If you don't mind me asking, which lines of the Minnesota poem are tattooed on you?
all of them! the whole thing. lemme find a photo
it's brand new here so it's pretty red but here it is! the writing faded out into grey so it would look like a handwritten letter.

Arapaho
The Arapaho are a North American Native nation originally from the Red River Valley in modern-day Manitoba, Canada, and Minnesota, USA. They migrated south in the early 18th century and established themselves in modern-day Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, and points south. They are associated with the Plains Indians culture and have long been allies of the Cheyenne.
The Arapaho adopted an agrarian lifestyle early, which was then modified when they were introduced to the horse by French traders. Able to travel further on hunts now, they gradually became a nomadic people and, pressured by the Ojibwe expansion in the Great Lakes region, moved south. Scholar Adele Nozedar writes:
When the settlers first came upon them, the Arapaho were already expert horsemen and buffalo hunters. Their territory was originally what has become northern Minnesota, but the Arapaho relocated to the eastern Plains areas of Colorado and Wyoming at about the same time as the Cheyenne; because of this, the two people became associated and are also federally recognized as the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
(25)
The Arapaho speak the Arapaho language (part of the Algonquian language group) and continue to practice their traditional, animistic, religion today as they did in the past, although many now blend the ancient spiritual beliefs with Christian rites and rituals. They were among the Plains Indians who participated in the Sun Dance (which they referred to as the Offerings Lodge) in the 19th century and still observe the ritual today at the Northern Arapaho Reservation of Wind River in Wyoming.
Like other nations of the Great Plains, and elsewhere, the Arapaho clashed with the Euro-American settlers migrating west in the mid-19th century. Allied with the Cheyenne and Sioux, Arapaho warriors took part in the Colorado War (1864-1865), Red Cloud's War (1866-1868), and the Great Sioux War (1876-1877), among other conflicts. The Southern Arapaho were camped with the Southern Cheyenne under Chief Black Kettle (l. c. 1803-1868) when they were attacked by US cavalry in what is now known as the Sand Creek Massacre (29 November 1864), which only strengthened their resolve to defend their ancestral lands against invasion by White settlers from the United States.
Even so, by 1868, both the Northern and Southern Arapaho understood the futility of continuing the fight against overwhelming forces and agreed to move onto reservations (which is one of the reasons so few Arapaho were present at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876). The Southern Arapaho were relocated to Indian Territory (modern-day Oklahoma) while the Northern Arapaho were moved to the reservation of the Shoshone, their traditional enemies, in Wyoming.
Like the Pawnee, the Arapaho were allowed to continue to observe the Ghost Dance, initiated by the Paiute Nation in 1889, after the US government prohibited other nations, notably the Sioux, from doing the same. The songs and rituals that accompany the Ghost Dance enabled the Arapaho to retain much of their culture, and both Northern and Southern Arapaho continue these traditions today.
Name & Nation
The name Arapaho was given to the people by European colonists who mispronounced the name given them by the Crow nation – Alappaho ("Many Tattoos"), which the people then began to apply to themselves. They originally called themselves Hinono'eino ("the people" or "our people"). The Cheyenne referred to them as Hitanwo'iv ("People of the Sky"), but the reason for this is unclear.
In the 18th century, the Arapaho nation consisted of five bands, each with their own dialect of the Algonquin Arapaho language:
Beesowuunenno (Big Lodge People)
Hanahawuuena (Rock People)
Hinanae'inan (Arapaho Proper)
Nawathi'neha (Southern People)
Haa'ninin (White Clay People - better known as Atsina and Gros Ventre)
The Gros Ventre split from the other bands in the early 18th century and were later regarded as inferior by the Arapaho. The Arapaho nation was then defined by the four remaining tribal bands, who separated into the Northern Arapaho and Southern Arapaho with the northern band holding the position of the "mother tribe" responsible for the safekeeping of sacred objects such as the ceremonial flat pipe.

2024 roundup!
Honestly, I don't know how to start this one. Before looking into my diary for specifics, I know this year was one of the most emotionally difficult years for me in recent memory. And yet, I still just want to take this moment to look back and reflect
cw depression symptoms, eating issues, medical talk, death talk
I started off this year getting more tattoos, and that was fun. I still love them, just taking a small break until I get my next one
I also got to check out Igloofest, which was so enjoyable that I plan on going at least one or two days again this year. A few years ago I started going to these music festivals, and something about them just really hits me. Something about being able to wander around and hang out somewhere quieter or less crowded or grab some food at any point makes it a very "relaxing" party atmosphere.
Then my first temporary layoff occurred pretty early in the year, because the industry still, to this day, is still being affected by the hollywood strikes last year. People are still struggling to find stable jobs because of it, on top of things like AI starting to replace artists in front of my very eyes. it was pretty difficult for me, as everyone else, as you could imagine.
Also at around the same time, my parents lost a good friend of theirs suddenly from undiagnosed cancer. While I didn't know him very well personally, that was immediately also just... awful. Just tragic. And in the background, a few other people I care about were also struggling with cancer themselves.
I spent a lot of my "break" in the worst depressive period I think Ive ever gone through in my life. Not diagnosed, just when thinking about how hard it was to do anything other than sleep all day. I lost so much weight from being unable to eat without getting sick, if I had any appetite. things were very bad.
The fandom and all of my other friends also helped a lot. I had a massive output of fanart this year, with most of it being drawn during the first layoff. People being so kind and supportive and joining in the Coffinshipping fun with me helped keep me sane, and gave me something to look forward to every day.
Once the weather finally started getting warmer up here, around March, I also started taking myself out on little daily walks around my neighborhood, and checked out local museums. That also helped stave away the extreme depressive thoughts.
I did manage to do something I've always wanted to do, and that was fly to Manitoba to hang out with my online friend of 10 years, Jen of riseofthefallenone fame. Finally getting to hug her irl and watch movies and go to museums for about a week was definitely one of the highlights of this year. And while it didn't cure my slump, she can attest that I was still struggling heavily with food and stuff, it really helped a lot.
Late spring, my mental health started stabilizing enough that I was able to start doing things I really love again, like go to the movies and draw even more and write fics, and most importantly- eat like normal.
I was able to see the total Solar Eclipse with friends. Anyone else who was able to witness it probably understands when I say that was another highlight of my year. It was just breathtaking, and a little bucketlist win that I really needed while I was still unsure if I was going to have a job to return to at all.
By June, I was still just being wracked with stress waiting for my job to call me back as I watched my emergency rent funds fizzle away. I spent a lot of quiet time outside enjoying the nice weather, just trying to keep my mind off of things.
I drew more. Wrote more fics. Got more tattoos.
Then, my job DID call me back. and I was so happy!
kind of!
because the MOMENT my job called me back, I had to take a sick day to get an abscess removed from my leg. yeah, I know. gross. but holy fuck, that shit hurt like a motherfucker. I felt like everything was finally turning around, and then I was in immense physical pain every day before and after recovery.
also, the medication was killing me.
the 10 days I was on antibiotics was torture. after spending most of the year so far struggling to eat, the side effect of my medication was really bad nausea, so that set me back again
and changing the bandage alone every day hurt so fucking much until that shit finally healed up after a month
Then the political debates started. and that started affecting me subtly in the background.
Also every global thing, pretty much.
Then my grandfather's cancer was starting to get worse.
Meanwhile, finally back at work, I was working on something that was so stressful that the extent of how stressed out I was is only really hitting me now in hindsight
One fun thing: I was able to make that Strahm cosplay that I really wanted to, and I had a lot of fun at Montreal comic con! I am going to describe that as a brief reprieve from everything else that was going on.
Shortly after, with a fuck ton of surrounding dramas that I don't care to describe in detail because it's too personal, my grandfather passed away.
He's the first person I've lost in my family that really affected me like this. It's been difficult.
I continued working. Summer came and went. I attended Piknic Electronik and Ilesoniq, which were fun. Everything else from that time just feels like a weird blur. I was really feeling so overwhelmed by everything by that point, a lot of days were just spent crying and trying to feel normal. like someone else was living this year, not me.
I leaned on my friends a lot this year. They really helped me feel sane, kept my mind off of everything terrible, and generally just made me feel happy when I wasn't.
I'm reading through my diary to recall events this year, and nearly every entry by this point had a breakdown. I wasn't doing well. Work was stressing me out, the world was stressing me out, the internet was stressing me out, loneliness was stressing me out, it was overwhelming.
I finally managed to find a therapist. Even just knowing therapy was on the horizon and I was finally going to get some help was tremendous for me finding some optimism again
Therapy also came at the perfect time, because I was at the "crying every day" point of depressive/anxiety symptoms again and my second temp layoff of the year was approaching on the horizon, and I really didn't want it to be as bad as last time.
Also come Fall, I discovered hockey. I finally went to my first game after living in Canada for 7 years, and as you may have noticed, I got hooked. I've been going to games and watching them on tv/online and I've been having a genuinely great time with it!
Things still felt tense though. The election was coming up. We were all feeling it.
Therapy was needed.
The election. You know what happened. I was called back into work the next day after the results came in. Same day, I was told I'd have to learn french in order to continue living in quebec soon. I have a learning disorder, language was always difficult for me, and this was suddenly dropped onto my lap with no warning. I had to be a functioning worker after that.
Then, my parents' neighborhood lit on fire.
Yes I'm serious. Not even a full week after all that, a record breaking forest fire raged for 2 weeks in my home town and my parents had to evacuate. There was a fear for a while that they were going to lose everything. Their brand new house that they only just moved into last year.
Between all of those things all at once, you could kiss my appetite and ability to keep food down goodbye again.
But thanks to the help of what might have been hundreds of firefighters from both in and outside of town and state, every single home was saved.
Ever since, things have smoothed out a bit. Work stabilized. I have been given news that our studio should have enough work to keep everyone employed well into next year. Finally, there's a light at the end of the Hollywood strike tunnel. We're not completely free of industry stress... there's still AI and quebec tax credit drama thats threatening to ruin my life and everything I've worked for... but I'm TRYING to not catastrophize things before they happen. (And I'm begging people... please be more forgiving to sequels and remakes that make you seeth and froth with rage. They're giving human artists much needed jobs. Please.. stand behind us right now.)
A lovely string of movies came out that I was able to enjoy!
Red One, Sonic 3, and Long Distance (well, not available in the US yet) all came out in quick succession, and I was able to see those with loved ones!
When movies I work on come out, it feels like my gallery exhibit opening after months or even years of anticipation. Finally! I get to show everyone my art! Sonic 3 especially was super special. I got to see that not only with excited, cheering adult fans, but I also got to see it with my parents and happy, giggling children. Both experiences were special for different reasons.
This was probably one of the hardest christmases I've ever spent home. With Grandpa gone, it was the first christmas where it felt like something crucial was missing.
With cancer increasingly present in even more elderly family members, I'm anticipating another extremely difficult year ahead of me. Knowing christmas is only going to get more emotional and unrecognizable for the rest of my life has been very, very hard for me to compartmentalize
I'm going to continue leaning on my friends and family. I'm definitely going to be leaning on my therapist more.
I don't really have much in terms of a resolution this year. I just want to feel like myself and not someone desperately trying to feel like myself

Lost and Found Cat
While we were on vacation a black and white cat showed up at our home in rural Manitoba.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This cat was very friendly and in good condition, it would rub up against us occasionally. It would sleep in the garage and laze in our wood pile and under bushes. He wouldn’t leave!
Tumblr media
We were concerned because there’s a highway near our home.
We got our local animal rescue to come pick it up. Even though he didn’t have a collar, it turned out he had a tattoo that helped get him reunited with his owners and now he’s back home!

MISSING: Jennifer Leigh Catcheway
Tumblr media
Name: Jennifer Leigh Catcheway
Description: 5′7, 165lbs with long brown hair and brown eyes. Her left hand as the letter “J” scraped into the skin and there is a tattoo on her left ankle of the letters “JC”
Age at Disappearance: 18
Missing for 15 years
When Jennifer was last in her family home in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, she left a note for her parents stating “Gone to see my cousin. Be back later. Put my ice cream in the fridge, I’ll have it when I get back.” She never got that ice cream, as she never returned home. It was a few days shy of her 18th birthday.
Jennifer has called her family on the morning of June 19, 2008 to let them know she would be home later that night for her birthday party, but she never arrived.
She was seen leaving Portage La Prairie in a truck with her uncle, 38 year old Charles Parenteau, and her cousin, 28 year old Shawn Catcheway. The trio travelled to Grand Rapids over 400 miles away, where they were seen at a house party on the Dakota Tipi First Nation. Charles claimed to have dropped Jennifer off afterwards near the Waterhen Junction on Highway 6.
Jennifer’s mother, Bernice, decided to give Jennifer a few days when she didn’t turn up for her birthday party, reasoning that her daughter was likely partying and celebrating turning 18 and would be back soon. After a few days however, Bernice began to worry and went to the police. Sadly, they did not take her seriously. When police learned that Jennifer was 18, they told Bernice to give it a week or so, reassuring her that her daughter was probably just drunk and partying.
Jennifer’s uncle and cousin were arrested a few weeks later, but both were released without charges. The RCMP later ruled the case a homicide, but Jennifer’s remains have yet to be found.
Jennifer’s family continues to hold a fundraiser every summer, raising money to fund their summer-long search for Jennifer. They have followed up on every tip they have ever received, coming through forests, fields, and bodies of water all throughout Manitoba with the help of volunteers.
The lack of closure is painful for Bernice, and urges anyone with information on Jennifer’s whereabouts to come forward, even anonymously. Jennifer was last seen wearing a green and white striped shirt.
If you have any information regarding this case, please contact Portage La Prairie RCMP at 204-983-5461, contact Bernice directly on Facebook, or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, or online here: https://www.canadiancrimestoppers.org/tips

BIOGRAPHY
TL;DR
Asa was inspired to be a hunter when he was ten years old on vacation in the states and Mary Winchester saved him from a werewolf. Despite his mother's protests he was enamored by the idea of being a real life superhero when he was young. He detailed a lot of his adventures in postcards addressed to Mary all from a pack he purchased in Canada. With no way to actually get them to her, he held on to his collection everywhere he went in hopes of one day getting to talk to her again. Asa became a known hunter in his own right in the US and Canada alike.
FULL BIO
Asa Fox was born to his single mother Lorraine Fox in Emerson, Manitoba. His mother was kicked out of the house for having a baby young, unwed, and claiming to not know who his father was. For the majority of his life, Asa and his mom were alone, especially after her sister moved to the United States. As he grew older and was easier to travel with, Lorraine started to take Asa more frequently to visit her sister during his school breaks. Sometimes he would go spend time with his aunt for the summer while his mom picked up an extra job to continue to provide for him. From a young age, Asa took up many outdoor hobbies including fishing and hunting, particularly enjoying archery. He felt responsible to help his mom out as he grew old enough to realize how hard she was working to provide for them and keeping a steady meat and fish supply came naturally to him.
During one of his trips to visit his aunt, however, his life was changed forever. While walking back to her house from scouting some private fishing spots, he was attacked by a werewolf. Luckily for him, a hunter named Mary Winchester was already tracking the werewolf and saved his life before he could be seriously injured or killed. Instantly, Asa was enamored by the young woman who was a superhero in his eyes. While she drove him back to his aunt's, he asked her a lot of questions about hunting. Only ten at the time, he had already found his calling and life and vowed that nothing would stop him from saving people from the monsters he now knew existed. He picked up a paper route when he returned home and a real job as he got a little older to invest in martial arts classes to help with self-defense.
Since he had always been so close to his mom, the secret of the supernatural wasn't something that he could keep from her. It took a lot of convincing, as she was a rational person assuming that his imagination had gotten the best of him. However, his insistence and obsession with scouring the papers and spending time in the library reading books about monsters soon was enough to convince her. Concern for his safety flared when he let her know that he planned on hunting himself, but no matter what she tried to steer him away from it, Asa was only more insistent that it was what he meant to do. They finally came to an agreement that he would need to finish high school and then his life decisions could be his own. Reluctantly, Asa skated by in school and focused on having fun with friends and starting to chase after girls in his spare time, taking those years to build up his knowledge about all things supernatural.
The day after graduation, he left for his first real hunt and the life really took him over. Asa always made time to visit his mom and help her with things around the house between each case, but he was constantly out on the road. Over the years, he met many other hunters and started to gain notoriety from his knowledge and skill levels. When he found out about Harvelle's Roadhouse, the joint became a regular stop in his rounds, since he often traveled to the US to take cases. During his hunting adventures, Mary Winchester never left his mind. He asked other hunters about her but never got any information about her. Instead, he detailed his experience through letters on the back of a series of postcards addressed to her that he kept at home, in hopes that one day he could meet her and she would be proud of him.
Early on in his career, he took down five wendigos in one night and this became the infamous story that most hunters knew him for. Many believed him to be exaggerating, but he always insisted it was the truth. Friends of Asa's made the mention of wendigos into a drinking game, taking a shot every time that Asa mentioned them. A few years into hunting, his visits to his mom started to dwindle a bit as the years grew on. She grew more resentful of the life he had chosen for himself when he had shown up with injuries. Instead, he often visited other hunters to work cases with them in the areas they were based out of and spent most of his nights drinking or picking up women. The life of the party, other hunters would tell you that there never was a dull moment with Asa. He invented his own drinking game, shotgun or shtriga, and was up for pushing the limits of having fun for his hunting comrades, finding it necessary to shake off the darkness they were witness to.
Life changed again for Asa when one of his one night stands called him to let him know that she was pregnant. Asa panicked as he never had a father figure in his life and a large part of the reason that he never pursued a committed relationship with anyone was because he felt that others deserved more stability than he could ever give them. Tasha Barnes was a witch, which complicated matters further but she insisted she didn't expect anything from him and was happy to raise their child herself. She ended up giving birth to twins that she named Alicia and Max. Asa didn't want his mother to be disappointed in him or compare him to his father for not settling down to at least live nearby the kids and help raise them, so he never told her about their existence. Tasha and Asa both agreed that keeping the twin's lineage a secret was essential to their safety since they were witches and he was a hunter. He did, however, make an effort to visit a few times a year on top of birthdays and holidays to try to keep a bond with his kids, though he believed they deserved a lot better than him.
Not too long after they were born, a demon that he had exorcised in the nineties had managed to escape hell again in 2002. The demon possessed a woman that he had allowed himself to get closer to than most and killed her and her daughter before Asa could save them. This pushed Asa's opinion of himself down further and made him vow never to let himself to get too involved in another woman's life as it clearly spelled disaster for them. Not only did he was not good enough for a woman to settle down with, it was also dangerous to be romantically involved with him. The demon, whom he learned was named Jael started to make his life a living hell, leaving bodies hung in the forest for him to find to remind him of the woman he couldn't save when he exorcised it the first time. A lot of Asa's time was spent tracking Jael with friends, but he took other cases and time for himself when the trail ran cold.
About a year after he befriended Jody Mill's after he called him out on his alibi working a case in Sioux Falls, Asa and his best friend Bucky Sims got a major lead in tracking down Jael. The two traversed a forest where a body had recently been found and though Asa did not have a powerful weapon, he was ready to find a way to kill the demon and end the cycle. Bucky was nervous and voiced concern over tracking the demon, insisting that they needed to turn back and gather their bearings before going after a demon so powerful. Asa was enraged because killing Jael had been his main objective since he had come back with a vengeance against him and called Bucky a coward. The trail of bodies Jael was leaving behind needed to end. However, Bucky shoved Asa in the argument and Asa fell onto the rocks and died instantly. Bucky, ashamed of what he had done and unable to let others know that he accidentally killed Asa staged his body to look like Jael had killed him and took all of Asa's things to Lorraine's home.

2024 was an absolutely insane year, and I'm really excited to see where 2025 takes me in tattooing. I've said this a lot but I NEVER thought I'd be where I am, for better or worse, intentional or not. Everyday I just try to do my best, with what's put in front of me.

| morgan holmstrom + she/her | Congratulations, GWEN BOUCHARD survived another night. The town would certainly feel less safe without a them close by. Not to mention, we can’t lose another EMERGENCY CARE NURSE, plus they’re only 26 years old. Crazy to think, it’s been 4 YEARS since their arrival, though in a place like Oblitus it can feel much longer. Good thing they’re staying at the RESIDENTIAL AREA. Almost like it happened yesterday, they still remember SNOW LAKE, MANITOBA, and where they came from. It’s no secret, they were TRAVELING TO A WORK CONFERENCE when they came across the tree, and is still keeping them up at night. Truth be told, they’re awfully TENACIOUS and RECKLESS, but they’ve survived this long. Well, it’s almost day light again, maybe they’ll play SATURN by SLEEPING AT LAST this time. WHERE WAS YOUR CHARACTER WHEN THEY SAW THE TREE AND THE MURDER OF CROWS? WHERE WERE THEY GOING? WERE THEY TRAVELLING ALONE? HOW DID THEY FEEL?
It was supposed to be a quick weekend trip, nothing too wild. A couple hours past the border, it was a drive Gwen had done several times with friends and family. It was a drive that she didn't even need a map for - the prairies were flat and the road a straight shot. But then there was the detour off the main highway thanks to a six car pileup and then a sudden storm began to roll through, fat drops of rain drumming against her windshield. Gwen pulled onto the shoulder of the road and searched her Map app. It told her that there was a small town not too far up the road that looked to at least have a truck stop restaurant - it would be a good place to hunker down until the storm passed. She only made it a few minutes down the road until she had to slam on her breaks to avoid the sudden tree, the seatbelt tightening hard against her chest. "You have got to be kidding me," Gwen groaned, undoing her seatbelt and rubbing where it had cut into her skin. She squinted through the pouring rain and shook her head - what she had thought was a straight shot actually was a sharp turn onto a gravel road. Seatbelt clicked in place, she shifted back to drive and carefully turned the car right, going much slower than she had been before. So focused on the road in front of her, Gwen failed to notice the murder of crows taking off behind her, flying as though unimpeded by the rain.
DESCRIBE YOUR CHARACTERS FIRST DAY/NIGHT IN TOWN. DID THEY ARRIVE IN THE DAYTIME? WERE THEY WARNED BY THE RESIDENTS? DID THEY HAVE TO BE RESTRAINED?
Some characters arrived in the daytime, had time to see for themselves that there's no way out. Had time to speak to the residents, be told what is happening and choose to believe it or not. Some were not so lucky and arrived at night time, they would have had to run, hide or beg the residents to let them in. What was the situation for your character? How did they survive? Gwen arrived in Oblitus just before sunrise with the intention of finding a place to stay for the night and then setting out bright and early. Pulling into the first motel she saw, Gwen felt a shiver down her spine as she realised that the streets were almost still. Even back home, there would still be couples out for a walk and kids playing in the streets but here - it felt like the town was holding its breath. The impending sense of doom only got stronger as she tried to check in for the night. "First night in town?" the person behind the desk asked. Gwen tried explaining that she was only going to need a room for the night and that she'd be gone bright and early but she could tell they didn't believe her. That first night was the worst. Curled up on an old mattress, buried under starched sheets that smelled nothing like home, crying as her grandmother begged her to let her in. Her grandmother, who was hundreds of miles back home, who couldn't possibly have made the same trip, tapped at the window until the early morning hours. As soon as the sun came up, Gwen threw her things into the back of her car and peeled out of the parking lot, determined to leave this strange, messed up town behind and never look back. Over and over, Gwen left the town and then returned, until her car finally ran out of gas.
WHAT DID THEY LEAVE BEHIND? WHAT WAS THEIR LIFE LIKE ON THE OUTSIDE?
TW: Suicide mention, Drug use mention Gwen was no stranger to small towns. Growing up seven hours away from the largest city, she learned quickly that everyone talked and no matter how much something was supposed to be a secret, it could never stay that way for long. Not that it truly bothered her. She was always off in the bush, chasing adventure and imagining a world all her own. When her younger sister came into this world, Gwen adopted the older sister mantle with ease. No one would mess with her family - they could try but Gwen knew how to throw a punch and wasn't afraid to prove it. Of course, growing up in the North also had it's challenges. She lost more friends to suicide than anyone should and just as many to addiction. And if she was honest, without her family relying on her, Gwen may have joined them. Somehow though, Gwen made it through with only a few scars and rough nights to show. Gwen had already decided long ago that she wanted to do something helpful and useful with her life. Some people wanted to write, others knew that they were destined to work in the mines. Even as young as she was, Gwen saw the gap in her community that wasn't being filled. She was going to become a doctor. Well - doctor turned to nurse when she finished her first year of university and realised that she'd be able to help a lot faster if she went that route. So she studied hard, worked a part time job while also attending her classes and clinical rotations. And after a grueling four years, Gwen graduated near the top of her class. It was and still is, one of the proudest moments of her life, walking across the stage to accept her diploma as her family all sat in the audience, mom filming while trying to wipe away tears and her little sister beaming with pride

McKessock on William Morgan who pleaded guilty last week to escaping from Bur- wash industrial farm on Dec. 18. Morgan was serving a six-months term for vagrancy.
"I tried to escape from Burwash because I thought six months was too long a term to give a man two weeks after he got out from serving a five-year stretch," Morgan declared. He had served the longer sentence for armed robbery at Toronto, Hamilton and St. Catharines.
[Morgan, 35, single, from Cape Breton, was also known as John Sullivan, and indeed had a very long record. He also had a sailors head tattoo on his left arm and his initials on his right, and he had worked as a sailor. He told the prison authorities he was an 'intemperate drinkers.' He been on probation twice, been in various American houses of correction in his youth, had been in the Regina Jail, Manitoba Provincial Jail, and the Toronto Jail Farm, in addition to Burwash. He also had been in Kingston Penitentiary twice before, as convicts #23 and #1184. This time around he was convict #3305 and worked in a stone shed. Like most experienced prisoners, he knew his way around and avoided getting reported against the rules. He was released June 1935 to the Ontario provincial authorities.]
