
Elan would definitely not know what to say, and it would make him feel touched and shy in equal manner. What he would want to do most of all in this situation would be to give them a warm embrace.

I'm one of those people who picks up nice rocks off the ground (I'm autistic if that makes a difference) and sometimes give my friend or mom. What would the LIs think if they got a nice rock? Nothing valuable just something MC thought was nice? Bonus question: do you ever do that Niko?
The Physician would find it nice and charming. She likes nature, and it's sweet that they gave her a personal gift. She would probably put it in a box with personal and treasured belongings.
Aubrey would think that it was a very fun thing to do. He loves pretty things, and would like their perspective as well - oh, so your gaze is down on the ground looking for nice things? That's neat.
Vesa would love it - she adores gifts overall, and the more thoughtful or personal, the better, no matter the monetary value. She would have it on display, perhaps on a shelf with other pretty objects.
Narciso would find it so charming. Grounded. Nothing that would really have crossed his own mind - but such a pleasant gesture.
Roswhen would be very happy, and I can fully imagine them doing the very same thing. They would keep it in their pocket, to touch and fiddle with from time to time.
It would make Elan smile. A nice, humble gift, for a mostly nice and mostly humble man. Definitely appreciated. He would carry it with him, because of its sentimental value.
As for the bonus question, it's not something I usually do, but if I see something shine on the ground, I just have to check it out - and I do like myself a pretty rock, even so! (I'm very fond of pretty crystals, and the like, for example. I have a treasured raw rose quartz, raw amethyst, and raw citrine.) I brought two random rocks home, for the first time... since childhood, I believe... a few weeks ago, though. One was pretty, with a nice and smooth texture. The other one was just neat. I should do that more often... Here they are:

Hello! I found your story yesterday, and I just… can't believe I stumbled upon it by accident, it's such a good story, and it really shows that you probably pursued some sort of literature degree. The style is amazing. English isn't my first language, and I'm still learning it, and maybe that's why I love seeing it used so... beautifully, for lack of better words on my part. And the amount of reactions and variables in the text is impressive!
I'm not sure if you watch anime, but in some ways your story reminded me a little of Shiki anime (based on a novel series by Fuyumi Ono) in its atmosphere. This is one of my favorite works, with such a unique take on this type of monster. In the anime, they are pretty much dead, unlike in Fervency, and still… Something about the way they look and behave in this anime reminds me of your cannibals and vampires. I love it.
I hope you don't find such comparisons uncomfortable. I know some authors go through attacks with ridiculous accusations of plagiarism, which can cause a negative reaction. But that's not what I meant at all, and I just wanted to sincerely say that your work has the similarly unique and distinctive core despite how popular vamps are.
Now, the last thing I wanted to mention. I'm aware that this is a very specific thing to comment on, but… I'm currently doing my Aubrey run, and can I just say how loved and seen I felt when Aubrey said how beautiful and delicate my wrists are, how he can wrap his hands around them… my breath hitched; I literally shivered at that moment, aah. At my silly 160 cm, I am indeed a person blessed with slender and delicate wrists, and I consider them pretty. But to hear it from someone else – that was a very personal and warm.
Honorable mention to the neck ribbon praises, too. Such a fuzzy feeling 💙
Have a good day!
Hi! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a long and detailed message, and your kind words - I truly appreciate it!
Aw, I'm so happy that you enjoy the story and its writing - it means a lot to me (who did, indeed, pursue a literary degree, at that!) English isn't my first language either, so it warms my heart to read that you think that I'm using the language beautifully. Also, I'm always glad when people notice that there are a large amounts of reactions and variables - it's definitely a labour of love, haha. Thank you!
I don't have much knowledge whatsoever when it comes to anime, I'm afraid, so this isn't something I'm familiar with - but you have absolutely piqued my curiosity here! I should look it up, because I'm very interested in experiencing the atmosphere and such now that you have mentioned this! And don't worry, I definitely didn't take it in bad faith, I only read it as a comparison, (and one that made me intrigued, at that,) so I wasn't uncomfortable whatsoever, it's all good and well!
Ah! I'm glad that said scene made you feel seen in that manner (and I have to say, I really appreciate when people point out very specific details. It's really nice to see as an author.) Aubrey and I alike are happy about your reaction! It can be such a pleasant feeling when things feel genuinely personal, so I fully understand. (Sidenote, 160 cm is the height I imagine Aubrey himself to be, so you share that! And I'm not much taller, myself, at 164, haha.)
I'm happy you liked that, too! Fuzzy feelings are nice indeed! 🫶
Have a good day, you too, and again, thank you!

What would the ROs do if MC asked if they like them to kiss them, and after they said yes, they just smirked and like oh I’ll keep that in mind and just walked off instead of kissing them?
The Physician would shake her head; oh, don't play those games with her... Tsk, tsk, tsk...
Aubrey would feel slightly embarrassed, but it wouldn't be the end of the world; he has flirted with them before, so the answer probably didn't come as a surprise anyway.
Vesa would smirk and tell them that they're being awfully silly... But fine, sure enough, they're very much allowed to keep that in mind.
They would definitely need to keep this in mind if they were interested in Narciso, because after something like that, it would wholly be on them to take the next step; he would certainly be quite unamused and unimpressed, but he wouldn't be particularly upset either.
Roswhen would feel flustered and amused at the same time. What a tease. Oh well... Let's see what happens.
Elan would feel sincerely hurt, and very embarrassed - he would think that they just played tricks on him and wanted him to feel shame, since it would have taken a lot of courage to even say 'yes' in the first place. It would not be a good idea to do this to him... He would just take it in bad faith and feel sad about it.

MC is going to die, MC knows they are going to die. Not matter how, they will die in a year.
They have spent 4 months trying to accept it. looking for a solution without success.
Finally, with 8 months left until the day arrives, MC confesses the truth to Ro, begging for forgiveness for not telling them right away.
How would the ROs react? and how they would spend the last months with MC?
The Physician would have wished that they told her right away, or at least sooner, so that they could have spent that time looking for a solution together, but she wouldn't blame them - she would understand why they went through that alone, and wouldn't be upset with them for keeping it from her. Now, she would want to cherish the time that they had left together - if she was convinced that the main character's death was inevitable. She would be very respectful towards the main character and their dignity, and ask them a lot of questions about how they wanted to spend these months. She would be devastated by the news, but do her best to be a source of comfort and support. Her own grief would have to come later.
Aubrey would be in denial - no, he refuses to accept that this is how it will end. They can't just die like that, there must be a solution, they just haven't found it yet. He wouldn't be rational whatsoever - he wouldn't be optimistic or anything, just absolutely desperate.
Vesa would be there for them, all the time if they wished her to be, catering to their every need and want. Like the Physician, she would be devastated, but try her best not to make it about her and her own grief and sorrow - she will have all the time in the world to grieve later on. It would be extremely difficult, though.
Narciso would feel absolutely crushed by this - he really did think the main character would be someone constant, someone he actually got to keep in his life for once. It seems that it wasn't so, after all. He would thank them for telling him at all, and ask them not to apologise. He understands why they waited. It would be hard for him to smile, but he would do his best to put up a brave face (as he often does - and now it would feel even more important, since he was doing it for someone else, someone who meant a lot to him.) He would spend these months the way the main character wanted to spend them. They would get to make every decision.
Roswhen wouldn't really know what to say, and they would be sad that they went four months without telling them. It must have been such a burden to carry all alone, and they wished they could have been there for them during that period. They would want to make the main character's last months as nice and comfortable as possible. Enjoy life together, and create memories - for the main character to cherish in the present, and for themselves to cherish in the future.
Elan wouldn't be able to act strong for them, or put up a brave face at first - his devastation would shine through, and he would feel guilty about it. He should be calmer, for their sake, he would think - but it would take time. They would probably have to lean on one another for comfort and support. Like many of the others, he would let the main character decide how they wanted to spend these months.

I don't normally care for angst all that much, but I just got reminded that the hanahaki disease was a trope... So, my question to you, dear Niko, is... How would the characters react if the MC had it? Just seeing the MC spluttering and coughing out petals. The characters having no idea who the person who has unrequited feelings towards the MC is (them, it's them). Until it then progresses even further, and it's too late... Also, a bonus question. For each character, what kind of flowers would the MC splutter out (be it the character's favourite flower, favourite colour, the vibe the flower is, or basing it off Victorian flower language)?
Definition for anyone who doesn't know what it is:
The Hanahaki Disease is an illness born from unrequited love, where the patient’s throat will fill up with flowers, they will then proceed to throw, and cough up the petals, (sometimes even the flowers). One of the only ways for the disease to ‘disappear’ is if, the said person returns the feeling (it can’t be resolved with friendship, it has to be genuine feelings of love). The infection can also be removed through surgery, though the feelings disappear along with the petals. If they choose nether options, or the feeling is not returned in time, then the patient’s lungs will fill up with flowers, and will eventually suffocate.
I was utterly unfamiliar with this trope, I will have to admit, so thank you for clarifying - it was definitely of help to me, at least, haha! Therefore, if my reply is a bit wonky and confused, that's why - this is the first time I ever heard of this.
The Physician's first instinct would be to find a cure in some way or the other - it can't progress like that, the meaning of it be damned. (In the happiest of worlds, they would realise that they had feelings for one another while she was searching for the cure, and that would fix it. All is well that ends well, and so on.) This main character would cough up blue petals, like bluebells, or some kind of blue salvia.
If Aubrey lost the main character to this, he would be absolutely haunted by the sight of the petals. His artwork would hereafter depict petals, petals, and petals in the foreground or background - to honour them while also wordlessly speaking about his pain seeing these petals. This main character would cough up red poppy petals.
Vesa would take care of them in every and any way she could, and do some serious soul-search at the same time, if she knew about the cause for this. If she lost the main character to this, she would have a hard time even looking at a flower again, since it would remind her of sickness and death. The main character might cough up lilacs, like the scent of her perfume, or violets, or red roses.
Narciso would be hellbent on solving it (because it would feel more like a riddle than a disease,) whatever it may take. He would do research, talk to experts, do some serious soul-searching, and so on, and so on. He wouldn't stay idle. This main character might cough up daffodils or the like, if the illness was particularly cheeky.
Roswhen would take good care of the main character, and they would also talk to the Physician about it, if this was a timeline where they had become friends; she's wise and knows about medicine, while Roswhen would feel out of their depth... They would worry constantly. This main character would cough up red rose petals.
Elan would find a way to blame himself for this, if he knew what this was all about. In one way or another, he would feel guilty and filthy. I believe this main character would cough up apple blossoms.

Do the ros think bats or wolves are cuter? :D
The Physician is a 'bat,' and finds bats a little bit cuter.
Aubrey is a 'wolf,' and finds bats cuter.
Vesa is a 'wolf,' and finds wolves cuter.
Narciso is a 'bat,' and finds bats cuter.
Roswhen is a 'wolf,' and finds both equally cute.
Elan is a 'bat,' and... I think he finds both about equally cute, albeit bats are a tad creepy, and wolves a tad intimidating - but both are nice in their own way. But I think he prefers wolves, since he likes dogs.
