hey guys someone obsessed with columbine just followed me and i had to block them. reminder that i like fucked up media and everything bloody and stuff but you're a weirdo if you're romanticizing real life tragedies, like the person who followed me did!! (had photos of the shooters on their carrd, considered the shooting to be "media").
its completely 100% okay to be interested in crimes and tragedies and all that, i have many special interest/past hyperfixes or just general interests that are related to horrible things in history, but its seriously fucked to romanticize it like that. im not saying your approach to it needs to be exclusively feeling sad or whatever, but theres a point its no longer interest or curiosity or what have you and that its just bizarre.
like i get PURPOSLY putting in images of it to be edgy or whatever. i get that. but theres a line you dont cross without looking like someone whos romanticizing it (...like listing the columbine shooting as "media" right next to tv shows and video games. the transparent image of the shooters on their carrd irked me but i would have brushed it off as just being edgy because i get that.... if it wasnt for how genuinely weird it is listing it like its some sort of video game or fandom or something???)
my page is not a safe space for those who romanticize school shootings/killers/mass murders
calling it out like this because i did not have this in my dni or whatever and im considering adding it to it or something similar. i never thought i needed to because i didnt believe i'd ever come across this issue in 2024 lmao.

bummed about quinn, and mad that some of the most annoying people on twitter are cheering about this, but today is genuinely making me realize just how unhealthy things were for me during bb25 😭
like outside the show things were really not going Very Good for me last summer so i def think the emotions the show was bringing up were more of a side effect of that than the cause but like… i was going THROUGH it from like week 8 (tbh probably before that) to at least the second double eviction (when i gave up caring bc disappointment was inevitable lmao)… like WHY was i doing All That during the invisible HOH week 💀
and now this year things are doing much better for me on like a personal level and so are my reactions to the show haha! i think it’s helped by the fact that all these players games are sooo flawed in their own ways without (at least some far) any majorly problematic shit that i’m just like… extremely chill 😎 extremely at peace with the outcomes of the parking lot show 😎 channeling my inner dawg at the crib 😎

first of all: im jewish. raised jewish and will forever be jewish. i'm proud of it. i'm not super religious and don't really believe in god but that doesn't mean i'm any less jewish.
second: i believe in a 2 state solution. i don't like terrorists. i think hamas needs to be held accountable for the murders and horrors they've committed, because frankly i think they're a bunch of monsters and terrible people. i don't agree with a lot of the stuff that netanyahu does either because that stuff is also not ok. but overall: fuck hamas.
that being said, i believe that israel has the right to exist. i believe that the jews deserve a homeland where we can be safe. i believe that a 2 state solution is the safest and smartest option. but i will also say that as the correct and historically accurate definition of zionism is to believe in the movement and protection of the jewish state - i am a zionist and i am not going to shy away from what i believe in.
i am aware that people will not like this about me, and i am aware they will try to tell me things about myself that are not true. so i am going to set the record straight and go back to posting about my silly little tv shows.
israel has a right to exist and to defend itsself
hamas are terrorists and should not be in power
i am in favor of a 2 state solution
the people of gaza don't deserve to live in horrible conditions because of the terrorists in power
jews and israeli's don't deserve the hate and abuse that they're experiencing because of people who don't know how to fact check

and again - im aware that this isn't the yes/no answer you want, but i can't give that to you because its much more complicated than that.

on a real note probably don't do THIS specifically if you're actually invested in changing minds but just in general moral posturing isn't going to do anything and I think some people on here and online in general have really lost touch on what it means to.. have a conversation.. connect with others... practice the base level of tolerance that's needed to foster the sense of community required to work through these sorts of issues. I talked quite a few people out of purchasing the HP game when that came out and crazy enough I did not do that by calling people stupid or evil for being interested in it. Even when they were aware of the controversy but still had their initial reasons for wanting to buy it or pirate it. Even when it was an issue very close to me, and I'm glad I put the effort in because there's this weird phenomenon where when you insult people they dont take that well idk its crazy
i blocked them and normally i would keep vibing but literally hilarious how people can talk all the talk and use all the right social justice dressing for their words but will still call you a slur
#and probably dont try moral posturing and then saying a bunch of ableist shit alongside a slur in the next sentence#anyway no one owes any bitch an explanation but#4 the record this is about certain comments ive seen. It wasn’t Rudy or Madison. It was his gf that had a problem and has apparently caused scenes on set and made people uncomfortable because SHE is uncomfortable. To be fair it would probably suck having your bf being shopped with another girl constantly but to cause problems in his acting career is the bigger problem because this will follow him to every job he where he has a love interest. Rudy and Madison follow each other on socials. Elaine and Madison don’t but Elaine follows all the other cast members.

See how that doesnt make sense which now it concludes to bailey being unprofessional and a major bitch. You can believe its all elaine fault, but its not just her its madison bailey and mariah no one ever caught onto it until now, when rudy is officially done with outer banks and jj is dead. The reason why people caught onto it so late is because they were just focused on rudy and jj in the show and now because hes gone theyre focusing on madison and putting the puzzle pieces together and what really happened. Like i always say karmas a bitch it was coming for her either way and it bit her in the ass. Im not afan of what she did and rudy didnt deserve the hate and the constant pettiness from her, or her girlfriend but what can i say that just another self centered bitch for you 🤷🏼♀️

i just need to say im very excited for when you publish your panic video i cannot tell you how glad i am to have found someone on here who is normal about these bands. like i was super into bandom when i was 14 ten years ago and when i started college i got into other music finally and also became not a teenager anymore but like these were my favorite bands during such a formative period of my life i still like them theyre still important to me but i had to unfollow so many people here who kept being extremely immature and annoying despite being well into their 20s its so refreshing to finally see someone actually engage with them and their music in a smart, observant, trenchant way thank you for all the work youve put into your essays they were so so interesting to read <3

Also this essay is v exciting to me because I think it's CRAZY that Ryan wrote an album quoting a bunch of 19th century queer French poetry that scarily scarily scarily mirrors his relationship with Pete. And simultaneously while that was happening also the ghostwriter of Pete's book was literally commentating on their every move and a bunch of highly suspicious critical Panic lore about the split and Ryan's coke issues originated from him..... while he was staying in Pete's "beach cabana" and they were doing a TV show and writing a book about banging sluts together. And one fob song is prob about him and he had the title of another suspiciously taped up in his office. Like this is the most high bandom drama ever. And NOBODY POSTS ABOUT THIS. Literally NO ONE is aware of any of this. Zero posts. None. And ITS SO EXCITING!!! So I feel like this is groundbreaking research lol
I feel like the essay flopped extremely hard the first time because of the fail intro but I'm happy with how the video is turning out and am excited for youtube lol

AITA for unfollowing a friend because their posts were upsetting me/telling the friend they're acting like a child/deciding it wasn't my place to tell my friend what he can and can't post?
I (26m) have an irl friend Ed (3
28 they/he). Ed and I are in similar fandoms, but our main connection is sports. He got re-interested in a Fandom they didnt previously engage with much, which is totally fine. However they started fixating on a character that's triggering for me so I unfollowed them briefly without saying anything. They do not post major updates to this account, they write fanfic they tend to send it directly to me anyway. So I wasn't missing much.
I have been unfollowed from them for exactly 3 days. They asked me earlier today if I'd seen their post, and I said casually that I haven't seen any of their posts on that account and asked if they could send it to me. This is normal for us, we miss each others important posts then send them to each other.
When they asked why I haven't seen any of their posts I said "I briefly unfollowed you because I needed a break from all the posts about x, who reminds me of my dad but im going to follow back soon" they were super offended that I unfollowed them. I asked them what I was supposed to exactly, you can't block tags on the website we were on so that wasn't an option. They told me I should have opened my mouth like an adult and asked them to stop posting the character so much. They then got mad when I said it wasn't my place to tell them what to post and I was going to follow them again once this Fandom phase was done. They said that's not an excuse to refuse to communicate with them and that I was a bad friend with horrible communication. I told them they were acting like a child over a fandom social media page. They speaking talking to me now.
It's also worth noting we are connected on most socials. I even follow their other accounts on the site in question so it's hardly as if I was cutting myself off from them completely online. We also see each other more than twice a week in real life. I am not cut off from them by briefly muting/unfollowing one of their pages.
