I Loved You, Mr. Scamander; Chapter 1: Wish I Were...
━━━━━━•✦.✧.☾.✧.✦•━━━━━
From their first year at Hogwarts, Newt and (Y/N) were always friends. During a Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw joint class for Potions, Newt had a little trouble getting some ingredients from a shelf that was out of his reach. Until a Ravenclaw girl from his year helped. From that day on, he realized that they shared more classes than he thought. They were inseparable. Back then, she’d tease him because of his height. Now, she couldn’t joke about it. He towered over her and they were only in their third year of Hogwarts.
What she didn’t expect was to fall in love with him. Cliché, right? She loved his personality- a gentle soul whose loyalty matched no other. She loved the way he’d care for magical creatures. He didn’t trap them or used them for personal gain. No- that wasn’t Newt. He kept magical creatures to study them. So he could prove to the world that they weren’t as dangerous as the books made them.
She fell in love with his smile. A smile that always followed his laugh. The way the corners of his eyes would crinkle when he was in pure happiness. She fell in love with the color of his eyes. They were a mix of blue and green- not one or the other, but somehow merging to form into its own.
(Y/N) and Newt were walking down the halls from Professor Dumbledore’s class, heading over to the library. She hadn’t noticed the cold until a breeze passed through the empty hall. “Ah shoot. I forgot my robes in his class,” (Y/N) mumbled, rubbing her upper arms.
Her mind soon became focused on one thing, staying warm. The walk to the library was starting to feel like a long journey. ‘Hot chocolate, being home, sunshine, summer, warm hugs from Newt-’ She repeated the mantra in her head. Wait- warm hugs from Newt?
The feeling of a warm cloth placed over her shoulders broke her from her trance. (Y/N) looked at the source of her newfound warmth- Newt’s robes. She looked up at her Hufflepuff friend, “Newt! But you’ll get cold!”
Newt let out a soft chuckle. “You know, for a Ravenclaw, you’re quite forgetful.”
(Y/N) blushed, “D-Don’t you start, Newton!” She stuttered. There were only two instances where she would use his full first name. Whenever the situation was serious or to tease him. This moment was the latter of the two.
“Besides, it looks better on you than it did me.” He said, giving her a charming smile.
Oh, how she loved his smile. She felt her chest swell up with adoration. ‘Only if you knew how much I liked you…’ She thought as she hugged his Hufflepuff robes closer to her body.
~*~*~
The duo met up with another one of their friends, Victoria. She was already in their designated meeting spot. Her nose stuck in her Potions book when (Y/N) and Newt reached the library.
When they reached the table, Victoria set down her book and looked up at them. “Five minutes late, my dear birdies.”
(Y/N) sighed, “Vi, it’s only five minutes.”
Victoria leaned back on her seat, relaxing a bit. “Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable.” She said matter-a-factly.
“Sorry about that, Vi. We got caught up in Dumbledore’s class.” Newt apologised.
She hummed in response. "That’s okay, Newton. Let’s get started on these assignments so we can all leave this place.” Victoria cooed softly.
“Oh, so, Newt gets your soft mom voice and I get your lecture mom voice?” (Y/N) ranted as she sat down.
Newt chuckled at their banter before walking off to find the book he needed for his essay.
Victoria had waited for Newt to be out of earshot before she leaned forward, her chin resting on her hands. “Last time I checked, you were a Ravenclaw this morning.” She whispered.
(Y/N) looked up at Victoria in confusion as she opened Victoria’s Potions textbook. “What are you talking about?”
Victoria’s eyes landed on the Hufflepuff crest on the robe (Y/N) was wearing before looking back at her friend.
She blushed, “O-Oh! I was just cold… That’s all…”
Victoria rolled her eyes, “I was just cold! That’s all..” She mimicked teasingly. “But seriously… Are you ever going to tell him?”
(Y/N) shook her head, “No, I don’t think I will…”
Victoria gave her a look as if to say “Really?”
“I mean, I won’t tell him now. I’ll tell him when I’m ready and when we’re a bit older.” (Y/N) confessed.
Newt finally came back with a Herbology book and set it down. “Tell who what when we’re older?”
“Oh, nothing! Just talking about potential career choices. That’s all!” Victoria said, before (Y/N) could say anything.
He nodded, “Well… I guess it’s never too early to decide what you want to do.”
(Y/N) looked at Victoria, mouthing “Thank you”.
~*~*~
December passed and the next semester had started. As they left Potions, Victoria and (Y/N) were discussing the day’s lesson, but Newt’s attention was elsewhere.
His attention was on a certain Slytherin student.
“Newt? Hello, Newt? Earth to Newton?” Victoria said, trying to get the Hufflepuff’s attention.
(Y/N) looked at her other friend, following his gaze to see him staring at Leta Lestrange. He was staring at Leta, as she passed by, in the same way he stared at his creatures, with love and adoration.
“Victoria, drop it.” (Y/N) said coldly.
Victoria looked at her friend. From the moment they became close friends, (Y/N) refused to call her Victoria. So she knew something was up. “O-Okay…”
As the weeks passed by, all Newt's affections had stopped. He stopped waiting for (Y/N) after breakfast so they could walk to class together. He stopped staying late at Dumbledore's class with her. He stopped giving her his robes. After it happened the first time, she made an effort to never forget her robes again. He stopped asking her to help him with his creatures. Their close friendship, lost because he started hanging out with Leta.
“Why would he ever kiss me? I’m not even half as pretty…” (Y/N) sobbed into Victoria’s shoulder as they sat by the lake.
Victoria wrapped her arm around (Y/N)’s shoulder and sighed, “One day… Something will happen. He’ll realize his feelings, but it’ll be too late…”
“I wish I were Leta… Then maybe he’d love me…”
One day, while walking to the library, she saw it. Newt placed his robes over her shoulder. She saw the shy smile Leta gave him. She saw the smile Newt gave that followed his laugh. That’s when she realized that they were in love with each other.
She briskly made her way to the library, looking for Victoria, tears already falling down her cheeks.
When (Y/N) came to their meeting spot, Victoria stood, “Hey, what’s-”
(Y/N) ran straight into her arms, interrupting her. Victoria looked down at her. Never had she seen her best friend so heartbroken. All she could do was hug her and comfort her the best way she could.
After the small crying session, Victoria held (Y/N) by the shoulders. “Okay (Y/N), here’s what we're going to do. I’m going to let you cry about him for a week. Avoid him, punch a wall, scream in anger and pain. Do whatever it takes to get your emotions out. Then after a week, you’ll get up and stop thinking about him.”
(Y/N) sniffled, wiping some of the snot on her sleeve. “Y-You’re acting as if Newt and I broke up.”
“Well, you’re crying like it,” Victoria said, patting (Y/N)’s shoulders. “Come on, we have a whole future to worry about guys. Right now, we’re going to do whatever it takes to get us training to be Aurors after we graduate.” She said, smiling at her friend.
“Yeah, we’ll take names and kick ass.” (Y/N) joked.
Victoria winked at her, “That’s my girl. And like I always say, birds of a feather-”
“Flock together.” They said in unison.
~*~*~
And (Y/N) did that. She cried. She wrote angry letters, sad letters, love letters to Newt then ripped them to shreds. She’d punched a pillar once and broke her left hand- yikes, that was not a pretty sight. Victoria had done everything she could to make (Y/N) feel better.
After a week, Victoria came into (Y/N)’s dorm and woke her up. From then on, those two worked hard and smart. They took opportunities whenever they could.
Fifth year came along and the Headmaster had a hard time choosing between the two to be the Ravenclaw prefect of their year. (Y/N) declined the offer, letting Victoria take the prefect position. Although confused, Victoria proudly took the title and accepted the responsibilities.
Fifth year was the year Newt and (Y/N) reconciled. They apologized for leaving each other. They apologized for all the miscommunication. It didn’t take long for them to become friends again. His affections returned, but not to the extent to what it was in their third year.
He waited to walk to classes with her before parting ways. He had “Care of Magical Creatures” while she and Victoria headed off to “Defense Against the Dark Arts”. He tried his best to balance his time between Leta and (Y/N). Though in the end, he would always choose Leta.
When word got out that (Y/N) and Newt were hanging out with each other again, Victoria got concerned.
“Now, is this strictly platonic?”
“Of course it is! Newt’s just a fr-… He’s…” (Y/N) trailed off.
Victoria leaned her back against the bookshelf, crossing her arms over her chest. “You caught feelings again, didn’t you?”
(Y/N) could only nod in agreement.
It did take time for Victoria to trust him again. Who could blame her? He broke her best friend’s heart. Soon after that, she was back to being the “mom friend” of the group. (Y/N), Newt, and Leta- Victoria would do anything to protect her friends.
That was until Newt got expelled. In Sixth Year, one of Leta's experiments involving a Jarvey went too far, endangering the life of another student. Instead of seeing his best friend expelled, Newt took the blame for Leta’s actions. Victoria, (Y/N), and Leta were in the room where it happened. The Headmaster had dismissed the girls. (Y/N) and Leta left, but Victoria stayed to try and defend Newt’s innocence along with Professor Dumbledore.
As they walked farther from the Headmaster’s office, (Y/N) called out to Leta, trying to get her attention. She finally stopped Leta by gently holding onto her shoulder. “Leta,” She said in a serious tone.
Leta turned around, moving her shoulder to get (Y/N)’s hand off. “What is it now?”
“You’re going to ask that when you’re the reason Newt’s expelled? The audacity.”
“I didn’t ask him to do that!” Leta retorted.
(Y/N) scoffed, “He did it because he loved you, Leta! All you did was take and take from him and you loved it. You loved his attention and his loyalty and you just ate it up.”
“Don’t talk to me about loyalty. You and Victoria had no problem ditching him when I came around. You two quickly climbed the ranks in your house. Too bad you weren’t good enough to be prefect.”
(Y/N) stood there in silence. Leta was wrong. She could’ve been prefect. She chose not to take it. No hard feelings. (Y/N) thought that Victoria would be a better candidate. Her eyes teared up- not in sadness, but anger.
Leta saw this as an opportunity to add more fuel to the fire, “And don’t think I didn’t notice… You loved him too.”
Still she stood in silence.
"Well, someone's ought to remind you-"
"What?" (Y/N) snapped.
"You're nothing without Victoria behind you."
"How dare you-" (Y/N) started, pulling out her wand and aimed it at Leta.
“(Y/N).” Victoria’s voice called.
(Y/N) gasped.
“Mummy’s calling.” Leta teased before turning to walk away.

((H.A.R.U))
Taken from meme: [x] ||Accepting|| ((Oh Kiki, I see what you did, you beautiful bean))
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
[x] - Answered here ; As a bonus, i’ll answer A and R in regards to the Inuyasha fandom bc we’re both in it. He is coming into a friendly relation with Margaret (OC) which is great. IDK what he’d be with Elena, but realistically, I think it would maybe be a friendship of sorts? I think that covers that. I don’t have any ships that are official in threads. However, I do think our Kikyo and Sesshomaru would eventually get down to being a ship.
In fandom, I support Inuyasha/Kagome and Sango/Miroku as it’s canon. In regards to what I like, I do like Sesshomaru/Kagome and Sesshomaru/Kikyo (GET FUCKING REKTED INUYASHA! Don’t be mistaken, I love Inuyasha but I am biased). Sesshomaru and Kagura would be an interesting dynamic to explore more on. I think I’ve seen people state Sesshomaru already loved Kagura when she died and I just-- don’t feel the vibe tbh. I personally think he would’ve needed more time to come to terms with such an emotion. I think it was interest, respect, and familiarity at best at that time. Anyways, I think their dynamic would be very fun as a ship. I’ve seen Sesshomaru and Sango as well and i’m like LE KEK, SURE WHY NOT? Me casually making my muses a ship magnet in fandom? Yes. In RPC? LOL SHIP? Can I eat that?
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
Oof- Okay... uh... I’ll avoid the fandoms i muse for to try to make this more original.
Trash of the Count’s Family
Cale- I am biased, I love the main character, obviously. I just really like Cale. He has some sassy thoughts in his head and I LIVE for that. Additionally, I just find him to be fascinating as a character. I can’t really go into it because it goes into severe spoiler territory, but basically, the way he was integrated into the world he was isekai’ed into is so fascinating to me, especially when you realize there is more to this isekai than we, the readers, are initially led to believe. In regards to emotions, he’s more stagnant than I’m used to in a lot of characters I like, but I don’t hate it? Rather, it fits him well. He’s an ‘unlucky’ dude and I laugh at his misfortune. When you consider angst material—Ohhhh CHEF KISS.
Alberu- BIG BROTHER CROWN PRINCE ALBERU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love him so much. AHHHHHH He’s such a fun character to me. This sly Prince. He really does care a lot about Cale and it makes me cry. He takes his role as a Prince seriously and puts so much care into the common-folk and he doesn’t discriminate against those of the dark species (Necromancers, dark elves, vampires, etc) which is almost unheard of especially since the most prominent religions are those of the Light. He has a reason for it which I won’t spoil. AHHHH I love him. //sob
Raon Miru- BABY DRAGON!!!!!!! The cutest lil thing who I love to pieces. He was introduced as an abused baby and it hurts me to think about. He hates humans but he sticks around Cale because he’s the human that saved him from being tortured daily. He slowly becomes acclimated to being around humans and grows to trust some. He still hates humans but the ones he’s close to aren’t ‘humans’. They are ‘his people’. I cry. This all-mighty dragon is amazing and can do everything. Bow before his might. I love him. Fite me.
-
Legend of the Sun Knight
(Lesus) Judgement Knight- Okay, he’s not the main character, but--!!! He’s great. Even though he’s supposed to be at odds with the Sun Knight as they embody different philosophies, they are actually the best of friends in secret. He deals with a lot of Grisia’s (Sun Knight) BULLSHIT, getting him out of trouble. His dynamic with Grisia is just hilarious to me. He’s a calm and collective type. Very serious, not very talkative. He’s the head of the ‘cold-faction’ and his role is to punish sinners in grotesque ways so many fear him but HE’S. A. GOOD. BOI!!!!!!! He just—is so dedicated to his role but mostly Grisia, his best-friend-who-is-not-his-friend. I’M CRY.
(Grisia) Sun Knight- The actual main character of the series. He’s so… HE’S AN INSUFFERABLE LIL TWAT—BUT I LOVE HIM. So sassy and just a lil shit in general. He’s very clever and he’s also what you could consider a genius. I love competency, mmm. He’s HELLA petty. To put it simply, he’s the Sun Knight, who is like the head of the Sun Church. You could say he’s the leader of an entire religion, who worship the God of Light. (If you ever see me type OMGOL, it’s bc I’m typing Oh My God of Light. Fax) There are select knights who are spokespeople for the church and he’s the head of them. All such knights are considered to be ‘brothers’ and he’s very protective of them all. Princess? King? Liche? The world? He don’t give any flying fucks. You touch his knights and he’ll get revenge. BET. I love that level of savagery.
(Neo) Sun Knight- I must say, he doesn’t show up much, but he is just //chef kiss. The special knights I mentioned earlier are roles that get passed down to a new generation. There are 12 in total, and the Sun Knight is the topmost knight. Neo Sun is said to be the best knight in HISTORY aside from the original. His sword skills are legendary and he raised Grisia, the… uh… ‘weakest’ Sun Knight in history. He’s the weakest in sword skill and horse riding skill, but Grisia is the strongest when it comes to magic proficiency. Just Neo’s name can send Grisia into a panic. He is somewhat of a Father for Grisia. A scary one, but one that Grisia cares deeply for. The sacrifices that Neo has made for Grisia is just //sob. He and Lesus both have done so much for Grisia behind the scenes and I’m just--- //cries harder.
-
The King’s Avatar
Ye Xiu- He is the main character of this novel and ughhh I love him so much. He too, IS A LIL SHIT!!!! He is so insufferable sometimes to his opponents and I LOVE IT. He’s very smart and skilled in what he does. He’s a professional gamer and I don’t understand a thing about games but I only need to know that he’s wicked good lol. He’s very dedicated to Glory, the game that he was a professional gamer for. He kinda… got ousted out by the team he FOUNDED. He says that he’ll get back into the professional association and take another championship. The novel centers around him and you watch as he sets out to complete a specific goal in mind in honor of a certain someone.
Huang Shaotian- A talkative dumbass. I love him. He is such PUPPY ENERGY. He bothers Ye Xiu a lot with his highkey energy. He’s extremely talented and he is known for his trash talking. He talks ridiculously fast and he’s just so--- insufferable in another way lol. I love him for it. He doesn’t always think before he talks and it gets him into trouble. Even though they are on opposing teams, he is quite fond of Ye Xiu and after finding out Ye Xiu suddenly retired (ie he was forced out of his team), he was very concerned for him. He even travelled to come talk to him and do him a favor. He was like: Old Ye, if you ever need anything, just ask! I’ll help! THIS. GOOD. BOI!!!!!!!!!! He’s really just a big idiot sometimes. “Hey, Shaotian, where are you?” “Oh, I’m xxxxxx.” “Oh? That’s where a boss spawns. I’ll be there.” Who just—he legit just gave intel to Ye Xiu about a boss monster spawn to an enemy guild. He is just too honest and ready to answer to Ye Xiu. You can tell he really respects Ye Xiu despite what trash talk he spouts. Ye Xiu IS the God of Glory, after all.
Han Wenqing- IN COMING YE XIU’S OLD RIVAL FOR YEARS!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH They just--- I’M CRY. They have such history with each other, constantly butting head with each other in game/tournaments. They don’t have a dynamic where they look at each other and just cuss each other out or what have you. They genuinely respect each other and wouldn’t mind hanging out with each other in private. They are both captains of their own respective teams and the fans of their teams are mortal enemies lol. Han Wenqing and Ye Xiu are both older players and you really get to see the struggles older players face in the tough gaming industry. He’s a responsible captain and he is so respectable. He’s so great. I love him too. The dynamic he has with Ye Xiu is--- //crying

Baby Cody pt.1
Pairing: Baz Blackwell x OC, Pope Cody x OC, Craig Cody x OC, Deran Cody x OC, J Cody x OC (Platonical)
Warnings; swearing, infidelity, slight mention of drugs, slight mention of mental disorders (very slight)
So...Here I am, by the pool watching these fools drinking some beers and waiting for Smurf, she said something about Julia’s son, Joshua. It’s been like 10 years since the last time I saw the kid, Julia was my best friend but she isolated from us and I never saw her again, neither of us did.
Suddenly Smurf entered the backyard with a blonde teen behind her, I guessed he was J, I tried to get up from the lounge chair where I was lying down but my belly was bothering me, a 5 months old twin belly is like having a 9 months old normal belly so everything was more difficult for me.
-Baz...- I called for help, he walked to me and gave me his hand, I took it while he pulled me up -Thank you.
We got closer to Smurf and J, Deran and Craig were saying hello to his nephew
-Do you remember your aunt Ellie?-asked Smurf referring to me, he looked a bit uncomfortable and confused but he nodded with his head, I got closer to him, while my lip started to quiver.
-Can I... Can I hug you?- I asked while my eyes were watering, oh my god fucking pregnancy made me weaker, he nodded again, I embraced him, he was way taller than my like all the Cody boys, I started to sob, Julia was my best friend and now she’s gone, I know that the last thing the kid needed was a crazy girl who he doesn’t remember crying all over him but hey, it’s not my fault being this sensitive, I slowly let him go- I’m sorry- I apologized while drying my tears with the sleeves of my sweater- It’s the hormones.
-It’s okay...- He answered quietly, after that Smurf went to show J his room and I stayed with the boys in the backyard, I went to sit again on a chair beside the grill and started to cry again, I covered my face with my hands, my body was shaking with my sobs and I could feel the boys looking at me and whispering but I couldn’t understand what they were saying until I felt someone sitting close to me, I looked up and saw Deran in front of my while Baz and Craig where standing up on each side of him, and they all were looking at me.
-Ellie...- Deran started to talk and grabbed both of my hands- I know it hurts, a lot, but I need you, well... WE need you to calm down, you haven’t stopped crying since we got the news-he rubbed my hands with his thumbs- I know you can’t control it but you need to talk with us, we need you healthy, the babies need you healthy- he grabbed my cheek with one of his hands and I leaned into him- Okay baby?- I nodded, he kissed my forehead- We love you.
-I love you too, boys- I answered.
So you may be wondering who’s the father of my baby? weeeeell, we don’t know yet, let me explain, so me and the boys were in sort of polyamorous relationship, in the beggining I was only a sort of distraction for the boys, when one of them was stressed out he came to me and well, we fucked to let go some steam, I got pregnant, and now we wait for the babies to be born to know who’s the father, but they all claim they love me the same way, but the Cody family it’s a fucked up family, including me.
Baz has Catherine and Lena, Catherine doesn’t know that the babies could possibly be Baz’s.
Craig has his drugs.
Pope has his mental disorders.
Deran has... I don’t know what the fuck has Deran but he is also problematic and can be a jerk sometimes.
I love them all the same way because they loved me with my problems too, they’re my family but they can get a little too much sometimes.
Check my fandom list and send your requests!!!

Find Your Way Back Home
Summary: Loki and Ingrid (OC) were childhood friends, glued to each other’s side for years, causing mischief together of course, until she became an adult and Asgard was in danger. And in order to keep her safe, he sends her to Midgard. It’s been five years since then... What will she do when he shows up at her door? After all this time?
Word Count: 4,311 words (I’m not even sorry ;))
Author’s Note: I just really freaking love Loki, so I decided to do a little two part story for my fellow Loki lovers. @drakesfiance @mischiefunmanagedus
Pairing: Loki X OC (Ingrid)
Warnings: Extreme fluff, a bit of angst, and so much love <3
Part 2 coming soon
Tumblr media
Loki remembered the day perfectly, the memory of it has been the only thing that’s kept him sane all these years away from her.
It was a fateful, spring day in Asgard, flowers were just beginning to bloom and kids squealed happily and played, then there was Loki. All alone in the corner of the courtyard, watching wistfully as everyone played, wishing he were as liked as his brother, Thor. They were only six at the time, but already Thor Odinson was the most popular boy at the school, he had everyone wrapped around his finger from such a young age.
Loki, however, was cast aside by the other students, he was deemed different and not like his brother, so the kids stayed away from him, they were afraid of him. He didn’t let them show it hurt him, because even at that age, he had to learn to hide his emotions and be strong, despite the perils he faced and would face later in life.
That was until Ingrid arrived at the school, brunette, braided pigtails, blue eyes, bright smile. Loki knew immediately that she was the prettiest creature he had ever seen.
She had seen him sitting all alone and skipped merrily over to him, still smiling and not the least bit afraid, in fact, she was intrigued by the little boy, his raven hair and equally, mischievous blue eyes that she shared as well.
She smiled, and he looked up, awestruck that someone like her would come up to someone like him.
“I’m Ingrid,” she said, voice sweet and showing no sign of ill will, but he could tell from the look in her eyes she was, like him, a troublemaker. “What’s your name?”
“Loki.”
She moves to sit down next to him, so open and kind to him, he’d never experienced it before her. She grinned, “Let’s be friends.”
“Really?” he had to ask.
“Yes, really,” she said with a giggle and he couldn’t help but smile back. “I have an idea, and I need your help.”
“What is it?”
She pulled out something from her skirt pocket, revealing Odin’s eye patch, “I snatched it from him when he set it down, I was over there with my mother.”
Loki grinned, “Why did you do that?”
She shrugged, putting it back in her pocket, like it was the most normal thing in the world to steal the King of Asgard’s eye patch, one of his most prized possessions.
“Because it was fun,” she said simply then smiled. “Let’s go hide it somewhere.”
In that moment, they both knew, that this would the start of a wonderful and beautiful friendship.
From that day forward the two of them started trouble wherever they went, so much so, teachers wouldn’t let them be together in class for fear of them creating chaos. Which always ensued because they’d find their way back to each other, they always did.
They were both sixteen when they both were learning to fight with the King’s guard, both getting the special treatment because Loki was Odin’s song after all.
Ingrid was a quick learner and before long she was an excellent fighter, on top of the magic that ran through her own veins, she could control the air around her and manipulate it to her liking, which came in handy for the many shenanigans the two of them would go on.
She lunged for him, arm wrapped around his neck before flipping him over her shoulder with all her strength and might. She was a warrior, Loki knew this, and it helped how skinny he was, not have hitting puberty just yet, even if he is a god.
She was on top of him by then. She grinned wickedly, brown hair cascading down her shoulders. She had grown a lot, become more beautiful everyday, Loki thought, he didn’t think it was possible for someone to be this cunning yet so kind.
“You’ll have to do better than that, love,” he says, flipping them over so he was above her now.
She laughed, breathing heavily, “Touche.” She reached up and kissed his cheek, distracting him long enough to flip them back over.
“You tricky minx,” he breathed out, grinning impishly.
She laughed, “You love it.”
He smiled and got up on his feet, holding out his hand to her, she takes it but not before pulling him down, back to the ground. They were chest to chest now, and she erupted with laughter.
“Tsk, tsk, Loki, you should know better than that, my friend,” she continued to grin. “And here I thought you were the god of mischief.”
He smirked, raven hair falling over his eyes. She reached up and pushed a strand of hair behind his ear.
“I like your hair a little longer,” she muses, and looked him in the eyes. “You should grow it out, you’d look very handsome,” she teased him and he blushed at the compliment.
“As you wish, Ingrid,” he smiled, pulling her up with him, chest to chest again, just as Thor walked into the room, eyeing the two of them suspiciously.
“How cute, you two,” Thor pointed pointed between them. “I could feel the tension in here all the way from the grand hall.” Ingrid smiled at the comment, noticing the blush on Loki’s cheeks.
“Shut up, brother,” Loki all but growled. “Ingrid and I were only training, unlike you, going out at all hours of the night instead of doing something productive with your time.”
“One of us should have a social life, wouldn’t you think, dear brother?” Thor smiled smugly, looking at Ingrid for a moment.
Thor was always kind, yes, but for a long time he was what Midgardian’s call a “player”, but who could blame him, he was irresistible and charming, but he hadn’t found his way just yet. In time, he would, Ingrid knew. She cared for Thor like her own brother because he was Loki’s family, and most of the time, she would enjoy his company, but never as much as she did Loki’s.
“I hope to see you again, Ingrid,” he had winked at her. “And hopefully, alone.”
Loki’s heart roared with jealousy, even if he knew she didn’t feel that way about Thor, he always felt his own insecurities get the best of him.
But she only scoffed, she never fell for his charms, her heart belonged elsewhere, even if she did not know it at the time. “I’m afraid the feeling isn’t mutual, Thor Odinson.”
Loki barked with laughter, it always did crack him up when she would resist Thor, unlike every girl in Asgard. Instead, you preferred his cool and mischievous yet soft, kindhearted brother. She loved the smile that made its way onto Loki’s face, her own heart swelling at the sight.
“You heard her, brother, you can leave,” Loki shooed him off with his hand and Ingrid shook her head, Thor going with an exasperated huff, but smiling when he knows they both couldn’t see.
He knew of Loki’s affection long before Ingrid did, and loved to tease the two of them, knowing that his brother would indeed get jealous, perhaps he’ll end up pushing the two of them into each other’s arms soon enough, he thought before walking off.
But he would be wrong.
Even if the two of them felt something within them, both of them wanting the other to act on the feelings first because they were both too stubborn to make the first move. So he watched her be courted by other men, after she developed curves, longer hair, and a sinful smile. She watched other girls, ones that avoided him like the black plague all throughout grade school, after he hit puberty, growing into his looks, pale, ivory skin, wicked, blue eyes, strong jaw, sharp cheekbones, and became muscular after training with you, and still lean. But that smirk, the one she loved, was only for her, no one else.
He had once tried to go after her and tell her how he really felt, it had been Ingrid’s 20th birthday, and he had gotten her a locket to profess his love to her, so sincerely and beautifully.
But before he could, he saw her with another man, in his arms and happy without him, that he felt those insecurities creep back up again. He threw the locket into the sea that night, vowing to keep his feelings hidden, knowing he would never be good enough for her and that she would never feel the same.
She did, though. She desperately did, and she only let men court her to make him jealous, she always was the trickster. But after never getting the reaction she wanted, she dated other men because she wanted to get over her feelings, that they could never be more than friends.
The last time they saw each other bitter and left both heartbroken, when she was in an aircraft just as Asgard was burning to the ground, their home disintegrating before both of their eyes.
“No, no,” tears had been sliding down her cheeks, gripping onto his armor sleeves, looking at his eyes that were glassy with tears as well. “No, I’m staying with you. Let me fight.”
“I cannot risk it,” he gulped, leaning his forehead against hers, one singular tear rolling down his face, clenching his eye shut. “I cannot risk you, my princess. Go to Midgard. Start a life of your own and be happy.”
“Dammit, Loki,” she slammed her fists into his chest, continuing to sob. “Let me stay, I’m not leaving you!” she looks into his eyes, both wanting to do the one thing that they’d been begging to do since the moment they laid eyes on each other.
But he turned from her. “Yes,” he paused to signal to the pilot after everyone was completely boarded on the ship. “You are.”
“No, Loki,” she whispered, pleading to him. “Don’t let me go, please.”
“I love you,” he said to her, looking her in the eye and she frowned, anger and sadness clawing at her heart. She didn’t want to leave, she wanted to fight with him and save her home.
Yes, they’ve said they loved each other, but as friends and only platonic, but the look in his eyes when he meets her gaze tells a different story.
She met his gaze, “I love you too,” she said breathlessly, eyes searching his face.
He nodded, “Then you’ll forgive me,” he said in a pained voice, struggling to let you go, but if he let you stay, it would be selfish of him, to risk your life just to be with you. Besides, you’d be much happier without him.
“Loki!” she yelled after him as the ship closed and he watched her fly away from him, breathing deeply to contain the sobs of his own, knowing this was for the best if it meant you would be safe.
It was now present day and Ingrid is working at Avengers headquarters, now standing in the kitchen with Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers, arguing over who is more muscular when everyone around them knows the answer. But no one would ever tell them that.
“Steve’s on steroids, it doesn’t count!” Bucky gesticulates wildly and Natasha only grins and shakes her head, looking to Wanda who shares a smile as well. Ingrid can’t contain her laugh, and soon all three girls are doubled over in fits of giggles together.
Steve laughs along with them, “I’m not on steroids!” he says. “I was put into a machine and given superhero abilities, there’s a difference.”
“Can’t you too just call it a tie? It doesn’t really matter,” Ingrid smiles, looking at the two boys like a scolding mother would her misbehaving sons, her sweet, English accent calming both of them.
“Whatever you say, doll,” Bucky winks with a click of his tongue, being the charmer that he is. “But we all now who’s more muscular,” he flexes his arm to show off his muscles.
“It’s obviously Steve,” Natasha gestures to his arms and Steve beams.
“But I’m the one with the robot arm!” Bucky whines.
“No offense, cyborg,” Tony says, walking into the room. “But he is and Capsicle can thank the Starks for that,” Tony points finger guns at Captain.
“Your father was a smart man, yes, but I would say that him procreating and having you was a horrible idea,” Natasha pats Tony hard on the back, walking out of the room.
“At least I’m not the one that’s a ballerina spy,” Tony grumbles under his breath. “How are you supposed to fight with a tutu anyway?” he asks himself out loud, walking out into the hallway.
“Okay,” Ingrid laughs, shaking her head and getting her things. “That’s my cue to get home, Frigga should be there from the bus in an hour or so and I need to be there to meet her.”
“That kid of yours sure is cute,” Steve smiles.
She returns it, “Good genes, I guess.”
“If she’s anything like her momma...” Bucky grins.
“You’re a big flirt, you know that?” she tells him with a soft chuckle.
---
“Momma!” Frigga runs up to Ingrid and envelopes her mother in a tight hug, wrapping her small arms around her neck as Ingrid lifts her off the ground, spinning her four year old in her arms.
“Hello, my little flower,” she coos in her wheat colored hair, looking into her daughter’s blue eyes that she got from her. “How was your day at school?”
“Really good,” she says, getting out of her mother’s arm as they walk hand in hand inside. “But Arthur and I did get in trouble again.”
Her heart clenches at the mention of her getting into trouble with a friend, but not because she’s disappointed in her daughter, but because it reminds her of her own childhood best friend that she gotten into trouble with as well. She misses him terribly, everyday, more and more she thinks about him, until he’s just a small, aching place in her chest.
“Frigga...” Ingrid scolds her daughter, kneeling down to her level. “You can’t get in trouble so much, it just sounds like this Loki is a bad influence on you.”
Her daughter furrows her brow adorably. “Who is Loki?”
Ingrid realizes she said the wrong name and shakes her head, not going to cry over him today. It’s been five years, get it together, she thinks to herself.
“Sorry, Frigga,” she apologizes with a small smile. “I mean Arthur. Why are two getting into trouble together?”
“Because he’s my best friend,” she grins. “And I love him,” she says sweetly.
God, she sounds so much like me right now.
There’s a knock on the door and it causes both Ingrid and Frigga to whip their head in its direction, the two of them share another look and Frigga raises her eyebrow. Another knock sounds from the door.
“Do I need to get the baseball bat?” Frigga punches her fist into her palm.
“No, dear,” Ingrid kisses the top of her daughter’s head. “I’ll go get it, you go get the television ready for us to watch your favorite movie.”
She nods eagerly and skips happily into the other room, Ingrid smiles fondly as she walks up to the door, pulling it open.
The smile soon fades from her face when she stands face to face with a familiar, raven haired prince. He smiles and it’s so soft and unlike him, it catches her off guard. All this time he finally decides to see her, and now he’s here, he’s really here. Five years of waiting for him to find her and hold her again, to cause trouble like they did when they were children and get back to who they were. She’s upset, frustrated, devastated, heartbroken, elated that he’s back, but... angry.
Ingrid shakes her head in disbelief, wiping at her teary eyes, a few stray ones falling, before looking him dead in the eye again.
Then he smirks eyes raking over her, she’s so beautiful, if not more so than the last time he saw her. Her long, warm, brown locks fall down her shoulders in lazy curls, and he can tell her body is gorgeous, compliments wonderfully with a silk blouse and tight, pencil skirt, hugging her waist. She’s frowning at him, and it hurts him so to see her so angry at him, but he knows it is justified, she must be furious. But not only was she the most stunning woman he has ever seen, more than an goddess or maiden he’s ever laid eyes on, she’s also a warrior, a genius, a fighter. And that’s why he’s been in love with her since that day in courtyard, knowing he’d do anything, anything for this one girl, just to make her happy.
He’s sporting that wonderful green and gold suit she loved so much, and she can’t help but notice how her heart does a little flip at the sight of his infamous, little smirk, “Oh, how I’ve missed you, darling.”
Then she slaps him across the face.
He doesn’t even flinch, but clenches his eyes shut, frowning, “I suppose I deserve that.”
“You suppose?” she repeats. “You send me to Earth, don’t talk or reach out to me for five fucking years and forget about me. I thought we were friends, and you let me go like I meant nothing to you!”
Loki’s eyes blaze and he has to look away from her, avoiding the hurt evident in her cobalt blue eyes. “Believe me, love, I never forgot about you. I only thought that you wouldn’t want to see me after-”
“After what happened?” she finishes for him. “Well you wouldn’t know that I’ve missed you everyday for the last five years, wondering if you were ever going to come back to me, thinking that I wasn’t good enough for you to find me because you never asked. Did I really mean that little to you? Little enough for you to-”
His arms are wrapped around her in an instant, pulling her flush to his chest, head resting on her shoulder. She struggles against him for a moment, but he holds her tighter, just before she lets a sob escape and wraps her own arms tightly around him, crying into his chest, inhaling his familiar aroma of lemongrass and cedar-wood.
“You mean everything to me, Ingrid,” he whispers into her hair, hand rubbing soothing circles on her back. “I never came because of my own self doubt and insecurities, and for that I am truly sorry.”
She looks back up at him and grins, causing his heart to flutter, a feeling he’s only ever gotten around her. He’s missed this, her being in his arms, inhaling her scent, still loving her after all this time. His desire for her has only grown with the passing years, and standing in front of her now, he can hardly contain himself.
“Then why now?” she asks.
“Thank my dear brother, Thor, for that,” he whispers in her ear, a breath of laughter escaping him making her giggle. “He’s visiting Jane and made me come along.”
“How long will you be here?”
“As long as I need to be,” he whispers into her hair, kissing the top of her head.
“Don’t give me any ideas,” she holds his face in her hand and he leans into her touch. “I just might keep you here with me forever.”
“I can think of far worse punishments,” his eyes glaze over her.
“Are you flirting with me, Loki Lafeuyson?” she asks, laughing softly at how much she enjoys it.
“Oh, darling, if I am, you’ll know it,” he whispers, meeting her eyes with an wolfish smile, worried he just might take her here and now.
She matches his mischief filled smirk, “Well-”
“Mommy!” Frigga yells from inside and Ingrid unlatches herself from Loki’s grip, looking to her daughter before scooping her up in her arms.
Frigga looks at Loki, perplexed and curious to who this strange man is, “Who is this mommy? Is this Loki? The man you talked about earlier?”
“It most certainly is, my flower,” she looks at Loki who appears to be very nervous, looking at the daughter with bewildered eyes.
“She’s...”
“Yes,” Ingrid gulps nervously, looking to Loki.
“Well, she...” he looks at her with soft eyes. “Shares your beauty, the same blue eyes as well.”
Ingrid blushes, setting her daughter down, “Well, her father gave her the blonde hair, not me.”
Loki makes an “oh” face, and nods, licking his lips. The thought of Ingrid being with another man, her bearing his child, makes his heart burn with jealousy. He wishes to be that man for her, but that would be him being selfish again.
Maybe you both deserved to be a little a selfish.
Before Loki can ask about the father, Frigga tugs him down to meet her face, he smiles and gets down to her level, on one knee in front of her. And just like Ingrid was all those years ago, she is not afraid of him, and that makes him smile. He’s never known love like this before. Frigga’s hands hold his face and she studies his features, looking at the man that’s making her mother smile this way. She’s four, yes, but even she knows what love is, at least when she sees it.
“Hello, little one,” he grins and Frigga returns it, causing Ingrid’s heart to swell at the sight.
It’s like she’s falling in love with him all over again, friend or not, he holds a place in her heart.
“Can I tell you a secret, Mr. Loki?” she whispers conspiratorially.
He nods, tilting his head so she can whisper in his ear.
She cups her little hands over her mouth as she loudly whispers, “I think my mommy has a crush on you.”
Loki looks at Ingrid for a moment, biting his lip to hold back a grin, nodding to the daughter, “Interesting. And how do you know this, little flower?”
“Her face is different,” Frigga explains. “And she’s smiling a lot, she keeps looking at you too.”
Loki grins and Ingrid is nervous now, wondering what they’re whispering over. “Can I tell you a secret in return?” Loki asks.
Frigga nods eagerly, looking at the man with bright eyes and a bright smile.
He cups his own hand over his lips, being sure to let Ingrid hear him as he whispers to the girl, “I have a crush on her too.” Frigga giggles.
Ingrid’s face is all shades of red when he says this, eyes growing wide and lips edging into a demure smile that’s driving Loki wild by the second.
Ingrid is beside Frigga now, turning her daughter in the direction of the living room, “How about you go to the living room while I talk to Loki, hm?”
Frigga has on her own little, knowing smirk and Ingrid tickles her sides, making them both laugh. Loki watches the sight with a smile, wondering to himself why it took him so long to get back to her. Maybe if hadn’t been so stubborn, this little girl before him could have been his instead of another man’s.
It would have changed everything.
Frigga runs excitedly into the other room, leaving the two adults to look at each other, both not knowing what to say or how to say it. How do you say you’ve loved someone your whole life, and never did anything about it because you were simply too afraid of rejection and your own self preservation?
How could they possibly convey all of those feelings? What words could express emotions like those?
“Her father...” Ingrid sighs. “It was one drunken night in college, I got pregnant, and left me after finding out.”
Loki frowns, anger towards this man that would leave a woman as extraordinary and as kind as Ingrid. “I’m sorry, love.”
“Don’t be,” she smiles. “I got Frigga out of it-”
“Wait?” he stops her. “Frigga?”
Ingrid smiles bashfully, blushing again when Loki takes a step closer to her, “Yeah... After your mother, she was more of a mother to me than my own, and I wanted a piece of Asgard to stay with me. A piece of you, I guess.”
He brushes her cheek softly, making her breathing hitch, “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you, darling, the last few years have been agony, wanting to keep you safe. It was no easy task to leave you here, I wish I could have come with you.”
She nods, she knows why he did it, it was to keep her safe. Even if she didn’t like it, she understood. “I missed you too,” she breathes out, meeting his eyes. “God, so much.”
“Then go to dinner with me,” he says, more of a command than a request, but Ingrid didn’t mind, she could hear the evident desperation in his voice, laying his heart out on the table for her, all hers for the taking, looking at her wantonly.
“Dinner...?” Ingrid laughs softly. “You know I can’t.”
“Why not?” he frowns.
“It’s not like don’t want to, Loki, I just... I’m a mother now, I have to take care of her. I haven’t been out with someone since... since...” she pauses to think. “I can’t even remember when.”
“Then all the more reason to go out with me,” he smiles.
She raises her eyebrows. “Are you asking me on a date, Loki?”
“Do you want it to be?” he asks.
She nods, feeling daring in front of him like they were little kids again, “Yes.”
“Then be ready at six tomorrow night,” he smirks. “I have five years to make for, after all.”

Hali's breath started to quicken. Her eyes wide in fear at the possibility that Kai might not...No! He is just late! Maybe I should just go look for him. A million thoughts ran wild through her head before she realized the two dwarves were back. Hali looked up at them timidly. Surely none of these dwarves did anything to him? They wouldn't do that. Right?
Hali griped her wrist where one of many knives was hidden. She can hold herself in a fight, that she knows, but she has never fought a dwarf before. Her knuckles whiten.
Fili sat across from Hali while Kili grabbed a chair and sat at the end. Kili leaned on the table and said, "We're sorry for intruding again, but we want to know more about your journey. We have not seen much of the world and would like to hear what it's like-"
"I can't." She interrupted. "I'm sorry, I just, it's my cousin. He hasn't returned and I'm afraid something has happened to him." Hali stood from the table as she folded her map up and placed it in her bag. "I must go look for him."
Kili stood as well with concern written over his face. "We'll come with you. There has been trouble with ambushes on farmers and merchants. Let us go with you and help you look for your cousin." His brother was standing behind him giving Hali puppy eyes.
Hali considered for a moment. It would be helpful to have extra eyes. They seem like nice dwarves.
Kili studied the girl in front of him. She was taller than even his uncle Thorin, maybe around 5'8". She and her cousin were both brown compared to the light complexion of his village. She was different and from outside his world. She was also obviously scared.
"Okay. You can come with me." Hali says and walks to door.
Kili and Fili's eyes shift to their uncle too busy talking to Dwalin to notice them leaving with the strange outsider.
"So, where are you from, Hali?" Fili asks as they leave through the gates of town.
Hali stops her search of the trees to look at them. "A village south of here. It's a lot smaller than yours though. Our people have dwindled in numbers over the centuries, but it couldn't be helped I suppose." Fili and Kili look at each other in confusion gaining more questions from the answer they were given.
The brothers and Hali tracked Kai southwest of the dwarf village. His trail of footsteps and broken branches making it more than easy to find where he went. That s when they found the little clearing in between the trees, just big enough for a small camp. Kili and Fili's eyes widen in shock at the scene. Kili taking a step back.
Hali was confused about why the brothers stopped and seemed frozen so she pushed through them to see. It took her a moment to figure out what she was seeing. No. It's not him. It can't be Kai.
His back was facing the three, his side was soaked in blood and his ankles looked to be wrapped up in some rope. Hali let out a loud cry that was heard by even the dwarf village nearby. She kept crying and screaming out as she ran to Kai and laid him across her lap, cradling his head with her head.
"Kai? Kai! Please, wake up! Wake up! No, Kai!" Tears went down her face like wax drops as cried.
Eventually Thorin and few other dwarves were sent to investigate the screams. Kili and Fili stopped their uncle before he started to speak. "It's the travelers, Kai and Hali. Kai was attacked by goblins while setting up their camp here." Fili explained quietly.
Thorin looked over to see a girl hunched over a limp body and sighed. He felt bad for the girl, almost guilty. Maybe if he and the others weren't so unwelcoming they would have in the village. Thorin walked to the girl and put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Hali looked up at the dwarf and recognized him as the one who was glaring at them earlier at the pub.
"Tell us what to do and we'll help. We can send the message to your people, if you wish?" He spoke gently.
Hali was shocked at he would help her, but she clung to Kai tighter. "I...I will write message for them." She paused as she held back a sob. "I...I must burn his body. Can you help me carry him?"
Thorin immediately motioned some dwarves to take Kai from her as she told them what to do. The dwarves were unfamiliar with this kind of funeral. Kai was burned away from the village and after the embers finally went out, Hali kneeled down with a small clay jar and took some the ashes. "May we swim the same sea again." She spoke as she put a hand over her heart then reached to embers and then put it back to her heart.
Thorin came beside her and said a dwarvish prayer before meeting gazes with Hali. "It's turning to nightfall. If you wish, you can stay with my sister Dis for the night." Thorin offered.
Hali smiled softly. "That is kind of you to offer. Thank you." Thorin nodded and lead her back to the village with his hand on his sword. The forest seemed to have eyes and he didn't feel it safe to let Hali be alone out here. Goblins were becoming too common.
__________
Fili and Kili left the funeral early due to their mother, Dis, giving them a lecture about neglecting duties and being proper hosts. She didn't want to make Hali feel uncomfortable during her stay.
When Thorin arrived with Hali behind him, Dis instantly hugged her and kissed her cheek. Speaking gently as she led her inside the cottage more she asked, "Are you hungry, dear?"
Hali's stomach growled and she nodded embarrassed. Thorin chuckled patted her shoulder as he helped Dis prepare dinner. Hali offered to help but Dis quickly waved her off and led her to bedroom. "You just rest for now." She then hugged her again and when she leaned back, she was crying. "I'm sorry about Kai. I know what it's like to lose someone close." She sniffled and wiped her tears away. "Oh, I'm sorry."
Hali smiled. "It's okay. We will meet again."
Dis smiles back at her. "You're a very strong girl." And with that, she left to make sure Thorin didn't burn anything.
Hali turned to the bed with a frown. This was a bad. She couldn't travel alone, not without Kai, without someone. Turning back wasn't a option. What was she going to do?
