Some days you want to work hard on your little fanfic epics, spending hours detangling the lore and timeline and plans for stories crying in the night for an update, and some days you're sick off your rocker and just hacking a lung out while haze-blinking into the horizon as you halt reading someone else's fic summary mid-first sentence to hard left turn into a very blurry but detailed daydream about the dwarves thinking Bilbo died in the Battle of the Five Armies while Bilbo--unaware of a king and his company upending their own mountain in a fit of grief as he heals among the Men or Elves--ends up in an awkward Race to Mordor with a Sauron he is barely aware of alongside his own ironic Nine, made up of himself, Gandalf, Bard, Legolas, Tauriel, and a trio of dwarves (Dís, Gimli, Gimli's mom) plus an unexpected favorite cousin (Falco Chubb-Baggins) who all broke off from the first convoy of Blue Mountain immigrants to Erebor to go along and protect Bilbo.
Place bets now on how Thorin & Company hear of their burglar's survival and latest insanity (highest bids placed on the remaining Blue Mountain travelers passing along word vs a smarmy message from Thranduil), how quickly they shake off their shrouds of mourning and royal pseudo-widowhood, and where exactly on the path between Erebor and Mount Doom they manage to catch up to and dog pile an unwitting Hobbit.
#apologies for the sick day rambles#bagginshield#story ideas#I need to master the art of authors who cover a whole adventure/story in flash scenes across a series of short fics#i'd get so many of these ideas down in at least written form if I could master that vs my impulse for 100K+ monsters#bilbo fellowship au#i'm normally not for a 'bilbo destroys the ring early' since i love lotr so much I don't want to derail it too much but~ when the ideas hit#still it feels wrong to have only 1 hobbit in a fellowship so I played off those falco chubb-baggins lore tidbits#and I headcanon falco as a young curly haired michael sheen. just cause I love him & think he looks a fair bit like martin freeman.#bonus points include early gigolas humor gimli mom lore dis-bilbo in-law bonding & bilbo carrying a dwobbit frodo the entire gd time#last 2 points leading to Thorin slamming into the action ready to scream at his Hobbit--only to get blindsided by screams from his sister#queue bilbo frozen in shock as 2 royal siblings-fight trying to quietly sneak off-only for 2 very different royal siblings to bodyslam him#and dis screaming at her sons to be more careful with the hobbit and when why comes out All Hell Breaks Loose because wtf bilbo? THORIN???#(and no bilbo did not know either when he left erebor—life just be rude like that)#and yes somewhere in that the ring and gollum and sauron and gandalf and probably saruman too. the wizard can handle the actual plot right?#and yeah eagles come in to save everyone at the last frustrating minute. because what's a tolkien quest without that in there?

Day 14 of Tolkien Doodles!
Today is a little break from the mini comic for a true doodle dump.
Thus, we have:
Potential sketches for Dis!
I’m not sure how boxy or pointy to make her, but I do know that she is absolutely taller than Thorin, and he is very much insecure about that.
She plays the French horn and the tuba, because she views life as a challenge to pummel into the earth. However, she is also probably the most culturally affluent of the orchestra, and also the most polite to Bilbo, at least in terms of first impressions.
MUCH to Thorin’s utter horror, they become fast friends and confidants.
For anyone new here, this is for my Hobbit Philharmonic AU!
#the hobbit#thorin and company#fanart#thorin oakenshield#the hobbit philharmonic au#the hobbit au#bagginshield#bilbo baggins#thilbo#dis durin#of course I’m drawing Thorin’s sister as an Amazonian woman#and of course I’m juxtaposing that with gentle femininity#because goddammit I love to subvert expections in my silly little stories

firstly happy new year!
i wanted to tell you i love your works and maybe ask if i can request a Thorin's company x reader where the reader is from our world and has many tattoos (like a full sleeve) and the company's reaction, maybe the dwarves show their tattoos too?
thank youuu so much!
Ooh, this is cool! Sorry it took so long this got buried in my inbox 😣 I’m going to try to keep the tattoos as vague/open as possible but I may describe em here & there, sorry 😅 Hope this is enjoyable & accurate hehe, ya girl does not have any tattoos herself~
Warnings: slight suggestive jokes, minor blood in one
Showing Thorin’s Company Your Tattoos
Balin
It started the moment he pulled out the contract. You’d gone traveling with the company but not officially joined until this moment. Soon as the parchment unfurled, you began rolling your sleeves up and out of ink’s way. Glancing upward, you caught Balin’s eyes upon the designs inked into your skin. “Oh,” you cocked your head, pen momentarily forgotten, “have you never seen tattoos like this before?” Such a question earned you a sudden burst of laughter from the white-haired dwarf, who shook his head. “Nay, not in the slightest! Quite the opposite. We dwarves are famous for our designs. I suppose that yes, I’ve never seen ones like yours,” he glances over yours once more, “but many I have seen.” Suddenly you felt compelled to ask: “Well, do you like them?” Balin smiled. “Of course I do! Just because they are different doesn’t mean they are bad. Watch out for my brother, though, he’ll be itching to give you a new one if you get on his good side.” He gave a wink and that sealed it for you- you knew it already, but it rang through your head once more that you had a place in this company.
Dwalin
It had started with a compliment. “I like your tattoos,” you told the shaven-headed dwarf with a smile and a nod his way. He looked surprised, then pride settled into his eyes beneath the fire’s flicker. “Thanks. Bet you’ve never seen anything like ‘em before, eh?” Matching Dwalin’s smug smile, you rolled up your sleeve to reveal the art covering your own body. “By my beard,” he breathed. “Would you believe me if I said there was more where that came from?” You teased. “May not have before,” the dwarf grinned, “but I certainly do now. Bet you don’t know what mine mean, though…” "Well then, tell me." Brows raising, he crosses his arms and looks you over as if anew. "And perhaps if you prove yourself, I can add to your collection." As you can imagine, this turned into quite a long conversation.
Thorin
The king-to-be’s eyebrows raise, a look of pure shock crossing his regal features when you expose the long expanses of tattoos you’ve decorated yourself with. Arching a brow, you assume it is some sort of royal sensibility and roll your eyes, at least until you hear Thorin’s faint words emerge, barely above a whisper. “My sister has something quite like that. May I?” Stunned, you simply nod, holding your arm out as Thorin draws closer, fingers gently brushing over your inked skin as a small smile creeps to his lips. “I remember when she got it. She wanted me to get one, too, but I was too afraid.” A deep chuckle. “You, I see, do not lack the courage. Dis would like you. Very much,” he comments, blue eyes shining into yours.
Oin
“You’ve gotta be more careful next time,” Oin shakes his head as he lowers you onto the blanket, one hand tucked carefully behind your head. “You’re welcome,” you grin, though the expression quickly turns into a wince as pain arcs up your newly acquired wound. Tutting, Oin says nothing, opting instead to strip off your layers to dab at the blood collecting there. He pauses, though, over your bared skin. “You never told me…” Gloved hand waving vaguely over you, and you chuckle weakly. “What, that I have an amazing pain tolerance?” “That’s one way to put it,” he replies, “and let’s hope so. You’ll need it. They did heal quite nicely, you know. Half the ones I’ve done looked a mess after.” “You do tattoos, huh?” You chuckle again, smiling up at him as he worked. “Now that I’d like to see.”
Gloin
Bursting into hearty laughter, Gloin claps a hand to your shoulder. "Thinkin' you can beat Dwalin, are you?” Obviously you are quite confused, tilting your head at him until you trace the line of his eyes to your exposed wrist. The edges of a tattoo showed there, bringing a chuckle to your lips. “Hadn’t thought of it like that,” you shot back, “but I suppose I would have him bested.” Gloin bursts into hearty laughter as you push up your sleeve to reveal skin entirely covered. “Bless me, I was teasing you! You really went for it, though! What did you do for yours? I managed to barter for mine,” he grins, pushing up his own sleeve to reveal a design near his shoulder. “I wish that was how it worked for me,” you sigh, rolling your eyes at the thought of all your lost money, “where I come from, it’s pay or nothing.” Cue Gloin lining you up deeds to get dwarven ink done should you so desire.
Bifur
Catching Bifur gesturing your way, you frown slightly and turn back around, fixing him with a look of concern at his hasty motions. Finally, he traces a hand up his arm, prompting you to peer down at your own. Ah, right. He'd probably never caught a glimpse of your tattoos before. You nod, sign a 'what?' you hope doesn't come across too cheeky, and grin when he gives up and rolls his eyes and grabs your arm. “Well,” you ask, “like ‘em?” In all honesty, you have no expectation for his reply, but the enthusiastic nod and tug up of his tunic still has your eyebrows raising in shock. He has one, too, it seems, at least the one, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s quite similar to one of yours. Smiling, you wondered if that was as meaningful to him as it was to you.
Bofur
“Well you’re full of surprises, aren’t you?” You aren’t even certain what the hatted dwarf means until you follow his gaze down the length of the arm you’d bared to spearfish with, tracing the lines of your tattoos. “So you could say,” you reply mystically, waving fingers until the both of you are laughing. “Which one’s your favorite? I wanna see ‘em all. Well, if you’ll let me, of course, and…" Cutting him off with a hand held up and a smile, you answer, "I know what you mean. When we're done here, we'll need some time by the fire. I'll show you then." Eyes shining, Bofur gives you a grin and wades into the river with you. That evening, as you sat and warmed your soaked legs by the toasty fire, you rolled up your sleeve all the way this time, telling him the story of every single tattoo and chortling at his animated commentary.
Bombur
The others saw them, but Bombur’s reaction amused you the most by far. Without thinking, he grabbed your arm and held it up, eyes scanning your art beneath the warmth of his gentle hold. “Well,” you chuckled, “what do you think, do you approve?” “I quite like yours,” he agreed, “yours are pictures. I like them better than Dwalin’s.” A call of protest from the warrior dwarf rang out defending both his own art and of course the traditions of their people. But if you have any of things Bombur enjoys most, things representing family, food, animals, nature, and the like, he keeps fighting for you to the last word! "But I like the pictures! Have you seen them? Come have a look here." There you stand, your hand tightly in Bombur's grip, but you cannot help smiling.
Dori
The two of you had all but insisted the dwarves finally wash some of their layers, so they agreed under the express conditions that the ones who cared so do it. As you knelt at the riverside with a bundle of (frankly filthy) clothing, you rolled up your sleeves to the elbows and saw Dori staring out of the corner of your eye. He didn’t look particularly scandalized and you were used to eyes upon your art, expected it even. “Looking at these?” You asked with a smile. Sheepishly he nodded. “My brother has a couple of those. Always trying to get me to have one done,” he scoffed, “but I don’t exactly fancy a voluntary stabbing myself.” You can’t help laughing at that. “They certainly did hurt,” you agree in your mirth. Dori’s eyes slid down your forearm one more time. “You must be quite tough, then, aren’t you? Strong and sensible,” he beams.
Nori
One of your tattoos is especially meaningful, so the moment its subject comes up in conversation you are peeling back layers to reveal it. Many dwarven eyebrows raise as the sun strikes your skin, but you can’t help noticing Nori specifically, the look of intrigue and perhaps something else in his eyes. Challenging him with a look, you cock your head a bit at him. “Didn’t realize you had any,” he says simply. With a faint snort, you nod. “Well, here you go,” you roll up your sleeve further. Nori’s eyes trail up and down the expanse of skin one more time. “I’ve got a few myself.” Naturally, you ask him where, and that is when he breaks into a rakish smile and winks. “You’ll have to guess.”
Ori
Smiling at Ori as you accepted his sketchbook, you pushed back your sleeve to save it from smudging his work or the addition he'd welcomed you to make on a new page. An entry into his little world you were honored at the invitation to create. But when you glanced back up at the dwarf, your joy faded sharply away at the widening of his eyes. Shock, no doubt, at the revelation of the ink covering your forearm, designs you'd hidden for fear of distaste or harsh questioning. Quickly you slid the fabric back down, but Ori just gaped, looking more than a bit awed. "You have so many. Did they hurt?" A common enough question, posed innocently as you'd expect from the company's youngest. "Some more than others, that is for sure," you answered simply, "but I took it in silence." Humming in further awe, Ori leaned closer to you. "Nori screamed like a baby bird the whole time he got his." Bursting suddenly from your chest, your laughter cascaded over your whole body in relief, comfort returning to your little world. "I quite like yours better than his, too, especially that one," Ori added, pointing where he'd seen a particularly nice piece. Perhaps you should have known the artist would understand.
Fili
“Whatcha got there?” Glancing down at the utensil in your hand, you shrug. “Ladle. I was helping Bombur do the rinsing.” At that, the elder Durin heir smirks. “Not that,” he says, gesturing up from your hand, “those.” Right. “Oh, my tattoos? If you’ve never seen anything like them, I can tell you-” “Never seen anything like it?” Fili snorts in amusement, crossing his arms. “I take it you’ve not looked upon the dwarven kings of old.” Removing his coat and outer tunic, he bares his own arms. “I’d like to get mine here.” He touches his bicep. “One ringing each side.” “How convenient,” you tease as he flexes the toned muscle of his arms. “What?” “Nothing,” you snort, shaking your head.
Kili
The pair of you had been sparring, Kili parrying your every move before you finally sat down in defeat, accepting a newly-filled waterskin gratefully. The dwarf kept teasing you, saying all that he could about how well he knew you and the like. "Why, I practically know everything about you," he said with a proud look, "you'll not be surprising me any time soon." "Well, then, if you know me so well," you countered, "which tattoo is my favorite?" "Very funny, you haven't any..." Kili's eyes widened as you rolled up your sleeve, scanning every inch of ink. "...Tattoos." "What was that you were saying?" You asked, smirking into his speechless gape. Curse him, he regained his composure quickly, though, expression falling back into the smile you had to admit you loved. "Well, I certainly know which one is my favorite."
Bilbo
You start tugging at your top at the collarbones and Bilbo’s eyes practically pop out of his head when your tattoos peep at him. “You too?” He asks, tone incredulous. Chuckling in amusement, you fix him with an inquisitive look. “And what does that mean?” “Well,” he begins, voice faltering, “I suppose I just thought of that as, well, as a dwarf thing. What with Dwalin and all.” “Surprise,” you tease him with a grin, exposing more skin he flushes at the sight of, “but look, I think you’ll quite like this one…” Any tattoo you have from nature, after all, surely catches the hobbit's gentle eye in a heartbeat. “Oh, that is… quite beautiful,” Bilbo breathes with a faraway smile, “can I touch it? Wait, what am I saying, I’m sorry…”

The poll is done and you have spoken: most of you have the headcanon that Dwarves come of age at the age of 70. That's my headcanon, too, funnily enough.
So let us use some cross-multiplication to put some things into perspective. I use the age of 21 as a benchmark, since that was the age of majority during Tolkien's youth.
Let's find out, how old some of the characters were in human years during certain events.
Thorin was 1,5 years old, when Frerin was born, and about 4 years old, when Dís was born. He was about 7 years old, when Smaug came, and about 16, when he fought in Azanulbizar and lost grandfather, father and brother and became King. He was about 34, when Fíli was born. He died at 58,5 years old.
Frerin was about 3, when his sister was born, about 6, when the Dragon came, and died at about 14 years old in Azanulbizar.
Dís was 3, when Smaug stole Erebor, and about 12, when her brothers fought in Azanulbizar. She was about 30 years old, when her first son was born, and about 54, when she lost her immediate family during the Battle of the Five Armies.
Fíli was 1,5 years old, when his brother was born, and 6, when his cousin Gimli was born. He died before his 25th birthday.
Kíli was 4,5 years old, when Gimli was born, and died at 23 years old.
At the end of the quest, Gimli was about 18 years old, and probably in the beginning angry that he wasn't allowed to come with them, and then utterly heartbroken.
I can only talk about myself, but I think it speaks volumes, that Gimli had to stay home at 18, while Frerin died at 14 in Azanulbizar. I do wonder, if Thorin every questioned, what the hell his grandfather and the other adults were thinking, especially considering that Frerin wasn't the youngest by far (Dáin was 9 years old and Glóin only 5). If that isn't transgenerational trauma and Glóin breaking the circle, then I don't know what to say. I did the math in preparation for a fic and before that I never realized, how young they were during Azanulbizar and, to be honest, I was appalled.
(Most of the numbers are rounded and no promises that everything is correct.)

Day 4 - Crown
Bilbo stared down into the box, completely at a loss for words. "Well?" came Dis' growling voice from where she stood, shifting from foot to foot. "Will it do?" Thorin stood nearby, glaring at her, at Bilbo, and seemingly at the world in general.
"Do?" the hobbit replied faintly. In the velvet-lined box lay a crown, and oh, such a crown! It was based around the angular designs so beloved by the dwarves, short bladed walls rising about the central space and enameled the same green as the granite of Erebor. Simple enough, though the gold showed through in both decorative lines and seams like gold veins. Shocking in a dwarven crown, though, was the flowers. Wrapping around the base, as though growing on a vine or braided into a wreath, were flowers. Exactly the same ones a hobbit might choose, at that.
As if in a daze, Bilbo touched each of them in turn... hyacinth and oak, speaking of majesty and rank, the gladiolus of strength next to the rosemary of wisdom. Each flower was made in such a way Bilbo was afraid to touch it, fearing to damage the delicate petals. Each time his fingers met cold enameled metal was a slight surprise. Turning it round to the back, Bilbo spotted a red rose beside and acorn, and just like that he was teary.
"Give it back," Thorin said shortly. "He hates it. He's crying, Dis; what have you done?" It was all Bilbo could do to shake his head vehemently, swallowing the thickness in his throat so he could speak.
"It's... beautiful," Bilbo choked out, "I love it." Dis scowled and whirled on Thorin, smacking him in the shoulder, though the hobbit could see the flush on her face. "It's a masterwork. I see why Thorin wanted you to make it, and it will be an honor to wear it, Dis, really."
"Think nothing of it," she grumped, still glaring at Thorin, but the flush on her cheeks grew stronger. "All know my brother is handy with a hammer, but he's useless with a burin and jeweler's tools." By this point Bilbo was learning the social rules of dwarven interaction, so he knew better than to offer any form of direct trade.
Face like a thundercloud, Thorin bustled forward. "Don't feel you need to save her feelings," he muttered. "If you don't like it..."
"Oh Thorin, don't be ridiculous," Bilbo sighed. "It's magnificent and you know it." He didn't mind a bit of jealousy from his husband; dwarves were known for it. But this was his bloody sister! Speaking of dwarven ways, time to test his knowledge of social protocols. "I'll cherish it, and I'm in your debt." With that, the matter was closed according to the dwarves. Later, when Bilbo happened to mention "Dis... I just realized, you never told me what your favorite foods were!" both dwarves seemed to take it as a normal topic of hobbity conversation. Soon she would find out the benefits of a grateful hobbit.

The Shrieking Monster
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ This is a gift for @babe-bombadil as part of the @whiteoliphaunt 2023 exchange. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Happy New Year everyone! 🥳
Relationships: Thorin Oakenshield & Dis & little Fili & Kili Rating: G Warnings: family fluff Author's notes: A story set in the Blue Mountains about Thorin trying to be both a ruler and a good uncle at once. Young Fili and Kili are making it a tad difficult in their own cute way. Special thanks to @naryaflame for your linguistic help with a name :) If you prefer, you can read this fic on AO3.
Khuzdul: Thorinuldûm - Thorin’s Halls, the settlement of the refugees from the Lonely Mountain in the Blue Mountains Amad - mother
1.
It was a perfect morning. Thorin stretched and yawned, settling himself on his favourite chair in the kitchen. The air that whiffed into the dwarven stronghold from the outside felt warm on his cheeks and smelled like spring. As he sipped his morning tea, that strong, aromatic blend Dori bought in Bree, his sister appeared at the threshold. She gave Thorin a bright smile and, seeing her steaming mug on the table, she sat next to him. The lazy silence of the early hours of the day was soon broken by the appearance of two dishevelled pebbles, one with a thatch of golden hair, the other – with his hair as brown as a bear’s fur in winter. After the mandatory morning hugs, Thorin readied breakfast while Dís prepared her sons for the day, humming to herself. Thorin could not stop himself from smiling. His sister was probably already thinking of her visit to the market. She adored going there in the morning, especially on the days when the merchants arrived with new goods – and today was one of those days. Thorin sighed. As much as he wanted her to have a very much needed moment of respite – his sister-sons were quite a handful, to put it mildly – he was painfully aware of what it was going to mean to him. Half a day of having his eyes around his head and his ears pricked up for any unusual noises they may create… or worse – the ominous silence. In the past, there was only a handful of moments when he and Dís realised that the boys went completely silent. It never bode well.
This day, however, started with the pitter-patter of the boys’ bare feet, chatter and laughter, and the clatter of their bowls as they ate their oatmeal. Dís reminded them to behave while she was gone, and left for the market. Fíli seemed very content about this state of things, knowing well by now that staying with his mother’s brother meant visiting various places in these halls, like forges, or assisting Thorin in other exciting ways. It was different with Kíli – his loud wails of protest at being so cruelly abandoned reverberated against the walls of their home. Thorin imagined they must have followed their mother through the corridors of Thorinuldûm for a long while. Her Little Bear, as Dís called him, was still too young to understand the connection between Mommy leaving, and the sudden appearance of candied rhubarb or his favourite cream toffees.
Distracting Kíli from his misery was not easy, but Thorin managed it by offering to take the boys for a new adventure. Their big blue eyes shone as he told them they would be going to the lower levels of the city together. It was a real treat – Kíli had never been there before and Fíli visited them only a handful of times.
Thorin had a mind to visit the Engineers’ Quarter and show the lads around while discussing some technical issues with one of the water engineers. And so they began their adventure. As they descended down the wide stone stairs Kíli stumbled and yawned, so Thorin decided to carry him the rest of the way. Soon Little Bear began snoring in his arms, and Thorin attempted to ignore the fact that his own tunic was becoming gradually soaked through with his nephew’s saliva. He also started suspecting that the moniker “Little Bear” must have surely come from the fact that Kíli seemed to weigh more and more with every step, like a true bear.
“At least he is not crying,” Thorin muttered to himself, and kept on walking. Thank Mahal for silver linings.
As they arrived at their destination, however, the situation got worse. The Engineers’ Quarter was a crowded place that smelled like tar, coal, and burned leather. Not minding the much larger adult dwarves in their soot-stained clothes who carried – or carted – their wares from one place to another, curious Fíli began rushing between them, oblivious of the chaos he was creating. He took a look at the wheelwright’s workshop here, and then he had to see the toolmaker’s booth there; he then insisted on seeing how parchment was being made, and attempted to find the place where they manufactured those shiny cogwheels. If not for his golden mane, Thorin would have lost his nephew at least a couple of times. Brór, the water engineer he had a meeting with, joined Thorin in the chase for the high-spirited boy. Instead of looking at the water supply pipeline blueprints and trying to fix a problem with water pressure, they ended up unwillingly playing a hide-and-run game to the delight of the onlookers. Seeing your own king running back and forth through the great cavern with one giggling pebble strapped to his chest while chasing after the other one must have been very amusing… for anyone but him, Thorin thought with resignation. His resignation grew even more when he noticed Fíli climbing onto a tall work table… and jumping down onto a heap of coal.
When Thorin finally caught the runaway, they were both out of breath. Although it was rather Fíli who caught his uncle – the boy ran into him and clung to his left leg as if a throng of orcs chased him.
Fíli raised his teary-eyed face to Thorin and sobbed out, “A monster wanted to eat meeee…”
“A monster? Here?” Thorin’s brow furrowed.
It took him a while to reassure Fíli that no monster was going to eat him. In turn, Thorin promised to get rid of the said monster that apparently lurked in a nearby chamber, and shrieked at him. He left his nephews in the care of Brór who tried to look solemn, but his twitching lips betrayed him. Thorin grunted and entered the chamber, carefully looking around, adjusting his eyes to the dark surroundings. And then he saw two glowing points of red. And heard the shrieking.
2.
When Thorin returned to Brór, Kíli was fast asleep once again. Leaving Little Bear in the engineer’s care once again, he took Fíli’s hand and led him to the entrance of the dark chamber. When they opened the door, they both heard the continuous shrieking now. His nephew stopped and refused to walk inside, covering his ears and closing his eyes.
“There are no monsters here, Fíli.” Thorin reassured the boy. “See for yourself.”
“Nnoooo…” muttered Fíli, hiding behind his uncle.
“Do not be afraid,” Thorin added. “Nothing will hurt you here. I promise.”
On the bench by the door stood a lantern. It took him a moment to light it. With the lantern in hand, Thorin crossed the threshold and approached the nearest lantern that hung on the wall, and then another, and another. Soon, the whole chamber was bright as day, each lantern giving off a pleasant yellow glow.
“You can come in now,” Thorin smiled encouragingly.
With his ears covered and his eyes set on the shrieking, wobbling entity in the middle of the chamber, Fíli shook his head.
“This is not a monster.” Thorin stepped towards the huge bulbous shape that made so much noise. He placed his hand on the top of the strange shaking thing and added, “This is a washing barrel.”
Fíli blinked and took a good look at it. The two red glowing points did not look like a pair of evil eyes any longer. Those were two ball-shaped lanterns standing on top of the… thing. That shrieking noise now seemed to sound like a couple of cogwheels that needed a bit of oil, and not like a monster’s screech. And the arm that seemed to reach out to grab him before, turned out to be a cast iron lever.
“A… barrel?” Fíli looked at his uncle and took one uncertain step towards him and the strange contraption.
“Correct. A barrel that washes your clothes,” Thorin explained in an even voice and at the same moment the shrieking stopped. “Look, it has just finished the washing cycle. Let me show you how it works. First, you open this hatch, like so… Watch out for the water! These clothes are clean, they only need to be wrung out and dried.”
As he spoke, Fíli slowly started closing the distance between them, his eyes becoming wider and wider.
“... but if you want to wash your clothes,” Thorin continued, “you need to put them inside, here, and add some soap suds. Then you close the hatch, pour some water here, crank this lever a few times, do this, like so, and wait for the washing barrel to finish its work!”
Thorin kept on talking until Fíli seemed to be completely in awe of this new piece of machinery, his fear completely forgotten. He peppered his uncle with tons of questions: how many cogwheels were there, how many times one should crank the lever, what the barrel was made of… and so on, and so forth. When they left the chamber, there was a big smile on the boy’s lips instead of tears.
On their way back home Fíli exclaimed, “This was the bestest adventure ever!”
Thorin thought that sometimes being an uncle happened to be quite rewarding. Even if his tunic was still wet from Kíli’s sleepy drooling.
***
His attitude completely changed less than half an hour later, when his nephews disappeared. Both of them. At once.
Stumbling over several painfully angular wooden toys, Thorin searched the boys’ bedroom. Nothing. He even looked under their beds (twice!), but there was no sign of the boys anywhere. They weren't sitting in the common kitchen nor searching for snacks in the pantry. Nor in Dwalin’s rooms where Kíli liked to play hide-and-scare with the big warrior. There were nowhere to be found – not in the rocking chair by the fireplace, nor even in Balin’s study by that large desk where Fíli liked to play so often. Thorin closed his eyes. If he did not find his nephews before Dís returned from the market, his sister would have Thorin’s own head on a spike. The wrath of dwarf-women was ten times fiercer than the one of dwarf-men. In the case of his little sister, the number was much higher, at least a hundred times. And Thorin would do everything he could to avoid being on the receiving end of it.
There was no time to lose. He recruited Dwalin, Óin, and Halkatla, Balin’s wife, to the task of finding the boys, but they returned empty-handed. No one had seen the boys since their early lunch. Then, they were supposed to take a nap, and Thorin remembered their yawning as they closed the door to their bedroom behind him.
And now they were gone. Kidnapped? — No, impossible, Thorin thought. Dwarves cherished their children like the greatest treasures they were, and no one else was allowed into Thorinuldûm. There were no goblins nor other dangers here either. It felt as if the boys magically disappeared in a puff of smoke. Thorin looked around the wide corridor he stood in, but he found no traces of the missing boys.
“Have you checked all of their favourite places?” Halkatla asked, her red-and-silver braids clinking as she turned her head towards Óin.
“Aye, we did,” he nodded. “Not a sign of them.”
“Those wee rascals! I bet they are up to somethin’.” Dwalin said. “They remind me of us. Remember that time, Thorin, when we were around their age or so, and half of Erebor was lookin’ for us all day long?”
“It would be difficult to forget it,” Thorin admitted. “We wanted to avoid another boring lesson with our tutor…”
“...and instead we went to explore the mines! What a shame we lost our way,” Dwalin grinned and nudged him. “It was fun!”
“Aye, fun on an empty belly. If only you had not forgotten our food,” Thorin replied, relieved that his nephews had a proper meal at least.
“If only ye had not forgotten that map ye were supposed to borrow from your father’s desk,” Dwalin chuckled.
Before Thorin could form an adequate riposte, a mousy-haired dwarf approached him.
“M’lord, Master Brór says that the pipeline is fully functional again,” the messenger bowed.
Thorin gave him a nod of thanks. At least he brought a piece of good news. Master Brór was a skilled engineer, and the way he handled Thorin’s own sister-sons…
“Either way,” Dwalin continued, “we had a real adventure on that day, hadn’t we, Thorin?”
A thought appeared in Thorin’s mind. Master Brór. An adventure.
“There was one place where we have not searched yet,” he turned to his companions.
“I am listening,” Halkatla tilted her head, reminding him of a curious raven.
“The Engineers’ Quarters.”
***
Master Brór was more than happy to receive words of thanks from Thorin in person for fixing that pipeline issue once and for all. Despite Thorin’s hopes, he had not seen Fíli or Kíli since they left the Engineers’ Quarters with their uncle earlier that day. Dwalin muttered a curse under his breath.
“Well, that’s it. I’m goin’ to check the workshops,” the warrior said.
“I’ll take the ones on the left, you take the ones on the right,” Halkatla followed him.
“Let’s go,” Dwalin replied, his voice trailing off as he walked away. “And those wee cave bats would better be there or I swear…”
Master Brór addressed Thorin, “I will spread the word as you requested, my lord. Someone must have seen them, I am certain of it. They could not have simply disappeared.”
Thorin agreed with him and began his own search. The rocks could not have swallowed them whole! Magic was out of the question as well, there had to be a logical solution to this! Thoring pulled at his short beard in frustration. Wandering through the area and looking for any signs of his nephews in places they visited earlier that day, he wondered if Óin had any luck. The healer was waiting at their home in case Fíli and Kíli returned there on their own. Perhaps the three of them were already sitting by the fire, with Óin telling the boys countless amusing stories, while Thorin and his companions were checking every nook and cranny on the lower level, going out of their minds with worry. He raised his head, listening to a peculiar sound and trying to figure out its source. It sounded like… shrieking. It was not at all difficult to recall Fíli’s eyes shining with fear, awe, and then curiosity at the sight of the washing barrel.
Without thinking, Thorin turned his steps towards the chamber that housed the “monster” Fíli had been so afraid of not so long ago.
When Thorin arrived at his destination, the door was ajar. Thorin could hear the shrieking very well, but there were other sounds too. Very familiar sounds.
He took a deep breath and shouted, “Dwalin! I found them!”
***
When Thorin stepped inside the chamber, the sounds became even clearer. One of them he identified as uncontrollable giggling, and the other one, slightly muted, sounded like: “Woooo! Woooo! Wooooo! A carousel! Woooo! Faster, Fíli! Woooo!
Thorin breathed out a sigh of relief only to be struck by a pang of dread a moment later.
Fíli stood by the washing barrel, cranking the lever, grinning from ear to ear, and laughing. Kíli was nowhere to be seen, but his enthusiastic shouts seemed to be coming from inside of the barrel. Inside, not outside. Thorin swallowed; he considered screaming in terror, but something told him that this was most definitely an example of behaviour unworthy of a king. It took him a moment to melt the ball of ice that was forming in his stomach. He closed the distance between him and the barrel in a blink of an eye.
Thank Mahal, the hatch was open. Inside, Kíli sat with his back against a wall of the large metal container inside the machine, surrounded by various articles of laundry, with a happy grin on his face, and a stray sock on top of his head. A wave of relief washed over Thorin.
“Uncle Thorin! Uncle Thorin!” Fíli exclaimed. “We’re playing carousel! Want to jump in?”
Thorin did not.
“It is time to return home, boys,” Thorin simply said, taking Kíli out of the barrel. His clothes were damp and he smelled like those violet flowers Dís liked so much, but other than that, he looked happy, and what’s more important, he was in one piece – just like his older brother.
“But uncle...” Fíli started.
“Your amad will be home soon. Do you not want to see what she bought at the market?”
“A sugar horse? She promised!” The boy recalled his favourite treat.
Holding Kíli firmly against his chest with one arm, Thorin held out his hand to Fíli.
“Let us go and see,” he said with a smile as his nephew’s tiny hand grabbed his.
There would yet be time for scolding and for a conversation about not sneaking out anywhere alone, but for now, the only thing that Thorin wanted was to safely bring his little rascals home.
He only hoped they would manage to reach their halls before Dís returned.
***
When Dís crossed the threshold of their home later in the afternoon, she was greeted by complete silence. Her sons were nowhere to be seen, which was very suspicious. They were always the first ones to run to her and see what she brought them this time. She expected Thorin to welcome her and help her unpack her basket, as usual — but he was not there either. Was this that ominous silence she dreaded so much whenever her boys were executing another of their silly mischiefs? Not really. It seemed as if their home was empty… until she heard a familiar sound coming from a nearby chamber. Dís put the basket on the floor and tiptoed deeper into their halls.
The picture that unfolded before her eyes was the last thing she had expected. Her brother was half sitting, half lying on the sofa, his legs stretched out in front of him, his head resting on the backrest, his eyes closed. Fíli was cuddled up to his uncle’s side, his hair tousled, making her think of a skein of golden yarn. Kíli lay on the opposite side of his uncle, his head resting on Thorin’s lap and turned towards her. He had his thumb in his mouth. Dís could clearly see the darker stain of drool on her brother’s trousers and stifled a giggle.
All three of them were asleep, of course. And all three of them were snoring in perfect unison. If she closed her eyes she could almost imagine that she had a working sawmill in front of her.
This scene was too adorable for Dís to interrupt it, so she decided that she would let her three boys sleep a little longer. There was no harm in a little nap, after all. Besides, she was tired, and there was still some space left on the sofa…As she drifted off to sleep beside them, her last conscious thought was: “Why do all three of them smell like my lavender laundry soap?”

I always like the headcanons that Kili and Fili's father was either of low-class or they are illegitimate, which caused some sort of scandal because I believe that Thorin would be Dis's biggest champion in this scenario.
Not just because he loves his sister dearly, but because at the time, romantic prospects and political alliances weren't looking that great for him either. He was coming to terms with the fact that he's not attracted to dwarves, which to him is an entire identity crisis. He's non-traditional himself, keeps his beard short, and has started realizing he like's clean shaven people.
And asking a dwarf to shave their beard under any circumstances is not acceptable.
But Dis has children? Legitimate, royal, or not, they're HIS heirs now. Like he's sorry for the scandal his nephew's caused, but it's also the answer to his prayers. He needs them to ascend the throne and be in his line, because he cannot turn down another suitor without his father suspecting something is off with him.
Plus he makes their other parent nobility, so problem solved.
No need to marry and produce heirs when Dis did it for him.
Thrain is just frustrated with all of his children, but is glad they've come up with a solution.
And of course years later, when Dis sees Bilbo decked out in consort garbs, she understands part of Thorin's reason for having Kili and Fili as his heirs, because Thrain would never approve of Thorin's relationship with Bilbo.
(Frerin is also GLAD because people were looking to him to produce an heir too, and he unfortunately loves rocks more than he does dwarves)

Reuniting: Part 2
Hi, here is part 2!💖💖💖
Ori: You were close to the Ri family, so when they arrived home, you went to see them. You noticed Ori was covered in scratches and bruises, looking like a mess. You clicked your tongue in disapproval and immediately started caring for him. You puttered around, cleaning his face and treating his wounds. You even scolded him for messing up his braids. All the while, Ori was a blushing mess, and his brother's laughter didn’t help. "I am so proud of you, but you must be more careful. I was worried sick," you said, concern in your eyes as you sat there rebraiding his hair. Once his brothers left the room, Ori gently took your hand away from his hair and gingerly kissed it. "Thank you for taking care of me," he whispered.
Dori: You were shocked when Dori initially decided to leave, and you were equally dismayed when you didn't hear from Dori after months of waiting. No letters, nothing. You were nervous...scared he had died, and the unknown made you stay up all night. You had become numb to everything, so when you heard your name being called in the market, you didn't care. How could you care when the most important person in your life was gone? "Y/N!" you heard the voice call again. You turned and immediately dropped your basket. Standing there with a flower in hand was Dori. You were speechless. Dori walked over and brought you into him. You melted into his hug, letting yourself cry at last.
Nori: Relief washed over you when you heard Nori has returned with this family. You had thought this journey was a horrible idea. You'd argued with him, saying, "Yes, you're going to look out for your brothers, but who's going to look out for you?" "I'm used to this life…relax," he said, leaving without looking back. As you replayed those moments in your mind, there was a knock at the door. You opened it to see Nori. You were silent as you let him in and started the kettle. Unsure how to process his presence, you sat down with your head in your hands. You were lost in thought when you noticed him come over to you. Getting on his knees, he laid his head in your lap, wrapping his arms around your waist. You heard him sniffle and quietly say" "I missed you, darling." You gave in, letting all the pain disappear. You leaned down to stroke his hair, pressing a gentle kiss to his ear as you murmured, “I love you.'"
Thorin: Thorin had sent you letters, had gotten his sister to talk to you, and even hired a team to bring you safely to Erebor. He wanted to welcome his queen, and show you your new home..but he felt small and alone. He was afraid you had changed your mind to marry him, that you felt betrayed by his sudden departure, and he was nervous you would hate him. He was pacing the floors of Erebor when he heard horses outside. He rushed to the entryway, arriving just in time to see you dismount. You rubbed your back from the travel and looked around in awe. When your eyes locked with him, he couldn’t help but choke out a laugh. You smiled and ran to him. Thorin embraced you, soaking you in. He snuggled his face into your hair as your hands snaked under his cloak, clinging to his body. He felt your sobs against him, each one making you hiccup. He let his own tears fall as he smiled, knowing you still loved him.
Fíli: You were in one of the first groups to arrive at Erebor after the battle. You had learned from Kili that Fili was still bedridden. Your stomach dropped at the news, and you asked to see him. When you entered his room, you saw his matted hair, bruised face, and the bandages wrapping his body. You hold back tears as you go to his bedside. You sat down on the edge of the bed and gingerly brought his hand to your face. A quiet sob escaped you as you realized that Fíli was fighting for his life for the second time. You kissed his fingers, thinking of how you couldn't protect him, how you wished you had been there. "Why are you crying?" a voice croaked out. You snapped your head up to see Fíli smiling at you. His blue eyes, filled with joy and happiness, brought a glimmer of hope to your heart. You leaned in and kissed him gently, feeling the warmth of his lips against yours. "I missed you," he murmured, squeezing your hand lightly.
Kíli: Kíli had traveled back home to help the next group of dwarves move to Erebor. He was excited because this group contained you. You two were very close when he lived at home, and he was giddy at the thought of seeing you again. He ran his hands through his hair and adjusted his shirt, trying to make himself look a little presentable. He paced nervously, trying to spot you in the crowd, when he heard his name. "Kíli!" Looking around, he spotted you pushing through the crowd. Tears pricked at his eyes as a big smile spread across your face. He picked you up and hugged you tightly before setting you down. Kili held your face in his hands, his fingers gently grazing your lips. "I love you, Kili." you said softly. Kíli burst into tears, pulling you into a kiss. "I love you too."
Bilbo: Biblo felt utterly exhausted and empty when he arrived home. He dropped his stuff at the door and made his way to the bedroom. The journey had been overwhelming, and all he wanted was to sleep and, for a moment, escape the trauma he had endured. As he began to undress in his bedroom, he noticed a figure moving under the covers. Startled, he jumped back. "Bilbo?" he heard a sleepy voice mumble. Remembering that he had asked you to watch his house, he stood there in silence, unsure how to react. You yawned and stirred awake, rubbing your eyes. "Bilbo, you’re back! Give me a hug," you said with a sleepy smile. Bilbo just stared at you, not sure how to react. He awkwardly stood there, his shirt unbuttoned, his boots off, and his mind raced. He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find the words. Sensing his hesitation, you got out of bed, gently reached for his hand, and said, "Let's get you to bed, hmm?" As you guided him into your embrace, Bilbo felt the weight of the past months lift. He buried his face in your chest, and as soon as he was in your arms, he burst into tears.
Gandalf: Gandalf was known for his spontaneity. He would kiss you and leave on month-long adventures. You didn't mind—knowing they were never dangerous, just business, yet you always hoped for his safe return. But this time was different. You saw this adventure as dangerous, and having him leave without even listening to your warnings frustrated you. So when you were in the garden and heard the familiar humming, a wave of anger and relief washed over you. You looked up from what you were doing and saw him pull up in his cart, a hopeful smile on his lips. "Gandalf," you said sharply. He looked at you, understanding your anger. "I'm sorry I was gone so long," he said softly. "I've replayed this moment in my head a thousand times, and I know I messed up… please, forgive me." You looked at him, and the anger subsided, replaced by overwhelming relief. Without thinking, you ran to him. He caught you in his arms, holding you close.

An Unexpected First Impression
Happiest of birthdays, @elvain!! Thank you so much for being an amazing part of the community, supporter, and most importantly, a kick-ass friend! I appreciate you so much, and hope you have a wonderful day!! 💖
bilbo & tauriel (background bagginshield) | post-botfa | 7.1k
When news of the first caravan from Ered Luin hits the mountain, Bilbo and Tauriel find themselves anxious of meeting the Princess of Erebor. Together they set out to make a great first impression - hopefully.
“I don’t see why you’re so worried.”
“This is your sister. The mother of your nephews, and one of the greatest dwarves I’ve heard about over the past several months. If I don’t make a good impression with—Thorin I’m serious!”
Thorin had fallen into a small fit of laughter, only for a pillow to be thrown at his head.
“I already hear from the dwarves of the Iron Hills that it will be impossible to impress the masses based on my being a hobbit, that doesn’t worry me. What does worry me is impressing your family,” Bilbo sighed, taking a seat on the side of the bed and rubbing his fingers at his temples. “I feel…inadequate most days, and the fact you’ve chosen me to be your spouse still baffles me. Earning Dis’ approval could help me see past some of that.”
A few beats of silence passed, save for the sound of fabrics shifting as Thorin moved across the bed to sit near his intended’s side. “You’re far from inadequate, Kurdûn,” he purred reassuringly, resting his hands on Bilbo’s shoulders. “I hate that you feel this way, Bilbo, and I have every confidence my sister will love you just…”
“Just?” Turning his head to the side to see Thorin there, rubbing at his shoulders from behind and pressing a kiss to his nose, Bilbo couldn’t help but snort, even if he felt more distressed than before.
“Just not as much as I love you.”

Kinktober Day 13: Size Kink- Fili
A/N: The words in Khuzdûl were found from this post. Might have to use it more often 😏
Summary: Fili never realised how much he loved being thrown around until you show him
Word Count: 3,590 words
It had been two years since your life changed forever. You had always been alone, working hard to get anything you needed and not having anyone to help you. When Gandalf found you you were literally fighting for a piece of bread, he saved you that night.
“Please just give it back! I have nothing else!” You begged with your assailant as you jumped to try to catch the bread from over their heads.
“I don’t know, maybe you need to work for it.” The disgusting man had smirked at you.
Snarling at him you kicked his shins and attempted to run away, you may not get your bread back but you wouldn’t be attacked tonight. Unfortunately the scummy man had friends.
“Oh come on, don’t be like that.” One of them said as they held you tight, no way of escape.
“Please! Let me go!” You had shouted.
That’s when Gandalf had appeared, like a guardian spirit sent to protect you.
“Do as she says and let the girl go!” Gandalfs strong booming voice frightening both you and the men.
In their shock they dropped you and you ran to stand behind Gandalfs large cloak, like a child behind a mothers apron. He took you away from that life that night and made sure to keep you safe.
Despite being a young lady, Gandalf ended up adopting you in a way. He gave you new warm clothes, at least three meals a day, safety and love. You became his apprentice and spent your time traveling with him around middle earth.
It was both a relaxing and rewarding new start. Gandalf didn’t have a home to give you but an onslaught of new friends, family and joy was more than enough compensation. You traveled with him and helped him to help others. You were never hungry or scared again.
Gandalf and you were either helping someone or being invited to either celebrate or spend time with someone, that was how you found yourself at Erebor. King Thorin himself had invited you and Gandalf to the anniversary celebration of reclaiming Erebor.
You’d heard tales of the fearsome Smaug in your old life and on your many trips to the Shire had heard the tale from Bilbo himself.
Hearing the story from Gandalf and Bilbo had you excited as Gandalfs cart reached the gates of the Lonely Mountain. Arriving you were greeted by a lovely looking female dwarf and a very important regal looking dwarf man. Getting off the cart Gandalf introduced you to these new friends.
“Y/N this is Thorin Oakenshield, king of Erebor.” Gandalf proudly introduced his friend you’d heard so much about. He smiled at you as you bowed your head in respect.
“And this is his lovely sister, Dis.” Gandalf smiled down at the dwarf woman fondly.
“It’s lovely to meet you, y/n. Now I say we get you inside, a nice bath and a meal will do you good after such a journey. You leave the cart with Gandalf, I have some clothes for you all prepared.” She told you brightly, ushering you away from the two men.
Apparently Dis wasn’t joking when she said she had clothes prepared for you. Gandalf had told her you were coming and in her excitement she had prepared many dresses, skirts, corsets and even pieces of jewellery. Your room was prepared with a very loving woman’s touch, with a warmth that could have made you cry.
Once you were bathed and dressed, Dis escorted you to the dining hall where there were other dwarf women who were just as loving and welcoming as Dis. As you ate your meal you all quickly fell into chatting; it didn’t take long before you were all talking like old friends.
The conversations and company were so calming and lovely but nothing so sweet can last forever. One of your new friends had began to ask you about your travels with Gandalf but were loudly interrupted by a crashing noise coming from the hall.
All the ladies looked at Dis and she looked up in a knowing way.
“Boys!” She called out in an authoritative tone.
Not a moment later three figures came through the doors, one of which being your good friend Bilbo. Before Dis could scould the three of them you were quick to tease Bilbo.
“Bilbo what kind of trouble are you causing now?” You tease him with a cheeky smile as you stand from your seat to walk over to him.
“Well it’s nice to see you too, Miss y/n! But for one I do not cause trouble.” You chuckle at this, “and two it was their doing.” He huffed out pointing to the two young, and you have to admit handsome, dwarves beside him.
“Y/N, I’d like to introduce my sons Kili and Fili. My two usually well behaved sons who know better than to cause trouble and bother Mr. Baggins.” She introduces, eyeing them in a both motherly and scolding way.
“We’re sorry, mother.” They both manage to say in unison.
Dis simply looks at them and points her head towards you as she sits down again.
It was the brunette Kili who first walked over to you and said a cheery and very polite hello, making you smile at his boyish charm. You bow your head and return his smile before he and Bilbo make their way to the table to join the ladies.
“I’m Fili, it’s lovely to meet you Abnâmul (beautiful).” He said charmingly looking up at you, kissing your hand.
You couldn’t help the smile and flush on your face from the attention from the young dwarf.
“Will you be at the celebration tonight?” He asked you smoothly.
“Well if you’re going to be there I might have to make an appearance, Murlarul (tiny love).” You smirk at him teasingly as your finger lightly traces over one of his beard braids as you make your way back to the table.
He can’t help but stare at you in shock and awe as he follows your movements back to the table. He tried so hard not to stare at your breasts as you had looked down at him, he also tried hard not to stare at your ass or hips as you walked back to your seat. Now you as you look to him and wink, he tries extra hard to not focus on the fact that his pants are becoming quite tight.
Fili was usually a dominant man, especially with women, but seeing you stand even just a heads height above him and hearing your teasing and slightly degrading nickname for him, he couldn’t help but want you more. As a dwarf he knew he stood shorter than man and elf but never let that make him feel any less powerful, he was strong and was not ashamed to prove it. With you for the first time however, he wanted nothing more than to be proven just how small he was.
*****
You weren’t sure what was louder, the sound of your heart beating or the sound of the drum. You ran around the fire dancing and laughing with these women who you’d met only hours ago. The party had been going for hours and the smile hadn’t left your face the entire time.
As you spun around everything became a dancing and joyful blur but no matter what you still managed to find the blonde hair prince in the crowd. Fili’s eyes had been on you all night and since you began dancing he hadn’t seemed to move a muscle, just watching you.
Since the moment he saw you at the celebration he couldn’t take his eyes off you, during Thorins speech, while you drank, while you ate, while you laughed. Kili had given up any chance of talking to his brother, seeing him continue to be distracted by you.
Fili managed to move around the party and fake conversation and interest well enough but as he saw you take your shoes off and the song start to speed up there was nothing he could do but watch. The smile on your face was enchanting and the way your body moved and bounded around the fire was hypnotic.
The more you danced the worse it became. Your hair becoming looser in your braids, your breasts seeming to come further and further up your dress and the flush growing on your face and descending down your chest. His pants also became tighter and tighter as you danced faster and faster. He wished for the song to never end, but he also wished it would stop immediately. Fili felt trapped and needed you to come to him.
He thought about you walking over to him so much that when the song finally ended and you did begin to walk to him, he thought you’d heard his loud and demanding mind begging and pleading for you.
Your whole body was flushed, sweat stuck your hair to your forehead and your breath was heavy and laboured. If you weren’t so high on adrenaline and buzzed from the ale running through your system you might have complained about your sore feet. Your body felt alight and much like Fili, your mind couldn’t help but stay on him too.
Once the song had ended you made your way over to where he sat on a bench near the fire, eyes never leaving his and making sure to sway your hips a bit more as you walked. You could see how your dancing affected him and you wanted to tease him even more, have him pulsating with need for you.
He saw you walking towards him, like some kind of magical being. He couldn’t tear his eyes away and when you bit your lip he almost let out a small growl. In that moment he had no shame as his eyes rolled over your form, he was so desperate for you.
Sitting beside him finally, you were still catching your breath as both your eyes continued to stay locked.
“Did you like my dancing, Murlarul (tiny love).” You whisper in his ear as your hand began to caress his thigh.
Having to dip your head slightly to meet his ear, your breasts were just under his chin.
“Yes.” Was all he could stutter out as his eyes closed.
You could hear him whimper as your hand lightly sat on his now very hard cock.
“Seems like you liked my dancing a lot, Murlarul (tiny love). Maybe you can show me how grateful you are for my performance.” You continue to whisper in his ear, now giving him a kiss and a light nip on his neck.
Hearing him moan out at your action, you giggle and stand, offering him your hand as you lead him away from the party and back into the castle. You all but dragged him through the halls as you raced to your room.
Fili loved how you pulled him through the palace, a place he was one day going to rule, but right now he felt nothing like a king. He was your servant and he’d follow you no matter where you lead him to.
Once in your room you quickly closed the door and held him against it, his legs dangling as you held him under his arms to be eye level with you. He didn’t think he could get much harder but the way you were able to lift him, a fully grown dwarf man, as if he was nothing was the hottest thing he’s ever experienced. As you push your body further against him he lets out another moan.
“Mhmmm, you like it when I man handle you, don’t you, Ruydayud (tiny heir)? You want me to be rough with you?” You ask him growling as your hands move from under arms to his thighs, wrapping his legs around your waist, his hands falling to your shoulders.
Now feeling his hard cock pressing against your warm core you moan and let your head fall back as your lip makes its way between your teeth.
“Feels like you love when I’m rough with you.” You chuckle as you begin to grind your pussy into him.
Moaning out, Filis hands reach behind your neck as he buries his face into your shoulder, grind backing into you as he takes in your scent and your skin against his face.
“You want me to fuck you, Murlarul (tiny love)? Want to know how good my pussy feels around you? I bet you wonder how my zanag (breast) feel, how they taste. You haven’t been able to keep your eyes off them and my Kitinirakbeshêk (hips) all night.” You tease him as you push him further up the door, pushing yourself further against him.
He moans out at your words, loving the way you tease him in his own tongue.
“Please, Gamzûna (fierce woman), I need you. You’re so powerful and I need you to use me for your pleasure.” He pleads pathetically, his previous image of a prince, a king or a warrior stripped away.
“Aaaww, Murlarul (tiny love), tonight you’re going to be my little servant and I’ll be your Zabdûna (queen). I’ll take the pleasure from you that I want and you will gladly give it.” You smile at him as you carry him to the bed, laying him down as you straddle his hips.
“Do you want me to use you, Murlarul (tiny love)? Be rough with you? You wanna be a good little servant for me?” You ask him roughly, grinding your clit onto his harden cock.
“Yes! Please, my Zabdûna (queen)! All I want to do is serve you! Please use me! I don’t deserve you, my Zabdûna (queen).” He begs you pathetically, trying so hard to be good and not grind into your movements.
“Good boy.” You growl out as your hand reaches behind his head, grabbing a handful of hair to shove his head back.
His moans from your roughness are quickly stopped as you press a heated kiss to his mouth. Holding him still by the strong grip you have on his hair, your kiss is rough and heated, filled with passion and power.
Breaking the kiss you pull back from Fili, causing him to whine and reach out for you.
“So you don’t want to see me naked then?” You tease, leaning back only so you could start to unlace your corset.
“I’m sorry, my Zabdûna (queen).” He apologises breathless and returning to his trance state from before.
Once again he watches you in fascination as each layer of your clothes is removed. He wants to be good for you, so he just sits there and admires the wonderful view above him. Before long you’re completely naked in front of him and he can’t help but let out a slow moan as his eyes roam over your gorgeous body.
Sitting on top of the future king of Erebor completely naked, you can’t help but admire the beautiful dazed look in his eye. Smiling you begin to make your way down his body, lightly kissing as you went. Once you’re completely off and at his feet, you pull him by his ankles.
Fili gasps out and his eyes bulge at your roughness. Spreading your knees apart you position yourself between his legs, one knee having his boot on your thigh and the other is pressing into his cock, causing him to gasp and moan.
“Now it’s your turn, Murlarul (tiny love). Get you out of your clothes so I can use you, let you fill me up with your cock.” You tell him, roughly moving onto the next shoe.
Gentleness is completely out the window as you remove the rest of his clothes, shoving, pushing and even slapping hands away while you man handle the clothes off of him. The more you shove and push the louder his moans and groans become, loving your comparatively larger form.
Once he’s completely naked before you you return to the space on his lap, lazily rubbing his cock. Though the movements are slow and gentle it still causes him to shake, gasp and moan out.
“I’m gonna use you, my Murlarul (tiny love). I’m gonna ride your cock and you’re gonna take it like the good little servant you are for your Zabdûna (queen). I want to hear how much you love it and how much you need me to play with you. No one can make you feel as good as I can and you’ll love every second of being my little servant.” You taunt him, your hand move faster as your words rile him up even more.
“Tell me how weak you are, Fili, tell me how much you need me to pleasure you because you can’t even do it right.” You smile devilishly down at him before leaning down right next to his ear.
“You like being hurt and tormented by me, don’t you? Future king of Erebor and he falls apart under the rough touch of a human woman.” You chuckle in his ear as nip at his neck.
“Yes, yes! I’m weak, I need your help! Please I need you to fuck my cock! I want you to hurt me and ruin me, my Zabdûna (queen)! Please!” He cries out, tears now coming into his eyes.
“Fuck, you’re pretty when you beg like that.” You taunt him as you slam down onto his cock without warning.
Fili made the loudest shouting moan he has ever made. Head shooting back as he mutters and gasps ‘thank you’, ‘oh fuck’ and ‘by mahal’. Smirking down on him you quickly raise and lower your hips onto him.
“Oh fuck! You fill me up so good, Murlarul (tiny love)! Fuck, you were just made for me to use!” You loudly moan, both hands on his chest now as you grind into him harder and faster.
“Please! Please, my Zabdûna (queen)! Let me touch you, please! I know I am servant not worthy of your touch but I’m begging you!” The handsome dwarf below you screamed out.
Smirking down at him once again, one hand stays on his chest as the other strokes over his cheek, causing his eyes to flutter closed and his breath to catch.
Instead of answering him, you roughly grab onto his wrists, shoving his hands to your hips. Holding his wrists hard, you keep them there as you continue to bounce on his cock.
Fili can’t seem to decide whether to keep his eyes on your gorgeous form or to shut them closed in pleasure. The way your tight walls are squeezing his pleasure out of him, he can’t seem to keep still, unsure how to react to pleasure so great.
His cock filled you perfectly and managed to hit that spot inside you that had you moaning out. It didn’t take much longer before you could feel your release coming on.
“Keep your hands there.” You simply order as your hands move away from his and quickly move to his chest.
Changing your angle you grind down on him harder, chasing your release. You could feel it was so close but you needed a little more.
Taking one of his hands from your hips you took his thumb and put it into his mouth, sucking it seductively, looking deeply into his eyes. Taking it out of your mouth and putting it on your clit, Fili quickly caught on.
“I’m close Murlarul (tiny love), just keep rubbing me like that! Yeesss! Such a good boy!”
It only took a few more moments before that tension inside you snapped and your head flew back, a loud scream leaving your body. As your eyes began to opening again they fell onto the gorgeous prince below you.
Craving the feeling that came with overstimulation and wanting the handsome man below you to cum too, you looked deep into the princes eyes as your hands returned to his chest. Loving the the way his cock moulded your pleasure with your pain as you fought through the stimulation.
“You gonna cum for me too, my good boy?” You ask him, now a little out of breath and a little kinder.
“Y-aah-yes pl-please!” He managed to stutter out, holding onto your hips tightly.
You continue to bounce on him again, speeding up as you can see the pleasure riding in his face. The way your pussy clenched around him, still so sensitive from the previous orgasm, was so perfect around his cock.
It didn’t take long before the prince below you was shouting out his release. His head thrown back and his grip on your hips becoming bruising.
‘Thank you, thank you, thank you’ was all he could mutter as your actions slowed, helping him ride out his release. Once your actions finally stopped, you leaned down, giving him a sweet and gentle kiss on his lips.
Rolling off of him, you both slightly wince as his cock leaves you. Laying beside him you make quick work of pulling him into your arms and holding him. One hand around his waist, while the other rested on his upper thigh, that leg now coming up over your thigh.
“You are one amazing woman.” He lightly pants out, his head resting peacefully on your warm breast.
“And you are a stunning man.” You compliment back with a lightly chuckle, looking down to smile at the man in your arms, kissing his sweet lips gently.

I tried something new. Writing a Middle Earth story about young Fili and Kili and Uncle Thorin. I was inspired by this amazing piece of art by @sugarsu Here is the link to the original post. If you like the artwork, please consider reblogging the original post as well.
In the woods of Ered Luin
Summary: Uncle Thorin is taking care of young Fili and Kili and they visit the woods in the area of Ered Luin, The Blue Mountains. Just a lot of fluff and a somewhat anxious Thorin at times, but we all know the boys, so we can't really blame him 😉
divider created by me
It was still early, but Fili and Kili had already been running around since their eyes had opened to a beautiful day in Ered Luin. Dis and Thorin were sitting at the kitchen table, quietly drinking their coffee and listening to the chatter and laughter of the boys. Thorin usually didn’t have a lot of time, so he valued these family moments very much.
Thorin had offered to spend the day with his little nephews. His dear sister Dis had gratefully accepted the offer and looked forward to having some time to herself. But as soon as Thorin had offered to take the boys, next to excitement a little pang of fear hit him. What mayhem would he encounter this fine day? Nothing ever did not happen, something always did.
Thorin mustered up his courage and got up to fetch the boys. When he saw a heap of pebbles, blankets, pillows and a cat on top of it, he wondered what had happened in the few minutes he had taken his eyes off of them. Shaking his head, he said, 'Come on boys, get your coats, put on your boots.’
The heap of blankets, pillows, pebbles and cat immediately came apart and two pairs of eyes looked at him questioningly. 'Where are we going uncle Thorin?' they asked.
“You’ll see. Now come on, get ready,’ he told them.
Not long after, they entered the forest near the Blue Mountains. It was a beautiful day so far, but the big furry clouds in the distance promised some well deserved rain for the plants and wildlife in the forest. The leaves were softly rustling in the breeze, birds were chirping and singing, insects buzzing. The forest was so full of life, yet so peaceful.
Kili was jumping and running around. There was so much to see. Flowers, plants, little rocks, insects. Thorin smiled. That boy never seemed to run out of energy. Fili was usually much more reserved and quiet. He was walking alongside Thorin, observing the woods, asking him all kinds of questions and Thorin was answering them patiently.
‘What animals will we see today uncle Thorin?’ Fili asked. ‘Will there be moose? And wolves? What about bunnies? Oh look, uncle Thorin, what kind of bird is that?’ his little fingers pointing at a bird with a bright red chest, singing its morning song on one the branches of a big oak tree.
Thorin cringed at the idea of encountering a wolf and the pebbles being in danger, but he didn’t have a lot of time to think about it, for Kili came running up to him.
‘Look uncle Thorin, look what I have!’ he exclaimed enthusiastically. He was holding something in his tiny hands, careful not to drop it. Thorin crouched down. ‘What have you got there little man?’
Kili opened his little hands and a black spider crawled out. ‘You can have it uncle Thorin,’ he said proudly and with a big grin on his face. ‘I fetched it for you.’
Oh dear, how to get himself out of that situation.
‘I think the spider is …,’ he started
‘Ciaran’, Kili said.
‘What?’ Thorin looked at Kili, confused.
‘It’s name is Ciaran,’ Kili explained.
Thorin raised his eyebrows at that and scratched his beard. Wow, he had only just found the spider and it already had a name as if it were part of the family and needed to be taken up in the Durin family tree.
The new addition to the line of Durin was quickly forgotten though, when a rustle of leaves alerted Thorin and he looked in the direction of the sound. The word ‘wolves’ still fresh in his mind, he grabbed Kili and told him to be quiet. He checked on Fili, who was crouching down beside Thorin, imitating his uncle and all three of them looked in the direction of the moving bushes nearby.
A little spooked by Fili’s question about wolves, Thorin wished that he had brought his sword. He held his breath, but he sighed with relief when a deer and a fawn appeared and not a big bad wolf.
‘Oh look uncle Thorin,’ Kili pointed at the fawn, ‘A baby deer! Can we go pet it?’ he asked excitedly.
‘No, Kili,’ Thorin said, ‘They are erm … having breakfast. It’s best to leave them be.’
Kili sighed disappointedly and Thorin chuckled.
‘Come on boys, let’s go about our way. There is a stream not far from here.’
That also got Fili excited and both pebbles ran ahead, their chatter and laughter echoing between the trees. It warmed Thorin 's heart to see them so excited and happy. With a smile on his face, he followed his nephews in the direction of the stream.
The clouds, which had seemed so far away at the start of their walk, now gathered above them, hiding the sun and making the forest a little darker. Drops of rain started to fall and the calming sound of the raindrops falling on the foliage and the fresh smell of wet earth had a calming effect on Thorin. All anxiety about wolves forgotten.
He loved the woods, the sounds, the smells. He filled his lungs with a deep breath of fresh air and for a moment closed his eyes and held his face up to the sky, the fresh rain drops gently falling on his face, his beard and his long, dark hair, which was held back with a beautiful handcrafted clip in the form of a raven.
He stood there, enjoying the moment, but then, at once, snapped back to reality. It had gone quiet. Even though shouting and noise usually didn’t mean anything good when the boys were concerned, neither did absolute silence. He quickened his pace and almost tripped over a boot and another one and another. He followed the trail of boots, picking them up. Apparently, the boys had decided that they no longer needed those.
He approached the stream and saw Fili crouched down, his blue cape over his head and his chin resting in the palm of his hand. Kili was perched on his hands and knees on a flat stone in the stream. They were studying a black bird which was hopping from stone to stone in the stream. The bird paused, sat on a stone and curiously turned its head from side to side, seemingly as curious as the boys. It was altogether a peaceful sight, the dripping sound of the raindrops making little circles in the water, the gently flowing stream, and the boys watching the bird, watching the boys.
Thorin crouched down next to Fili and put his big hand on Fili’s tiny shoulder. So that’s why the little rascals had gone quiet, he thought and smiled.
‘Can we keep him uncle?' Kili asked, breaking the silence. ‘Can we take him home so that we can show him to amad?’
‘No my dear boy, your mother wouldn’t be very happy if you took a bird home. It lives here, in the forest, you know. This is its home. Everyone and everything has its own place in this world and the woods is where the bird belongs. It would be sad if it had to leave his home. You don’t want it to be sad, do you?’
Thorin heard himself say the words and for a moment sadness hit him. His thoughts went to Erebor, his home, where he belonged and which he had been forced to leave and for which he longed with all his heart. One day, he would return to the Lonely Mountain. He was sure of it.
He didn’t have long to think about it, because a frog hopped out of the water, onto the stone chasing off the bird.
Kili giggled and reached for the frog. ‘Can we take …’ he started.
‘No, Kili, we can’t take the frog home either,’ Thorin said sternly, but he had a hard time keeping a straight face. Kili seemed to want to take home every animal and insect he encountered. Thorin was sure that Dis wouldn’t appreciate a zoo in her home.
After a moment, Thorin got up and said, ‘Come on boys, put your boots back on. Let’s go see if amad has something nice to fill your bellies ok? You must be hungry after all these adventures.’
With that, the frog was all about forgotten, the boys hurried to put their boots on and off they went with Thorin in tow. Thorin was quietly enjoying the walk back home, while Kili and Fili chased after butterflies, found treasures - read 'stones' - along the way, chased each other and left Thorin wondering if he, Frerin and Dis had ever had the same amount of energy as these two boys.
The rain had stopped, the sun had broken through the clouds, its rays illuminating the way home and he couldn’t have been more relaxed.
By the time they got home, Thorin was quite proud of himself that so far, the day had passed without any incidents and mayhem under his supervision. He was grateful for the family time, but also, deep down, grateful to be handing them back over to their mother, his dear sister, whom he admired more and more, every time he looked after the boys. But also deep down, he longed for another day with his nephews, whom he loved as if they were his own sons.

Dance at a Feast
Happy New Year everyone! The good thing about having two weeks off from work is that I am able to get some writing done! I'm trying to get drafts done for a lot of fics I have plans for, so I can have some things to post when I go back to work.
Also, please feel free to make requests! I have a list of prompts which is linked below, and a master list that has the fandoms and characters I write for. If there is someone and a something not listed that would like to make a request for, feel free to and I will let you know if I know enough about it to write for it. Also feel free to make requests for this verse!
This is another part in the Covered in Steam verse. A fluffy piece between female reader and Thorin, it is set after Covered in Steam.
Warnings: Talks of a sexual nature. Dain being disrespectful - nothing insane just not acknowledging the reader as the Queen *yes I think this should be a warning*
Tag list: @catt-leya @bunson-burner

Covered in Steam
You fiddled with the sleeves of your dress tugging them down before pulling them back up and then down again. You glanced at the mirror in Thorin’s, no your chamber you hadn’t slept in the chamber that was yours since that night. You wore a beautiful gown in the colours of the family of Durin, the blue almost matched that of your Kings eyes. Your hair had been left down showcasing the braids and beads that Thorin wove into it every morning. You were nervous, this was the first feast since you were behaving as a true married couple. And you didn’t want to do anything that would embarrass Thorin. Which was why you were concerned about the dress, the shoulders of the dress could sit normally or be pulled down to expose your shoulders and collarbones, and the plunging neckline was lower than what you normally wore but it worked the best with the necklace Thorin had gifted you with on the day you got married, and you hadn’t worn it yet.
“Sister?” you heard Dis’ voice call out from the sitting room next to the bedroom where Thorin received any guests that came to your chambers.
“In here!” you called back, shifting the bodice of the dress a little, unsure about the gauzy material that ran in panels down your ribs before forming into the princess style skirt.
“Oh my,” Dis whispered as she laid eyes on you. “I think you may very well kill my brother in that dress.”
“Is it too much?” you spun around eyes wide with concern as you smoothed down the billowing skirts. “It’s a normal style in my homeland but I know it isn’t overly common amongst the women here.”
“You look stunning my Queen,” Dis assured you as she came to stand in-front of you grabbing your hands. “You do not need to pretend as if the culture and norms of your homeland do not exist, my brother would not expect you to only dress as a dwarven woman.”
“I know he has told me as such, but I just don’t want to…embarrass him in-front of his court, especially since everything between us is still so new,” you nibbled your lower lip before yelping a little as Dis pinched your arm.
“You’ll ruin the makeup,”
“Can’t have that can I?” you laughed, your nerves slowly leaving you in your sister in laws presence. Something she has always managed to do.
“Now, come on,” Dis tugged on you before stopping for a moment. “Wait, you are missing something.” She let go of your hand to go back to your dressing table and lifted the small crown from its resting place to put it on your head. “There.”
You lifted your hand to gently touch the crown as Dis went back to tugging you out of your rooms and towards the main banquet hall. You were still not use to wearing a crown, as you and Thorin both only tended to wear them when you absolutely had to. Such as at a feast welcoming Thorin’s cousin Dain. You could hear the celebrations before the door even came into view, you smiled. Dwarrow truly knew how to throw a feast and celebration.
“Introducing her Highness Princess Dis and her Royal Majesty Queen y/n,” the herald at the doorway announced both you and Dis causing the court to become quiet as Thorin stood from his chair and walked around the table that housed the royals. His eyes burned with a fire as he took in your appearance, you could feel the eyes of every dwarf on you as the king walked towards you and Dis quickly left your side to greet her sons. You could only guess the dwarf sitting on Thorin’s left was his cousin Dain, Lord of the Iron Hills. You briefly caught his eyes only to quickly break eye contact and focus on your husband. Dain had the same colour eyes as Thorin only his were cold and calculating, and you did not like the way he looked at you.
“My wife,” Thorin rumbled, this voice bouncing around the room. “You are a vision.”
You dropped into a small curtsy as your body warmed, your eyes locking onto his as you lifted your head back up. Thorin stepped closer to you to place a kiss upon your lips before gently taking your hand, guiding you to stand in-front of his cousin, who remained seated.
“Cousin, my wife, your Queen,” Thorin’s voice was hard as stone as he noticed the disrespect being shown to you. “Greet her.” Dain’s eyes narrowed before a friendly mask fell over his face as he stood and bowed low to you.
“It’s an honour to finally meet you, Your Majesty,” Dain’s voice didn’t sound overly pleased and you were concerned but you nodded back at him regardless, knowing now was not the time to raise concerns.
“And it is lovely to finally meet you Lord Dain, Thorin has spoken highly of you,” you responded voice soft, your eyes looking at a point over his shoulder as you didn’t want to look into his cold eyes again.
“Come my Queen, you must be hungry,” Thorin’s arm wrapped around your waist and led you away. You smiled gratefully up at Thorin raising on your toes to press your lips to his cheek in thanks. His arm squeezed you in kind, his eyes full of love as he stared down at you.
“Hello aunty mine,” Kili smiled up at you as you walked past. You grinned down at him, unable to resist messing up his hair. Kili pouted up at you as he tried to fix his hair, you dropped a kiss on his head in apology as you did the same to Fili as you walked past. Dis’s sons had been as welcoming as she had when you arrived, always smiling and including you, you were forever grateful for those three Durin’s.
“Aunty,” Fili smiled as you sat down beside him, Dis was in the middle of her two sons, who leaned around her oldest to smile at you. “Don’t worry about Dain. He’s a traditionalist but Uncle doesn’t pay any mind to those old dwarves.” Fili had lowered his voice and leant close to your side. His eyes, the same shade as his uncle was soft and kind as he looked at you. Your heart squeezed at his words.
“Thank you Fili,” you whispered back. “I will keep that in mind.”
“But, should he or any other dwarf look to cause you problems promise that you will let myself, my mother, Kili, Dwalin or Balin know. Of course Thorin should be your first choice but if you cannot find him, you also have us on your side,” Fili added squeezing your arm before letting go and focusing on his food.
You could hear the conversations going on around you as you picked at your food. You never ate much in-front of large crowds, but would always find a plate of food waiting for you in your chambers after a feast. You had always wondered who ensured the staff left it but never thought to investigate it too much.
“Are you alright love?” Thorin asked removing himself from the conversation with Dain to check on you. He had picked up on your added nerves after meeting Dain and wanted to do everything he could to be sure that you were fine.
“I am,” you nodded turning to give Thorin a smile but you could tell from the look on his face that he didn’t buy it. He leaned close enough to whisper into your ear.
“If I had known Dain would show such disrespect to my wife I would never had invited him here,” Thorin promised you. “Tell me at once if he ever does so again or makes you uncomfortable at all. Erebor if your home and you are the Queen.”
“You Durin’s and your need to protect,” you teased nudging your nose against his.
“Oh?”
“Fili just gave me a list of all the dwarves I can tell if Dain or any other dwarf causes me problems,” you explained. “It was pretty much you four and Dwalin and Balin.”
“Hmm,” Thorin hummed his eyes full of pride at your words. “Well, us Durin’s are fiercely protective of those we care about. And once we care for someone it is next to impossible to get rid of us. So I’m afraid my heart, you are stuck with me, and my sister and nephews.”
“Such an imposition that,” you laughed.
“You weren’t thinking I was an imposition this morning,” Thorin growled his eyes darkening as heat filled them. “With my tongue between your thighs.”
“Thorin,” you gasped in shock. “You can’t say things like that here.”
“I am the King,” Thorin shrugged kissing your lips and whispering his next words into your mouth. “I can say such things when I please. And no-one can hear us.”
You playfully glared at him about to say something back when Dain interrupted leaning around Thorin to gain his attention again, sending you a cold look before placing the mask back in place before Thorin could see. Thorin kissed you once more rounding on his cousin, you could hear the harshness in his tone as he spoke in dwarvish. You sipped at your wine, as music started to play, as it always does at a Dwarven feast. The boys beside you quickly stood up looking to find some partners to dance with, Kili raced off instantly looking for Ori. Fili however, hesitated, Dis had left seeking out Balin to discuss some matters.
“My Queen,” Fili said, his voice loud and pointed as he bowed low at his waist holding a hand out. “May I have a dance?”
You grinned up at Fili, standing up and reaching to take his hand but you were pulled tightly against a hard chest. Thorin’s scent surrounding you. Fili smirked, his eyes playfully challenging his uncle, as he continued to wait on your hand.
“My wife will be dancing with me first, nephew,” Thorin’s voice rumbled.
“I think Her Majesty can make that decision, Uncle,” Fili grinned.
“I am honoured Prince Fili,” you grinned, trying to keep your voice regal. “However, I would think you would prefer to seek out someone else to dance…and even maybe court?”
Fili’s face flushed bright red his eyes automatically going towards a dwarven woman that was standing off to the side near Bofur. The look in his eyes was similar to how Thorin would look at you and you knew that maybe you and Dis could do a little pushing.
“I mean…I can’t…” Fili stuttered in an uncommon show of nerves.
“Yes you can nephew,” you encouraged him stepping a little out of the circle of Thorin’s arms but he kept a hold of your hips. “I have seen that young woman look at you, in the same manner you look at her. You are a Durin, take the courage that all you Durin’s seem to possess in enough abundance to take on a Dragon and ask her to dance.”
You felt Thorin’s hands squeeze your hips and his lips pressed into your neck, you could feel the smile that tugged at them. You reached out to squeeze Fili’s hands, forcing his eyes back to yours. The red of his face had calmed down to a light pink.
“Right, yes, true,” Fili nodded.
“You are my heir Fili,” Thorin added reaching out to pat him on the shoulder. “You can do this.”
Fili nodded once more before he turned around and strode towards the woman in question. He forced the Durin swagger into his steps as the two of you watched him in amusement. Thorin tugged you close again turning you around, you smiled up at him wrapping your arms around his neck.
“So, that dance?” you asked. “Better make good.”
“Come along then,” Thorin smirked. Pushing you backwards, you giggled turning around and taking hold of his hand and pulling him onto the space in the middle of the room that was used for dancing.
Thorin spun you around before tugging you close, wrapping his right arm around your waist and grabbing your right hand with his left, you placed your left hand on his shoulder. You allowed him to led you around the floor trusting him to keep you from backing into anyone. The tune was a fast past one, your skirt flying out every time he spun you around quickly. He grabbed both of your hips and lifted you up and turning the two of you before putting you back down and grabbing hold of your hand again to lead you around.
You giggled as your dress managed to hit Kili and Ori on your way past them, you threw an apology over Thorin’s shoulder causing the two young Dwarves to laugh. Thorin couldn’t take his eyes off of you, your eyes were bright with happiness and you had not stopped laughing and smiling since Fili had first asked you for a dance. Your face was flush from your wine and from the dancing, you had danced to two fast paced songs before a slow paced song started to play. Thorin wrapped both his arms around your waist pulling you as close to him as he could get you. You looped your arms around his neck, using one of your hands to tilt his head down, he grinned as he rested his forehead against yours and swayed the two of you in time with music.
“You truly do look beautiful tonight, my Lady,” Thorin whispered. “Seeing you in my colours, I wish to take you from this hall and feast on something else entirely.”
“My King, was this morning and last night not enough?” you asked, stroking the back of his neck, his thick hair covering your movements.
“I will never have enough of you,” Thorin answered. “I will never have enough of your taste, of your body, of you. I will always want you in my arms.”

The dreams had begun one night in the middle of winter, when the stone hallways of Erebor were bitter cold. And you woke in the witching hours, dripping in sweat, despite having wrapped yourself up tightly in the furs. The figure had visited you from the shadows, beckoning you to his palace in which all light had fled from. His voice stirred something from deep within your core, a need and a desire of which you have never felt before.
As you opened your eyes, the pulsing between your legs becoming duller, you reached for a glass of water which was beside your bed. Your hand fumbled around, almost knocking the candle off the wooden surface. Your breathing was still hitched, and your heart was racing.
The figure’s voice echoed in your mind, although his words seem to have become jumbled. All you could keep hold of was the feel of velvet and delectable pleasure which had raged through you upon hearing the voice.
***
At breakfast, which you shared with Dis, King Thorin’s younger sister, you were quiet. Her blue eyes searched for any hint as to if you were ill, or perhaps were in a melancholy mood. Humans had always been unusual beings, she thought. Not as forthright as Dwarves. But still, she loved you like family, welcoming you to Erebor when you had arrived after journeying with Thorin and his Company to re-claim the kingdom of Erebor. In fact, your very existence to everyone was a mystery. You had claimed to have come from a land only known as ‘Earth’, having appeared out on the road very suddenly.
“We have visitors from Dale this morning, and Thorin has asked we be present to welcome them,” Dis announced. Her eyes were still watching you, as you pushed a piece of bread around your plate, not having had the appetite to eat it, or any of the two boiled eggs that had been prepared for you.
Something about the dream had felt so real, and you couldn’t shake the way it had burrowed into your mind.
“Are you alright?” Dis asked, her voice sharp. “You are extremely distracted this morning. Are you ill?”
“No,” you said softly, straightening your back. “I’m sorry. I had a rough night; bad dreams and didn’t sleep well.”
***
Meanwhile, Thorin was sat in his private study. For the last week and all he had thought about was the question that he wished to raise with you. For most of the time that Thorin had known you, he had been in love with you. At first, he felt fear at the fact that his heart was yearning for one who was not of his race and from another world entirely. The idea that you were merely a novelty had crossed his mind early on, but had soon been discarded. The way his chest compressed when he saw you, and his stomach clenched, and all he could do was smile when your gaze reached him. That said it all. You were always in his thoughts. When Erebor had been close to attack from orcs at the Battle of Five Armies, and Thorin had succumb to madness, his mind was still focused on you. He wanted the gold so he could be worthy of you.
Thorin stood from his desk, straightened his robe and picked up his crown, placing it against his raven locks, which were touched with silver streaks. Even the crown upon his head didn’t feel enough for you.
A gentle knock at Thorin’s door broke him from his reverie. “Yes, come!” he called.
Dis slipped into the room and approached her brother, offering him a smile. She said your name and watched as Thorin’s head immediately turned to face her. “I’m worried about her. At breakfast she was quiet, too quiet. Her mind was away elsewhere, and while she denied being ill and blamed her mood on a bad night sleep, I’m not convinced. Have you spoken with her about your proposal?”
A doubt had snuck into Thorin’s heart at Dis’ words. “I wished to ask her to dinner tonight and pose the question, but to hear that she is like this, should I?”
“Maybe such a dinner will raise her spirits.”
Thorin sighed and closed his eyes.
“You doubt her love for you, don’t you?” Dis asked.
“How can I be so certain of it?”
“I see the way she looks as you, Thorin. There is no denying that.”
“I do not feel even this crown is enough for her,” Thorin said, his voice becoming tinged with pain and sadness.
Dis sat down on the opposite side of the desk. “You overcame the self-doubt of re-claiming Erebor from Smaug. How can you not overcome this? She is but one person…”
“Who holds my heart, Dis,” Thorin sighed. “I do not know if I could face rejection from her. If there is part of me that is cowardly, it is this. I would rather fight a thousand orcs than have to declare my love to her, only for it to be unrequited.”
***
Once the visitors from Dale had dispersed to the guest wing, you remained in your seat at the council table. The sight of Thorin had pulled you from the dreams. He raised the flutter in your stomach, the heat in your chest and a smile upon your lips.
Thorin glanced across at you and met your gaze. Breath caught in his throat at the sight of your smile, and he reciprocated that smile.
Dis smirked to herself from her seat beside you. In her mind, the two of you were complete idiots. The self-doubt was astounding, and it was the one thing that made you so alike, along with your loyalty and kindness. However, that was where your similarities ended.
One by one, everyone left the room, leaving only you and Thorin behind.
You got up, ready to leave, when he ushered you back. “May I have a moment with you?” he asked.
Thorin’s heart was pounding, but he was going to do this one way or the other. He would overcome the cowardice that was taking hold of him.
You stepped closer to him, and couldn’t help but smile again. He was incredibly handsome, and you had once dreamed of what his kiss would feel like, of what it would feel like to be one with him, and carry his child. This future you yearned for so ardently. But to be married to a king? It was a ridiculous notion.
“W…would you have dinner with me tonight?” Thorin asked.
This was the first time you had ever heard him stumble over his words. You could sense the uncertainty in his voice and posture. His blue eyes had now dropped to the floor. Reassurance was what he needed in those moments, to show him that you cared for him above everyone else. You took his hand in yours. “I would be honoured, my king,” you said.
Thorin’s gaze then locked with yours and he smiled, on the brink of a chuckle, as if relieved.
There were unsaid words lingering between you both, and the electricity was gathering momentum. Something had to break. “What troubles you?” you asked. On impulse, your free hand reached up and brushed a stray hair from his face. Your other hand was still in his.
“I…I have wanted you for so long,” Thorin whispered. His eyes were ablaze with fear and doubt. “You consume me.”
Sighing, you pressed your forehead to his. “I am not worthy of you, my king. I never was.”
Thorin reached up and removed the crown from his head, placing it down on the table, and then cupped your cheeks. His gaze sank into yours, and then the two of you kissed.
***
“I would raise you up!” the figure snarled from your peripheral vision.
It was the witching hour once more and your dreams had pulled you back to the palace of shadows. The voice now had audible words.
“I will raise you up as a queen!” the voice came again. “He will always treat you as being beneath him.”
You swept through the dark corridors, chasing the voice. The only light was a fire burning in the distance, beckoning you on.
“He took off his crown for you. I would give you a crown, my queen. I would give you the world to do with as you please. Come to me.”
Heat furled in your stomach, spreading outward, causing that pulsing to begin again at the juncture of your thighs. “Where are you?” you called.
You entered a room where the back wall was brightly lit by the fire burning opposite. A huge bed dominated the centre of the room, filled with furs and black velvet sheets. A musky and earthy scent filled the room, and immediately you sensed eyes watching you.
Fear gripped you, mingled with arousal. And suddenly you felt a hand rest on your shoulder and then move downward, ghosting over your breasts, which were now bare. Your whole body was naked, open to whoever this creature was. The hand had long, black claws and the skin was crimson. The creature’s touch caused intense heat to spark beneath your skin as it kept moving, towards your navel. Electricity was surging around you and the pulsing got more intense, making a deep groan to erupt from you.
“He will never let you ascend to the place you should be,” the voice came again. The creature’s breath was hot on your neck. You felt something wet and hot slip up your neck to the point at which your earlobe connected to your cheek. “That is not love. I would worship you as my queen and my mate. Give you everything you’ve ever wanted; give you power.”
Your eyes shot open and you gasped. Realisation hit you: you were in bed, in Erebor. Next to the bed, on your table, was a red rose which Thorin had left you. The red petals reminded you of the creature’s skin, and it made you shiver.
Since your kiss with Thorin after the council meeting, and you had had dinner with him. The two of you shared in your memories of the quest, laughing and holding hands across the table. Then Thorin had shared a glass of wine with you, his silver blue eyes gazing at you in adoration and disbelief that you felt the same way as he. The two of you had walked slowly down the hallway, with your arm curled around his. “Goodnight, my love,” he whispered to you, placing a gentle kiss on your lips. A blush flourished on his cheeks as you moved away.
In all the time you had known Thorin and you had always been attracted to him; his voice, eyes, presence. Everything about him made your chest ache, and cause a yearning for a deeper connection. Your heart was frantically beating, wanting him.
And now you were sat upon the edge of your bed, thinking of the caresses of a creature of the shadows. Whenever you were in the company of Thorin, all memory of the creature disappeared. And now that you were thinking upon the creature, Thorin’s face had faded.
***
After you had dressed, a knock came to your door.
You walked to the door and as you opened it, a huge smile curled your lips upward at the sight of Thorin.
The king reached for you, twirling you around, as if dancing. “I have requested breakfast be brought for us,” he said softly, pulling you in close and winding his arm around your waist.
You leaned to him and kissed him, feeling him immediately respond. Your tongues met in a pent up frustration that the two of you had held at bay for many months. All you could feel was sheer joy, delight and love radiating from your chest.
Thorin’s hands cupped your cheeks, his fingers caressing downward towards your jaw, tickling your earlobes.
A sudden flash of memory shot into your mind. The creature’s tongue leaving a trail of wet heat down your neck. The flash of memory made you jump.
“Are you alright?” Thorin asked, his eyes growing concerned.
For the first time and the creature was breaking through into your time with Thorin, beckoning you into the shadows. “Yes, I’m sorry,” you replied, holding your head in shame and disgust.
Thorin rested his finger against your chin and lifted your gaze to meet his. “You are not alright, dear one. Dis told me yesterday that you had not slept well. What bothers you? All of your cares and worries are also mine.”
“You wouldn’t understand, Thorin,” you replied, stepping back from him.
“Why do you feel I would not?” he snapped.
You sighed and closed your eyes, knowing you had deeply offended him.
I will raise you up. I will give you power beyond your wildest imaginations.
The voice was so real, yet still felt distant. It curled around you, making that arousal snake its way down your spine and between your legs. Your breathing sped up and you sat back down on the edge of the bed. “I can’t,” you gasped.
Thorin’s eyes were dark in anger and rejection, your words hitting him square in the chest so painfully. “If you cannot bare your all to me as I would do for you, then…”
“Thorin,” you said again. “Please. Don’t put this between us.”
“No, you are putting it between us.”
You could see the pain and despair sitting in his eyes, making his shoulders droop in defeat. With a sigh, you began to speak again. “I’ve been having dreams. A demonic creature is somehow connected to me and won’t leave me alone.”
Thorin fell to his knee in front of you and cupped your cheek again. “My love? Look at me.”
You looked into those eyes you loved so dearly.
“The creature cannot hurt you,” he said. “I promise you that while I breathe, I will always protect you.”
Once your breakfast had arrived, you began to eat, temporarily forgetting the creature. Thorin was sat in a chair beside your bed as you remained on the edge of your bed. He watched you eat and as you ate the last mouthful, he reached into the inside pocket of his robe, pulling out a velvet pouch.
“I know that our customs are different, but I wish to indulge the Dwarf custom and ask for your hand in courtship, as is right. And with that, I offer you this ring,” he said, taking a gold ring from the velvet bag.
You looked at the bright gold band which was adorned with amethyst stones, seven of them forming a circle in the gold. “You remembered when I told you that purple is my favourite colour,” you whispered.
Thorin smiled, and that blush rose on his cheeks again. He reached for your hand and slipped the gold band onto your ring finger on your right hand, knowing the left would be kept for engagement and marriage, as was your custom.
***
Thorin wished you a goodnight, and as he did, he kissed your cheek. “If you have any unwelcome dreams again, my love, please come to my chambers.”
The two of you parted ways and you placed another red rose in a vase on your bedside table.
My queen.
The voice swept around you again. This time it was more powerful, sounding as though it were in the room with you.
Sleep and come to me.
You lost all control and slipped away, all consciousness leaving you. But as your conscious mind drifted away, your body rose from the bed and stepped toward the full length mirror at the bottom of your bed. Your eyes remained closed, yet your body knew where to tread. The surface of the mirror looked like silver water, and with one step, you disappeared into it.
***
Were you awake or still dreaming? Everything around you was dark, with only the light from the end of a hallway. You blinked hard and sat up. Everything around you felt so real; the cold surface of the stone beneath your legs and the chatter that you could hear. Distant voices whispered.
She is here. Finally she is here. The Lord of Darkness has finally found his mate and one true queen.
Darkness? Was that his name? The red creature.
You got to your feet and looked around, everything still so dark. Your heart was thumping hard in your chest, in both fear and anticipation. The glow of light beckoned you down the hallway, just as it had in your dream.
As you reached the end of the hallway, you turned the corner and found yourself in a large room with a bed in the centre, and opposite was an open fire. Everything was as it was in your dream the night before. Even the black velvet sheets and furs on the bed.
Suddenly you sensed a presence behind you and for a few seconds you were glued to the spot in fear.
“My queen,” a voice came. That deep, velvet voice. Just the sound of it made liquid fire burn in your belly.
A hand brushed around your neck and that all too familiar scent of musk and earth hit your nose. Even his smell was beckoning you, pulling at your very core, that most primal part of you.
Slowly you turned, and there before you was a creature who towered above you. His skin was crimson, with bright yellow eyes gazing at you in lust and amusement. His face was pointed, with angular features. Huge, black horns grew from his head. His upper torso was muscular, being the body of a man. As your gaze slipped down, you saw that from his waist down was the body of what appeared to be a goat. His waist and legs were covered in black fur. Considering that his form was one that would normally make terror rise in those that looked upon it, you felt fascinated.
“You are not disappointed by what you see, my lady?” Darkness asked.
Your gaze finally met his, and you felt an intense shiver race down the entirety of your body.
Darkness reached for you and picked up your hand, placing it against his chest. It was red hot. He closed his eyes upon your touch. “I have yearned for touch for centuries.” His voice was on the edge of a groan.
You gasped at the feel of him and the pleasure which radiated from his voice. Your hand slipped up his chest, toward his neck. Suddenly Darkness grabbed your hips and lifted you, and on instinct, you locked your legs around his waist.
He walked with you to the bed, his gaze never leaving yours. And as he stopped, hovering above the bed, he took your lips against his. The kiss was hot, heavy, demanding. His long tongue caressed the inside of your mouth, beckoning you forth.
As you parted from the kiss, he chuckled at you. “I will give you everything you’ve ever wanted. Pleasure beyond anything you have ever felt, power, riches. Ask and it will be yours. Never would I keep a crown from you as he does. He would see you without that power.”
Thorin. His face was so far away again, and you shook your head, trying to bring his handsome face back to the forefront of your memory but he would not come. “He knows that I do not feel worthy of him.”
“You are worthy of everything,” Darkness snarled. He lowered you to the edge of the bed and then reached for two glasses which were on a nearby table, pouring two glasses of wine. “The Dwarf would happily keep you beneath him to maintain his own ego.”
“You don’t know Thorin like I do,” you shot back.
“He thinks he can buy you with jewels.”
“And you can buy me with promises of pleasure and power.”
Darkness growled, his eyes locked on your ring. “Remove that ring and be mine; I would love you, worship you.”
You sipped the wine, feeling your body begin to scream for him once again. The intensity of his need of you, and his desperation.
You rose to your feet, placed the glass down on the table and then approached Darkness who had seated himself on the edge of the bed. For a couple of seconds, you studied his face. It was somehow handsome to you, in a way that you couldn’t fathom. You slid into his lap, straddling him and kissed him again. Within seconds and he was sucking your neck, his hands caressing your breasts, and the tips of his claws brushing over the fabric of your clothing.
Darkness’ breath was rising, that animal side of him also breaking out. His hands ripped your clothes and flung them to the far side of the room. “I will make you feel things you have never felt before,” he moaned against you as you rose up onto your knees, still resting on his thighs. Your arms were tight around is neck. “Fuck you until you are numb.”
The words spurred you on and you kissed him again, hard and ferocious. He picked you up in his muscular arms and slipped you around, lowering you to the bed so he was now in control.
Darkness kissed down your body, his long tongue sliding across your flesh. He could taste the first hints of sweat on you, and he revelled in the salty flavour. Your breasts, down your stomach and into the space between your thighs.
“I have never known someone so wanton,” Darkness grinned. “I can smell you. The intensity of it is enough to send me to the brink. And, even better, you are ovulating. I will keep going until you bear my child, no matter how long it takes. If I have to keep you locked in here for days, so be it. I may even call the goblins in to watch.”
The words made your whole head swarm with a haze of euphoria. The pulsing between your legs was so intense now that you locked your legs around his waist again, dragging him in closer.
Darkness laced his hand in yours and eased your ring from your finger. It fell to the stone floor and rolled away. “I will bring you so much more than he could!” Darkness chuckled.
***
Thorin had remained awake that night, unable to rest at the thought of you being haunted by the demon creature. All he could think of was holding you to his chest, fighting away all of those disturbing night visions.
He rose from his bed, pulling a robe on and began his walk down the main hallway toward your chamber. Torches lit his way and as he got to your room, he opened the door, knowing you would probably be asleep. However, as he trailed the darkness, following the gentle glow of the candle at your bedside, he saw you were nowhere to be seen.
Terror rose in his chest at the thought of you having disappeared from him. He gazed around the room, noticing a blue glow coming from the mirror at the end of your bed. The surface was moving, reminding him of liquid silver.
Thorin stepped towards the mirror, confused and shocked.
***
Your whole body was on fire and you writhed on the bed as Darkness’ hands roamed you. The tips of his claws gently scratched your breasts and stomach, drawing a loud groan from you.
“Give yourself to me and seal it, be my mate and queen,” Darkness said, his hot breath wafting across your belly.
You groaned again and arched off the bed, your body needing him.
Darkness may have held the rationale of humans, but he was more animal. That need to possess you and impregnate you was becoming unbearable, and the more you groaned and writhed, the closer he was to forcing himself upon you. His member had risen and was visible through his thick, black fur.
“Will you accept me?” he asked, his tongue licking your earlobe. The palm of his hand was cupping the mound at the juncture of your thighs, and his fingers tickled, circling the aroused flesh.
All you could do was groan again. Your hands were gripping the sheets so tight that it felt you were about to fall off the knife’s edge there and then, and completely succumb. An image flashed through your mind, a picture of you standing before a mirror, clothed entirely in black. Beneath your dress was a huge belly, showing your ability to conceive Darkness’ child. The reflection you only just recognised as yourself; your eyes were completely black, overtaken by evil and the desire for power. And there, behind your reflection, was Thorin. “My love?” he whispered, his voice cracking.
“THORIN!’ you screamed suddenly, jerking away from Darkness.
Darkness growled, his whole face turning livid. “Useless bitch!” he shouted. His hand swung outwards and slapped your face, knocking you off the bed.
Terror took over as you scrambled backwards, edging away from him as he circled the bed.
“You DARE raise a hand to her!” a voice came from the room’s entrance.
Your head snapped in the direction of the voice. It was Thorin. He must have been able to slip through the mirror and had followed the corridor.
Darkness chuckled. “I’m going to enjoy this, Dwarf. I’ll make her watch every single moment of me ripping your heart out of your chest. Then I’ll eat it in front of her.”
Thorin’s face remained darkened by anger and hatred towards this filthy beast before him. He looked down to you, and in those moments, the hatred melted as he smiled at you. “Leave when you can,” he told you. “Make for the corridor.” Then his silver blue eyes turned back to the demon who was slowly approaching him.
“You think you can defeat me?” Darkness laughed. “I have lived for millennia, feeding off the pain, hate and need for pleasures. I cannot think you believe I can be defeated so easily.”
Something touched your hand, a cold metal. It was your ring. You slipped it back onto your hand quickly, and as you did, your clothing magically returned to your body, appearing around you.
Thorin was defenceless, without a weapon. His eyes scanned the room, until Darkness was upon him.
A red hand reached out and grabbed Thorin by the throat, pushing him against the wall.
A shriek erupted from your mouth and you lunged at the two glasses on the table, smashing one against the floor. As quick as a flash, adrenaline pumping through you, you slashed at Darkness’ chest, you only just being able to reach. Then as he howled and turned, you aimed for his neck. Blood began to spurt out of the wound, making him drop Thorin to the ground. The creature continued howling, twisting in pain and anger.
Thorin grabbed your hand and the two of you began your race back through the corridor, hearing Darkness’ loud stamps behind you.
Terror gripped you in your chest and you continued running, both you and Thorin keeping at each other’s pace.
“I’ll kill the fucking pair of you!” Darkness howled.
At the end of the corridor was the same silver shine from the mirror, which had covered the entire wall. Without even thinking, the two of you jumped through, landing back on the stone floor of your chamber in Erebor.
Thorin dashed around and grabbed the edge of the mirror just as a red arm reached through. But the demon could not win. With a flash of blue light and an animalistic howl, the mirror was thrown to the floor and smashed.
Shards of mirror sprayed across the floor, spreading the entire width of the room.
You stood still, your heart pounding so hard in your chest and felt tears spill down your cheeks. Shame and guilt hit you so hard that you placed your hands on the edge of the bed and wretched, bringing back a mouthful of red wine mixed with bile.
Thorin heard your wretch and raced to your side, curling his arm around your waist. “My love…”
“Don’t,” you whispered. “Don’t call me that, please.” All you could do was weep, your shoulders juddering in your throes of anguish. “I’m sorry…” you sobbed. “I was so close to being taken from you forever. I know you’ll never forgive me.” You shifted away from Thorin. “Don’t touch me.”
He whispered your name. “Please…”
“I can’t.”
Thorin took your hand, his thumb rubbing across your knuckles. “I promised you that I would always protect you, and I will never stop. That beast attempted to seduce you, my love. The promise of pleasures and wealth can be easy to fall prey to. I know that all too well, yet you seem to forget that.”
“Thorin, don’t talk about that. What happened with the gold…”
“Was a seduction. Mine was of the mind and yours was of the body, but our hearts are what guides us. I heard you call my name, and it was you that called me back from the edge of being completely lost to madness.”
Tears still run down your cheeks and you turned away from Thorin, closing your eyes. You felt nothing but guilt and shame, dragging you down to the lowest you had ever felt. “I can’t do this. I can’t…”
Without another word, Thorin pulled you in to himself and kissed you. It was slow at first, warm and wanting, and then it became deeper. Your whole chest was now alight with such joy and delight; that was how you wanted to feel, not ashamed and at odds with your body. Kissing Thorin was where your whole body became synced and aligned. Your heart was beating with joy, your body was aroused by him, and your mind knew that this was true love.
“That’s how love feels,” you whispered. “It’s at the core of everything.”
Thorin pressed his brow to yours. “Forgive yourself, dear one. Let tonight pass from your memory, and in its place, we shall forge a new life together where our love and lust can exist in equal measure.”
“I cannot believe you can forgive me,” you said, kissing his temple. “I betrayed you physically.”
Thorin sighed. “My love, there have been stories told through time regarding the dark powers that can easily seduce the weakest willed of people. You fought that; this was no ordinary seduction. That beast had power. I could feel it as soon as I entered his domain. You said that he had been coming to you in dreams, beckoning you. Dream walkers have been spoke about for many years.”
“I hope he’s gone now, but I can’t shake the feeling that this isn’t the end. He’ll come for me again. He wanted me to give myself to him and even removed my ring.”
“Because that is a symbol of our love. Even without it, that love we share saved you.”
You brushed your fingers idly through Thorin’s hair. “You have no idea how beautiful you are,” you told him, feeling nothing but awe for him. “And to think that you want me as I want you.”
“Shh, come now,” Thorin cooed. He took your hand and pulled you up from the bedside. “I will have a bath drawn for us.”
“It’s the middle of the night,” you giggled.
“I wish to pamper you and surely there is no time limit on that.”
Thorin did as proposed and requested that a bath be drawn for you both. As the hot water poured into the tiled bath, fresh towels and soaps were brought to you both. Two serving girls smiled at you in amusement as they dashed back and forth, preparing everything.
By the time everything was ready, Thorin stepped across to you and stood behind you, kissing the base of your neck. “I can feel the tension in your shoulders, my love. Come and relax.”
You both disrobed, neither of you feeling an ounce of shame, considering this was the first time you had seen each other naked.
The bath was large with two steps that led down, it reminding you of a small swimming pool. Steam rose from the water and your first step in stung slightly as the hot water met your cool skin.
Thorin stepped in after you and you couldn’t help but keep your gaze locked on his broad shoulders. He was muscular, toned by years of activity from combat and working as a blacksmith. That also meant that he was littered with small scars. As you had imagined, he was well endowed, showing off quite an impressive girth.
For a second you thought back on your feelings that had been uncovered by your time with Darkness. Everything had been pure attraction and arousal, like molten lava coursing through you. But looking upon Thorin was different; every part of you was awakened. All of your body was ignited in your love for him.
He gazed at you, his silver blue depths bright with love and admiration. There was a contentment in his eyes that you had never seen before his revelation of love. Before that and he had always held sadness in his face. It had always been your belief that behind a lot of Thorin’s frustrations was sadness and hurt. You wanted to heal him.
The two of you embraced and then kissed. Thorin’s hands were slow to move, starting off in your hair and then moving down to your neck, your shoulders, breasts. There was no force or rush like there had been with Darkness.
Thorin washed you slowly, massaging the sponge covered in soap over the skin of your upper back. “You are quiet,” he said.
“I’m just enjoying your presence, and contemplating how you make me feel.”
“Oh? Do you wish to indulge me?”
You giggled. “Do you really want to know?”
“Yes,” Thorin whispered to your ear.
You turned around to face him. “I want to give myself to you, now.”
“There is no rush, my love. Considering what you have been through tonight…”
“That doesn’t matter. I want you, Thorin. Every part of you. If you’ll let me have it.”
Thorin never answered and pressed his lips to yours hungrily, letting you know his answer. It would only ever be a resounding yes.
The two of you slipped out of the bath, drew towels around your waist and made your way back to your chamber. Once inside, you stood before Thorin and let your towel drop to the floor. He rushed at you again, drawing his hands up your cheeks and groaning at the impact.
You leaned back on the bed, him following you.
Thorin’s lips trailed down your body slowly, his beard tickling the hot skin. That arousal was surging again, only this time it was mingled with something far deeper: love. This time you wanted to bond with Thorin, connect with him in every way that was possible.
You felt his fingers delve into the curls at the juncture of your thighs and immediately you felt your inner core begin to want more, so much more. A groan escaped your lips and slowly Thorin’s fingers circled your sweet nub and then delved into your womanhood.
Thorin kissed your neck as he began a rhythmic movement inside you.
You clutched his shoulders, feeling the waves begin to ascend. That all too familiar sensation of wanting to get as high as you could to feel that powerful burst. His name fell off your lips, feeling so right and such an integral part of your soul.
“My love,” he whispered in your ear. He kissed down your cheek, wanting you to feel his love radiating through his hands to you.
“Stop,” you told him, pulling his hand away. “I want you.”
Thorin swallowed deeply and felt a sliver of arousal shoot down his spine upon your words. He’d imagined this so many times over the last few months, unable to let the fantasy go. The elation in his chest made him smile at you.
His smile was the most beautiful sight to behold. “I love you,” you told him.
You kissed again, and this time, Thorin took your hands in his while his member rested between your legs.
That intense pulsing was beckoning him in, wanting him to ride you towards heaven. You nudged yourself forwards, reassuring Thorin that this was all you wanted in those moments.
As you joined, you groaned into his neck and wrapped your legs around his waist. You remembered Darkness’ words about you ovulating. And as Thorin rocked against you, you saw a vision flash before your eyes. It was you in a wedding gown, with a circlet upon your head. The circlet matched the design of Thorin’s crown. Your gown was midnight blue, matching Thorin’s signature colour of choice. And there, beneath your resting hands, on your stomach, was a bump. This was the future you wanted, you needed, and which was destined.
You and Thorin continued your thrusts against each other, wanting to reach the pinnacle of physical pleasure together, and topple off hand in hand, hopefully creating that precious life you had just envisioned.
The waves of euphoria kept on building as Thorin maintained his rhythm, until the final wave crashed out, pouring heat and electricity outward from the pit of your stomach.
Thorin felt you shake and contract around him, and your moans of pleasure caused his peak to also come. He kept his lips against yours, groaning into the kiss.
Panting, the two of you embraced as Thorin withdrew from you.
Thorin didn’t have to keep reminding you of being a queen, you already knew that in your heart. All that mattered was you knowing that he loved you far more than anything else in his life.
***
The defeated Lord of Darkness sat upon his throne, a mirror in his hand. He had watched the whole spectacle unfold before his eyes; you had given yourself to the Dwarf King of Erebor, and there had been no persuasion on his part. Everything had been so freely given.
Darkness had already kicked one goblin across the room, as one gawked over his shoulder, enjoying the show inside the mirror. He enjoyed it so much that he had started masturbating behind the throne, hiding away so his master couldn’t see him.
“You cannot outrun me,” Darkness growled, watching as you and Thorin lay together in each other’s arms. “I can wait and when the times comes, I will strike again.

Guys, did thorin die thinking kili was still alive? Think about it, he probably thought that kili had escaped after fili was killed. Because kili goes running to avenge his brother, but then Azog goes after thorin immediately. Which before this, Azog had said; “this one dies first, then the brother, then you, oakenshield. You will die last.”
But can you really put that much merit in what azog says, i mean he literally just wants them to all die, he probably doesnt care in what order, hes just being dramatic. So thorins options of what to think would be that either A: Azog killed Kili in like .5 seconds or B: Kili is still somewhere else fighting, and Azog just choose to go after thorin first instead.
The option he’s more likely to actually believe is B, because he has much more faith in kili than A would allow, if Kili had gotten to Azog, thorin would have found them fighting, or found Kili’s body near Azog at least. So Thorin had to believe that kili was still alive, fighting other orcs somewhere on the hill.
This also means that when he killed Azog he did it thinking that he was saving Kili, and that this line of Durin would continue, that his sister-son would take residence as King under the Mountain. That was why he sacrificed himself in the last move that killed Azog, He died thinking that one of them survived, thinking that he had avenged Fili and saved Kili, but he did only one of those things.
He died thinking that they had finally, truly fulfilled their quest, but his direct line will in fact never again rule under Erebor, he was the end.
