Jason Todd x Reader | Fluff Word Count: 1,314 Warnings: not proofread. a dangerous amount of banter. lowkey stalking but like not in a toxic way more so playing a prank.
Is this anything anyone requested? No. Is this something I thought of writing almost a year ago walking home after classes one night but never wrote? Yes. Did I decide that nickname at his very last line and went back and immediately added it in everywhere else. Maybe.
Is this the first fic I've written since before I was in the ER in July? Also yes. I'm not sorry maybe I would be if I was paid for this.
Tumblr media
A cool breeze brushed across your cheeks as you walked down the sidewalk, the street lamps illuminating the dry concrete and the scattering of fallen autumn leaves.
You kept your hands in your jacket pockets to keep them warm, trodding along contentedly with your headphones playing music, filtering out the dreadful sounds of small bursts of late night city traffic. Your last class ran late. A three-hour lecture that ended at 9pm. Usually you'd go and get on the bus right away, but having not eaten before class, you'd stopped to get dinner at one of the late night shops on campus. Afterwards, since the next bus was going to take a half-hour to arrive, you'd decided the 25 minute walk didn't seem too bad.
You were grateful to have the opportunity to take the walk, giving you more time to yourself before you returned to the pile of dishes you knew you had left yourself in the sink.
You kept your eyes on your surroundings, like your boyfriend always told you to. Gotham was no good at night for anyone. Yet, there was no one else on this street, so there was probably no reason to worry this time around.
He also told you to stop wearing your headphones while walking around. Consistently. He just doesn't understand the peace it brings since he doesn't do it.
Halfway through your walk, your music suddenly faded to silence, before your ringtone began to play instead. You sighed at the loss of your alone with music time as you pulled out your phone to see who it was. At the sight of Jason's smiling profile picture, you perked up again, immediately tapping your screen to pick up and shoved your phone back in your pocket, the sound connecting to you headphones.
"Hello," you said cheerfully.
There was no response.
You frowned and pulled your phone back out. The call was still there. You quickly remembered how your headphones had been kicking out on phone calls lately. You sighed and slipped them off, bringing the phone to your ear instead.
"Hi, Jay," you repeat happily.
"Hi, chickpea," his voice filtered through. "What'cha doing?"
"Walking home," You smiled. "I grabbed dinner at Bel's after class and the bus was late. Where are you?"
"Stopped by yours, but realized you weren't home. I'm out and about again."
You frown, "Oh, I'm sorry. I should've texted you."
"That's fine, love," Jason let out a small chuckle, "Staying safe?"
You nod, "Mhmm. Course I am."
"Yeah? Good." He sounded unconvinced. "What was that pause at the start?"
"What pause?"
"The pause that always happens with your headphones."
You purse your lips, "I had them on in case you called."
"Riiiiight," Jason drawled.
You groan, realizing you were caught after having promised him the umpteenth time only a few days ago that you'd be more vigilant, "I promise I was watching around me."
"But you weren't listening."
"I would've seen them!"
"Not if they were coming from behind."
You pause, glancing behind you as you walked. There was no one else on the street except a man that had just left his apartment. He looked tough, rugged jeans and a black sweater with the hood pulled up over his head. He began walking down the steps and you felt a spike of panic before he turned and began walking in the direction you came.
"Mhmm," Jason hummed knowingly, filling your silence. "You're lucky he turned the other way."
"Seriously," you muttered, agreeing, and faced forward again.
You turned Jason's words over in your head. You slow to a stop. You stood for a second before looking out across the other side of the street, then the tops of the buildings.
Jason voice filtered into your ear again, grabbing your attention, "You listening to me, chickpea?"
You whip around to stare up at the top of the building to your right. You catch the slightest glint of red before it disappear behind the edge of the roof.
"Well don't do that," He said.
You couldn't help but smile, still looking up at where you'd last seen him, "Why not?"
"You'll give me away," he argued. "Keep your head down and keep walking."
You smile to yourself, but do as he says. You whisper into the phone to avoid any prying ears in passing alleyways, "Stalker."
"I am not a stalker," He sounded like he was pouting at being caught, embarrassed. "You weren’t where you were supposed to be. I got worried."
You let out a small laugh, "Come walk with me. Walk me home."
You hear the hesitation in his reply, "No can do, love. You know I don't need you associated with the Red Hood."
Scoffing, you kick a pebble, "You hate me."
"I could never hate you."
"Hmph," you can't help but glance up as you pass an alleyway, catching a glance of him jumping across it, a shadow against the light polluted sky. "Just take the helmet off and zip up your jacket."
He chuckles, "And what? Carry it at my side instead?"
"I'll put it in my bag."
"It'll be too big."
"I'll put it under my coat," You counter. "I can pretend to be pregnant. Or have a beer belly."
Jason's laugh made your cheeks warm against the cool air, "I'm wearing my domino mask tonight."
"Then take it off."
"What about my eye black?"
"I've got some make remover in my bag."
He hummed, "You've just got the answer to everything, don't you?
"I'm smart."
"That you are, darling."
"Smarter than you, apparently."
He barks out a laugh at that, "That's okay. I like 'em smart."
You blush at that, a smile tugging at your lips.
"I make up for it though," He continued.
"By being handsome?" You retort.
He hesitated and you knew he was blushing, too. "No, by being more careful."
You roll your eyes at him. There was really no harm.
You reached your apartment building, just passing the last alleyway. A hand clamped down on your wrist that held your phone to your ear, tugging you into it, pulling it away from your ear at them same time. You moved to scream when a gloved hand cover your mouth, pressing you into the wall, deep in the shadow of the two buildings. Not pushed, or shoved, just pressed.
Your eyes fixed on Jason's amused eyes, his faceplate raised to show his face. He taps the hang up button on your phone with his thumb, slipping it back in your pocket to rest his hand on your hip.
He slips his other hand off your mouth and you're already glaring, "You're not wearing your domino mask."
Jason grinned, "Sorry, love." He leaned down and kissed your cheek, the metal along his chin brushing your jaw. "I'm serious, though. Please stop wearing your headphones when walking around."
You huff slightly, slumping against the wall in defeat, "Fine."
Jason hums again and tilts your chin up with his fingers, pressing a kiss to your lips, "Thank you."
You kiss him back, easily accepting the affection from him, "Come inside?"
He gives you an apologetic smile and shakes his head, "I've gotta get going."
You huff dramatically, "You hate me."
Jason chuckles, "Well maybe if you hadn't stopped for that garbage food."
"But it's so good."
"I swear," he shook his head. "If I don't lose you to an easily avoided mugging it's gonna be heart failure from whatever that stuff is."
You grin and lean into him, "I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Bright and early," He kissed you again, letting it linger. "Love you, chickpea."
You cupped his face as you kissed him back, "Love you, too, Jaybaby."
With a squeeze of your hip, he took a step back and closed his faceplate, watching you leave he alley and turn the corner, entering your building.

chris sighed as his four year old rejected his food again. he felt like he had made every possible meal by now. eggs, pancakes, waffles, he even went out of his way to call his mom for a french toast recipe. “owen, buddy. hey i need you to eat.” he frowns, ruffling the kids hair. “i’ve made you everything by now! i can’t make you much more… we don’t have much more. i’m gonna be eatin all this food for multiple meals.” he whispers. he knew that owen didn’t understand much, but he still tried. owen huffed and crossed his arms, shaking his head.
“cocoa puffs!” he whines, pouting his big brown eyes at his father. owen, otherwise a spitting image of chris, had his mothers eyes. it was the only feature he seemed to have of hers. chris sighs again as he nods in defeat, grabbing the cereal box from the top of the fridge. he serves a small portion in an equally small bowl for the boy, but groans when he’s opens the fridge and discovers he’s out of milk. that damn french toast. he glances outside to determine if it was worth going out with a toddler. when he sees the snow falling, he decides against it.
“sorry bud. guess you’ll have to eat it dry.” he mumbles, giving the boy an apologetic kiss on the head. owen frowns at the sight, pushing the cereal away too. chris’ frown grows and if anyone were to see the two boys pouting at that moment they’d know they were related. “owen.” he speaks sternly, his patience suddenly flying out the window into the storm. owen’s little lip trembles at his dad’s tone. chris never yells. he’s never mean. he swore to be everything his dad wasn’t. tears form in the poor boys eyes. he’s about to break down. chris tries his best to prevent the situation by pulling him into his arms, rubbing the back of his head. “hey… it’s okay. we’ll go buy some milk later and you can have that for lunch yeah?” he mumbles, running fingers through the boys hair. when owen begins to reply, he’s cut off by a knock on their door.
owen hops off his chair and begins running towards the door, his little feet going slower than he hopes. “mommy! daddy mommy’s here!” he yells. chris only frowns cause he knows that no, owen’s mom definitely isn’t there. as much as he wishes that she was on the other side, he knew that there was no way. he catches up to the boy and moves him aside gently.
“no bud it’s not mommy. move over so i can open the door yeah?” chris whispers, slowly opening the door. he’s shocked when you’re on the other side, a big tupperwear in your hands. “hey, kid. what are you doin here? it’s storming out there, don’t tell me you came all the way over here to return an old container of mine? unless you’re just using it as an excuse for something else which… just isn’t the best time right now.” he asks, moving aside to let you in. you shake your head as you walk in, pushing your hood off your head.
“no i um… actually made like… way too much chicken noodle soup last night. my dad told me to bring some over.” you smile, placing it on the table. you kneel down to be eye level with owen, noticing his messy hair. “y’just wake up or something? why’s that hair a mess?” you joke, glancing up towards chris. you smile at him, his hair messy just like his toddlers. owen giggles at your words, tumbling towards the container on the counter.
“daddy, soup?” he whispers, batting his eyes at his father. chris chuckles and nods, taking the container to the kitchen and serving the young boy some. a genuine smile runs across chris’ face when owen begins happily eating, enjoying every bite. chris sends you a look. you can’t tell what it’s for at first, but you understand when chris speaks.
“thank you… he hasn’t wanted to eat anything yet.” he whispers, looking over all the other food on his kitchen counter. “you hungry?” his smile grows when you nod and begin to dig into some of the food sitting out.

Omg really? Wow, thank you so much. That's honestly amazing to me, considering this was one of the hardest for me to write in Smoke Eater. 💞
(But after reading your wonderful review, thank you for making me cry. 🥹💗💗)
First of all, please don't apologize for the heartfelt thoughts you want to share with me. No matter how long or short, I love hearing what you think about my writing, and this is genuinely one of the best reviews I've ever received, because I can tell it came from the heart.
What's crazy is my mom and I also used to watch Chicago Fire together when she was trying to recover from surgery (where she had terrible complications and wasn't well for a long time). It became her comfort show, and I was happy to introduce it to her/have that bonding time where it kept her from thinking about her pain. But I'm so glad you thought to come here to perk yourself up after a rewatch.
honestly I have so many thoughts for each wonderful chapter but I would feel super guilty for spamming :’) this chapter in particular though, hits me harder than anything i’ve ever read before — not in a bad way!🤍
lol girl that's the best kind of spamming. I'd never be upset with that! 😂 Oh good, I'm glad it doesn't hit in a bad way. I was concerned about that for readers when I was first posting this part of the story. 💙
my mom had epilepsy, and I was her caretaker pretty much my entire life. I connect so much with this story because it, feels like i’m reading a mirror, if that makes any sense at all. with all the doctors and the worrying, it’s written so authentically, which is understandable after reading your author’s note. i’m so sorry you’ve experienced such difficult hardships and losses yourself honey, I offer my sincere condolences. and i’m sending you the biggest hugs 🫂🤍🤍
I'm sending you the biggest hugs right back, friend. I'm so sorry about what your mom went through, and what you went through too. Being a caretaker is not easy. I've seen it enough in my family that that's what I drew from in order to write this, so I'm glad it felt authentic to your experience. 🫂💞
now these lines/parts specifically had me crying like a baby lol. december of 2021, my mom had to have surgery at the start of the month. her recovery was going a little slow, but well. however she passed away overnight, 2 days after christmas, completely unexpected. the day before she had been doing so well too— she had more energy and was more mobile without needing as much assistance. came to find out later that’s something nurses call a surge? :/ either way, those moments in particular really tugged at my heartstrings ❤️‍🩹
I'm so sorry for your loss, my friend. It is blind sighting when it comes so unexpected like that. I haven't shared this publicly, but something similar happened with my grandfather this past December. His health declined suddenly, to the point we had to take him to the hospital. After seeming to get better after a few days, he went downhill even harder, and he passed away in mid-December. It's not the same thing as your situation, but I understand the feeling of "why did this happen like this?" But now he's at peace with my grandma. And your mom is free from her pain and discomfort too. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
this line too. I felt this way for so long after my mom died. I didn’t get the final cause for a while since she passed at home and not at a hospital, and to this day I wish I could go back. wish I could’ve done something different. but SUDEP (or, sudden unexpected death in epilepsy) is completely unpreventable so far. I just find it so cruel that this illness I spent my whole life helping her with, ended up taking her anyway and nothing I did mattered in the end. so reading that line, how she broke down, and everything she had been holding in, it really made my heart ache but I also felt less alone in a way.
And I'm sure you did everything you possibly could, just like the reader in this story. 💞 I didn't know about SUDEP, but I have a family member who takes medication for his epilepsy, so I'm going to be reading up on that. I'm so glad that this simple line made you feel less alone in any small way -- I also thought when I was writing that it not only fit what the character was going through, but that other people who've been caretakers for a family member like this would be able to identify with this feeling as well.
everything that followed, it’s like reading a reflection. I shutdown and just went through the motions afterwards too, but ohhh how nice it would’ve been to have a dean ❤️ his support, how he takes care of her, it’s so heartwarming. and it’s really comforting to read. <3
It's that awful "autopilot" thing that somehow allows us to get through the aftermath, in a way, right? If only we could all have a Dean to support us in those moments. Somehow, reading hurt/comfort fics help me feel better too though. 💓💓
a lot of my family distanced themselves afterwards which, it is what it is. that being said, the sentiment in this story of family isn’t always blood resonates with me a lot. my support system is really small, but they chose to be there for me unlike my blood relatives so, that theme in this story means so much — the way dean’s chosen family shows up for her as well, it’s so sweet. 💖
Ugh really? I'm sorry to hear that. 💙💙 But thank you for pointing that out -- that is the overarching theme of this story, a la SPN style. 🥹 Your chosen family can be just as powerful, if not more, than your blood family. And in this story, Dean's family is basically "adopting" the reader/you into it. 💕
I guess the gist of what i’m trying to say, is I wholeheartedly adore this series and it truly means so much to me 🤍 I appreciate your work so much, and I love the unique feeling each piece of your writing brings 💗💗 I know I may sound like a broken record but truly I don’t think I can ever put into words how much I love your blog. you are an absolute sweetheart, truly a light peeking out between cloudy skies 💞
Wow, I really did tear up of happiness. Thank you. 🥹🥹 I appreciate you right back for reading this story and connecting with it like you did. And I'm so glad that you enjoy my blog!! I've only been here on Tumblr for about 2 years actively, but connecting with people like you is what's keeping me here, and honestly gives me energy to write and express myself when I'm going through hard times.
This chapter specifically was very difficult for me to write for multiple reasons, as you saw in my AN, but again it makes me all the more grateful that this is the chapter you connect with the most. I'm very sorry for your loss though. I'm really touched that this story can give you some small comfort. 💞
(And no it's not too much. Thank YOU for taking the time to share this with me.)

Part 11: “Heart of the Home”
You sat very still.
Your hands were gripped together in your lap when the doctor entered. He was tall and lean and blonde, and he would’ve reminded you of your boss, except this man had a kinder face.
You were sitting on the edge of your grandfather’s bed, hoping the doctor would say the bloodwork and scans came back fine. That they wouldn’t need to admit George into the hospital for further testing. That he could go home in the morning.
But your life had never been quite that easy.
“Okay, George. I’m sorry, but we need to admit you,” said the doctor.
He explained that while the malignant tumor of his cancer had been removed last year, the scans that had been done last month hadn’t been able to detect the bright spots now formed on George’s lungs and lymph nodes.
The oncologist would have to confirm, but you all knew where this was headed. Likely those “bright spots” were tumors.
George nodded slowly at first, taking it all in. He asked what his options were, as far as treatment.
“Your oncologist will go over those options with you,” the doctor replied. “We’re going to move you up to Oncology shortly.”
George thanked him.
And you sat very still.
A hand fell on your arm, finally earning your gaze. George’s face was oddly calm, though the worry in his eyes was for you. You realized that he’d gently called your name, though you hadn’t heard him. Your ears were ringing.
His mouth parted to tell you something, but nothing came out. So instead, he tugged you into his arms, and he heaved a long sigh.
“I guess we’re here again,” he admitted. He let out a chuckle. “The Lord does like his tests…but maybe that car accident was a blessing in disguise, huh?”
You heard his voice, but your mind was buzzing—mainly with the doctor’s words, and with a bone-deep feeling that threatened to consume you.
Your car, your fault. Options, again. Here again.
Your fault.
When you didn’t answer, George pulled away a bit to give you a questioning look.
“Sweetheart?” he tried. You laid a hand on his arm.
“You still haven’t eaten dinner, have you?” you asked. Neither had you, for that matter. “I’ll get us something that isn’t rubbery turkey.”
George blinked at you, confused, with a growing edge of worry.
“Isn’t Dean getting your meds? Why don’t you wait for him to—”
“I’m fine,” you said, already getting up to grab your purse. “I’ll be back.”
George called your name again, but the ringing in your ears was now pulsing in time with your heartbeat.
You made your way down the hall to the lobby at a brusque clip, even with your neck brace on. You didn’t see Dean, but he certainly saw you as he was walking back into the hospital. Frowning, he followed and called out to you.
You slowed when you saw him, and he soon caught up with you. He rested a hand on your back.
“Hey, where you goin’?" he asked.
“We haven’t eaten in a while. I’m going to the cafeteria,” you said. Though you seemed distracted, your eyes meeting his only briefly. It triggered a small spidey sense running up Dean’s spine.
He gave you your prescription pain medication, which you took with a small “thank you.”
“Everything okay?” he asked. “How’s George doing?”
“Fine. He’s resting,” you said. And by the look of you, that seemed to be true. But he spotted the tremble in your hands when you took the pill bottle package from him. It made him stop you when you tried to keep walking down to the cafeteria.
“Okay, you wanna run that by me again?” Dean asked.
You frowned, and your brows knit together. “What?”
“Is there something going on?” he pressed.
You sighed, but you didn’t answer him. You looked exhausted, and like you’d rather swallow your own tongue than speak. You shook your head and laid a hand on his wrist.
“I’m fine. Dean, thank you for everything you did tonight, but you still have to work tomorrow. Go home, get some rest,” you said.
You turned from him again. That was your first mistake. He reached out and grasped your hand to stop you.
“Hey, wait a minute,” he said.
“What?” you said in irritation. Your second mistake was not being able to look at him.
Dean was frowning in earnest now. Worry clawed in his gut, which was also telling him not to let you walk away from him. His grip shifted to hold both of your arms and move directly in front of you. He dipped his chin, trying to get you to meet his eyes.
“Come on, sweetheart,” he said gently. “I need you to talk to me.”
You inhaled a shuddering breath. A wave was rising inside you, threatening to pull you into its undertow. Your eyes burned, red and shining. Dean finally saw it when you raised your head, what little you could. Your mouth began to quiver, looking into his eyes. And it was done.
You could no longer be still.
Dean held you when you fell apart in the hallway.
Tumblr media
Dean called out of work the next day to stay with you and George. Gordon would be acting Lieutenant until his next shift, and Dean was sure the man would take full enjoyment out of it.
He couldn’t care about that right now though. He felt that his place was here, being your quiet wall of support while you and George and the oncologist talked about treatment options.
“Normally, at the stage we’re in, I would be recommending chemotherapy,” said Dr. Benton.
“Normally?” you echoed.
“At the rate this is progressing, the treatment would have to be aggressive,” he said. His gaze focused on George. “However, at your age, and the current state of your overall health…at this point, I don’t think the rigors of treatment would be worth diminishing your quality of life.”
“What are you saying?” you asked. Your voice cut like a whip, earning the other men’s gazes.
George was the first one to lay a hand on your arm. “You know what it means, honey…he’s saying it ain’t worth it.”
“Of course, it’s worth it,” you retorted. With your brows furrowed and lips pursed, your eyes went from him to the doctor. “Just because he’s older, we shouldn’t even try? Is that what you’re saying, doctor?”
At that, even Dean drew closer to lay a hand on your back. Meanwhile, George squeezed your arm.
Benton shook his head gravely. “That’s certainly not what I’m saying.”
“How much time would I get, if I started treatment,” George asked, before you could volley further with the doctor.
Benton met the other man’s gaze.
“I’m going to be honest with you, George. You may get a few more weeks, or even a few months. But that is a best-case scenario.”
Tumblr media
Dean drove you all home that day, after George decided to formally waive treatment. Both men knew you were angry in your silence, but neither one wanted to press you. Dean was too wary, and George was too tired.
Once he was settled in bed, you hadn’t even left his room yet before you grabbed a notepad off his desk and wandered into the hall. You started to make a list of things you still needed from the grocery store, among other things. Dean took that piece of paper out of your hands.
“Good. I’ll handle this,” he said. “Meanwhile, you can get upstairs, take a shower, take your meds, and get some sleep.”
You frowned at him. “You haven’t slept either, Dean.”
“I’m used to it,” he said, giving you a wink and a slight smile. Overnight shifts could be a bitch at a firehouse, but Dean was no stranger to having his sleep interrupted.
“Listen to him, honey. He’s speaking sense,” George called from inside his room. The bedroom door was still open. He was settling into his bed while trying to stifle a cough. He sipped at a cup of water you’d brought for him.
Still, you looked reluctant. Dean held your arms and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“Come on,” he said. “You were in an accident yesterday. You’ve had one hell of a night. You need your rest, or you’ll be no good to anyone.”
And if you pushed yourself much more, he worried that he’d have to take you right back to the hospital. Dean would rather not have that scare so close to the last one.
He brushed your cheek with gentle fingers. With the limited mobility your neck brace provided, you did your best to look up at him. Your eyes were softer.
“Okay,” you breathed.
“Okay? All right, good,” Dean said. You held onto his jacket for a moment, leaning against him.
“Thank you,” you whispered. You felt the burn of tears behind your closed eyelids. A few of them squeezed past and slipped down your cheeks. Dean held your face, brushing the tears away with his thumbs.
“Hey, I’m here, all right? Just let me help you,” he said. “You can lean on me when you need to.”
“I haven’t had that in a long time,” you admitted. “Part of me doesn’t know how to lean.”
“I get that,” Dean said. But you both knew that there was a long and difficult road ahead. He knew he didn’t have to remind you of it. “Whatever you need, you just tell me, okay? If nothing else, I’ve got a strong pair of shoulders.”
Somehow, you smiled. You pressed your forehead against his chest and inhaled deeply, to steady yourself.
“That you do, Lieutenant.”
You left for your room soon after, but not before you brought him down to you for one more tearful kiss.
Dean then watched you climb up the stairs to your room and nearly went up to help you, but he heard George call his name. Dean ventured back into George’s room and heeded his beckoning hand.
“You hungry? I can scramble some eggs or something before I hit the store. I think I saw two more left in the carton,” Dean said. George shook his head.
“Come ‘ere a sec.”
Dean took the hint and sat on the edge of the bed.
“I just wanna thank you for everything you did yesterday. Everything you’re still doing for us,” George said. He looked exhausted, but whatever he wanted to say was important enough to fight off sleep. He clasped a hand on Dean’s arm.
“You don’t have to,” Dean replied.
George huffed. A smile made his eyes gleam brighter.
“I knew you were a special one, Dean Winchester. Knew it the night I met ya, on your very first date with her.”
Dean blinked, but his pause drifted into a reserved smile.
“How’s that?” he asked.
“Well, I’ll be honest. When I heard that black Chevy rumble like hell’s wheels onto the driveway, I thought I might have to worry about you,” George chuckled.
Dean’s lips quirked.
“But no, it wasn’t that. It wasn’t the pretty flowers, or our mutual love of killer sharks,” George quipped, making Dean’s smile more genuine. “It isn’t your job either, or the fact that you saved her. I just believe that you can see a man’s mettle in his eyes…and I saw it in you when I shook your hand that night.”
Dean took that in for a moment. His hand flexed over his knee. Then he met George’s gaze, though he didn’t know what to say. Sometimes though, honestly was the best bet.
“I’m sorry for what you’re going through,” he said at last. “I can’t imagine…”
George let out a breath through his nose. “I’ll tell you a secret.”
He pointed to a picture frame on his bedside. It was of him and his wife, Sophie, when they were around your age and Dean’s. The couple were sitting on a pier that hung over the edge of the lake in their hometown.
She held him from behind, with her arms wrapped around his neck. Her long hair was being carried by the wind, getting swept into George’s eyes. He was smiling too hard to care.
“I’m ready to smile like that again,” he said. He had tears in his eyes, but he was already lighter at the thought. “I know it’s selfish…but I think I’ve missed her long enough.”
Dean paused. Then he cleared his throat past a small well of something he couldn’t name. He wondered if his dad ever had thoughts like that.
“Well, I’ll let you get your rest,” he said. “I’ll be back.”
George nodded and gave Dean’s arm a squeeze. “All right. Drive safe. Don’t hit any goddamn trees.”
He shot Dean a knowing wink, and it almost had the younger man laughing. George’s sense of humor was something else.
Dean then left George to rest. He made sure he had his wallet, keys, and your grocery list before he left your house and went back to the car. He checked his phone and saw a missed call…from Cas.
Dean was reminded again about Azazel, the kingpin who might’ve ordered a hit on his family. Along with the recent murders and arsons, and the connection from one of the victims to your company, Savage & Co.
Dean returned the call as he climbed into the Impala.
“Dean. Everything all right?” Cas asked. “Sam filled me in about the accident.”
“Yeah, everyone’s okay…well, not really. I’ll explain later,” Dean replied. “Listen, about what we talked about at the bar.”
“Yes.” Cas said gravely. “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t go to your father about this yet.”
“Funny, I was thinking the same thing.” Dean sighed. “My girl just got some real bad news. I know you gotta keep digging into Savage & Co., but can you keep her out of it?”
“Is she all right?”
“Yeah, more or less…it’s her grandfather.”
“Ah, I see,” Cas said. “I’m sorry to hear that.”
“Thanks, man. I’d rather her just focus on what she needs to do right now, you know?”
“I get it. And believe me, we’re keeping the investigation of Nick Savage quiet for now,” Cas said. “But if we find something, or worse, if I can’t…I’ll likely need to question her. She works directly with Savage, and from what I can tell, she’s instrumental in bringing in and maintaining several of his major accounts.”
Dean stopped at a red light and took a moment to rub a hand over his tired face, rubbing his eyes. “You don’t really think she’s got any idea of what that asshole’s into.”
“I’m not saying she does. But in working so closely with him, perhaps she’s noticed things about her boss, and the company. Things she’s kept to herself, out of self-preservation.”
Dean frowned. He didn’t want to think about shit like that. It made his stomach churn at the thought of you working for someone who might be doing business with a crime lord, let alone Azazel.
“Well, when that day comes, give me a heads up, okay?”
“Will do.”
“Thanks, Cas.”
Tumblr media
Dean offered to take another day off to help you, but you wouldn’t let him. He needed to go back to work, and you were able to arrange working from home for the next few weeks.
Even Nick couldn’t refuse to accommodate you in a situation like this. He knew very well that if he pushed you too hard, you’d go directly to HR.
So he backed off, and told you to take as much time at home as you needed. It allowed you to put him, and that afternoon in his office, away from your mind to focus on taking care of your grandfather.
Though you called your best friend the day you got home from the hospital, Andréa didn’t come by your house to see you and George until the end of the week. She cited mounting projects at work and some kind of tiff with her cousin Meg, but it all sounded like excuses to you.
However, she was gracious enough to bring dinner for the three of you on a Friday night. She cut up with George like normal, and even got him laughing, until a coughing fit forced him to stop. It also took most of the joy out of the rest of the evening.
While George went up to his room to rest, Andréa later joined you in the kitchen. You were washing the dishes, trying to focus on what you were doing. But your mind was buzzing continuously with future tasks and worries. Always, tasks and worries.
“How are you holding up?” Andréa asked. She rubbed your back, and you gave her a slight smile.
“All I can do is make him comfortable, for as long as possible,” you replied. There were tears in your friend’s eyes, but she dabbed them away with the back of her hand.
“What do you need? Anything, you just tell me,” she said.
It was a little easier for you to contemplate leaning on Andréa. You had been friends with her for years, and she was like another daughter to George.
On the other hand, asking Dean for help always made you hesitate. What you two had was still so new. You worried that this was too much for your relationship, too fast.
“Well,” you sighed as you wiped your hands dry on a kitchen towel. You didn’t exactly want to talk about it, but there were things you had to start planning, even if you didn’t know the exact timeframe.
However, as soon as you opened your mouth to reply, Andréa’s cell phone rang. She held up a finger to you and checked it. To your surprise, she actually answered it.
“Hey, babe,” she replied with a smile. You heard Benny’s deep voice on the line, asking a question. “Yeah, I’m still here. I’m probably leaving soon though.”
She continued her conversation for a few more minutes, but you didn’t hear anything after that. A tension headache was sharp behind your eyes, while anger (yes, anger) rolled hot under your skin. Your lips pursed. You busied yourself with straightening up the kitchen until she continued her call for another few minutes.
“Sorry about that,” she said, finally turning her attention back to you. “So what do you need?”
You put away the last dry dish and turned to her coolly.
“Nothing.”
Andréa frowned. She knew there was something off with you, but her furrowed brows betrayed her confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing,” you repeated. “Don’t you need to head out, anyway?”
“No, I was just…what’s up with you?” she asked.
“What’s up with me is my grandfather’s dying!” you snapped. You left her in the kitchen, precisely so that she’d follow you out. You grabbed her purse for her and went to the front door, where you stepped out.
Andréa was dismayed and confused as she followed you out onto the porch. She raised her brows at you when you shut the door and crossed your arms at her.
“I know you, and this isn’t just about that. What’s the problem?” she asked.
“You can’t seem to detach from your boyfriend for more than five minutes to just be my friend. That’s the problem,” you replied. “But why should I be surprised? Like always, you’re too wrapped up in yourself to consider anyone else.”
Her brows knitted together; she looked hurt by your words, but also defensive.
“How can you say that when you’ve been exactly the same way?” she accused. “Since you met Dean, I’d be lucky to see you once a week—”
“I call you every week,” you began, counting the list with your fingers. “You’re always busy, but you never give me a day that works for you. And when we do make plans, you usually cancel. Why? Because you’re going sailing with Benny. You’re going to a restaurant, hours away, just to try the new sushi bar beer garden, or whatever the hell. Or you’re going on an impromptu road trip, or you’re planning a summer trip to Greece. Give me fucking break, Dre.”
By now she was frowning angrily, her arms crossed. “You’re mad at me because I have a life?”
“No. I’m happy for you that you found someone. I really am,” you said. “But we clearly live in two different versions of reality. I just don’t have the time or the energy to entertain yours.”
You knew you were being too harsh. You felt incredible guilt as soon as it all left your mouth…but part of you also felt like a weight had been lifted off your chest. The problem was, you still felt heavy. Just in a different way.
Both of you were crying when Andréa left your house.
Tumblr media
All too soon, a week became a month. In that time, Dean called you every day to check on you. He spent most of his evenings with you and George when he wasn’t on shift. And when he was, sometimes Meg would drop in.
She understood your argument with Andréa, and she respected you for taking a stand when you needed to. She even confided you that she’d had similar frustrations with her cousin lately.
But Meg wasn’t your only visitor. Ellen had come a few times to bring you lunch and dinner, even breakfast, though you hadn’t asked her to. You realized then how close Dean must be to his friends at the firehouse, along with the Harvelles; Ellen also refused to take any money from you for the food.
By the end of the month, George mainly spent his days sleeping. Pain medication made his days nearly painless, but not without struggle. You were doing your best to care for him while continuing to work full-time from home. You were also exhausted, though you refused to admit it.
Today was a better day, however, because George was awake. He was also more aware of his surroundings than usual.
He stopped you from adjusting his pillow so you would sit down on the edge of his bed. He took your hand in his, brushing a thumb over the back of it.
“I’m okay with this, you know,” he said. You pursed your lips, but he stopped you from whatever you were going to say. “I don’t want to leave you. You know that…but I’m so damn proud of you. Your Gram was, and still is…”
Your lower lip wobbled as you tried and failed to keep your tears at bay. They stung in your eyes and slipped past your defenses, down your face.
“The house is yours. But if that’s too hard for you, just sell it,” he said, heaving a deep breath. “It’s just the bones. You’re the heart. And you always have been.”
You opened your mouth to speak, but not a sound would come out. You held his hand with both of yours and stared down at them. Until his voice once again commanded your attention.
“I always thought…moving to the city ruined my daughter. That we should’ve stayed in Lebanon. That maybe I gave her too much freedom, and I failed her somehow along the way,” George said. His eyes were heavy with old heartache. And yet, they soon began to lighten.
“But the day we lost a daughter, we gained one too,” he said. Then, he chuckled a little. “And I know I never failed with you, sweetheart.”
That proved to be too much for you. He pulled you into his arms like you were still a child, and he held you for a long time while you cried yourself out.
Though he eventually spotted Dean hesitating in the doorway. He’d probably let himself in with the spare key you’d given him.
George raised a hand from your back and silently beckoned Dean inside his room. He was getting tired, drifting off thanks to the morphine.
“Hey, lookie there. The boyfriend’s here,” George whispered with a bit of cheek. You sucked in a breath and raised your head, wiping at your eyes before you turned around. Dean met you with an attempt at a smile and a gentle hand on your back.
“Just got out of work?” you asked. He’d been on a 24-hour shift, and you’d missed him. You stood and stepped into his welcoming embrace. He dropped a kiss on your forehead.
“Yeah. I’ve got the next couple of days off,” Dean said. He greeted George next and asked him if he needed anything.
“Just some water,” the older man replied.
“I’ll get it,” you said with a sniff. “Need to start dinner too.”
“I already brought some food. You like Italian, right?” Dean said, with a subtle smile. It earned your sigh and a grateful smile. He knew very well that it was now one of your favorites. Italian meatballs always reminded you both of your first date.
“Thank you,” you said, grasping his hand. He squeezed yours with a nod, before he let you go.
When you were out of earshot, George cleared his throat past a wet cough. Dean reached over and grabbed him a tissue. George took it with a nod. Again, he encouraged Dean to come closer.
“I’m not worried,” George said, between deep breaths. “You know why?”
Dean just stared back for a moment. He genuinely had no idea what the man might say next.
“Tell me,” he said.
“My granddaughter’s strong. Always has been, because she had to be,” said George. “But you’re gonna be there when she’s not.”
Dean considered the weight of that charge. The anxiety in his chest felt familiar; like the day he got his badge at the Fire Academy, knowing then the responsibility he held in his hands.
That’s a lot to put on just three months of knowing this girl, came a more selfish thought. It sounded a lot like the guy he used to be, not too long before he met you.
But when Dean thought about you, and what you’d begun to mean to him…
He realized that he only had one answer.
“Yes, sir. I am,” said Dean.
George gave a tired smile. “Good man.”
And that night, an agreement was made.
In the morning, your grandfather was gone.
Tumblr media
Dean held you through what he thought was the worst of your heartbreak. But after that dour morning, it was like a switch flipped inside you.
In the days after George’s death, your shutters came up. You threw yourself into checklists and task after task—in funeral arrangements and planning and contacting distant relatives and friends.
This was your failsafe. Your version of “autopilot.” And these things needed to get done, after all.
But Dean worried when he no longer saw the softer side of you. Like your heart had been wrung dry.
He inevitably had to go back to work, but in between the demanding hours of his schedule, he tried to get you to slow down. He saw the warning signs of you running yourself into the ground. He just didn’t know how to help you land.
So Dean picked up slack where he saw it, often without you asking him to. He began fixing the house, one section at a time. He enlisted Benny’s help, since he actually had a small construction business. Dean even paid for the materials himself without you knowing.
And one sunny afternoon, he took a break from repaving part of the cracked and uneven driveway to grab a beer inside. You were sitting at the kitchen table with stacks of papers all around you, your cellphone on speaker as some kind of elevator music continued to ring on a loop.
“Can you believe I’ve been on hold with the funeral director for 20 minutes?” you told him in irritation. But you didn’t truly take sight of him until he came back from the kitchen.
He wore a familiar ensemble of jeans and black undershirt with a plaid shirt, rolled up to his elbows. He was covered in a fine layer of sweat, and his hands were dusty and stained from his work on the driveway. Dean looked tired, and that made you feel guilty.
Meanwhile, he frowned and popped open a beer. “You want one of these? Looks like you could use one.”
You shook your head. With a sigh, you hung up the phone. You’d try calling again later. Instead, you focused on the next item of your checklist for today.
“Food. Because we’re gonna need to eat after the service,” you inclined your head. “Okay, still need to come up with a list of caterers, because I don’t think I can cook for that many people.”
Dean nodded at that. “Let me talk to Ellen. She’ll give you a good price, and her food is good.”
You looked up from your notepad and considered him thoughtfully. You wouldn’t have thought to cater from a bar, but he was right. Ellen had great food at the Roadhouse.
“Okay, I’ll call her,” you said.
“No, I’ll call her,” Dean insisted. He set down the beer on the table and leaned his palms flat on its surface. “Sweetheart, I told you I’d help you with all this. You don’t have to do it by yourself.”
“Dean, you’ve done enough,” you replied. Your brows drew together stubbornly. “You’re paving my driveway right now, for God’s sake! This is my responsibility, not yours.”
Dean frowned, making you sigh. You leaned back in your seat and crossed your arms.
“Look, we’ve only been dating for three months,” you said. And in your mind, a good chunk of that time had been spent in the worst hell of your life. “This right here? It’s a lot. I’m not expecting you to deal with all this…”
You bit your lip, and your gaze fell away from his as your insecurities took hold. The thoughts that had been plaguing you every night since this all began, on the night of the car accident.
“And…if you’d rather take a break from us for a while, I’d understand,” you said.
Your voice was more collected than you felt. But that didn’t make it any easier when Dean stared back at you, mostly incredulous. You even thought you saw a thread of hurt there, and it made your heartache worsen.
Dean came around to your side of the table. He dragged a chair back and sunk into it, facing you directly.
“You think that’s the kind of guy I am?” he asked.
You immediately shook your head. You weren’t trying to upset him, or imply that he wasn’t reliable, or trustworthy, or whatever was running through his head. You were just trying to be realistic.
You’re so pragmatic it hurts, as Andréa had often told you.
“Dean, it’s not that…” you began, a bit helplessly. “I just—”
“Just, nothin’.” His chair scraped toward you as he reached out for your hand. He made sure you looked him in the eyes when he said this next part.
“I’m not leaving you with this.”
Your gaze met his, though you desperately tried to keep your heart from rising into your throat.
“I’m not leaving you,” Dean said. His tone, his eyes, his hold on your hand was firm.
For a moment, you stared at him, unblinking, even as tears swam in your eyes.
He’s not leaving you.
Not like everyone else in your life.
You were grateful. Too grateful, even, for words.
When you finally broke down into tears, Dean realized what an idiot he’d been. Your wall of stoicism had been just that—a flimsy wall. Now it was shattered, and so were you.
It scared him just how much, as he gathered you onto his lap and into his arms. You didn’t seem to care that he was dirty and covered with sweat. You clung to him strong, and he held you back just as tightly.
“No matter what I did, it wasn’t enough,” you confessed. “You save people all the time. I couldn’t save anyone in my life.”
Dean frowned. He cupped the back of your head, and he felt your tears sliding down his neck. His voice was thick with emotion when he was able to reply.
“Oh, baby. It’s not your fault.”
“I can’t…I can’t do anything. Anything that matters.” Your voice was a broken whisper. It damn near broke his heart.
“Now you know that’s not true,” he said. “I’m not gonna let you lie to yourself like that.”
You trembled and heaved with sobs, and he continued to hold you.
Just be there, Sam had told him, when Dean had called him from the hospital. Sam reminded him again last week, when George finally passed.
Is that all I’m supposed to do? Dean thought. His brows furrowed, but he tried to hide his frustration.
He was used to people depending on him. He led a team. Before then, he’d looked out for Sam all his life. Dean had never had to help someone get through this kind of grief though. He just wanted to help you, in whatever way he could.
Because he was worrying, just like you. That whatever he did, it wouldn’t be enough.
But he couldn’t leave you.
I can’t, and I won’t, he thought. So he took a breath, and he said the first true thing that came to mind.
“You’re the strongest woman I know, you know that?” Dean said. He spoke low and steady, but with the conviction he felt. “And that’s a tall order, considering some of the badass ladies I’ve got in my life.”
A smile tugged at his lips when he considered people like Ellen and Jo, Jody and Donna. He might’ve lost his mom, but he and Sam hadn’t lacked when it came to influential women in their lives.
“But I saw it the day we met. I see it every time we’re together,” he continued. “You work hard as hell. You take care of everyone around you…”
You were still quiet, trying to stifle your crying.
Dean let out a breath. “Man, if you only knew how much you’ve been helping me. Keeping my damn feet on the ground with this whole…arsonist mess my dad’s been investigating. Digging up the past, my mom, the whole damn thing.”
With a sniffle, you uncurled from him, just enough to reveal your face. Your grip on his shirt loosened, your palm flattening on his chest. He held your hand there and turned his lips to your forehead. He sensed that you were calming down. That you were listening.
“That matters to me,” he told you.
You nodded and tightened your hand on his. “Me too.”
Your voice was still shaky, but it sounded a little stronger.
“See? You might as well face it.” Dean grinned. “You’re a badass chick with a big heart.”
You snorted in response. Your lips even twitched at a smile. He spied it when he looked down at you. And you rested easier against him as your tears subsided.
“Thank you,” you whispered. He dried your cheek with a brush of his hand.
“For what?” he asked.
“For staying.”

AN: So first off, I'm sorry for the gritty "reality" of this one. It's just where the story took me, though it serves a purpose narratively and for both the reader and Dean's character development.
But also, I think this has just been on my mind, since both my grandmother and great uncle (brother and sister) died within a year of one another due to different forms of cancer. My great uncle passed in May of this year, and my grandmother two years this past October.
Again, I'm sorry if this one was too heavy, but art does imitate life and this was probably my brain trying to express those emotions I couldn't fully make sense of at the time. George will be missed, but will still be felt in the rest of this story, as I'm sure any of you who've lost close family members will understand. 💙
Next Time:
The identity of Azazel will finally be revealed in Part 12. But first...
You nodded. “By the way, it was nice of Sam and Eileen to come. And Meg and Cas.”
Dean smiled.
“They can be your people too,” he said. “If you want ‘em to be.”
You couldn’t help it. Your tears brewed and bubbled over. And you moved slowly across the couch to twine your arms around his neck. Dean’s lips tugged at a smile, and he welcomed you with an arm wrapping around your waist.
Both of you were still wearing the same clothes you’d been wearing all day; you in your black dress and Dean in his slacks and white buttoned-down shirt, though by now without the jacket, and the shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
You were infinitely exhausted. But one thing had become clear to you over the past few weeks.
“Thank you. Thank you for today, and for every day since we met,” you said shakily.

One Soul | Matt Murdock x Reader
Matt Murdock Masterlist
Summary: Matt gets hurt, badly, so you have to do the one thing you promised him you wouldn't: take him to a hospital.
Warnings: Angst, life-threatening injury, blood, temporary Major Character Death (he comes back, don't worry), mentions of CPR, religious imagery, conflicted relationship with religion, Reader is described as an atheist but Mad At God, prayer, hurt/comfort
A/n: This is a little angst piece I came up with yesterday. For me, personally, my atheism isn't always black and white. I know I don't believe in God, but I have found myself cursing him in the past because it was easier than cursing something I did not understand (like the death of a loved one). And I just know that being with Matt, chances are he will get himself hurt badly enough one day to the point he has to be brought to the hospital.

The heart monitor beside the bed signals at a steady eighty beats per minute. You follow the many lines of tubing from the machines to his frail body, your eyes lingering on the purple bruises adorning his pale skin—deadly pale, it is.
His cheeks, once so full of life, are hollow now. His eyes are swollen, his pretty lips cut, and there is blood stuck to his hair, still, soaking through the bandage they applied. You’ve never seen him so broken, so utterly weak and fragile that you wouldn’t dare touch him. The tears refuse to stop falling.
Years ago, you made a promise. You promised never to take him to a hospital, to protect his identity and him. Hell, he survived the collapse of Midland Circle, albeit with a scattered mind. He had broken bones and a broken spirit, locked away at Clinton Church for weeks, and still, he survived.
Tonight though, for the first time, you felt his heart stop. It wasn’t one of those ghastly nightmares that have been plaguing you ever since you locked Fisk away and he finally came back to you. It wasn’t a product of your imagination; you felt his heart stop. Hands covered in blood, you watched as the life drained from his eyes and he breathed out without breathing in again.
You swear you can still feel his ribs breaking underneath your fingertips. “Don’t do this to me,” you cried. “Don’t you dare do this to me, Matthew! I can’t lose you. Please, come back. Come back!”
And you prayed to a God you don’t believe in not to take him from you. You begged for a chance to hear his heartbeat again, just one last time even if it kills you.
You looked to the sky and swore you’d make a deal with the devil if you had to. You’d do anything for this man; this reckless, stupid force of a man you are so in love with that it hurts sometimes. You would’ve let God crucify you for the whole world to see just to get a chance to look at your beloved Matthew one last time, to know he’s alive. And perhaps God did answer your prayers, or maybe the CPR you’d never done before did its trick for he suddenly took a breath, and his heart started beating again.
You cried over his body like Mary over Jesus. You shielded him as if that would heal him, and he clung to you when he realized what had happened. He coughed, and he was bleeding, and you were paralyzed with the fear of losing him again.
What else were you to do but take him to a place where he could be fixed? If you hadn’t brought him here, he would have died. You shouldn’t feel guilty. It wasn't selfish. Yet, the fire within you keeps burning, and your soul keeps hurting as you watch him like a hawk, wondering what he’ll think of you once he wakes up—if he wakes up.
“I know I’m not… religious,” you murmur, eyes directed at the ceiling now. “I’m not a good Catholic, far from it. I’ve done things… well, you know. And I don’t pray. Matt prays. I don’t,” you say. “I just wanna understand why.”
Another tear rolls down your cheek. The coil in your throat is tight enough to strangle the air from your lungs. One of the shards of your broken heart is stuck, and now you’re bleeding. Your soul is laid bare for everyone to see.
It’s pathetic, you think, for an atheist to pray. Because you don’t believe, you never have. Matt believes. He has faith. You’re just… angry? Yes, you are furious, and even more now than ever you feel like it’s all a lie. Where’s the hope? Where’s the faith now?
“Why do you keep letting bad things happen to him?” you ask, your voice breaking. “All he’s ever done is try to please you because he thinks you gave him some kind of purpose. That accident… he thinks it happened for a reason. Going blind, losing every one. After all the hardships and the trouble he got himself into, he thinks he’s some kind of soldier. Even when he was at his lowest and stopped believing, he eventually came back to you. Like a dog on a leash.”
If Matt heard you, he’d be deeply offended. Religion is so important to him, but tonight, he almost died. He almost died before, but it never felt as real as it did tonight, and the thought haunts you like a restless ghost.
“I want to be supportive, I do. I mean, everyone’s beliefs are valid, in a way, but it almost killed him tonight. If you’re up there—if you’re truly listening—how can you just let that happen to someone you claim to love, God? I don’t–” You shake your head. “I just don’t understand.”
The heart monitor keeps beeping. The lights keep flickering. His chest keeps rising. No answer. The disappointment cuts you deep. Is there perhaps a part of you that does want to believe? Or are you just looking for someone, something, to blame? Instead of the men who did this to him, instead of the men who quite literally took him apart, you’re turning to the one thing you can’t touch. But you know it’s not what Matt would want. He’d want you to have hope.
How does one go about that when everything seems to be going wrong? When your very heart is lying in a hospital bed? How does even an atheist not curse God out of pure and utter desperation?
Matt lets out a soft groan, and your eyes flick to him. Your heartbeat accelerates at the same time as his.
“Matt?” you ask, inching closer to the edge of the bed.
He stirs. Every muscle and bone in his body is filled with a dull ache. First dull, then sharp. The stitches in his abdomen pull at the tender flesh with every breath that fills his lungs, the oxygen so rich and concentrated it almost sets him alight. The plastic tubes weigh heavy on his nostrils.
His eyes pulsate, and there is this obnoxiously loud beeping in his ear. It’s screaming, almost. Beep, beep, beep. Faster and faster, and faster. But his eyelids are so heavy he can’t open them. There’s nothing but fire, and for a moment he forgets that he hasn’t been able to see for decades.
In his head, he’s eight years old again, his head wrapped with a bandage that itches his skin so terribly, and the world around him screaming. It’s the same room, it seems, cold and dark and terrifying.
Matt reaches for his eyes, fingers brushing against the bruises that resemble the shape of a fist—no light. He can taste copper on his tongue. The beeping gets louder and his ears are ringing, and why is the blanket made of sandpaper? He wants to tear the skin off his weary bones.
“I can’t–” he breaks off at the foreign sound of his voice. Another trace of his fingertips against the bruised skin. “I can’t see,” he chokes out.
“Matt!” you say a little louder, your hand finally touching his, and it’s as if the bubble he’s in bursts.
He recognizes your voice. He remembers he’s blind. He remembers going out last night and kissing you goodbye. He was in good spirits then. But something went wrong. Somehow, his opponent had weaponry that could easily break through the protective material of his suit. He stood no chance against the number of men coming at him. They sliced and they hit, and he thought he saw God, but it was just the swinging ceiling light inside the abandoned factory building. It smelled of mold and water.
He fought until he couldn’t bear it anymore. Until the opportunity to flee presented itself, and so Matt crawled home to you. With every last ounce of strength, he honored his promise to always come back home to you.
He doesn’t remember much more, only falling down the stairs to the rooftop access to the living room. The crash. Your gasp. Your heartbeat. And then, nothing. Nothing but the comfort of darkness.
“Hey,” you smile through your tears, “It’s me. You’re okay.”
He whispers your name, and you squeeze his hand.
“I’m here. Try not to move,” you tell him. “You’re at Metro General.”
The word makes his breath stutter. “The hospital?” he inquires.
“Yes. You were hurt… badly. They had to take out your spleen. Fifty-something stitches. Some brain swelling. I don’t know, it’s a lot.”
“I told you,” he grunts, “no hospitals.”
Matt Murdock is not an ungrateful man. However, his words cut deep. You can’t take much more.
“You promised, no–”
“You died!” you cry out. The echo bounces off the walls and resonates in his ears like the sound of a bomb going off.
“You died in my arms and I had to–” You look at your hands, stained with blood, “I had to break your ribs to bring you back. Your bones… breaking,” you cry. “You died and I thought I was gonna lose you, for good. You can blame me for breaking a stupid promise, but if I hadn’t, I’d be preparing a funeral now!”
His head tilts in his direction—you’re serious—and his defenses fall like an iron curtain, shattering like glass. The sound of your voice in such a state of disarray, death by a thousand cuts.
He almost died. Or, he did die, and you brought him back, but the things you had to do for that… you brought him back, but it hurt you. He hurt you. He swore he would never do so again, only over his dead body, yet it was his dead body that almost broke you.
Matt never wanted any of this to happen. The love of his life, traumatized. What kind of man does that? Surely the kind of man that no one but the one person he never deserved mourns when he’s gone.
The silence drags on, suffocating you. “Do you get that?” you ask, barely above a whisper. “Do you get that I’d die without you?”
“I’m so sorry,” Matt whispers. “I don’t remember…”
“Of course, you don’t. You’ve never been this hurt.”
“Sweetheart.”
“I would’ve traded your life for mine if I could’ve. I tried, Matt, I did. I prayed to God and told him to take me instead while I was trying to get your heart beating again. And I blamed Him for doing this to you ‘cause I didn’t know who else to blame.”
His fingers brush against the back of your hand. A nurse kindly lent you clothes from the lost-and-found, but you can still feel the sticky substance on your skin, crawling like a parasite.
You shudder. “If you hadn’t woken up, I–“
“C’mere,” he says.
Beep, beep, beep, goes the heart monitor, and sirens wail outside his window.
“I can’t,” you whisper back.
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Sweetheart, you could cut out my heart and I’d still want you.”
A shiver runs down your spine, settling in the pit of your stomach. You feel so sick, so detached from everything and everyone, but the piece of you that you almost lost is right there, and he’s alive.
He’s alive.
You have to keep reminding yourself of the fact. His heart is beating. His lungs are filled with air. Those last few hours might have felt like a proper nightmare, but you made it through. He made it through.
“Please,” he pleads. “I… I need you.”
It’s different now. He’s not asking to hold you for your comfort but his own, and without another second thought, you climb into the tiny hospital bed with him.
Matt seeks out the comfort of your chest, but he’s aimless in his agony. You gently guide his head to your heart. Touching him, feeling him so close to you, melts away the last of your fears.
“You scared me,” you confess.
He exhales. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. Just… promise you’ll live for me.”
The silence wraps a noose around your neck. But then, “You own my heart,” he says.
“So?”
“Yeah, I’ll live for you.”
Those four words mean more to you than a promise to die for you if push comes to shove. Because what are you supposed to do without him? You’d rather he try everything in his power to live for you than leave you.
“If you live for me, too,” he whispers then, and a tear runs from his cheek down your chest. You can’t survive without him, that much is certain. That may sound like a state of unhealthy codependency, but when two people share the same soul, every breath one breathes sustains the other. There’s nothing you can do about that, nor would you ever want to.
“Without you, I’d–” he cuts himself off.
Without you, he’d be lost. Without you, even in death, he would not be able to find peace.
“I promise,” you manage to say, although the words come with a fresh flood of salty tears that mix with the ocean of his.
He relaxes into you. “Thank you.”
As he falls asleep in your arms that night, you find yourself staring up at the ceiling again.
“Don’t fail him,” you whisper. To God, to the universe, to the moon and Saturn, and to yourself.

I'm craving Honkai waifus, so...Silver Wolf, Stelle and Firefly snuggling or just doing soft things with their S/O after a busy day!
(H:SR) Silver Wolf, Stelle, March 7th, and Firefly relaxing with their S/O
Tumblr media
Silver Wolf simply lays in her bed after a mission, not really in the mood to sit on the computer or anything else.
And unsurprisingly, pulls out her phone, dragging S/O with her to either use as a makeshift pillow, or lean against them.
Silver Wolf kicked off her shoes near her bed as S/O leaned against the bed, an arm wrapping around her while she scooted in closer.
Once situated, Silver Wolf exhales in relief seeing that she was in time to log in for her dailies.
(S/O) "...You sounded more concerned about getting that login streak than you were about the mission."
She scoffed, eagerly tapping the screen's prompts.
(Silver Wolf) "Getting the materials needed for this is a pain in the butt. I'll take whatever I can get for free, this game is grindy enough as it is."
S/O rolled their eyes but nevertheless smiled.
(S/O) "Things go well then?"
Silver Wolf shrugged, eyes shifting over to her S/O as her game was loading.
(Silver Wolf) "Yeah, pretty boring though. It was basically a 1-Star mission, at best."
S/O chuckled as she got more comfortable, quickly hearing the familiar tune of her game's menu.
(Silver Wolf) "Gonna do some singleplayer stuff for tonight."
S/O just nodded, understanding Silver Wolf's need to decompress and the two enjoyed a blissful silence. Apart from the...odd noises from her game.
(S/O) "...Silver Wolf is your character moaning?-"
(Silver Wolf) "Climbing a mountain."
(S/O) "And you gotta have that at full volume?"
(Silver Wolf) "Yup."
Tumblr media
Stelle yawned loudly as she flopped onto her bed after finishing the rest of her room's renovations.
It was a long and arduous journey, but now she had a proper part of the Astral Express fully to call her own!
She had finished an impromptu celebration with the rest of the crew, understandably giving her some time alone to relax.
Though, she wasn't entirely alone. A fact made known when her S/O laid on the bed, one hand ruffling her hair.
(S/O) "I still can't believe you slept on a cardboard bed the entire time..."
Stelle didn't move her face, her voice sounding muffled on the mattress.
(Stelle) "WhydoyouthinkIalwayssleptwithyou?"
(S/O) "Is there anywhere you wouldn't sleep?"
Stelle raised her head and moved to say something, but nothing came out as a second of complete silence passed.
(S/O) "...Know what, don't answer that. Just c'mere already!"
Stelle gave S/O a cheeky grin and complied, laying her head on their chest and yawning loudly.
(Stelle) "Now I don't wanna leave this room for the next few days..."
(S/O) "Honestly? With the way this room's set up, we can probably spend the weekend here. Or even longer."
(Stelle) "Hm.~"
One of her arms snaked its way around S/O's waist, her expression becoming softer, yet somehow more mischievous at the same time.
(Stelle) "Well, you're spending the night here, right? I have an idea for something fun to do before we head to bed."
She suddenly sat upright, a gleam in her eyes scaring S/O, but not nearly as much as her next words did.
(Stelle) "Take your clothes off."
(S/O) "WHAT?!-"
...
(S/O) "...Is that bath boiling? And are those peppers?! What kind of bath soak is this?!"
(Stelle) "I wanted to see you use it first."
(S/O) "Oh, so you want me to burn alive?!"
(Shush's Voice) "No worries, Significant Other of the Nameless! It'll just give you a whole new pepper-spective on baths!"
(S/O) "GAH! W-WHY IS SHUSH JUST STANDING OUTSIDE?!"
(Stelle) "Oh for the love of- GET THE [BANAB] OUT OF HERE!"
(S/O) "...How did you make that noise?"
Tumblr media
March 7th's arms stretch over her head, making a cute grunt as she fell onto her bed, exhaling in satisfaction.
(March 7th) "Man, what a day!"
(S/O) "March, we were only outside for a few hours."
(March 7th) "Yeah, but we tasted a LOT of food on the planet today! I could just go into a food coma right now..."
S/O just hummed at that, setting aside some leftover sweets on her table.
Following after her, S/O sat at March's side, one hand sliding over to hers.
Without even looking, she playfully squeezed their hand back and closed her eyes, making S/O smile.
(March 7th) "GUARD IS DOWN!-"
March 7th immediately pounced on S/O, suddenly dragging them down to the bed with her as they yelped in surprise before it quickly turned into laughter.
(S/O) "Hey, that's not fair!"
(March 7th) "Not my fault you weren't expecting it! You think I'd just let you sit down peacefully?"
Well, they couldn't exactly argue with that.
And catching them off guard again, she gave them a quick peck on the lips, both their cheeks flushing red, yet neither of them were bothered by the playful intimacy.
Quickly, the mood simmered into something a little more romantic, with the pecks turning into longer smooches, both of them still smiling the entire time as they cuddled onto the bed further.
Tumblr media
Firefly finished changing into something a little more casual, that being a simple shirt with some shorts, pulling S/O's hoodie over her head to finish it off.
S/O meanwhile was already yawning, lying on the bed and smiling upon seeing their girlfriend.
(S/O) "You look super cute in that, Firefly."
Even after being in a relationship, little comments like that was enough to fluster her, Firefly instinctually pulling the bottom of the hoodie further down.
(Firefly) "Thank you..."
With a soft giggle, Firefly hopped onto bed with S/O. Despite the mission she had gotten back from, she wasn't particularly tired, due to her genetic enhancement.
Firefly let S/O hold her, comfortably just chatting about whatever came to mind.
It was moments like these Firefly treasured the most with how uncommon it was.
...Even if the conversation did lead to some odd places.
(S/O) "Hm...I'm hungry right now."
(Firefly) "I can make us something real quick if you want?"
(S/O) "Nah, I don't want you to cook...Oh, I can order pizza!...Hm."
(Firefly) "Having second thoughts?"
(S/O) "Do...you think you guys could get pizza for free if you answered the driver in your armor? They'd be pretty scared right?"
Firefly immediately turned her head, pouting as her hand immediately but lightly "chopped" S/O's head.
(Firefly) "S/O! Absolutely not, I will not abuse my powers like that!"
(S/O) "Hah! Sorry, sorry! It was a joke! Though, I do wonder has anyone tried getting delivery?"
(Firefly) "No, but we usually do takeout."
(S/O) "Takeout? How's that work, wouldn't you guys get recognized really easily?"
(Firefly) "Hm, not really. I'm the one to grab it since most people don't know that I'm Sam, though if we need the food to be hot, I sometimes equip my armor and fly home."
(S/O) "...Firefly, you could make a killing doing food delivery if you weren't a Stellaron Hunter!"
(Firefly) "Oh geez, now you're starting to sound like Caelus..."

Blessed by a Trickster
Chapter Nineteen: I'm currently going through ChArAcTeR dEvElOpMeNt
Prev/Next
A/N: Y'all I swear we're getting somewhere!
Warnings: None...?
Word Count: 900
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You raised a hand as both men turned their heads toward you, mouths open to defend themselves.
Fury glittered in your eyes, silencing them more than the motion. Your perfect hair was getting tossed around in the wind, but never flying into your vision.
“Eurylochus,” you said, voice even icier than your eyes. “Get off of him.”
He wrinkled his nose as he removed his foot from the other man’s chest. Belerphius scrambled away and the wind picked up, seeming to follow the direction of your anger.
“What were you thinking?” You shouted over the roaring of the waves crashing against the ship.
“I wasn’t thinking!” Eurylochus yelled back, coming closer so that he wouldn’t have to raise his voice.
You glared up at him, briefly annoyed by how much taller he was compared to you. “I can take care of myself!”
“I don’t doubt that,” Eurylochus snapped. He looked away, trying to contain his anger. “It’s just that…”
“It’s just what?” You asked sharply. No response.
You sighed as all rage seemed to leave your quivering body. “It’s alright, Eurylochus,” you said. “I know what Belerphius said; Odysseus told me. It’s- we just can’t be fighting about something so… unimportant.”
Eurylochus’s gaze snapped back to you, your words causing all of his anger to resurface. “What?” He demanded. “Have you looked at yourself lately? You’re gorgeous, Y/N! And imagine how you had already looked beforehand- it was all I could do just to keep their hands off of you!”
You couldn’t seem to decide which emotion to favor; confusion, anger, and maybe a bit of sadness flitted across your face. “Eurylochus-”
He studied the floorboards, face a dark crimson. “I think we should both-”
The second in command was cut off by a crewmate yelling for Odysseus. You sprinted to the stairs, feeling Eurylochus’s gaze burning into your back the whole time.
“Odysseus!” You shouted. “Captain! They need you above deck!”
Odysseus’s door flew open, and the man came running out, leaving the door open behind him. You closed it with one foot before hurrying after Odysseus.
“Captain!”
You turned your head, gaze softening as you saw Polites rushing toward you. “Captain, there’s an island nearby!”
“Show me,” Odysseus ordered.
Polites scurried over to the helm of the ship, you and Odysseus tagging along close behind.
You gasped, the sound going unheard in the heat of the storm. It wasn’t what you would call an island- it was a rocky, gray strip of land, looking as if it had been put there purely out of spite, to lure sailors to their doom.
You jolted back, a memory filling your head. You could only watch as a vision that wasn’t yours flashed before your eyes.
“What-” You mumbled, pressing your hands to your forehead.
“Y/N?” You heard Polites ask, but it sounded as if he were far away. Hadn’t he been right next to you? Why was the world suddenly spinning?
A sweet melody filled your ears.
“Kiss me on the mouth and love me like a sailor…”
You blinked, eyes glazed over as you started toward the helm of the ship.
Looking out, you saw that you were docked on the strange island, only this time, it was covered with green grass and rich with trees and animals.
Your attention snapped back to the beautiful woman in the water before you. “And when you get a taste can you tell me what’s my flavour?...”
Your eyes flew open, the floorboards hard beneath your back. A collection of blurry faces stood peering down at you, concern etched upon their faces. You recognized Odysseus, Eurylochus, and Polites.
“What?” You mumbled, scrambling to prop yourself onto your elbows.
“What?”  Polites echoed, looking even more confused than you.
Odysseus crouched down by your side. “You just… fainted.” He studied you as if you were some foreign language he couldn’t understand. “Y/N, has this happened before?”
Eurylochus offered you a hand, and you gratefully accepted. Your fingers seemed so much more delicate when you placed them on his.
“No,” you said, shaking your head. You dusted off your trousers, not glancing away from Odysseus for a single moment. “Captain, I think you’ll be needing an explanation, though.”
He raised an eyebrow, motioning for you to continue.
“There are sirens in this part of the sea.” You finally broke eye contact to stare at the murky water with unease.
“Sirens?” Odysseus questioned sharply. “Are you sure? How do you know?”
“I- er… I kinda had a vision?”
“What?” Polites and Eurylochus demanded at the same time, even taking a step forward in unison. You shuffled back nervously, rubbing the back of your neck.
“I think I was some sailor who got murdered by the sirens a while back,” you explained. “It was… weird, to say the least. I saw myself getting lured into the water by a beautiful woman’s singing.” You looked at Odysseus, eyes tired. “So now we have evil, monstrous, yet gorgeous women with gorgeous voices to deal with. Plus, they want to eat us.” You ran a hand down your face as a sigh escaped your lips. “Why am I actually not surprised?”
Polites gave you a pitying look, while Odysseus put a fist into the palm of his opposite hand.
“Alright,” he whispered, gaze flickering over the three of you. “Here’s the plan.”

Azel Radwan: Both Endings Epilogue
Romantic Ending Letter | Dramatic Ending Epilogue
Thank you @passthechloroform for providing the video for this chapter!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Love" is a curse.
It's the worst curse, one that should never be inflicted.
*flashback*
Emma: It's wrong to call something that hurts Prince Azel "love."
Emma: That's just violence disguised as love.
*flashback over*
(Those words Emma said one day hit the nail on the head about the true nature of love.)
(For me, love might be violence.)
*flashback*
Mother: Living God, please grant us a divine message. Show us the reality that has been promised to us.
Azel: I... don't know—
The Apostle: Everyone here is eagerly awaiting the Living God's divination.
The Apostle: God who loves his people, please have mercy on us.
Azel: ...I...
Mother: Come now, Living God.
The Apostle: Show us our path.
Azel: ...I understand.
-
Enis: Azel, we came to play!
Azel: Kamal-oniichan, Enis-oniichan...!
Enis: Whoa, what's with suddenly clinging to us like that? You're unusually affectionate today.
Azel: Am I... really a god?
Kamal: Ah, I guess the apostle said something to you again? That— geezer. Someday— I'll— I'll—
Enis: Hey, don't use such foul language in front of the child.
Enis: ...Azel, can you tell us what happened?
Azel: Everyone expects all sorts of things from me.
Azel: I want to meet those expectations, but there's so much I don't know.
Azel: Even though I don't know, I have to give them answers.
Azel: I can only give them vague answers, so I'm afraid that someday I'll give a false divine message...
Azel: A real god wouldn't have this problem.
Kamal: Sigh... You're more of an angel than a god, Azel, an angel.
Azel: Whoa, oniichan!
Enis: Kamal, it's dangerous to suddenly pick him up like that.
Kamal: You're being a nag, are you his babysitter or something?
Kamal: Azel, the people around you call you a god, but to Enis and me, you're just our cute little brother.
Kamal: To our troubled little brother, your big brother will give you this as a present.
Azel: Um... "Read This and You Too Can Become a Splendid Swindler ~Beginner Edition~"?
Enis: What kind of book did you give him?!
Kamal: Our angel is too kind, that's why he worries like this.
Kamal: Listen, most of the people who worship you as a god are greedy and only think about themselves.
Kamal: Become a swindler so they can't take advantage of you.
Azel: A swindler?
Kamal: A swindler is a bad person who deceives others and acts only for their own benefit.
Kamal: You're a kind god who only thinks about others, but a swindler doesn't care whether their divinations are right or wrong.
Kamal: Become like that. Enis and I want to protect you... Don't become a god who gets eaten by people.
Azel: Doing bad things... is wrong, but...
Azel: But I understand what you're trying to say, oniichan.
Azel: I'll read this book and study hard.
Kamal: Ah, you're a good boy.
Azel: Thank you, oniichan. I love you.
Kamal: Guh...
Enis: Hey, don't die?! Fainting from a nosebleed is a joke, right?!
-
Soldier: —There he is! It's the Living God! Secure him immediately!
Azel: I'm sorry! I was the one who said I wanted to play outside with my brothers!
Azel: I really didn't want to do any divinations today... I was tired...
Azel: So—...
Soldier: We've apprehended Prince Enis and Prince Kamal as well! Take them straight to prison!
Soldier: Those guilty of taking the god away will face appropriate judgment!
-
Enis: Aagh—!
Kamal: —Ugh...
Azel: Apostle... Please stop...
Azel: Please. I'll do whatever you say.
Azel: It's because I was a bad boy, because I didn't behave...
Azel: I'll never run away again, so please stop.
Azel: Please, please, please, please...
The Apostle: Living God... I'm sorry. It's not that I want to torment you.
The Apostle: This is also love.
The Apostle: To ensure that your noble self makes no mistakes, we must punish you severely like this.
The Apostle: All of this is for your sake. Please understand.
*flashback over*
At that time, I understood all too well.
The meaning of a god loving people, the meaning of people loving a god.
Both being loved and loving are nothing but painful acts.
I can't find any other words to describe this than a curse.
(The discomfort of being loved is still tolerable.)
(But I want to be spared from the curse that arises from my own love.)
Loving is the easiest way to make someone else unhappy.
(That's why... Emma, I don't love you.)
(I don't love you.)
-
Emma: —...Prince Azel?
I open my eyes, and a familiar scene comes into view.
The afterimage of the past vanishes, and the eyes of everyone seated at the table converge on me.
Azel: ...Is everyone here?
Kamal: Emma is here too today, huh?
Basil: May I address her as Lady Emma from now on? After all, she is the only one who has been loved by Prince Azel—
Basil: Ouch!
I throw a nearby game piece at his forehead, putting a stop to the unpleasant conversation for now.
Basil: Ah... even a scolding from Prince Azel is an honor...
Kamal: Sinan, please examine this child's head.
Sinan: Normal.
Kumush: That means there's no saving him, hahaha!
Temel: A little madness in young people helps them get ahead in life.
Kamal: Is that so?
Enis: I'm surprised though. This is my first time here, but...
Enis: I never thought most of Tanzanite's prominent figures were accomplices to a god.
(Thirteen people including Enis... no, fourteen if you include Emma.)
Present here, in addition to the royal family, are the head of the tourism association, the wealthy merchant who manages the market, the doctor with the best medical skills in the country, the owner of the famous restaurant that supports Tanzanite's economy, the competent spy who has deceived countless people, the world-renowned genius scholar, the strongest warrior...
I also gathered other promising individuals who will shape the future and gave them proof of my hope for the coming dawn.
(The god-killing plan I started alone has come this far, huh?)
(...It's been a long time.)
It all started that day when Kamal, who had been subjected to whipping, was exiled, and the light vanished from Enis's eyes—
Unable to bear the ugliness of the love the apostle spoke of, I vowed to destroy faith.
But sane words don't reach fanatics who think they can do anything for the god they love.
To escape the curse of love, there was no choice but to choose death, to kill even the idol god.
Kumush: King Enis, we weren't in important positions from the beginning.
Kumush: It was Prince Azel who guided us to them.
Temel: The development of the tourism association and the market also has Prince Azel's advice behind it.
Temel: I have nothing but respect for his foresight.
Azel: Don't mention it. I merely provided the opportunity for you to shine...
Azel: I just discovered your inherent talents and "bought" them.
Kamal: Azel, you don't realize how amazing that is.
Enis: You're still better suited to be king than I am. How about it, after being a god, why not try wearing a crown?
Azel: No, thank you. I want to enjoy my retirement.
Azel: I'll meet with you periodically and give you advice for a fee, but I won't do anything more than that.
My rejection is met with laughter in the hall.
Since when did I start to see emotions other than revenge in that scene?
*flashback*
Azel: From the next dawn, you will build the future with your own hands.
Azel: I look forward to seeing what kind of future the "human nation," free from the hands of God, will build.
*flashback over*
(Those were my true feelings.)
(...Even though I'm a god who doesn't love people.)
Izzet: Prince Azel... May I speak?
Azel: What is it, Izzet?
Izzet: Um... Shall I bring you a chair?
Kamal: Ah, hey!
Enis: Izzet... even though everyone was pretending not to notice...
(...)
(...Well, I guess it had to be said.)
There are thirteen chairs in this room—but there are fifteen people here, including myself.
Enis has taken a new seat, and his attendant, Izzet, stands beside him. The other newcomer, Emma, is sitting on my lap.
Emma: ...Prince Azel... As I thought...
Azel: Don't worry about it. I'm just doing this because I don't want to bother with bringing a chair.
Kumush: If that's the case, I'll stand!
Basil: No, I'll stand!
Temel: I'll—
Azel: That's quite alright. You are all important figures in this country, so please sit in the chairs.
(Smirking, smirking... It's not like I enjoy having her on my lap either.)
(It was just efficient. That's all.)
Emma: It would be easier if I just stood...
Azel: Ah, yes. The reason I gathered everyone here today is because there's something I wanted to tell you all.
I firmly embrace Emma's waist as she actually tries to stand, forcibly pulling her back onto my lap.
(...It's not like I want her sitting here, but there's no need to run away, is there?)
Azel: She will be involved in the establishment of the Tanzanite Book Merchants Association in the future, taking over from Akatsuki.
Azel: Emma is also a talented merchant, so I thought I'd try my hand at nurturing her.
Azel: I think there will be more opportunities for all of you to interact with her, so please make sure to remember her face.
Azel: Ah, but try not to stare. She's shy.
Emma: ...It's just that this situation is unbearable...
Emma's voice, as she covers her face with both hands, is so faint it's almost inaudible.
(How cute—)
(...No, that's wrong. Stop it. I feel like I'm becoming an idiot too.)
Kamal: ...Enis, you have many wives, don't you?
Kamal: Why don't you teach Azel how to conduct a romantic relationship?
Kamal: He was a god, you know, so he doesn't know how to treat girls.
Enis: Well... I suppose it's fine. He'll learn eventually after making some mistakes.
(How rude. What do they mean by "mistakes"?)
That's what I think inwardly, but everyone's gaze is lukewarm.
(...)
(...So this is what it means to be an ordinary person, huh?)
-
After seeing off the gathered people, the usual time descends upon the solitary desert castle.
After dinner, when it's time to sleep, I always hold Emma in my arms on the bed.
This, too, is a force majeure that started because I was tired of putting Emma back in the middle of the bed whenever she tried to sneak off to the edge. It's certainly not because I want to hold her or feel her warmth.
(Could this also be a "mistake"?)
(...It's not like I'm bothered by what they said earlier, but...)
Azel: What was the right thing to do?
Emma: Huh...?
Azel: ...Enis said it, didn't he? That it was a mistake.
Azel: What was the right thing to do in that situation?
Emma: Well... generally, you wouldn't have someone sit on your lap in public.
Azel: I told you many times, it was for efficiency.
Emma: ...Was it really just for efficiency?
Azel: There's no other reason.
Emma: Then say it while looking at me.
She cups my cheeks in her hands, forcing our eyes to meet.
I was about to complain, but the smile that bloomed before my eyes made me speechless.
Emma: Thank you.
Azel: ...What are you thanking me for?
Emma: For always loving me in a way that's easy to understand.
Azel: ...But I don't love you?
Even as I that, before I know it, I'm kissing her.
I know intellectually that this act is meant to convey love, but I can't stop myself.
Always, always—every time our eyes meet, I want to kiss her.
Even I find it baffling.
Emma: Nn... That's the least convincing "I don't love you" I've ever heard.
Azel: ...Shut up.
I seal her lips out of spite, stealing away her ability to laugh.
(No matter what you say, I don't want to admit it.)
(Even if the love I know is different from the "real love" you speak of—...)
When I look into her face, she wraps her arms around the back of my neck, looking unsatisfied.
As I entwine our tongues and caress her slender back, a muffled, frustrated voice escapes her lips.
(I don't love you...)
I press my finger against her nipple through her negligee and rub my knee between her damp thighs.
Even though I know intellectually that this is also something lovers do, my body won't stop.
(...No, this is just human physiological desire. It can't be helped, it's force majeure.)
Emma: Prince Azel...
(It's definitely not because Emma seemed to want it or anything like that...)
(It's because it's my creed to live greedily, so I have no choice...)
Emma: ...Nn... I was thinking during the meeting today...
Emma: Prince Azel... even though you say you don't love me, you're surely... more affectionate than anyone else.
Azel: Huh?
I involuntarily stop my hand and peer into her sweet face.
Azel: What did I do for you to interpret it that way?
Emma: When you were talking to everyone... you had a gentle expression.
Emma: I was secretly watching from your lap, thinking, "This must be Prince Azel's true nature"...
(...This isn't funny.)
(A god who doesn't love people is affectionate...)
Emma: Ah... Hyaa...!
I lift up her negligee and thrust my fingers in, all at once.
I delve deep inside, so that her mouth can't utter any more nonsense.
Azel: You're mistaken.
Emma: Ah, nn... That's... unfair!
Azel: I don't care.
(I just like to see people carve out their own path with their own strength.)
(I just like the moments when people laugh together and create a lively atmosphere...)
(...To call this affectionate...)
(...)
(...Will she say it?)
(No, she won't. Please don't say it.)
Emma: Loving someone isn't scary.
As if she could see right through my heart, Emma embraces me.
Emma: When I can prove that to you...
Emma: Please be more honest and love many things.
Unconsciously, my breath begins to tremble.
I kiss her hair, praying she doesn't notice my trembling.
Emma: Ah, but... I want to be Prince Azel's number one.
Emma: I want to be loved more than anyone else...
Emma also presses her lips against mine, her face bashful before my eyes.
It was a carefree bashfulness that seemed to defy the logic that love is a curse.
Azel: ...
Emma: ...
Azel: .................
Emma: ...Um...
Emma: ...Say something, please. This is awkward.
Azel: It's your own fault, isn't it?
(Love is a curse. That's why I will never love anyone.)
(...But, if by any chance, what you say is true, and real love doesn't make anyone unhappy...)
(I might not refuse to admit that I love you...)
Emma: Prince Azel—...
Azel: ...If you're going to say things like "number one," could you please stop doing that for starters?
Emma: Stop what?
Azel: Calling me "Prince"
Azel: I'm an ordinary person now, so isn't "Prince" strange?
Emma: Why so suddenly...?
Azel: There's no deep meaning.
(The first people I loved were my brothers.)
(Those brothers don't call me "Prince")
(If you're so insistent that love isn't a curse, you should start by changing how you address me.)
(Because it makes me feel clearly loved.)
Emma: Then, how about Azel-san?
(...If possible, I'd prefer just my name...)
(No, no one else calls me that, so maybe it's better this way.)
Azel: Well, that's fine.
Azel: Emma.
Emma: W-what is it?
As usual, I pin Emma down and kiss her, never tiring of it.
Precisely because I understand that this emotion, which I can't control despite knowing logically what it is, is "real love"—
I won't admit it yet.
Azel: I don't love you, so don't misunderstand.
Emma: Hehe... You're quite stubborn. Just the way I like it.
(I won't admit it... but the hateful curse you've placed on me is too strong.)
(...What are you going to do about it, damn it?)

It started as a joke. Or maybe it didn't. For Toji, the lines between what was serious and what wasn't were becoming increasingly less defined these days, including this thing he had with Shiu.
What was it, exactly? He wasn't sure. He was never too concerned with labels, anyway. He lived for fun and he lived for pleasure. He lived for the moment. Tomorrow be damned.
It's probably why he had no money. No family. No substance. He was fleeting. Impulsive. Quick to make light of whatever he didn't fully understand. This was just another one of those things.
So when he saw the sheer material, cobwebby lace in lustrous black, his first reaction was to laugh. To mock the image of himself splayed out in front of a flustered Shiu. His masculine form and rigid muscles in humerous contrast to the delicate lingerie. His second measure was to buy it. Unsure, himself, as to what compelled him, but whatever the reason, the end result was still the same.
So, what started as a joke, or maybe something more sincere, came to a head later that day as he lay there clad in his latest impulse. Sheeny nylons stretched enticingly over his calves and thighs. Heavy balls, shaved playboy smooth, held askew where the fine mesh pressed them to the side. Uncut cock straining against the see-through fabric.
On his chest he wore a silky bra, trimmed in delicate lace. Spaghetti straps doing little to hold the slippery material in place. One dainty string slinking seductively off his chiseled shoulder.
What a laugh it will be, when Shiu returns, to find him there manspread in such a ridiculous getup. The look on his face will be reason enough to justify his nonsensical purchase.
But as Shiu walked through the door, weary eyes adjusting to the sight before him, it wasn't a laugh that escaped his tightening chest, but a groan, the likes of which Toji had never heard, spill from the ever-collected former detective.
"See something you like?" Toji asked, still half-teasing, not yet understanding the devastation he'd wrought.
A tangible stillness hung in the air between them. A tension so thick you could slice it with a knife. Shiu stood in the doorway, slack-jawed and swaying slightly. Toji raised a cautious brow, perplexed by the other man's strange behavior.
Then, all at once, Shiu's briefcase and suit jacket fell to the floor with a careless thud as he stumbled toward Toji on trembling legs. Leather shoes and dark green tie trailing behind him as he stepped from them on his way across the room, kicking the door shut behind him as he went.
Where he'd usually struggle to lift the bigger man, he made light work of scooping Toji in his arms, thick legs wrapped around Shiu's waist as he carried Toji to the bedroom, laying him fervidly on cotton sheets.
"Woah, Shiu, I-"
"Shh," Shiu hushed him, stripping away his collared shirt and peeling off his slacks.
Shiu stood naked. Feral. Chest heaving with each searing breath. He was heat and sex incarnate. His every nerve crackled with electric desire.
Only now did Toji begin to realize the consequences of his actions. He'd awakened something in Shiu. Unearthed some carnal instinct lying dormant all this time. Both men watched with baited breath as a pearlescent bead of salty precum pushed its way through the nylon tights, balanced, trembling, atop Toji's swollen tip. Suddenly, the tear spilled over, tracing the length of Toji's cock. A silent call to action for the fiercely pent-up Shiu.
RRRRRIIIIIIPPPPPPPP
It was all Toji could do just to breathe as Shiu pounded into him at a relentless pace. He'd torn away the airy fabric like a rabid dog, biting away just enough to free his cock and the gap between his trembling thighs.
Toji's legs were on Shiu's shoulders, framing his face as pretty as a picture- cheeks tinged red with burning heat, sweat glistening like jewels on his fevered brow. They locked eyes, Toji giving off a sheepish grin, almost shy under the gaze of Shiu's primal awakening. Shiu curled his lip in a bestial snarl, giving off a sound somewhere between a sensual purr and a deadly growl.
The walls reverberated with their indecent symphony. An inescapably pornographic overture of panting breaths, pounding flesh, and the continued tattering of those irreverent tights. Shiu leaned forward, striking deeper as he did, swallowing Toji's insatiable moans, leaving bruises on his swollen lips. Toji folded like origami. Ankles to ears in a full-blown mating press. Shiu's hungry eyes boring holes in his own as they rocked in constant rythm.
At long last, Shiu pulled away, arching his back as the length of his cock bullied up against Toji's prostate. With a feral gleam in his narrowed eyes, he bit along Toji's calves, tearing the nylons between his teeth. He gnawed on his ankles and nipped at his toes, groaning shamelessly each time the fabric gave way.
Toji's stomach was covered in precum. His heavy cock bouncing with aching desire. And each time he was met with Shiu's heavy-lidded gaze, his lovestruck body clenched with wanton need to be filled. Shiu leaned forward once more, trapping Toji's throbbing cock beneath his weight, allowing the man's muscular legs to wrap around his narrow waist.
"What a clueless fucking brat you are," Shiu whispered, running his lips along the shell of Toji's ear. Toji clenched again, balls tightening with the movement. Shiu hissed at the feeling. Sucking his teeth and stilling his hips so as not to cum too soon. "Thought this would be funny, did ya? Thought this would be cute?" The palm of Shiu's hand met the curve of Toji's ass with a stinging clap. Toji gasped fully as another sharp thrust brought Shiu's hips flush with the back of Toji's thighs. Shiu leaned forward until he was nose to nose with the breathless man beneath him. Tenderly, he brushed Toji's bangs away from his sweaty brow where they clung. Shiu's face softened. "I know how you think," he said gently, before drawing his lips into another breathless sneer. "And you've got it all wrong," he snarled, landing a sharp flick to Toji's forehead on the last word.
"You ain't...just...some...joke..." Shiu pounded into him, driving the message home between Toji's gasping breaths. Hot tears crested his lashes and streaked from his eyes, disappearing as they met his sweat-soaked hairline. With a hand on the matress, and the other firmly gripping Toji's quivering jaw, Shiu leaned in once more, dutifully licking away the salty rivulets. The sensual gesture sent Toji reeling, swollen cock throbbing with a painful need unload.
Shiu's peak was coming hard and fast, heat creeping up his neck and flushing his handsome features. But he wasn't ready. Not yet. With a forceful grip, he angled Toji's face so that their eyes were forced to meet. Blown out pupils searching each other with feverish intensity.
"This is serious...to me," Shiu breathed, voice barely above a whisper. "It always has been." As his lips met Toji's the two men let out a soul-shattering groan, harmonized as they came as one. Sticky heat filled the space where their navels met, while even more came spilling from Toji's entrance where Shiu was just pulling away. Latent twitches from Shiu sent spurts of creamy white over Toji's now sensitive skin.
Shiu collapsed next to his worn-out lover, pulling him in and holding him close to the steady thrum of his pounding heart, and at last Toji understood. This was never so unserious. This was the real thing.
This was love.

A Masked Promise
Ch.21

Dick Grayson(Nightwing) x Reader
“Gray,” you breathed, his name slipping from your lips like a prayer as his mouth left yours for the briefest of moments. His hands tightened around your waist, pulling you even closer, and you could feel the heat of his body pressing into yours. God, this man. You arched into him, melting under the weight of his touch, his kiss, his everything.
“Yeah?” he murmured, his voice low and throaty, barely audible over the sound of your heart pounding in your ears. His lips brushed against the corner of your mouth, teasing, before trailing down to your jawline, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. “What do you need?”
You didn’t answer—couldn’t answer. Not when his teeth grazed the sensitive skin of your neck, sending a jolt of electricity straight to your core. Instead, you tangled your fingers in his hair, tugging gently, and he groaned against your skin, the sound vibrating through you.
All it had taken was one moment—one whispered confession, one vulnerable admission—and now here you were, pressed together on the couch, losing yourselves in each other. It had started so innocently, too. Just a quiet evening, the two of you curled up together after breakfast, talking about nothing and everything. But then the conversation had shifted, and suddenly, the air between you had become charged with something you couldn’t ignore.
---
It had been your idea, hadn’t it? The thought had tumbled out before you could stop it, but part of you was glad it had. You’d been thinking about it for weeks, turning the idea over in your mind, weighing the risks and the rewards. And now, finally, you’d said it out loud.
“I think… I might be ready to move forward in our relationship, just a little more, you know?”
The words had hung in the air between you, fragile and tentative, and for a moment, you’d worried you’d said too much. But then Dick had looked at you, really looked at you, and all your doubts had melted away. His hand, warm and steady, had slid up your thigh, and his eyes had softened with understanding—and something else, something that made your stomach flutter.
“Exploring a little,” you’d clarified, your voice trembling with nervous excitement. “Testing out what we like, what feels good.”
And just like that, the tension between you had shifted, becoming something thicker, hotter, impossible to ignore. He’d leaned in, his breath warm against your ear, and whispered, “Sounds pretty damn enticing.”
From there, things had escalated quickly. A brush of lips, a tender touch, and before you knew it, you were gasping into his mouth, your bodies pressed together as if trying to close any distance that still remained between you.
---
Now, his hands roamed over your body, mapping every curve, every dip, as if committing you to memory. One moment, they were cradling your face, his thumbs brushing against your cheeks; the next, they were sliding down your sides, gripping your hips with a possessiveness that made your breath catch.
“Gray,” you gasped again, your voice shaky, needy. You weren’t sure what you were asking for, but it didn’t matter—he seemed to understand anyway.
In one swift motion, he stood, lifting you effortlessly into his arms. You let out a surprised squeak, instinctively wrapping your legs around his waist as he carried you toward the bedroom. Your heart raced, not just from the sudden movement but from the way he held you, like you were something precious, something irreplaceable.
He set you down gently on the edge of the bed, his hands lingering on your shoulders as he stepped back, giving you space. For a moment, he just looked at you, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath. His eyes were dark, hungry, but there was something else there, too—something tender, almost reverent.
“Still okay?” he asked, his voice rough.
You nodded, unable to form words, and reached for him, pulling him back to you. He came willingly, his lips crashing against yours in a kiss that was equal parts passion and promise. His hands found the hem of your shirt, his fingers skimming the bare skin of your stomach, and you shivered at the contact.
“Tell me if you want to stop,” he murmured against your lips, his voice breaking slightly. “Anytime. Okay?”
“Okay,” you whispered, though stopping was the last thing on your mind. Not when his touch sent sparks dancing across your skin, not when his kisses left you breathless and wanting.
His hands moved higher, sliding beneath your shirt, and you arched into his touch as his fingertips brushed against the lace of your bra. His movements were slow, deliberate, as if he was savoring every second, every inch of you. When his thumbs swept over your nipples, already taut with anticipation, you gasped, your head falling back.
“Look at you,” he murmured, his voice thick with awe. “You’re so…” He trailed off, letting his actions speak for him as he lowered his mouth to your neck, his teeth scraping lightly against your skin. At the same time, his hands slipped beneath the cups of your bra, and the feeling of his skin against yours was almost too much to bear.
Your hands gripped his shoulders, holding on for dear life as he explored you, learning what made you tremble, what made you moan. Every touch, every kiss, felt like a revelation, like the pieces of a puzzle finally clicking into place. And through it all, he watched you, his eyes never leaving your face, reading every flicker of pleasure, every gasp of surprise.
“Gray,” you whimpered, your voice breaking as his thumb circled your nipple, sending waves of heat curling through your body. “I…”
But whatever you were about to say was lost as his mouth claimed yours again, silencing you with a kiss that was as deep as it was desperate. His hands moved lower, sliding down your sides to grip your hips, and you could feel the tension in his muscles, the restraint he was struggling to maintain.
“Tell me what you need,” he whispered, his voice ragged. “Tell me.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but the words caught in your throat as his lips trailed down your collarbone, his tongue flicking against your pulse point.
And then—
“Please.”
The single word slipped out before you could stop it, soft and pleading, and Gray froze, his breath hitching. Slowly, he pulled back, his eyes locking onto yours. There was a question there, unspoken but clear, and you answered it by reaching for him, pulling him closer until there was no space left between you.
This, you thought as his hands fumbled with the clasp of your bra. This is what I need.
The air between you crackled with anticipation as Gray’s fingers finally undid the clasp of your bra, the fabric sliding away to expose your skin to the cool night air. His hands hesitated for just a moment, hovering over your bare chest, before he let out a low, appreciative sigh. “You’re so beautiful,” he murmured, his voice thick with desire.
His touch was electric as his hands cupped your breasts, thumbs brushing over your already taut nipples. You arched into him instinctively, a soft gasp escaping your lips as he leaned down to capture one peak in his mouth. The warmth of his tongue sent shivers spiraling through you, and you tangled your fingers in his hair, urging him closer.
“Gray,” you whispered, your voice trembling. His name felt like a prayer on your lips, a plea for more.
He responded by gently pinching the other nipple between his fingers, rolling it slowly as he continued to tease the first with his tongue. The dual sensations made your breath hitch, your body melting into the mattress beneath him. His free hand slid down your side, tracing the curve of your waist before settling on your hip, pulling you even tighter against him.
When he finally pulled back, his eyes met yours, dark and hungry. “Tell me what you want,” he said softly, his voice rough but tender. “I need to hear you say it.”
You swallowed hard, your heart pounding as you reached for his hand, guiding it lower until his palm rested just above the waistband of your panties. “Touch me,” you breathed, your voice barely audible. “Please.”
His gaze never left yours as he nodded, his fingers slipping beneath the delicate fabric. You tensed slightly at the first brush of his fingertips against your sensitive flesh, but then—oh, then—he found your clit, and every nerve in your body lit up like a firework.
“Like this?” he asked, his voice low and husky as he began to circle the bundle of nerves with agonizing slowness.
Your hips jerked involuntarily, chasing the pressure, and you bit your lip to stifle another moan. “Yes,” you managed to gasp. Just like that.”
He chuckled softly, the sound rich and warm, and increased the speed of his fingers, the rhythmic motion sending waves of pleasure crashing through you. Your head fell back against the pillows, your eyes fluttering shut as you tried to focus on the sensation, on the way his touch seemed to consume you entirely.
But then he slowed again, his fingers barely grazing you, and you whimpered in frustration. “Don’t stop,” you begged, your voice breaking. “Please, don’t stop.”
“Look at me,” he commanded, his tone firm but gentle. When you opened your eyes, his face was inches from yours, his expression intense yet loving. “I want to see you. I want to know I’m doing this right.”
You nodded frantically, unable to form words as he resumed his ministrations, his touch firmer now, more deliberate. His thumb pressed down on your clit while his index finger dipped lower, teasing your entrance. The combination was maddening, and you could feel the tension building inside you, coiled tight and ready to snap.
“Close?” he asked, his breath hot against your ear.
You nodded again, your nails digging into his shoulders as you clung to him. “So close,” you managed to choke out. “Don’t stop.”
He didn’t. His fingers moved faster, harder, and you could feel the pressure cresting, the pleasure becoming almost too much to bear. And then—oh God—you were falling, tumbling over the edge as your body seized, wave after wave of ecstasy washing over you.
You cried out his name, your back arching off the bed as the intensity of your climax consumed you. Dick held you through it, his arms strong and steady, his voice a soothing murmur in your ear as you trembled in his embrace.
When it finally subsided, you collapsed against the pillows, your chest heaving as you tried to catch your breath. Dick’s hand still rested between your thighs, his fingers lightly stroking your oversensitive flesh, and you shuddered at the touch, your body still humming with aftershocks.
He smiled down at you, his expression soft and satisfied. “Good?” he asked, his voice tinged with amusement.
You let out a weak laugh, your cheeks flushing as you nodded. “More than good,” you admitted, your voice hoarse. “That was… incredible.”
He leaned in, pressing a kiss to your forehead before pulling back to look at you again. “You’re incredible,” he corrected, his tone sincere. “I just wanted to make sure you felt that way.”
You reached up to cup his face, your thumb brushing against his cheek. “You did,” you assured him, your voice steady despite the lingering tremors in your limbs. “Thank you.”
Dick’s smile widened, and he shifted slightly, his body still pressed against yours.
But then, the shyness crept back again. The lingering feeling of being so close to someone, of having shared something so intimate, made you feel like you were floating, but also very much aware of how exposed you felt. You couldn’t stop the little laugh that escaped your lips, a nervous giggle you tried to hold back. “I… uh, I hope I didn’t mess up,” you whispered, your voice almost a whisper, unsure of how he’d take it.
Dick chuckled softly, the sound low and reassuring. “Trust me, you didn’t mess up anything.” He pulled you closer, the warmth of his chest against yours calming your nerves as his lips brushed your forehead again. “You were perfect.”
You closed your eyes, letting the words wash over you, but the slight blush that still lingered on your cheeks wouldn’t disappear. You were starting to realize just how much you’d let him in, and the vulnerability was still new, still a little scary. Yet, it felt safe, secure in a way you’d never known before.
After a few quiet moments of holding you close, Gray shifted slightly, brushing a strand of hair away from your face. His gaze softened, a tender mix of love and concern filling his eyes. “You okay?” he asked gently, his thumb brushing over your cheek.
You nodded, though your body still felt a little shaky from the intensity of it all. “Yeah, just… a little overwhelmed,” you admitted softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
His expression grew even softer, if that were possible, and he pressed a kiss to your temple. “I’ve got you,” he murmured, the words a soothing balm to the nervous energy still fluttering in your chest. He shifted, untangling himself from you, but his touch never left. “Stay here. Let me get you some water, okay?”
Before you could protest, he was already off the bed, moving with purpose toward the kitchen. You watched him go, the sight of him in nothing but his boxers and that familiar sense of care he exuded bringing a small, affectionate smile to your lips. When he returned, he had a glass of water in one hand and a clean, soft towel in the other.
“Drink this,” he instructed, handing you the glass as he sat beside you again. His tone was gentle but firm, his concern evident as he watched you take a few sips. Once he was satisfied, he set the empty glass on the nightstand and scooted closer.
“Lean back for me,” he said softly, holding up the towel. You blinked at him in confusion, and he chuckled quietly, his free hand brushing over your arm. “Just want to make sure you’re comfortable. I know it got a little intense.”
A blush crept up your neck, but you leaned back against the pillows, letting him gently wipe away the light sheen of sweat from your skin. His movements were slow and deliberate, his touch featherlight, as though you were made of porcelain. “You didn’t have to…” you started, your voice trailing off as he gave you a soft smile.
“I wanted to,” he replied simply, his voice steady as his hands continued their careful work. “You’re my priority. Always.”
The weight of his words settled over you, warming your chest as you gazed at him. When he finished, he set the towel aside and pulled the blanket up over both of you, tucking it around you snugly.
“Better?” he asked, his voice low, as he slid back into bed beside you, gathering you into his arms. His hands trailed soothing patterns over your back, grounding you in the quiet intimacy of the moment.
You nodded, your head resting against his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat calming you further. “Better,” you whispered, your voice full of gratitude and something deeper—something you couldn’t quite put into words.
He kissed the top of your head, his lips lingering there as he whispered, “Good. Because you deserve to feel taken care of.”———————————————————————————-

❥・• Yukimiya Kenyu
— Many students knew that you were inseparable. Kenyu, being the star player in the soccer team of your school, and you, being the head of the student council. He had many fangirls, as much as many fanboys you had as well.
You supported him 24/7 when it comes to their game, you were his number one cheerleader. Everytime you shout his name, his ego becomes unstoppable, resulting him scoring as much he could.
But then as graduation came, you were alone in the bleachers, the day was about to end. The breeze was so soothing, that you took a deep breath, waiting for the love of your love to come over. Since he was the one who wanted to meet you in that certain spot.
The empty soccer field gave you nostalgia, you knew you couldn't see him play in this field again. Instead, you'll see him play in a bigger field. You knew he's going to another city to chase his dream.
"Yuki!! You yelled "Baby! Congrats to us! We finally made it to the end of high school!" You hugged him.
"Y-yeah.." He stuttered worryingly "Is there something wrong?" You asked "I called you here to tell you something.."
You gulped because you were nervous, the vibe seem to drop "I'm breaking up with you.. I need to focus on my career for now.." He coldly stated "W-what?" You stuttered "Is it really necessary? Sure we'll be far apart but we can still contact each other! I don't care how many days you will reply, as long as you update me.. I understand you're focusing on your career but.. Am I the reason who's pulling you down?" He couldn't answer, so he went silent. You started crying "Yuki please.. There must be some other way—"
"I made my decision. I'm sorry. I truly love you but, it's for the best.." He caressed your cheek one more time before he walked away.
You were stunned, couldn't move at all. Everything happened so suddenly. Your knees went weak, and you cried so hard, that your voice echoed all around the empty field and bleachers.
— 15 years later —
You're now a CEO of your favourite organization, Blue Lock. It's been your dream to be the head of your favourite sport, well.. Used to be..
But you still grasped that dream because ever since, your passion was to lead. Even though you couldn't do the certain things, but you were insanely amazing in leading them. You graduated from Business school with latin honours, in which led to where you are now.
It's been 15 years since you two lost contact. The last conversation you had with Yukimiya was during graduation, which was tragic.
But you did see him on television, and he indeed. Became one of the best strikers worldwide, representing Japan. You despised him a lot, but deep inside, you were still that little highschool girl who was proud of him wherever he was now.
You still loved him..
Sure, you dated some dudes in college, but he was that guy where you would give up everything for him. Well, it's sort of true where first love is indeed irreplaceable.
Your secretary Anri, gave some news for you "I GOT NEWS! Ego brought some amazing soccer players! You should check their profiles out!" There she handed a USB filled with all the players' profile.
"Thanks Anri, I'll check these out! Would you mind bringing me more coffee?" She agreed and politely left your office.
You sat down and plugged in the USB on your computer. There were around 300 players in Blue Lock "Hmm they sure are talented players here, wow.."
You scrolled and saw the Top 11 best players in Blue Lock, and froze as you saw who was number 5.
"Y-yuki.." You gently pressed your mouse to open his profile, he definitely became more attractive. You analyzed all his personal info, it seems his eyesight was getting worse.. You suddenly feel worried, because you knew his eyesight was already bad during highschool, but it didn't stop him from playing soccer. You saw his favourites, likes and dislikes. You simply chuckled "I guess he never changed at all.." Then you stumble across the "my type" section.
Type : [ Someone who laughs a lot and will always watch over me, support me, and love me for who I am. Someone who's really good at leading me. ]
A tear dropped from your eye "H-he.." Suddenly Anri barged in with the coffee you asked her to fetch for you "Here's your coffe— Hey? Are you crying? Is everything alright?" You immediately wiped your eye and smiled as if nothing happened "N-no! I'm all good!" Anri had suspicions but she just brushed it off.
"Hey, we'll be meeting the top 11 later on, we'll train them before the U-20 tournament will commence" You simply nodded. "Of course, I'll be there." Anri happily left your office, you simply sighed.
"After 15 years I'm finally meeting you again..."
— Timeskip —
"Welcome Diamonds in the rough.. You made it this far.." Ego stated. "Today we'll be preparing for the U-20 tournament.." You noticed there were small amounts of players in the lobby, you simply whispered to Anri "I thought there were around 300 people- only top 11?" Anri whispered back "These are the surviving players. The rest, eliminated." You quietly gasped.
You tried looking for him in the crowd until the door opened. There, Itoshi Rin, Shidou Ryusei, Bachira Meguru, Isagi Yoichi, and..
"Yuki.." You felt relieved "Wait.. No.. Why am I like this- he's your ex!" You talked to yourself "Ex? Who?" Anri gasped "ONE OF THE PLAYERS HERE IS YOUR EX?!?" You covered her mouth "It was way back highschool okay? That was only puppy love-" You defended.
"Oh sure~ wait until I found out who is your ex!" Anri teased "As if-"
"Hey! You two! What the heck are you guys blabbering about?!" Ego angrily called you two out which brought attention to everyone in the lobby.
"Shit." All were eyes on you two "SORRY GUYS! You may continue Ego! Hehe sorry-" Anri pulled you out of the lobby.
But before you got out of the lobby one special person laid eyes on you "Eien..?" He called out, but you couldn't hear him.
( Eien means Eternal means 日本語 ) It was his endearment to you before.
"HE SAW ME-" You panicked. You felt nostalgia because the same feeling where you had a crush on him during your freshman years in highschool "This feeling brings back so many memories-" You mumbled "You still love him don't you?" Anri teased "What if I still am..?"
"BUT I HATE HIM!" You suddenly yelled "He dumped me because he wanted to focus on his soccer career!" Suddenly you had flashbacks and started crying. "Hey.. Look, I don't know the full story, but it seems you really loved this person.."
"I still do Anri, I still do.." She didn't know what to do so instead, she hugged and comforted you until you stopped crying.
Little did you know, some of the boys, and Yukimiya overheard you and Anri. "Dang, she looks so hurt-" Bachira grieved "If I was her friend I would've choked the dude to death "Hiori innocently spoke "Woah- isn't that a bit too far—?" Yukimiya defended "No-? He could've just taken the Long-distance relationship so what?" Hiori added which the other boys agreed.
Yukimiya felt guilt all over him as he saw how hurt you were..
"Had I made the wrong decision?"
— Timeskip —
You went out to get some fresh air. Your eyes were still swollen from crying so much earlier, you decided to head to the open soccer field nearby, and laid on the middle of the field. You let out a huge sigh "Gosh, why are these feelings coming back.. It's been 15 years. Move on dammit!" You fought with yourself.
There was a moment of silence until you got startled as you heard a familiar voice.
"That makes the two of us now, I'm glad"
You sat up as you couldn't believe it "Yukimiya.." "What happened to 'yuki'?" He asked "Do I still need to call you that? We're not together anymore right?" You suddenly went back to your senses, you were furious "Eien, I'm sorry..." "Stop calling me that, we're done." You coldly stated "And what are you doing here?! You're not allowed to get out" You added "Well I escaped, and followed you here.." You went silent.
"Hey, I saw you crying earlier, my chest was aching see you cry, knowing it was because of me... I deserve to be choked by Hiori indeed..." He looked down "You better be! I really hate you so much!" You angrily spoke. "I had a tough time Kenyu.. You left me there, I couldn't get to explain myself properly that time.. You left me without saying a proper goodbye.." You cried "It hurts.. IT HURTS! 15 YEARS! I should've gone to therapy at this point.."
"Hey, don't say that.. I totally understand your pain, I was a jerk that time.. I was only thinking of myself during that moment... I was immature, I'm sorry..." He apologised "Look, I know you can't forgive me, but believe me, ever since I broke up with you, I never dated ever again. If you saw my type in my profile, I was describing you.." He suddenly cried.
"I know. I saw. Why are you crying? Don't prey yourself. I totally understood you prioritizing your career that time, it's my decision to continue loving you until this day." You coldly stated "Can we start over?" He asked "I promise, I won't leave you like that again.. And this time I'll prioritize my career, and you.. Eien.." He cupped your cheeks "I know it's been 15 years, it was so long ago, but.. Can we?" He desperately added.
"Give me time.." You replied "I'll ask you out again, starting from the beginning.. This time, I've changed, I grew." He suddenly kissed you passionately, the breeze swiftly touched your skin, melted from his kiss "Fine, but if you'll leave me again, there's no more chances, I'll definitely move on, even if it takes another 15 years to move on." You both laughed.
On the corner bush, there was Anri and Ego spying on the both of you "Bingo! So Yukimiya Kenyu, Top 5 striker in Blue Lock was her ex.." "What the heck are you talking about-?" Ego curiously asked "Oh, nothing, I just witnessed broken pieces glued back together."

❥・• Itoshi Sae
— You and Sae were both an athlete couple in highschool. Him as a soccer player, while you as a gymnast.
You two were the star in your campus, everyone dreamed to have a relationship like you two, both talented and never declining face cards. As you both graduated highschool, the two of you were given an opportunity to your dream university, you in France, while Sae in Spain. Sure, both of you were headed to Europe, but you'll still be miles away from each other.
But despite that, you two handled the long distance relationship. Updating 24/7, late night talks every night, and daily messaging every morning.
But one night, you tried calling Sae. Usually he would answer in a millisecond, but he didn't tonight. You tried again but this time, he purposely did not answer the call.
Your brows furrowed "What on earth is his problem?" You sound pissed. A few minutes later, he messaged you, but your eyes widen from his sudden message for you.
Love ♡ : [ Hey.. Sorry for not answering your calls, I was trying to type this message for you. I'm really sorry for what I'm about to say to you, I hope you would understand me. I'm sorry but I'm breaking up with you. I can't have too much distractions. I need to focus on my career first, maybe in our next life, we can be together, without any distractions. I'm really sorry again. Good luck on your journey as an gymnast in Paris. I'm sorry. ]
— Love ♡ cleared your nickname —
— Itoshi Sae cleared his own nickname —
— Itoshi Sae blocked you —
You were too stunned to even let out a word. You read his message, again and again, trying to cope with his message he just sent you. All you did was to cry..
"Sae.. Why.." You cried all night, forgetting to train yourself for tomorrow. You cared less about it and went to bed and sobbed until daylight..
Weeks passed since your break up with Sae. You can't seem to keep up with training because your mind was too empty at the moment.
"Mon chéri, what's wrong?" Your instructor approached you "Why the long face?" She added "Oh nothing Madame! Just thinking about something these days" You covered it with a smile "Are you sure? You must focus! Your recital is coming up and special guests will be there, you can't disappoint them are you?" She replied.
"No madame, I won't." You finally got back to your senses and went back on track.
"I don't care about stupid Itoshi Sae anymore, if he's focusing on his career, why shouldn't I?"
— 8 years later —
Roses, tulips and confetti rain over you as you bowed after your grand performance, applauses were echoing the whole auditorium.
As the curtains closed, you let out a huge sigh "What a night!" You went back stage and got greeted by the staff "Mon chéri! You did amazing! I'm so proud of you for making this far! From performing, to competing soon enough! Your tournament is next week, are you ready?" Your instructor proudly asked "Yes! Of course madame! I should bring my fiancé too, if that's alright with you?" You asked.
"Of course! A little support couldn't hurt right?" She chuckled. You smiled in relief, I'll be telling him madame! Thank you so much!" "As you should! That man certainly inspired you does he?" You happily nodded.
— Timeskip —
"Finally! It's over, we won again!! We won against France's star soccer team!" Charles proudly cheered "Indeed, I could use a warm dip in the bathtub tonight with the view of the eiffel tower" Shidou added "I'm going to watch the gymnast competition tonight!" Ness also added "Competition? Tonight? Interesting, I'll come with!!" Charles replied "Hmm, I suppose I should watch too, I love flexible women" Shidou cheekily laughed.
"What about you Sae, aren't you tagging along?" Kaiser asked "No thanks, I should train instead." Sae coldly stated "AWW C'MON BRO!! Just this one time! We deserve this, right everyone?" Ness pleaded. "And besides, the star gymnast is competing too! She'll surely win! I saw her tricks and wow she's spectacular!" Ness added "We should go!" Charles said as everyone followed.
Kaiser's phone rang "Oh, gotta answer this, you should come along Sae, my fiancé is competing too. You should see her, she's too perfect" Kaiser said with admiration with his eyes. "I see, sure, I'll try to come along" Sae answered "Good, gotta go.. Hello? liebe? Yes?" Kaiser closed the door as he left.
Ness was preparing to go but Sae stopped him "Hey, may I know who's the star gymnast who is competing tonight?" "Oh!! Wait here!" Ness showed a video of you performing. Sae paused for a moment. "She's... She's m—"
"Magnificent right!?" Ness interrupted, now let's go! He said as he pulled Sae out of the locker room.
"She was once mine..."
— Timeskip —
You took a deep breath as the whole gymnasium was yours to perform on "You can do it Mon chéri, I know you can!" Your instructor cheered "Thank you madame!" You finally had the confidence to come out the gymnasium and showed yourself, you were glimmering, as your shiny fitting dress has reflected the spotlight.
"Here goes nothing" You motivated yourself.
"THAT'S HER!!! WOOO!!" Ness screamed "Wow, isn't she a beauty~" Shidou flirtly spoke "Damn- she's really flexible, does she even have bones?" Charles jokingly said "What the fuck?" Sae suddenly spoke which startled Shidou and Charles "Chill bro- what are you on" Shidou defended "Yeah- you sounded like you're her boyfriend" Ness and Charles added.
"BECAUSE I WAS." They went silent "Be for real right now-" Charles spoke "No way-" Ness added "Psh- you're joking" Shidou rolled his eyes.
"I'll prove it. Watch me." Sae sat back and continuously watching you.
"Did he went cuckoo?" Shidou asked which Ness and Charles only shrugged.
Sae admired you so much, he reminisced the time when you two were just in highschool.
— Flashback —
"Love! Haha! Look!" You called out to Sae "Okay, wait.. Okay now!" He yelled.
You showed your triple flips then a smooth landing with a split. "How'd I do?" "WOO!! THAT'S MY GIRL! You did so well love! I can't wait to see you performing like that during nationals!" You pounced at him causing you two to fall on the ground.
Laughter echoed the field, you two were so happy, you were on top of Sae, faces inches away from each other. "Let's chase our dreams okay?" You said "Of course my love let's chase them together." He replied then passionately kissed you, you kissed back. It was one of the most romantic moments you two ever made.
— Present time —
He saw you successfully landed on the last move you did and bowed. You looked around the gymnasium, everyone cheered for you, he smiled. He knew he was proud of you. You saw Shidou, Ness, and Charles cheering, so you did the same.
The three turned to you and thought you were weird, but brushed it off after.
You were the last contender. It was time to announce the winners. It was intense, but you remained calm and confident.
On the other hand, Sae was worried and nervous for you, he prayed you would get the gold medal, if you did, then you will be representing France for the internationals.
Everyone cheered as your name was announced as the first place, you were speechless, you had mixed emotions.
You got up on the podium feeling overwhelmed. Everyone chanted your name, you looked around, but your eyes landed on a familiar person.
No it can't be..
You saw Sae happily jumping with his teammates yelling "She did it!!" You didn't know what to feel. But joy overshadowed all your feelings at the moment.
"Wait- Where's Kaiser?" Ness asked.
— Timeskip —
As you were wiping your sweat with a face towel, Sae approached you, which startled you.
"Hey... Congrats.. I-I'm so proud of you.." He stuttered, feeling awkward from the conversation.
"Sae?" You paused "What are you doing here?" Your brows furrowed again, you hated seeing him at this time "We had a game here in France, and my teammates wanted to watch your competition, I didn't want come along, not until Ness showed me one of your performance, you did really good.."
"Don't do this to me Sae, showing up out of the blue after you cut ties with me 8 years ago.. What are you on?" You spoke as you felt pissed.
"Hey, look.. I'm sorry okay? I wasn't thinking straight that time, I was too stressed.. I couldn't tell you what happened to me that time." He defended.
"No need, I moved on. But I'm really thankful to see you tonight, even though it was unexpected." You chuckled "I'm too immature to long a grudge on you right?" You added, he awkwardly laughed "Yeah.." He cleared his throat, "Hey, uhm- how were you? Should we have dinner sometime?"
You simply chuckled "I would but, I couldn't. My fiancé might burn you to pieces, and I wouldn't want that" "Fiancé—?" Sae asked.
"Liebe, ready to go— Sae? What are you doing here? I thought you wouldn't come?" Kaiser entered as he was playing with his car keys. "Kaiser? Wait.."
"Oh? You two know each other?" You asked "Yes schatz, Sae is my teammate. I haven't mentioned, sorry liebe" Kaiser answered "How 'bout you Sae? How did you know my fiancé? Quite unexpected honestly" Kaiser asked.
"Oh.. Uhm- we go to the same highschool before.. Yeah.." Sae coldly replied.
You went silent, knowing that your ex and your soon-to-be husband is on the same soccer team. You decided to take a deep breath and cleared your throat "So~ uhm.. I guess we should get going Micha? Can you grab my bag? Thanks" "Oh sure liebe, I go get it" Kaiser left you and Sae.
"So..."
"So..."
You both went silent. "Well, at least we finally reached our dream right? Me, being the star gymnast, and you as a star midfielder, and overall your team itself is famous, right?" You awkwardly laugh.
"I'm... Too late am i?" Sae looked at you desperately "Sae.. I-"
"I'm so sorry I left you.. I'm glad Kaiser is treating you better now.. I wanted to be him again, but.. I guess I was too late" He forced a smile.
"I'm sorry Sae.."
"Let's go schatz? See you Sae, call me if we're training tomorrow hmm?" Kaiser said as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder.
You turned back seeing Sae looking so lost. You mouthed 'thank you, and I'm sorry..'
Sae just watch you disappear from the room, letting out a smile but tears were rolling down his cheeks.
"I love you.. But you're not mine anymore.."

❥・• Oliver Aiku
— You two were an amazing duo, but sometimes you two couldn't get along as well. Some say you were in a toxic relationship, but you didn't listen because you were so inlove with him.
But there was one time where Aiku invited you to go to a KTV bar with him. You simply agreed cause you thought it would be another date.
You wore a beautiful blue satin dress, excitedly you messaged him you were on the way "I can't wait to see him again!"
— Timeskip —
You arrived at the KTV bar and asked the counter which room was Number 308, she happily led you to that room. "Here's the room miss!" "Thank you so much!"
As you were about to enter the room, you peeked on the small window of the door. There you saw disco lights and the room was dim, but you clearly saw Aiku— with another girl..
Your head was boiling as you barged in the room "OLIVER AIKU! WHAT IN THE FUCKERY IS THIS?" You yelled.
"Woah- my love chill, this is Denise. Denise, this is my girlfriend" It seems Aiku was drunk. "Girlfriend? I thought I was your girlfriend?" The girl looked confused.
"YOU'VE BEEN CHEATING ON ME?!?! I DID NOT EXPECT TO BE IN A POLY RELATIONSHIP!" You cried. "We're over Aiku." Before you could walk out, he grabbed your wrist "Wait baby! Don't go! I can explain—" A huge slap landed on Aiku's face "Don't TOUCH me!" You flicked your arm and left the KTV room..
As you left the room, you cried. You couldn't believe what had happened just now..
"They were right, I was in a toxic relationship... I was too blind to see it.." You ran out of the venue and went home.
— 6 years later —
You just got home from work, exhausted. You were working full-time in the office, but your exhaustion disappeared as your 6-year old son ran to you. "Mama!!"
"Aww my baby Ollie, how are you? Did the maid gave you dinner?" You hugged him.
"She did mama! But I don't want to eat without you, I want to eat McDonald's with you! Please please!" You chuckled "Well, I am hungry too so~ let's go?" "Yay!!" He cutely cheered.
— Some time later —
You two were walking home from an alley, bringing take-out McDonald's when you see two men approaching you, they weren't friendly.
"Ollie get behind me." You sternly said as your son went back "Mama... I'm scared.." They were about to steal from you but someone pounced them from behind. "Look out!"
He fought the two men with ease, but at the same time he got injured. "Oh my goodness are you oka— OLIVER?!?!"
"I'm fine— MY LOVE?" You smacked him with your heavy shoulder bag which passed him out. "Oh shit- why did I do that-"
"Mama..? Why did you hit Mr. Hero? He saved us but you hurt him.." Ollie tugged your jacket. "I'm sorry baby, mama seemed to have reflexes-"
You decided to bring Aiku to your home, you carried him, and dang he was heavy. Your son kept laughing all the way home.
— Timeskip —
Aiku finally woke up in a place where he's unfamiliar with "Shit- where am I-?" Ollie was peaking in the door from the outside, checking up on Aiku "Hey little guy, don't be scared, do you know where I am?" Aiku asked gently.
"You're in our house Mr. Hero, mama placed you in the guest room, you were badly hit by mama, I'm sorry mama hit you.." Ollie answered.
Aiku simply chucked "It's okay, little one, your mama must be scared that's why, by the way what's your name?"
"Ollie" He said as he gave you a piece of chicken nugget. "Eat." Aiku gladly accepted the kid's nugget. He noticed Ollie's eyes were just like his, "Hey little one, look, your eyes look like mine, see?" Ollie gasped, you're right! I have heter— het— hetetormia!" Aiku laughed "Heterochemia little one, it's okay, nice try!" The both of them laughed. "Where's your papa?"
"I don't know, mama said, my real papa is nowhere to be found, but, I have a new papa!" Ollie happily said. Aiku went silent, "Really? What happened to your real papa?"
"I don't know, mama does not tell me.." Aiku went silent again.
"Mama!! Mr. Hero is awake!" Ollie happily went to you "Yes, I can see that baby.. Go to auntie maid first if that's okay, I need to talk to "Mr. Hero" here hmm?" You stated "Okay!" Ollie ran downstairs.
"T-thank you—"
"What were you doing in that alleyway?" You inserted "I was gonna ask you that? What were you doing in that alleyway with a child?!? That place is dangerous!"
"It was the shortest way home alright?! I'm too tired but my son wanted McDonald's with me, how could I say no?"
"But you should've at least rode a taxi back-?" "Why are you so concerned Aiku?"
"Answer me. Is that my child?"
You went silent. "Tell me please.."
"And what if he's yours? We're way over now Aiku, thank you for saving us, you may now leave the house now." Aiku grabbed your wrist "Pfft, this is nostalgic isn't it?" You flicked your arm "Nostalgia my ass, now leave."
"Please, if he's my son, can I make it up to him at least? Since when did you get pregnan—"
"THE MOMENT YOU LEFT ME." You both went silent. "H-how?"
"After I broke up with you, as soon as I got home, I felt sick." He went silent
"And when I had a gut feeling, I took the test. And it was positive.. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I SUFFERED RAISING A CHILD ALONE.. I never thought of abortion, never ever! Even if the father of the child was a jerk!"
"I-I'm sorr—"
"But I'm happily engaged to someone else now, who's a father figure to Ollie. We're totally happy, he bought a house for us to settle in, got me into a perfect job, a tiring one but still thankful. And a loving man." You cried. Aiku couldn't let out a word.
"My life had been a roller coaster ride, but Ollie was a blessing to me. And I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world."
"Can I at least... Be responsible for the child? For making it up?"
"I'm home!" A man called out from downstairs "That's him." You said as you went out of the room, and soon Aiku followed.
"Papa!!!" Ollie ran towards Barou and he carried Ollie. "How's my sweet boy doing?"
"Me and mama almost got snatched but luckily Mr. Hero saved us!" Ollie happily reported.
"Mr. Hero?" Barou asked as he landed his eyes on you and Aiku "Honey.." Barou knew between you and Aiku
"Love, I know.. Oliver, thank you, for everything. But I think you should leave.." You sternly said. "But I don't want Mr. Hero to go!!" Ollie cried. "It's okay little one, I have to go.. Call me Uncle Oliver, okay?" He said as he pats your son's head.
"Okay Uncle Oliver! When can we see each other again?" Ollie innocently asked.
"Soon, little one. Soon.." Aiku said as he bid you and Barou farewell and left.
As Aiku got out from the house, he looked back and saw your shadows from the window looking so lively, like a small but perfect family.
"I'm glad your doing well, my love.."

❥・• Nagi Seishiro
— You two are quite known as gamer couples during highschool, it may seem cliché, but for you, it's heaven. Imagine, playing your favourite games with the love of your life.
Nagi seems to be the lazy type but he is really good with hygiene and cleanliness. And he's really good in taking care of you. You didn't know why people call him 'lazy',  when he's with you, he's the opposite of lazy, I mean he does act like a sloth, but he was never lazy in your eyes. He always come over to your apartment to play games with you, sometimes study date.
You also got used to his way of messaging you, he takes so long to reply. Sometimes he ghosts you, but when he's with you personally, he's really "boyfriend material".
Though recently, he soon joined soccer with Reo, his best friend. He was effortlessly good at it, I mean- he's the boyfriend who can do it all. You were proud of it, and you weren't sad at all, because he always found a way to make time with you by playing games.
But one time, you noticed he wasn't online. Even the online games, RPG, all offline.
"Huh- that's weird" You tried calling him through number and social medias but no answers. You gaslighted yourself maybe he was busy. But those "busy days" you thought Nagi had went for over 2 months now.
You felt betrayed, he ghosted you for 2 months now. Which was weird, because even Reo, you couldn't contact him.
You had enough, you went to the sports office in your school, and ask where Nagi had gone. Their coach said that they had an invitation from a certain soccer school. But usually Nagi would update you if ever where he was. You overthought, maybe the place they went took their devices, which is funny- because it would look like they were prisoned.
— 2 years later —
It's been 2 years since Nagi ghosted you, you're finally a freshman in college. You graduated without him, you felt sad but you had to continue. You never held a grudge over Nagi, because you still love him.
"Wherever you are right now Shiro.. Always remember I am here supporting you from afar.." You spoke to yourself as you felt the breeze brushed your skin.
You're a college student currently taking Computer Science. It's been you and Nagi's dream to develop a game, but you two couldn't figure out what game would you develop. So you decided to study about computer logic for now..
— Timeskip —
You overheard your blockmates about this "Blue Lock", everyone was so hype about it. You were curious so you asked one of them "Uhm— excuse me.. What's this Blue Lock you guys are talking about-?"
"Oh! It's a team of soccer players who are playing against U-20, you know Sendou? Omg he's so hot!" They squealed "Soccer?" You repeated "You heard that right!" The other one replied.
Hmm.. Blue Lock.. Interesting..
— Timeskip —
As you got home, you opened your laptop and checked this Blue Lock thing everyone was so hyped about.
It showed soccer players, who were indeed going to play againt the other team called U-20.
You scrolled through the player's profile, and..
You gasped. "NAGI!?!"
You pressed his profile to see if it was really him. "It really is him... He's going to be playing against the U-20, and he's part of the Top 11 in blue lock? Wow, Shiro... I never knew you went this far.."
Then you saw the other players who will be back-up players for the game, then you saw Reo.. "Mikage— REO?!?!" You gasped once again "How many chapters did I miss?!?!" You noticed Nagi's features matured "He changed a lot.."
You researched on where to buy a ticket for the game and...
"Bingo!"
— Timeskip —
It was time of the game, and soon enough you arrived just in time, and as you were finding a place to sit, you saw someone selling jerseys. Then you saw a Jersey with Nagi's name on it.
You comfortably sat on a seat with Nagi's jersey. "This is cozy-" You surprisingly complimented.
There it was, the players came from from the inner gymnasium and you finally saw your white haired cutie "LET'S GO SHIRO!!!"
The person sitting next to you "Who are you supporting to?" "My boyfriend" You proudly said, they gave you a judging look but you didn't care. You were admiring Nagi from afar.
The game soon started and majority of the people where only cheering for U-20. "Why aren't they supporting Blue Lock?" You asked yourself.
The game was neck-to-neck, but then suddenly Nagi got the ball, and did an insane trick.
"Nice to meet you Japan. I'm Nagi Seishiro!" He kicked the ball and scored a goal for Blue Lock.
Everyone went silent, everyone was too stunned to speak even his teammates.
"Uhh— did I mess up introducing myself?"
Everyone cheered, the crowd goes wild. Blue Lock got up from their bench and cheered on, even U-20 was impressed by the skill Nagi has executed.
You went silent for a moment, as if everything blurred around you.
"That's your boyfriend right?" The person next to you interacted again. You couldn't respond because you were too focused on Nagi.
"Shiro... You've evolved..."
— Timeskip —
It was 3-3, it was tie and only 5 minutes. You were shivering, worried because the game was on the edge of the tightrope.
"Please please..." You manifested.
Suddenly one of Nagi's teammate berserked from the opposing teams blind spot, then he scored.
3-4
Blue Lock won..
Everyone cheered, the crowd went insane. You cried, you did not expect these two whole years, your boyfriend ghosted you because he was intensely training in Blue Lock.
"I'm so proud of you.. Shiro.."
— The next day —
Overnight, you finally decided what game you would develop, a soccer simulation. Where everyone can be a soccer player.
You fell asleep on your desk with the screen with full-brightness. Someone was knocking on your doorstep.
You were too tired to wake up so you didn't care about the knocking on the door, but you soon heard a key unlocking your door.
You wanted to check it out but your body was too heavy to sit up, you only had an hour sleep, because you were up all night developing the game.
You soon felt a kiss on the cheek, and was carried in bridal style. "Hmm.." You groaned "I'm home baby.." You heard a familiar soothing voice. "Hmm.." Is all you could answer.
As you woke up, you noticed you were already in bed, you swore you were sleeping on your computer desk. You saw a glass of milk and cookies on your side bed and Choki beside the food. "Choki?"
You soon turned to your computer desk, a fluffy white hair peeking out on your computer chair, doing some typing and clicking.
You tried to approach slowly, but he turned the chair immediately and pounced on you.
"SHIRO?!!" Both of you made a thug sound as you fell to the floor "Hi baby." Nagi was now on top of you. "I'm home." He calmly said as he laid on you. "GAH!! You're heavy, get off!" You cried.
He assisted you to sit up and suddenly kissed you "I missed you.." He pouted. "You literally ghosted me for 2 years you lazy ass." You rolled your eyes "I thought you never thought of me as lazy..."
"I'm mad at you. Hmph— HEY!" He carried you and led both of you to bed "I saw the game you developed, you knew huh?" He brushed your cheeks "Yeah, I watched your game yesterday, you did amazing out there"
"How did you know? I couldn't update you... Our phones were confiscated" You laughed "I KNEW IT!" You laughed again "I knew Blue Lock because the university I'm in were talking about it, you're literally the topic of the students" You chuckled.
"Oh how I missed your laugh..." He said as he snuggles himself in your body. "Even though you ghosted me for 2 years straight, I still waited for you.." You suddenly felt emotional. "I'm sorry for making you wait baby, how 'bout we snuggle the whole day straight?" He suggested. "But.. The game?"
"The game can wait, for now, I want you.. It's been so long since I scented you... I missed you so so much.." Nagi buried his face onto your chest, you simply chuckled.
"You physically changed, but you're still the Nagi Seishiro I know.." "I grew taller didn't I?" You both laughed "Yes you did Shiro.. Yes you did.."
You both fell asleep in that position, you indeed will be sleeping the whole day, after a chaotic week you just had.
End.

What's mine is yours; only ours
Pairing: Scaramouche/Wanderer x Reader (as Traveller)
Warnings: None!
Summary: You give the Wanderer, formerly Scaramouche a name. It's yours!
Notes: Aw man i have such big feelings about my name, it really meant a lot to me to give Wanderer his name. I gave him mine and it just... I know he's just a guy in a game but idk. it really touched me i guess. i wrote this when the main quest for this just came out but i only now found it again, polished it and gave it an acceptable ending. also i have like. no idea how to insert y/n without it being like. sorta bad so forgive me 😔
Tumblr media
"You want to share your name with me? Huh. Not a bad choice."
You smile at him. His heart picked up speed. How was it, Scaramouche? wondered, that you could make him feel such odd things so suddenly?
"Are you sure about your choice?"
"Yes, I think this will fit."
This name, your name, will fit him?
There had been many unpleasant encounters between you and him, and now that he had his memories again, he could truly grasp the severity of those encounters and the current situation. The entire time you've known who he was, what he was. And even though he was your enemy, someone you must have hated, the person who tried to kill you, you still found it in yourself to help him.
When you saw him that time at the bazaar, you could have easily walked away, just pretending it never happened; after all, you were the only one who knew about it. Even with the fable Nahida had stored away, she wouldn't have been able to uncover who he was. He didn't even remember himself.
You could have left him in idiotic unawareness, you could have left him to simply live his life in an agonizing lie. Yet you chose to. present the truth to him and Nahida.
You had certainly earned his utmost respect.
And even now you were still willing to go to lengths for him that would have not been necessary. Offering a part of yourself up to him? After all he had done? Amazing. Not only that, now you were telling him it was a name befitting of him; a name you yourself had carved into the shape it is today, and to now bestow it onto him... He felt quite honored. Perhaps you also wanted him to be like you, to grow into a better person of himself. Or maybe it was an incentive to push himself harder, so he could make something of himself. The future was his to choose, and he'd make sure he made the right choice this time.
He wasn't very good at expressing himself yet, so he hoped all of these emotions shone through his words in a way you could understand.
Your eyes twinkled in understanding. Perhaps you had known his thoughts all along. Maybe one day, the Wanderer would also come to understand your thoughts on this decision.
For now though, only one thing was left to do for him.
"I accept it."
And with this, yours and [Y/N]'s path separated; though you're sure you'd be seeing each other again very soon.

The Siblings of Fate: Earthspark
Tumblr media
Earthspark story version of the Siblings of Fate.
(Author's note: This got longer than planned, so I made separate headcanons. Just to let you know, I've only seen the first season of Earthspark. Also, I decided reader will take Carina's role, but you can use whatever name you want.)
Warnings: mentions of Mandroid's drones, fainting, hiding from GHOST, keeping secrets, con attacking, mild violence, forest fire, mentions of being former slaves, getting hunted, some angst, and fluff.
-----------------------------------------------------
- It would all start with Alex buying a few bottles of perfume for Dorothy from Bria's Perfumes, a well-known perfume shop in Witwicky.
- The Terrans would know very little about perfumes but love the scent when Dorothy shows them how perfumes work and lets them take a niff.
- Then the Maltos and the Autobots would get strange readings about Mandroid’s spider drones and decide to investigate it.
- Twitch, in all her carelessness, decided to chase after one of the spider drones when she saw one, separating herself from the others. She eventually followed the drone to a farm, where it suddenly collapsed when it came in contact with strange flower bushes planted at the edge of the farm.
- Curious, Twitch came closer to one of these flowers, unknowingly getting puffed by the pollen which then caused her to feel incredibly faint. She transformed into her robot form and fell face-first to the ground, flickering between consciousness. Between light and darkness, a tall figure approached her and then sprayed her with something.
- Her consciousness returned instantly and she was able to see the tall figure more clearly, who turned out to be a transformer. Bria, who had used some kind of spray to dispel the effects of the pollen, asked if she was all right and Twitch felt very confused by the situation.
- Bria then explained what had happened and that the flower bushes around the farm were a special type of flower that produced pollen potent enough to mess with circuitry and shut down machinery. She had planted them to keep out the strange spider drones that started showing up on her family’s farm.
- The two would introduce themselves, and Twitch would be very excited to meet a new transformer, especially one who was neither Autobot nor Decepticon.
- Twitch would ask several questions and Bria would only giggle at the Terran’s enthusiasm, not minding answering the questions. Twitch would then recognize Bria for her perfumes and overflow with compliments for her work. Bria kindly took the compliments and felt glad that Dorothy liked the perfumes.
- You and your siblings have actually been aware of the Autobots and Decepticons even before they became public. You decided among yourselves to keep yourself hidden for your safety and the safety of your human family.
- Bria would then introduce your human family, the Ashwoods, to Twitch. Unfortunately, you were currently at work with your human partner Rory, and Lyra was waiting for your human little brother and friend, Tristan and Dovelyn to finish school. Aunt Julianne was attending the shops. So, the only ones at home would be Grandpa and Grandma Ash, who would not be surprised by Twitch.
- The two would be very welcoming toward Twitch and the little Terran would get excited to know that their neighbor was also a human transformer family, expressing how she could not wait for her family to meet yours.
- This would cause Bria to ask her to keep silent about you. You had lived in secrecy for some time and feared you would end up getting targeted by the GHOST, especially since they have become more aggressive toward your kind. You did not want to find out what they would do to neutrals.
- Twitch would understand and promise to try to talk about your family discreetly. Bria would then give her a fresh sample of perfumes and flowers as a gesture of friendship to bring back to her family before bidding her farewell.
- Twitch would then return to her very worried family since she disappeared for some time. They would then be curious when she brought back Bria’s gifts and shared about their neighbors, managing to be as discreet as possible, even though her active little brain wanted to spill out the secret.
- When you and Lyra finally came back home, Bria would share about her meeting with the little Terrain. Lyra would be curious to meet this little transformer, but you would be worried since you knew about the Maltos through your park ranger job with Rory. You worked with Rory as a helicopter and jeep while using your holoform. You knew Dorothy when she first started at your job and found her pleasant, but later found out she worked with the Autobots and GHOST.
- You suggested caution as it was already challenging to avoid getting detected by GHOST and your sisters agreed.
- Twitch would be able to be discreet about your family. However, Bria did not tell her she could not bring her siblings to meet her and your family. Bria was startled when Twitch brought Robby, Mo, Bumblebee, and the rest of the Terrans to meet her but could not be angry about the reasoning.
- Bumblebee would especially be surprised to meet her as she was neutral. However, after hearing Twitch tell how they met and how nice Bria and her family are, he deemed she was not a danger. The two would click and he would get a bit shy around her when she commented on his heroic deeds in the war.
- This time, Lyra would come home early with Tristan and Dovelyn, meeting the Maltos and Bumblebee. Her sudden transformation would be a surprise, but when she saw them and gushed about how adorable they were, they would ease up to her easily. They would then later find out that she was a famed cover singer.
- Tristan and Dovelyn were older than Robbie and Mo, but the two easily became friends with them and the Terrans.
- Bumblebee would ask a lot of questions. Grandpa Ash would then share how he and his wife found you and your sisters hiding in their barn one day. You might have been aliens, but you were so scared that their hearts were turned and they took you in. Ever since that day, you and your sisters have been fundamental members of their family. All three of you participated in taking care of Tristan when his parents decided he would come live with you and his grandparents.
- To Tristan, you three were his older sisters.
- The Maltos would be touched by the bonds of your family, and ask about you since they had yet to meet you. Lyra and Bria would tell them that you worked with Rory as a park ranger and that you knew Dorothy. They assured them you would look out for her if something happened during her park ranger job.
- The visit would be filled with different conversations, but the Maltos would soon notice odd similarities Lyra had with Optimus. Even though Lyra looked significantly different from Optimus, she shared some mannerisms and looks with him. It raised some questions, especially when Lyra said that she knew who Optimus was, but wasn’t related to him.
- It was a kind of a disappointment to the Maltos as Lyra looked like she could be his secret sparkling.
- When the visit came to an end, Bumblebee and the Maltos promised to keep you a secret from the Autobots and GHOST since they were in a similar situation.
- However, Lyra’s similarity with Optimus would keep bugging them, long enough to even ask Optimus if he had relatives he didn’t know about. This would both confuse and arouse suspicion in the Autobot leader, especially when the youngsters would not tell him the reason for the sudden question.
- The Maltos would occasionally visit your family farm, especially since Robbie and Mo were now friends with Tristan and Dovelyn.
- You were often at work, and Lyra would be doing her own thing outside the farm, so Bria would be the one to meet them whenever they visited.
- Bumblebee especially liked making small talk with her and the Maltos would tease him for having a little crush on Bria.
- They finally met you when things got out of hand at your park ranger job. It also caused you and your sisters to be discovered by Optimus and the other Autobots.
- It started out as a calm day, but then one of Mandroid’s drones showed up, causing trouble and making Dorothy take action. In the heat of a moment, a rogue con showed up and caused a forest fire that spread fast. You and Rory managed to handle the situation and the woods suffered minimum fire damage. But when you saw one of the Terrans get targeted by the con, it forced you to transform and save them before they could get hurt, revealing yourself to them and the Autobots.
- The Maltos would marvel as you endured the hit like it was nothing, also because you looked very much like Megatron. The rogue con would be frightened by your appearance and run away, leaving you alone with the kids and Terrans.
- “You are the Maltos, right?” you asked as they looked at you.
- When the situation was finally under control, you officially introduced yourself to the Maltos and the Autobots.
- Optimus and Megatron would be really shocked by your appearance but when Rory backed you up, telling them how long you had worked together as park rangers. The two leaders were convinced that you weren't an enemy.
-However, they would be full of questions, especially when you looked similar to Megatron. The former deception leader would even question himself if you two were somehow related.
- You knew the real truth about why you looked similar to him, and since, your existence was already revealed to them, you asked them to talk somewhere private and called your sisters.
- You would meet at the Maltos and your sisters would finally officially meet with Optimus and the Autobots.
- You then finally revealed your origins and the reason why you and Lyra looked so much alike to them is because you two were clones from their spark samples.
- The revelation would shock them, but when Wheeljack took samples from you and Lyra, he told them you were telling the truth. You two were their clones.
- You explained how you were created by the Quintessons in one of their labs, intended to be used as warriors for their enemies. Optimus and Megatron would then remember the time when they were once captured by them and pieced the timing. You then shared how you and Lyra were considered failures and were thrown into the hunting grounds of Quintessa which you then managed to escape and come to Earth, starting a new life.
- The bots would feel sympathy since they knew how cruel Quintessons could be and that you three used to be slaves. Your human names were the first real names you had and Earth had been your first real home. You didn’t even know anything about Cybertron.
- Megatron would feel upset for you due to his past as a miner. He knew what it was like to live and be treated like a lesser being, so he understood what you went through. He would convince Optimus that there was no need to take custody of you or your sisters.
- The Maltos and your family would back you up, not giving Optimus even a chance to consider following GHOST’s rules.
- Not that he would have put innocent transformers behind bars, but he agreed that you and your family would be kept a secret from GHOST.
- It would then start a beautiful friendship between your family and the Autobots.
- Lyra would easily bond with Elita over a combat training session. Elita would be impressed by Lyra’s fighting skills and start teaching her a trick or two. The two would be good friends and the bots would start questioning Lyra being Optimus’s clone as she was anything but like Optimus.
- You and Megatron would end up spending a lot of time. When you got over the introduction parts, you would tell him a lot about your passion for Earth’s literary culture. Megatron would listen and share things he knew about Cybertron’s literature, which you listened eagerly as you wanted to know more about Cybertron.
- Bria and Bumblebee would end up spending a lot of time with each other, but Bria would get excited when Wheeljack showed interest in her energon flower project. He would offer his help and feel impressed with her knowledge of Earth’s flora. Bumblebee would know very little about what was happening when the two got the conversation going.
- All would be good, but the Decepticons would be worried about the news that there was another Megatron on Earth.

i feel somewhat responsible for this, even if i’m not the one saying these things. I’m genuinely so sorry.
No need to apologize! It's not one singular person doing it and truth be told I don't think it's a large majority that thinks that (albeit the ones that do are quite vocal). I didn't mean to upset anyone or anything when complaining about it, I was just letting off some steam.
Tumblr media
Having a yap session under the cut sorry I feel like rambling under your ask anon.
Admittedly, I do think there are reasonings for people thinking this way. A lot of the focus with Clash has been on the cogs, especially after the 1.3 update. Which I can't say I blame them! Managers were something new and exciting and (from what I can tell) really separated them from the other servers. I don't blame them for wanting to put focus on that because that was their thing. Alongside other things, but majorly when you hear Clash the managers are mentioned in someway shape or form. But as we all know, toons ended up taking the short stick from this. This isn't helped by the gameplay itself, being mainly a fetch-quest deal so you often only talk to npcs once or twice unless if they're repeated ones and the taskline wasn't entirely accessible on the wiki for a while (shoutout to the wiki maintainers. The taskline script is a savior). Which I'm quite excited to see if they deal with this issue with the rewrite. I imagine they will, but anyways. Social media posts would often contain more managers than toons, which I also believe they're starting to fix. And ontop of this, I believe most of the team in the early era of the sever is gone, so there's been some stuff lost in the change. So yeah, dialogue/writing has been kind of rocky. AGAIN- I am completely aware of the rewrite going on and I am not judging them harshly based off of their current state. I'm very appreciative of the fact that they took the time to listen and are focusing on trying to fix it up. And then there's also fandom mischaracterization- especially of the cogs. Forgive me for mentioning mischaracterization because normally I wouldn't really care (I've mischaracterized characters before..especially in my younger years. I think it's just a process of learning an having fun and I hate to limit anyone because of it). With that being said, there's a lot of baby-fying and coddling of the managers. Especially with those who have more 'sympathetic' stories (Misty, Chip, Winston specifically). Don't get me wrong, I like these characters and I can appreciate the story they're trying to tell, but I feel like so many people will hear their dialogue and then misplace their anger. People get mad at Bessie for trying to protect HER lighthouse or at the Elders for trying to keep YOTT safe (lets not forget Winston was there to brainwash toons). Yes, yes technically there would've been better ways to do it but consider this: The toons are scared. Their homes, stores, lives are being taken over by a big corporation that has more resources that they do. They don't have the privilege of waiting, seeing, and gathering. And then people forget that the company has such a huge role in both toons and cogs lives. If you're mad over the mistreatment of Misty or the fact that Winston is still in the dungeon, your anger should be directed at the company who doesn't care. I may be completely wrong in saying this, but I feel like the stories with almost all of the managers is a reflection of the company. The toons are only trying to protect themself and their environments and yet this seems to go forgotten when people start bashing them. And of course, I'd consider myself a toon guy so me saying all this and complaining may come off as "I HATE the cogs and everyone who posts only about them!" and for clarification that's not true. You all know how much I like that little brain thing. The cogs are interesting, their designs are fun, I don't blame people for liking them because I do too. I just wish that the thought process behind so many of these discussions wasn't so cog focused because I believe that this anger at the toons for, RIGHTFULLY, defending themselves helps push this mischaracterization of them as a whole. That they're mean, boring, unlikeable while the opposite is true. Yes there are some, what I'd consider, "filler" dialogue from the shopkeepers. This is just because of the gameplay. But there are some funny and cute moments with them if people would just listen and read.
Which also brings me into another point: people skip the dialogue. I've caught myself doing this before (on my first account. I have 4 accounts total, so I reread the dialogue on like 3 of them). But people will complain about lack of toon personalities while doing this. It's like reading through a comic book, only looking at the drawings, and then complaining because there "isn't a storyline". Luckily, there's been efforts to keep track of the dialogue on the wiki but I doubt a lot of people are going through and reading the entire script. It just feels very disingenuous to criticize the dialogue when you haven't even read it. Likewise, people don't seem to read the blogposts either. This is both from a dialogue aspect and from an update aspect (people continuously asking about hammerspace/mix-and-match under unrelated posts).
#clemask#clemramble#I think I hit some sort of word limit because it wont let me add anymore so im continuing in tags#It kind of feels like people want the toon resistance to be the perfect victim and then get mad when they act accordingly#Fear. Nervousness. Sadness. Helplessness. Anger. etc etc are all valid reactions to their situation#Not every toon needs to be heroic and whimsical. they're scared. their situation is scary if you think about it#they're at the risk of losing their environment and homes.#Obviously the cogs also have their own issues but I always see this brought up when talking about them but the same context#isnt given to the toons when thinking about their characters and communities as a whole#It's kind of weird to me because I feel like even pre-rewrite I know that I can still understand them and justify their actions#and yet people act like clashes (pre rewrite) writing is justifying the cogs when in reality its not#its just showing that cog society (reflection of workplace enviroment) has its own issues. i never saw it as a justification#even with misty. like I never once hated bessie? my opinion of her never changed even after mistys dialogue#bessie did what she had to do because she was scared and wanted to protect herself and others.#id do something similar if a cog (known for taking over towns) suddenly came up to me#PLUS bessie leaves misty alone afterwards. ppl act like she took a shotgun and shot misty dead and it makes me laugh#ANYWAYS SORRY ANON. NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE.#realistically if youre not saying it then i doubt youre contributing#I would say “i wasnt mad” or anything but to be completely transparent with you guys i was Not-Happy when writing that one post#but it's not directed at any single person but rather the idea itself. I'm sure after the rewrite people will chill out#ITS NEVER THIS SERIOUS im beefing over characters named pretty princess sparkles. im aware of how silly this all sounds ok#the clash fandom isnt the only instance of this. ive seen stuff like this in sw before so like. I know this isnt an uncommon thing either#normally id just keep this on a priv or between friends but something kinda snapped yesterday#i think its bc I just KEEP seeing posts like it with those “hot take” posts or whatever and ppl are always so mean about it#i also think some ppl just already dont like toons and look for every. little. thing. to go after them for#like the “youve been drafted line” i refuse to believe people took that line 100% seriously#or maybe this is all wrong and im just a huge toon fan. and in that case i will die on this hill#you will have to pry them out of my cold dead hands before you catch me genuinely bashing them#ok thats clems giant critques and complaints out of the way

The choice from Sunday is kinda weird cuz the options are build a cage in the house for the bird or build a nest where it fell and one leads to the bird growing up but dying once its set free and the other one probably leads to it dying much sooner. They both feel like the same option and even tho obviously the most kind, caring, morally right thing to do is keep it inside so at least it lives longer even if it's in a cage. But like to me both options suck and are basically nothing cuz I'm sorry if I look like a bad person for this, but I'm not sorry, but I'm not fuckin touching a wild animal. Even if I knew it was there even if I bothered to check out the sound to find a bird, which I wouldn't, I'm not touching it. I'm not even getting close enough to find out it's too young to fly yet. Whatever happens to it happens man and I'll never know what happens to it cuz I'm not even gonna look at it. Like, where's the 'you seem like an asshole but really it's quite a normal choice' in this whole trial thing??? That's usually an option you can pick. Sunday!!! Sunday, listen!!! There are more than two choices!!! You don't have to always do something!!!! You can just walk away!!! You don't have to try to do something for everyone all the time!!! Think about yourself sometimes!!! It's not selfish I promise!!! SUNDAY!!! OH MY GOD HIS WINGS ARE COVERING HIS EARS HE CANT HEAR US!!!!
#i genuinely dont wanna pick anything#like okay. i know they dont have animal control or a shelter in this setting. but irl genuinely just call some people and see if theyll take#it if you wanna do something about it.#you are not getting my ass to touch a wild animal of any kind. i dont care what the situation is#i was asked once if i could help take care of some baby mice a friend accidentally ruined the nest of and a shelter wouldnt take them#and i was like. im sorry but no cuz i know for a fact im not equipped to handle something like that and i dont wanna touch wild mice and#i KNOW at least some of them will die and i wanna now have to deal with dead mice. and you know what happened?#the friend couldnt keep up with how often they needed to be fed and they died. and now you have dead mice.#something could have happened where they survived outside like the mom came back and fixed it maybe or at least one fended for itself#like its a shame the nest accidentally got ruined but it was an accident and things like that happen all the time#yes its an accident you caused but in the case of something like that i really dont think its suddenly your responsibility now#and i know itll make you feel better to try to make up for it but now you have dead mice#and i know for some people at least trying to help makes them feel better but now we're at the point where i just dont understand#i just cant comprehend the feeling or the idea or the thought.#so its like. i get sunday feels like he HAS to do something for everyone all the time but its genuinely turning him into a monster and he#cant see that. like trying all the time despite getting nothing done will tear you apart. let yourself rest#do the small things you can do around you. dont put the weight of everything on you all the time otherwise you wont get anything done#and youll start thinking not doing anything isnt even an option anymore#i promise its okay. take a break.#im not even referring to sunday anymore. you 🫵 its okay. take a break. make yourself feel better#then come back to things with a clearer calmer mind and do the small things you know you can do#dont force yourself to do everything because you feel like you have to. itll be okay. i promise#hsr 2.2 spoilers#hsr spoilers#oh right this is a spoiler post ifnfjfnfk#long post
