⛧ no warnings/smut this time. Just an emotional roman after an incredible match and reign.
⛧ writers block is the absolute worst omg. I'll go ahead and be honest, sometimes smut gets a little too hard to write and I don't really want this blog to just be smut. This will be my first fluff since most of my drafts are smut related. Also again this one is short but I hope it's a fun little read.
⛧ after an incredible title reign, things will be different but right now all roman can ever need right now is you.

Wrestlemania.
The biggest night in WWE. All superstars have an amazing opportunity to make a change or write history for the books.
This was also a night for some big title cards. One of which was your partner, Roman Reigns. He is the Trible Chief, The Head of The Table. The main event was when he takes on Cody Rhodes, for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
It was a match everyone was talking about that sparked a lot of debate on TV and social media. Tonight's main event was going to be talked about all year regardless of the outcome.
You held Roman tight in your arms, giving him a big hug before his match.
"You're going to do great out there" you started, "it'll be a night to remember."
"I know it will." Roman replied, gently stroking your hair. "I made a lot of history with this title"
After a warm embrace for what seemed like forever, you let him go, giving him a kiss on the cheek as a signal for good luck.

Cody had finished the story. The new champion held the newly claimed title high as the audience roared.
"Here is your winner...and the NEW Undisputed WWE Universal Champion...The American Nightmare: Cody Rhodes!"
You watched the screen in the guerilla with tears in your eyes. This was one of the most beautiful moments in WWE storytelling. A lot of stories have been written and not just for Cody but for everyone involved.
You couldn't imagine how Roman feels in this moment. He's successfully held the title for an incredible reign of 1,316 days. 3 years. That was already impressive on its own status.
After the pay per view went off air, Roman was desperately looking for you.
"Y/N!" You heard him call out for you. You immediately went to go look for him, needing to give him the most well deserved love he needed.
When Roman saw you, he immediately rushed into your arms, holding you tight.
"Hey baby...I saw" you started, "Are you okay?"
It took Roman a bit to respond, knowing the entire match was a lot to take in.
"Tonight was a moment..." His tone was soft "I've made a name for myself, including my in ring career..."
You listened to him, allowing him to state how he felt in this moment.
"What I'm trying to say is...I'm happy. Not because of my reign but because of what it meant for wrestling. For this company..."
You felt him shiver, you think he was caught up in his feelings.
"I love you so much, y/n... you truly have helped me with everything for the 3 years I've held that championship."
Roman looked into your eyes, small tears forming in his eyes. You smiled and gave him a soft kiss on his lips.
"I love you too, Roman. I'm happy I can be there for you..."
He smiled when he heard how you loved him.
"I know everything will change now...but you're still you, Roman. You've made an impact for WWE. You should be proud of yourself."
"Don't worry I am" He laughed, "Would you...like to get something to eat before we make it to our hotel room?"
You smiled, giving him another kiss "Sure. I think that'll make you feel better. We can get food and laugh about good times."
"Sounds like a plan"
The two of you kissed one more time before going to your dressing room, holding hands on the way there.
"I love you, y/n."

AlterEgo
The last thing I expected on my 20th birthday was to receive a gift from Cody, my roommate.  We were never close, and there was no way in hell he actually knew much about me to know it was my birthday without me telling him.  Him and I were basically complete opposites.  While I was your typical nerd, smart, introverted, and so on, he was basically your typical jock in all the worst ways.  He was boisterous, arrogant, and a total meathead.  We mostly agreed to stay out of each others’ way, considering our irreconcilable differences, but that didn’t stop him from being a massive pain in the ass.  His room was constantly in a state of disarray, with sweaty clothes scattered all over the place.  As such, I often avoided being anywhere near his room if necessary since it smelled like a locker room.  He often invited over his “bros” who were just as bad.  Whether they were hogging the TV to watch whatever game was on, smuggling alcohol into our dorm to get wasted, or playing catch in the fucking living room, they were always a nuisance.  And whenever I brought any of that up to him, he would always end up saying something like “It’s not that serious, dude.  We were just having a good time.”  Yeah, a good time at my expense.  Whoever assigned the two of us to live together must’ve thought this was some twisted joke.
I woke up at 9 AM, still a little tired from last night.  I hung out at one of my friends’ dorms to celebrate my birthday.  I yawned, and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.  I saw Cody was up as well, his legs spread across the couch, to the point that he was taking up two seats, watching something on the TV that was several volume levels too loud for me.
“Hey bro, today’s your birthday right?”  Cody asked, as he tilted his head to face me.
“Uhh, yeah.  How did you know?”  I responded.
“Oh don’t worry about it, bro.  Happy birthday!”  I saw him get up and run to his disorganized room, likely to grab something for me.  I could see a pair of worn gym shorts on the floor through the crack in the door.  He pulled out an old Nike shoe box, since he likely had nothing better to put a gift in.  “I’ve been saving this for you.  I hope you like it!”  Is this his way of trying to get on my good side?
I rolled my eyes since I doubt he got me anything I would enjoy.  He probably just got me something that he’d enjoy, like some tight-fitting tank top or protein powder or something.  Not that I work out or anything.  The only gift I’d want from him is for him to stop being a douche.  I opened the box and I was surprised about what I saw.  It was a video game.  Not any that I’d ever heard of.  I looked at the box art and the words AlterEgo were written in a wacky, colorful font.
“Yeah, I knew you like video games, so I found this for you.  I heard on the internet that it’s pretty nitch…nichy…what’s the word…”
“Niche?”  I responded.  I had to admit, him struggling to pronounce the word right was a little amusing.  As amusing as being with a simpleton like him could be.
“That’s the word!  I got it for myself, but I realized like half an hour in that it wasn’t my thing.  I’m happy with what I have right now.  I figured you’d probably get more out of it than me.”
“Thanks, I guess.”
“No problem, dude.  Anyways, I gotta hit the gym.  I’m gonna be out all day so you have the PS5 all to yourself.  Hope you enjoy it bro!”
I watch him leave, thankful to have some peace and quiet.  As I ate breakfast, I read the back of the cover in order to figure out what this game was about.
“Become a new you!  In this life simulation adventure, you can become any kind of person you want and live any way you choose.  Control your fictional avatar, your AlterEgo, and level up your stats to become closer to your true self.”
The game seemed something like The Sims or Animal Crossing, but with some stat progression system.  It was a game that I had never heard of, but it could be some hidden gem.  The rest of the back was filled with screenshots from the game with the cartoony characters doing activities such as cooking, jogging, and riding a motorcycle.  I figured I might as well try the game since I did get it for free.  Even if it was from Cody, I wasn’t one to refuse someone’s generosity.
I put the game in the disk slot and booted it up.  The title screen had that same logo and some bubbly background music.  I pressed the start button and I was presented with a save selection screen.  I noticed that Cody’s save was on there, which was odd because I was playing on my account.  I knew I should’ve put a password on it.  I wanted to make my own character, but part of me was curious about the character that he made.  Knowing him, I can only guess.  His game time was less than an hour, as he was only on Day 1, and he likely spent most of that time on the character creation screen.
I started his save and my character was sitting in his room.  At this point, it was very bare, with only a bed and a bunch of cardboard boxes scattered around the room.  I guess the character starts by moving into their new home?  I went into the menu to find more information about the character.  The character was named Cody obviously and his AlterEgo somewhat matched him too.  I went into the stats screen and I was greeted by a tutorial.
“Here you can check your AlterEgo’s stats.  You have already set your initial growth modifiers and assigned your base stats.  If you need a refresher, whatever stats you chose your AlterEgo to excel at are highlighted in red and the ones you chose to trade off are highlighted in blue.  This means that your AlterEgo will grow in the stats in red much faster and prioritize activities that increase those stats and avoid activities associated with increasing your stats in blue.  As you play, your AlterEgo will naturally develop into one of hundreds of potential archetypes based on the activities that they excel at.  Experiment and see who you become!”
I looked at the stat screen and saw a list of stats with a bar indicating percentage level.  The stats included Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Courage, Charisma, and Luck.  Not too far off from DnD I guess.  It seemed like he chose to have Strength and Constitution as his highest stats as their font was colored red and Intelligence and Wisdom as his weakest stats as they were colored in blue.  Gee, why am I not surprised…  Cody was anything but a genius.  It seemed like he had 20 initial points to allocate wherever he chose with a default limit of 5.  And I was equally not surprised to find that my meathead roommate chose to put 5 in Strength and Constitution again like a barbarian.  It’s like all he cared about was his looks and perceived masculinity, even in game.
Strength (physical strength): 5
Constitution (physical build and stamina): 5
Dexterity (agility and flexibility): 2
Intelligence (knowledge): 0
Wisdom (intuition and discipline): 0
Courage (risk-taking and bravery): 3
Charisma (social skills): 3
Luck (good or bad fortune): 2
After looking through his stats, I decided enough was enough and I didn’t really want to go around pretending I was Cody the whole game.  I quit out of his save and went back to the title screen.  I was back on the save select screen when I became confused.  There was still one save, except the name of the character wasn’t Cody…it was mine?  The play time was set to 0 minutes.  I don’t know how that happened, but if it saves me the trouble of building a character and reading more tutorials, I’m happy.
To my relief, the avatar representing Cody wasn’t there.  Instead, a very generic, average character stood in its place in the same room.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this was some placeholder account with everything set to the default.  Whatever, I can probably change stuff about him later.  I decided to move my AlterEgo outside and I was greeted by a map of a large city.  I chose an area of the map to explore at random and controlled my new avatar.  On the busy city street, there was a cafe, restaurant, and a gym.  It was too early for the cafe and restaurant to open, so I guess my only option here is the gym.  I’ve never stepped foot in a gym before, but this character doesn’t have to represent me as a whole.  Plus, I’d like my character to be well-rounded unlike Cody’s who would probably spend the whole time grinding here.
I went into the gym and had to perform a set of quick-time events.  First, I had to do some bench presses.  Then some squats.  Then finally, run on a treadmill.  At the end of it, my AlterEgo did a cartoony celebration and flexed his arms.  A pop-up showing that my Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity went up by 1, followed up by another one saying that my Strength and Constitution will double every time I do activities like go to the gym.  So it looks like Cody’s modifiers carried over after all despite everything seeming to be the default.  That should’ve been the first thing I checked.  I didn’t want my character to be specced to be some lumbering brute.  I suppose that if I wanted to get my character’s Intelligence and Wisdom, it’d probably be like playing on Hard mode.  Honestly, I was open to the challenge.
I was disappointed to find out that it’d be harder than it seemed.  When my character got home in the evening, I went into one of his boxes and I was presented with an option to read.  I was presented with several options, ranging from comics to full-on novels.  I chose the novel since I figured it would raise my Intelligence the best.  I watched my AlterEgo try to read the book, but I saw a look of confusion on his face.  Eventually, he grew frustrated and threw the book back into the empty box as if he were shooting through a basketball hoop.  I expected my Intelligence to stay the same, but no, it actually dropped!
“Sometimes when your AlterEgo fails to complete an activity, their stats can decrease!  These stats can even go into the negative.  Make sure to keep your stats high because it can become very difficult to increase your stats if they fall below a certain point.”
I couldn’t believe that my character struggled to even read.  This guy was nothing like me at all!  I hoped that it would be easier to raise my AlterEgo’s Intelligence because I didn’t want him to be a moron.  I watched my character fall asleep and I could see into his dream.  Another tutorial popped up.
“Sometimes your character will have dreams!  These dreams are mostly random, but will also depend on your character’s stats.  Just like other activities, you have a chance to increase your stats.”
I watched my character fight in a zombie apocalypse, but the zombies didn’t even look remotely threatening.  I succeeded in the activity and my Courage went up by 2 and my Luck and Strength went up by 1.  My character wiped his head of sweat as the zombies turned to dust.
The next day, I learned that my AlterEgo can go to school.  That was expected, considering my character’s age, only I didn’t realize how hard it would be for him.  He was sitting in a desk trying to write down notes.  Eventually, like an idiot, he slammed his thick head on his desk and started snoring.  This was honestly getting embarrassing.  My Intelligence and Wisdom dropped yet again, not by 1, but by 2.  If I didn’t do something different, my AlterEgo would basically be a clone of Cody instead of myself.  After class, instead of being given an option to go and do something, my AlterEgo is approached by a group of buff men.
Quarterback: Hey new guy, you’re looking pretty strong.  Judging from your Strength and Constitution, I think you’d make a good fit for the football team.  Your Dexterity and Courage also seem pretty good.  Wanna join, bro?
You know who else played football?  Cody.  I had to keep being reminded of him even when he wasn’t even around.  This was my character and I didn’t care about sports, so I clicked the no option.  To my surprise, my AlterEgo nodded instead.  It's like this game is going out of its way to spite me at this point.  Two tutorials popped up.
“If your Wisdom is too low, your AlterEgo might act on their own desires rather than your command.  This means that they can sometimes act on their own or select activities that they are more interested in rather than those they are not.  Raise your Wisdom or else you will have less freedom when developing your AlterEgo.”
“You have decided to join a club or organization.  This will grant you a passive growth to certain stats every week.”
I watched as my AlterEgo walked away with the group of jocks.  A football uniform magically appeared over his normal clothes.  For joining the football team, I was granted a point in Strength, Constitution, Courage, and Charisma every week, with the usual double for Strength and Constitution.
I kept playing the game, getting frustrated at my AlterEgo’s reluctance to even try to act smart or reasonable.  He frequently avoided or skipped intellectual pursuits to focus on those that made him look or feel good.  It honestly just felt random whether he wanted to obey me or not.  By the end of Day 7, the first week my stats were looking like this.
Strength: 30
Constitution: 28
Dexterity: 10
Intelligence: -20
Wisdom: -15
Courage: 21
Charisma: 17
Luck: 16
My Intelligence and Wisdom seemed unfixable.  My AlterEgo wouldn’t even bother to try to read or pay attention at school and he consistently started to make random choices that satisfied his needs as the week progressed.  I grew incredibly frustrated at this, but out of curiosity, I wanted to see if there was an end to this so I could go back and make my own character.  Either way, this game was plagued with questionable design choices.  It’s like the AlterEgo was already locked into a specific path.  I hoped that I had accidentally skipped a tutorial or something and that I hadn’t softlocked myself out of raising certain stats.  Unfortunately, my AlterEgo’s stats continued to grow and drop as I hit Day 30.
Strength: 75
Constitution: 69
Dexterity: 44
Intelligence: -66
Wisdom: -49
Courage: 54
Charisma: 37
Luck: 41
I received another tutorial message on Day 31.
“You look like you are on track to evolve into your archetype very soon!  By this point, your AlterEgo’s stats will be locked in place.  That will be the end of the main story, but there is still so much to enjoy afterwards!”
I figured I might as well see this through to the end.  You know, see how much of an idiot my character can become.  Despite my efforts, all my AlterEgo does now is work out, practice and go to games, and go to parties, outside of necessities.  His Intelligence is so low that he rarely even goes to school anymore and that has caused his intelligence to plummet to the bottom.  I played for even longer, eventually hitting Day 60.  Turns out that this is the day I would discover my AlterEgo’s archetype.
“Congratulations on making it this far.  I hope you are excited to find out your archetype, because I know I am!  Remember that these changes are permanent, so there will no longer be ways to increase or decrease your stats.”
I watched my AlterEgo marched onto the stage and I was able to view my final stats and a rating of each of them.  The descriptions seemed to be heavily based on my other stats, and trust me, they were very satirical, and in my case, very scathing.
Strength: 100
I’d give this an A+.  I’m not even sure if you are human anymore.  I’ve seen you lift things that no normal man could, not because you have to, but because you want to.  You spend more time at the gym than you do at your own house and you might give The Hulk a run for his money.
Constitution: 100
You also get an A+.  Your months of training at the gym have given you a perfect, chiseled body that looks like it could be made out of iron.  You have a seemingly endless supply of testosterone and your stamina (in more ways than one, it seems) cannot be beaten.
Dexterity: 75
This gets a B.  You are very athletic and quick on your feet despite your appearance.  However, your large size means that you can be pretty clumsy and you’ve probably broken more things than you’d like to admit.
Intelligence: -100
I’ll just go along with your teachers and give you a big fat F.  Are you even trying?  I worry that there’s not a single thought going around in your thick skull.  You care very little for anything intellectual or sophisticated, not that you even know what those words mean.
Wisdom: -90
Likewise, you also get another big fat F.  Were you dropped on your head when you were a baby or did you take too many tackles to your cranium?  You have incredibly poor judgment and you only make decisions that satisfy your brutish desires.  In short, you often act before you think.  Your lack of discipline is only matched by your lack of brain cells.  As long as you’re having fun, should I really care what you do with your life?
Courage: 90
I’d give this an A, but not an A+.  Because your brain moves too slow to process any risk, you often think before you act.  You often find yourself in the most dangerous of situations and you often perform incredibly stupid stunts.  When you’re on the field, you’re a risk taker, and at least it usually pays off.  On the bright side, you always come out unscathed, so I can commend that.
Charisma: 70
I’d give this a B-.  Being on the football team and being very attractive is going to place a lot of eyes on you, but they are all focused on your body because everything else you have to offer is very superficial.  I wonder if you surround yourself with people who think and act the same as you do or if people keep you around to laugh at every stupid word that comes out of your mouth.
Luck: 80
Lastly, you get a B.  Your luck genuinely amazes me sometimes.  Despite everything, despite your lack of any intellectual thought or reasoning, you have survived long enough to make it this far in life.  This alone proves that life favors some over others.  If there is room for the concept of a higher power in your shrunken headspace, then they probably feel a sense of amusement at the state of you bumbling around through life with only your good looks and muscles salvaging you.
“What do you think?  Are you happy with your results?  Anyhow, it’s time to reveal your archetype.  It’s who you are and who you will be from now on!  Drumroll please…  (As if it wasn’t obvious enough…)  You, my friend, are…THE JOCK!”
The Jock
You are likely an athlete or bodybuilder and you likely care little for intellectual thought.  You enjoy playing and watching sports and working out above anything else.  You are hyper-masculine, aggressive, arrogant, and egotistical.  However, you are also very muscular, tall, athletic, popular, and handsome.  You feel a deep sense of camaraderie with anyone you consider your bro, which mostly includes other jocks like yourself.  Your wardrobe mostly consists of tank tops, jerseys, varsity jackets, shorts, sweatpants, jockstraps, baseball caps, sneakers, and everything in between.  Because of your high testosterone and your above average genitals, you are viewed as a desirable partner and often partake in sexual activities with members of the opposite sex, and sometimes even other men depending on the person and situation.  Your most likely career path is as an athlete or coach, but as long as it doesn’t require too much deep thinking, you could probably find a job anywhere with your connections and attractiveness.  Enjoy your new self!
I watched my AlterEgo vanish within a cloud of smoke and come out a cartoonish representation of your average stereotypical jock with blonde hair and a very lunkish, yet admittedly impressive build.  He looked around, clearly disoriented, with a dull, confused look on his face before flexing with a cheesy, confident smirk on his face.  The audience cheered and clapped at this ridiculous personification of a walking stereotype as if they were watching a magic show.  Honestly, it was almost amusing how the description it gave for “me” couldn’t possibly be more wrong.  It sounded like everything Cody was, not me.  Although I guess I was playing with his settings, not by choice I will add, but I had little control over how my AlterEgo decided to live its life.  I just wish I could get him off my mind for just one day.  Either way, I found myself incredibly dissatisfied with my new AlterEgo, but I accidentally found out a way to make things even worse for me.  I just wanted to scroll through the remaining text to get to the credits, since I have been playing for 8 hours by now, when I saw a selection that would seal my fate.
“Are you satisfied with your result?  Now that you’ve discovered who you truly are, are you ready to be The Jock in the real world?  WARNING: If you select Yes, your save will be deleted as a result.  These changes are permanent.  If you click No, you can continue playing after the credits.”
I accidentally clicked Yes as I was mashing through the text.  What the hell was I thinking?!  I had no idea that this would change the entire trajectory of my life.  At first I felt nothing, as the screen faded to black.  Then, I saw the credits start to roll, playing a remix of the joyful title screen music, and that’s when I started to feel all warm inside and I felt a painful shock come from my controller.
I felt a sudden wave of pain rush through my body as my bones started to crack and shift in my body and my muscles began to inflate like balloons.  I looked at the credits and noticed that the new jock AlterEgo was doing the things he normally enjoyed doing in the background.  But I couldn’t really concentrate on it as I found myself focusing down below.  My legs stretched and stretched until I was around 6’4.  My feet grew to a size 15 and my thick glutes and ass made me sink deeper into the couch from their weight.  The fat in my stomach felt like it was melting as it left behind nothing more than a layer of sweat and a firm six pack of abs.  My upper chest formed into a round set of bouncy pecs.  Likewise, my biceps and triceps were almost the size of my head now and my soft hands became rough and covered in calluses from intense lifting.  I felt my clothes cling tightly to my body as if they were two sizes too small, and they’d easily rip if my body grew any more.  My shirt fit more like a crop top on me and my clothes were damp from pit and ass sweat.
I felt my long hair recede into my head until it formed into a shorter cut that was much easier to maintain.  As it did that, my chestnut-colored locks lightened into a golden blonde.  My soft, round eyes became more sharp and masculine and I could feel them turn from a chocolate brown into an icy shade of blue.  My youthful face lost most of its baby fat and buried beneath it was nothing more than the chiseled edges of my jawline.  The lower half of my face, which used to be soft and hairless, was now covered in a prickly lawn of stubble.  Even my pasty skin turned a shade tanner from the years I spent in the sun throwing balls around.  I noticed that my entire body started to sweat profusely to the point that I could smell my own musk and I became absorbed by my new-found masculine scent.  I could smell the testosterone that was pumping through my veins like a drug.  I felt powerful, dominant, virile, and dare I say it, good…  Lastly, I found my lips contort into an obnoxious, conceited smirk.  Was I…enjoying this?  Judging from the growing feeling in my groin, I was led to believe that I was.  And it kept growing and growing and growing…
All the while, the credits continued to play and the happy-go-lucky music felt like it was mocking my painful situation.  Despite the strange pleasure I felt, it was only a distraction as my body still writhed in pain through the whole process while I changed entirely into a real life manifestation of my AlterEgo.  What the hell is this game?  I noticed that the jock avatar stared directly towards the screen, as if he was breaking the fourth wall, and started to walk closer and closer before vanishing from his virtual prison for good.  The lively credits started to simmer down, giving the screen a more empty and disquieting feeling.  That was the last thing I noticed before I felt a sharp headache ring through my head.  I am usually fine playing games for a long period of time so why…Why did my roommate buy me this game anyways, bro?  If he was gonna buy me any game, he should’ve gotten me the new CoD or Madden game, not this weird shit.  I had to admit, it was kinda addicting.  I liked being able to work out or play sports even when I’m at home.  Wait, what was that?  I felt like I just heard another voice in my head, both sounding similar yet different to my own.  Eventually he called out directly to me.
“Hey bro, it’s me.  Your AlterEgo.  You know, the real you.  It’s been fun, dude.  Now I get to enter the real world, isn’t that sick?  So here’s what’s gonna happen, dude.  I am currently inside your mind and I’m making the final changes to turn you into the person you were always meant to be.  That’s right dude, we are becoming one singular person in both body and mind.  Don’t try to struggle or fight back.  You know I’m stronger than you.  There’s no going back.  So, are you ready to become one with your true self?
NoI thought to myself.  I wasn’t a jock.  I was never a jock.  I’m nothing like my AlterEgo.  This is a mistake.  This was Cody’s AlterEgo, not mine!
“Chill out, bro.  I know you read the warning and you clicked Yes, so you obviously knew the risk.  Why did you keep playing if you knew you’d become a jock regardless of the decisions you made?  Because you are one deep down.  Or maybe you secretly wanted to be one.  Maybe you wanted to see what life was like on the other side.  Maybe this Cody guy wanted you to try out this save, you know, to see what would happen...  Whatever reasoning, it really doesn’t matter dude.  I know you can feel me taking over your mind.  You’re finding it harder to think.  Soon you’ll be The Jock, me.  I just wish you realized a little sooner who you really were…”
I felt my brain starting to shut off and my vision starting to become blurry as my AlterEgo took it over.  I don’t even know how any of this is possible, even by today’s standards.  An AI buried deep within the game was taking over my body and mind entirely, reshaping me in his image.  But I continued to resist, to cling onto whatever parts of my personality I could.  However, as I felt my mind sink deeper and deeper into this mental void, I felt myself slowly becoming more and more like The Jock.  The archetype that was decided on, not by me, but for me.  Until that’s all I was.
Everything turned black for a few seconds.  I slowly regained consciousness as my brain rebooted itself.  Wait…what’s a reboot?  I sat and watched the credits with a dim look on my face as it finally ended.  I was booted back to the title screen and saw that my save was indeed deleted.  This was proof that my AlterEgo was now a part of me and that he was finally whole.  I pulled out my phone wanting to learn more about this game, because, dude, it was kinda fucking weird. By scrolling, I couldn’t find much, but I did discover a post from not too long ago on some ancient forum site that was probably made in the early 2000s.
“Is The Game AlterEgo Real?”
“I’ve heard rumors about this game called AlterEgo, but I have very little information on it.  It’s said to be incredibly dangerous and could lead to permanent bodily and mental changes.  Throughout all of my research, I could not find any copy of the game for sale, nor any definitive proof that it’s real or any information on the company that developed it.  If you have any information on this game, please let me know.”
I skimmed through the forum page, not that interested in reading what everyone had to say.  Who has time for that anyways?  But I did find one reply that caught my eye.
“I can confirm with certainty that AlterEgo does exist.  My friend received it as a gift for Christmas and he wouldn’t stop talking about it to me.  It’s like he was addicted.  A week later, when I saw him next, I could barely even recognize him.  His body had grown and changed greatly and he didn’t act like his usual self.  I even feel like his memories might be a little distorted.  I tried checking his house to find the game in order to figure out what it was all about, but I don’t think he has it anymore.  He probably sold it or gave it away since he said he finished it.  No matter what, he won’t tell me.  If there are any other copies of the game left, please let me know.”
Woah, so this game is fucking weird, dude.  Wasn’t just me.  I just played it right?  But I don’t feel any different.  You know, I bet these nerds would pay a lot for a chance to find out about this game.  Maybe they might come out as different people.  I’ll put it up on eBay for a high price.  One of those dweebs just has to take the bait.  I wouldn’t mind a little cash though.  I’d feel bad for selling Cody’s gift, but just imagine what I could get with that much money.
“Hey bro, you still in here dude?”  I heard a familiar voice shout as they opened the door.
“Yo Cody, there you are.  What’s up dude?”  I was happy to see him.  Cody was my roommate and my best friend.  We were practically inseparable.  When he made eye contact with me, his eyes widened.  I couldn’t really blame him for being impressed with my awesome body.
“You beat that game I gave you already?”  He seemed surprised, yet almost impressed.
“Yeah, it’s not usually my type, but I enjoyed it dude.”
“Do you…feel any different, bro?”  Cody sounded kinda hesitant there.  Had he read about the rumors too?  I don’t see why he’d have to worry.  None of those rumors are true anyways.
“Nah, same as I’ve always been.”
“Alright, good.  I was just making sure you were down to get some food.  You should be out partying and celebrating your birthday, not playing some nerdy video game.  And trust me, I know all the good spots.”
“You’re right bro.  I haven’t gotten enough exercise in today.  Let’s go.”
“Wait, before you go, your clothes are so sweaty dude.  You should change.”
“Oh shit, good idea.”
“Y-you can just wear one of my clothes.  They’d probably fit you better.”  He was right.  As I soon realized, someone shrunk all my clothes as part of a prank.
Me and Cody went to a sports bar to watch the game.  If I remember correctly, this was our favorite spot to get food, except you know, anywhere that lets me hit my macros.  Since it was my birthday, he even paid for the whole meal.  I don’t remember how long I’ve known him, but couldn’t ask for a better bro.  On the way home, Cody grabbed a six pack of beer from the frat house and brought it to our dorm to drink the night away.  I wasn’t old enough to drink, but it’s not like I never had alcohol before.  And besides, today was basically my cheat day.
We got wasted while we watched TV, and we did some things that I probably wouldn’t admit to anyone but him.  I couldn’t help it though.  I hadn’t gotten laid all weekend and it was my birthday.  Quite frankly, I deserved it.  Thankfully Cody took one for the team.  He said it wasn’t weird because we’ve definitely done it before and that it was our secret.  I had to give him credit.  His tight hole is better than most girls’.  I didn’t know he was a bottom until tonight.  I also didn’t remember having a dick this big, but you don’t see me complaining.  After all was said and done, I passed out drunk next to him in his bed, our bodies drenched in sweat and each other’s fluids, as I enjoyed the bromance I have with my best bro.  This was the best birthday ever.
The next day, I got up extra early to go for a run despite my hangover.  Afterwards I went to school, but like usual, I struggled to pay attention.  It was like my mind was in a constant fog.  My grades are slipping and this football scholarship is the only thing keeping me from dropping out entirely.  After classes, I joined Cody and the others at practice.  Throughout the day, I kept getting this feeling of uh…dayjah voo?  That word that means that you feel like you’ve done something before.  I wasn’t exactly sure where it was coming from.  I shrugged it off.  I was just a jock and I didn’t need to worry about stuff like that.
When I got home, I got an offer for the game Cody gave me.  You know, AlterEgo.  Some nerd seriously offered $1000 for it.  I didn’t actually know it was that rare.  I hope he enjoys it more than I did.  I’ll sure enjoy the 1000 dollars.  I bet he’ll love passing it around to all his other geeky friends.  I wonder what their AlterEgos might look like…

You're having a meeting with Padmé and a few other senators. You're discussing Palpatine and the situation in the Senate. And on the battlefront.
'We cannot let this turn into another war,' Amidala says.
'Absolutely, that is the last thing we want,' Bail Organa says.
'We are hoping to form an alliance in the Senate to stop the Chancellor from further subverting the constitution, that's all,' Mon Mothma adds.
'I know a Jedi I feel it would be wise to consult,' Padmé says. You look at her. Is she talking about Anakin… or someone else?
'That would be dangerous,' Bana Breemu protests.
'We don't know where the Jedi stand in all this,' Mon Mothma agrees.
'I only wish to discuss this with one… one I trust,' Amidala argues.
'Going against the Chancellor without the support of the Jedi is risky,' Giddean Danu supports her.
'The Jedi aren't any happier with the situation than we are…' Padmé points out.
'Patience, Senator,' Che Eekway says.
'We have so many Senators on our side, and the Queen of Luth, surely that will persuade the Chancellor,' Fang Zar says.
'When you present the "petition of the two thousand" to the Chancellor, things may change,' Breemu says.
'Let us see what we can accomplish in the Senate, before we include the Jedi,' Organa says. Amidala takes a deep breath in frustration and disappointment.
'I trust the Jedi,' you speak up. 'And I know they don't trust the Chancellor. Not anymore. They don't like his last moves. They will support us. Both them and we can benefit from it if we come to them.'
'What do you mean?' Mothma asks.
'Palpatine is popular among the people… and in the Senate,' you start. 'And he's been in power for far too long to give it up willingly. It never hurts to have as many allies as we can. I would go to the Jedi now.'
The senators start discussing it. Padmé shoots you a grateful look. In the end, it is decided you will go to the Jedi. Amidala and Organa are going to go at once. They're going to tell them about the petition and your involvement in it.
You leave together with Padmé and Bali. To your surprise, outside you meet your husband. You both barely resist smiles.
'Anakin, what a surprise,' Amidala says, not resisting a smile. He nods at her, glancing nervously at you.
'We are just on our way to the Jedi Temple,' Organa says.
'Well, I'm afraid I just left it,' Skywalker says. Your good mood evaporates.
'Another mission?' Padmé asks, worried.
'Hopefully the last one,' your husband says. 'I won't stop you.'
'Good luck,' Amidala says, disappointed to cut the meeting short. Bali and the Jedi nod at each other. The Senators leave.
'It is confirmed, then?' you ask. 'Grievous is on Utapau?'
'None of our agents could confirm it,' Anakin denies. 'But the Council has decided to risk it anyway. As agreed, I'm going with Obi-Wan and our troopers.'
'Let me walk you, then,' you say. You head outside. You stop just at the door.
'Be careful,' you plead. He caresses your cheek.
'And you,' he says quietly. 'I want to think the Sith Lord doesn't know you're my wife. But if he finds out…'
'I'm well protected,' you assure him. You look around. Not seeing anyone, you cup his face and kiss him deeply.
'Soon we won't have to hide,' he whispers. 'I feel it.'
'I can't wait,' you murmur and pull away. You go outside. Obi-Wan is already waiting for you by a speeder. He smiles, as you approach.
'I want him back in one piece,' you demand.
'I'll make sure of that,' he promises. You touch his arm.
'Same goes for you,' you say. 'You're my friend. I'd hate for something to happen to you.'
'I have Anakin, nothing bad can happen to me,' he says and you share a smile.
'Obviously,' your husband says, grinning. You chuckle and pull Kenobi for a hug.
'Be careful around the Chancellor,' he murmurs.
'I will,' you swear and pull away. You look at them both.
'My Jedi boys,' you say with pride. 'Go and save the galaxy.'
'Yes, Your Majesty,' they say, bowing. You roll your eyes and shake your head. They laugh and get into the speeder. You touch it and they look up at you. You smile with tears in your eyes. They become serious at this.
'May the Force be with you,' you say.
'And with you, [Y/N],' Obi-Wan says, while Skywalker takes your hand and kisses it. You pull back and they go. Soon they will be gone from Coruscant as well. Hopefully it means they will put an end to this terrible war.
Later you're with Padmé as a part of the delegation of two thousand in a meeting with the Chancellor. It doesn't go well. He assures he's on their side but doesn't listen to them. They leave, frustrated.
'Your Majesty, may I have a moment with you?' Palpatine asks. You stop. He's saved you from thinking about an excuse to stay. You not at Amidala and turn around, a question in your eyes.
'Is something the matter, Chancellor?' you ask once you're alone. He smiles at you (that patronizing smile you hate so much) and walks from behind his desk to you.
'You're so rarely on Coruscant these days,' he says. 'I was simply hoping you'd join me for supper, Your Majesty.'
'I would be delighted,' you lie with a tight smile. He points at the door and you leave together. He takes you to his private apartments. Hawk gives you a worried look as the door closes, as he was asked to stay behind. You share his worry. You don't like staying alone with Palpatine.
'I was surprised to hear about your arrival,' the Chancellor says at one point, while you're eating. 'I heard you rarely travel. After being kidnapped again.'
'I never refuse a friend when they call for me,' you reply. 'And Senator Amidala asked me to come, to give her advice.'
'I see, I see,' he says. 'Very admirable of you. And brave. I was kidnapped by Grievous just a few days ago. Very frightening experience.'
'I suppose I'm used to being kidnapped, then, as I wasn't scared,' you say, sipping wine.
'No?'
'Well, maybe not as much as I should have. But I knew someone will come to rescue me.'
'Anakin. And Obi-Wan. I was rescued by them myself. It was… an interesting experience.'
'They work well together. I'm always at ease when I hear they have a mission together. They never fail.'
'Then you'll be pleased to hear they were sent after Grievous. I was pleased to hear the Council took my advice and send Anakin as well, instead of just Kenobi.'
He smiles and sips his wine. But you can't help but think he doesn't look pleased. Not at all. Still, you return a smile and nod, praying you won't have to stay long.
'Anakin is a great Jedi,' Palpatine says. 'The best one, I dare to say. I'm glad to call him my friend.'
'I share the sentiment,' you say. 'He saved me more than once. And he's a great companion.'
'Let's toast to him,' he says and you clink your glasses after raising them. 'I hope our friend will be home soon.'
'Yes,' you agree, your heart heavy. 'So do I.'
*
You're on your way to your apartments, when you receive a call. You answer it and Windu's hologram appears.
'Your Majesty,' he greets you. 'We have just received a message. Skywalker and Kenobi have made contact with General Grievous, and they have begun the attack. Can I ask you to deliver this report to the Chancellor? His reaction will give us a clue to his intentions.'
'Of course, Master Windu,' you agree. 'I wish you called a few minutes earlier, though. I'm returning from supper with him.'
'How did it go?' the Jedi asks, frowning.
'Nothing suspicious much,' you answer. 'Except that he didn't sound pleased when he told me you send Anakin with Obi-Wan.'
'I see. Maybe he really tries to turn Skywalker against us. It is troubling.'
'It is. I will inform you about his reaction as soon as I can.'
'Thank you, Your Majesty.'
He nods and ends the call. You sigh and inform Hawk about the change of plans. He grumbles but turns the speeder around. Soon you knock on the door to the Chancellor's office.
'Queen [L/N],' he says, surprised. 'Did you forget something?'
'I met with a messenger from the Temple outside, I offered to deliver the message from the Council,' you lie. 'They have just received a report from Master Kenobi and Skywalker. They have engaged General Grievous.'
'That's a relief,' he says, smiling. 'I am certain they will end the war soon.'
'It's something we all wait for,' you agree. You open your mouth to nudge him to reveal something, but your communicator starts beeping.
'Excuse me, Chancellor,' you say. 'Maybe it's more news.'
'You better answer it, then,' he says, nodding. You enter his antechamber. You answer the call. Instead of a Jedi, you see a grim face of Juando.
'Fives was right, Your Majesty,' he reports. 'All Clones have the chip. There are… orders encoded in them. One is to kill all the Jedi. However, another one is to arrest or even kill the Chancellor.'
'So, nothing exactly pointing to him?' you ask, frowning.
'I'm afraid not, except for Fives' story,' he answers. 'What should we do about the chips?'
'Is there a way to turn them off at once?' you ask after a beat. He turns and asks someone that question. He looks back at you a moment later.
'Yes, but I doubt it can be done peacefully,' he reports. You think for a moment.
'We cannot become tyrants,' you finally sigh. 'Try to do it peacefully. I'll report our findings to the Jedi Council. But just in case… how do I activate the arrest order?'
'You have to say: "Execute Order 65",' he answers. 'Good luck, Your Majesty.'
'To you as well,' you say and end the call. But just then you get another one. You sigh. You're very popular this evening. You answer it and see Lanash's anxious face.
'Your Majesty, are you back from your supper with the Chancellor?' she asks.
'No, but you can stay longer with Axe,' you answer. 'Unless he's not done yet?'
The Jedi Council has asked Mandalorians for help in interrogating Dooku. He refused to reveal the identity of his master. Hearing that, your maid rushed to the Jedi Temple, wanting to spend time with her boyfriend.
'He's just finished,' she answers and gives you a panicked look. 'He said it's… Palpatine.'
Your blood runs cold. You expected the Chancellor is not sincere. But this? No.
'Maybe he's lying to sow discord among us,' you suggest. But deep down you think you actually suspected that.
'Nevertheless, you must get away from him,' Lanash says. 'I beg you, Your Majesty.'
'I will leave at once,' you promise and end the call. But just then you feel really dizzy and your vision becomes blurry. You grab something for support. Then, a strong hand grabs you.
'Are you all right, Your Majesty?' Palpatine asks. You turn your face to him. He appears concerned… but there's something in his eyes. You start shivering. Your stomach hurts.
'You poisoned me…' you whisper with dread. He sighs and the concern is gone.
'I always believed you're too smart,' he says and pulls you toward a couch. 'That's why I had to do this. Well, that and your close relationship with Anakin. You're having too much influence over him. It must stop.'
He sighs and pushes you onto the couch. Your tongue is numb. Your heart rate is spiking up.
'I really hoped you're going to be at your apartments,' he says. 'You'd be taking a bath according to your schedule. Alone. You'd be found only after someone would become worried. It would be too late. The examination would say you drowned. No one would detect the poison. But we can still arrange something.'
'You… Sith…' you try to say.
'Ah, you figured it out,' he says and smiles at you patronizingly. 'I'm afraid it's too late.'
You stare at him with fear. The smile becomes evil. You know the Jedi Council is going to be informed by Mandalorians any moment now, if they're not already. But for you… it may be too late. And you can't call Hawk. But there's someone else you can.
Anakin… Anakin, help…
On Utapau, Skywalker rides on a Lizard after Grievous with Obi-Wan. They're closing in. Soon, it will be all over and he'll be back to-
Anakin… Anakin, help… Palpatine, he…
He nearly falls from his lizard. In addition to your voice, he can feel your pain. Fear grabs his heart. He grabs the reins tighter.
'What is it?!' Obi-Wan shouts, sensing and seeing his distress.
'[Y/N]… something's wrong… she's dying,' he says and looks at his friend with terror. Kenobi is troubled.
'It may be another trick of the Sith Lord,' he warns his friend. 'Just like it was with your dreams. Maybe they have found out who you really love.'
'What if it's not?!' his former padawan cries out.
Poison… Palpatine… Sith Lord… help…
'I can hear her, Obi-Wan,' he says, crying. 'She's in pain. She… she's saying something about the Chancellor and Sith Lord.'
'Call the Council and join me,' Kenobi decides, serious. His friend looks at him with gratitude. The older Jedi nods and continues the pursuit. The younger one calls the Temple.
'Skywalker,' Windu greets him. 'Is the Grievous captured or dead?'
'No, master,' Anakin denies. 'But something's wrong with [Y/N]. I… feel she's dying. And I heard her voice, crying for help, saying she's been poisoned. She said something about the Chancellor and the Sith Lord. I know it may be another trick, but I beg you to check if she's all right.'
Mace's face becomes grim. He hesitates for a moment.
'Dooku has just revealed the Sith Lord's identity,' he says. 'He claims it's the Chancellor.'
'No…' your husband says, shocked.
'Queen [L/N] was eating supper tonight with him,' the Jedi Master goes on. 'If what Dooku had said and what you feel/hear are true… he could have poisoned her then.'
'Call someone in her apartment then,' Anakin says, panicked. 'Lanash… C-3PO…'
'Her maid is at the Temple. And the Queen is not at her apartments. We… I asked her to pass the latest report from you to the Chancellor. It's likely she's still with him.'
Your husband's face goes pale. It's possible you're not only dying, but you're still with the person who poisoned you. What if he decides to finish you off quicker? What if-
'Skywalker,' Windu says sternly. 'We're on our way there now. But we will call someone at the Senate immediately. You focus on Grievous.'
'How can-' Anakin starts.
'Skywalker,' Mace interrupts him harshly. 'We will rescue her. Don't let your feelings control you. Do your duties and we will do ours.'
'Yest, Master,' your husband murmurs and ends the call. He takes in a few deep breaths. Then he rides fast after his former master, determined. He must get the cyborg, so he could return to you and see you're safe.
Please, let the Force be with her…
*
Dying is not pleasant. Having the man you despise talk to you while it happens, boasting, is even worse. If you could, you'd grab your blaster and shoot him, consequences be damned. But you can't exactly move a finger, never mind an arm.
'Please… shut… up…' you manage to say. To your relief, he does. For a moment. He chuckles and grabs your chin.
'You never should have crossed me, Your Majesty,' he says. You hope you're glaring at him. You can't exactly feel your muscles, so you can't tell.
'He… not… yours…' you try to say.
'Oh, he will,' he assures you. Ha. As if Anakin will forgive him killing you. You just hope he heard you. Otherwise, he may not even know.
Just then the door bursts open. Very angry and injured Hawk walks in. He points his blaster at Palpatine, who is actually surprised.
'Get away from Her Majesty,' he demands.
'Thank… gods…' you sigh. You're no longer relieved when you find a red lightsaber pressed to your throat. But your bodyguard is having none of that. He fires at the Chancellor and he has to defends himself, backing away. The moment he's back in his office, Hawk closes the door and hurries to you. He picks you up and jumps with you through the window. You can only scream in your head. Luckily, you quickly land on some speeder.
'Oh, by the Maker,' you hear Padmé's gasp. You see her concerned face above you soon.
'Poison… help…' you murmur. You're laid down. Your saviors discuss something above you. You close your eyes, feeling so very weak.
I love you, Anakin…
You think you feel his panic and hear his voice, begging you to fight back. Telling you he's on his way, that you have to hold on.
'Drink this, Your Majesty,' your bodyguard says and forces you to drink something.
'What…?' you ask when he pulls away.
'I'm always prepared, Your Majesty,' he explains. 'I have antidotes for most poisons by me all the time.'
'When we get back to Luth, remind me to give you a raise,' you say after a beat. You blink.
'Oh, that was quick,' Amidala says, relieved. You're surprised as well that you can talk again. Maybe not but it's still wonderful.
'The Jedi?' you ask.
'We just saw them entering the Senate,' Hawk answers. 'They will be arresting the Chancellor.'
'I still can't believe he's the Sith Lord,' Padmé whispers.
'I can,' you say. 'He's evil. But how did you know I'm in danger?'
'The Jedi somehow did,' Amidala explains. 'Plo Koon called me, telling me you may be in danger, possibly poisoned by the Chancellor who is the Sith Lord. I found Hawk waiting outside his office. He told me to prepare a speeder and wait outside the windows.'
You smile. Anakin heard you. He must have. And asked the Council for help.
'Thank you,' you say and frown, as you realize you're on the ground. 'When did we get here?'
'A few minutes ago,' your bodyguard explains, amused. 'We should get you to-'
'No, I need to see for myself he's arrested,' you stop him and sit down. Your friends sigh but stay put. They know better than to fight you.
You wait hours. You're worried, but you fear you could become hostages by entering the Senate. You call the Temple but they have no news. They're going to send someone soon.
But before they can, a speeder stops violently near you. Your eyes go wide when you see your husband, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. Skywalker notices you first. With relief in his eyes, he jumps out and runs to you. He grabs you by the shoulders.
'Are you okay?!' he asks, anxious.
'Yes, thank you, what are you doing here?' you ask. 'And how are you here so quickly?'
'Don't ask,' Kenobi murmurs, green on the face. He and Tano leave and sway on their legs.
'He's still not arrested?' Ahsoka asks.
'Doesn't look like it,' Hawk denies.
'We're here to help, then,' Obi-Wan says. 'Anakin, come. We must arrest the man who almost murdered [Y/N].'
'Gladly,' your husband spats and cups your face. 'I'll be back soon, my star.'
Completely ignoring the fact you're in public and that Padmé is right there, he kisses you on the lips with passion. Then, he hurries after his friends into the Senate.
'What…?' Amidala asks, shocked.
'I'm sorry to say this, Your Majesty, but I'm glad he poisoned you,' your bodyguard says. 'Seeing the fury in General Skywalker's eyes I can be sure the Chancellor won't win this fight.'
You smile. Then your eyes widen in panic. You touch your abdomen and look at him with fear. He puts a hand on your shoulder and squeezes it gently.
'You're going to be all right,' he says, staring you in the eyes, letting you know he means the baby as well.
'How can you be sure?' you whisper.
'Trust me, Your Majesty,' he answers. You nod and look at Padmé. There's sadness in her eyes. And you know why. But at the moment… you don't really know what to say.
In the building, Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan reach the Chancellor's office. On the ground are the Jedi and security, dead or wounded. Palpatine is on the ground against the window, shooting lightning out of his hand at Windu, the only standing Jedi, who is blocking it with his lightsaber.
'Anakin!' the Chancellor shouts. 'I told you it would come to this. I was right. The Jedi are taking over.'
'You old fool,' Mace says. 'The oppression of the Sith will never return. Your plot to regain control of the Republic is over… you have lost…'
'No! No! You will die!' Palpatine shouts. 'He is a traitor, Anakin.'
'He's the traitor,' Windu says. 'Stop him!'
'Come to your senses, boy. The Jedi are in revolt. They will betray you, just as they betrayed me.'
'Aarrrrggghhhhh…'
'You are not one of them, Anakin. Don't let him kill me.'
'Aarrrrggghhhhh…'
'I am your pathway to power. I have the power to save the one you love. You must choose. You must stop him.'
'Funny you should say that,' Skywalker says, his eyes cold. 'I was just about to ask why did you try to kill the one I love.'
The Chancellor stares at him with confusion. Then, his eyes widen in horror, as he realizes his mistake. Everything he's done in the last few days was wrong. It wasn't Padmé, but you.
'I wish I could take a photo of that,' Kenobi murmurs. They all draw their lightsabers. The look on your husband's face is absolutely murderous.
'Remember, we take him together,' Obi-Wan says.
'Last time we did that I had to take Dooku myself in the end,' Anakin points out.
'Well, this time we have Ahsoka and Master Windu with us,' Kenobi says, irritated. Skywalker huffs. He really wants to rush at Palpatine and kill him. He was his friend and yet he was lying to him all this time. Grooming him for his Sith apprentice. He tried to turn him against his family, the Jedi. And he tried to kill you, the woman he loves, his wife, mother of his child. But he remembers his teachings and your face. He takes his feelings under control.
'Let's do it, then,' he says, taking position. His former master looks at him with pride and does the same along with Tano. The Chancellor stares at them with horror.
'Anakin, please,' he says. 'Help me! Don't let him kill me. I can't hold on any longer. Ahhhhhhh… ahhhhhhh… ahhhhhhh…'
Mace pushes him out to the edge of the ledge. As the Jedi moves closer, the bolts from Palpatine's hands begin to arch back on him. The Chancellor's face begins to twist and distort. His eyes become yellow as he struggles to intensify his powers.
'I can't… I give up,' he says dramatically. 'Help me. I am weak… I am too weak. Don't kill me. I give up. I'm dying. I can't hold on any longer.'
Skywalker is conflicted. Killing is not the Jedi way. But this man has too much power. And he tried to murder you. But won't they become like him if they slay him?
Always remember, my heart holds you when my arms cannot.
He feels it. Your love for him. Your smile. He almost lost that. Because of the man who he believed to be his friend.
'You won't fool me anymore,' he says, his face hardening. 'This ends here.'
Palpatine is shaken. All those years of careful planning, grooming and playing on two sides… All to one day hold an absolute power with the most powerful Jedi/Sith at his side. All ruined, because he assumed Padmé Amidala is the woman Anakin loves and tried to kill the actual one who holds his heart. How did that happen?
With a roar, three Jedi charge. The Chancellor's face twists in anger and suddenly he no longer appears weak. Windu is thrusted on the wall, then Ahsoka follows. Skywalker and Kenobi start fighting him. But they quickly realize he's far superior than Dooku.
'I have a bad feeling about this!' Obi-Wan shouts when he almost loses his head. His former padawan doesn't answer. Deep down he feels the same and it scares him. What if they lose?
*
Because you still refuse to leave, the medical staff is brought to you and takes care of you. You stare anxiously at the windows of the Chancellor's office, same as most people around now. The lightning show has drawn a crowd.
'What is taking so long?' Organa, who's showed up some time ago, asks.
'Dooku was a powerful Sith,' Hawk says grimly. 'Generals Kenobi and Skywalker had trouble to apprehend him. I imagine it's even harder with the Count's master.'
'But there are more Jedi up there,' Amidala points out. 'Shouldn't it be easier?'
'This man has been deceiving us, and more importantly the Jedi, for years,' you notice. 'It's not something they deal every day. Plus, Anakin and Obi-Wan must be tired. They just have defeated Grievous. And Master Yoda is not here yet.'
No one complains anymore. You sigh and look around. You frown, seeing a few Clones' legions arguing. Cody and Rex are arguing with someone else.
'What is this about?' you ask your bodyguard. He looks where you're looking and goes that way a bit. He returns after a moment, troubled.
'All Clones on Coruscant have been informed the Jedi are rebelling against the Republic and try to kill the Chancellor,' he informs you. 'They're ordered to apprehend the Jedi and save Palpatine. I have no idea who gave that order.'
'Mas Ameda,' you guess and bite your lip. You have no doubt the moment they enter, they won't listen to the Jedi. Or worse, the Chancellor gives the order to wipe them out. Order…
'Help me get to them,' you say. Hawk wants to protest, but he recognizes the determination on your face. He sighs and helps you get to the arguing Clones.
'Hello, excuse me!' you call and they all look at you. Most of them bow. Rex and Cody seem relieved you've decided to intervene. You hate what you're about to do. But you can't let Palpatine win.
'How can we help you, Your Majesty?' the Clone that was arguing with your friends asks. You straighten up.
'The Chancellor is a Sith Lord and has betrayed the Republic,' you say and your stomach twists. 'Execute Order 65.'
'Yes, Your Majesty,' the Clones say in unison and at once march toward the building. Your bodyguard looks at you, confused.
'What is Order 65?' he asks. You stare after the Republic Army grimly.
'Something awful,' you say and explain what you know about the chips to your friends. They all are horrified. You hope soon you can deactivate them.
In the Chancellor's office, the Jedi are fighting bravely against the Sith. But anger at his plans being foiled just seems to make him more powerful. More Jedi has arrived, but they're quickly defeated. Suddenly, the Clones enter and point their weapons at Palpatine.
'Chancellor, you are under arrest!' one of them shouts. 'Surrender now!'
'Execute Order 66!' the Sith shouts. But the army doesn't budge, just repeats to surrender. Palpatine is horrified. He remembers the Clone that new about the chips. It must be his doing.
'NEVER!' he yells and shoots lightning everywhere. Everyone must duck quickly. Suddenly, the lightning is gone. They look up from their hide-outs and see no chance of the Chancellor. They look at the window, where he stood by just a moment ago.
'Did he…?' Ahsoka asks, stunned.
'Looks like it,' Windu replies, grimly. 'We must-'
Before he can finish, your husband jumps after the Sith. Tano tries to grasp him, once she realizes what he's doing, but he slips.
'Anakin!' the Jedi cry out, horrified. But he's already falling.
On the ground, someone screams. More people join and point at the sky. You look up and see someone falling. But then they do a somersault and land on their feet. You go pale once you see it's Palpatine. People scream again seeing his face.
'The Jedi have betrayed us!' he cries out, pretending to be weak, as if he hasn't just survived the fall from very high. 'They tried to kill me!'
People around you are stunned and confused. But you act quickly. You grab Hawk's blaster and aim at the Chancellor. You fire a few times. He staggers, shocked, and falls on his back. Everyone stares at you in shock.
Before anyone can react, they notice another person falling. They turn on their lightsaber. You recognize it's your husband a second before he lands on one knee, his other one bent, piercing the Sith with his weapon at the same time.
People gasp. Palpatine's eyes go wide. He stares at the Jedi he wanted as his right hand with shock. Skywalker stares at him coldly but calmly.
'You won't hurt nor manipulate anyone else,' he says and turns off his lightsaber. The Chancellor sighs and dies. Immediately, he turns into dust. Everyone is even more shocked. Anakin straightens up and turns to them. You nearly swoon seeing him in his command mode again.
'This man has been manipulating us all for years!' he declares. 'He's been the Sith that was pulling the strings from the shadows, playing on both sides of this war. His ultimate goal was to destroy all the Jedi and to gain absolute power over the galaxy. A few hours ago, he tried to murder the Queen of Luth, because she was onto him.'
People start murmuring, shocked, not quite believing it. But Padmé and Hawk join in explanations, and soon enough other Jedi show up and provide evidence. The public seems to completely calm down and believe it, when Yoda shows up.
The public is told to disperse. The army, the Senate and the Jedi start their investigation and gathering evidence. The Grand Master walks to you.
'Almost died because of us, you did, Your Majesty,' he says and bows his head. 'For that, we apologize. And grateful for your role, we are.'
'I knew what I have gotten into,' you assure him. 'Thanks to you, Hawk got to me in time.'
'The Force doing, it was,' Yoda says. 'A reason for bringing you and Skywalker, it had. From the beginning it, I suspected. In more ways than one, your love saved us.'
You smile at him. He winks at you and touches your abdomen. You look at him with worry.
'Not to worry,' he assures you and takes his hand away. 'Protected by the Force, the child was.'
You exhale with relief. Grand Master smiles at you and goes to Windu, who's called him. But at once Obi-Wan is at your side.
'Are you fine?' he asks, concerned. You nod.
'Master Yoda says there's no reason to worry,' you say and glance at your bodyguard. 'As it turned out, Hawk always carries antidotes for poisons with him. I must give him a raise.'
'Definitely,' Kenobi chuckles. You both look at the place where Palpatine's robe and dust from his body are laying.
'It's really over, isn't it?' you ask. The Jedi nods.
'Now that we know we were manipulated, we can talk about peace with the remaining Separatists' leaders,' he says. 'And then… we will finally have peace.'
Your eyes land on your husband. He keeps glancing at you, but he's needed in the investigation. Obi-Wan squeezes your arm.
'Your relationship kept him from the Dark Side and allowed him to bring balance,' he says. 'I don't think the Jedi Council will stay in your way.'
'That's not the only problem we have,' you sigh and smile. 'But the most important ones are out of the way. We won.'
'That we did,' he confirms, smiling at you fondly. 'And now I'll go there and allow him to check on you. Just try not to reveal your relationship just yet.'
He winks at you and you laugh. He hurries away. A moment later Skywalker basically runs to you. He barely resists taking you in his arms.
'We're both fine,' you assure him. He exhales with relief. You touch his arm, worried.
'How are you?' you ask quietly. 'I know it wasn't easy for you.'
'In the end the choice was easy,' he says after a beat. 'Mercy is the Jedi way. But sometimes to protect others we have to be strong. If he stood trial, he would have gotten away with it. He had too much influence. He knew that. He relied on me being against killing him too much. And I probably would have. If he hadn't tried to kill you.'
You smile at each other. You lean slightly to him and he mirrors your action.
'I really need a hug from you,' you confess. He smiles weakly.
'Once this is over, I'll hug you for as long as you want,' he promises.
'How does forever sound?' you whisper. He grins.
'I'm yours,' he answers. 'Forever sounds very good.'
*
Anakin has no idea what time it is. It must be well after noon the next day after… everything. He's exhausted. But he has to do one more thing before finally going to sleep.
He knocks on the door to your apartment. A minute later Axe, clearly exhausted himself, opens the door.
'General,' he greets him. 'Lanash told me you might stop by. Come in.'
'Thank you, Commander,' Skywalker says and enters. 'I must admit, I didn't expect you to open the door.'
'Lanash has fallen asleep on the couch, we're all determined not to wake her,' Woves reveals, smiling. 'And C-3PO is with the Queen. She's on the balcony.'
The Jedi nods his thanks and heads to the balcony. He stops when he sees you sitting on a chair, staring at the Coruscant. Threepio is by your side, pouring you tea. He's the first to notice his maker.
'Master Anakin, how good to see you safe and sound!' he exclaims, overjoyed. You turn your head and smile when you see your husband. His heart skips a beat as usual.
'You are so beautiful,' he says. You smile.
'Anakin,' you say, extending your hand toward him. He quickly crosses the distance between you two and kneels by your side. He takes your hand and presses it to his cheek. You gently caress it and he closes hie eyes with a sigh, finally relaxing a bit.
'Why aren't you resting?' you ask. 'You must be exhausted.'
'I had to see you first,' he murmurs and looks up at you. 'Make sure you're really all right.'
'I am,' you confirm. 'And I'm still closely monitored. And guarded. In case some sympathizers of Sidious decide to kill me. Ridiculous, but everyone insists it's a real possibility.'
'Well…' C-3PO starts, nervous, and you both look at him. 'There have been already two attempts on your life, Your Majesty, ever since you returned to your apartments. And one on the way.'
'What?' you ask, stunned. 'Why no one told me about it?'
'Not to upset you, Your Majesty,' the droid answers. You sigh and look at Skywalker. He doesn't look surprised.
'You knew,' you guess. He nods.
'Hawk informed me right away after each attempt,' he explains. 'I am his king, you know. And, more importantly, your husband.'
'I think I should know as well, since I am the one that they tried to kill,' you pout, crossing your arms. The Jedi chuckles. You glare at him. He grins and you're no longer mad.
'I guess I must be a sensible person and leave the balcony not to tempt fate,' you sigh and attempt to stand up. Anakin is quick to assist you and helps you back inside. There he guides you to the bed and you both sit down. Threepio leaves to bring tea for Skywalker as well.
'How are things?' you ask.
'Complicated,' the Jedi answers after a beat. 'People have troubles accepting that the Chancellor was evil. We're gathering more evidence but keeping everyone calm is hard. And tiring. Yoda forced me and Obi-Wan to take a break. But I guess we both will go back to it in a few hours.'
'Not if I have a say in it,' you say. 'You promised me something, remember?'
He smiles and opens his arms. But you stand up. He looks at you, confused.
'I want it like that,' you explain. He stands up and you fall into his arms. You both sigh, finally feeling whole. He kisses the top of your head.
'I was so worried,' he whispers after a beat, his voice emotional. 'For a moment I thought… that you… I couldn't bear it.'
'I was so scared I won't see you ever again,' you admit with tears in your eyes. He hugs you tighter. He can't even tell you how happy and relieved he is to holding you like that.
'I'm sorry,' you whisper suddenly. He frowns.
'What for?' he asks.
'He was your friend,' you answer. He gulps.
'The man I thought was my friend never existed,' he says after a pause. 'He was manipulating me, everyone. Except for you. You saw him for what he really was.'
'Well, not exactly,' you murmur. 'I had no idea he's a Sith and that he's behind all this. I mean, I suspected something after I talked to Fives, but I didn't expect that.'
'Still, I have the smartest woman in the galaxy as my wife,' he says with pride. You chuckle and look up at him. You grin at each other. He leans down and nuzzles your nose with his. You sigh, content.
'I was way too close to losing you today,' he says quietly, looking at you with pain in his eyes. 'Well, yesterday. And I almost let the Dark Side consume me.'
'But you didn't,' you say strongly and put your hand over his heart. 'You showed everyone you've trained diligently and that you are the Chosen One. I'm so proud of you. Not because you defeated the Sith Lord, although for that, too, but for showing them you can control your fear and anger.'
'I can thanks to you,' he murmurs and kisses your nose. 'Every time I find myself lost, your face shows up in my head and a question forms. Would [Y/N] be disappointed if I did that? If the answer is affirmative, I know not to do it.'
You laugh. He grins. He missed that laugh so much. He wants to cause it again and again.
'I love you,' you say at the same time. This time you both chuckle. And then you kiss. But it's interrupted by a sudden shout. You jump away, startled.
'My lady?!' you hear Lanash's voice, as she bursts into your bedroom. Behind her, Axe looks at you with apology. She deflates seeing Anakin.
'Oh. Hello,' she says, blushing.
'Good afternoon,' Skywalker greets her, amused.
'I am so sorry,' your maid apologizes. 'I woke up and realized I nodded of and I was so worried-'
'It's understandable,' you assure her. 'Thank you for caring about me so much.'
She opens and closes her mouth. She sniffs and bursts into tears. Woves' eyes widen in alarm and he makes a move to comfort her. But you're faster and in a moment, you have her in your arms.
'I'm all right,' you tell her softly. 'I'm alive and I'm going to be okay. I'm not going anywhere.'
'I'm sorry I wasn't there,' she whispers. You hug her tighter.
'You were where you were supposed to be,' you assure her. 'We wouldn't have gotten the truth out of Dooku if it wasn't for you.'
'Wait, what?' the Jedi asks, confused. Lanash blushes and you chuckle. You glance at amused Axe. He nods and looks at your husband.
'I was interrogating the Count,' he starts. 'It wasn't going well. He was more amused than intimidated. He started to making some remarks about me. My darling girlfriend was outside, watching it with some Jedi. Eventually, she got fed up, got a frying pan from somewhere and stormed into the cell, raising it high and started yelling at Dooku.'
'You did what?' your husband asks your maid, astonished. She hides her red face in her hands.
'It was beautiful,' you say. 'The Jedi recorded it and were happy to show it to me when I found out about it. The Count was actually really terrified for a moment.'
'I was scared and her anger wasn't aimed at me,' Woves admits. 'Anyway, she yelled that if he offended me one more time, she's going to hit him so hard it would hurt even after he died. Then two Jedi rushed in and tried to restrain her. She hit them with the frying pan. Then she took a swing at Dooku. But I stopped her and gently led her out. The Count was very cooperative after it. I think he was both afraid of her and impressed by her.'
'I'm impressed, too,' Anakin says and grins. 'I have to see that recording.'
'And I have to leave,' Lanash groans and hurries away. Axe winks at you and closes the door.
'When is he going to propose?' Skywalker asks after a moment. 'He's head over heels for her.'
'If he won't do it until the end of the year, Satine and I are going on a protest,' you inform him.
'I will join,' he declares. You look at each other and laugh. You hug again.
'Can you believe it's finally over?' he asks. 'I know we still have to finish the war but with the Sith that steered it all gone… I feel like it's already over.'
'I feel the same,' you admit. 'And I can't believe it either. But I know it's true. And I'm happy I got to see it with you.'
'I'm glad you took a chance on me,' he says.
'I'm happy, too,' you whisper. 'My heart is yours and I wouldn't have it any other way.'
'I am yours completely,' he says and kisses your head. 'Utterly. My soul is devoted to you. Now and forever, my star.'
You smile at each other and join your lips. And at that moment, for the first time in years, you feel peace.

Codywan week - day 2
The thing I've written for day two of the @codywanweek. You can enjoy reading on Wattpad, Ao3, or here. Thanks to the all of you who give my short story a try. I'm aware that this is not a good work so don't be afraid to criticize.
Prompt: aro / ace codywan, "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man." - Patrick Rothfuss - The Wise Man's Fear, beating rival suitors off with a stick
  Cody loved Obi-Wan.
They were best friends. They could be something more. Only Cody could never be enough for Obi-Wan, he could never give what was expected of him in a relationship. It didn't matter that he loved Obi-Wan, that Obi-Wan maybe even liked him back. Cody couldn't do romantic relationships. It was hard to remember sometimes, especially when Obi-Wan was looking so damn comfortable sprawled on Cody's bed, scrolling on his phone.
Cody heard his friend snort. "Found something funny?"
"When I'm without you, I want to rip someone's guts out. Because that somebody might love you too, and only I have the right to love you Obi-Wan. I love you so much, you make me feel alive, and for longer than I remember, I've been dead on the inside," Obi-Wan read from his phone screen.
"What the fuck even is that?"
Obi-Wan was too busy laughing his ass off to answer. If it made Obi-Wan laugh like this, Cody might consider writing a bad love poem himself.
"It's from Maul. Should've expected his way of asking me out to be creative."
  "More like deadly."
The problem with Obi-Wan was that he was handsome, kind, smart, overall attractive. He got many love confessions from girls and boys alike. Cody hated it. Obi-Wan never really expressed any interest in any of his admirers but that didn't mean Cody wasn't jealous. He guessed he didn't have to be jealous of Maul, there was no way Obi-Wan would even consider going out with that guy.
"Are you going to help me to think of an appropriate response?" Obi-Wan asked. It was ridiculous, really, Obi-Wan was the one who had the right answer to everything.
"Since when is a no not enough?"
  "Since now."
"What about... 'Maybe you should hang out with a mind healer instead'?"
"Cody." Obi-Wan gave Cody his famous disapproving gaze. "Now that would be just uncivilized. It's hardly an appropriate answer."
"And his bad poem is not an appropriate way of asking you out."
"You've got a point. But still..."
Cody just wanted to go and shot Maul in the face. Too bad Obi-Wan would think that uncivilized.
It didn't take too long and Cody was already regretting his decision not to shot Maul in the face. Maul kept texting Obi-Wan. And as if it wasn't enough, Obi-Wan had the feeling that Maul was stalking him. He kept meeting Maul on random places and Maul would always try to initiate a conversation.
Cody finally snapped when he saw it with his own eyes. Maul, that bastard, hitting on Obi-Wan, his beautiful, innocent Obi-Wan. That was the last straw.
"Hey, Maul!" Cody yelled. Before Maul could fully turn around, Cody was already poking him with his new found sword - okay, it was just a random stick he just found but it served it's purpose - in the right direction: away from Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan wasn't all that happy with that. Cody didn't care. Maul deserved this and much worse.
"Why would you even do this?" Obi-Wan asked when Cody refused to admit he made a mistake. Because he didn't make a mistake. Chasing Maul away with a stick was the right thing.
  "Isn't that clear?"
  "No."
"Well, maybe because he was hitting on you? And stalking you? And didn't listen when you kindly told him to fuck off?"
  "That is hardly your problem."
"Of course it's my problem!" Cody argued. "We are friends." You are the love of my life.
"Friends don't normally beat each other's potential interests with a stick!"
"Potential interest?! Maul?! He's a walking red flag."
"What if he wasn't? You've never been supportive of me developing a relationship with... well, anyone," Obi-Wan accused him. It wasn't fair. Cody tried to support Obi-Wan and his relationship. It wasn't his fault that none of the people around Obi-Wan were worth his amazing friend. He wasn't responsible for his crush on Obi-Wan either, that was purely the other's fault.
"Maul doesn't deserve you. No of your suitors do. And just so you know I'm not biased, I don't deserve you either." Did he really just say that? Well now, shit.
"What exactly did you mean by that?" Obi-Wan asked carefully.
"I-" What was Cody supposed to say? "It doesn't really matter."
  "I think it does."
"I might have a crush on you?" Cody admitted. He continued before Obi-Wan had the time to say something. "Just forget about it, it's just a silly crush. We can- we can still be friends." At least Cody hoped so.
"Cody I- I had no idea you felt this way..."
"Obi-Wan, just. just forget about this, plea-"
"No, Cody, I- I have a crush on you too. Have had since... well, for quite some time," Obi-Wan confessed. That wasn't what Cody expected. And it also wasn't the happy end that it probably should have been. Because Obi-Wan deserved someone better than Cody. "We could- we could try to make this work."
  "It won't work, Obi-Wan."
  "You don't know that!"
"I do. You deserve better, Obi-Wan."
"I know you, Cody. You are the best man I could ever hope for."
"You deserve someone better, Obi-Wan. I'm asexual. I can't give you everything a proper boyfriend should. You deserve more than I can give you."
Obi-Wan looked to be considering Cody's words. Then he gripped Cody's hand. "Is this okay?"
  Cody nodded.
Obi-Wan cupped Cody's jaw with his other hand. "Is this fine?"
  "Yeah."
Obi-Wan smiled at that before gently pulling Cody into a keldabe kiss. "What about this? Is this alright?"
Cody's breath hitched at how close they were. If he leaned a little forward, their lips would touch. That probably wouldn't be alright. But this, just standing close, with their foreheads touching, this felt nice. "This feels good."
"This is all I need, Cody. Simple touches. I don't need anything more."
Cody felt his cheeks flushing, his lips curling into a dumb grin. "You mean... we could be together. Like this. Nothing more."
  "Nothing more."
  Cody loved Obi-Wan.

symphony (bard!tav x astarion)
Tumblr media
My first official fic for BG3 and this was a fun one to start with!! The song that came on shuffle was Cody Fry's I Hear A Symphony - Live From Ocean Way Nashville. The first thing I thought of was a bard playing it, so that's what I went for. Kinda short, but a little drabble never hurt anyone.
Like I said, this is my first BG3 fic and therefore my first Astarion fic. I've privately written him recently, but this is my first public release of my interpretation of him, so I'm sure there's some discrepancies in his characterization. That being said, I'm always open to hearing constructive criticism, just be gentle with me.
Please enjoy!
word count: 840
warnings: N/A unless sweet sweet fluff is something you're wishing to avoid... or if you don't like real life songs being used in fantasy settings lol

Tumblr media
It was just like any other night at the camp, a strange mix of people forced into companionship by unlikely circumstances minding their own business. Shadowheart sitting in thought at her tent, Wyll making conversation with Karlach about their adventures of the day, and so on. Tav is sure the others are doing interesting things as well to wind down for the night, but she isn't too concerned about them. Instead, she sits by the fire, pretending to simply be staring off into space as she strums her lyre idly, but in truth, she's watching a certain vampire across the way. He's reading a book like he often does. She's not sure of what the contents are, she's not interested in it anyway.
She stops her hand for a moment and starts thinking of the song she had composed a few nights before and just hadn't been brave enough to share until now. It was rare for the bard to be nervous; her pieces usually were just silly little ditties made up on the spot about something funny that happened while out with a small party of her companions. Those didn't warrant a fear of criticism.
This, however, was different, it's fully written and memorized. It's special, it's a song with a specific muse. And she's not quite sure how this muse will react when he hears this pseudo-confession.
After some thought, she softly begins to sing with her eyes closed, "I used to hear a simple song, that was until you came along," she takes a breath to steady her shaky voice, "Now in its place is something new, I hear it when I look at you," she finally opens her eyes with the last word, immediately meeting Astarion's through the flames of the fire. She can't quite read his face, but when can she ever? He's pretty good at keeping his thoughts tucked away from any detection when he wants unless she uses the tadpole connection to enter his mind. She would never though; she understands the need for privacy and consent with everyone, but especially with him.
So, instead, she begins strumming her lyre and continues her song:
With simple songs, I wanted more, Perfection is so quick to bore, You are more beautiful by far, Our flaws are who we really are,
It was then she saw recognition on his face, a smile threatening to grace his lips. He was holding back, but she was fine with that. The corner of her lips become upturned as well, she's more than happy to smile for the both of them at the moment. She stands up, finding her usual confidence again at his acknowledgment. And all at once, in her mind and in this moment, it is just her and him alone in the camp. No one else exists to her.
I used to hear a simple song, That was until you came along. You took my broken melody, And now I hear a symphony.
She does a few vocalizations to fill the gap between the last stanza and the outro, all the while never taking her eyes off the pale elf who has given up on keeping his lips from forming a smile on his face.
And now I hear a symphony.
She strums a few more notes before ending the song, standing there by the fire with a stupid lovesick grin. She watches as he walks over to her while clapping a few times, "What a beautiful melody," he compliments, "I wonder who could have inspired such a poem."
Tav laughs at his theatrics, rolling her eyes as her cheeks heat up, "A mystery," if he was going to tease her, she'd play the game as well.
"Well, whoever they are, they must certainly be quite special to you."
"He is," she says, her voice filled with nothing but honesty, "I hope I'm even a fraction as special to him…" she trails off, looking at him softly before becoming self-conscious of her implications and looking away.
Astarion is quiet; it takes him a moment to realize how vulnerable she's being in the moment, how honest and open. A soft smile takes form on his lips again before leaning to kiss her forehead, "More than just a fraction, darling, much more," he says gently, just loud enough for her to hear.
After a few seconds of blissfully staring at each other in silence, clapping can be heard from another spot in the camp, followed by Shadowheart quietly scolding Karlach for ruining the bard and rogue's sweet moment. Which is then followed by the others all figuring out who won the bet of how long it would take for one of the two to confess having actual feelings for one another and who would be the one to make the first real move. (Lae'zel won both, plus a bonus prediction of how Tav would confess, though it wasn't much of a surprise considering she carried an instrument around like it's a necessity in life she can't live without.)

Fic Writer 20 Questions
Thanks for the tag, @merlyn-bane!
1.) How many works do you have on ao3?
Eight!
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
217,911
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
*sobbing* Star Wars, my beloved. The brainrot is real; I am consumed. When I was still on FF.net, though, I had stuff up in Harry Potter and How to Train Your Dragon.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
back then, i was dauntless
how to bring him home
if i don't make it back (from where i've gone)
though some would harm you
like lightning changing hands
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I absolutely do! I feel bad because I know I've gotten some lovely comments on chapters that aren't the most recent one, and those tend to get lost in the inbox, but I promise I'm working on it- if you get a response from a comment you left a year and a half ago, don't hold it against me 😅
I do it because I want so badly to build community here! I love getting comments from people, responding to something with a wee hint of a tease because I'm AWFUL and then getting a keysmash of a response and then exchanging snippets in the comments, truly, it fills me with delight- and I've met some absolutely wonderful people who I got introduced to by responding to comments-
Anyway. Community. That.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh. Hm. Hm.
I... guess it would have to be though some would harm you? Although I'm not sure if I feel confident in that designation, because it's very much part of a multi-work series. And I'm too much of a sucker for happy endings to write a stand-alone fic that doesn't have one, I think.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh, neural plasticity, for sure! Short and sweet <3
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
A bit. I can brush off the "actually the Jedi were the real monsters" assholes easily enough, but honestly, the comments that hit the hardest are the ones that clearly come from people who think they're offering ✨constructive criticism.✨ Not only because I didn't ask for it, but also because saying my work is "fatiguing" or "I'm sure there's a decent story here, but it's being buried under what you're trying to do with it-" there's nothing constructive there.
Side note: the person who left that last comment deleted it about half an hour later, because when I went to reply, it had vanished from my inbox. I don't know if they did that because they didn't want me to be able to reply, or if they realized that what they said was unhelpful and mean, but if they ever happen to see this-
I still got the email, prick.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Write? No, I haven't quite worked up the panache to try. Reading, on the other hand...
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I do have snippets of one crossover that I actually posted in an anonymous collection, ha- an old BBC Merlin/ Good Omens/ Supernatural fic that I dug out of my old documents. Other than that, no- unless you count the Prequels and the Clone Wars as different enough to qualify as a crossover.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also not that I know of- very much open to it, though!
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Since I don't think taking drabbles in tumblr chats to ridiculous lengths counts, I'd have to say no- I'd like to, though!
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
Codywan. Fiercely, unwaveringly Codywan.
Just to reinforce this- 292 of my bookmarks consist of Cody/Obi-Wan. The next most common romantic pairing (Aziraphale/Crowley) has less than half that, at 121.
I'm a goner, and I can't even bring myself to regret it.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
OKAY SO I've written snippets of a modern AU focusing on Helix, Needle and Stitch, and I'm totally gonna take this opportunity to rage about it. I'm probably never gonna finish it, but it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, so, hey- what else is fic for, really, if not for indulging yourself?
At first, it's just Needle and Stitch. It's just been the two of them, for as long as Stitch can remember. Needle's only a few years older than him, but he's raised him, kept him in school, kept a roof over their heads and food on the table-
Food on Stitch's plate, at least.
Then, one night, Needle does not come home.
A hit-and-run, the nurse tells him, although the words will not trickle through until much later. A coma.
He will not, they say patiently, come home for some time.
(There is so much that needs doing.)
Helix, meanwhile, is studying physical therapy at the local community college and working part-time at his brother Ace's bakery.
It's during one of these shifts that a skinny little twerp comes in and hands him a job application.
(Rent and bills and Needle Needle Needle-)
It doesn't take Helix long to realize something is... off.
Ace tells him not to push it, but-
The kid's a good worker. Great, as a matter of fact. He's never late. Stays past closing, too, if they've had a rush. He tells Helix about his brother and nothing else.
(His brother hasn't come to visit.)
Everything that's not sold at the end of the day gets packaged up and given out. They only toss in the dumpster what's really, truly inedible- stuff that got dropped in the kitchen, scraps left over from customers-
He thinks it's raccoons, at first, until he peers in and sees Stitch flatten himself against a heap of bags in the corner.
They package up leftovers for him, after that. A bit more than leftovers, maybe. Ace sets aside sandwiches. Helix buys him a thermos and tells him it's been in the lost and found for over a year. They make sure he eats.
(Needle's getting transferred out of the ICU.)
Stitch is trying. He's doing everything he can, and more besides. But Needle's life is too expensive and he's buckling under the weight.
(He hasn't even grieved. Not really. No room. No time.)
Eventually, something has to give.
He does.
(He hadn't expected someone to be there to catch him.)
Featuring:
Helix stumbling into adopting first one, then two idiot kids
Ace being a supportive brother
Needle finding his way home
Mace Windu as Needle's (unfairly attractive, Helix thinks) neurologist
Obi-Wan as a hospital social worker who gets assigned Needle's file
Cody as Obi-Wan's husband, Helix's cousin, and children's book author (Stitch's favorite)
(listen I am WEAK for author!Cody, truly)
(Helix was totally the one who got them together and he regrets it every day of his life.)
Sheev Palpatine as the epitome of the evil of the American healthcare system
The Melidaan crew running a long-term, non-profit care facility that offers both in-patient and out-patient rehab services
16.) What are your writing strengths?
(I'VE PUT TOO MUCH THOUGHT INTO THIS. SHIT.)
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
I am, apparently, really good at writing breakdowns. >:3
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Dialogue does not come easily to me. I have to work a bit to hit my stride. But I think it turns out well enough!
Hm. Coming from a purely technical perspective here, I think the reader should be able to understand everything that's spoken in a fic. If a character says something in another language, then I think the best way to convey that is, "X muttered something Y didn't catch," or, if the listener recognizes that it's at least in another language, "X muttered something in French."
If the reader should understand it, then something along the lines of: "'I knew we shouldn't have trusted him,' X muttered in French."
If the POV character doesn't understand the language, it doesn't make sense to provide the reader with a perfect transliteration of what the other character is saying. The character wouldn't have that knowledge. It can really take me out of the fic when two characters suddenly start conversing in written-out sentences in another language, and I have to scroll all the way down to the footnotes for translations.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
But then again, that's just my opinion- I'm sure others have their own thoughts on this!
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
Harry Potter.
Hell, I have to say like lightning changing hands, if only because whatever fic I'm writing at the moment is my favorite. It's the act of creation that does it for me!
(Also because it's such a good opportunity to explore so many relationship dynamics.)
No-pressure tags for @jedi-enthusiast, @themonopolyhat, @shadow-pixelle, and @foreverchangingfandomsao3!

Hello there! Look at this, two fills in a day, maybe I'll catch up after all! Here's day three: Cloak, from this Star Wars 'tober prompt list by @dankfarrikdrabbles & @fanfoolishness. Have a tiny thing of pre-relationship CodyWan. (Cody is so done with the Generals dropping their stuff everywhere, but at least his General looks good doing it.) Title for this one is Are you picking up what I'm putting down? and because it's so short, I'm just putting the whole thing here, but you can also read it on Ao3.
Cody finds the General’s cloak on the ground, marking the epicenter of the battle. Typical. He’ll admit he doesn’t quite understand why the Jedi bother with the cloaks anymore – surely, the Jedi cloaks are already know to every person from Coruscant to the edges of explored space, and possibly a few beyond. Maybe that’s part of the whole Force-osik thing. They wear the cloaks; people forget they’re Jedi. Or that Jedi can be dangerous, anyway.
Cody can get behind the theatricality of it all though. The dramatic cloak drop has its purpose. He just wishes the General would remember to pick up the damn cloak afterwards.
It’s alright though. Cody’s got it. Gives him an excuse to go find the General in his quarters, too, check up on him properly. He said he was fine when they talked over comms briefly, to confirm the victory and coordinate clean-up, but Cody knows his General.
---
“Ah, thank you, Commander,” Kenobi says when Cody hands him the cloak, in the door to his quarters back on the ship. He’s in some of his lighter tunics now; fresh from the sonic, by the look of his poofy-ruffled hair. Not hiding any injuries as far as Cody can tell. “I completely forgot that in the rush of things.”
“Of course, Sir.”
“Have you written your reports yet?” Kenobi asks, then continues before Cody has a chance to respond, “Of course you haven’t, you’ve just gotten back. Say, why don’t you grab a shower and I’ll get us both some food; we can work on them together over dinner? I’ll put on some tea, too.”
“Of course, Sir, thank you,” Cody says, because he would like that and because it’s the safe thing to say. Then, because Cody has always been a bit of an asshole, and he knows Kenobi delights in it when he lets it show: Try not to forget the food in the rush of the mess, Sir.”

I was talking about Clone Wars to my friends (We have a chat called Trash Can Chat and it has a picture of R2-D2) and this rant came up.
Disclaimer: I am not done with the show. But I know enough to know I don't get all of this. Second disclaimer: I am aware that Clone Wars was meant for a younger audience and that there are reasons it was written the way it was. I love it, I just also have feelings and wish we'd broken it down a bit more.
You want to really make Order 66 Devastating?
SHOW ME more than the 501st. (Who did really get a short end of the stick no lie)
Show me the 212th which from everything I've read was one of the most loyal battalions in the whole fucking war.
Show me snippets of Plo's clones with Commander Wolffe. Show me why they were so loyal beyond one fucking episode. Show me Aayla and Commander Bly. Show me Fox and how not having a Jedi probably doomed him in a way.
Show me the clones starting to realize that if the war ends they have no purpose, but also the Jedi promising to fight for them AS people. to give them rights. Show me the bond between both sides that made the jedi trust them at their back so unequivocally.
Do all of this so that WHEN Order 66 hits, you're watching characters you KNOW would rather die then pull this off. Show me Cody's entire personality gone in a flash when you've watched two or three seasons of him putting himself at risk to keep Obi-Wan alive.
Show me Wolffe and Bly and their relationships with their jedi growing and that trust morphing, and those individual personalities shining.
So that when those personalities are TAKEN AWAY, you ache. When the culture the clones have created is wiped away to blank slates and good soldiers follow orders you know what they've lost. What you've lost.
TLDR: I have a lot of feelings and wanted to see more clones.

Hi! I thought it would be fun to invite some peeps to share a lil about themselves if they so desire. Absolutely feel free to delete this without a second thought! ☺️ But if it pleases the jury…
What do you like to do most on tumblr — write, draw, read, etc?
Any favorite fics, with a tiny summary and why they’re so good? It’s ok if it’s your own! 😜
Three of your favorite blogs to follow and why?
Favorite SW character and why?
Ok, I suppose I’m done interrogating. 🤓 Toodle-oo!
Hi Free! Thank you for the questions :)
What do you like to do most on tumblr — write, draw, read, etc?
I like to read other people’s works, look at artwork (because I can’t draw and I’m always so impressed by those who can), and I like to write.
Any favorite fics, with a tiny summary and why they’re so good? It’s ok if it’s your own! 😜
I have read some amazing long fics and one-shots, but I’m not going to mention any. I’m always concerned I might hurt someone’s feelings, and I don’t want people to think their fics aren’t worth the time if they’re never recommended in something like this. :) (If you’re actually interested in what I’ve read, you can check my tags “drabble recs” and “fanfic recommendation”.) So, I’ll mention the fic I’m currently writing as it’s been therapeutic and allowed me to work through some of my personal issues.
Three of your favorite blogs to follow and why?
Every blog I follow is unique and amazing. To pick only 3 is tough, but here we go:
1. (@dystopicjumpsuit) DJ has written such incredible short and long fics that deal with genuinely raw and human emotions, feelings, experiences, and insecurities. I love the variety DJ has written (seriously, you can find a fic/ one-shot for any itch), and their blog has so many diverse stories and even drink recipes (I don’t drink and I’m fairly mediocre in the kitchen, but I’ve wanted to try some of DJ’s recipes because they look so fun).
2. (@starstofillmydream) Molly has written a seven-part (and ongoing) series of Commander Cody headcanons. Cody is one of my favorites and I love how niche yet realistic these headcanons are. I also appreciate the discourse and nuance Molly brings to Cody’s character, especially since she appreciates his character as the individual he is rather than devaluing him to a relationship status.
3. (@freesia-writes) I have to mention you (Free) because I enjoy seeing the chains you start. The engagement you bring to this community is positive and inclusive and it’s such a refreshing breath from some other fandom communities I’ve encountered. From your writing of so many clones, to the fun drabbles you do, I love what your blog offers the community.
Favorite SW character and why?
This one is hard because I have two: Wolffe and Thrawn.
Wolffe was the first SW character I truly came to love. His sarcastic, easily irritable personality, along with his stalwart loyalty, sheer intelligence, and strategic mindset (and his general badass vibe!) easily make him the SW character I have so much appreciation for. But the thing that made him stand out to me: in one of the comics, Wolffe gives a group of deserted clones an opportunity to prove themselves loyal rather than be punished for desertion. I’ve always thought it was a testament to his emotional intelligence and true leadership that he was willing to give these men an opportunity to regain his trust and loyalty. Wolffe is that type of character with a gruff, rougher exterior but deep down is emotionally driven to protect his brothers. And I think it’s admirable of him. I know we have minimal canonical information about him, but I love his character so much.
Thrawn is one of those characters I never expected to like but he forced himself into my life and I can’t go back. (I have to clarify, I am talking about Zahn’s Thrawn, not Filoni’s.) Thrawn in the Ascendancy trilogy brought so much nuance to his character. I like how he helps other characters reach their full potential, and is always challenging others to be the best version of themselves. He has this urgency to protect his people but also his galaxy, and the way he gets righteously angry with the enslavement and destruction of species in his part of the galaxy, along with his decisions to help these people, even when it means invoking the frustrations and dislike of leaders against him, makes him such a fascinating character to me.

20 Questions (plus a bonus) for Fic Authors
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
24
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
222,958
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently: Riverdale (and I have an ongoing Zack & Cody fic)
Past: Doctor Who, The Magicians, and Star Wars
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Haven't broken 100 kudos on a fic yet but I'm close!
I. My Dearest Korkie with 91
II. 6-2-4-8-4-6-3 with 75
III. Plums and Mugs with 70
IV. Casualty with 69
V. Kindness in Lies with 54
5. Do you respond to comments?
Every. Single. One. I love them. Fuck me up with questions about what you've just read. If it's not spoiler-y then I'm happy to explain. Hell, even if it might be a tad spoiler-y I still will lol.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oof... that would probably be a tie between We Had Fun (the main character just straight up kills people) or We Belong Together (where it seems like the couple doesn't actually end up together, but I promise they do!).
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I love making people cry. I used to say "if you're not crying, I didn't do my job". But um... do WIPs count if I already know how they are going to end? lol
I'm going to say for finished I Only Have Eyes For You (This will make you cry) and The Magician Queen (this is a classic Holiday Hallmark Happy Ending)
For WIP (that is actually finished I'm just not posting all at once) The Suite Adult Life
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet. I welcome thoughtful critiques though!
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
LMAO. By looking at my repertoire you would think the answer is "no". However, I literally wrote a collection of short stories just to write smut. It ended up more tame than expected and very romantic. BUT I do have some pretty explicit scenes in some stories.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
No. I've just not been inspired and I tend to stay away from reading crossovers.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No :(
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I've tried to get people to write with me.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
OMG that's like asking who my favorite child is? I mean that's just so unfair- it's Jeronica. Jughead/Veronica is my heart and soul. 80 years of sexual tension just can't be beat lol.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I hate to say it but... I don't have any. I think Not Another Riverdale Love Story (nicknamed Narwals) is the closest. But I know how it's going to end and I just posted chapter 7 and am currently working on chapter 10. OO! I know, it's pure porn. Just pr0n all day long. Rockin Around The Christmas Tree. I have two out of the four chapters posted. I have the last chapter 75% of the way finished. I just have to write smut for one pairing and then it'll be finished.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Existing dialogue and minute details. I like to use and reimagine current dialogue of the shows into my stories. And I drop blink and you miss them hints throughout.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut. I've gotten a lot of compliments but I still think I suck at it lol.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'm pretty good at French but I love writing dialogue in another language. I don't write whole scenes in it. But I have two characters that know passible Japanese so I dropped some in a chapter. But I make sure to translate in the ending A/N.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Sailor Moon!! All the way back when NO ONE knew what fanfiction was.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh goodness... I love them all for different reasons. I think if I were to do this as Word Association it would be My Dearest Korkie. It's G-rated and less than 400 words but packs a punch! I think it really proves that a G-rated short short story can be just as good as a 300k+ multi-chapter E rated fic.
Bonus Question
21. What story of yours do you think needs more love?
The Suite Adult Life - I wrote this without knowing the show existed until I was suggested clips on YouTube. I never watched the clips, I just did one google search, read one synopsis, and one relationship timeline. Then out popped 100k+ words... I'm still kind of baffled by it lol.
Tagging- anyone else who wants to participate!

Changing The World
—————-
Chapter 1- A girl that stares
   ●●|Kenny's POV|●●

Another win against creed. Nothing new there. I'm in the last round of SFV and this one is for all the marbles. Of course, I chose Cody, and Creed chosen classic Ibuki.
Obviously, he didn't last long since I crushed him in the final round. After we all came to immense, I walked down the staged and noticed a light skin, dark eyes, black-haired woman looking at me.
This wasn't just a regular look, it was a look as if she likes what she sees from me. She's been staring at me during this whole gaming event but now it's starting to really catch my attention.
She looked beautiful but sadly I had to go and get on my next flight back to Japan.
I told the bucks goodbye as I was about to get in my car and I saw the woman again as she was getting ready to leave as well. Without hesitation, I walked over to her before it was too late.
"Hello," I said to her. She turned towards me and flashed a cute smile at me.
"Hi." She said. Wow her voice sounds more beautiful than I've imagined.
"I've noticed you were staring at me earlier. I didn't know if it was a creepy look or you were  just showing an  interest look." She laughed a little and started to blush.
"I'm sorry about the staring. Yes, I was showing some interest. You're very good at Street Fighter." She said and I started to smirk, trying not to be arrogant but she was right.
"That's very true. I've practiced a lot over the years." I said. She crossed her arms and smirked at me.
"I see. I play street fighter as well. You may be good but, I doubt you can beat me.." She was so confident in her answer. I just laughed. "Is that a challenge?" I asked.
"Yes, it is." She said. I smiled and crossed my arms while giving her a daring look.
"Oh, you're on. I'm supposed to be in Japan tomorrow but I'm up to take your challenge. Does tonight at eight work for you? I know a great arcade we can go to."
I was hoping she was available. I wanted to get to know this girl more. "Sure. Eight works for me. Let me give you my number."
She grabbed a pen and some paper from her car and wrote down her number for me. She handed it to me and got in her car.
"Wait before you go, what's your name?" I asked as she started her car and looked at me.
"It's Valentína Rose, but, you can call me Val for short." Her name is beautiful.
"What a beautiful name. If you didn't know, my name is Tyson. Tyson Smith." She nodded her head and smiled. "Nice to meet you, Tyson.
Looks like I'll be seeing you later."
She gave me a wink and drove out in her car. Wow, looks like I got my hands full on this one.
A/N: Hello!! I’m new to writing on Wattpad! I written this story back in 2018 in my freshman year of highschool and I wanted to give it a try here on tumblr! Here’s to know about me I love wrestling, anime, and Kpop! I hope you guys enjoy this series. I got 8K reads on this book from Wattpad! It’s still in the works but I’ll be uploading chapters every week!🩷

Fic Writer 20 Questions
I was tagged by @texasdreamer01 😊
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
9, though some of them are only visible if you're logged in.
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
64,757, not a lot but there's nothing wrong with that.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Star wars, lots of Star Wars. I think I wrote for Yuri!!! On Ice before? I used to write for Marvel, I did a little bit of Phantom of the Opera (very little), I have some unpublished Avatar the Last Airbender fics, and I am currently writing for Our Flag Means Death 🤭 I hope around depending on what I feel/am hyperfixating on, but ultimately it always comes back to Star Wars.
4.) What are your top five pics by kudos?
Fighting For Your Power - one of my first published Star Wars fics. Definitely not my favorite and also unfinished, a common occurrence with my ever changing brain.
If I Could Hold You For a Minute (Darling, I'd do it Again.) - Codywan. A little hurt comfort thing that takes place after the Rako Hardeen incident
Orbital Decay - another Codywan fic, probably my longest posted fic at this point in time.
And cowboy is his name - a short little bobadin cowboy au that I'm thinking of adding more onto, whether it's little snippets or an actual story is to be seen.
To Be A Good Soldier - a Commander Cody fic, kinda my own little headcanon as to how he got his scar.
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, it just takes me a while to get there. I'm always a little slow on the up taking. I reply to comments because someone took a brief moment of their time after reading my story to let me know their thoughts, and it means the world to me, so the least I can do is respond to their comments.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
A fic that no longer is on AO3 🙈 I took it down after a couple years of like....no one reading it, and decided to keep it to myself, like a dragon. The story is hurt comfort without any of the comfort lol. Poor poor Garashir, doomed by the narrative and also me.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oooooh let me think. Recently they all have happy endings because I myself need one. Uhhhhhh. Probably Orbital Decay. My babies get together very tentatively at the end.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Ehhh my fics don't get seen by a wide enough audience I think. The only 'hate' I've ever gotten was someone demanding me tag something, but it wasn't even very hateful so. No I guess not.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Once upon a long time ago, but I haven't in ages and frankly it makes me uncomfortable to write, always has.
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't, it's not something that holds my interest.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of...😳
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
No sir-y
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes and no? It's a collaborative fic, but I'm not the one writing it, I just had the base idea and give more ideas for the concept and squeal and cry over it.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
It changes with the tides, but how can I pick one set of my beloveds over another?
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
All of them. Lol uhh I really really wanna get the Codywan AU fic written, but I'm at a point where I currently don't have it in me, I don't have much writing in me at all right now.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. I love dialogue. I've also been told, and I have to trust what people tell me, that I'm very descriptive and also know how to write a fight scene.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Lack of confidence in my skills. Inability to finish what I've started. Making sure I'm keeping people in character, and also I tend to lack in the plot department.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Well, I think so long as you...ugh this one is tricky cause I don't know how to phrase it. I like to write in other languages in very very small doses. A little smattering here and there. But also, I feel like it's important to know the language you're writing in or consult someone who does for accuracy? Idk how to explain it.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel. Marvel. And more Marvel. I had a very long story (with no actual plot) posted to a different site, and then took to writing people's requests for Marvel ship fics for a time.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
Uhhh idk To Be a Good Soldier? I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it will be the little OFMD fic idea I had, but who knows.
Softly nudging @poibynt @missypup @frostbitebakery and anyone else who might like to do this

Crown Jewel 2024 Reactions
So like last ppe I will give my final thoughts! If you see no reactions it’s because I didn’t have any for that match.
Bloodline OG vs Bloodline Lite
Winner: Bloodline Lite
It was interesting. I’m not sure how I feel about the outcome but I can gather the concept that the OG bloodline isn’t complete until it is actually complete. There’s too much bad blood. That questionable non tag to Roman from Jey was already tricky for me.
The after of the match with the obvious shenanigans was a little predictable because we know Sami was coming. I was good with that. But, that accidental kick. Hmm. Great. How does The Pebble get involved in the future? Let’s see.
Women’s Tag Team Fatal 4-Way match
Belair and Cargill (c) vs Sky and Sane vs Jackson and Legend vs Greene and Niven
Winners: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
This match was fantastic! Iyo had a few issues there but that’s okay! No injuries I hope. Chelsea did her comedic part with a few good moves there. I’m not sure about y’all but I’m going to need to see Cargill vs Legend someday! All 8 of these ladies did so good!
Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed
Winner: Seth Freakin’ Rollins
Women’s Crown Jewel Championship match.
Nia Jax ( WWE Women’s Champion Smackdown) vs Liv Morgan ( WWE Women’s Champion Raw
Winner: Liv Morgan (With help)
Another waste of my damn time. Listen I’m glad the ladies got to come out and represent (as a person I’m great with this, everyone needs to flex on!) but as a fan I’m over the cheating. I’m also annoyed Tiffany didn’t cash in and it’s giving useless contract for me.
Some wins need to come WITHOUT distractions and assistance. This was one of em. Any belt for that matter… Again, as a person I am not knocking this because this is huge for women in this industry anyway, and I am proud Liv as a person is doing what she wants to do and being heel and making it work, but as a fan I separate kayfabe from reality and my fan side DON’T WANT NONE.
Kevin Owen’s vs Randy Orton
Winner: None. The match never happened. I’d be kind of angry if I was a filler segment but it’s Crown Jewel…so…we just chose violence.
WWE United States Championship Triple threat match.
LA Knight (c) vs Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes
Winner: LA Knight (Yeah)
That turnbuckle doesn’t like them. Iykyk. lol.
Impressive as always from all three.
Men’s Crown Jewel Championship
Cody Rhodes (Smackdown Undisputed WWE Champion) vs Gunther (Raw World Heavyweight Chamion)
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Somehow I imagine they weren’t going to have the King/queen of the ring also be Crown Jewel champions. That makes sense to me. Was a crazy match though. Great to watch. I appreciate the handshake at the end however.
Overall
I have to begin this with the obvious because my wrap up is short. Those are some FUCKING UGLY BELTS. AND I saw the post show and so those belts remain in Saudi Arabia and they get rings. You could have JUST MADE THE PRIZE THE RINGS.
Everything is else is written above. Aside from the belts being basically made rings, it’s like when you make a replica for a miniature. We just had huge versions made human size. I just…I don’t get it. Overall everyone just make your money. As I said as a person, everyone did what they needed to do, as a fan, I don’t want some of that lol.
And I do want to say I realize I sound quite negative when it comes to the women but I’m not trying to be. These women do amazing work and have amazing talent and no matter how it was won she is the first and I’m proud of all of the women when they achieve firsts in this business. I must say again I separate kayfabe from reality! So as a person I’m all for it! As a fan of the brand…god she’s gonna he insufferable!
Thanks for reading!

🤡, ✨️, 💖, 👀, 🤩, 💔
From this set
🤡 What’s a line, scene, or exchange you’ve written that made you laugh?
I usually only get the giggles out of my own writing, but I’m counting that! The latest giggles:
Cody is not processing well through numb exhaustion. “Sir, you're going to have to walk me through whatever political osik–”
“For kark sake,” Fox snaps, “he's treating us as an independent polity, demonstrating the Jedi Order’s belief we're an independent polity. Meaning not Republic property. So when we are contacted by the Republic they're working off the base assumption we're sentient and independent. It's basic anchoring psychology and political maneuvering.”
“Basic to you maybe,” Wolffe grumbles as everyone else stares at Fox. “The rest of us are running on fumes.”
“Or spite,” Alpha-17 adds.
“Oh no,” Fox snarls at Cody; Cody is sure he is sporting a manic look. “No, no, no, no, you do not get to stick me with this!”
“Everyone in favor of Fox as Head of State,” Cody calls, “hands up now.”
Every hand other than Fox’s (and Kenobi’s) shoots up.
✨ Give you and your writing a compliment. Go on now. You know you deserve it. 😉
Oh gosh... I do some pretty good dialogue, in my opinion.
💖 What made you start writing?
Well, you see, I’ve been reading so long, and then playing Role Playing Games enough, and then read enough fanfiction I didn’t like the writing of that I though ‘I can do that. Possibly better.’ So... I started trying. And haven’t stopped yet.
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
I am planning out a collection of interconnected short stories in a modern setting with magic that only works if people are touching that I’m excited about! I have the first story written (and am reasonably proud of it) and a second draft of the second story but that one it going to take many more drafts because it’s not quite gelling as it’s own, complete story yet.
🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?
Right now, my favorite character is the protagonist to my transhumanist, post-apocalypse road trip story: Izzy. They’re just so damn tired of the absolute shit that has been their past six years and their ticket off planet are just so damn dumb about survival. I enjoy writing their snark.
💔 Is there a fic of yours that broke your heart?
Ah... no. Maybe one or two should have but I had the thing where I stared at and reread my own writing enough that it sort of all... blurred. and/or went numb to the emotional impact.

A pretty good list of the best Codywan fics you will ever read:
I recently noticed I had a very sweet ask about Codywan fics recs but I didn’t realise saving drafts of ask replies wasn’t an option so I accidentally deleted it. If you are the lovely anon who sent that message on (I believe) the 29th of October, I’m sorry for not seeing it sooner, and here is a list for you!! A definitely-not-comprehensive guide to Codywan fics because I'm actually only a few months into shipping them myself. These are just some of my favourites.
I mainly read modern AUs but I’ll try and come up with a good variety so hopefully, there’s something for everyone. Also I’ll @ the writers who have accs on here because they deserve all the praise and credit in the world (but do let me know if you’d prefer to be untagged!!)
Modern AUs
An incredibly sweet oneshot featuring Teacher!Cody hosting a parent-teacher conference and a very overwhelmed Obi Wan trying his best to raise Anakin. The characterisation of Obi Wan in particular just makes my brain go brrrrrrrrrrrr because it reminds me of how he's written in the canon novels, as in you get to see a side of him that isn’t so polished and held together. The most unconventional yet adorable meet-cute ever. I have read it many many times.
THIS FIC. Oh my gosh. I've read it three times so far and I just adore it. It's an AU based on the movie Happiest Season (although I personally think this fic is far better than the movie). I'm always here for Christmas fics and they're always quite hard to find in my experience and yet here is this absolute gem, heavy with plot and drama and the most wonderful use of canon characters and dynamics.
I've spoken about this fic by @kckenobi before and I will do it over and over until everyone on earth has had the privilege of reading it. This is, without a doubt, the best fanfiction I've ever read. I can say that definitively. My recommendation for this would be to download the playlist that goes along with it. There's a link in the notes of the final chapter. Ngl I have Apple Music so I had to individually search for each song and add it to a playlist but it is beyond worth it. Aside from the writing being phenomenal, listening to the songs while reading is honestly life-changing. I have such a soft spot for classical and orchestral music and when I tell you you won't be able to look at any other fic without thinking about what a magical experience this one was, I'm not lying. The Codywan is quite minor compared to the rest of the plot but it is incredibly sweet and feels very natural. This is great if you like Obi Wan-centric fics.
This one is very special to me because it was one of the first fics I ever read in the fandom. This author (I don’t think I can tag them but their user on here is the same as their ao3) in general has been integral to my Codywan journey and there's so many of their works I've had the pleasure of following the publication of in such a short amount of time. Another unconventional meet-cute, which just seems to be a trope that suits this ship down to the ground.
But my personal favourite fic of theirs is Natural Wonders, a Photographer!Cody and Park Ranger!Obi Wan au, because I followed the publication of it from start to end and it was an absolute blast. This author's work ethic is unparalleled. Just take a look at the range of fics they've written. It's seriously impressive. Truly one of the best writers to begin with if you're new to the ship because they've done so much. You’ll be able to find basically any genre you like the most and every single one is insanely well written.
This fic is so sweet that reading it will rot the teeth right out of your head. This is by the wonderful @legobenkenobi who is not only the loveliest person ever, he is also a remarkable writer. Cody and Obi Wan work in a library together, Obi Wan comes in with a cat, which belongs to neither of them, out of absolutely nowhere one day (which is the most in-character thing I’ve ever heard) and the fluff ensues from there. While you’re there, read everything else he’s written because every single fic should be put in a museum.
Canon Compliant/Divergent
Cody and Obi Wan get married by accident. It sounds lighthearted and funny, which it is a little, but it also feels like hugging a thousand knives at once. This author manages to capture the painful longing between the two men that would be present in the canon-verse. It's under 1k words and yet they manages to inflict so much pain so quickly. There's something so delicate about the way they write and it's such a poignant, heartwrenching take on what is usually used as a solely comedic trope. I don’t read angst that often but every word of this was beautiful.
This fic is just... I can't even describe it. It's so in-depth. I feel like you really get to experience the Star Wars universe here. There's so many characters that are usually underutilized in fics, but not here. It features blind Obi Wan and how this affects his experience as a Jedi and as a General. It’s tactful and magnificently written. You really get to go on an adventure with the characters and it's so rich in plot and follows the actual plot of parts of Clone Wars but with such a unique perspective added. The story just slots so nicely into canon. I don't want to spoil too much but it's such a fascinating take on Obi Wan's character. Also!!! It explores so many relationships that canon itself neglects to. My personal favorite other than Codywan is Obi Wan's interactions with Ahsoka. This is still an ongoing fic so get in while you still can. You won't regret it, I promise.
This is also one of quite a few times where I've been a fan of someone's work before joining Tumblr, only to realise after following them that I've been reading their work for ages. @foreverchangingfandomsao3 you are immensely talented. Thank you for writing such an immersive story. I am in love with your take on Obi Wan.
This is another ongoing fic by the lovely @farores-oak-tree. It's a post-order 66 fic and it's so so so good so far. Other than Codywan's inevitable reunion, what I love the most about this is how it uses its other characters. Sabé features heavily and I always wanted to see her again so this was a delightful discovery. Again' I don't to spoil too much because its still being posted but there is such an interesting use of canon events. It's been so much fun so far so please give it a read if you like post-order 66 Codywan. This could be the plot of Kenobi S2 and I would completely believe you. It's so good.
This is another fic I read and absolutely loved and then started following the person who wrote it on here without realising. @frostbitebakery is behind this particular work of art. This is a Sith!Obi Wan AU and honestly it’s the only one you’ll need. I really love the way it’s structured and I don’t know if this makes sense, but this author has something about their writing style that is so careful and distinctive and you can see that same style coming through in their art style too (seriously, have a look at their art, it’s absolutely insane). It’s so detailed and you can feel how much time was spent on it. Such a delight to read.
Another recommendation of a work I’d been subscribed to who I think is actually written by a mutual of mine. I’m not certain about that but regardless, I can’t begin to express how much I love it so far. It’s another ongoing fic. I have a thing for fics that detail how Cody and Obi Wan first meet because canon does nothing to show this. If it turns out this is actually how they met and how things unfolded for them, I would completely buy it. It just suits them so much. It feels so true to their characters. It’s so natural and it flows so well. I could read a thousand chapters of this.
I could recommend so many others but these are the ones I always think of when people ask for recommendations. I think I put the usernames of everyone who has an account on here but I’ll keep looking in case I missed anyone. I’ve been in a lot of fandoms but I genuinely mean it when I say Codywan authors (and artists) are the most accomplished I’ve ever seen.
