Made an oc drawing game :D
I thought it would be fun to make some prompts to draw ocs with that focused on using visual symbolism to describe the character so I made this.
Feel free to give it a try; The template should be transparent if I did this thing right. If you don’t like prompts you can alter them and you don’t need to stick to a one colour palette like I did. Just have fun!
If you end up drawing stuff for this I’d appreciate if you credit me with the template!

I am both forgetful and shy#tag for the currently unnamed oc I filled this out with ->#the eye-gouged witch#The hubris drawing is the one I’m least happy with. It was supposed to reference Icarus but I don’t think it came across well#I’m pretty proud of the rest though :)

Welcome ✧
I've been into hetalia since 2016 and for a while I tried to pretend I didn't like it....And I'm tired of living that lie! So I'm back to thinking, loving, obsessing, and writing about Hetalia.
I also block very freely and I'd rather people be 18+ to interact (since occasionally I may post nsfw/nsft which I will always tag)
I'm currently working on a few fanfictions which you can find on AO3 and FF.net
My favorite character is Canada 🍁 And I ship him with pretty much anyone...and I mean anyone...If that makes you uncomfortable please feel free to block this blog or the tags associated with ships you are uncomfortable with. I may at times reblog problematic ships, I'll add tags for the ship and a cw for the problematic element of the ship. Please take care of your mental health and curate your online space to what is best for you ♡ ˎˊ˗
more information below the canada picture
Wow, you clicked continue reading so here's more annoying stuff about me and this blog (^_^)
I spam reblog, mostly fanart (so many in this fandom are so talented!) and miscellaneous things (memes, random shit, writing tips, etc).
I'll occasionally post some of my own fanfictions (drabbles or links to them)
I also will post my rambling silly thoughts. I have decided to let myself loose and be as annoying authentic as possible here.
Also I will do my best to tag content/trigger warnings but I may forget (memory of a goldfish) so if I do please let me know
Here are some tags I use on this blog to organize (still working on what tags to use) ᯓ★
#art reblog ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡): self explanatory
#hetalia fanart ✨: reblogs of hetalia fanart
#canon tbh: posts that I see as accurate to character's personalities, how I perceive them, and how I think they'd act
#hetalia fanfiction:
#hetalia meme:
#positivity: posts and reblogs that are positiive
#misc: posts that are surprisingly not related to hetalia
#me core: reblogs that I really relate to
#fanfic imagine: imagining a fanfiction and maybe i'll write or finish the idea
#fanfic in progress: my thoughts during the process of writing fanfiction, debating whether I should do this or that, talking about what I plan to do, blah blah
#my fanfic: fanfiction that I have written, usually a link to ao3 but may also be to ff.net
I also mostly tag hetalia characters as hws so if you look up hws canada (for example) you'll be able to see all posts about that character
Some of my favorite posts of mine ┈─★
Now more about me which is why you're reading this (I'm just kidding)
Call me angel or anything really I don't care what I'm called (ᐢ. ̫ .ᐢ)
Also please feel free to message me!! I love talking to people but I get a bit hestitant about initiating. My discord is billowingangel if you want to talk there!
I'm 20 years old and I go by she/her pronouns and I'm a lesbian I love me some boobs what can I say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I may be a raging homosexual but I'm also a raging hetaliansexual (joke), I am attracted to so many fictional male characters and shockingly a ton of them are from hetalia (shoot me dead)
I love hetalia if that isn't obvious, it's on my brain a probably disturbing amount what can I say I'm mentally ill. I also like other anime (demon slayer <333, jujutsu kaisen, the witch and the beast, parasyte, etc), doctor who (so happy there's a new season), yuri manga!!, and other shit. I love horrors and thrillers! I rarely watch romantic comedies but I love reading romance in fanfiction ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm working on my own book (probably my 20th book) but I'm hoping to actually finish this one.
I am also working on multiple fanfictions: red means it's completed
off the grid: canada slightly snaps and goes on vacation lol
???:idk what to call it, america, england, and france are all fighting for canada's love and he's oblivious
unhealthy obsession: another country becomes obsessed with canada
Falling for Canada: multiple rarepair oneshots with Canada
My first omegaverse 0.0
a really stupid horror drabble that I posted
amecan week 2024
And I believe that's it~ Maybe I'll add my favorite ships

Hey! Do you have any tips for alters trying to find out who they are. I'm about 99% sure I'm a new one, and I've been fronting for a day. But I cant find any information that clicks with me. It's just absolutely horrible and I need some help :[
Hi! So figuring yourself out is definitely a process that can be lifelong - we wouldn’t expect any alter or headmate to know much about themselves after just one day of fronting!
We’ll include some info that might help you get started learning more about yourself and who you are, starting with this Get to Know Me form created by an alter in our own system!
The info you include in the form doesn’t have to be set in stone - you can fill out as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, and all the information can be tentative and subject to change!
When it comes to interests, likes, and dislikes, we’d suggest just exploring everything with an open mind! Try a bunch of new foods! Listen to different styles of music! Branch out into different hobbies and expose yourself to different books, art, movies, and shows! If you don’t like something, that’s okay - you don’t have to enjoy everything you try! And if you do like something, you can incorporate that enjoyment into who you are.
As far as physical appearances go, we recommend the site picrew for toying with different looks and experimenting with how you look and present yourself. You don’t have to be a good artist to use picrew - all sorts of amazing artists have already done the work of building character and avatar creators, so you just have to find one with a style that you like and start playing around with it! The tag “#system picrew” on Tumblr is full of systems posting links to the picrews that they like, so you can start there for finding something specific.
Really, there’s no rush to push yourself to figure out who you are ASAP. It’s okay to just… exist! By not stressing about who you are and choosing to just exist as you are and take things day by day, you may find that information about yourself will spring up naturally. That’s always how it’s worked with us! The moment any member in our system starts overthinking or stressing too much about who they are, is when things become much more difficult for that alter and they start to struggle more and feel miserable. So taking things day by day and gradually trying new things may be the best way for you to figure yourself out!
We hope this helps, at least somewhat! Again, please take your time with this process - and we’re wishing you the very best with it!

heyyyyy sunny what is upppppp
SO! for the artist wrapped art game i would like the following: 3, 17 and 28/29
ps: i literally love your writing, idk how to describe it but you’re REALLY good at immediately setting the tone and getting me invested in a story, which is just SO COOL
also i couldnt find an artist variant of this but ima fill out a template i found soooooo i might tag you in that :)
✨
i am exhausted and i cannot wait for the weekend, so i am feeling pretty normal rn, how r u
3. what work are you the most proud of?
this one is super hard, because i wouldn't consider myself 'proud' of a lot of my work. im not happy with my writing a lot of the time, so i hardly ever go back and reread my own works and such, sometimes i don't even like looking at comments when they come through lmao, it's definitely something i need to work on. idk if we're only doing 2023 for this question, but if not, an all time pride of mine is brother in the river. something about it makes me really happy, i'm so proud of the interactions and raph's internal monologue. as for 2023, i love deaf words on unwilling ears, it's such a niche book and a tiny fandom but the emotion in that fic is so OUGH
17. your favourite character to write this year?
this is also super tricky as i've written soo many characters lol. i really enjoy characters with lots of depth - i like writing them from outsider perspectives to try and clue in what makes their brain tick. hobie from atsv is like this, as well as yelena from black widow, link, and jason todd!
28. favourite work i wrote this year?
its definitely not one i'd consider myself the most PROUD of, but it's very self indulgent and as a result one i really like double cross, which is the most funny/traumatic thing you'll ever read, depending if you know the beefleaf spoiler. i also really enjoyed writing kindergarten crush, even if i wouldn't consider it particularly good writing, it was sweet and happy and tbh i think the trigun fandom needed that
29. favourite passage i wrote this year?
i've written SO MANY words this year so trying to pick my favourite is so hard. i'm looking at my more recent stuff... from what i've sorted through it might have to be from the memory hurts (but does me no harm):
The fawn rises from himself on unsteady legs, as unsure as a newborn, and blinks at his surroundings. His glistening little nose twitches, but he does not need to breathe anymore. He stares at Qingxuan for a moment, black eyes incomprehensible. He Xuan moves a little towards him, where the animal can see the calamity, and his neck snaps forward at the motion. Most animals are wary of the calamities on an instinctual, base level. The unconscious knowledge that they are wrong to exist the way they do. The fawn doesn’t shrink back or run, though. He just stares. He recognises his kin, in the cold and the unbreathing and the painless.
idk something about it is so ahhh and i think i matched the visuals to the vibes that this fic is loosely based off, which is abstract (psychopomp) by hozier. i think it just captures the overall tone of the fic very well, in a way that i'm super happy with!
thank you so much for your questions, and if you read my responses thank you even more! do let me know if there is an artist wrapped floating about, as i will ask you every single question known to man as i want your art permanently burned into my retinas x

🎶 [Notes] Do you have any other WIP related things, like moodboards, character portraits, playlists or similar?
Yes! ( kind of long, so more info under the break)
IN GENERAL
I tend to write in Scrivener - which has this great notes section on the right hand side of where the body fo my text is kept. Lots of times when I go on "research rabbit holes" sometimes before I start writing or in the middle of writing (which is what happens more often 😂), I'll search out photos, music etc that make me think of the story or chapter. As I go I'll dump all these photos, links to inspirational items, etc there for easy access.
Scrivener also has a great sections specifically for places and character and template pages to fill out for locations/characters that I've used in the past. It makes it all easy to jot down/collect all that info in one place. I can copy and past pictures in there really easy - so its kind of like a mood board/inspiration board. And I don't have to go to a whole other document to look for the pictures etc if I need it - its all right there in easy reach
SPECIFIC WIP
For my Klaine fic - If I Can Make Your Heart My Home:
A fic which involves a cello player and a baker, I've got a playlist on youtube comprised of mood music for chapters and actual music included in the fic:
Also because this fic involves A LOT of food, I started a recipe wrap up for readers that I try to update every 3 chapters or so which includes quotes where I mention items, and then the recipies for them:
I LOVE moodboards on fics. I'm paired up with a lovely and talented fanartist (@datshitrandom ) for the fic who did this gorgeous moodboard for a chapter where the characters met up in Central Park in the Fall.
She also made the beautiful cover art for the fic which inspired the story in addition to a CD cover for my cello player and is creating a cookbook inspired by the fic - which I'm excited to see when its finished! 💖💖
For my Klaine fic, Sanctuary :
(which is a fantasy!AU involving a medieval prince and an elf) I have this lovely artwork by @datshitrandom that serves as the inspiration for the characters. The art came first, along with the prompt by @justgleekout. The story is currently on hold till I finished the monster of the previous fic I mentioned above 😂.
And I have 2 RWRB fics brewing at the moment.
Notes, research, chapters outlined . . but very little written so far for them (not enough to post at the moment) . . but both are inspired by fan artwork.
Shaken, Not Stirred - inspired by this sketch by @noodles-and-tea
Curently Unnamed RWRB historical fic - inspired by these portraits by @stormtrooperjeff17004
Thanks @kiwiana-writes 💖💖

Dear Artists - Notes & Tips from a Would-Be Commissioner.
It feels like there has been a mini revival of Art Tumblr after Twitter burned itself down, which is amazing, but I've been skulking around looking for folks to commission lately, and I see some of the same gripes recurring a lot. I've posted this before as a reply to something before, but I think it might be worth its own post.
Here are some tips to help you as an artist help your clients to meet you half way!
So you want to take Commissions on Tumblr!
- Awesome! ... does your profile actually indicate that though? Does it clearly tell me at first glance that a) you're an artist and b) you're open to commissions right now? That might seem like a goofy question, but you would be absolutely amazed how many artists on here do not have any trace of that. (Several artists I've seen just today don't!)
- Is your askbox open for quick "Would you do..." enquiries? Have you checked it lately? Is there some way I can make a quick enquiry with you - and this is important- without leaving Tumblr? That extra layer of clicks makes a big difference.
- If your slate's full for now, do you have a wait list? Can I tell? How does somebody get on it? Can I find that info easily?
- Is there a standard package of info requirements and material you want from a client to consider/work with them? Even a template? Your client may be in a different timezone or work schedule to you, so teasing this stuff out one message at a time can take foreeevvverr - try to make it clear in advance what you need to know so everything is said/asked in as few chess moves as possible.
- This will be a theme.
- Please, please don't take it for granted that people will just 💫DM you for info💫 about anything you already know they'll have to ask - that info should be just about impossible for them to miss. By the time they're DM'ing you, they should pretty much just be clarifying something they've read or pitching the particulars of this specific transaction. Everything they have to ask is one more little obstacle to contacting you at all.
- Do you have lots of diverse and easily found examples of your work? Have you tagged your work consistently and properly? Have you told me what what that tag is? Have you distinguished between Commissions and Personal/commercial stuff? Your style is probably great, but I need to know if it's my vibe! Again, several artists I've seen today have not done this. I have no idea what kind of work you've done, and I can't find it even if I look!
- Have you made it clear what you're capable or interested in working in, subject wise? For example, I tend to look for artists I know can pull off f/f tv/movie fandom ship stuff, and female bodies and musculature, in relatively realistic proportions. Maybe you can do that! But if I can't see any indications of it, and all the stuff I find is m/m or OCs or D&D, I won't assume it, and I probably won't cold call to find out.
- If you do LGBTQ+, furry, fetish, mecha etc art - anything at all that anyone else might not do, for any reason - make sure to say so. Again, folks won't take it for granted, so try not to make it so they have to ask. Mostly, they won't.
- Also, make it clear if you work in zestier flavors or not, and indeed what specific kinds of zesty you will and won't do. (And on a personal level, if you do, try not to draw those boobs so high, Tumblr)
- Speaking of, if somebody approaches you with stuff you can't or won't do just out of preference, is there someone else you can steer them to? The favor might just come right back around.
- Let's talk money, baby. Where can I find your ballpark prices? Is it obvious? I don't need to know to the penny, but I do need to know if my budget and your pricing are at least in the same orbit. At least tell me how many digits to expect. Just saying "It depends!" is a psychological brick wall for a would-be client; I promise you that "contact me to discuss pricing" without any indications of floor or ceiling will cost you work.
- Also I strongly suggest a two-chunk payment structure, with some upfront and some on completion. I personally prefer to pay the whole lot upfront where possible, but at least for your first commission with someone, getting part upfront is safest for you, and "the rest on completion" is reassuring for them.
- Consider different tiers if you haven't already. A 60 buck quickie sketch is 60 bucks you didn't have yesterday, and they're not a huge commitment. You can potentially do a bunch of them in the time you're waiting for The Big One to come along, and if you agree to post it publicly, it's essentially an ad for you. And maybe I'll like it so much I'll ask you to go further with it, and stump up for a more developed version? (Though if that's an option, it should be clear to me too.)
- I strongly recommend having a look around at the all-in-one commission info sheets some folks put together, with pricing, payment, wills and won'ts, and FAQs and making one of your own, and then - and this is important - pinning it, or linking to it in your profile. It should smack folks in the face, they won't seek it out, and it should be like a used car ad - every fact or figure you can anticipate them wanting to know should be plain to see.
- And keep it, and your Tumblr, active and up to date. If your commission info sheet and your Tumblr hasn't been touched since 2012, I'll assume you're in space or dead. I will not check your Twitter or Patreon for signs of life.
- Reblog other artists, and actively engage and tag in fandoms/tags you have worked in and want to work in. Branch out into new subjects/fandoms/tags now and then just to experiment and broaden your footprint. Tumblr is a bunch of circles glued together, that's how you get out there. (Speaking for myself, I tend to find new artists through previous artists more often than via tags or Recommended feeds.)
- There is absolutely nothing wrong with reaching out to a high profile blog in a given fandom or genre sphere and asking for a shout out. They'll likely be more than happy to do it.
- Reblog yourself plenty, for the day and night crowd, weekends and weekdays etc. Gas yourself up a little, nobody minds. Add a few new comments about your process or something now and then, it's interesting. Try not to talk shit about your art, even just in jest - it's not good for you, and it's kind of a bummer to onlookers. If something wasn't perfect, think and talk about what you learned from it.
- And don't go doxxing yourself or anything, but maybe give some idea of when and how you work on your art - it's probably not a great idea to commit to an ironclad timescale, but if your posts give a sense of how and when you fit the work into your life, people can have some sense of what to expect and be a little more understanding than they might be otherwise.
- Blaze it. If you're sure you can tune out the whiney clowns, Blaze it. Yes, you'll absolutely get whinging edgelord nitwits in the comments, but you will also get seen by potentially interested folks who would never have stumbled over you otherwise, and they'll stick around when the other dummies are gone.
So you've been Commissioned!
- Keep in touch! Generally speaking, just staying in touch to say "Hey, this is still in the pipeline" now and then is plenty. Don't weird yourself out about it, don't psyche yourself out of getting in contact if it's been a while. Just message. It's cool! I don't mind waiting for the art itself, at all, but long periods of ghostly radio silence are disheartening. If you're art-blocked up the wazoo, it's nbd to say so. If you're taking a break to work on some personal stuff or casual no-pressure sketches, say so! Literally any contact at all is better than no contact. If nothing else, all you have to say is "Hey, just checking in. I have been making progress on your piece/I plan to get some work done on your piece today/this week/this month. Hope all is well!". Bam, done.
- Some would-be commissioner types like to have their shiny completed art piece revealed all in one go and kept all to themselves. Some (me) love to see WIP updates that they can reblog from you, so they have an extra chance to roll around in their fandoms and tags a little. On the other hand, some artists don't like showing their WIP stuff publically though. All of that's fine - but regardless, make sure you're both on the same page about it, and what format and what channel they'll get their piece in, from Day 1.
- Let the client know if you'd be up for working with them again afterwards, or if you'd like x and y conditions if they want to work with you again, or if you're all done and you never want to see these damn characters or this bloody setting again. As a client, you can feel a bit weird about hitting the same talented creative up five times in a row for the same two blorbos in a situation, so it's a good idea to intercept that if it's not an issue for you.
Remember - commissioning something has the potential to feel a little like a weird awkward Tinder convo for money. As an artist... well, you're already an artist, but it’s in your interest as somebody who eats and uses electricity to make it obvious that working with you will be easy and hassle free for all involved. What can you do to ensure that, and signal it? Make yourself approachable and easy to deal with, and do yourself justice.
All the love to Art Tumblr. I'll come knocking on some of your doors again next time I have spare cash and a hankering for some more angsty Dani and Grace McTerminatorDarkFate stuff.

Ladies & Germs!
I'm Pyxis, or you can call me Jonas! (they/him, please!) I'm 18 years old and my favorite color is green! I have been writing & roleplaying for 7 years, going on 8! I am new to tumblr for use as a roleplay media, but not new to tumblr itself! (the sims cc blog degenerate moment..) I am semi-lit to novella. I write about 250-700 words per response, typically mirroring what your last response was! I always try to give you the same amount you give me, or if we're on the same page, constantly trying to one up each other! I love striving for growth as a writer, so I adore it when my partners are also looking for a challenge. My favorite genres are: medieval dark fantasy, modern (with some kind of sub-genre), angst, drama, action, and in general fantasy itself. i also dabble very lightly in sci-fi or apocalyptic genres if they are something i am interested in! The only roleplays im heavily against or have no interest in are: roleplay with minors (i do not feel comfortable writing with characters/users under my own age.) superhero rps, im sorry :( they are just not my cup of tea! non-con, kidnapping, any rps that result in heavily implied no-consent with one or more characters. I do not do fandom roleplays unless I play an oc. I can think of any fandoms I'd roleplay at the moment, but if I ever get the craving for them I'll tag it appropriately. I am a discord only roleplayer. I also host & create my own servers! I've been in server creation & staffing on discord for three years. I will write about aus, storylines, and my ocs here as well as roleplay requests/posts between! Once I have enough going on I'll organize posts by storyline/au so that they are easier to digest. I also do custom templates for google docs or discord servers! We can do a trade (art for template, etc!) or you can just commission me through cashapp. You'll be able to see references of my work as I become more active on tumblr! I might make a comms post in the future once I can expand to art comms as well.

hi there, I’m new to tumblr, got any tips?
Sure!! I guess I can try dropping some helpful tips :p
From the side of tumblr I’m on, most people use their blogs to post art, written media, and share personal information and opinions / facts. These are some great ways to get your blog up and starting or if you already have something you’re interested in sharing to the world as well that’s fine!!
Tumblr is pretty easy to use. It reminds me of like a Facebook - twitter love child but EASIER and since I use both those platforms as well it’s pretty easy to work your way through the app.
The best formatting would probably the use of visual media rather than anything else. A lot of people come on this app looking for templates or gifs, dividers/banners, etc etc.
I’d also say try sticking to the right tags, avoid all the fake bots in your dms, and DELETE all the spam bots that try to follow you. They ain’t good for your engagement!! And I think that’s about it :))

So I found a meme template for 'About You: Video Games' which I wanted to do except a) we all know I am incapable of Not Talking, b) the boxes were tall and skinny and that is Not Ideal for shoving game titles into because they generally need width to be legible, and c) what the fuck do you MEAN I can ONLY PICK ONE so I'm converting it into text form. Also I'm rearranging the order because all time fave should not be first that's what you wrap up with c'mon.
I am also hoping other people will steal this formatting and tag me so I can go 'ooh that sounds neat!' about other people's games lists.
[cut because this will probably go long]
1. Childhood Game
Cannot pick.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time still holds a soft and nostalgic spot in my heart. Music! Horseback riding! Puzzles! I was terrible at it and did not beat it but I LOVED it.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, which I also did not beat but which also nonetheless did SOMETHING to my id which persists to this very day, because it is fascinatingly batshit.
The Longest Journey has also left imprints on my id; I think it was the first adventure game I managed to beat, maybe the first game I managed to beat at all.I’d tried some of the King’s Quest games but I kept getting myself stuck in unwinnable situations and/or dying which obviously was not that fun. But TLJ wanted you to see the story; as far as I know, it’s impossible to get yourself into an unwinnable worldstate, so outside the sections where you’re beating your head against a puzzle it’s just wonderful.
2. Best Soundtrack
I already mentioned Ocarina but honestly a lot of the games I grew up with had excellent music, perhaps because the system limitations (midi instruments on a shitty tube television) meant the songs really had to be able to stand on their own. Other stand-outs for me include Legend of Mana and Final Fantasy VI, each of which has more than one song I remembered well enough to hunt down the soundtracks more than a decade after I played them. Also obviously there's things like Bastion now, which has amazing music, and Dragon Age: Inquisition has tracks that (between the music itself and the associations) give me Very Large Feelings.
3. Best Art Style
I have to at least mention Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning here. I still can’t believe a game that is this lovely while playing got such unutterably boring box art. Who did that to you, KoA:R, you deserved so much better. It's got the punchy, amped-up kind of color palette you see in World of Warcraft (which I love; gritty realism and unrelenting brown are boring) but with higher-quality textures and better models than an MMO that needs to be able to run on a potato can handle, and honestly the whole thing is just Nice To Look At.
Also mentioning Legend of Mana again because the art was cute as fuck. A lot of the older pixel stuff had so much charm!
Throwing Winter Voices in, too, because while the game itself is an incomprehensible clusterfuck like 40% of the time, the other 60% it is quite lovely. It remains the only game where the SKILL TREE made me go, 'oh gosh that's so PRETTY.'
4. Relaxing Game
Flow is a good one. Also Stardew Valley. And Spiritfarer. Roots of Pacha.
5. Stressful Game
When I saw this one on the list I was like 'but I hate being stressed' and that is true but also:
Long Live the Queen is HORRIBLY stressful but also kind of neat?
And bits of Scarlet Hollow have stressed me out but I am VERY MUCH having a good time with that. Delightful horror-themed roller coaster of a game; it wants me to be having a good time even when I’m going AAAAAH! and trying to make impossible choices.
6. Tons of Hours Played
Rimworld. We’re not looking at my time played on this.
Also every MMO I have ever played but especially WoW (which I am emotionally invested in still, WHY) and SWtoR (because if you let me decorate a house I will spend SO MANY HOURS decorating a house).
Also Crusader Kings, which is basically a Telenovella Creator if you’re successfully avoiding combat and is therefore delightful - I usually manage at least two generations of absolute nonsense before someone murders me horribly or I lose against the rebellion my aunt has raised because oops there are too many branches of the family tree and some of them are overly successful and have turned into kudzu and are now here to strangle me to death.
Also The Sims, over the course of all of these games the hours played are definitely horrifying. The hours just on 4 are um. Bad.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has over 100 hours already. Oops.
Dragon Age gets this also although that’s also why I haven’t replayed Inquisition; too much of it is spent schlepping across the Hinterlands a g a i n.
7. Favorite Protagonist
For more defined characters: The MC in Gilded Shadows. So relatable. So snarky. Love her.
For less defined, I ADORE the Dark Urge route in BG3 - set enough to feel really connected to the world, but still so much freedom for the player to go nuts. Also the things that are set are UNHINGED, it’s fantastic.
8. Favorite Villain
[nervous villainfucker laughter]
Solas probably counts as an antagonist. Manerkol from The Soulstone War. Sarevok specifically in BG2:ToB when you could Found Family/Power of Friendship him into being less of a dick yes this was partly because I thought he was Very Hot shut up it’s not my fault his VA was Like That.
TBH if I find the villain compelling I probably also want to kiss him it is a recurring problem.
9. Favorite Ending
To The Moon made me cry, but like, in a good way.
The ending of Fire Emblem: Awakening was pretty darn satisfying imo.
I liked Tresspasser very much but I’m still a little irked that DAI was like ‘the real ending is DLC.’
10. Favorite Boss Fight
The final conversation in Trespasser. No, shoosh, it counts and I DESPERATELY want to see more climactic conflicts in games that aren't solved with violence. I loved Planescape: Torment and Fallout: New Vegas for letting me circumvent combat with other skills but Trespasser is the only instance I can think of off the top of my head where you just... Do Not Fight the Final Boss. The POINT is that you don’t fight. I love that.
11. Game You Always Come Back To
I have replayed Choice of Romance SO MANY TIMES and 95% of the time it is with the same MC. Ana is now a comfort character.
7KPP, partly for the fandom, which is full of friends <3
12. Guilty Pleasure
This would require me to feel guilty about my games and I generally don’t? I mean, I have admitted to playing the homophobic horse game to people I work with.
That said the homophobic horse game probably counts because I’m constantly like ‘why are you like this’ about the company as a whole and most of the people who work there and also a significant chunk of the player base.
Maybe World of Warcraft also. ActiBlizz as a company is more than a little bit Yikes.
13. All Time Favorite
I think I’m giving this to RimWorld. The base game was solid and fun and I played a zillion hours. The updates have been good. The dev actually listens to the player base about what’s wanted and then builds it into the game. Modding is allowed and adds some awesome stuff too. The expansions are great and add a ton to the game. It creates very compelling little stories. There are a bunch of youtubers with amazing playthroughs. I found a perfect map seed.
Like, my ALL TIME favorite game is the one in my head, that’s like 30% Breath of the Wild, 30% UnReal World, 20% RimWorld, 20% the homophobic horse game, but unfortunately that does not actually exist. Maybe if I win the lottery.
#babble tea (blacklist this for less chatter)#this has sat in my drafts for Literal Years so I'm posting it now so that it gets out of here#like literally the post next to it is from 2021#I have added to it over time but also it's a novel now#oops

Guidelines
Mun: Ivy, 26, she/her
GODMODDING, METAGAMING, ETC: Standard rules apply. Don’t do it, please.
SEMI-SELECTIVE: I’m open to rping with pretty much anyone, but I’m more likely to reply to mutuals. My askbox is open to everyone, regardless of mutuals status, and is a great way to get my attention if I’m not following you yet.
ACTIVITY: Sometimes I’m really fast with replies, other times I’m nowhere to be seen for weeks/months at a time. It just depends on my mood and current hyperfixation. Sorry.
SHIPPING & NSFW: I love shipping! I’m just not comfortable roleplaying sex, so I’ll end up fading-to-black on any IC interactions that head in that direction. OOC discussion of sex may happen, however, so I ask that any shipping partners be 18+. Anything of that nature will be tagged “nsfw tw” and possibly put under a read-more.
LENGTH & STYLE: Your fancy formatting or lack thereof doesn’t matter to me, but I’ll try to match whatever you’re doing on that front. As for thread lengths: one-liners, paragraphs, novella-length, anything goes. Do be aware, though, I have a tendency to accidentally double the length of any thread I write. Please do not feel obligated to match my length when I do that.
PLOTTING: I like to get at least an idea of how our characters might interact to begin with, but I’m also open to just winging it. My favorite place to plot is on discord, and I can give out my handle to any mutuals who want it.
TRIGGERS: I personally don’t have any, but I try to tag the common triggers as “____ tw”. If you have anything specific you need tagging, just message me, on anon if you need to, and I’ll make sure to tag it. If I forget to tag something, first, I’m so sorry, and second, just shoot me a message and I’ll fix it.
CREDITS: The Dragon Age Keep-style art for my characters was done by Lydia-Isaac. The World State and personality graphics on my Characters page are from templates by Marian Churchland.
Thanks for reading all this. I look forward to roleplaying with you!

How to Keep Doing Descriptions (from someone who does a fuckton)
Plain text: How to Keep Doing Descriptions (from someone who does a fuckton)
This is a list aimed mostly at helping people who already write IDs; for guides at learning how to do them yourself, check my accessibility and image description tags! I write this with close to two years of experience with IDs and chronic pain :)
Get used to writing some IDs by using both your phone and your computer, if you can! I find it easier to type long-form on my laptop, so I set up videos and long comics on my phone, which I then prop up against my laptop screen so I can easily reference the post without constantly scrolling or turning my head
I will never stop plugging onlineocr.net. I use it to ID everything from six-word tags to screenshots of long posts to even comic dialogue! On that last note, convertcase.net can convert text between all-caps, lowercase, sentence case, and title case, which is super helpful
Limit the number of drafts/posts-to-be-described you save. No, seriously. I never go above 10 undescribed drafts on any of my four blogs. It doesn’t have to be that low, but this has done wonders (italics: wonders) for my productivity and willingness to write IDs. If I ever get above that limit, even if it’s two or three more, I immediately either describe the lowest-effort post or purge some, and if I can't do that then I stop saving things to drafts no matter what. No exceptions! Sticking to this will make your life so much easier and less stressful
My pinned post has a link to a community doc of meme description templates!
Ask! For! Help! Please welcome to the stage the People’s Accessibility Server! It’s full of lovely people and organized into channels where you can request/volunteer descriptions and ask/answer questions
I make great use of voice-to-text and glide typing on my phone to save my hands some effort!
Something is always better than nothing!!! A short two-sentence or one-sentence ID is better than no ID at all. Take it easy :)
If you feel guilty about being unable to reblog amazing but undescribed art, try getting into the habit of replying to OP’s post to let them know you liked it! This makes me feel less pressured to ID absolutely everything I see
This is a sillier one, but I tag posts I describe as "described" and "described by me." When saving to drafts, I never preemptively tag with "described by me," since for some reason that always makes me feel extra pressure and extra stress. Consider doing something similar for yourself if that applies!
I frequently find myself looking at pieces of art which feel like they need to be considered for a bit before I can write an ID for them, and those usually get thrown into drafts, where the dread for writing a comprehensive ID just builds. Don’t do that! Instead, try just staying in the reblog field for a bit and focus on the most relevant aspects of the piece. Marinate on them for a little; don’t rush, but don’t spend more than a handful of seconds either. I find after that the art becomes way easier to describe than it initially seemed!
On that note, look for shortcuts that make IDs less taxing for you to do! For example, I only ever describe clothes in art if they're relevant to the piece; not doing that every time saves a lot of time and energy for me personally
Building off of that, consider excusing yourself from a particular kind of ID if you want to. Give yourself a free pass for 4chan posts, or fanart by an artist who does really good but really complex comics, whatever. Let it be someone else's responsibility and feel twice as proud about the work that you can now allot more energy to!
As always, make an effort to find and follow fellow describers! It’s always encouraging to get described posts on your dash, and I find that sometimes I'm happier to ID an undescribed post when the person who put it on my dash is a friend who tagged it with "no ID"
TL;DR: To make ID-writing less stressful and more low-effort, use different devices and software like onlineocr.net and voice-to-text, limit the amount of work you expect yourself to do, and reach out to artists and other describers!
#i have no idea if there's a real audience for this post but this is a genuine list of things i do to help myself out#i hope it can help someone else out too <3#accessibility#image descriptions#my posts#kay talks#long post#this has been in my drafts for so long i'm exiling it because i can't stand wondering if it's coherent any longer

Meet the Artist: Kiki
Hi, I’m Kiki! I’m 24, live in the US, and have been using a tablet for about 7 years now. Since I’m self-taught, I’m always trying to learn new things to continue developing my style. My biggest inspirations are nature and animals. They’re all shaped so differently, and I love exaggerating their forms! I also am into video game design and character concept art. If you’re interested in commissioning me for anything, please feel free to message me!
So lovely to meet you, Kiki! We asked her to pick out a couple of artworks to share with you all here.

Week 1: Build Your Beast
Salutations, stooges. It is time to build your beast. Will it be feathered? Furry? Flame-scaled? Will you be re-purposing an OC you already have or creating a completely new character? Will your beast be big and brash or soft-spoken and nimble-footed? Here’s your template. Download it, draw or describe (or crochet or paint or mold or embroider or immortalize in shanty form) your character. In short, unleash your wildest whims upon it. We look forward to meeting your horrid creation.
Upload your completed template using the tag #build a beast to share your grizzly creation with the world (a reminder to use your reblog controls if you’d like your beast to remain hidden in the wilds).
Loathsomely yours, us.

Meet the Artist: @velinxi
Hello! I’m Xiao Tong Kong, better known as “Velinxi.” I’m the creator of the webcomic Countdown to Countdown and have been doing freelance artwork since I was a teenager. I love telling stories with my illustrations! Tumblr was where I first got my start as an artist, specifically a small fandom artist as a hobby… and now I’m somehow here! When I’m not trying my best to stay awake in front of my tablets, I’m usually cooking, gaming, or sleeping. Sometimes all three, in my dreams.
Pleased to meet you, Velinxi! We’ve asked her to share some of her artwork for you to appreciate below.

Meet the Artist: @simzart
Hello, I’m SimzArt, an artist from Italy. I like to work on personal projects and currently I’m developing a new comic based on modern witches (hopefully it’s going to be readable soon). I also stream and make videos about art and art products. I’m really happy with my job. My dream is to keep growing and learning new things and get in touch with as many people as possible and hopefully inspire them with my creations. I love art, and I’m happy to meet you all!
Very nice to meet you, SimzArt! We’ve asked him to share some of his work for us to highlight here.

Meet the Artist: @peevishpants
Hallo! Weiwei here. I’m currently a full-time illustrator in tech by day and a part-time drawer for publishing and animation by night. You may remember me from such posts as my Zelda university AU, outfitober designs, the occasional comic about fish or Chinese diaspora identity, and [redacted]. Thank you for the love, and thank you Tumblr for giving my blog back and asking me to do a meet the #artist! Consider my socks rocked!
Great to meet you, Weiwei! Here are some illustrations that she has handpicked for us to feature here.

can we submit graphics (like textless blinkies that we’ve made) to possibly be added to blinkies.cafe?
unfortunately i'm not currently taking submissions to blinkies.cafe,,,, but i want to change that and tbh i've been thinking about it from the start!! i have a WIP or two lying around (details under cut) to try to take a crack at it.
thank you so so much for your interest tho!!!!! i would love to see your templates!!! if you post them in the #blinkies tag (& maybe #blinkie templates) i bet people could get a lot of use out of them ^^
and when i iron out some wrinkles (details under cut) i'd love to add more submissions to blinkies.cafe <3
yeah so i've been thinking about this since the earliest days of blinkies.cafe. currently i have some obstacles.
manual work
at the moment, i personally have to add every new template to the generator. there's a bunch of manual work involved: choosing font, font colour, default text, text positioning, etc. it takes a bunch of trial and error to see what looks good.
when an artist submits a blinkie template, i want to make sure they're happy with the result. so it's a back-and-forth collaborative process. it takes a bit of technical knowledge on the part of the artist as well, to know what sorts of things i can & can't do.
i should streamline this process.
in the meantime, i'm already at capacity with adding templates >< i love doing it - it's like "comfort work" for me - but i also have a full-time job and chronic fatigue and chores and adhd, and a lot of the time i just don't have much time and/or energy to spare.
credits & licensing
if i'm gonna start accepting submissions from a bunch of different people, i need to draft like a "terms & conditions" statement for submitting.
basically to say, "by submitting your template, you agree to let me use it for X & release it under Y license. people will be able to make your blinkie say things, and i'm not responsible for what they say. here's how you'll be credited" kinda thing.
but idk much about art licensing and i know even less about writing legal text
also, different artists might have different opinions on how they want to be credited. the easiest thing for me to do would be to have the artist link pop up after you generate a blinkie and add it in the archive of sources. i'd say that in the terms & conditions, but ppl might want to be credited in a different way, and i can't have like a custom crediting method for each submission.
possible solution
one of my thousands of wips (thanks adhd) is a blinkie generator that runs entirely in the browser. if i can get around to polishing it up, i'll put it on blinkies.cafe, and you could embed it in your Neocities or even your tumblr theme.
basically you'd upload your template somewhere (tumblr, imgur, deviantart, whatever) as PNG frames, then you'd paste their URLs, select a font, type your text, and generate a blinkie!
it'd also give you a URL for your own personal blinkie maker, so you could post a link and other people could use it too ^^
this would be a lot easier for me to maintain because i wouldn't have to moderate or manually add templates at all!!
it'd also make it possible for anyone to run their own personal blinkie maker with their own templates, and host it on Tumblr or Neocities or anywhere else that lets you embed scripts :3
downsides to this are that A) browser-based gif generation might not work on all browsers or on older hardware, and B) personal templates wouldn't get the visibility of being on the main blinkies.cafe gallery.
lmk if that sounds interesting to u
