I mean, he likes to just stare at you as if he's watching the prettiest person in the world, but when Seungcheol wants to be especially flirty, he stares at you fondly and smiling with the whole intention to make your heart skip a beat, he even glances at your lips, as if he were trying to say something. Most of the time that's enough to make you really, really shy but when is not... Geez, he has to breathe in and ends up pouting a little (Probably one or two pecks will make him feel better).

Jeonghan. Teasing.

Is like his default love language, making harmless jokes to see you flustered all over him is just so fun to watch. But, is he really just trying to be a teaser, or is there something else behind? "I took the chair, but you can sit on my lap" he said one day, sitting at your desktop, with the most mischievous smile possible. But you didn't fall for his charm and as you kept your annoyed face, he stood up and sighed "Okay, all yours". And you better be ready because he's not forgetting so easy, and will keep teasing you just a little (yeah, a little) more than usual.

Joshua. Back hugging.

When Joshua wants your attention only and only for him, he goes where you are to hug you from the back, resting his chin on your shoulders and crossing his arms around your waist. Oh, he loves it so much is so tender, but he gets lowkey hurt when you don't react in any way because, how come you don't realize his intentions? Is really doing the dishes way more important than his warm hugs? Now, this is personal and Joshua won’t let you go, take it as a punishment for being so clueless (reward or punishment?).

Jun. Tickles.

For him, tickles is the perfect excuse to be closer to you. It's so obvious that hurts lol. Most of the time you melt in his touch, and you both end up laughing and sharing some kisses, but sometimes you're minding your business, too busy to realize that Jun wants to get your attention. Better get ready because you'll have a pouty little cat going around the apartment, and will NOT forget your offense unless you give him extra cuddles before bed.

Hoshi. Random "facts".

At the least appropriate time, he would come to find you. "Did you know that there is a minimum number of kisses that a person should receive per day to be healthy?" he says with a very serious expression on his face. And there you are, standing in the middle of the living room while you're brushing your teeth; your soulless expression says all. Hoshi turns around and pretends nothing happened, but in his mind, he's sitting in the corner staring at the walls.

Wonwoo. Making compliments out of nowhere.

He likes to pour you with sweet words, like how much he appreciates your homemade food, or that you did it great at work. From time to time, he thinks is fun to be a little sassy and his praises are very, very intentional. “New gloss?” he says, grinning at you “It looks good” and for some frigging reason you just start talking about how you got it? Babe, Wonu doesn’t care that much that you bought it because your favorite gloss wasn’t on stock, but now he feels a little shy to speak and just lets you tell the whole story.

Woozi. Playing with your hair.

When it comes to be openly flirty, Woozi tends to be a little coy. You rarely notice it since it's very common for him to be around you, caressing your hair and playing with the strands in complete silence. So when you get distracted he places a strand behind your ear, exposing your neck. But when he's so close to place a kiss, you jump like a scared kitten. "No! It tickles!" Woozi looks down, defeated, as you move away. "Sorry, be right back" and he locks himself in his room for the next hour.

Minghao. Holding your hand.

He thinks your hands are more than just pretty. Hao likes to take one of them when you're sitting by his side, scrolling on your phone or watching TV. He's so subtle that most of the times you don't feel how he traces your hand with his fingers and when you realize, it’s because your hands are intertwined and he’s holding his laughter. “How low you’ve been like this?” but Minghao just giggles. You end up doing the same and then resume your activity, letting him laughing low in embarrassment and biting his lips as a sign of frustration.

Mingyu. Resting on your lap.

He's very straightforward when it comes to flirting with you. Mingyu likes to wait patiently for you to sit on the couch or the bed and then he goes, at first making some (pretty obvious) questions "What are you doing?" "Is that a new book?" and as you're talking, his hands rest on your thigh, gently stroking your skin with his thumb, but you're so immerse in the topic and he goes completely unnoticed... And before you even notice, there's a flustered Mingyu resting his head on your lap, tracing small circles on your thigh as if he had been punished.

Dokyeom. Taking photos.

He already has a folder with your name and an unhealthy number of photos; Seokmin just never gets tired, you're so used to it that most of the time don't realize that he's actually trying to hit on you. "Just let me take a picture, you look so beautiful today!" And after giving him an awkward smile, you're getting back to your stuff.  Seokmin is a bit disappointed but with a bunch of new photos of his precious person, so is not that bad (at least is what he says to himself trying to not lose his mind).

Seungkwan. Scolding.

I know, it may sound like a bit harsh but when he's scolding you, Seungkwan tries to make it as tender as possible, it doesn't feel like scolding and actually, he uses this as a cheap excuse to be extra lovely. "Don't sleep too late, you're getting dark circles" he says in a soft voice while caressing your checks "you're too pretty for that, don't you think?". He waits for you to take the bait and when you laugh on him, saying that he's being a little dramatic, Seungkwan doesn't hide his disappointment. "Okay, keep watching your series" he says getting up from the couch "but don't you dare to complain later!"

Vernon. Placing his arm on your shoulders.

A classic that never dies and his favorite, Vernon likes to do it all the time: when watching movies, chatting, watching videos together; is a like a very subtle invitation to get closer to him, and somehow, most of the time you’re just minding your business and leave him waiting for you to notice. And yeah, he’s very patient, but everything has a limit. "Come here, babe" then he places his hand on your shoulder and brings you closer to his chest. And don't you dare to move, because there's no way he let you go now.

Dino. Calling your name.

Usually, he calls you by pet names or your name in diminutive, reserving the use of your name for special occasions. However, it doesn't always end the way he expected. “Did I do something wrong?” you ask him just after he called you by your name, and when Chan sees your big doe eyes, his smile fades. “Is just that… I feel like you’re mad at me”. At this point his intentions doesn’t matter anymore, he just hugs you and tries not cry in his disappointment.

So Watcher is launching a Dropout (it's not called Dropout but they're clearly using the same template format platform thing idk what it's called, and the same pricing structure), and the reaction so far has been wildly different than what I remember from Dropout's launch. I was curious about why that was or if I was just misremembering the Dropout launch, so I went back to the Dropout launch video to compare them and I think I can see where some of the difference is coming from.

I wanna clarify first though that this isn't a knock against Watcher or the fans who are reacting one way or another or anything like that, I genuinely am just fascinated with how different the reactions are to what seems to be the same business decision. This also isn't a 'wow watcher sucks and dropout is so much better' I'm just using them for comparison because they did the same thing with different results. ALSO this isn't about the business decision itself, just the presentation! Disclaimers out of the way, here's the analysis.

Title and Thumbnail So the Watcher.tv announcement video is titled "Goodbye Youtube" and the thumbnail is Ryan, Shane, and Steven sitting on a couch looking serious, with a dark background. That really makes it seem like they're quitting (which, ok, they are quitting youtube but not quitting quitting). Viewers are already primed to be upset, and it's easier to go from upset to angry than upset to excited, curious, or neutral.

Compare to the dropout announcement video: "How the Internet is Ruining Comedy" - inline with other collegehumor video titles, might make you curious. Thumbnail - Big News! with Sam smiling and a bright background. We know its big news, but he looks happy, and the exclamation point let's us know they want us to be excited. Viewers are primed to be curious and excited.

Tone The Watcher announcement has 2 main tones. The first half is very sentimental, almost sad or wistful at times, and while there are parts that veer into pride at achievements, it's mostly bittersweet and sentimental. The second half is a bit more uplifting, but still quite serious. It reminded me of a tech announcement, like when they introduce the new iphone or something like that. Very professional, sleek, and serious, which isn't automatically a bad thing! But I do think that's not the vibe a decently-sized chunk of the audience expected or wanted. Many people watch Watcher for the cast's dynamic with each other, humor, and the more relaxed/conversational/friendly feel that most of the series have.

Compare to dropout - excited and comedic tone. Still professional, but also fits the expectations of the viewers. People watch collegehumor for the humor (it was in the name, after all). They also poke a bit of fun at themselves, which lightens the mood, shows self-awareness, and alleviates some of the bad feelings about paywalling.

Focus The Watcher announcement focuses a lot on the creative journey of the cast and company, as well as how this move will benefit them. Which isn't a bad thing, that's actually quite interesting! The problem here, I think, is actually more about what isn't here - a solid explanation of how this will also benefit the viewers and why the viewers should be excited. There's a brief description of one new show, and the promise that existing shows will get an upgrade, but we weren't given many specific details about how they'll be improved, and there's only one new show to tempt us into subscribing. Some people will be excited for that, some people won't, and some people will be excited but not enough to subscribe. Having 2 or 3 series (even if it's 1 fleshed out plus a few teasers of what's in production or what is being planned) plus some more details about how existing shows will be improved would've helped. Without that, it really does seem like it'll just be the same stuff viewers were getting for free, but now paywalled, rather than new and exciting stuff. That makes a big difference. I think with the fans not getting as much focus, this also led to some (accidental, I hope) hurt feelings. Based on what I've seen from fan reactions, all the talk about hitting the peak of what they can do on youtube and wanting more, translated for many people to 'youtube isn't enough' which became 'you (the current viewers) aren't enough.' Which I don't think was their intent! But I also don't think fans are wrong for feeling hurt by that.

Compare to dropout: They clearly explain how the move will benefit fans, and reassure viewers that existing content will stay where it is, and only new content will be behind the paywall. (Watcher clarified this too, but in a comment. It's not in the video itself, which is a huge problem.) They include clips of several new (at the time) series that would be premiering on dropout, including things that specifically could not be made on youtube (due to weed, violence, and sexual humor), so the reason for the shift is clear to the audience.

Advertisers Both videos contain the sentiment that being monetarily successful on youtube means working to appease the advertisers, and that over time what the advertisers want and what the creators want drifts further and further apart, putting strain on the creators.

However, I think the message gets lost a bit in the Watcher vid. Instead, it leaves viewers with the idea that the main problem is just ads are annoying instead of advertisers putting constraints on content. I'm not even sure what the specific constraints are for watcher, because they didn't give any examples. And the focus on ads being annoying leaves viewers frustrated because people typically either don't mind ads or they already have an ad blocker.

Timing and Size Okay, this isn't exactly about presentation, but it is still a factor that impacts perception so I'm tackling it. And I'm actually going to do dropout first. CollegeHumor launched dropout in September 2018. Pre-pandemic, but also pre-Sam Reich as CEO. The company was still owned by IAC. It was a Company, and while it wasn't huge it wasn't tiny either. So launching dropout was a Company Decision, a Business Strategy. Some people were upset about, but it wasn't a personal betrayal (generally, anyways). If I remember correctly, this was also not a high point for the company. They kinda needed dropout to do well to keep things running smoothly (which is why they shut it down and sold it to Sam just 1 1/2ish years later), so the sudden shift made sense.

Watcher Entertainment is a company, but it doesn't feel like one. Ryan, Shane, and Steven own and operate things, but they're also the faces, and they're youtubers. Which makes every business decision they make feel more personal to viewers, especially those who have been watching for a long time. They've also seemingly been doing well on youtube, which makes it more difficult for viewers to understand why the sudden change is happening now. They do talk a bit about it, about the company expanding and wanting to do things that advertisers don't like (which I've already covered). However, mostly the choice to start a streaming platform is framed as 'the next big step' without much clarification on why it's the next big step. Plus, it's post-pandemic, and a lot of people are still struggling financially with the ripple effects of that. Yes, $6 isn't a wild amount of money, but there have been some months where $5 absolutely meant the difference between paying all my bills or not, and I know I'm not the only one. This, coupled with a lack of clarity about why exactly they're doing this, leads to fans feeling hurt, betrayed, bitter, and frustrated.

Now, presentation and framing isn't everything. No matter how perfect your announcement is, some people are still going to be upset. It's a big change, of course people will be upset! But I do think a more careful presentation would've alleviated some of the hurt and anger that fans are feeling. While I do think a lot of the reaction we're seeing is due to the decision, I think (based on what I've seen) that some of it is also based on the poor communication in the video itself, and that could've been avoided!

So I'm gonna get a little speculative and describe what I would've done. In this hypothetical, they've decided to launch the streaming service and brought me on just for the announcement.

Firstly, switch the title out. If they're married to Goodbye Youtube then add a (and hello...?) after so it's at least obvious they aren't fully quitting. The dark color scheme of the thumbnail fits their regular vibe, but they want everyone to be excited so they should look excited. Next, let's lighten the tone up. Being proud of what they've done so far is great, but we don't need the sentimental music and bittersweetness. Remember, the goal is to get viewers excited about what come's next - so let's focus on what actually comes next! Talk about specific show plans and mention why they wouldn't work on youtube. Then, take some time to reassure the fans. Predict a few likely worries and address them in the video. Acknowledge that it's a big change, that it will take time to get used to, and that not everyone will be onboard, and let the fans know that it's ok if they aren't onboard.

Like I said, this wouldn't fix everything. There are a few differences in between dropout and watcher that don't have anything to do with presentation. Dropout launched with primarily new shows rather than new seasons of existing shows, and they continued uploading to youtube relatively regularly in addition to the content behind the paywall, which I do think went a long way to keeping fans happy. At this point it's unclear if watcher will do either of those or not. But, while I don't think it would fix everything, I do think improved communication in the announcement would've helped.

L supposes he doesn’t really mind having you around, it’s bad but not as bad. You’re intelligent, your skilled and you know how to handle yourself. Though, he isn’t a fan of you being apart of the Kira case for obvious reasons

Repeat it, L loves short girls so his significant other being shorter than him is like his actual dream. They are cuddle-sized and easy to keep track off. Even with how hunched he is, L is still packing quite the height and he towers you so suspect him to rest his chin on your head

L is not a teaser about height, he’s a helper. You’re struggling to reach something high, he’ll get it for you. He will analyse the situation and suggest using a step next-time but at the end of the situation, he’ll help in anyway he can

L is a introvert so he understands your overall timidity. If you don’t want to be around the others, he will set up a private room for you that none of the members can access, including him if wanted. He has the money and power to do whatever the fuck he wants, and he is the spoiling type of boyfriend

Yes, I mean that L would send you money if you need it, he will rush around the headquarters to find your favourite blanket, he’s out the door the moment you mention a milkshake you’re carving. He will do stuff for you since you do so much for him, by merely being apart of his life and changing from him a glorified machine to a real human

The way you shyly approach him and Light to hand over the documentation files Watari gave to you whilst he was baking, is just so cute. Internal L is laying on the floor joyous at how adorable you behave, whilst external is politely thanking you

L isn’t built with any muscles(besides dem legs for real) but he isn’t above being protective over you, because he is. Light scared you with that one time he impersonated Kira to a horrifyingly good degree, L is gonna calmly argue with him then get into a fight

Though, nobody else can do these things with L. Hold his hand, brush his hair, hug him. Nothing like that is allowed for anybody besides you and well to a degree, Watari but that’s different. You are always allowed in his private research room, most of the time, he wants you there besides him as he works

A cute weird thing L lets you do is latch onto his back. He does have a BAD back from the ten+ years of hunching but he loves feeling you clung onto him like a Koala. You are too shy to do it around the members but that won’t stop L from throwing you onto his back himself. He misses it

L keeps track of everything you like, do and more. He basically has a encyclopaedia of you and can recall every little detail. To him, knowing you like the process of scrubbing through hours worth of camera footage, is important as it shows how devoted he is to you

So tell him everything. He won’t forget any piece of info and he’ll write it down later as a needed backup, like he does for everything else non-Dokusha related. There’s two parts of his mind; Detective and Dokusha. He likes the Dokusha section a lot more

L is very loyal. Do you think he has anybody else waiting? Most women call him a freak for his looks and/or behaviour. You’re his one and only, he can’t throw you away, he just wants you sat besides him all the time. Where he can turn around and know you’re still with him

“Where do you think you are going?”

Only one more step and you would have been out of the house but not today. Gulping, you clutched the door handle tightly in your fist and turned around to face the owner of the voice. It’s not like the person is anyhow unfamiliar to you or someone you are scared of. Well, yeah the person who you want to avoid rather you should unless you want to be in a big trouble. Turning around on your heel, you kept your gaze on the floor, suddenly finding it the most beautiful and appreciable thing in your life. You could feel the approaching footsteps but not daring to look up because why will you when you are damn aware of the person before you. Your panic state didn’t go unnoticed by the approaching person. Now, you could smell the cologne of the man and the close proximity between you two was making your mind scream loudly inside. Two fingers brushing your cheeks sliding down to your chin and grabbed it, forcing you to look up. Due to the sudden impact, you closed your eyes, still could hear the chuckle left from his lips. Even when your eyes are closed, you could still feel the well built muscular body towering over you. Another hand brushed your hairs and tugged them behind your eyes. Your heart racing and mind screaming but you just wanted to run away from the current situation.

“Open your eyes baby.”

No. Please let me go out. You were mentally begging him to let you go but nothing was coming out of your throat and so you just gulped the lump. Not reacting to his words, he gripped your jaw tightly and you could feel his breath fanning over your lips. You tried to bend backwards but his other hand placed on your lower back pulled you closer towards him.

“Didn’t you hear what I said? Open your eyes. Let me see the pretty eyes of my baby.”

His voice was a lot more dominative than before and you didn’t want to make him mad so you slowly parted your eyelids. Eyes couldn’t focus on his face due to the fact that you were closing them so tightly previously and also this man being so close to you that lights couldn’t make up the image properly for your eyes. Flattering your eyelashes , you were then staring to those attractively seductive eyes as it could hipnotiza you. Anyone could have felt weak for these eyes and him in such situation including you but not when he being your brother. Well, correctly stepbrother. You were damn aware of the treatment that a step brother should have for his little sister but in your case, nothing was near to that fact check. You were literally living with two damn tease who constantly stir up every situation to flirting and teasing.

“Did you ask us before leaving?”

“I- I was just going to tell you.”

“Really? It doesn’t look like that. It was as if you were going somewhere else to avoid us tonight. Is there any reason?”

You were trying to voice out some words but the way his fingers were brushing over your lower lips. Oh gosh! It’s not helping your condition.

“Answer him.”

Okay! Time to leave now. The only thing I have to do is to push the man in front of me and quickly run out of the door before the other one can descend the stairs. Eyes dancing on their forms, mentally you counted to three and you pushed him. He got startled due to your sudden action but was quick to catch your hands.

“Step one more. You will regret it later so much.”

“Someone is being a stubborn today, you know.”

“Where was she going Jaemin?”

You could see him smirking on his brother’s question before replying to him, he winked at you with lips sending a flying kiss to you. The biggest tease in the household. You glared at him and when you looked at the other one, he was already glaring at you darkly with clenched jaw. But you were getting distracted how his biceps were well reflected under the bright lights because of his black sleeveless tee.

“I was asking her that before you made your entry on our private time. Jeno got no jam.”

“Shut up Jaemin. You are literally standing at the entrance in a massive hall and saying private time.”

“But there is no one around.”

“I am here. Well, getting back to her. It’s past curfew time and where is she going even all dolled up.”

Both of them expecting an answer from you, waiting for your reply but you chose to remain quiet. You tried to wiggle your hand out of his grip but he held it tighter and Jeno was satisfied with his brother’s act. You stared at the older one who had already seated himself comfortably on the sofa and staring back at you both, gesturing his brother to pull you towards him.

“I was just going somehwere.”

“Where?” Jeno asked with a lot more husky voice.

“T-to to meet someone.”

“Now?” Jaemin with a frown on his face turned towards you.

“Yeah….”

“Who?”

You looked towards Jeno before thinking twice as it would be safe to tell them or not but you chose death.

“My boyfriend.”

“Since when do you have one?”

“We are just going to meet today to get along with each other so he invited me to his house for a sleepover. He is my old friend.”

“And you thought without telling us, it would be fine for you to just sneak out of the house and have fun.”

“No Jeno look I-“

You didn’t notice when Jaemin went behind and wrapped his arms around you to hold you flushed to him. His nose snuggling into your wavy locks on your shoulder and neck.

Whispering ‘baby’ ‘pretty’ ‘princess’ in your ears, breathe tingling over. But the next thing he whispered made your eyes went wide.

“Tell him you can’t make it today.”

Jeno read your actions precisely and noticing how you pressed your legs together, his brother’s every little action was getting a reaction out from you. Honestly, he was enjoying the view more than he could describe but the moment your eyes went wide, the corner of his lips rose on knowing what was the possible reason behind that. Moreover, he found everything cute.

“Do it. What ever he is telling you, work it.”

“No no I can’t.” Jaemin’s grip was strong and the way both of them hit the Gym, you were well aware that you couldn’t stand any chance in front of them.

“You can do this but you can’t go out.”

“Please.”

“Call him yourself or I’m going to do it. What do you want?”

Snatching your purse from the hand, he hurriedly rummage into it to find your phone. Found it, unlocking the phone, he went through all your contacts and text messages until he found out your precious friend. How come he knows my password?

Dialing the number, he kept the phone in front of you with speaker on. You could see your reflection with your stepbrother on that tiny screen. Suddenly the screen turned on, and someone spoke from the other side.

“Hello?”

“Hey! Jongho….”

Even when you were talking with your friend, you made a straight eye contact with those daring eyes of jeno in front of you holding your phone. Jaemin was still in his world, inhaling your body scent as if you were a drug he was missing out all these days. Your voice cracked when you felt him leaving kisses over your exposed shoulder.

“When are you coming Y/N?”

Before you could reply, jeno mouthed you to say what they wanted to hear from you. He raised his eyebrows when you remained quiet.

“Sorry but I don’t think ......I can go today.”

“What happened? Is everything alright? Do I need to come over for help?”

“No no it’s just mild headache. You don’t have to worry much.”

Jeno came closer to you and tracing his fingers through your face before pressing them on your lips. You averted your eyes away.

Jaemin whispered in between biting your earlobe, “eyes on him baby.”

You somehow managed to do so until the third voice interrupted.

“Please take care and let me know if you need something.”

You replied with a low ‘hmm’ before he cut the line and tossing the phone on the sofa.

“Now leave me. Let me go.”

“Now where are you planning to go? Didn’t Jeno said earlier it’s already past curfew time?”

“Both of you have already ruined my night. Now Atleast let me go to my room. So move!”

Both of them chuckled on your reply and you creased your eyebrows in confusion, wiggling under their hold and gaze. Finding your actions cute, they started laughing.

“Why are you laughing?”

“You said you can’t make it tonight so let us make that excuse valid. Right Jaemin?”

“Of course, Jeno.”

“What do you mean?”

“I can do this all night baby, Make a wish.” Jaemin licked and whispered in your ears, biting the earlobe before retreating his mouth.

Jeno leaned down to match your eye level.

“Let’s keep it a secret before you can unfold what’s coming in your way.”

"Be Careful What You Wish For"

Alex tries not to laugh as he remembers and reiterates the stupid thing about being a model, he could change his answer, but he doesn’t want to risk not getting that kiss, even if it means spending weeks being ghosted again.  He wants to make sure that he ends up with Henry and he’s not going risk messing that up.  

So, he says something about being a model and not understanding what is so obvious to Alex now that he was missing back in 2020, and the moment comes:

“Christ, you are as thick as it gets,” he says, before grabbing Alex’s face and kissing him passionately.  

Alex has missed this, and unlike the first time, he’s expecting it, so he reacts as he always does, placing his hands on Henry’s waist and pulling him flush against him.  He opens his mouth and deepens the kiss wanting to make the most of it especially knowing that at any moment, Henry’s going to let him go and ghost him until the State Dinner.  

When Henry finally does break it off rather than a soft apology and letting go, he leans his forehead against Alex’s and mutters (almost under his breath, but Alex can hear it), “That was better than I remember.”

“Remember?” Alex questions, his eyes searching Henry’s, is it possible that Henry came back, too?  He wasn’t alone when he made that wish and things have been different all this time. 

Henry looks caught, worried, and a little like he’s going to bolt for a different reason than last time.

“Baby, is it you?” Alex asks, softly.  Hopeful.  He needs it – wants it to be his Henry more than anything else.  

“Alex, love,” Henry says, just as softly, with a slight nod.  “I thought –”

“Me too.”

Alex is so happy he doesn’t even care that he’s standing out in the open as he kisses Henry even more passionately than before.  He would willingly have sex right here, but Henry pushes him back slightly.  “Think this reunion would be better in your room, yes?”

“You’re not going to ghost me this time, baby?” Alex teases, he can definitely get behind a private reunion.

“No need, I know how much you love my dick already.”

Henry’s so smug that the real 2020 Alex would probably push him in the snow and walk away, but this Alex finds it endearing.  

“You still have that trusty travel bottle of lube on you?”

“Oh yes, always.”

“Good, let’s go make use of it.”

“Gladly.”

4 Minutes Theories (Ep. 3)

In this post, I've compiled my theories from my initial reaction to the trailer and the teaser (which were kind of sweeping since the trailer and teaser didn't give me much to get super detailed about), the new ones I've written down after watching new episodes (episode 1 and episode 2), and some new wild-ass theories I've written in some scattered posts throughout the previous week.

Just like last week, I will go through my theories one by one. Let's see how wrong I am this time, and how (un)likely the other theories are. Like last time, I might develop some of my theories and add some new ones as well.

Let's go!

Pre-premiere theory: The moments Great sees ahead of time are moments that might help him redeem himself from a past mistake/transgression. (Unconfirmed)

Well, the first two episodes seemed to have a pattern where the moments that were reversed seemed to be reversed for Great to do them over, do better, do "the right thing".

In this week's episode, though, it seemed like Great was moved back in time so he could tell Tyme that he could see 4 minutes into the future (with proof to make Tyme believe him). So, perhaps it isn't so much about redeeming himself from past mistakes/transgressions. That could still be a part of it, of course. But his precognitive ability might be helping him move forward quicker (since time is clearly running out). Moving toward what, though? That's the question, isn't it?

Maybe to find a way to wake up from his cardiac arrest (I still believe Great was the one that flatlined in the first episode). Maybe he needs to find the information he needs to do whatever he needs to do after waking up. Maybe to just make the most out of his out-of-body experience (OOBE) before he dies. Or maybe something else.

Either way, I'm keeping this theory for now, until it's proven wrong (or right).

Revised/developed pre-premiere theory: Korn will do some shady shit to prove to his dad that he can take over the family business. (Unconfirmed)

Korn is already deep in the shit. And I have a feeling he will only sink deeper and deeper (until he's 6 feet under).

This man will destroy more than one person he cares about, won't he? He's already putting Tonkla through shit, even though he's doing it unknowingly since this idiot doesn't use his goddamned phone!

(I'm usually annoyed by phones in general, but they can serve a productive purpose too, like making sure you block a fucking cop's cock from entering your sugar baby!)

I have a feeling Korn will fuck Great over as well. Great is only the result of his dad's affair, and Korn is probably more interested in prestige, status, and money than Great even though it seems like they have a good relationship (at least on the surface).

Will it go so far that Korn kills someone? Maybe. He might not do it of his own will, but if he's under too much pressure or if someone pressures him to do it, it might happen.

It will definitely be interesting to see how far Korn will go.

Pre-premiere theory: Title is involved with Korn. (Unconfirmed)

Before watching the first episode, I thought Title might've been a brother or that they had a boss/minion relationship. But, Title is (most likely) not Korn's brother (but who knows how far Korn's dad has spread his seed...). There's still a possibility he is (or will be) working for Korn. Or, perhaps Title's dad (whom he mentioned in the 2nd episode) is one of the shareholders, and Title will get involved with Korn for that reason.

Anyway, I'm keeping this theory for now.

Pre-premiere theory: Tonkla has a target on his back. (Unconfirmed)

This theory was based on the background of the poster for Fuaiz/Tonkla, and I still believe it's a possibility.

How will Korn react when he finds out Tonkla is hooking up with a cop? How will Fasai react when she finds out Korn has a sugar baby (if she doesn't already know, which I have a feeling she does)? How will Fasai (or her dad) react when she realizes Korn's sugar baby is hooking up with a cop? How will Win react when he finds out Tonkla's sugar daddy is managing illegal gambling sites? How will Win react when he finds out Tonkla has beaten the shit out of someone? (I mean, if Win even survives that long.)

I don't think all of them will target Tonkla, but there's definitely a possibility that Korn and Fasai (and potentially Fasai's dad) will want Tonkla gone/silenced/killed while Win might try and get information about Korn out of Tonkla.

Either way, I need Tonkla to come winning out of this, even if it means bashing other people's heads in to protect himself.

Pre-ep. 2 theory: Tonkla will betray Korn. (Unconfirmed)

I won't call Tonkla hooking up with Win a betrayal. Just like I didn't see it as a betrayal when Korn was with Fasai. There might be feelings involved for Tonkla and Korn, but they both know Tonkla is just a side piece (Tonkla even asked himself why he allowed himself to be treated this way, which means Korn has ignored him more than once in the past).

I won't call this theory confirmed until I have an actual betrayal. And I'm rooting for a betrayal. I don't really care if he reveals all of Korn's dirty laundry to Win or if he ends up beating the shit out of Korn with a rock. I just want him to fuck shit up.

Pre-premiere theory: Win is battling some contrasting, opposing forces (internal and/or external). (Unconfirmed)

This theory was based on the background of the poster for JJay/Win. I solely based it on the red and green contrasting colors.

Last week, after finding out he works for the police, I thought that perhaps the contrasting forces he's battling are his attachment/feelings for Tonkla and his duty to uphold the law.

After this week's episode, there's also the ethically ambiguous action of getting involved with the brother of the murder victim you're investigating (well, not officially anymore, but still). Will Win be able to keep his situationship with Tonkla separate from his duty as a cop or will he continue to go rogue to keep his promise to Tonkla?

Also, there's still the possibility that Tonkla might kill someone. What will Win do if/when he finds out? Will he have trouble deciding between protecting Tonkla or arresting him?

In other words, I need more to label this theory as confirmed.

Pre-premiere theory: Den has a situationship with Korn. (Unconfirmed)

I'm keeping this theory only because I want to see Bas and Job together. This is such a delulu dream of mine.

But...

What if Korn goes to the hospital to get the wound on his neck fixed? What if he runs into Den there?

If I can't have Korn and Den together, can I at least have Bas and Job in the same frame? Please. And, thank you.

I will keep being delulu about this until I get it (and probably even when there's not even a snowball's chance in hell that they'll hook up).

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Dome is Tonkla's brother. (Unconfirmed)

This theory is based on several timelines happening in the series (at least two, anyway). However, there might've been evidence in this episode that points to it not being possible for this theory to be true (seeing how Tyme said he was asked by Great to check in on Dome at the hospital). So, maybe not...

I don't know...

I'll have to write my timelines posts first. So, when I get some time after the Olympic Games have ended, I will expand on this theory (as well as the parallel timelines).

Pre-premiere theory: Fasai is the other character with a condition similar to Great’s (alternatively, it's Tyme). (Unconfirmed)

This won't happen. The only reason I'm keeping this theory is because I need the show to prove to me that Fasai doesn't have precognitive abilities so I can label this as wrong and move on.

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Tyme has a precognitive ability similar to Great’s (or might develop one). (Unconfirmed)

I've been dilly-dallying about this since I saw the trailer, but I didn't write it down until last week. That's only because I believe it one second only to not believe it the next. (This is a good example of how this show is fucking with my head. I love it, even though it's annoying.)

But, I will keep this theory because of the way Tyme's eyes caught Great when Great was sitting silently in the hospital in last week's episode as well as this moment from the teaser:

There's definitely something going on with Tyme, as if he can feel his way toward Great or something. (Perhaps a connection through a heart transplant?)

Come on, show. Prove me wrong (or right).

And, if I spin off on how he might've developed an ability of his own...

Wild-ass pre-ep. 2 theory: Tyme will have a near-death experience and develop his own precognitive ability. (Unconfirmed)

Do I think this will happen? Most likely not. But having both Great and Tyme develop precognitive abilities is delulu enough for me to like it.

Just imagine if both Tyme and Great are having OOBEs and are trying to either help each other or happen to unintentionally get in the way of each other's goals/changes? That would be bonkers.

Revised/developed pre-premiere theory: Fasai has a connection with Korn. (Unconfirmed)

Last week, I wrote that I would only confirm this if I could guess what kind of relationship they have (or half-confirm it since they clearly have some sort of connection).

My first pre-premiere guess was that she was Korn's sister (which, as soon as last week's episode was out, proved me way off). Then, my thought last week was that they have a situationship.

Fasai gets the pleasure of power/domination while Korn gets access to a higher standing, more money, more prestige, etc.

They have more than likely known each other for a long time because of their families, but I feel like it would be too obvious and boring if they were engaged (or even married).

So, I will keep this theory unconfirmed for now.

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Fasai (and/or her father) is in league with someone within the police force. (Unconfirmed)

In the first episode, Korn said Fasai was going to have dinner with an uncle Warit. In this week's episode, Nan found the name of a Warit on the papers in the safe.

It said he was a Lt. Gen., which, to be fair, is more of a military ranking than a police one, right?

Either way, I'm keeping this theory for now because I might be onto something.

Revised/developed pre-premiere theory: Great is having an out-of-body experience. (Unconfirmed)

I previously called this theory a "dream world" after watching the trailer and teaser, but an OOBE is a much better description of it.

I'm keeping this until proven right or wrong.

Pre-ep. 2 theory: Great's visions of himself and Tyme are his present self's memories of their time together. (Unconfirmed)

This is based on the OOBE theory being true. But this theory seems pretty obvious to me if the OOBE theory is true.

The reason he sees those visions, however, might be because some power wants him to approach Tyme a lot faster than he did in the real past. And that could be connected to another theory I have (the heart transplant theory).

I will expand on this as soon as I get some time over after the Olympic Games have ended.

Pre-ep. 3 theory: There are different timelines. (Unconfirmed)

Not to sound like a broken record (lol), but I will develop this in a separate post when the Olympic Games are over. I will, I will, I will.

To summarize, I think there are:

A present-time timeline

A real past timeline

And a timeline I call the OOBE timeline (which is where Great changes the events based on his precognitive ability)

I will develop this in another post because I can't seem to get it out of my head. And I need to get it out for my own sanity, lol.

Pre-premiere theory: Great’s (Bible’s) tattoos have something to do with the story. (Because I refuse to believe otherwise! lol) (Unconfirmed)

Just like I wrote last week (and the week before): I swear I'm keeping this theory because it hasn't been confirmed (or denied), yet. That's the only reason I'm keeping this theory.

I swear I'm not keeping this theory to add this image to every post I write...

Pre-premiere theory: Great becomes Korn’s target because he can see ahead of time. (Unconfirmed)

I'm starting to get the feeling that this might be more possible the more I learn about Korn than I thought after watching the first episode.

As I mentioned before, I have a feeling that Korn is going to do some shady shit. Turning on the kid that's the result of his dad's affair might not be that far-fetched. Will Korn become so ruthless in his pursuit to prove himself to his dad that he'll turn on Great? And will Great be able to avoid it now that he has his precognitive ability?

We'll have to wait and see.

Pre-ep. 2 theory: Great has a cardiac arrest/near-death experience at 11:00. (Unconfirmed)

This probably won't be confirmed until Great wakes up in the present (which might happen in episode 5 or 6). Unless I've been wrong about this the whole time. In that case, I'll gladly tuck this theory into my failed/scrapped box (where most, if not all the others, will end up too, lol).

We also saw that the clock was counting down in last week's episode as well as this week's episode.

And that leads me to the next theory...

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Great has 4 minutes to wake up/get his heart to start beating again. (Unconfirmed)

Great has 4 minutes (well, after the 3rd episode, it's only 2 minutes) to wake up/get his heart to start beating again in the present before his brain gets damaged. Because the brain starts to get damaged due to a lack of oxygen 3-5 minutes after the heart stops (according to a quick Google search). Since Sammon is an actual doctor, I'm pretty sure the 4-minute mark is scientifically supported. And that's what I think is happening here.

My guess is that Great needs to find the information he needs/learn whatever he needs to learn/solve whatever he needs to solve before the time runs out so his heart can start beating before he suffers major brain damage.

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Tyme is looking into the illegal gambling sites because his family fell victim to them. (Unconfirmed)

There has to be a bigger reason he's doing this than just wanting to be "the good guy" fighting crime.

My theory is that his parents fell victim to the illegal gambling sites even though it's been years since they died.

As I think about it now, though... Maybe Tyme has something against Great's dad in particular rather than the gambling sites. What if Great's dad was the reason Tyme's parents died? Perhaps Great's dad covered it up, and Tyme's investigation into the illegal gambling sites is just a way for him to take down Great's dad and get some justice for his parents' deaths?

Maybe...

Pre-ep. 3 theory: Tyme is getting close to Great because of Great's family and their connection to the illegal gambling sites. (Unconfirmed)

I still believe this is true even though I think Tyme was a bit surprised that he got to see a different side of Great than he thought he would.

Pre-premiere theory: Someone will die/fake their death. (Unconfirmed)

As I wrote in the previous posts in this series on my 4 Minutes theories, this was pretty obvious from the start. Sammon kills characters all the time.

But, I also mentioned in last week's post that I won't confirm this theory until one of the major characters dies. Technically, Dome has already been killed. But Great reversed it, so that doesn't count.

In last week's post, I also speculated on who would be killed and wrote Dome, Title, and perhaps Korn, which I still stand by.

I might pass this as soon as a major character shows up dead, or I might not pass this theory until at least two out of my options above (Dome, Title, and Korn) show up dead.

Either way, I'm keeping this theory for now.

Wild-ass pre-ep. 2 theory: Great will get Tyme's heart (after Tyme is shot). (Unconfirmed)

This is not the Transplant I want, btw. But it might be possible.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a medical professional. I have no idea if this is medically possible considering where Tyme was shot and how far he might be from a hospital (since I know a body needs to be hooked up to a ventilator to be able to keep the organs alive if organ donations are to be possible). So, excuse my lively imagination, lol.)

I will develop this theory in a separate post as soon as I get some time when the Olympic Games are over. I have so much to say about this one.

Wild-ass pre-ep. 3 theory: The number 4 marks a character with death. (Unconfirmed)

I had this theory yesterday before the 3rd episode and added it to this post.

The number 4 (which in Cantonese is pronounced very similarly to the word "death") marks characters with death. Either actual death or something like a cardiac arrest (which can be saved).

To summarize what I wrote in that post, Those characters are:

The patient at the beginning of the 1st episode who has a cardiac arrest. (I still believe this is Great.)

Great, who is surrounded by the number several times during his OOBE.

Manee, who is lying in room number 4 at the hospital.

View, Title, and Dome who are near that 4 on the trashcan in the 2nd episode. (It might just be one or it might be all three, my guess is all three.)

And in this week's episode, we also saw the patient in bed 4 that Great had intubated even though Den said it might've been more humane to let her die.

Also, if they're playing with several timelines in the show (which I also believe), the number 4 might signify the characters that died in the real past:

Great, who flatlines (even though that might technically be in the present)

Manee, who Great hit and left to die

View, who might've been killed by Title if Great hadn't helped her escape from him

Dome, who most likely would've been killed if Great hadn't stopped Title

Title still has time to die (perhaps by Tonkla)

And the elderly lady in bed number 4 who will probably die anyway

Let's see how wrong I am about this.

New theories after the 3rd episode:

Here, I'll gather the new theories I have (to make it simpler for myself to find them next week) and add one or two other ones I've come up with.

I'm still thinking about the rocks in the 2nd episode and what significance they have, but I haven't made up my mind about this yet. I feel like the parallel timelines might be at play here, so I'll have to think a bit more about that and perhaps develop it in a separate post.

Tyme's choices in the real past are the reason Great is in the hospital having a cardiac arrest and an OOBE (the note on the tea cup changing to "Can you forgive me, Great?" might be a message from Tyme). (At the risk of sounding like a broken record again... I will develop this in a separate post as soon as I get some time after the Olympic Games are over.)

When the clock strikes 11:04, Great wakes up in his real past and gets to do everything all over again according to what he learned during his OOBE.

Results so far:

How much they wanted to see each other?

Another people had made analysis, but I honestly couldn't help myself but to examine another scene, because I need to squeal at this.

While the beginning clue us in how much they miss each other (which wow, I knew Miles was crushing on Gwen since the first movie, but Gwen doesn't get behind AT ALL.) When they reunite, is very interesting.

Leaving aside that a lot of stuff changed from the teaser (because WOW, they really went and say "put the teenage crush up to 11" to both of them,) we really are sold in how much Miles is crushing on her, both from the drawings (in the notebook and the Walls, she was the first drawing and she appears the most,) and the last movie.

Gwen in contrast, comes a lot more subtle not just because Miles cannot hide his emotions for the life of him; while Gwen has issues controlling her anger, or had before, you can see that in general closes off about her feelings, and tries to not talk too much about it. In other words, she has a tendency to hide, and it is reflected on the screen.

Just as much as is shows that when she cares she can't help herself.

First When she appears, she tries to act as if is not a big deal. She is just opening a hole to create an entrance from another dimension, no biggie.

Miles barely had time to recollect himself (a lot more coherent if it was me that's for sure.) But again, I think that is to be expected.

What I like is what Gwen is doing.

The first thing she does is try to appear casual, looking around to anything in the room before him.

But the second she looks at him (and I mean SECOND, I was trying to get a decent screenshot but is hard.) she hugs him.

(We will take a moment to appreciate Miles being so out of left field he is just frozen.)

I also like to note that Gwen is probably a very physically affectionate person, or at least, someone who likes being physically affectionate with the people important to her.

We can see it with her dad in how even when things with him are tense, she doesn't hesitate to hug him because despite everything, she loves her dad.

And with the spider society being well, the spider society (That's a topic for another day and maybe not this blog,) she probably doesn't have a lot of affection these days, which makes sense go to Miles since well, she REALLY has miss him.

But I don't think she agrees with that.

Hey, remember how I was talking about how cool and collected Gwen seems at first, just to be betrayed by her own emotions because she cannot help it? This is happens often and I love it.

I think this is a good time as any as to talk about something that the movie could had done, and I am SO glad that they didn't.

Part of the reason I was lukewarm to this ship in the first movie, is that it was doing partially the very tired trope of "Dorky protagonist has a hopeless crush in the badass female co-lead and despite finding him annoying at first, they end up together."

Luckily it doesn't actually immerse into that trope and Miles has more personality than most of those archetypes; but being a super hero movie, I was kind of tired of this, and while I think Miles crush on Gwen was cute in the first movie, I didn't think they would turn around.

When the teaser dropped, I was afraid it was going to just dive in that route.

And yet, this movie does the interesting thing, by having Gwen actually lose the cool mask sometimes.

Because yes, Gwen is cool, she is awesome. She is badass and she can still, probably defeat Miles if she really wanted to; she has been a spider for longer than him so that makes sense.

However, even if she is all those things, she is still a teen, with a crush, and even her coolness cannot stop the fact that she probably doesn't know how to do this either.

I love how as much as Gwen wants to act cool, she still slips up because she probably thinks she made Miles uncomfortable by hugging him like that (he was just a slow to react, yet that would be my read if I was her.) And also because again, she knows she needs to take it easy.

I found funny how she just realizes this is his room, despite technically she giving it "a look" when she came in. Like I say, she was just trying to contain herself.

Miles being nervous about looking like a kid (valid fear considering one of the last things Gwen said to him was how she was 15 months older than him.) is normal and cute.

While I don't doubt Gwen teased Miles a little, and I still don't know what to say about the ripping scene; she sounds a lot more relaxed about the fact that one may think. I had people react badly to my fandom stuff that is often perceived as childish; so while Gwen still shouldn't had done that, it wasn't bad in my eyes.

Now let's talk about one of the favourite scenes for us shippers.

When she sees the drawings, I think she sounds a tad shocked and confuse, which is normal all things consider. What is important for me is Gwen's reaction.

THIS isn't the face of someone uncomfortable with that information.

Listen, I am not trying to shoot my own horn or anything, but when I was younger, I had people confess to me, from private to in a very public manner; and it can be extremely uncomfortable and awkward.

I had needed to find a way to keep my face neutral, and man isn't easy.

But Gwen doesn't look like she is trying to pretend everything is fine, she looks actually fine with this information.

She literally found out her friend has a stupid amount of drawings of her, imagine someone you know and who you don't have interest doing that to you.

There is no way she will be this chirpy about those drawings if she wasn't a bit happy about it.

Which is part of the reason I love this sequence, because Gwen knew Miles's crush on her from before, but it has been over a year, and you don't know how much it can change. So her initial insecurity makes sense.

And it only takes her less than 5 minutes to confirm that nope, he is still head over heels for her.

And I think getting her cool back and how she reels him in her direction show that.

Also, look at this face.

This is exactly why everyone clock's Miles feelings in 0.5 seconds, it never stops shining.

However, as much as his feelings shine through, Gwen doesn't stop showing them back constantly, as discretely as she can.

OKAY LETS TRY THIS AGAIN

Welcome To Ravenbrooks season 2 Theories before it comes out

Disclaimer uh- these are the ramblings of a mad man named Jack (me). Mainly so when it does eventually come out I can see what if anything I got right. Now lets get into it below the fold.

1. It's revealed that Jay Roth (Nicky's dad) is the one who died in Trinity's old house

We know in both the book and games and even the pilot, Nicky was the one living across from Mr. Peterson, but now it's Trinity's home. I think the grief of what happened in that house is why they moved

2. We'll get to see the rest of the Rescue Squad's parents

Pretty self-explanatory. I don't know what story purpose they'd serve exactly, aside from maybe how they react to their kids' shenanigans but it'd be really cool to see them. Especially Luanne Roth who I am currently head canoning to be neglectful in some manner (not necessarily on purpose) because of the lines about Nicky running away all the time and no one noticing he went missing.

3. We see a cultist in uniform

I think it'd be really interesting if specifically Trinity finds them mid ceremony or if bad things start happening to her family and she gets suspicious

4. The kids learn Mr. Peterson isn't "evil"

We know in the books that Theo is looking heavily into the cult, and he seems to be doing the same here. I think in Trinity's realization's she'll learn his real motivations for keeping them away, maybe even his side of the stories from episode 3

5. We learn what Trinity did

We have hints at what happened, obviously, but with the teaser image reusing the old photo of kid Trinity, l think we're going to learn what exactly happened and why it was so bad that they had to move towns

6. More nightmare sequences

From the hello neighbor franchise in general, we've learned that both Trinity and Nicky are prone to nightmares, and with the trauma they've gained from episode 6, I assume we'll get to see plenty other creepy cool nightmare scenes. (Seriously, just the maggots from episode 2 make me squirm physically when I see it. Every time)

7. Principle Abanante isn't dead

This might be clear to some, and yeah, it's far from the greatest stretch on this list but I think we'll see her again and maybe that she caused the school explosion

8. Delroy(and possibly Scout)'s investigations

I'm very curious about what Delroy was doing in the tunnels under the school, maybe doing his own investigations on the cult? Scout included to round out the Hello Neighbor hide and seek crew. Likely having to join forced with the current members of the rescue squad to stop a stronger force.

9. We see Theodore's brother in his "new form"

Not 100% sure if he became the Guest or the Thing, and I've seen good theories/evidence for both, but either way I think we'll get to see him with the knowledge that it's him.

10. We learn why Ivan acted the way he did in s1

He was more scared of just the mention of Peterson than anyone, and it's been bugging me since my first watch. I'd like to see if there's reason to his behavior or just general paranoia. Leaning towards the former, knowing this series.

11. Love triangle between Trinity, Nicky and Enzo

I'd really rather this doesn't happen. I hate love triangles so much. They're so dumb and useless and bad. But like I told kaydin during our third watch, I can feel it happening. It's breathing down my neck with the loud annoying sound of needless romantic tension.

12. The whole squad sits together at lunch

They escaped the basement together! The least they could do as friends is actually eat lunch together instead of Nicky and Trinity sitting seperate from everyone else

13. Nicky and Aaron's relationship is revealed

I'm really, REALLY hopeful that their friendship isn't retconned in the series. It was great motivation for Nicky to be investigating Mr. Peterson, and is also just generally sweet.

14. We see Aaron

Nicky was the basement for a couple of weeks. However, Aaron was in there for months! I'm eager to see how he is both mentally and physically. I feel like he's either gonna be much, much worse than Nicky or somehow way better.

15. Quentin becomes my favorite character

This is mostly on here as a joke. I'm not gonna lie, I know he'll be at least a favorite because he's my favorite Hello Neighbor game character. Like- the squeal I squealed when I saw his van and silly Hawaiian shirt was immense. I love him so much, and I hope he gets good screen time.

16. Nicky loses his bag

This is more just a- gut feeling? He's gained it as a sort of comfort item, it seems, and I feel like with the nature and badluck of Ravenbrooks, he's going to lose it. Bonus points if he has to choose between it or a member of the Rescue Squad

17. Mr. martaugh dies

Again, I have- no evidence for this. Yeah, he's in the teasers a lot, but like that doesn't imply he dies. Maybe I just really hope he dies because he's creepy /j, but yeah, uh- if it happens, I'll probably still be in shock even though it's on this list.

18. We see an on screen kiss

Tricky fans cross your fingers and pray, I know I will be. It'll probably just be a quick peck on the cheek, but I can just kind of feel it in my bones. Similar to the love triangle one.

And there you go! My predictions for Season 2!

As soon as it drops, you will probably see my reaction to it and a return to this list to see how close or far I was on these. (Spoiler tagged, of course) But until then, I will be patiently waiting, drawing, and rewatching the show too many times over (wonder if I can hit 50 watches before season 2 drops)

Teaser: And possibly I like the thrill (of under me you quite so new), Chapter 9

This is unbetaed, so I hope it's not totally unreadable and full of nonsense, but I was having so much fun with the dynamic between Crystal, Charles and Edwin that I had to share...

Movement at the door caught Edwin's attention and he yelped in fear when someone stepped through it, becoming visible from one moment to the next, a shimmering vision that took on the shape of a person. A startingly familiar person.

“Crystal!” Charles said in surprise, attempting and failing to push himself up from the sofa, the fingers of his hand digging painfully into Edwin's thigh as he did so.

“There you are. Lazing about. Of fucking course,” Crystal said, putting her hands on her hips as she took in the casual way they were sprawled on the sofa, her nose wrinkling a little in exasperation.

“Is this you, Crystal?” Charles said, heedless of her slightly caustic words, and finally scrambled to his feet, hauling Edwin upright with him.

“Yeah,” she said, arching a perfectly plucked eyebrow in consternation, her eyes sweeping over the both of them and briefly coming to linger on their clasped hands. She cleared her throat gently, prompting Edwin to drop Charles’s hand as if it was burning him. “Who else do you think this is?”

“What he means is: Are you a dream or are you really here,” Edwin said, and adopted a straight-backed posture, peering haughtily down at her in hopes she wouldn't see how he felt she had the upper hand in the current situation. Like this, he could pull rank as a senior dead boy detective by the sheer advantage of superior height.

She turned her brown eyes onto him cooly, unimpressed by his posturing. “I'm really here. You’ve been sleeping for more than 48 hours. We’ve been trying to wake you.” She paused meaningfully and with sadistic gusto, until the penny dropped. “We’ve been unsuccessful.”

“Oh my…” Edwin whispered, when his brain had parsed her words, his hand coming up to press against his lips, to prevent anything else that wanted to leave his mouth. Charles wasn't as successful in staunching his reaction to her obvious taunt, falling prey to the devious trap Crystal had laid out.

“You were in our room?!” Charles cried in dismay, his mouth dropped open, eyes wide.

Predictably, a delighted smirk rose on Crystal’s face. She knew Charles too well. “Yeah. I wish I hadn't been. When you didn't react to our knocking, Hob opened the door with his key.”

“You were in our room?!” Charles repeated incredulously. "Where we were sleeping?”

“Yes,” she confirmed gleefully. “And yes, my pure and gentle soul will never, ever recover from the horrors I have perceived.” She shook herself, like shrugging off a bug sitting on her clothes, before turning her gaze on Charles, smug grin still in place. “We're going to have words, Charles Rowland. Many words,” she added, a little threateningly.

“Why me?” Charles huffed, throwing up his hands. “How am I the bad guy?”

“Please,” Crystal snorted, sending a look Edwin's way that spoke of her disbelief that he could have had any active part in such wickedness.

“Can we stop talking about this?” Edwin said snappily, tugging his jacket close and straightening his shoulders. “I believe our personal lives have nothing to do with this case!”

“Awww,” Crystal cooed mockingly, her smile faux-sympathetic, “are you embarrassed? Hey, I get it, he's hot. We all make mistakes.”

“Oi! I'm not a mistake!” Charles cried with so much indignation, that Edwin, despite his irritation with Crystal roasting them and his deep mortification about being found in such a compromising and helpless situation, had to turn his head aside to press his lips together to not burst out laughing.

“Alright,” Crystal said, snorting, her curls shaking with her sniggering, “alright!” She lifted her hands in a appeasing manner. “This was a lot of fun, but…anyway.” She took a deep breath. “After I got over the initial shock, it was really disgustingly cute, you two cuddling all sweetly with your clothes all over the floor, Edwin ghost drooling on your shoulder-”

“Crystal, enough!” Edwin snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose hard.

you had matched with someone on tinder a few days ago and were already planning on meeting up with them

but jiwoong felt that something was fishy about this, he didn't trust this person you were always telling him about

but it was also because he was really jealous about your relationship with them.

deep down he wanted the same thing with you but you two had a close friend relationship for years and he didn't want to ruin that

so comes the day where you have to meet up with this person and they don't even end up coming to the restaurant. you were left there sitting by yourself, the waiters giving you looks as well as the visitors.

you got up to leave and just then a massive rainfall came pouring down.

"great..." you muttered. you pulled out your phone to call jiwoong and ask him for a ride, but he was puzzled as you walked out alone rather than with your date

"where's your date?" he asked as you sat in the shotgun seat

"never showed up." his eyes widened, ready to already confront the person

"WHAT? why?" you shrugged, "I'm not sure. I sat there waiting for hours and they never messaged or call to tell me."

he sighed then started his car, "let's go somewhere."

"huh?" he softly grabbed your hand and started driving with his other hand

"you and me. let's go on a date instead. you deserve so much better than what that idiot did."

while at your university campus, a person you've never met before approached you and asked if you wanted to go out somewhere

you were conflicted with what to say but decided why not? you agreed and set up a time and place for your date

when you first got there, your heart was pounding and you were constantly messaging hao about what was happening. but weirdly, the person never showed up. in fact, when you tried to call them, you noticed that they had actually blocked your number

with your last message to hao, you told him that you got stood up and headed out to the bus station. hao said it was totally fine for you to come over to his place for some comfort and you couldn't have asked for anything else

when you knock on the door, he's already there and takes you to his living room

"thank you hao..." you mumble, he rubs your shoulder

"it's nothing. that loser doesn't know how good they had it, finding someone as great as you."

your cheeks heated up as you smiled at his comment

"you compliment me too much." you replied, his expression suddenly changed and he held your hand

"because you are great. in fact...i was crushing on you too for a while. i wanted you to feel the same way but you found someone else." your eyes widened

"really hao?" he nodded, "really." he repeated. you then shifted to be closer to him and rest your head on his shoulder, wrapping your arm around him too

"then do you want to try, with us this time?" you asked. he smiled and kissed your forehead gently, "of course."

sung hanbin

getting ready and making yourself look presentable went to waste after you were left stranded by your so called date

they were a senior in your university who you had been talking with during a few classes, but they and hanbin never really got along with each other

you were the one who introduced them to each other but hanbin had a bad feeling from the start

and his gust instinct was correct after you were stood up by your date, when he got your call, he already knew what had happened and quickly drove to pick you up (i'm imagining hanbin driving with one hand and squealing rn)

you two ended up heading to a park for a fresh breath of air with popsicles in your hands, hanbin wanted to make your day better

"i don't get it, we've been talking for a while and suddenly i got stood up? i've always wanted to experience love and yet this happens..."

that's when hanbin stopped eating his popsicle and turned to face you

"you can experience love, i've always been here with you, constantly in awe at how much of an amazing person you are. and if they can't see that and instead leave you stranded, then i can be the person who can help you experience love."

you looked up at hanbin, mouth in a small "O" shape as you took in what he said

"h-hanbin are you being serious?" you asked, he nodded

"i am. believe me."

seok matthew

matthew walked in with kimchi fried rice on a plate with some other food as side dishes. he was the first person to know of what happened and immediately came over to your house

he sat down next to you and gently rubbed your shoulder

"(name), i'm sorry for what happened."

"but you didn't even do anything matthew." you responded, he shrugged

"still! getting stood up is like one of the worst things ever. also seeing how they posted on their story as if nothing had happened irritates me even more." you chuckled at how cute matthew looked when his brows were furrowed

"it's okay matt. it's just nice to have you next to me now."

he turned on the tv to access netflix and choose a drama for you to watch

"want to take your mind off? we could rewatch business proposal!" your eyes lit up as you eagerly nodded

"yes! yes! turn it on!" he did as you said and it went straight to episode 3, where you two were last time you decided to rewatch it

in the midst of the silence, you shifted closer to matthew and rested your head on his chest, feeling the warmth. you were always thankful for matthew and his ability to make you feel better

"thank you matt, i know i can always count on you."

kim taerae

you had been with your partner for a while and today was your anniversary with them, you planned out the place and pretty much everything for your special day

but unfortunately, you got stood up by your partner. to make matters even worse you then went over to their place only to see them kissing someone that wasn't you

worst part was that they didn't even deny it and just straight up told you that they wanted to break up

needless to say you felt hurt, as you walked back home, you got a call from your close friend taerae and picked it up

"hey! how was your anniversary date?" he asked excitedly. you felt like crying and he could tell you sounded a bit shaky on the phone

"a-are you okay?" you took a deep breath before responding, "i just need some comfort."

"come over right now." he said before ending the call. you then walked to taerae's place and he didn't question you once and guided you to the living room

"i could tell that something happened." taerae began, "did they do something to you?"

and just like that you broke down completely, crying in taerae's arms about what had just happened

"that idiot! how could they..." you were basically raining on taerae's shirt with your tears that continuously flowed down

"i'm just so upset." you said, without hesitation, taerae left a kiss on your forehead then hugged you tightly

"don't worry your safe here. nobody can hurt you here." there, you realized that taerae was the person who was meant for you all along

you wrapped your arms around him, "thank you tae. i don't deserve you."

shen ricky

you were looking to start your new year with a blind date, hoping that the person you meet with will be someone who cherishes and loves you

however, that quickly went out of the picture when your blind date didn't bother to show up, only leaving you a text saying that they suddenly had "plans" at the exact same time and date as your blind date

it was obviously an excuse not to come but you felt hurt as you put a lot of effort to make yourself look presentable

ricky was the first person you reached out to following the "date" and he said to come over to the dorms as the members had just ordered dinner

when you arrived, the members greeted you as they knew you were close friends with ricky. there they had pizza spread out on the dining table with everyone digging in to eat

as you sat next to ricky, he noticed you weren't indulging into the food like the rest of the members and slightly nudged you

"c'mon, try some." you shook your head, "i don't know, i'm just sad."

he rested his hand on yours, rubbing yours with his thumb

"there are plenty of fishes in the sea (name), trust me, you will meet someone who will sweep you off your feet."

"thanks ricky, i really appreciate your kind words." you smiled, gyuvin then handed ricky a plate for you to use.

"now will you eat?" he chuckled, you nodded and grabbed the last few slices

maybe this was better than being on that blind date, being with ricky's close friends and members

at the art exhibit, you were waiting on your date and continuously checked the time on your phone

you were losing hope on your date showing up as it had been nearly an hour of you walking around by yourself, they didn't even inform you of anything that had popped up or otherwise you wouldn't have been this nervous

the hour mark approached and that's when you lost hope, just then, a hand began poking you and you turned around to see...gyuvin?

"gyu? what are you doing here?" he chuckled and look around, "well, you told me that you'd inform me of when your date arrived for safety measures but then you didn't."

"yeah they never showed up." he pouted, "that sucks for them, missing out someone this amazing."

you softly nudged him as he flashed a smile, "stop it! but thanks for coming though. i probably looked so awkward just standing around here for an hour."

"don't worry, let's make this our own date then." he grabbed your hand and walked around the exhibit, "let's see, hmm, what do you want to check out?"

you slightly pointed at a painting on the other side of the room, "that one!"

"let's go then!" with his hand still interwined with yours, you walked there and began viewing it

even though things didn't work out the way you originally wanted to, gyuvin did a great job filling in as he came when you needed him

it made you wonder if this was what you needed all along, gyuvin to be yours

(wow another school themed one for the maknae line, who's shocked?? i promise i'll try and change it up soon)

well technically not a date per say, one of your classmates told you to come to the yard during lunch as they had something to tell you. they were someone you were crushing on for a while and you were thrilled that they finally noticed you

but it turned out to be a trick when you were left waiting there, feeling humiliated, you just wanted to cry

just then you heard footsteps trail behind you, "what are you doing? you've been standing there for like thirty minutes."

it wasn't your crush but rather gunwook! he was very popular and the class president in your homeroom

"oh-uh, well (crush's name) told me to come out here since he had something to tell me." you explained, still embarrassed by the event

he sighed, "don't trust them. they never follow up on promises and love to hurt people's feelings."

"oh is that so..." you mumbled.

"i'm sorry that happened to you. do you need anything to feel better?"

you shrugged and began walking back to the school building, "i just feel so stupid right now."

gunwook looked at you with sympathy in his eyes, "y'know what? let me treat you, want to go to that restaurant nearby for something quick to grab?"

"quick! then our next class will start soon!" you two rushed to the restaurant while laughing

the park was filled with people who came to relax outside, dogs were running around and so were kids who went to the playground. you were sitting on a bench waiting for a special someone to come, you had confessed to your crush and they agreed to meet up with you

but your worries of them not coming increased, with every minute, no one came. the sun was beginning to go down and a bunch of kids left the park with their parents as well as the dogs too

you were fiddling with your fingers out of boredom when one of the students in your class who was playing soccer from before approached you

"hey (name), what are you doing here?" it happened to be han yujin who was extremely popular at your school

"i dunno, my crush said we could meet up here."

"who?" you said the name and he seemed a bit taken aback by who you said

"them? but they're already dating someone else from what i heard?" your eyes widened. "what?! so they saw my confession and tricked me into coming here?"

it was honestly quite embarrassing being next to yujin and feeling as if your about to break down into tears

after a moment of silence, you stood up, "well, i guess i'll head home now."

he then grabbed your wrist lightly, "wait!" he shyly looked down, "i'll walk with you, just so your safe."

"thank you." you two began heading home together and with yujin's presence, you felt much more safer, though he didn't say much

you finally made it to your front door, thanking him once again, he left. but even still, you wanted to see him again. he made your heart flutter more than even your crush. it was then that you gained a new crush

a/n; i am very hopefully to have this fic finished this weekend by sunday (fingers crossed) so i wanted to give you a little taste. i hope you enjoy the teaser. if you decide you want to be part of my tag list in order to be tagged for this fic keep in mind this will be smut heavy.

“Truth or Dare?” 

The words leave your lips as a giggle, your body resting against Dokyeom’s as he shakes his head lifting his hand for Soonyoung to hand him another beer.  He might be more on the side of drunk at this point but he couldn’t miss the way his body reacted to the feeling of your warm breath against his bare bicep. 

“Only if you actually accept some dares this time, Y/N.” 

You laugh again, your hand grabbing Dokyeom’s forearm so you could use his body to sit up a bit straighter to look at Boo Seungkwan. “I’ll have you know Boo, ‘truth’ can be just as interesting but yes…I will accept some dares. I swear it on…” The three men watch you glance around until you meet Soonyoung, who smirks at you. 

“I swear it on, Soonyoung’s favorite tiger plushie. I might even give it back one day.” 

Soonyoung narrows his eyes, tipping back a shot of tequila at your words before pointing at you. “I’ll just steal him back, you are a dirty little thief. I knew he was here.” As much as he wanted to pretend to be mad at you, Soonyoung can’t help but go soft when you laugh, shrugging your shoulders and causing one side of your sweater to slip down your arm. 

“You wouldn’t dare, I sleep with him every night, Soonie. I need him almost as much as I need you three.” 

You had no idea how your words affected the men sitting near you. While Seungkwan had to take a calming breath at the idea that you needed him, Dokyeom was still trying to keep himself in check as you leaned against him. Soonyoung was a bit bolder, his eyes roaming over your face and body as he watched you take another shot, your nose wrinkling up at the burn. 

“Truth or Dare, Y/N?” Soonyoung’s words bring you back to the present, shaking your head as you think about his question and smile stretching your legs out so that you can rest more comfortably between Dokyeom and Seungkwan. 

In truth there was nothing different about this night than any other night when the four of you had decided to have a sleepover, sitting on the floor much like tonight playing stupid party games. Plenty of nights the three men had crashed in your living room, one of them usually ending up in your bed after pouting about being cold, but it was all so seemingly innocent. Tonight there was more of an unspoken tension in the air. If you felt any of it, you didn’t seem to let it show. 

Meeting Seungkwan’s eyes, you see the challenge in his eyes, the way he raises his eyebrow knowing that you are considering choosing truth as you always do. You smile at him so sweetly that Seungkwan’s eyes drop to your lips briefly, his body shifting slightly before he looks down a grin on his face when you finally speak. 

“Dare.” 

Dokyeom hadn’t expected you to actually pick dare, shifting his body he causes you to fall against his chest. You laugh at his shocked face, a smile spreading across his handsome face, his large but gentle hands helping you to sit back up. “Sorry, just really thought you’d pick tru–” 

“I dare you to ask Dokyeom if he is turned on right now.”

Summary:

Reader and Taesan have been friends practically their whole lives. Their relationship has always been completely platonic, -at least to reader, but when they, seemingly out of nowhere, kiss, it shakes everything up. Readers whole world is turned upside down, and she doesn’t know how to adapt to the sudden change, so she does everything she can to deny and avoid it.

Warnings/themes(so far): making out, biting, clawing, swearing probably, Taesan is a little 🤏 bit sub, he falls first, but she falls harder(kinda), pining, -denial of said pining, honestly idk.. I haven’t completed it yet🤷‍♀️

Like a flash, Taesan’s face suddenly covers my vision, and I feel soft lips pressing against mine. It tingles like a tiny butterfly, crawling across my lips. When he moves, it’s like silk draping over my skin. It feels too nice to have him kissing me, until he stops.

I blink.

Taesan just kissed me. -I think. It’s not something I’d make up. And, I know I felt it.

I look at him searching for reasoning, but he hides from my eyes. His flaring cheeks are the only thing holding any color on his face. His lips, which had just kissed me, he is chewing on, and his eyes are wide. His whole body is tense. He is still as a statue, until you notice the subtle swaying back and forth.

After what feels like way longer than the five seconds he actually just sat still for, he flutters his eyes and clears his throat.

I flinch, slightly, at that, and I realize just how stiffly I was sitting. When I relax my body, I’m floating in space, with an unsettling lack of fear of the suffocation that’s nearing.

His adam's apple bobles. It’s something I’ve never noticed, let alone found attractive before. His neck, his smooth skin on the rough, slanted shapes, makes heat flash across my face. It moves again when he starts talking, and it keeps my eyes fixed.

“I-.. Am so sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking. I wasn’t thinking, really-” His mouth opens, like in a smile, but with clenched teeth, his eyebrows crinkles and his nose is scrunched together. A sharp breath races through his teeth.

He looks oddly pretty like this, in a way he shouldn’t. When my eyes move to his lips, I’m unusually aware of the empty air touching mine. My lips tingle, just slightly.

Before I know it I’ve rushed towards him, with my hand on his neck and my lips back on his. I almost get the time to worry in the short second it takes for him to react, but when he kisses me back, my head is only filled with sensations. His kiss, that slowly turns warm and damp. My thumb grazing over the bumps of his adam’s apple. His one hand that presses my hand back against the side of his neck, and the other, whose fingers dance right above my hip. The thin fabric of his shirt. The shapes underneath it. His collarbone. His chest. His stomach. The curves of the muscles that my fingers ribbles over. My hand which lands as low as it can get, with my sanity still intact, and I lean on it when I throw my leg over his.

When I’m above him, I switch to kiss his top lip, that is a firmer type of soft. His hand burns against the naked skin on my thighs, and he finally actually rests the other hand on my hip bone.

My hand moves from his neck up the back of his head, tangling my fingers in his hair. I grab at it to move his head back, but he obliges before I can pull, and I go back to kissing his bottom lip. When I slow down, he follows. He breathes at the same pace as me. He has melted and turned into liquid in my arms, and I feel like he would let me do anything I wanted to him.

Almost as if he is trying to grasp onto his solid form, he claws at the skin of my thighs. Sparks rushes through, when he swiftly moves his hand upwards, over the side of my thigh, just for him to let go of it to let go of it.

He moves his hand towards a stand of my hair, that he carefully places behind my ear, and I’m suddenly aware of his hair, between us, that tickles my face. He pushes more of my hair back with his knuckles, so I feel the cold air touch my skin on my shoulder.

For the first time, I let go of his lips and lean my head to the side. My fingers, that brushes though his hair, just barely pushes his head towards my neck, which only does anything due to the complete lack of resistance.

He kisses my cheek, and then, my jaw, in slow pecks. Slowly my fist grasps the fabric under my hand, that riles up before I notice it. The skin of his lower stomach touches the palm of my hand, and, with the breath he sucks in against my neck, he clenches the muscles of his stomach.

One-by-one my fingers let go of the shirt, and they move down, so that the tips stroke his exposed skin, my thumb just barely avoiding his erection. My fingers nudge against the rim of his shirt, and it falls over and covers my nails. My hands roam around and up, and the second my palm hits his skin, he bites my shoulder. The shadow of his whimper dies into my skin, and I moan at the slight twinge of pain tingling throughout my body.

My heart is beating in my head. Like a bomb ticking. My head is about to explode, but I can’t stop.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

!!BANG!!

The door slams open, and my bubble bursts. Suddenly, all my rational thoughts flood back, and I jump off of Taesan, from the flames that flare up on our skin touching.

My eyes glue themselves to the TV. I’m burning everywhere. I hear the footsteps of someone entering. When they stop, I look up into the eyes of Woonhak.

He glances back and forth between us, and I can’t stop myself from following his gaze towards Taesan. -For just a second, and now I have the image of him burned into my brain.

His red sore lips, his glossed-over eyes, the pink on his ears and cheeks, his ruffled, messy hair, the still exposed skin of his lower stomach, the prominent proof of his pleasure, his shaking hands; all come together to the most beautiful picture I have ever seen.

He is suddenly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Chaos Theory Act 75 Teaser

They finally talk. Really talk.

Partial scene, it is a lot longer than this. Scene is still very much in the works and will be more emotional next week since it was edited for this post.

She looks up at the full moon and crescent moon of the second one in the horizon. It makes her miss home. After a few minutes she pulls her knees to her chest in a fetal position. “What am I going to do?” This can’t go forever. “I don’t know what to say to him.”

“Then let me talk.”

Usagi raises her head when she hears his voice, wiping the tears from her eyes. He is standing a short distance in front of her in a plan gray tang shirt with matching gray pants. She looks at him but isn’t able to respond yet.

“Is it okay if I sit here for a bit with you?” Seiya cautiously asks given how their last interactions went trying to speak with her.

She looks at him for a moment, her brain slowly processing his request and gradually nods her head yes.

Seiya sits down on the bench but closer to the other end allowing her space. He would rather be sitting right next to her with his arms around her comforting her when she is so upset. He forces himself to keep his distance. “I never really had a chance to apologize to you.” He begins. “I should have listened to you and stayed by your side to figure this out.”

Usagi turns her head to look at him but doesn’t respond.

Seiya continues, “I acted like a jerk and you have every right to be mad at me for how I reacted.”

Her eyes widen slightly as she listens to his apology.

He finds it as a sign of encouragement to continue. “I’ve wanted to apologize to you all week. I hate how things are between us.” He pauses to look into her eyes. “I want to fix it.”

Usagi breaks the eye contact by looking down. “It’s not that easy to just fix all of this.” She whispers before redirecting her attention upward to look at the stars.

“I know…” Seiya adds turning his focus to the stars too.

She can’t look at him while she explains how she felt. “It really hurt you were so quick to assume I was with Mamo-chan.” She pauses, closing her eyes tightly. “I thought… we were past that.”

A small sigh escape’s Seiya’s lips, “On the tour you asked if I was jealous…” His voice trails off.

Usagi turns to face him after the long pause.

“My greatest fear is that one day you’ll wake up and realize you made a mistake and go back to Mamoru-san.” Seiya finally comes clean why the miscarriage stuck such a nerve with him.

Usagi gasps as she covers her mouth with her right hand, shocked at Seiya’s confession.

TICKET TO HEAVEN THOUGHTS

When I was growing up in the States in the nineties, most—if not all—of the queer media I watched was centered around Christian homophobia. Like, I still can’t see the term “gay panic” as a cutesy fandom term because I know it as a defense used by homophobes on trial for murdering queer people. A defense that worked.

Most of the queer-centric TV shows and movies I watched when I was growing up had some flavor of, “Hello! I am gay and ashamed because of Christian people specifically! I will probably die at the end of this!” and as a result I am tiiiired.

I also went to Catholic schools for my entire education, including university, so when I say I’ve spent half of my life so far submerged in the Vat of Christian Homophobia, I’m not being hyperbolic. As a personal rule, I avoid Christian homophobia in stories. Writing it, reading it, consuming it in any form. I’ve experienced what feels like every possible angle of “I’m gay” “nAUUUU but GOD” and I don’t know if I have it in me to try out another one.

So it may not be surprising to you at this point to hear that when I saw the teaser for GeminiFourth’s upcoming project, I felt a visceral revulsion to it.

I am intrigued because it’s not American Christian homophobia, but as we all know, colonialism pushed that shit globally, so it was often present even in the international media I watched for a long time. A big, big part of what appeals so strongly to me about Thai queer media is that it’s an escape from Christian bigotry. (It’s also part of what made living in Japan feel so safe to me. Homophobia is alive and well there, but the source is more nebulous and less laser-focused on God and Hell and all that noise.)

It’s going to be interesting to see how younger people born in the States react to Ticket to Heaven, because a lot of U.S. Americans in interfandom who were born after the I Killed Him Because His Icky Gayness Made Me Go Temporarily Insane Your Honor days won’t have the same type of deep-seated trauma I do. Like, those born in the Obama era grew up with a very different USA than the one I did, and got to experience the passing of marriage equality in their early youth. They probably aren’t as exhausted to screaming of sinister, hostile Christian homophobia in queer media as I am.

All this to say, I’m less interested in the actual story than I am in Aof’s personal experiences with this brand of homophobia and people’s reactions to the series once it’s on air. It’s an impressively impactful series to get so early on, and I’m sure Gemini and Fourth will do a fantastic job with it.

I may end up watching it after it’s finished, but as of now, the thought of reliving the bigotry of my formative years couldn’t be less appealing.
