Apparently this is a hot take: Corrin and Robin shouldn't have been able to marry any 2nd Gen units. I don't care if Lucina was meant to be Male Robin's intended romance, it's weird
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
Yeah I agree. I feel stronger about it with Corrin than Robin because I believe Corrin mentions literally seeing Rhajat as a child? And that’s weird.
Robin at least has the benefits of meeting all of them for the first time as adults(?) but really maybe we should just throw out the whole suitcase
Plus obviously Robin’s intended romance is Chrom
I did not realize this was a hot take either, it’s not something I’ve particularly thought about because I was never interested in romancing second Gen units beyond completion sake, but yeah like that’s a reasonable opinion to have? I do kinda feel like recent stuff has shied away from it at least?

to the Anon that sent me my first anon ask which I mostly skimmed and then accidentally deleted cus sleepy fingies are stoopid and I barely remember most of what it said, in the off chance you actually read this. sorry I guess, its winter here and my brain shuts off early in the cold.
I’d Like to first point out that Intelligent systems is a Japanese company stationed in Japan, and their whole stick with current sexuality stances is somewhat...behind to put it gently, they aren’t Bioware which is as western as a company you can get, and the be all end all of game companies is at their core a bunch of dudes making a product to make money, good business dictates you send that shiz to as much people to get as much money as possible, which means catering to majorities cus theres...well more of them.
thats why they slap rainbows on everything during june, its a marketing ploy. like how everything gets Chismafied in December; tis dat season to milk people for cash.
also Japanese media likes to keep bullshit like current politics and other social issues out of their entertainment stuff since they like to maintain routes for peoples escapism, thats why Marvel is going tits up and the top contenders for comic sales globally are all mangas. which I very much appreciate.
second of all I have no issue with people shipping same sex ships, its their choice and they can ship what they want. personally It just dosen’t appeal to me and my dumb ADHD Brain has difficulty following whos who if both of them are referred to as He and She, just not my cup of tea mate, and I don't even drink tea. what Im trying to say is despite what people seem to think; you have full control over what media you decide to consume, you dont have to like everything.
what I DO have an Issue with is people dominating an already segmented fandom space and harassing people who prefer a different version of said ship Like Edeleth for example. and then having the GALL to be offended when someone politely asks them to knock that off because its rude. like really find me -and since Im feeling somewhat sadistic- 10 different pieces of Male-Byleth X Edelgard fanart on here and you have a chance of changing my mind on that.
I rode out the Chrobin ship Discourse my guy, Edeleth is sorely behind in the “they’re both Valid” department also disliking something about someone that they cant control and disliking someone for their Bad Behavior which they have absolute control over are two different things.
#Edeleth#Fire Emblem#Fire Emblem Three Houses#Fandom Criticial#I am very tired#somewhat sick#and its very cold where I live#and Im going to go to bed now#good night and goodbye#cant wait to see what shitstorm this kicks up

@valorwilled sent... 1, 5, 9, 14, 22 let the salt flow through u too pepper ( prompt. )
What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
corrin/xander is a big one, because............ guys, adopted siblings are still siblings. the entire point of fates is choosing your “birth” siblings or your adoptive ones. i get doing it for yourself in a playthrough, because that’s fair, have fun, but to seriously, actively ship it is... uh... ( on that note, corrin/royals in general is really weird, ESPECIALLY in birthright ohhhhhhh my god, stepsiblings are also still siblings-- )
it just feels like the entire premise of the game goes out the window because you’re h.orny on main for x character.
i also don’t understand ( or like, for that matter ) the concept of first gen/second gen. it’s gross. like. in awakening there’s something of a disconnect since the kids haven’t been born yet-- but like... that’s still your friend’s kid? your living, breathing friend that’s right there? like, are they okay with this? lucina’s the worst offender for this because she DOES exist by the time the reveal happens-- and chrom actively treats her the same as the baby back in ylisse. how does he not run you through on the spot if you go after her?!
and in fates it’s even worse because it’s not like a future version of your friend’s potential kid, that’s straight up your friend’s kid. or, you know, your niece or nephew. :’) intsys... why do you do this...
there’s more but i’ll be here all day if i sit here questioning everything people like.
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
lmao......... chrobin, actually. it’s not that i dislike it or anything, it’s a legitimately wonderful ship, it’s just... the oversaturation has really put me off. i’m just...... bored of it now? i’m not a fan of edeleth either, that’s more because a lot of the time i don’t like how i see it portrayed.
i didn’t ship it to begin with but i’m also really sick of sylvix and ferdibert too. especially the latter, since like 8/10 times people only seem to take interest in hubert as an accessory to ferdinand and i just-- no........ he’s so much more...
Most disliked character(s)? Why?
uhhhhh as far as characters themselves go, without outside influence from the fandom... rhea and gilbert??? like, there are characters i dislike, but i don’t have the energy to really care about them.
but rhea and gilbert are the two who came to mind first, so there we go?
i don’t think i have to explain why i dislike them, either. anyone who knows me knows why i don’t like them.
i’m... also really starting to dislike dimitri outside of bp’s portrayal, sighs into my hands.
Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
you’re allowed to like things and still criticize and discuss their flaws. it does not make you a jerk or less of a fan. you are allowed to like what or who you like, and accepting and acknowledging their flaws and using your critical thinking does not negate that, i promise.
...i guess that’s an unpopular opinion in the fandom, but. y’know. close enough. yes, i’m still very salty over this.
Popular character you hate?
sylvain... whoops. i kinda went from the neutral ‘eh, he’s not a character i’m invested in :/’ towards him to ‘sylvain what the fuck’ upon seeing his supports with byleth, and then... well, a lot of it is also negative association with a person in the fandom who’s hurt me before. i mean, i’ll write with any sylvains who pop up, you’re all valid, but... i just... i’m sorry. i don’t like him. please change my mind-- or at least, give me a better association with the character.

Headcanon Submissions 4!
We’ve had some submitted headcanons and thoughts that have trickled in over the weeks and a few that have been sitting in the inbox for a while, so I wanted to make sure that I addressed all of them. We have quite a few, so I’ve added a cut to continue reading - this should bring us up to date with past submissions!
Lucina is VERY touchy-feely when she's being affectionate thanks to her time in the original future, always wanting to hold something or someone so that they don't leave her. This came as a pleasant surprise to Robin, who didn't expect that she'd be such a cuddler. He personally enjoys that bit and holds her just as well because he wants her to be happy above all else.
- airshipcanon
Happiest Lucina is best Lucina. A Lucina that has a Robin to love is happiest Lucina. Therefore a Lucina that has a Robin to love is best Lucina. Also, she deserves all the cuddles.
- Anonymous
I've never understood why people like or suggest the idea of "Shotgun dad Chrom" in respect to Robin/Lucina. It's frankly out of character for Chrom. Chrom is a trusting character, to a fault. He also is shown to actually be moved to anger when others are goalkeeping in the love lives of his close family. Robin is his best friend, and he puts absolute faith in the man. He cares about his war-weary daughter's happiness, and he knows Robin well. Yes, Lucina is his daughter, but he knows that she's not really his, per say. He's far from stupid, he knows Robin is with the time traveler and isn't taking away his daughter who sleeps in her crib back home. He's providing happiness to a daughter that he couldn't have. And unless Robin is for whatever reason seen as a loose bedswerver, which is also out of character, since Robin's skittish at so much as the idea of seeing Lucina naked, there's no reason for Chrom to be angry at his friend for being with Lucina. Robin's not simply taking Lucina to bed. He's in love with and marrying her. He's not going to break Lucina's heart. Now, it's reasonable that on his ending, Robin gets a fist in the face from Chrom for doing just that after he comes back, but that's because oh wait, his death is going to hurt Lucina, even if it was temporary. But Chrom being hostile or angry towards Robin just for him getting with Lucina is simply not in character. At all. Chrom's Sigurd 2.0, not Hector 2.0 [that'd be Ike. :\]

Though Lucina and Morgan never manage to beat Robin during a strategy game, they manage to pull it off when they team up. Robin disputes the validity of one of their moves and Morgan replies with a full-blown Jack Nicolson style "You can't handle the truth!". Well, it would be full blown if she wasn't smirking and laughing between every word, but I digress.
- baneofloslorien5384
Because Morgan only remembers Robin, Lucina often fears this meant she was a bad mother. Robin tries to reassure her since Morgan fighting with Lucina's style must mean they spent a great deal of time together, but what helps is seeing how torn up Morgan is over here inability to remember her mother. So, the two resolve to make new memories together to compensate for those which were lost.
- baneofloslorien5384
Given her stoic nature, the weight of her mission, her burden of memory, and being the least likely to get a joke, making a Lucina smile is rarely easy. It doesn't stop Robin from trying, though. And, if all else fails, he always has his nuclear option: taking advantage of the fact that Lucina is remarkably ticklish. Though he usually pays for it when sparring, Robin thinks it's worth it.
- baneofloslorien5384
Though Robin and Lucina had a lot of fun at Super Smash Bros., they had some awkward moments. Reflet is Chrobin and mistakes Chrom and Lucina for her family. And, whenever Chrom and Captain Falcon cross paths, Robin and Lucina spend hours pulling the two apart. But, these are moments the couple will look back upon and laugh later. Much, much, MUCH later.
- baneofloslorien5384
Morgan gains a cult compose of Grima zealots and Naga extremists. They worship Morgan as a new messiah because she has a combination of fell and exalted bloodlines, they believe that with her dual bloodlines Morgan has divine powers to bring salvation and prosperity. Morgan loves her cult because they shower her with everything from food to treasures and power, much to the disapproval of her parents.
- Anonymous
Like her mother, Sumia, Lucina finds cross-dressing appealing and can pull it off very well; which is why she could fool everyone as "Marth." Robin sees the appeal in it too, he even confesses to Lucina he may have had feelings for "Marth" since first laying eyes on "him!"
- Anonymous
Robin and Lucina had a secret wedding. The person who performed the ceremony was Henry given he was a priest of Grima, Lucina did not like being wedded under the name of Grima but she put it aside because she is marrying Robin. Robin is happy with the situation but is irritated by Henry's overuse of death puns. Henry is happy doing the secret wedding for his friend and added bonus he can mess with his brother-in-law Chrom on what he did.
- Anonymous
Just like Chrom's sword the falchion is a relic that's is connected to Naga, Robin has a blade connected to Grima called Grima's Tooth. The blade looks like a black serrated knife meant for sacrificing or ceremony purpose. The exalted line can't wield the blade but the fell blood can. When Morgan is recruited, she has in her possession another Falchion and Grima's Tooth.
- Anonymous
If Olivia is Lucina’s mother: although Lucina is ok with wearing dresses, she feels awful embarrassed when she wears her owned dancer outfit. But that changes when she decides to sneak to Robin’s tent while she dons her dancer outfit. The dance she chose is an erotic one that has her take her clothes off, she picks this one to show her love to Robin and to cement their relationship. The night of passion conceived Morgan out of wedlock.

I fell in love with Kazura. I don't know how, but it's now my ride or die Fates OTP, eclipsing even Kamui/Silas. I also adore both Sigurd/Deirdre and Chrobin and like the headcanon that Chrobin is reincarnated Sigurd/Deirdre. As for second gen ships, Lucigo for Awakening and rarepairing it by myself with Sophie/Forrest in Fates. I think I'm the only person who ships it but I love it.
took a while to out whats kazura till u meant kamui/aqua lmao. i love your passion op. good for you. also OOOOO i saw a hcanon post like that too from another chrobin n sideir shipper!!! the hcanon looks like n sometimes i can feel a twinge a pain myself
also also at first i thought u meant lucigo as the rarepair lmao but at least soleil n foleo have supports w each other. so its valid ;w;
#live your dreams op#dont stop the rarepair from making u produce what u love#moenecropyromancer#reply

Unpopular opinion time:
Awakening is genuinely my favourite Fire Emblem game and yes I have played some of the older ones. Perhaps favourite game point blank; it’s been years since I’ve played Twilight Princess and that would be the main contender.
I love the idea of the Shepherds and find the recruitments in game more interesting than fates where most join because they’re your sibling or a retainer. Whilst there are certain fan servicey/”funny” supports f!Chrobin there are plenty of ones you feel for as well and generally the sheer number (which I acknowledge is because of the marriage system) means you get to see the characters in plenty of scenarios. As such, you see more sides to them than you would do in some of the older games. Looking at you Shadow Dragon.
Sure the game has plenty of flaws but you don’t really notice them on a first playthrough? The surface isn’t exactly complicated but when you look at the things surrounding it, such as Ylisse’s bloody history and Walhart’s desire to unite the world being linked to wanting to prevent Grima’s revival, there is actually a very intriguing setting there. On a second or third playthrough you begin to notice issues but if you look past them, various characters’ moralities become a lot more complicated and understandable.
It would have helped if there had been more focus on them. For example, instead of the Grimleal being the one to murder everybody Aversa cared about, they could have left it as the work of the crusades against Plegia. She would have been 11-12 when the previous exalt died - that’s easily old enough to remember and hold an understandable grudge.
But despite missed opportunities such as this, the game is still entertaining. The fact that the good vs evil divide is clear doesn’t ruin it and honestly, who didn’t feel pumped in the last chapter? Sure in normal mode it was pretty easy to defeat Grima but having your allies cheer you on and that gorgeously thrilling music playing? Come on. We all got hyped, even if just a tiny bit.
Honestly, that track is what got me thinking about this. You can not deny the music in Awakening if beautifully composed and so on point for the point of the various chapters. Emmeryn pretty much was written to die in chapter 9 but what truly makes up for that is Don’t Speak Her Name.
There is a power behind that track that keeps it from being a typical oh no we’re sad track. It is so easy to just put something slow and melancholic for a scene where characters are mourning, and whilst this ost has elements of that dotted around, those sections also sound slightly peaceful. A memory of a luminous queen. That clarity crescendos into something with so much strength behind it however, and despite being able to sense the despair and lack of focus on where to go from there, the Shepherds are still ploughing forward because they still have a war to end and a crime to answer to.
And you can feel the adrenaline pushing Chrom forward. He speaks the song’s title out of justified anger yet it’s the whirlwind of emotion in it that drives his disgust at this cruel fate. The fact they had it play over the battles as well works as it shows what is at the forefront of every single person’s minds - Emmeryn’s death, not the current fight.
The chapter dialogue itself compliments how the Shepherds are feeling: we have an enemy general who is also sick of the fighting and wishes for no more needless bloodshed. However, he cannot allow them safe passage and the main reason his troops stick by him is that they see a noble heart worth fighting for. Even the chapter’s enemies work with the track. They aren’t the bad guys here, so no matter who dies it’s a tragedy that can be felt in the music. Yet there is also a constant beat: the world carries on, just like the thieves doted around the map will continue to live their lives as they always do, a change in power not affecting them.
Now I understand that the Valm campaign feels a bit like filler, but how many of you have played it with Chrom fighting the bosses? Because I married Chrom on my first playthrough, he was at the back of the pair up quite often. Due to this, I missed so many boss/Chrom exclusive conversations which I didn’t notice until way after I made this muse. Characters’ motivations are actually questioned, and some pretty valid points are made which complicate matters. For example, we have that general who had betrayed Ylisse because she believed in Walhart’s strength over Emmeryn’s words and she actually has a point given the latter died. Overall in this arc, these conversations add development to what kind of leader Chrom is trying to be and moving out of his sister’s shadow.
Speaking of our supposed protagonist, yes the spotlight gets stolen by Robin. To an extent, Lucina as well. It’s not quite as bad though if you go through all of these optional conversations however, and you get to see an acutal character arc. Admittedly, as a fan of Chrom due to the subtle nuances of his personality and story, I do think the screentime and plot relevance should have been better shared between him and Robin owards the end.
With that in mind, I do like that our avatar became relevant in the end. Suddenly, we had a purpose beyond being a self insert with personality and became important to the grand sceme of things. Our character has a harrowing truth and is at the center of the current problem. Suddenly, we have a genuine plot twist and are invested because hot damn our character has a role. One that will lead to an epic feeling final battle.
But along the way, we feel our avatar making friends with the cast and having something they wish to protect. At the same time, we also get a peek into pre-existing relationships in the form of those alredy within the Shepherds by the time we join. Unlike Fates, we have a group who by the end all joined because of different motivations but are working towards a common goal.
OK I’m going to stop now because this was meant to be a one liner joke and it turned into an essay so in conclusion if you think Awakening is the worst in the series fuck you and your opinion I LOVE AWAKENING we can still be friends though even if you’re wrong

Okay, since people keep badgering me and apparently don’t get the picture, (they keep asking for “better reasoning” which I’ve given but no one cares to check my replies) here’s a more thorough reason why I dislike male robin/would prefer it if he doesn’t win
There’s supposed to be two versions of Robin. One male, one female. Yet all I’ve ever seen since smash bros is the male. In amiibos, in heroes, as one of their poster heroes no less, even in fandom, etc. I’m sure he’ll continue to be in dozens of other things while female Robin remains nowhere. I personally believe the traits that Robin possesses, being a stoic, brilliant strategist are overdone and boring when possessed by male Robin, and actually interesting when possessed by female Robin, because women like that are actually sorely needed in media/video games. And this particularly annoys me because it happens time and time again. A character comes in two incarnations, one female and one male, and the company only pushes the male one, sidelining the female one. EXCEPT! THIS ONCE! IS didn’t super push male Robin, they had things fairly equal, until smash bros showed up and decided to push him as canon, and it just snowballed from there. The fandom just decided to roll with it and drop female Robin completely, I guess because this fandom has no frickin backbone I don’t know. But other fandoms I know of actually try to make the inequality known and try to point out that, hey, this is pretty shitty.
I’m sick of having, as an LGBT+ individual, straight yaoi fangirls preach to me because they headcanon male Robin as gay with Chrom, but where is Chrom in all these other things? He’s replaced with Lucina, fine, but that’s the couple Nintendo is pushing, not gay chrobin, but Robin with Chrom’s DAUGHTER. And I can understand that some gay individuals appreciate male Robin because they headcanon him as gay, but that’s not the image Nintendo is spreading/giving off. Meanwhile people are talking about how Tharja is just the waifu” of straight men, while she’s actually canonically portrayed as bisexual in her Rhajat incarnation, and gets no appreciation for that, even though many wlw like me like her, that’s never acknowledged. Instead she is simply insulted repeatedly, like, “who could possibly like her and you’re wrong if you do”, by SO many people, who never or rarely get called out. When does anyone insult male Robin? Literally I’m the only person, yet SO many people come to HIS defense.
I kept getting responses like “this is shit reasoning”, well, I made a BRIEF post to express my distaste for male robin that tied in with my anger about the hate that Tharja was receiving repeatedly. I didn’t feel like going into alllll the reasons I hate male Robin and what he represents because I could write an essay (this was still brief). You think you feel bad because someone insulted your little male fav once? Think about having it done all the time. It’s annoying as hell. Unless you have a valid point to send my way that I haven’t heard several times from that post already then don’t bother replying to this with some uneducated nonsense, because I’m not gonna respond unless someone has a real valid point that I already haven’t addressed.
#fire emblem heroes#discourse#I replied but nobody was payin attention and kept saying the same damn things so#here#okay bye

Every time there’s a post about Chrobin (with f!robin specifically) in that confession blog, most of the notes are dissing the ship. The post can’t very much just be: “I really love het Chrobin and I love how interesting the story becomes this way!” And people will shit all over it.
“Gay Chrobin is canon and way better” “umm no sweetie, your just being heteronormative” “actually the story is badly written that way” “their supports sucks just bc I say it so the ship becomes null” “the game pushes it waaay too much so it sucks, but totally not with m!Robin” all this accompanied by an angry and long rant, insulting op.
Like really? Do you have to be this salty. It’s okay if you don’t like the ship, that’s completely valid, it’s fine if you only prefer m!Robin. And it’s fine if you wanna disagree with op, but the extremely angry/salty/insulting responses are unnecessary. Many of them sound like you hate f!Robin even though she is basically the same as m!Robin (this is weird considering years back, f!Robin was the favorite.)
#this also goes with tumblr love of just erasing ‘het’ ships bc ‘gay makes everything better’#but thats a sore point that i dont want to get into tbh#bc this fandom is full of that shit#bryn.txt#dl#also i cant believe i have found more love for her in youtube than on here

I admit I'm not much of Chrobin fan not because I'm a hipster (well okay maybe it started out that) but mostly I'm tired of it, I'm tired of people treating like its Canon or just outright ignoring all other possible Chrom and Robin ships. Plus I don't appreciate how if Robin and Chrome marry other people, one of the support convos between Lucina and Morgan is like "So why didn't our parents fuck? That's weird." Like game if you think it's so weird then why did you offer A CHOICE!?
Oh right sorry I forgot this was the fire emblem fandom for a second so people are assholes about things being canon even when they’re specifically designed to not have a set canon, sorry.
Anyway yeah the Lucina and Morgana support thing is weird (also Lucina assuming F!Robin wants to fuck her dad) which is like… come on. People don’t assume M!Robin and Lucina are fucking despite that also being a very good dramatic one and altering the Lucina’s judgment scene
So yeah I can see not liking for those reasons or having it as an EnoughTP I just think saying it’s “boring” is a weird stance given how it affects the narrative
But just not liking it is completely valid
(Also real gamers only get them to their c-support and go through the extra effort of not letting Chrom get supports with anyone else so that they get the chapter 13 confession because that’s infinitely better than their actual supports)
