I see a lot of hybrid AUs for Task Force 141! And it makes me wonder if we can continue world building for it PLEASSE
Like example, owning a hybrid is now illegal, since most hybrids are acually intelligent enough to acually think for themselves (wow! Amazing!).
Do you think there is a hierarchy based on hybrids?
Like, exotic hybrids (Tigers, Birds, Nagas) have the most respect, like humans were "Yeah! Those guys shouldn't have to have owners to go outside!"
But hybrids like dogs, cats are still treated like "ohhh who's a good puppy!!!"
Then you have bunnies and cow hybrids that have been over-sexualized to the point where there is still derogatory and pressure to still join these industries that push horrible norms.
Anyways, I'm getting carry away. (In all honesty I make this a series because I'm too invested in this world building i made)
IMAGINE
Poly task force x Dog Hybrid! Reader
Tumblr media
Imagine just walking in the park with your boyfriends (or mates. Whatever your instinct say) and your new pup (2 months!!).
Imagine just enjoying their company and the sun, since it's the first time you've been out of the house since the hard labor. And some fuck ass old person comes up.
"Aww what adorable puppy you have!! Even more a beautiful breed of dog you have!!" que their fuck ass hand trying to touch your ears.
Simon immediately interfering, doesn't care about this person age, grabbing their arm before entering your personal space.
Price and Kyle immediately ushering you and the pup away, that's enough sunshine for today and social interaction.
Johnny immediately asks how you feel, checking on the pup. (I kinda headcanon that Johnny is like a quarter hybrid, doesn't have the ears or tail but has the intelligence. Like heightened hearing, smell, taste).
Continuous of worlding building, let's say hybrid ownership ended before you were born or John even.
The after-effects are style lingering, because for the most part, your parents will go on to tell you that they were separated from their parents when they were seven to go be lap dogs or even police hybrids. You didn't even meet your own grandparents untill 15 since due to DNA testing, your parents were able to reconnect with their own parents. Resulting in pack scenting and a two week long vist.
Let's say you joined the military due to your parent's background as police dogs, you got that good nose.
You got trained to be a bomb detection unit with alot of other hybrids. That's where you ment Johnny.
In all honesty. You could say working in the military is were no one saw you as a hybrid but as you.
Anyways, again there is alot to explore with this world building.
Johnny introduced you to his "pack-mates". Ghost immediately is smitten by you, having a soft spot for dog hybrids. Kyle, thought you were great company, funny, charismatic, overall an amazing person to be around with. He started carrying snacks for you with the excuse "hybrids need to eat more because of the extra energy they need", nah he just like seeing your eyes lit up when he open a treat bag. Price immediately saw your useful skill set, started making calls to get you on his task force. Made the argument for "inclusivity".
After a missin going wrong, resulting in Johnny and you almost dying. Task force decided to retire together when their contacts were up.
Immediately after buying a home together, Johnny begged you for pup, using the excuse that he had a big family and wants one again.
His special skill set is puppy eyes.

Forever Yours 18+
Request: How are we feeling about Tim Bradford meeting his high school girlfriend again as he's on patrol with Lucy and gets all flustered again cause you're the one for him (like you separated ways as he went to the police and you did something else but are back now) and you just feel the same old feelings. Later Lucy won't stop making fun of him cause he's always badass and now you seem to be his weak spot. Next day you visit him at the department with his favorite food and he asks you out on a date which you gladly accept. Just some fluffy cute Tim, with maaaaaybe smut at the end of their date and he won't let her leave him ever again? 😊
Next week is my bday, so I thought some Tim would be adorable !
Pairings: Tim Bradford x Teacher!Reader

Tumblr media
Los Angeles. You never thought you would come back here but after being away for so long you were itching to come back. Most importantly you were missing your high school crush and boyfriend, Tim Bradford. You two only split when he decided to go into the military and you wanted to become a teacher. It was a mutual break up but man did it still hurt. You two had lost contact and both of you had been too busy to try and reconnect with each other but now you were back having gotten your teaching degree and took the position as a first-grade teacher. You loved kids and they seemed to be drawn to you. It was really your true calling.
Last you heard of Tim was that he had gotten out of the military and had gone to the police academy, was married but then got divorced and he was working as a TO for LAPD. You heard all of this through his sister that you were best friends with. You had wanted to get in contact with him but school and kids kept you busy so you just let it go.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
The new school year was just about to start and you were excited. A few weeks before you had gone in and set up the classroom how you wanted and then started to figure out teaching material. A week before school actually starts you would be meeting the students and their parents for the first time. Overall, you were excited and couldn’t wait.
There was one week before school and you had gotten there early to start meeting the students and parents. The time had started and the students and parents started to slowly trickle in. Everyone you met were friendly and some of the dads even tried to flirt with you but you just smiled and continued on. You had your mind on one person and that was Tim Bradford.
It was finally the end of the day and you were exhausted but you had a lot of fun and loved seeing the kids. You made sure everything was in order and everything was cleaned then you were walking you out of the classroom and locking the door behind you. You left the school with a smile on your face. You couldn’t wait for Friday next week.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Your alarm on Friday went off early and you were getting up with a smile on your face. You turned it off and got in the shower and brushed your teeth. You walked out into your room in just a towel and started to get dressed. As you were doing so your cat, Biscuit, walked in and jumped on the bed and meowed at you, you turned and gave him some love and then you were back to getting ready. When you were done in there you walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen where your German Shepherd, Steel, greeted you. You gave Steel his food and then fed Biscuit and now you were getting yourself coffee as it was brewing you let Steel out and then when he was done, he was at the door wanting back in. You finished getting ready to leave the house. The coffee chimed when it was done and you grabbed the travel mug and headed out to your blue Toyota Tacoma.
It was a quick drive to the school and you got there with no trouble. As you were driving you looked like Tim but you were too busy paying attention to the road. You pulled into the parking lot and into the parking lot for the teachers. You parked and turned the engine off and then you were getting out and grabbing your bag. As you were walking into the building you greeted some of the other staff who were all so friendly and that made you smile.
You walked to your room and unlocked it and started to get everything ready for the day. About 7:50 AM students started to trickle in and you were at the door greeting everyone. Once everyone was in you closed the door and walked to the front of the classroom smiling and made sure everyone was sitting down. “Good morning, kiddos. My name is Ms. Y/L/N and I’m gonna be your teacher for this year. I’m excited to learn about each and every one of you and I can’t wait for the fun things I have planned for you all. It’s going to be a fun year. Now does anyone have questions for me or about me?” You asked and a few raised their hands. You looked over at them and smiled “Benson, what is your question?” You asked.
“Do you have any animals?” He asked with sweet innocent eyes and you smiled.
“I do, I have a dog named Steel and a cat named Biscuit.” You said
“Do you have pictures?” He asked and you smiled and pulled up a picture of your animals.
The rest of the morning went without a hitch. When they were at lunch you smiled and sat in your room thinking about what the plan was for the second half of the day. You were scrolling through your email and noticed there was going to be a fire drill and that they were going to bring the fire trucks, ambulances, and police in.
All the kids were back and you let them know what was going to be happening and you assured them that there was nothing to be afraid of and it was all a drill. Some still seemed scared so you said that they could come to you if they got too scared and that seemed like that helped ease them up a little bit. For now, the day went like normal and it would be happening close to the end of the day.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
“Did you hear that we have to go to the elementary school for a fire drill?” Lucy said as she and Tim were driving around making calls and making sure everything was good to go.
“Yes, I did.” Tim said, making his response short.
“How do you feel about that?” She asked
“I’m fine with it. It lets kids see the importance of what we do.” He said and she nodded seeing that he wasn’t up for any more discussing it. While they were waiting to be called to the school Tim was thinking about you and where you were. You were his high school love and he never stopped loving you even when he was married, he wanted to get back into contact with you but never seemed able to find the time but boy was he in or a surprise today. The time came and they were heading to the school along with the ambulance, firefighters, and two other shops. The point of this was to first have a fire drill and then show the importance of the first responders. Tim parked next to Talia and Nolan’s car and they headed over to the kids. Everyone was answering questions and then something, more like someone, caught Tim’s eye. He looked closer and it was you. You were bent down talking to a kid who was crying and you were trying to console them but it wasn’t working and so you picked the kid up and let them cry into your neck. He needed to see you and talk to you. “I’ll be right back.” He told Lucy and then was gone before she could say anything.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
“Hey, shhhhhh. You’re ok.” You said consoling the little boy. You were bouncing them around trying to soothe him. You didn’t even know Tim was walking up to you. “It’s nothing to be scared about. It just means that it helps on the way and they save people.” You said and he came out from your neck and sniffled.
“Really?” He asked and you smiled and were about to answer but a familiar male voice answered before for you.
“Absolutely. It means that we are on our way to save you.” Tim said and you looked up and saw him and the little boy looked at him.
“Really?” He asked and Tim smiled.
“Yup, my fellow officer John Nolan will be happy to show you and talk to you about it.” He said and then pointed over to him “He is right over there.” Tim said and the boy sniffled and nodded and you sat him down and watched him scamper off to John. Making sure he was safe before turning to Tim smiling. “You've always been so good with kids.” He said and you chuckled.
“You have too. One of the many reasons I fell in love with you.” You said and he smiled and looked down.
“It's been a while.” He said looking up at you and you nodded agreeing.
“Too long and that is my fault.” You said and his smile turned into a frown and he shook his head.
“No. That is not true. I'm the one that took off and didn't even try to contact.” He said and you shook your head.
“I'm to blame too.” You said and once again he was denying it.
“We can discuss this over dinner.” He said and you looked at him.
“Like a date?” You asked
“Exactly like that. My number is the same if you wanted to text me anytime.” He said and you smiled and nodded.
“Mine is too.” You said
“Ms. Y/L/N! She hit me!” Your student, Amber, said pointing to another student, Emma, as they ran up to you. You looked at Tim and he smiled and nodded. You bent down to the two girls. You walked back over to Lucy and the others watching you handle the situation with a smile. All he could think about was how you would deal with your and his kids and that put a smile on his face.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Tim walked back over to the group smiling. “Is The Tim Bradford actually smiling?” Lucy asked and everyone turned to see and he actually started to blush.
“He's blushing!” Angela said with a smile.
“I am not.” He said and tried to stop but he just saw the love of his life again.
“You so are! Is it because of that teacher you were flirting with?” Lucy asked and he didn't say anything and then the radio saved him and then he was quick to answer it.
“Come on Boot. We have work to do.” Tim said and walked over to his shop and she quickly followed behind him. When they got back to the shop his phone dinged and he was quick to pull it out and smiled when he saw it was you. Lucy took notice of this and she smirked.
“Is that her?” Lucy asked and Tim was quick to drop the smile and look at her.
“It’s none of your business.” He said and she rolled her eyes but smirked when she looked away, he was smiling and was quick to send a reply back and it was back to work for the both of you.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
You and Tim had been talking all week and the same old feelings were coming back. Saturday rolled around and you found out he was working and you decided to bring him and his coworkers. You loved baking and Tim knew this. You parked in a parking spot and then walked into the police station smiling. You greeted the front desk person and they smiled. “What can I do for you?” She asked.
“I’m here to see Tim Bradford.” You said and she smiled and then she paged him and he was coming down in time.
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” He asked and you smiled and turned to him.
“Well, you mentioned you were working today and thought you and your coworkers could use some baked goods.” You said and he smiled.
“Come on.” He said and you walked with him into where everyone was. It looked like they were just in for lunch. “Guys, this is Y/N. Y/N this is Angela, Talia, Lucy, Jackson, and Nolan.” He said and everyone waved as they were introduced.
“Nice to meet you all.” You said “I figured you all could use some goodies.” You said you waved your basket.
“Her cookies are to die for. They are my favorite” Tim said as you set the basket down in the break room. Tim wasn’t looking at anyone but you, everyone was smiling and looking at how lovesick he was and they were happy for him. Everyone got a cookie and they absolutely fell in love with them and they voiced this and that made you smile. “Hey, would you follow me?” He asked you and you nodded and he took your hand and led you to the briefing room.
“What’s up?” You asked as you sat on the edge of one of the tables.
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asked and you smiled and nodded.
“I would love to go on a date with you.” You said and that made him smile.
“Great! I’ll pick you up at 7 tonight?” He asked and you once again smiled.
“That sounds perfect.” You said and then you both continued to talk until he had to leave and that was cue now you had to go home and get ready for your date.
7 PM rolled around quickly and before you knew it you were opening the door to a smiling and well-dressed Timothy Bradford. “Wow.” He said and you blushed but Steel was quick to rush the door.
“Steel, off.” You said and he backed up and moved away from the door and that made Tim fall in love with you even more. You made sure to grab your keys, locking the door behind you, and the both of you headed to his truck where he helped you in and then closed the door and walked to the other side and got in and headed to the restaurant that he had picked out that he knew you would love. “So where are we going?” You asked and he smiled.
“It's a surprise but you’re going to love it. They have sushi.” He said when he looked over and saw you were about to say something and then your smile came back. “I’ve missed you. I’m sorry that I didn’t stay in contact.” He said and you shook your head.
“Nonsense. It was my fault too.” You said
“I guess it is both of our faults.” He said and you chuckled but agreed. You both were quick to get to the restaurant and he was quick to park and then was getting out and helping you out. You both walked into the restaurant and he walked up to the receptionist and he was quick to get you seated. You two talked and caught up and just had a delightful time, it was just like old times. You both ordered and now the wait for food has started.
“I missed you.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“I missed you too. It was hard to go on not knowing how you were but I was too selfish to actually text you.” He said and you nodded looking at him.
“It was hard finding out through your sister about what you were doing but it helped.” You said and he nodded and just then the food came and you both started eating and finished the date and now you were back at your house inviting him. Steel greeted you and so did Biscuit and they immediately fell in love with him and you fell back in love with him, though you never truly fell out of love with him.
You sat on the couch with a glass of wine, both of your animals had left the room so it was just the both of you, and you both leaned in and now you were kissing him and he was kissing back and neither of you were stopping each other. “Tell me to stop if you want me to stop.” He said when he pulled away and you looked him in the eye.
“I don’t want you to stop.” You said and he smiled.
“I was hoping you were going to say that.” He said and crashed his lips back into yours and he laid you down on the couch. He started to kiss your neck and then got to your sweet spot and gently bit it and that made you moan.
“Tim.” You moaned and he smirked and did it again. You clenched around nothing. You both worked on getting each other clothes off and everything was off in no time in a pile on the floor beside the couch. “I love you.” You said and he trailed down your body peppering it.
“I love you too.” He said in between kisses. He ghosted over nipples giving them equal attention but he knew where you needed him the most. This was not the first time you had sex with this man, he was your first in high school, sure you had sex with other men but nothing compared to him. He still knew how you liked it and knew all the right places to please you. He trailed down to your heated core and was quick to dive in and you moaned out throwing your head back and hands going to his head. He let up for just a second. “We can take this to the bedroom if you want.” He said and you shook your head.
“No, it's perfect here.” You said and he nodded and he was diving back into your pussy licking and sucking on your clit knowing exactly where to use his tongue to please you. “Tim.” You moaned out and bucked your hips towards him and he was quick to hold you down. Your hands left his head and they came up to clutch the couch cushions and your legs spread wider. He started swirling his tongue around your entrance and was tongue fucking you and you felt that rubber band feeling starting to tighten. “‘M close.” You moaned out but he stopped just as soon as you were about to cum. “Tim.” You moaned out in frustration but he was moving up to be face to face with you.
“What?” He asked his breath fanning you and you could smell the wine on this breath.
“I was about to cum.” You said and he smirked.
“You’ll get what you want soon.” He said and kissed you as he rubbed his cock up and down your wet folds and then let up on the kiss as he pushed into you and you both moaned. “See? I told you.” He said and all you did was moan. He stretched you in all the right places and it was like you were back in high school with him all over again.
“Tim.” You moaned and he smirked, loving the way he made you moan and the way you were gripping him. He started to move and you both moaned out.
“You’re still as tight as ever.” He said and attacked your neck with more kisses and love bites.
“You ruined all the other guys for me.” You moaned out and he gave a sharp thrust that hit your g-spot perfectly.
“Good.” He said
“You’re the only one for me.” You said and he gave another sharp thrust and then he started to go faster and you didn’t even have to ask for it. You both wanted this and you both needed it. Everything was perfect. Ever since he started to go faster it was making that rubber band feeling coming back. Each thrust was like heaven and you never wanted it to end. “I’m about to cum.” You moaned out.
“Me too.” He moaned out and picked up his pace and trailed one hand, leaving the other to keep his weight off of you, down to your body to your clit and he started to rub it, flick it, and pinch it all it was doing was making you come closer to the edge. Your orgasm was just right there and so was his.
“Tim!” You yelled out not caring who heard you.
“Cum for me.” He said and sent a flick to your clit and leaned down to bite your nipple and then you were seeing stars. Not a few seconds later his thrusts were getting sloppy “I’m gonna cum.” He said and then his hips stilled and he painted your walls right. It was a good thing you were on birth control, you thought as you and Tim came down from your highs. Tim slowly slipped out of you and then got behind you and threw an arm around you. He grabbed the blanket from off the back of the couch and threw it over you both. “I’m never gonna let you leave again.” He said and you smiled and nodded and turned to look at him.
“I’m never going to leave. Ever.” You said and he smiled and leaned down to kiss you.
“I love you.” He said
“I love you too.” You replied
You wanted this. You wanted forever with him and he wanted that with you too. You both wanted to marry each other and start a family with each other. Neither of you could wait to finally be with each other forever. You both wanted this since high school and nothing is going to get in the way of you both being together forever, not again.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
2 years later………
You and Tim had been married for 2 years now and had a 2-year-old son, Dakota. Your son was conceived on the last day of your honeymoon. Now you are 6 months pregnant with your second child, this one being a girl. Your jobs were going great and Tim had just been promoted to Sergeant which meant a bigger paycheck. Now you and Dakota were walking into the precinct to meet with your husband. You had just parked the car and got out and got Dakota out. “Kota, hold my hand when crossing the street.” You said and he nodded.
“Otay momma.” He said and you smiled and ran a hand through his hair, he was the exact copy of his father. You grabbed his hand and the both of you walked across the street and into the precinct.
“Good morning, Mrs. Bradford and Dakota.” The receptionist said and you smiled.
“Good morning, Veronica.” You said “Tim in?” You asked and she nodded.
“Yup, you know where to find him.” She said and you nodded and then you were heading to him with a hand on your sons and one on your stomach.
“Y/N! Dakota!” Lucy said and you smiled.
“Hello, Lucy.” You said and your son waved at her.
“Tim is in his office.” She said and you smiled and walked to his office. You looked into the room and saw him focusing on his work and you looked down at Dakota.
“Knock, Baby.” You said and he smiled and did so.
“Come in.” He said and you opened the door and you both stepped in.
“Daddy!” Dakota said and he looked up and smiled and walked around his desk and scooped his son up.
“Hello there, handsome. Have you been good for mommy?” He asked and he nodded.
“We went to the store, I helped!” Dakota rambled on and Tim smiled.
“You helped mommy?” He asked and looked at you and you nodded.
“Uh huh. I helped carry!” He said and he smiled.
“That’s my boy.” He said and kissed his cheek and then walked over and kissed you. “How is our little girl doing?” He asked.
“Currently being still for once but using my bladder as a soccer ball a lot.” You said and he chuckled. He put Dakota down and he walked over to the table with toys and coloring books that Tim kept for him. Tim put his hand on your stomach and immediately the baby kicked. “She must know that she has her daddy here.” You said and he chuckled and leaned down to kiss you.
“Mommy! Daddy! Come help!” Dakota all but shouted and you two broke apart.
“Ok, we’re coming.” Tim said and you followed him over there and he sat down on the ground and you sat in a chair which he helped you sit in. Tim got into helping Dakota so that you were able to lean back and watch with a smile on your face. This was the dream you always wanted with him and you got it finally after so long. You were married to the man of your dreams, had a son together, and have a daughter on the way. You rubbed your stomach as she kicked and that made you smile.
You were finally happy and couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your years with the man of your dreams since high school. They were your world and you wouldn’t trade anything for it. You loved your growing family and you knew Tim did and that made you happy. Tim looked over at you and smiled. “I love you.” You mouthed and he smiled.
“I love you too.” He mouthed and then Dakota was grabbing his attention again and you chuckled, yup you loved little growing family.

The Incident: It's not her
Tumblr media
-It's not her, It's not her, It's not her- I repeated over and over again from the laundry room where I was hiding, between one of my hands I held my small slippery cock and with the other I held the gym clothes of " Mama,” his tank top was completely soaked with his hot, sticky sweat and his boxers were so wet that he could squeeze the sweat out and drink it like the most delicious juice.
I felt like hell doing this with my mother's clothes... but she was no longer my mother or at least that's what I told myself to try to silence the guilt, "Mama" or rather Frank was living with me and we were increasingly In the same room all I could think about was kneeling before his long hairy legs and taking out his huge cock and worshiping his huge hairy shaft.
It had been a big surprise for the whole family that my own mother was one of those affected by one of those incidents that a group of terrorists were causing throughout the country. This time it happened in the supermarket. My mother was shopping at the supermarket when they released that gas everywhere.
When we saw the news about the terrorist attack we tried to call mom, but no one answered. And hours later the police knocked on our door to bring “mom” back to her home.
Tumblr media
I and dad stayed silent for several minutes watching a huge hairy man, almost 2 meters tall, enter our house with a bag full of groceries. “Mom” looked quite embarrassed. His movements were totally feminine and contrasted with that body. A thick beard. It covered his face and the thin fabric of his tank top revealed his muscular, hairy chest.
“Mama” ran to hug us with his long, strong arms, while a couple of tears of sadness stained his handsome face. Mom still didn't control his strength so that strong hug only made things even more awkward between us.
Tumblr media
All of this was too much for my dad, He… just stayed silent for days, the house had never felt so bad, but luckily I lived alone and was only visiting to help mom and all the changes she was going through.
A week after the Incident, Mama arrived at my apartment with a suitcase in her hand and with a sad expression on her face.
-Your father and I... we are taking some time-
I knew what that meant dad was always very homophobic, that's the reason I left home, when I came out of the closet dad had the same reaction, ignoring me completely, but this time it was his own wife who was now a “faggot”
Tumblr media
At first Mom's posture, movements and way of speaking were very effeminate, when we went to buy some clothes I heard some boys call us “faggots” without knowing that I was only shopping with my mother, but now I barely recognize her .
In just one month Mom started to change, she seemed much happier with her much younger and fit body, she started going to the gym and made new friends, loud, smelly, and extremely masculine guys, little by little Mom got used to his new friends and his new body and he completely became “Frank” Not only with his friends but also with me.
He stopped behaving like a 50-year-old lady and became a muscular airheaded caveman. When he's not devouring everything in the refrigerator while watching a football game in front of the TV, he's fucking some girl in what used to be my room. .
-That loser? Oh yes it's my... friend, his ex just left him and I let him sleep on my couch... but don't worry about him, now let me see those huge tits... -
That's usually his excuse when he brings a girl to my apartment, to fuck her loudly all night. And I... well, I sneak into the laundry room so I can listen much better as he fucks a new girl while I masturbate with her clothes, just like now.
Tumblr media
If you liked this story about the "incident" there is a whole series of stories about people who lost their real bodies thanks to one of those attacks that are happening all over the country in my Ko-Fi archives… if you're lucky you could be next.

Not Good For You
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings/characters: sam winchester x gn!you, dean is barely there
summary: when sam realizes his feelings for you he gets scared and distances himself from you and you confront him about it
warnings: sexual tension, light make-out scene, self doubt
word count: 2,682
A/N: i'm thinking of doing a part two as a follow up smut scene, currently undecided but i would love to hear your thoughts!!
(edit: i made a part 2!! Good Enough)
———————
The three of you had just gotten back from the police station. The boys had used their FBI badges to get information on some disappearances around town and Sam was confident enough that he had enough information to research what they would be hunting. Dean led the way into the motel room and quickly shed off his jacket and loosened his tie. Sam followed suit, rolling up his sleeves before grabbing his computer bag and sitting at the table provided in the motel's kitchenette.
Sam calls out your name, “do you wanna help?” He asks with a small, warm smile and gesturing to a chair across from him.
“‘Course,” you go grab your own bag and pull out your laptop and notebook. You settle in across from Sam and look up to see Dean flipping through the notes that Sam made.
“I’m really thinking it’s a witch. God, I hate witches,” Dean grumbles, setting the notes back down in front of Sam.
“I’m sure you’re right, but we need to figure out its motive and pattern,” Sam sets his chin in his hand, scrolling through his laptop. You grab Sam's notes and flip through the small pages, getting a glimpse over the information.
You start your research and Dean makes a few more phone calls. Every few minutes or so, you catch Sam looking at you and you give him a small smile but he just looks back down at his laptop.
Your recent relationship with Sam has been a bit tense. When you met the brothers a year or so ago, you started to team up every now and again with them when you were working the same case, but for the past few weeks you had followed them on the road from town to town. You three worked together like a well-oiled machine and you honestly wouldn’t pass up spending more time with Sam who had become a dear friend. Although, this is the fourth case in a row you’ve worked together and it seems like Sam has been getting quieter and quieter the more you’re in his presence.
Dean, however, had been ecstatic. He very much enjoyed your company and kept asking for your help with new hunts. You wondered if this was something he ever thought to run by Sam first.
It was odd, usually there was this spark between you and Sam, you had gotten along beautifully and became quite a good team. Sam seemed to enjoy the hours of research you’d help with and the extra set of eyes to witness and make fun of Dean and his dad-humor.
There had also been this current between you two- electric and heated.
Or maybe you just imagined it.
Because the way Sam was acting now was as if you two were just stuck together for a class assignment.
And it was starting to really piss you off.
An hour or so passes before Dean mentioned getting food and left to order takeout from somewhere.
Sam had undone a few of his buttons and completely discarded his tie by now, and his hair was a little messy from how often he had been running his hands through it. The sun was starting to set and you decided to be done with research because the glare of the sun on your screen was giving you a headache. Sam's head popped up for a moment to watch your hands close the lid but he darted his look back to his own screen.
“Are you okay?” You finally blurt out, looking at him with furrowed brows and a mixed look of confusion and little hurt. His head pops back up for a moment, a little taken back. The way his mouth moves nervously and eyes leave your face makes you think he knows that you’ve picked up on his behavior.
“I’m fine,” he smiles with a small nod, unconvincingly. You sigh softly and look down for a moment before speaking again.
“I think after this hunt I’m gonna head west for a while, check out the coast,” you say, stacking your notebook and laptop to shove it back in your bag. Out of the corner of your eye, you see his face soften into his trademark puppy-dog look but he quickly fixes his face and just nods.
“Okay, yeah,” he clears his throat and closes the lid of his laptop. It’s awkward for a moment. Your hands still hold your bag as you’re leaning over from putting away your items, stuck for a moment to decide what you’re gonna do next. “I’m sorry, I’ve just been tired,” he adds, you can tell he really is sorry, but he’s still lying.
You drop your hold on your bag and straighten your posture again. “That’s not it,” you state, wanting him to just admit whatever it is that’s going on. “You’re different and I don’t like it,” you continue, looking over his face for a reaction. He swallows and looks down, he’s thinking something deeper, clearer, but he won’t admit it. “Just tell me what’s wrong, please,” you push, knowing- hoping that he will just give in.
It’s quiet for a moment or two before he speaks again. “I think I’m just a bit burnt out from the job,” he says, packing away his own study items in his bag and standing to walk to his bed. You stand with him.
“Sam- don’t bullshit me, I know you,” you scoff, following him. He sets his bag down and spins around to you.
“You don’t know me and I don’t have to tell you everything,” he defends, “You're just a friend helping us out with a few cases, I don’t owe you anything,” he bites, you can tell his heart is pounding from the way his shoulders rise and fall with each breath. You take a step back, not used to this behavior from Sam.
You don’t know what to say. His words cut through your chest like a knife and you feel furious. You look over his face for any hint of an explanation for this behavior because you had never seen him like this before, he had always openly and readily shared his thoughts or feelings. The both of you have had numerous meaningful conversations in the past so you don't understand why he’s lashing out like this.
“Sam-“ you’re at a loss for words, hurt by his outburst, you’re not sure if you should give into your own anger and argue back or try to stay calm and talk him down. Sam lets out a huff of heavy air, closing his eyes and letting his shoulders slump. He runs a hand through his still messy hair. You try to ignore the way his hair, worn-in shirt, and panting frustration make him look and really, if his anger wasn’t directed at you, it would be a lot harder to contain your thoughts.
“Sam, you can talk to me,” you settle for calm coaxing, knowing your own burst of anger won’t help anybody right now. He turns to pace to the other side of the motel room, you just watch him. You can tell he’s trying to gather his thoughts which seem to be spilled everywhere like an annoying red wine, staining his mind- overcoming him completely. He stops for a moment and you can tell he’s just about come up with something to say.
“It’s complicated,” he sounds so defeated as he follows his words with your name, addressing you completely as his eyes meet your own. You would never understand how such a tall, broad, strong man could sometimes look so beautifully pitiful when overwhelmed with emotion just as he is now. Somehow, even when having a good difference of height over you, he’s found a way to look up at you.
“Take your time,” you say without missing a beat, trying to reassure him that you’re there for him. He’s quiet again and for a second his eyes dip down to your lips or neck, or maybe both. You take a few steps closer, showing him again that you’re here for him. “Something is up with you and I just want to help. Is it me? I know I’ve been around a lot lately and-“
“No, no. It’s not you,” he takes an instinctive step forward, “you’re never the problem.” He shakes his head softly, his gaze has altered slowly over the past few moments and now he’s looking back down on you, a look you’re more used to seeing from him. He’s gathered himself again- well, his confidence at least- because his hand reaches up in a gentle fist to let his thumb caress your cheek.
You’re stunned for a moment, not used to such a ginger and intimate touch from him. Your brows furrow slightly and you tilt your head, not meaning to lean into his hold more but not complaining.
His eyes search your face again and this time you can discern when he’s looking at your lips or neck or eyes. There’s a triad of emotion going on in his eyes but you don’t think you could list which three. They’ve clouded his vision and absorbed the previous stain, funneling it all through to his own lips but instead of speaking, he swiftly opens the span of his fist to hook his fingertips at the catch of your neck and pull you up to him. You’re so taken off guard at the quick movement that you stumble but his other hand is quick to press to your lower back and steady you against his hold, engulfing you completely.
Your hands were lifted in surprise but now idle as you melt into him, letting him support your balance fully. His hand slips back a bit into your hair and ever so slightly twists around a strand. The taste of him alone is enough to short-circuit your mind but the independent touches of his hands on your body and his chest pressed to yours make you weak.
He’s giving his all into this kiss- the good, the bad, the anger and the pain.
As your lips unlock you hold back a whine of discontent and he rests his forehead on yours, caressing your cheek with his thumb and his eyes still closed.
He’s so warm, all you can really focus on is how warm he is.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, his face overlaid with pain. You pull back enough to look up at him.
“Why are you apologizing?” You ask, still a little dizzy and probably a lot flushed.
“I can’t do this to you,” he mutters and lets go of you completely, taking a step back. Cold air quickly wraps around you and you really want him to hold you again.
“What are you talking about?” You ask, taking a step closer to him but he matches your dance and backs up in sync and that hurts. “Sam-” you call softly, trying to get him to look at you again.
“I shouldn’t have kissed you,” he shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair again. “I can’t do this to you,” he scoffs as if seeing himself as a joke. He sits on the edge of his bed and you just stand for a minute, completely confused.
“Talk to me, Sam,” you plead softly, sitting beside him and you’re relieved when he doesn’t move away or tense up.
“I can’t do this to you,” he repeats and the tone in his voice makes it seem like he thinks it will answer all of your questions if he says it enough.
“Do what?” You push.
“I just can’t,” his eyes squeeze closed in ignorant pain, trying to avoid your gaze and forget everything he’s feeling, “We can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not good for you,” he scoffs out again, finding dry humor in his own misery, “and I can’t be selfish with you. The life you and I live is dangerous, but together it’s damn near suicidal. I can’t do that to you, I can’t put you in danger- I’m not safe for you,” he says, voice thick with emotion and packed with a thousand more unspoken words- words that quite frankly wouldn’t do him justice. “I’m so sorry.” He peppers your name a few times through his raw explanation and each time he addresses you it makes your stomach flutter and refills the rosy flush on your cheeks. Honestly, you could smack him for kissing you like that just to apologize and speak of it as if it were a mistake.
“How long have you felt like this?” His admittance of feelings for you makes complete sense when paired with his distancing from you, as much as you hate to admit, you understand.
“I’ve always known I’m bad for the people around me,” his words break your heart, he really thinks that? “I’ve accepted that but I can’t let you get caught up in our mess,” he means Dean too.
“Sam, everyone has a mess, and you are not bad for the people around you,” you state, believing every word. He shakes his head with a small scoff, immediately brushing you off. “No, Sam, listen to me,” you grab his hand and squeeze it gently, his eyes drag to your grip and his face softens. “You are good. You are kind and generous and you have a good heart and good intentions. You aren’t bad for the people around you, you protect and love and care for your people and it shows,” you can tell he’s listening to and battling your words in his wine-stained mind, a mess you can’t even imagine, “I know that the life we lead isn’t a damn picnic and I also know that maybe it isn’t the smartest idea but what I do know is that if we have a chance to make ourselves happier then we’re idiots if we give that up.”
You let him absorb every thought at his own pace, the quiet like a blanket of comfort for you both.
He finally looks back up at you, every inch of his face showcasing the internal battle he’s having with himself.
“This isn’t smart,” he agrees with a small shake of his head, his eyes betraying him as they dip back down to your lips, hungry and needy. Fucking needy.
“We don’t always have to be, Sam,” you challenge softly, hoping to god that he’ll just give in and hold you and kiss you like that again.
His chest heaves softly, already panting- so fucking needy. The glint in his eyes show what you might as well call fear- of losing you and of having you.
His free hand grabs your chin gently but forcefully leads you to him, his warm lips taking yours again in a soft, sweet, terrifying battle of what-if’s and worst-cases. You grip his hand tighter and use the leverage to climb over top of him to get a batter angle, straddling his lap. His hands land on your hips and his fingers dig just enough to make you tremble at his grip. One hand remains as the other runs up your back and into your hair again, more forceful than your first kiss and way more intoxicating.
Your hands cup his jaw, guiding him along with your lips. He gets to guide your bodies, pressed close and sensual, but when it comes to his sweet mouth you take lead. You can tell your own forcefulness on him makes him feel weak by the sounds that escaped his and your collided lips.
He pulls back for a moment to get a good look at you, hair messy, lips puffy and cheeks flushed. He quickly lifts you and places you on your back on the bed. “I warned you,” he murmured, crawling back over you and letting his hand cup your neck again- a ghost of his previous hold.
To be fair, he really did warn you.

Episode 6: FadelStyle vs. Beginnings and Endings
In the past one and a half-ish weeks we've discussed at length just how good the last scene at the diner is and how Style drawing tears on Fadel at the rock concert was foreshadowing to Fadel ending the episode crying real tears. What I haven't seen discussed yet, however, is how that ending scene is actually a counterpart to Fadel and Style's conversation after the rock concert. And I think that makes the scene in the diner even more poignant. And it also makes the scene at the rock pub even more painful as well. Because they are basically the same scenes, just flipped. And I desperately need to talk about it or else I'll explode.
Part 1: "Tonight I am very happy"
Tumblr media
In this scene Style knows something that Fadel doesn't: This will most likely be their last chance to be happy together like this. Tomorrow Fadel will go on his mission where the police will be waiting and then Fadel will be taken away from him.
But Style already loves Fadel, he is already worried about him and he really does not want to lose him. So he keeps trying to subtly talk Fadel into staying home from the mission and spilling the beans about the mission so he can explicitly ask Fadel not to go. But Fadel keeps his mouth shut. And as happy as Style is together with Fadel this evening, he is also very upset. He doesn't want the night to end, but there's no way around it. For Style this is a goodbye.
And for Fadel? Fadel went from I'll tell her this will be your last job to Ruerat is the last jerk we have to kill. After that, we can live however we want. Even in this episode, right before he goes to the concert with Style, Fadel tells Bison "Once we’re done with Ruerat, I’ll talk to Mother again", when Bison says it's time for them to quit. Fadel is on the same page as Bison now. Ruerat is their last victim and after that Fadel wants out. For Fadel, this is the last night where he's still stuck in his hitman life, but once he is done with his mission the weight will be off his shoulders and he can finally truly be with Style. For Fadel this is the opposite of a goodbye.
In the words of my mother: For Style, when the night is over life will end. For Fadel, when the night is over life will begin. Style is ending something and Fadel wants to begin something.
And another thing my mom pointed out is how they're standing in front of a pink sky:
Tumblr media
And at what time of the day is the sky pink? Either at dawn or at dusk. The beginning of the day or the end of the day. And for Fadel this scene is only the beginning of the day while for Style this scene is the end of the day.
Part 2: "I think I already love you"
Tumblr media
In this scene Fadel knows something that Style doesn't: Style has played him, has made him lower his protective walls, has made him fall for him only to turn around and betray him.
Style told Fadel he hoped that Fadel wouldn't get any more scars and yet here Style is, stabbing Fadel right in the heart and jeopardizing his life. Here Style is, bursting Fadel's bubble that he's finally started daring to dream about, a dream of a future where he wasn't lonely, a future where he was happy and himself with someone, Style, by his side. Style is a danger to him. Style can't stay. As happy as Fadel has been together with Style, he needs to let go of him. For Fadel this is a goodbye.
And for Style? He has just spent a full week worrying sick about Fadel after his mission went wrong and went completely MIA. Style has likely (definitely) spent a week checking the restaurant every single day for any sign of Fadel's return, not giving up hope of seeing him again. And then Fadel is back. Style is overjoyed. The heavy metal concert wasn't their last day together, Fadel is pulling through on his promise to have many more nights like that with each other. The concert may have been the end of the day, but now against all odds a new day has come. For Style this is the opposite of a goodbye.
And so we're left with the exact opposite situation from what we had at the concert: Fadel is ending something and Style wants to begin something.
Conclusion
These two scenes go together, they're flipped parallels of each other.
At the concert Style is internally saying goodbye to Fadel because he thinks their relationship will be over when Fadel gets arrested at the mission and the police take him away. At the diner Fadel is internally saying goodbye to Style because he thinks their relationship is over now that he "knows" that none of it was real on Style's part since in reality he was working with said police.
At the concert Fadel is truly happy, because once his mission is over he'll talk to mother and when he's managed to convince her that him and Bison will be out, then Fadel can go and start a new life, a new future with Style. At the diner Style is overjoyed because he thought he was about to lose Fadel, but Fadel has come back and now Style gets a second chance at a future with Fadel.
At the concert, Fadel is happy and he can tell something is kinda off about Style ("What's wrong? You act like we’re not going to see each other again."), but he has absolutely no idea that Style is in the process of bidding him farewell. At the diner, Style is happy and he can tell something is kinda off about Fadel ("You were just calling me out for being affectionate. Now you wanna be romantic?"), but he has absolutely no idea that Fadel is in the process of bidding him farewell.
It's brilliant writing, really. And both scenes are flawlessly performed by both boys.

[Alarm blaring] Stone: Ivo, the café alarm! Robotnik: Robbed! We're being robbed! [jumps out of bed] Stone: Where are you going?! Robotnik: To confront them! Stone: No, don’t, you could get hurt. And we have a kid now. Shadow [from his room]: I vote he goes. Robotnik: If we're going to chicken out, why did we have the fox install an alarm? Stone: So someone else would go check. Robotnik: True… why does it have to be me? [picks up the phone and dials. on the phone]: Hedgehog. Sonic: What do you want now, Eggman? Didn’t we agree no shenanigans between 10 PM and noon? Robotnik: Don’t you hear the café alarm? Go check it out. Sonic: You go, it's your boyfriend's business! Robotnik: What kind of hero are you?! Sonic: Why don’t you go, Mr. Brave? Robotnik: Because I have a family now. Sonic: And I don’t??? Robotnik: But mine is new; they don't hate me yet. Sonic: Don’t worry, give them half a week and they’ll hate you like the rest of the neighborhood! Robotnik: Oh, he hung up on me! [dials angrily] Stone: Now who are you calling? Maddie: Hello? Robotnik: Tom’s wife? Maddie: Oh, no, no way. Robotnik: Oh, she hung up on me! [dials angrily again] Tom: Hello? Robotnik: Your wife hung up on me. Tom: Another reason to love her… Robotnik: Don’t you hear the alarm? Tom: Yeah, do us all a favor and turn it off. Goodnight. Robotnik: Oh, he hung up on me! That’s it. [Eggman jumps out of bed and leaves the house, vaulting the fence separating his home from the Wachowskis'. He lands on the barbecue, groaning in pain, then heads to the front door, cursing. He pounds on the door, kicks it and rings the bell at the same time] Knuckles [opening the door]: What’s your problem?! Isn’t the alarm enough without you competing with it?! Robotnik: Your coward of a father refuses to turn it off. Knuckles [cracks his knuckles]: Say that again! Say it! [Maddie, Sonic, and Tails rush out from inside the house, and Maddie places a hand on Knuckles' shoulder. Shadow and Stone arrive where Robotnik is.] Sonic: Not even ten minutes into the new day, and Eggman’s already picking fights with a teenager… Robotnik: He started it! You’re all against me in this neighborhood… Rouge [appears out of nowhere, landing angrily in her pajamas]: Okay, so is someone turning off the alarm, or will it keep ringing all night?! I have to get up at five in the morning! Shadow: Why aren't we calling the police and let them deal with it? Robotnik: That’s what I’m doing, hedgehog! The problem is, [faces Maddie]: someone's husband is a chicken! Tom [stepping out of the house, wearing a coat over his pajamas]: Look, I’m going, I'm dressed and leaving the house. Calm down, everyone. Maddie: Well? What do you have to say about my husband now? [Wade and Amy arrive on his bike.] Wade: Tom, the alarm’s going off. Rouge: Perfect, the brains of the group… Tom: Good job, Wade. You go on ahead, I’ll follow. Robotnik [to Maddie]: I say… your husband’s a chicken. [clucks and mimics a chicken flapping its wings] Tails: Wait, Dad, I’m coming with you. It’s my alarm. Sonic: Look at that, Eggman: an eight-year-old has more guts than you. Haha! Robotnik: Never! [pushes past Maddie to grab an umbrella] Sonic: What are you going to do with that?? Robotnik: Hedgehog, in my hands, this is a deadly weapon. [opens and closes the umbrella several times against invisible enemies] Maddie: Careful, that’s my favorite! Rouge: If no one’s going, I’ll do it! [flies toward the noise] Shadow: Rouge, wait! [follows her] Knuckles: We'll go with you, fox. As big brothers, it’s our duty. Sonic: Yeah, take my hand, buddy. Stone [grabbing Robotnik’s arm]: And I’m not leaving you alone. Wade: See you there! [waves] Amy: Unbelievable… [follows the group] Wade: Wait, Amy! [jogs to catch up] Maddie [left alone]: …Well, I’m not staying here alone like an idiot. [joins the group]

[[and then I met you || ch. 5]]
Series: Daredevil || Pairing: Matt Murdock x Fem!Reader || Rating: Explicit
Summary:
A one-night stand years ago gave you a daughter and you are now able to put a name to her father – Matthew Murdock. Everything is about to change again as you navigate trying to integrate your life with that of the handsome and charming blind lawyer’s and Matt realizes he needs to protect his new family from not only Hell's Kitchen but from the world.
pt: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
words: 4.4k
Tumblr media
It has been one week since you saw Matt Murdock on the evening news, and it feels like it has been a complete whirlwind. First, you reintroduced yourself to him and let him know he was a father, then you had a nice little outing, and to tie it all up, a trip to the doctors to confirm what you already knew.
Matthew Murdock is the father of your daughter.
It is nice to have an official statement from a doctor and now you can start the process of changing Minnie's paperwork to include his name. You have to go to the courthouse to file for an updated birth certificate. Matt has very kindly offered to take that task on for you - he goes to the courthouse often for his job and he knows the ins-and-outs of navigating legal paperwork. You just have to go and drop off the right documentation.
You had a brief call last night, after Minnie had been put down, and decided that you would visit his office today to do just that. You are going to kill two birds with one stone - hand over what needs to be filed and give Matt more time with his daughter.
To your great surprise, your timid little Mouse absolutely adores him. She was not happy to have to be at the doctor's office yesterday and was on the verge of tears before he showed up. Her whole mood shifted, and she had spent the brief time you were in the waiting room and exam room telling Matt about different things around them.
You have a feeling, when you sit down and tell her the truth, she is going to be thrilled.
You told her that you are going to visit Matt at work today, and all morning she has been hunched over her sketchbook making pictures for him while you try to get in some hours at work. Try being the key word, as you've been thoroughly distracted by today's news cycle.
You were half listening to a puff piece about something or other when breaking news flashed across the screen. A neighborhood in Connecticut has been leveled by some sort of explosion, killing hundreds. They don't know if it was an accident or some sort of attack - the epicenter of the blast was a school, so it could potentially be either. You pray it was a freak accident, some faulty pipeline or a weird meteor, because the world doesn't need any more horribleness in it.
The idea that it might have been an attack makes you nervous. You've been through two horrible attacks on New York, and you didn't realize another big event so close to home would shake you so hard.
It scares you that you have to raise Minnie in such a harsh world, where monsters of all kinds are very very real and you don't know who you can rely on. The police and government have been shown to be all kinds of corrupt and people who can shoot laser beams fight each other in the skies.
You end up clocking out and going to sit with Minnie to get yourself to stop your doom-listening. She's got a few drawings scattered around the table and you pick up the one closest to you, smiling at her handy work.
You recognize the shapes as her interpretation of people - oblongs with stick arms and noodle legs. Unknowingly, she's made her first new family portrait. There are three blob-people all holding hands: you suspect you're the big orange one with a smile, Minnie is the little pink one in the middle with what you guess are pigtails, and Matt is the black one with red eyes, who is also holding a stick. To confirm, you ask her.
"Is this one Mister Matt?"
Her head shoots up and a big grin spreads across her face, "Yeah!  And that's you and that's me and we're gonna go to the zoo!" There is a little flurry of motion and suddenly you are getting a picture show. She holds up the paper she was working on - there's another family drawing, but this time there's green scribbles all around you and a blue square with zig zags all over it. You guess that is some sort of animal.
"You want to go to the zoo with Mister Matt?" You ask, examining her masterpiece.
"Yeah!" She says, pulling over another picture that you know are her versions of flowers, even if they are all different colors. "And the park!"
"And the park? Wow, that's a lot of things to do. Do you want to ask him if he wants to go to the zoo with us when we see him today?" Minnie eagerly nods at the question and that makes you smile. "Okay, we can invite him to the zoo. When are we going to the zoo?"
The question makes her bounce in excitement, "My birthday!"
You laugh at her enthusiasm and give her a little back rub, "Exactly. We're going to go for your birthday. And get a big cake with whatever you want on it." That makes her a giggly mess and you temporarily forget all the bad things in the world.
You hand her back her drawing before kissing the top of her hair, "How about you finish this one up and we get ready to go see Mister Matt? We can only visit for a little bit, because he's working, but I bet he'll love everything you made him."
Greedy little hands take back the paper and instantly Mouse is hunched back over her zoo scene, purple crayon in hand. You get up and go to make sure that you have everything you need to bring to Matt in order. You are extremely lucky that the doctor has the ability to print out things in Braille, so you don't need to make an extra stop to get things translated.
You debate bringing Matt lunch, but ultimately decide against it. You don't want to push too much too fast, and you think it might be a little weird for his coworkers, to see a random person bring him homemade lunch. You know he hasn't told anyone yet about yourself and Minnie - he had shyly admitted it didn't feel real until the test results were given and you completely get it.
You tidy up until you spy Mouse dropping her crayons into her bucket and cleaning up her drawing area. You let her do her thing, then approach, "Let's put your drawings with the other things we need to give Mister Matt. That way they won't get lost or wrinkled."
She nods like you've just said something very wise and gathers up her stack of papers before handing them over. There's five in total; the three she showed you and two more full of colorful lines. You decide you'll listen in on her explanation to Matt on those two, as you're curious as to what goes on in her little mind.
Once everything is safe and ready to go, it's just a matter of getting shoes on. You go with your sensible sneakers while Minnie opts for her frog themed Wellingtons. The plan is for both of you to walk to the office, and after one final wallet-keys-phone check in your purse, you head out hand-in-hand.
It's mid-morning, so foot traffic is decent, but not heavy - nothing that makes Minnie too uncomfortable. Dark clouds are gathering on the horizon, and it makes you wonder if the rain that has been promised in the forecast will be coming sooner than expected and you are glad this outing is the only one you have planned. Taking Minnie around in the rain is never fun. It always seems like everything becomes more bustling in the rain and trying to navigate that with a crying toddler just makes you want to cry as well.
But the promise of her new favorite person and mild weather has her walking like the born and bred New Yorker she is - a determined little pout with no nonsense steps. No one will be trying to sell her things on the sidewalks once she gets bigger. If she had a different personality, you'd want to teach her to say "Hey, I'm walking here" just to hear a toddler say it.
As you spy the building Matt's office is in, you realize you should have sent him a text to say you were on your way. You did let him know vaguely what time you planned to stop by and he had assured you that they had no appointments - it was catch up on paperwork day - but that didn't mean walk-in clients hadn't come by. You're so close to already being there that you think the gesture is pointless, so you just keep walking until you get to the building.
"This is where we are going," you tell Minnie as you approach. You scoop her up to show her the business directory on the outside of the building. There aren't very many plaques to begin with, so it's easy to find the Nelson, Murdock, and Page one. "That is where Mister Matt works with his friends."
She leans out and feels over the embossed sign, running her fingers over the different letters. "'M'! For Minnie!" She says, pointing out the letter with a big smile.
"Exactly. Mister Matt's last name starts with M, too. That word is his last name - Murdock."
That gets her to turn back to the sign, fingers dancing over the letters, brows knitting with curiosity, "How is it spelled?"
You spell out Murdock for her and Minnie repeats each letter after you. You do this a few times until she's able to say it out loud on her own. You don't know how long she'll retain the information, as spelling isn't really on the board yet, but you're happy she's interested. You set her back down and she makes a beeline up the steps, grabbing and pulling at the door with all her three-year-old strength.
The lobby to the building is sparse, with basically only an elevator and staircase, with a door to what you suspect is a supply closet. "We're going up two staircases," you tell your daughter.
"Two!" She confirms before taking off towards the stairs. You have a brief moment of panic that she's going to zip up both sets faster than you can catch her, but to your great amusement, she grabs a hold of the banister with both hands and pretends to use it like a mountaineering rope to climb the stairs. She even adds little fake huffs and puffs. You follow behind her, ready to catch her if she slips. She doesn't, and when you get to the floor Matt's office is on, she turns to beam at you, clearly proud of herself, "We did it!"
"We did it," you parrot, offering out your hand again. She takes it and you lead her to the correct door. The same plaque that was on the exterior of the building also hangs beside their door and Minnie astutely points to it.
"Murdock!"
"That's right, it says Nelson, Murdock, and Page."
"Can I knock?" Mouse asks, raising her fist to do just that.
You hum, then gently explain, "This is business, which means work. For work, we don't have to knock. We can go in if it is open."
As soon as you say that she's opening the door and marching inside and you quickly follow her.
Matt's law partners, Foggy and Karen, are in the reception area with a man you assume is a client of theirs, talking in hushed annoyed sounding whispers. He radiates intimidation, with a huge black eye and what looks to be a makeshift cast made of duct tape around his right wrist. The three of them turn to look at you and you get the sense Minnie had the right idea in asking if she should knock first.
Your little one quickly latches onto your leg, turning timid in the space of a second and you can't really blame her. Part of you wants to turn and run.
Karen recovers first, breaking away from the two exasperated men to step towards you and going into receptionist mode, "Hi. You were here last week to meet with Matt, right?"
"Uh, yes, that's right. Is he, uh, available?" You ask, feeling like you no longer know how to speak English. The energy in the room is not a pleasant one and you very much feel like you've interrupted something important.
"He's on a call currently but I'll let him know you are here," Karen replies in a voice far kinder than what she uses to address the men behind her a beat later. She turns to them and points to the office you know is not Matt's. "In there. Now."
Foggy throws up his hands, like he's frustrated with whatever is going on and disappears into the other room. The man you don't know doesn't follow, eyes on you and your daughter as Karen crosses the room to knock on Matt's door before opening it and slipping into the office. You quickly decide you are not going to make eye contact with him, instead ducking your head and putting a comforting hand on Minnie's head. She's practically hidden herself behind your legs, clinging to your pants so tightly you fear they might rip.
"I like your boots," the man says into the quietness. You expect him to sound like gravel, but his gruff voice is rather soft, and you get the feeling he understands how to talk to children "My daughter used to have boots like those."
Part of you wants to tell the man to not talk to your daughter, but that would be rude and just because he looks like he's been through the ringer doesn't mean he's a bad man. You decide to let her determine how she wants to proceed.
You feel Minnie poke her head out from where she's hidden herself. At first, you don't think she's going to reply, as you know how she is, but she surprises you yet again by mumbling out, "They're froggies."
"Yeah? You like frogs?"
Mouse somehow tightens her grip, "I like animals." She presses her face against your leg, then admits, a little louder, "we're gonna to the zoo for my birthday."
That makes the man smile, and that changes his whole demeanor. Suddenly he looks friendly and kind and not like he's likely to stab you, "That's a good place to go for your birthday. How old are you gonna be?"
Before she can respond, the door to Matt's office swings open and Karen stalks out, followed by Matt, who seems much less agitated than everyone else. The blonde points to the unknown man, a little scowl on her face, "What did I say?"
The man holds up his hands defensively, stepping away from Karen and towards the office he was previously told to go in, "Alright, alright, I'm going. I'm going." That doesn't seem to help soothe her at all, as she grabs the man by the bicep and frog-marches him to join Foggy, closing the door behind them.
"They didn't make you wait long, did they?" Matt asks, bringing your attention back to him. There is a cut on his lip that wasn't there the last time you saw him, and your instinct is to ask if he is okay, but you don't know if you are at that level with him yet.
So instead, you address his question, "No, no, we just got here."
He motions back to his office, a smile spreading across his face, and you almost forget about the cut, "Come on back and we can review everything."
Minnie lets go of your pants only to take your hand again and you lead her into the other room. As you pass Matt, she looks up at him and gives a tiny wave.
"Hi, Mister Matt."
Matt's shoulders visibly relax at her greeting, and you can't help but start to smile, "Hi, sweetheart. How are you doing today?"
"Good! I maded you pictures," she says proudly. That causes him to pause as he starts to follow you into his office. You can tell he is surprised by the news - his voice gets a little choked up when he responds.
"You made me some pictures?"
"They are very good pictures," you advise, squeezing Minnie's hand slightly before letting go, "Do you want to tell Mister Matt what you drew for him?" She nods eagerly, so you point to one of the chairs in front of his desk. "Go sit like a big girl and you can tell him."
She makes a dash for the chair, and you take the time to address Matt, "I'm sorry, I should have called ahead."
He shakes his head, and as he walks past you to go behind the desk, he reaches out and brushes his hand along your arm. A little shiver runs up your spine at the touch and you tell yourself the action was so he could orient himself. "Not a problem, I knew you were coming. How is everything?"
"Everything is good," you reply, a little shyer than you intend to. "I, uh, have everything for you. Is there anything else I need to fill out?"
Matt shakes his head, "Just a signature and date. You've done all the work for me already. I don't think I've ever had to file where I don't need to actually do anything but sign the document. It's a refreshing change."
"Do you know how long it will take to process?" You ask as you move to join Minnie in sitting. "The website gave multiple timelines and I just want to be realistic."
Matt takes his seat with a cocky grin, "Not long at all, I know a few judges I can ask to push it through."
You flush at the idea of him asking a favor to a judge on your account, "That's not necessary, Matt, I don't mind waiting."
He shakes his head, getting that soft look again, "I don't want to wait. I want it to be official in the eyes of the government."
His words make you feel even warmer, and you distract yourself by pulling the file with all the paperwork out of your purse and pass it over to him. "Minnie's additions are at the bottom of the stack. The last five pages"
His fingers twitch slightly, and you wonder if he wants to flip right to those. You get your answer quickly.
"Minnie, is it okay if I go over the paperwork with your mom before you tell me about your pictures?"
"It's okay!" She replies, her voice much more cheerful now that you are alone with Matt. "Do you needs help?"
Her sweetness makes Matt smile more and he shakes his head, "Not right now, sweetheart. I need to read, and I can do that with my fingers, but after that you can help with some other things."
"Okay," she says happily, kicking her feet a little bit.
You catch her attention and motion to your purse, "Do you want a toy while you wait?"
She shakes her head and beams up at you, "No thank you, I'm a big girl!"
Both you and Matt chuckle at her declaration and he moves to open the file.
"There's multiple copies of everything," you tell him as you move onto business, "One printed text and one in Braille for the courts and the same for you. I have the same at home, as well. They are bundled in packets. The court papers are on top, Braille first."
He thanks you then begins to read the forms. Mouse sits up straighter in her chair to try and see what he is doing. She can just peek over the edge, and she watches in fascination as his fingers move over the pages. You wait quietly, not wanting to distract in any way.
"Everything appears to be in order. We will just need a signature," Matt says after a minute.
"Should I do that now?" You ask. The response is him offering you a pen, so you lean in to sign the various forms. As you set each document aside, Matt adds his own signature. It is silly how giddy you feel just having the forms finally completed. You don't know how long you've had just blank copies, waiting to be filed.
"And done," Matt says with a final flick of his pen on the last page. "I'm going to the courthouse on Tuesday, so I'll get it processed then. I'll push to get an updated certificate as quickly as possible."
You have to bite your lip to keep from smiling like a crazy person. This isn't some dream or far off fantasy. Matt isn't just saying he wants to be Minnie's father. He is following through, with urgency. This is something he wants and it's almost surreal for you - you are so used to promises being broken and no one being on the same page as you in your desires. Even if this is all for Minnie and not for you, it is still on the edge of overwhelming for you.
You never thought you'd be so happy over paperwork.
"Thank you, Matt," you whisper, leaning back into your seat to sit properly.
Immediately, Minnie parrots you, thanking Matt even though she has no idea what is going on.
"No, thank you. Thank you both," he says, and you wonder if he is also holding back from smiling. He gathers the papers and sets them aside before running his fingers over the folder you gave him and addressing his daughter. "Okay, sweetheart. Do you want to come tell me what you drew?"
You expect Minnie to stand on the chair and even prepare yourself to balance her, but that does not happen. She hops down and scurries around the desk to be at Matt's side and a moment later, he is pushing his chair back and she is climbing up into his lap. Embarrassment rushes through you - she's only ever behaved like this with you. She actually used to fuss and cry if anyone else tried to hold her. You haven't seen her sit in anyone else's lap since she had a say in who gets to hold her.
"Minnie!" You scold but Matt quickly shakes his head as he helps her up.
"It's okay, I don't mind," he tells you even though he looks completely shocked. If he wasn't her father, you wouldn't allow this, especially with someone so new to her, but he is her father, even if she doesn't know, so you don't tell her to get down.
Instead, you give a stern frown, "Minnie, you still need to ask before climbing on anyone, okay? Can you apologize?"
Your little girl nods, then looks up at him, "I'm sorry, Mister Matt."
"It's okay, sweetheart. Like I said, I don't mind, but your Mommy is right, and you should ask so I know you are there. Next time, you'll know. Now, your Mommy said there were five pictures. Which do you want to start with?" He asks, scooting his chair back to the desk while wrapping one arm around Minnie's waist to keep her secure.
Once she's able to, she leans in and picks up the first drawing in the stack. It is the family portrait, and you quickly get your phone out so you can record this interaction as Minnie lays out the picture. She then takes Matt's free hand and guides it to the paper before letting go to point at the circle that represents him.
"This is you," she tells him. He quickly finds where she is pointing and begins to trace the figure.
"That's me?" And there is definitely more than a little bit of emotion in his voice.
"Uh-huh, and that is me and Mommy and we're gonna go to see the duckies. Mommy said we can go again. But we're gonna get ice cream too. And a balloon," she says, moving her little finger all over the page.
You watch Matt's finger follow hers - first over the doodle of himself, then Minnie's, and finally yours. Then, he traces back to the center figure. "We're holding hands?" He asks tentatively.
"Yup!" She answers, popping the p. "Mommy says we gotta hold hands if we go outside."
Matt licks his lips a little and you see his muscles flex under his jacket as he holds Minnie a little more firmly to his chest, like he doesn't want to let go of her. "That's a good rule."
"Mommy makes good rules," your little one replies wisely. That makes your ego sing a little. Mouse has always been good at doing what she's told, and you are proud that she understands your rules keep her safe.
Before she moves onto the next picture, you gently prompt her. "Sweetie, was there something you wanted to ask Mister Matt?"
Matt's head jerks up at that, looking right to you with brows slightly knit. Minnie bounces in his lap just a little, squirming so she can turn to look up at him, "I'm gonna go to the zoo! For my birthday! Do you wanna go?"
His lips part in surprise at the question and before you know it, he has both his arms wrapped around Mouse, hugging her to him. She instantly responds, looping her little arms around his neck and squeezing back. He rests his cheek against her head, and you see him slightly rock her from side to side. "I would love to go with you to the zoo, sweetheart."
Minnie giggles into his neck and you one hundred percent know that the transition to suddenly having two parents is not going to be hard for her at all. It might be confusing because Matt won't be living with you, but you have never seen her so comfortable with someone who isn't you. You know it's not just because he gave her a toy. They just click together so well.
You switch from video to your camera so you can sneak as many pictures as you can of Matt and Minnie hugging. They've completely forgotten about you and that is a-okay.
In this moment, nothing else matters to you - not the strange man in the other office or the devastation a few states over or all the other trivial things that nag you and make your stomach turn.
Your world is right in front of you and for the first time in a very, very long time, you really, truly believe everything is going to be just fine.

CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2
1
“You’re an early bird.” Jake said, seeing Y/n cooking breakfast for them.
“I’m not, I’m just thankful that you took me.” Y/n replied, serving him his plate full of food. Eggs, bacon, toast and potato fritter. “You know you need to go grocery shopping, your fridge is empty.” She added, taking a seat in front of him.
“I don’t really cook,” Jake said. “Jay was the one who usually cooks for us,” he uttered quietly.
“Jay is a good cook, a great one. I don’t know why he chose this path, maybe if he didn’t he would still be by my side.” Y/n stated, eating the bacon she had cooked earlier.  “Tell me about my brother, when he was working with you.” Y/n said, looking up at him.
“Hmm, what can I say about him? Jay is a hardworking guy, he’s good at everything, he never rejected any job offers despite their dangers, he doesn’t care, if he’s receiving a nice amount of money he takes it, without any doubt, no second thoughts he takes it, that’s why everyone envies him, until now, the department just simply can’t find someone as good as him. Whenever someone asks him why he takes dangerous jobs, no questions asked, he’ll always tell them he wants to give you a nice life, that he wants you to have nice clothes, nice foods, nice places, everything.” Jake shared.
“I told him I don’t want any of that.” Y/n replied to him, sighing.
“When he was offered the job, the job that took his life, he told the chief he’s not taking it. He told him that if  he doesn’t come back to you, no one will take care of you, but that same day he found out you’re sick, you needed treatment for your surgery. I could’ve told him I’ll pay for your surgery expenses and hospital bills but instead I told him I’ll take care of you.” Jake added on his story.
“It’s not your fault, he would’ve taken it anyways, it was my fault, I got sick.” Y/n uttered quietly, finishing the last toast on her plate, as she took her empty plate on the sink, with Jake watching her.
2
Entering the office together, silent murmurs can be heard throughout the hallways, as the news of Jake taking a rookie spreaded like a virus, it was a big deal, as he never liked the idea of taking a rookie.
“Why’d you never take a rookie?” Y/n asked, entering the elevator with Jake. “Are you nervous?” Y/n asked, seeing Jake being uneasy.
“Y/n, if they mention Jay, don’t react, if you react I don’t know what they’ll do. And to answer your question, your brother was my first rookie. After his death I told myself I’m not taking more rookies again.” Jake replied at Y/n.
Y/n followed behind Jake, who’s leading her to the meeting office to talk about the serial murder case that’s been happening for almost 3 years now.
“Mr. Sim Jaeyun, it’s been awhile, and well what do we have here, a rookie after 3 years a rookie.” The leader of the investigation greeted them, as soon they entered the room.
“This is Y/n, she’s my rookie and she’ll be helping us with the case.” Jake said, looking at the man in front of him, who has been looking at him with a smug look on his face.
“Well Y/n, I’m Lee Eunyeok, call me Mr. Lee or just simply Eunyeok.” He said, introducing himself to Y/n.
“Shall we start?” A guy asked, as they all nodded in response.
“I’m Park Sunghoon, Jake’s partner.” Sunghoon said, introducing himself to Y/n as he sat beside Jake.
“I’m Y/n, he didn’t mention he has a partner.” Y/n replied at him, grinning softly.
“Not that type of partner, little one.” Jake whispered in her ears.
“I didn’t say anything.” Y/n whispered back.
“Okay, so latest murder happened a few nights ago, victim is 40 years old male, arrested for rape but charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, no murder weapons were retrived  nor any fingerprints were detected.” Eunyeok said, showing everyone the slideshow to show them the stab wounds of the victim. “Our theory is that the serial killer used a kitchen knife to stab the victim,” he continued.
“That’s not a kitchen knife stab wound,” Y/n said, interrupting Eunyeok from speaking.
“Excuse me?” Eunyeok asked, while Jake signaled her not to say anything more.
“That’s a pocket knife stab wound, you can see it from the tissue damage, it’s not a clean cut from a single stab of a kitchen knife, but a cut created by multiple stabs from a pocket knife.” Y/n explained.
“And who taught you that? Cause that doesn’t make sense, it’s bullshit.” Eunyeok said, chuckling as everyone in the room started laughing.
“That’s an absurd theory.” One of them said as they continued to laugh until they shut them off.
“Jay taught me about it.” Y/n said, making the laughter die down.
“Y/n, stop it.” Jake said, as he signaled her not to say anything more than that.
“You know Jay?” Eunyeok asked.
“Yeah, the officer you got killed 3 years ago. The job was offered to you but because it’s dangerous you offered it to my brother knowing he won’t decline the offer.” Y/n disclosed.
“Let’s continue the meeting tomorrow, Y/n let’s go.” Jake said, but he was stopped.
“Why don’t you send her with Sunghoon, stay here for awhile,” Eunyeok said.
“That girl, that’s Jay’s sister?” Eunyeok asked.
“Yes, but please, leave her out of it, she doesn’t know everything.” Jake replied.
“Well let’s hope that, because you know what will happen.” Eunyeok told him before leaving the room.
3
The car ride was silent, as Jake decided to buy some groceries with Y/n to ease his mind.
“Sorry.” Y/n said, breaking the ice inside the moving car. “Please say something,” Y/n uttered again, as Jake didn’t respond.
“I told you not to mention him.” Jake said through his gritted teeth.
“Can’t help it.” Y/n replied quietly.
“From now on you’re not going to the meetings, nor near the building, you’ll only go there to report your status.” Jake told her.
“Why?” Y/n asked.
“Because you got yourself in their radar, and now I have to keep you beside me at all times, because if not, you’ll end up like your brother.” Jake replied, parking his car near the grocery entrance.
“He got my brother killed yet he’s standing there leading the investigation.” Y/n said before coming out of the car, as Jake sighed.
“Jay, give me strength, your sister is adorable when pissed off.” Jake whispered.
Jake followed Y/n inside the grocery, who’s now running like a little kid as soon as she got the shopping cart, making Jake chuckle at her. “No wonder your brother loves you so much,” Jake whispered.
“Take any food you want,” Jake told Y/n, helping her push the cart.
“Should I cook something for dinner?” Y/n asked, looking up at Jake.
“Let’s just order take out.” Jake replied.
“What will I do at home?” Y/n suddenly asked.
“I’ll print you all copies of the cases from 3 years ago, and help us like that.” Jake responded, grabbing a pack of ramens to put on the cart.
“You know, I really like spicy ramen,” Y/n mentioned, seeing him only getting mild ramens.
“You do?” Jake asked.
“I love them.” Y/n replied with a little smile on her face.
4
Arriving at Jake’s place from the grocery, Y/n helped out to take all the groceries he bought for them inside the apartment.
“It’s been 3 years since I’ve bought this amount of groceries.” Jake said, as he struggled to carry all the foods they bought.
“I told you I can help carry them,” Y/n mumbled.
“Has Jay ever let you carry more than 1 grocery bag?” Jake asked, looking at Y/n as he finally set down the groceries down the kitchen table.
“No, he never let me carry one.” Y/n replied.
“Great, your brother will now have a reason to hunt me in my sleep.” Jake said, panting.
“Oh don’t be so dramatic,” Y/n replied, handing him a cold glass of water.
“Thank you.” Jake said.
During dinner they both ate the take out they bought at a korean restaurant on their way home.
“Are these all the cases?” Y/n asked, as she skimmed all the printed cases Jake had printed her.
“No, there are more, but I have to grab them at my office, so stay put, I’ll be back, call me if there’s an emergency and don’t open the door unless it’s me.” Jake said as he grabbed his car keys to get all the remaining files printed from his office.
“Jake, would you mind buying some midnight snacks?” Y/n asked.
“We bought a lot of snacks,” Jake said.
“I forgot to take lays.” Y/n mumbled.
“I’ll get them on my way back here.” Jake said before going out.
After Jake left to get the remaining files, Y/n started skimming on the files Jake had already printed.
First victim: Male, 30 years old arrested for murder, case dropped due to insufficient evidence. Stabbed 10 times on his chest and 3 times on his back. No murder weapons retrieved. No fingerprints recovered. Murder weapon: kitchen knife.
“Are they dumb? That’s clearly not from a kitchen knife.” Y/n mumbled as she continued reading the first case of the serial killer.
Second victim: Male, 25 years old arrested for sexual assault, case dropped due to insufficient evidence. Stabbed 10 times on his chest. No murder weapons and no fingerprints recovered. Murder weapon: kitchen knife.
“Why do they keep putting the kitchen knife when it’s not a kitchen knife,” Y/n mumbled, but her thoughts were interrupted when the bell rang.
Forgetting what Jake had told her, she opened the door.
CHAPTER 3
1
Y/n kept reading the files on the case they’re working on, theres a lot of them, from the last 3 years they haven’t caught the killer, the murderer. The biggest question in Y/n’s mind is, what’s his/her motive of doing this.
On all the case files, all of them end with a dead end. No murder weapons, no fingerprints, no clue, there’s nothing, the serial killer is very smart.
“Will Jay be able to solve this if he’s still here?” Y/n quietly asked herself.
Jay was once the best rookie, he can solve anything not even detectives can solve, he’s one of a kind. Jake was his mentor, however being the same age, they treated each other like brothers, they’re friends, Jake was just his senior for 2 years, he graduated earlier than him, he’s a smartass. Jay graduated later because of his sister. He wants his sister to be able to handle herself first before going to the university, but that changed when their parents died in a car crash. He needed money, he worked 3 jobs a day for a year until he decided to go inside the academy.
After 3 years of being in the academy he was finally sent to the police department of crime teams, Jake took him as his rookie. He never made a mistake during his rookie year, not even after.
Jay was offered one of the dangerous jobs, spy a frat group by going inside, just for a year and receive 6 figures monthly, he wasn’t going to take it, but hearing the amount of money he took it, he can use it for his sister’s heart surgery, he accepted it, however he didn’t make it to his sister’s 18th birthday.
2
The doorbell kept ringing, making Y/n sigh in frustration.
“Can’t you fucking wait?” Y/n asked, opening the door, Jake told her not to open it. “Shit!” Y/n exclaimed. “What the fuck happened to you!?” Y/n asked as she tried helping him up to get inside Jake’s apartment. Successfully helping him inside she flopped him down the sofa.
“Wait there I’m calling Jake.” Y/n said, leaving injured Sunghoon in the living room.
“Fucking answer Jake,” Y/n mumbled. “Goddammit!” Y/n exclaimed as she threw her phone on the bed. Going into the living room to check on Sunghoon.
“Hey, you up?” Y/n asked, shaking the guy in front of her, who just groaned. “At Least help me lift your shirt,” Y/n mumbled, trying to remove his shirt to see his injury.
“Don’t,” Sunghoon mumbled, stopping her from removing his shirt.
“We have to treat it.” Y/n said sternly, fighting Sunghoon’s grip.
“You don’t want to see it.” Sunghoon said weakly, coughing up blood.
“I’m calling the ambulance.” Y/n said, just to get stopped by him. “You’re gonna die.” Y/n said, panicking.
“He won’t.” Jake said, slamming the door open. “Little one, grab me a towel and some water,” Jake said, sending Y/n away to check on Sunghoon’s wound.
Y/n went inside Jake’s room to grab a towel, not forgetting to fill up a basin with water.
“Oh my god!” Y/n exclaimed, turning around as she saw Sunghoon’s big injury on his stomach.
Jake stood up from his position to grab the towel and water from Y/n and told her “I can manage little one. Go and keep reading the files, oh and that’s your midnight snack.”
“He’s gonna die if you don’t bring him to the hospital.” Y/n said.
“I won’t let it happen.” Jake said, trying to calm her down.
Jake started cleaning his wounds, hearing grunts from Sunghoon he pressed harder on his wounds.
“It fucking hurts.” Sunghoon groaned, opening his eyes glaring at Jake who’s already glaring back at him.
“What the fuck happened?” Jake asked as he continued treating Sunghoon’s open wounds.
“Nothing, but I made a mistake,” Sunghoon responded, groaning.
“What did you do?” Jake asked.
“I dropped my pocket knife.” Sunghoon replied quietly.
“Don’t worry about it. We’ll get it tomorrow.” Jake replied to him quietly.
“What will you do about Y/n?” Sunghoon asked.
“I don’t know.” Jake responded.
“She just dug her own grave.” Sunghoon replied back.
“She’s mad about her brother’s death, and she finally met the people who put her brother’s life on the line, and now he’s gone.” Jake said.
“You like her don’t you?” Sunghoon said teasingly.
“Shut up.” Jake retorted, making Sunghoon chuckle.
“Remember when you told me a lot of stories about her when we met in the academy and years later you met her brother again,” Sunghoon reminded him.
“I did talk a lot about her.” Jake responded. “I can’t be with her, her brother will haunt me if I try dating her.” He added, making Sunghoon laugh who groaned in pain right after.
“You know you can’t keep her here, you should get her an apartment or something or maybe a car if she drives so she doesn’t die of boredness here, she can’t be reading files 24/7,” Sunghoon said.
“I’ll talk to her about it.” Jake said as he continued to treat his friend’s wound that just stopped bleeding.
3
Y/n continued reading the files for the next hour but her mind kept drifting to injured Sunghoon. Sighing, she decided to leave Jake’s office.
She saw Jake cleaning the blood off the floor and Sunghoon sleeping on the couch.
“He’s fine.” Jake announced, making Y/n sigh in relief.
“What happened to him?” Y/n asked as she sat on the floor to check on Sunghoon’s wound.
“I don’t know little one, ask him tomorrow.” Jake replied. “Come on, let’s get you to bed.” Jake added, trying to lift her.
“I can walk.” Y/n mumbled.
“I’ll carry you.” Jake said as he successfully lifted her up, carrying her to his bedroom.
Jake dropped Y/n on his bed before going inside his bathroom to clean himself up. Getting up from the bed, Y/n knocked on the bathroom’s door.
“You need something?” Jake asked from the other side.
“I also need to wash up.” Y/n replied, the door unlocking, revealing a topless Jake.
“Wash up here, I’ll wash up in the other bathroom.” Jake stated as he came out of the bathroom to let her wash up.
After washing up, Y/n flopped down on the bed to get some sleep. And after 10 minutes Jake opened his bedroom door to find Y/n fast asleep, making him chuckle.
“No wonder your brother loves you too much. Jay don’t worry, I’ll protect her no matter what.” Jake said quietly, pulling the blankets over Y/n’s body before he flopped himself beside her.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Today you were spending time with Donnie while he worked in front of his monitors. You liked it there much better than in his lab. He had a map of the city up with little marks indicating spots where the Foot had been spotted. But that wasn’t what he was working on right now.
No, you and Donnie were doing much more important things at the moment.
Like playing the new update in Stardew Valley.
“Fishing mods are cheating.”
You gawked at him in mock offense. “But you can’t pause in a multiplayer farm, there’s no time to play the fishing mini game!!”
“That’s why it’s more of a challenge!” He stuck his tongue out while he clicked his mouse rapidly to fight off a slime in the mines.
You pouted, adjusting the laptop in your lap. “I don’t need my cozy farming sim to be challenging…”
Donnie did not miss the cute grin that graced your face after, his heart fluttering in his chest.
These past few days you found yourself smiling more and more easily. Whether it was Mikey getting covered in flour while you baked cookies together, or Raph teaching you how to purl stitch, or Leo showing you how to wield a sword. You were enjoying spending more personal time with the turtles as you got to know them better.
Your toes curled where you were perched in the chair beside Donnie, glancing up at the map again. Your eyes always drawn to the blinking red dot marking the location of the lab you escaped only weeks before. The police had raided it and found it empty, which only increased your unease as to where Dr Stockman might be hiding. It already felt like a lifetime ago, that night when the turtles first found you.
You owed them your life.
“Hey (y/n), you almost ready for afternoon training?” Leo came over, snapping you out of your thoughts. Leo leaned against the back on Donnie’s chair, earning a dismissive swat from his younger brother.
“We’ll stop after we finish up this day, Leo.” Donnie said not even taking his eyes off the screen. You giggled and got back to fishing on the beach.
You were two hours into your training session with Leo.
“Okay, good. Now when you kick, focus on your balance. Stay firmly planted and your leg should have more power.” Leo coached you.
Master Splinter was supervising while sipping his tea. It had barely been 5 days since your mutant abilities had manifested. But you were already making astounding progress in unlocking its potential. Leonardo had played a big part in the process, being the one who had helped you work through your fears of using your mutant reflexes, so the abilities came more easily to you when training. He trained with you every day, while Master Splinter provided guidance. Everyone was doing their best to support you through all the changes.
Casey suddenly jogged in through the entrance of the lair.
“Guys! Just got word, the Foot are planning to rob a warehouse full of high tech weapons tonight. We gotta go intercept it.” He said waving around his cellphone.
“What? Where? Their communication frequency has been quiet since they moved those chemicals to the old Sacks building!” Donnie spun around in his chair to face Casey, you and Leo walking into the living room with Raph and Mikey close behind.
“Queens. Our contact in the Foot Clan leaked the info to us just half an hour ago.”
“Huh, that’s strange. That’s all the way on the other side of town. Aside from Sacks Tower, they’ve only really been active around the East Village and ChinaTown this past week. Maybe they changed their frequency again to throw us off track.” Donnie was quickly typing up info on his keyboard.
“Well, regardless, we better go check it out.” Leo sighed. He wanted to keep training with you, but it would have to wait.
“Heck yeah! I’m bringin’ the steak-out snacks. Who wants Doritos?” Mikey grabbed his ratty old Jansport backpack and started shoving cans of Orange Crush into it.
“(Y/n), you stay here and keep an eye on Donnie’s computer. The Foot might try to communicate about their raid tonight. Donnie’s program will intercept it. April will be here in about an hour, so just tell her if anything suspicious comes up.” Leo asked you.
“Right!” You said standing to attention and giving a military salute with a silly little grin on your face.
It made Leo’s heart melt in his chest and his expression turned soft.
“Just, stay safe, okay?” He patted you on the head then headed for the exit.
As the rest of the boys filed out of the lair, they each stopped by you. Mikey getting a high five, you quickly cleaned Donnie’s glasses for him, and Raph, always last, ducked down for a quick hug when his brothers weren’t looking. Casey rushed ahead of them.
Master Splinter waved goodbye to his sons next to you. Once the boys had left, he informed you he was going to go meditate, and to come find him if you needed anything.
About 45 minutes later, you were casually watching YouTube videos on Donnie’s computer when a flashing red light appeared on the screen. It was indicating that Donnie’s program was intercepting a message from the Foot’s closed communication server. A message popped up on the screen, and you gasped.
“We have captured the turtles. Continue with the plan.”
Then a video feed loaded up on the main screen.
Your blood ran cold.
It looked like the feed from a security camera, depicting Leo, Mikey, and Donnie all locked in glass cages, restrained with thin tubes of red connected to their arms. They looked weak, they looked bad.
“What….? No… No, not this… please no…!”
Where was Raphael? He was nowhere to be seen. How did they get captured so fast…? They had barely been gone an hour!
Your mind was racing. You recognized those machines. Dr Stockman used them to take blood samples from Bebop and Rocksteady. If that was the case, there was no time to lose.
You made up your mind.
You snuck past the dojo and muttered a quick apology to Master Splinter. You knew Master Splinter wouldn’t let you go, so you kept quiet. Then you grabbed the handheld GPS device Donnie left on his work table. You entered the location on the map where the message was sent from.
The old Sacks Tower.
Time to move.
April arrived at the lair much later than expected. She and Casey had just finished speaking to the commissioner about police activities being leaked to the Foot. When they entered the living room, they were confused to only see Master Splinter waiting for them. The old rat was pacing and anxiously stroking his beard.
“Splinter? Where’s (y/n)?” April asked, confused.
Splinter shook his head.
“You don’t know where they are?” April became concerned, walking further into the lair.
“It appears, that our greatest fears have been realized.” His expression deeply troubled. Before April could ask, she noticed what Splinter was looking at.
Playing in a loop on Donatello’s monitor was old CCTV footage from when the turtles had been captured 10 years ago by Shredder and Mr Sacks. April breathed a sigh of relief, immediately recognizing the scene.
“Splinter, the turtles are safe. I spoke to Leo on the phone only 10 minutes ago. They’re staking out a warehouse in Queens. This is old footage.”
Splinter’s eyes widened and looked back to the screen. His expression turned contemplative.
“If that is so, then perhaps Miss (y/n) has made the same mistake.” He spoke gravely.
April had a look of shock. She quickly pulled out her phone and speed dialed Leo’s number.
Leo thankfully answered quickly. “Hey April, anything new?”
“Leo, is (y/n) with you?”
Leo paused a long moment and sent a look over to his brothers, getting their attention. “No…. Aren’t they at the lair?” All of his brother's eyes were suddenly on him. Leo turned the phone on speaker.
“No!! They’re gone. And there’s a video playing on Donnie’s computer. It’s a recording of you Mikey and Donnie locked up at Sacks’ estate from over 10 years ago… I think this is what (y/n) saw before they left.”
“They left?” Leo felt his heart drop into his stomach. “To go where, Sacks’ estate?” His brothers immediately started packing up their stakeout equipment to leave.
“No I don’t think so, the sender’s location was tracked, it’s still on the screen. It says it was sent from Sack Tower in Times Square.”
Donnie came over and joined in the call, typing furiously at the keyboard on his wrist. “Sacks Tower. That’s where they were spotted smuggling those stolen chemicals into the other day…! From my notifications, it appears that the message was sent through an older Foot Clan communication frequency approximately 43 minutes ago.”
“Donnie, how long will it take (y/n) to get to Sacks Tower.”
“From my calculations, if (y/n) left the lair heading to the Sacks building about 40 minutes ago, going by subway, they should arrive in about uhhh, approximately 8 minutes.”
“And how long will it take us to get there.” Raph asked.
“From where we are now, if we manage to hitch a ride on the next nonstop train to Times Square…… about 1 and a half hours.”
“Shit!”
Raph cursed loudly and turned away frustrated, and Mikey put his hands on his head. Donnie was typing away at the keypad on his arm, trying to find any kind of faster route and muttering about how stupid he was for not making you a shellcell.
“We don’t have a minute to waste. Let’s move out.”
That’s all they needed to hear. Everyone sprung into action and booked it for the closest subway station manhole cover.
“April, we are headed to Sacks Tower as fast as we can. And get ahold of the police commissioner again. Whoever gave us the information to come to this warehouse tonight was intentionally planted with misinformation. There was no sign of the Foot at the warehouse. …..It was most likely a diversion.”
“Right. I’ll get back to you soon.”
Leo hung up the phone and jumped off the apartment building and dove down towards the street’s manhole cover.
Leo grit his teeth.
“Hold on (y/n).”
The halls of the building were eerily empty. This place made your skin crawl. The laboratory felt all too similar to the one you had been trapped in before. But this one had clearly been abandoned for a long time. Broken glass, graffiti, turned over chairs, scattered paper. But strangely the power was still on. You didn’t dare try to use the elevator in fear of giving away your position. But you were confused as to why you had yet to see any guards. This is where the message was sent from, the turtles had to be here, right?
You climbed the steps to another floor, but paused as you creaked open the door exiting the stairwell. This floor felt like a world apart from the previous ones. It was clean.
And the lights were on.
You kept low, and hyper vigilant. Steadying your breathing like Leo had taught you, you crept into the sterile white hallway. There were glass windows along the hall looking into different labs. One held chemistry equipment, another held big bulky medical equipment that clicked and beeped. Finally, the last room at the end of the hall, a room with no windows. You had a sinking feeling in your gut, but still you crept towards the door. Slowly and quietly you pulled open the heavy door, and revealed a large lit room with a high ceiling, and there you saw it.
“Guys….!”
There along the back wall were 4 glass boxes with 3 of the turtles strung up and being drained of blood. You had found them! Seeing no one else in the room, you rushed in.
“I’m going to get you out of here, just you wait!” You went to the first machine in front of Donnie and reached out to touch the screen-
Your hand passed right through.
“What…?” You tried to touch it again but there was nothing there.
The hologram distorted, and then the turtles disappeared. You gasped.
It was a trap.
You turned around to book it towards the exit, but the door was opening again. Bebop and Rocksteady squeezed through the small door one at a time, and blocked your exit. Then over an intercom you heard the familiar laugh that sent a shiver down your spine.
Stockman chuckled darkly. “Just how I planned it! Like catching a fly with honey. So predictable!”
You backed up slowly as Bebop and Rocksteady approached you.
“Did you miss us, little kitty?” Rocksteady sneered.
The intercom buzzed as Stockman spoke again. “Bebop, Rocksteady, keep them occupied until I arrive. I will be there momentarily. And let’s not have a repeat of last time, please!” There was a clicking sound and the intercom went quiet.
Bebop chuckled. “Hell yeah! It’s been so long since we last played! Let’s make the most of it.”
“That’s right! And we gotta pay you back for all the trouble you caused us! We missed you so much after you left. You wanna go first Beebs?”
“My man!” Bebop smiled at Rocksteady and clasped his hand, they both laughed.
You tried your best to steady your breathing like Leo taught you. Your hands were trembling. But you needed a way out. Bebop and Rocksteady were not fast, if you timed it right, maybe you can get past them to the door.
Bebop approached you. You stayed still and waited. Then when he got close enough, you ran right towards him, surprising Bebop. He reached out to grab you but you slid right between his legs, then jumped up behind him and tried to run past Rocksteady before he could react. He was still too close to you and managed to grab you from behind, but you were ready for him. Just like in training, you reached up and grabbed him around his neck, and taking a deep breath, you threw all your strength forward and down and managed to flip Rocksteady onto his back- stunning him. You quickly jumped over him and ran for the door, slamming into it fast and wretched the handle to pull it open.
Locked. (Warning for graphic depictions of torture ahead.)
“No…!” You felt a bruising grip close around your arm, and you were torn away from the door. “NO!!” You cried out as you were thrown hard onto the floor between the two oversized mutants.
“See? Now that’s your problem. You gotta go makin’ our job harder than it needs to be!” Bebop complained.
Rocksteady was picking himself back up, rubbing the back of his head tenderly. “Don’t let them get to ya Beebs, we’ll sort them out quick before Stockman gets here.” Bebop then reached into his pocket and pulled out an all too familiar black taser.
Rocksteady took the taser and chuckled. “Little kitty needs a check-up!”
You tried to get up and run, but Rocksteady stomped down hard on your left arm. There was a sickening snap and you screamed, writhing in pain. You were pinned.
“Tsk, tsk. You know what happens when kitty gets naughty!” The taser was flicked on, all you could do was close your eyes before a strong surge of electricity was shot into your ribcage and throughout your body. You convulsed as the shocks seized you, your shoulder getting dislocated from the spasms, then collapsed back on the floor.
“Just like good ol’ times!” Rocksteady passed the taser to Bebop.
Rocksteady laughed and removed his foot from your arm, then Bebop tased you in the ribs again. You yelped and rolled onto your stomach, tucking your very broken arm underneath you and tried to crawl away.
“Hey, where ya goin? We’re just getting STARTED!” Rocksteady punctuated his sentence by kicking you in the stomach hard enough to throw you across the room. You hit the ground and your body rolled another few feet until you stopped on your side and curled in on yourself, the air knocked out of your lungs.
Bebop took his time strolling over to you, and grabbed you by the hair to lift you up. You coughed and gasped for air, grabbing at his hand and tried to pry his fingers off of his grip.
“Think you can just up and leave whenever you want, do ya?” He growled in your ear, then dropped you down haphazardly to the floor. You were on your knees, buckled forward and holding your left shoulder, when suddenly Bebop’s foot stomped down on your right ankle and you heard a loud crunch.
You shrieked.
Exhausted and riddled with unbearable pain, you crippled to the floor. It took everything you had just to pull breath.
“Alright, I’m back! How is our lovely patient doing?” Came the cheerful sing-song voice of Dr Stockman entering the room through the locked door, Karai tailing behind him.
“Hey boss! Uhhh, we were just warming them up for ya! See? They can’t run away no more.” Bebop nudged your side with his foot, knocking you onto your side so Stockman could see the pain riddled on your face. You were barely conscious by this point.
“Excellent! Bring them to me.” Stockman ordered.
Bebop picked you up by your good arm and carried you over to where Dr Stockman was walking to in the back of the room. Karai stepped in Bebop’s way for a moment, taking in your beaten appearance, and back-handed your face hard for good measure, leaving a shiny bruise and angry red gash across your cheek. That woke you up a bit.
Just enough to retaliate.
You took a deep breath and tore your arm out of Bebop’s grasp and punched Karai in the stomach, hard enough to throw her into a large display screen next to where Stockman was standing. Stockman squawked in surprise. She rolled onto the floor, and pushed herself up onto her side. Spitting a bit of blood onto the ground and wiping away at her lip.
You tried to stand on your good leg but you were too weak and collapsed back to the floor. Bebop and Rocksteady grabbed you by each of your arms and brought you in front of Stockman.
He was looking at you in awe, and reached out tentatively to swipe at the blood on your cheek. He rushed over to his desk, jumping a bit in excitement. He put a drop of your blood onto a slide, and observed it under his microscope.
“Ha…! HA HA…! YES!!” Stockman shouted in excitement and did a little dance. Bebop and Rocksteady exchanged a confused look and Karai stood up and walked over to Stockman, eyeing you angrily and rolling her shoulder.
“What does this mean?” She questioned him.
“It means that the mutation was a SUCCESS!!! Those stupid turtles must have triggered it somehow. And now we can finally proceed with the plan!!!” He grabbed something off his desk and skipped over to the stairs leading up to the circular titanium base in the middle of the room. “Bring them here!!” He called over, waving his hand to Bebop and Rocksteady.
They dragged you over to Stockman, and were deposited on the round podium that sat under a large glass tube. Stockman started to pull down long rubber tubes from above, and attached large thick needles to the ends. You tried once again to crawl away with your good arm, as Bebop and Rocksteady retreated.
But Stockman approached you from behind. In a quick jab, he stabbed the two needled tubes deep into your back. You grunted and groaned in pain, but could do nothing, collapsing on the podium. Beaten, bruised, and bleeding.
When Dr Stockman was finished, he descended the stairs and rushed over to his computer, giggling excitedly he typed in a command and the glass tube descended over you until it clicked into place at the sturdy titanium base. Locking you inside.
“They’ll be placed in suspended animation. Once the tank is completely filled with the preservation fluid, they’ll become nothing more than a convenient blood bag, supplying an endless supply of mutagen for our mutant army.” Stockman rubbed his hands together evilly.
“And what about the turtles?” Karai asked.
“It is already too late for them to stop us. Even if they manage to get through your guards, they will be unable to free them from this tank. Once I start the filtration process, I will delete the programmed command to empty or release the containment cylinder. They won’t be able to free them without my help!” Stockman typed away quickly at his computer.
One of the tubes connected to your back began to pull blood from your body, leading up through a small opening in the top of the cylinder then down into a canister at the base. Then from the second tube, a white milky substance full of liquid nutrients began to filter through and down into your body. It did nothing to numb the pain you felt as you laid there in a state of half consciousness.
Suddenly, the loud banging of gunshots could be heard somewhere outside the door.
“We’re not ready yet! Hold them back!” Stockman ordered Bebop and Rocksteady, who positioned themselves between Stockman and the door.
The door suddenly blew wide open, and the four turtles rushed into the room, angry and weapons at the ready.
“Where’s (y/n).”

Police detective San
Genre: Angst, Horror, Drama, Fluff, Strangers to Lovers, Mature scenes and language
Words: 7.8k
You thought breaking up with your boyfriend would be simple. After six months together, four of them showed you how much of a psychopath a person can be. However, when you saw on the news that several women died with features similar to yours, you assumed it was a coincidence. When the first letter arrived in the mail, you knew you were screwed. The cops eventually became involved with your life. One detective, Choi San, was assigned to be your personal bodyguard. He was confident you were safe, but the darkest evil always finds its way into someone's home.
"I've told you about a thousand times, stop calling me! I don't know how you manage to reach my number over and over! Just stop it!"
I hung up the phone, again, and rubbed my tired eyes. It was 2 a.m. and I was severely stressed. My ex, Jaehyun, has been calling me for about a month now, trying to get back together with me. Never in a million years did I think we would end up in this position. It was almost perfect for about two months. We met randomly in a cafe when I spilled my drink on his shirt. After apologizing profusely, he told me I could make it up to him with a date, and I did just that.
We had it good, seeing each other almost every day, texting until the sun came up, going around and exploring various places... It all came to an end when he started changing. It was like he became a completely different person. There were times when I feared he would become violent, but luckily he managed to bang up almost every surface of mine and his apartment, instead of my face.
After I gently broke up with him, he seemed fine. How wrong of me to assume something like that. I haven't had a good night's rest in a while, and it was messing with my head all the time. I work as an assistant in a private language school, so my boss and the other teachers are a bit lenient with me. I'm lucky to have support in that area, otherwise I would be jobless as well. In all of my 27 years on this planet, I've never felt this afraid.
I became paranoid after the break up. I kept seeing shadows out of my second story window, but I blamed the lack of sleep for that. The misplaced items in my flat were also blamed on that, too.
I poured myself a glass of wine and sat on my couch. The TV was on, playing some kind of sitcom. I couldn't bring myself to laugh, even when I found the jokes funny. It became too depressing so I switched around the channels.
"...this is the second victim found in a similar position as the first one a week prior. It appears it was a woman in her late twenties, with her long hair cut short, eyes gouged out. The missing hair and eyeballs are yet to be found..."
Now that was creepy. What kind of freak takes someone's eyes out? I remember Jaehyun saying the eyes are mirrors to one's soul, and mine were his favorite ones. My eye colour changes in the sun, so he loved taking pictures of my eyes when we were outside. Funny how that came to me while listening to this tragedy.
I twirled around a strand of my hair. Jaehyun always told me I should get a haircut, to make myself more mature. I loved my luscious locks, I've taken good care of them over the years.
I shook my head. Why was I thinking about this now? Maybe it was the wine affecting me. I should really stop drinking so late. With another long sign I grabbed the remote to turn the TV off when an image flashed on the screen. It was a picture of the latest victim, followed by the previous one.
My breath got caught in my throat.
The two pictured were side by side, and if I turned my head to the left I would see my graduation picture framed by the TV.
The resemblance between the three of us was astonishing. But that was only a coincidence, right? There is no way...
I shook my head and plugged the TV out of the wall. I wasn't taking any risks now. I speed-walked to my bedroom and shut the door, locking it as well.
There goes another sleepless night for me.
.
.
"Good morning Mrs Jung, how are you today?"
"Oh, good morning dear! You know me, my old bones are giving me a hard time."
I smiled at my elderly neighbour. Mrs Jung was widowed last May, but she's been a fighter ever since. I love meeting her in the morning when I pick up my mail from downstairs.
She waved at me and went out, probably to buy some more cat food for Simon.
I looked through my mail as I went up the stairs and noticed the usual. Phone bill, electricity bill, magazine subscription... I paused on the steps when I reached a black envelope. It was smooth, almost like it was made of suede. What in the world?
I ran to my apartment and threw the other bills on the counter. I ripped the top of the envelope and found a note inside.
My blood ran cold as I read the familiar handwriting.
"Dear, beloved, worshipped Y/N,
Long time no see baby! I've been missing you this whole time! But, you see, I've found a way to look into your gorgeous eyes again. It may be unconventional, but it works. Those two ladies have nothing on you though. I want you to know that.
Y/N, you're the one baby. And I believe you are going to do the right thing and submit yourself to me soon, unless you want more innocent girls to go missing.
I don't want to bore you with details, this is not why I'm writing to you.
You look amazing baby, even better than before. The view from your window is gorgeous.
You'll find a way to contact me, right? You'll make this work? You better do Y/N. If you know what's right for this world.
                                                 Yours truly, J. "
Oh my God. Oh my God!
My hands started shaking like crazy and I dropped the letter on the counter. I think I was about to pass out before I hit the wall behind me. I slowly slid down to the cold kitchen floor and covered my ears. This has been my panic response since I was a child. I tried to tune out everything to keep myself calm, but I couldn't.
This lunatic was going around murdering girls that reminded him of me? What on Earth was I supposed to do now?
I felt myself spiraling even more. There were telltale signs of a panic attack coming in. I haven't had one of those for months. I knew I had to stop it before it got even worse, so I crawled towards the freezer and got out an ice pack. The shock of the cold pack on my legs and arms brought me back to reality. It was enough for me to grab my phone and dial the police.
"Seoul Police Station, how can I help you?"
"I need to report a potential murderer."
.
.
"So, miss Y/N, this will be the agenda from now on. You will be escorted at all times, knowing the killer is infatuated with you we believe he will try to strike you down sooner rather than later. Our detectives are working on locating him, but in the meantime your life will stay the same as always. He can't notice something is off about you."
I nodded and waited for him to continue.
"It will be suspicious to have our detective in uniform trailing behind you everyday, so we have to make it look like you two know each other on a more personal level. Mr Choi is the best detective we have in our station, and he has gladly accepted the job."
I was like a broken doll at this point, only nodding and staring straight ahead.
For the past two days since my phone call, I've been in and out of the station. We've established that the letter was sent by Jaehyun, since he wasn't careful about leaving his fingerprints. He wanted everybody to know it was him. He was connected to the killings and there was a warrant for his arrest. The media wasn't notified yet, because my life would be endangered even more if they put me in the spotlight.
I was nervous about meeting this detective, who was going to become my live-in boyfriend. Officer Jung saw how nervous I was so he told me to wait in the room. He was going out to get my new boyfriend.
After a while, the door to Mr Jung's office opened. I expected him to walk in as well, but when I turned around my mouth almost hit the floor.
He was beyond gorgeous.
The man lifted his hand in a wave and smiled.
"Hi there. Y/N, right? My name is Choi San. I'm your new bodyguard of sorts."
I slowly stood up and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Yeah... I'm Y/N. My ex is the psycho killer. Sorry, that was a really bad introduction."
San chuckled and closed the door.
"I know this isn't very convenient for you, and it will probably be messy, but it's for your own good. I will try to be the best fake boyfriend I can. I'm not messy, I clean up after myself and I make a killer lasagna. So, all in all, I think we'll do just fine."
I smiled lightly and nodded.
"I guess so. I'm sorry about all of this... I kind of feel it's my fault. If I hadn't broken up with him then maybe he wouldn't have done all of this."
San stepped closer to me and shook his head.
"Hey now, stop that. You aren't responsible for someone's bad decisions. The guy is sick in the head and who knows, maybe you would have been his first victim. It's not going to be easy, but I promise you, I will do everything in my power to protect you. You have my word Y/N."
We looked into each other's eyes and I think I stopped breathing for a second. San's gaze was intense, and I felt like he was looking right into my soul.
"I must admit, you do have pretty eyes."
I froze for a second and San noticed my rigid posture.
"Sorry, that was tasteless of me. Too soon I assume?"
I nodded slowly.
"Yeah... It's fine. Thank you."
We went back to staring at each other when the door opened again. Officer Jung walked in with a stack of papers.
"So, I take it you kiddos introduced yourselves. Now, let's go over the plan once more, shall we?"
.
.
"You can put your bag in the spare closet down the hall, it will fit all of your clothes as well. I bought you some new towels and a toothbrush for some reason, even though you probably have your own. There is a guest room across from mine, I put a mattress in there because I usually use it as a home office, so I don't have another bed. I hope that's not a problem. I guess some nights you might want to sleep in my bed, it's only fair."
San came with his things a couple of days later, ready to start this whole journey of catching my psycho killer ex. How my life became a blockbuster, I have no idea, but it is what it is. He set down his bags beside my couch and looked around.
"Nice place. I like the whole vibe, it's homey. And, Y/N, you do realise we have to sleep together?"
My eyes widened just as his did.
"No, no. I didn't mean it like that. Sorry. We have to sleep in the same bed, together. That's what I meant."
I nodded and waved him off.
"Yeah, yeah, I got that. But why?"
I was a bit nervous to share a bed with a complete stranger. After everything happened with Jaehyun, finding another man wasn't on my agenda. I suppose this was a completely different situation.
"I have to be next to you to make sure you are safe. Besides that, we have to be convincing. If he is watching you, he will notice my absence in normal, relationship things, so we have to make sure it looks like the real deal. I'm sorry, hopefully it won't last long. My sole purpose is to make sure you are safe, and that bastard gets locked up in the end."
I nodded in understanding. I knew San was right, so I had to suck it up and share a bed with him.
"Okay, but I'm on the left side because I've always slept there, no negotiation."
He chuckled and picked up his bags.
"No problem, I prefer the right side actually. I'm gonna go put these away and then we can sit and talk this through one more time."
"Do you want some coffee? Or tea?"
"Coffee would be great, thanks."
I went to make us two cups of coffee while he unpacked his stuff. After I poured us some much needed caffeine, I put the cups on the living room table and sat on the couch. I always have a blanket draped over the seats, so I pulled it over my legs. I could hear him rummaging around, and after about 15 minutes he joined me on the couch.
San was an attractive man, that much I could notice. He had this calm aura around him, which made me wonder how he got into this world of crime and murders.
"You know, if you want to ask me something, you can. I can feel you staring at me."
Good God. My cheeks flared up and I took a sip of my coffee to collect myself.
"Sorry. It's a bad habit. I was just wondering... How come you decided to be a detective? I assume this job can't bring you any good memories. I work as a teacher's assistant. The job brought me more joy than anything else in the world. I can't imagine..."
San could tell I was struggling to come up with a way to ask him about his job, so he stepped in to help.
"Hey, I get it. This line of work isn't for everybody. You see horrible things, but at the same time, you are the one stopping them from happening. My dad used to be a cop in our small town, but then he got shot. Drug arrest gone wrong. His shoulder never recovered, so he had to retire. He owns a taekwondo studio now. I trained there before I went to the academy. I think part of me does this job because of him. I never imagined they would promote me to be a detective, but I've always had a knack for solving the unsolvable. So, here I am now."
Impressive. San looked about my age, so becoming a detective this young had to be a huge accomplishment in his life.
"That's... Wow. Good for you. But how do you handle all of this?"
He took a sip of his coffee before answering.
"I guess you get used to it. We are trained by a psychiatrist on how to handle these tough situations. Yes, we solve cases and save people, but there comes a time when you can't be faster than your enemy. These killers and stalkers are smart, at times smarter than us. You have to calculate their steps even better than they do. Thinking one step ahead has saved so many people. Other times, it goes to show that we are still human, and we can't predict every step they take."
I shivered and pulled my legs closer to my chest. Is he saying that as a warning? That maybe...
"Hey now, I can feel you overthinking. We've got this in the bag. That bastard won't take a single step into this apartment. Not one step close to you. I won't allow it Y/N. You're safe with me."
I looked at San and took a deep breath. The determination on his face was unmistakable. He wanted Jaehyun to be locked up, and so did I.
"Thank you, San. I know that, and I do trust you. It's just hard. I never imagined myself in this situation. And those poor women... I can't help feeling a bit guilty."
He shook his head and put his cup on the table, turning towards me fully.
"You can't be responsible for someone's actions. This is solely his doing. He didn't have to do this, but he chose to. You can't read his mind, and you can't predict these things. He's a lunatic, and you are lucky you escaped on time. Let me tell you something about his character. He's doing this without thinking it through. That's good for us because we can gather evidence to lock him up for good once he's caught. It seems like he wants to be caught, but he has to get to you before that. This is where I come in. Once he's vulnerable, he's mine and no one else's."
"Do you think... He wants me dead?"
San sighed and took one of my hands in his. My eyes widened slightly, but I didn't pull away. It felt nice. His touch was warm, and it felt sincere.
"He wants you, that much is fact. I don't think he particularly wants you dead, but he isn't sane enough to make that decision. He may want you beside him, but one rash move and you're gone. I'm telling you again, that won't happen, and I want you to try not to think in that direction."
He gently squeezed my hand before letting go. He stood up and stretched. His white shirt went up and I could see the outline of his hard abs. The man was going to be the death of me if I continued slobbering over him like this.
"I'm gonna go take a shower, you put on a cartoon to pump up your mood a bit. I know The Powerpuff Girls are on Channel Three. Don't ask how I know that, it's embarrassing."
I could see his cheeks becoming a bit pink and he all but ran to the bathroom.
Tough detective San watching the Powerpuff Girls? I bet Bubbles is his favorite.
With a laugh, I turned on the TV to search for Channel Three, but I was abruptly cut off by the News Station. I wish I wasn't.
"...the body was found behind a bar, eyes gauged out like the previous two victims. Everything points to the same perpetrator. Police are on the scene, carefully directing people away from the alley. This is the third woman found in a month, and the killer left a message next to her. In what we assume was the victim's blood, there was the number '12' hastily written on the pavement..."
Twelve. As the number on my apartment door.
"Hey Y/N, where did you say the towels were? In the closet or..."
San stopped talking when he saw my frightened expression, the grip on my TV remote and my wide eyes. He looked at the TV and realised what was going on. He walked up to me, turned the TV off and pulled me up.
"Y/N, listen to me carefully. Go into your bedroom and find me a blue hair clip. Do you have something like that?"
I nodded. A blue hair clip? What does he want with that?
"Okay, can you answer me in words?"
"I... Yes. I have one."
"Good girl. Now, go find it."
I felt like my body went into autopilot. I rushed to my bedroom and sat by my vanity. I could see my expression in the big mirror. I looked terrified. But I couldn't dwell on that too much, because I had to find the hair clip. After rummaging around my bags, I pulled out a tiny blue butterfly clip. I forgot I had this, it must be ancient. I felt relieved as I stood up to go take it to San.
Just as I turned around I saw him leaning on the doorframe of my bedroom.
"Feeling better now?"
Huh? I guess I do feel...
"Wait. This was some kind of tactic?"
He smiled and nodded.
"I had to distract you. It's best to put a person into a completely different situation so that your brain focuses on something else. I don't know why I came up with the hair clip, but I had to think of something. You were going into a panic attack it seems?"
I reached out my hand and placed the clip into his open palm. He twirled it around while looking at me.
"Yeah... Ever since this whole thing started they've been coming and going. I can manage them sometimes, but this one was tough. He wrote my apartment number next to that poor woman, San. He's insane."
San put the clip in his jean pocket and placed his hands on my shoulders.
"Y/N, we're going to get him, I promise. Please, go get some rest. I'm gonna take that shower now and I'll be in bed soon. Make yourself comfortable, and leave the right side free, will you?"
I chuckled and nodded.
"I sleep on the left, remember?"
.
.
"So this lock has a code system, and it has to have four digits. Think of something you won't forget easily, but at the same time, it has to be something Jaehyun doesn't know."
San was installing my new lock, and I was trying to be helpful by holding the flashlight over his head. Last night was... Interesting to say the least. I knocked out before he came out of the bathroom, so I spared myself of the embarrassment of our first night together. However, when I opened my eyes in the morning, I could feel his arm draped around my stomach, holding me. I wiggled out quietly and kept silent when he asked me if everything was okay during the night.
I didn't want to make him heel awkward, I could do that for the both of us.
After breakfast, we went down to a hardware store to buy another lock and key. San already had the security system, so we've been at it for some time now.
"When is your birthday?"
He turned towards me and quirked an eyebrow.
"My birthday?"
I nodded and turned off the flashlight.
"That's something he won't know for sure. I mean, he doesn't even know your name so it's the only logical option."
"You think you'll remember it?" He smirked and stood up. He towered over me, and in the small hallway space, I felt like he was a step away from pushing me against the wall.
"If my life depends on it, I think I will."
I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked into his eyes. We stared at each other for some time before his phone rang.
"I have to take that, you punch in the code three times. It's 1007."
With that, he looked me up and down again before disappearing into the bedroom to take the call.
I felt like I could breathe again. After entering the code, I locked the door and went into the kitchen for some water. San was taking a long time with the call, so I assumed it was important. Judging by his expression when he came out, it only confirmed my suspicion.
"That was officer Jung. I need to go down to the station. Jaehyun left a message in front of the station. I think he's onto us, but I could be wrong. It may be a warning to the police."
He looked at the floor and took a deep breath.
"Well... What did he leave? Was it like the letter he sent me? Did he do something like that?"
"Ah... I don't think you want to know."
I pushed myself to walk right in front of him.
"Tell me. I need to know."
San looked into my eyes, an apologetic expression marring his face.
"He sent them a pair of eyeballs. They don't know if it's another victim, or one of the older ones. He said the eyes weren't of use to him anymore, but he wanted to keep the rest for now."
I think I'm about to puke my lunch out. I closed my eyes and put my hands over my ears. This was not the time for a panic attack. Before long, I felt San's hands go over mine. The additional weight brought me a sense of relief. I opened my eyes to look into his concerned ones.
"Don't worry, you don't have to make me look for blue hair clips, I've got this one." He smiled and put his hands down.
"So I assume they want you to look into it?" He nodded.
"Yeah. Are you okay with being alone? I know the sun is about to set, but I'll try not to take long."
"It's fine. This is your job after all. Go, the faster you leave, the quicker you'll come back." With a final nod, he went to the door, put on a jacket and his shoes and turned towards me.
"Be safe. I'll call you when I'm on the way back." I waved him off.
"Yeah, yeah. Go be a detective." He smiled and out he went.
It was a bit creepy after he left. I couldn't shake off the weird feeling of being watched, but I knew I was safe in my newly equipped apartment. I noticed the stack of papers on my kitchen counter. I haven't looked into my mail all day. San was the one who brought it up, but we didn't go through it since his hands were already full.
I sorted out my bills and pamphlets when I reached another black, almost suede, envelope.
This has to be a joke.
With a sigh, I opened up the second letter.
"My dear Y/N,
I'm a bit angry with you. We are separated for only a month, and now someone is moving in with you? Are you that desperate? He isn't even that handsome, but I couldn't really tell. He better watch out though. I don't like sharing what's mine.
I can't wait to be with you again baby. I've missed looking into your eyes terribly. Those other ladies don't stand a chance against you.
Why don't you write me back? You know my address. It's true that I don't spend time there anymore, but I'll check for your response for sure.
Take care baby, we'll meet again soon.
                                                                With love, J."
.
.
"So we know he is lurking around the neighborhood, but we can't tell his exact location. He's moving around too much, but the bastard knows how to hide."
Officer Jung was a man in his late forties, married for twenty years with a son and daughter. He's been in the police force since he was twenty-one, but he's never had a case like this. Jaehyun was a dirty bastard, and he was as sly as a snake. He was giving them a hard time, but there wasn't a crime Officer Jung wasn't able to solve.
San admired his determination. He was like a role model to him, as his parents live in the countryside and he doesn't see them as often. It seems like this case was affecting Mr Jung more than any other. San could say the same thing. In the small amount of time he's spent with you, he could tell you were a lovely person. You just had this spark following you, a pep in your step without even noticing, and your eyes were truly incredible. He was afraid of getting attached to you too soon, but he couldn't stop it even if he tried.
"Y/N called me. He's left another letter for her. He knows I'm with her. He's directly threatening me, but he doesn't seem to know I'm working for the police."
Officer Jung nodded.
"That's good. We'll keep it that way. That poor girl must be frightened. You're free to go, son. Go take care of Miss Y/N. I assume you two have become acquainted?" He had a small smirk, and a suggestive wink told San all he needed to know.
"Officer, with all due respect, we aren't in an ideal situation to be talking like that. I'm doing everything I can to make Y/N feel at ease, but it doesn't seem to be working."
"I get that boy, but you have to understand the poor lady. She's a direct target. Go home and make sure she knows we're catching this bastard."
San shook hands with Mr Jung and made his way outside to his car. The Sun had set an hour ago and he knew Y/N was probably wondering where he was.
Never has he felt such a strong attraction towards someone as he does with her. From the moment he laid eyes on her he knew he was screwed. Now he was terrified of what could happen. Without taking his eyes off the road he dialed her number. After two rings her angelic voice answered.
"Hey San. Are you coming back?" I'm speeding back, doll.
He held it in and replied calmly.
"Yeah, sorry about that. We had to have a meeting. But I'm gonna be there in about 15 minutes, so hold on tight. You did a good job today, staying alone." She chuckled, and it made San smile.
"Well I didn't have much of a choice. I cooked dinner in the meantime. I heard you make a killer lasagna? Well, I think you might have some competition buddy."
"We'll see about that. Do you need me to pick up anything on the way?"
"No! I mean... No. Just come home, I'm at my maximum here."
Home. He hasn't heard that one in a while. It sounded nice coming from her.
"Don't worry, I'm coming as fast as I can. Cut me the biggest piece of lasagna you can." Y/N chuckled and cleared her throat.
"Coming right up sir!" She hung up the phone without knowing how much of an impact her simple words had on San.
Boy, was he in trouble.
.
.
A week has passed by without trouble. No new murders on the news, no letters, no calls from the station. Everything seemed to be going just fine.
Except the sheet amount of sexual tension between herself and San.
It was undeniable. Every time he passed by her in the kitchen to grab something he would put his hand on her hip. When she walked into the bathroom, he was just about to exit, towel wrapped around his waist, water dripping down his hard chest. The heat was on as the weather got colder, and she was walking around in tiny shorts which made San blush every time she bent down to pick something up.
The fleeting glances, the not so subtle touches, the rosy cheeks every time they are beside each other in bed... It all came to a culmination one Saturday morning.
San was always looking for something to hug while he slept. After your first night together you brought a pillow for him to embrace. This time, neither one of you even thought about bringing that stupid pillow to bed.
During the night, you two naturally gravitate towards each other. In the morning, while the sun tried to pry its way into the room through your blinds, San had his arms wrapped around you from behind. You woke up first, feeling hot all over. Your thin shorts weren't a big enough barrier between your ass and his rock hard length.
You were at an impasse. Do you wiggle out of bed and pretend like nothing happened, or, do you let yourself be caught in his embrace and finally give into the desire you two feel for each other? It seems like San was ready to answer the question for you.
You could feel his strong arms tightening around your mid section, his big palm caressing your stomach. You could hear him letting out a big sigh.
"Y/N... Are you awake?"
You could never get enough of his morning voice.
"Yeah..."
"Y/N, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but... If you don't stop moving around I won't be able to control myself."
Without answering, you slowly moved your hips over his hard-on. San grunted and you were on your back in a second. He was hovering above you, his angelic face illuminated by the morning light.
"You're really asking for trouble, you know?" You lifted your brow.
"Me? You're the one running your hands all over me." He laughed and laid his head on your chest, putting his arms around you again. He was like a big cat, invading your space with his warmth.
"You're going to get me in so much trouble." His voice was a bit muffled with his face squashed between your breasts.
"Hey, you're the one feeling me up."
"I told you I can't control that! Besides, you are too soft to resist."
"So what are we going to do about that?"
He lifted his head and placed his chin on my chest before looking into my eyes. I could see him contemplating.
"Listen, I think we are both on the same page here. However, my priority right now is your safety. Maybe when this is all over, we could go on an actual date? I think that would be nice, you know?"
He wants to take me out?
"Really? You want to go on a date with me?"
"And why is that so hard to believe?" I shrugged and started playing with his hair. He looked like he would melt in a second.
"I don't know, it's all so messed up. Maybe you don't want anything to do with me after this is over."
"That's not going to happen. I like you, Y/N. I want you, it's ridiculous how much. I just don't want to compromise your safety for my selfish desires." I nodded and placed a gentle kiss on his head. His blinked and pulled himself up on his forearms.
"You know, maybe we could break my rules, just this once." My brow furrowed.
"What do you mean?"
San smiled and got closer, our noses almost touching.
"Say, Y/N... Have you ever made out with a police officer?"
I giggled. "No, I can't say I did. Why?"
"Well... Would you want to?"
I bit my lip and nodded. Why the hell not?
"Good to know."
And just like that, his lips were on mine.
The kiss was more passionate than I could have expected. San was going slow, but as time went by, we picked up the pace. Our hands were exploring every inch of our bodies. My legs were firm around his waist, with his tangled in my hair.
We rolled around the bed, laughing in between kisses. After what felt like an hour, or more, we finally stopped to catch our breaths.
"That was... Wow." I laughed again.
"Yeah, wow. But San..." He turned to look at me.
"What's wrong?"
"I thought you were a detective, not an officer?"
"Oh, yeah... Well, you just made out with a police detective. You can cross it on your bucket list."
I couldn't help the giggles, and San joined me. We naturally gravitated towards each other again and, soon enough, we got lost in each other's lips.
What we didn't know at the time was that a pair of dark eyes was watching everything from the building across the street.
.
.
The morning went by quickly. San and I didn't leave the bed for a good two hours, rolling around, laughing, talking, kissing... There was so much kissing it kind of makes me dizzy thinking about it.
When we finally decided to get up, we got a call from officer Jung. He was concerned about the silence on Jaehyun's end, but they didn't have anything new on him. I could see it was affecting San, but he tried acting tough in front of me. After the call ended, we decided to lounge around all day.
By nine o'clock, we were hungry and exhausted from all of the kissing we were doing.
"I don't feel like cooking really. I think I want to melt into this couch if I'm being honest." San chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"I get you, but we do have to eat. Do you want me to go to that pizza place down the street? We can order and I can pick it up. I know the delivery driver creeps you out."
I shivered a bit. "Yeah, he always tries to look down my top. You wouldn't mind doing that?"
He caressed my cheek before pinching it.
"For you? Not at all. Let me call them and I'll be on my way."
After placing the order, San put on his jacket and shoes and kissed me again.
"I will never get enough of this." I smiled and gave him another peck.
"Nor will I. Go now before I starve."
He laughed and went out. He didn't bring his car keys, but I knew there was no need, as the place was literally down the street. I heard the lock click and I pushed the button to activate the alarm. Funny, it always glows red when it's on, but now it wasn't shining. Maybe the batteries weren't good anymore? I'll have to tell San when he comes back.
I went into the kitchen to take out some plates and cups. I looked around for candles to make it more romantic, but only found one.
"Guess this will do."
After setting everything up on my living room table I went to my bedroom to put on something nice. I know I don't have to try, but I felt like San deserved it.
I was about to pull my shirt over my head when I heard the door clicking. It's been about ten minutes since San left, he couldn't be back so soon?
"San? Is that you?"
There was no response to my question. It was eerily silent.
I was just about to turn around when I saw him.
The reflection in my vanity mirror.
"Hey there baby. How have you been?"
"Jaehyun?"
.
.
San was practically skipping towards the pizza joint down the street. His day couldn't be any better. Not only did he kiss the most beautiful woman in the world, he was certain she felt the same as he did about their connection. When this whole mess becomes history, he will take her on the best date of her life. She deserved nothing less.
Once he reached the family owned business, he told them his name and order number and they quickly packed it up for him.
He must have been gone for about 20 minutes when his phone rang in his pocket.
"Officer Jung? Is everything okay?"
Why was the old man calling him on a Saturday night?
"San! My boy! We have a big problem! Where are you? Is Y/N there?"
"Woah, hold up. She's not with me, I left her at home to pick up our dinner? What's going on?" Mr Jung was awfully quiet on the other end.
"Mr Jung?"
"San... You need to run back as fast as you can. He called the station, he's going to do something to her tonight. I've already sent out a patrole, they are coming as fast as they can. There was an accident on the bridge tonight, they have go take a detour. San, my boy, run and save the poor girl."
San's blood ran cold instantly. How could he have been so foolish? He left her, all alone, with a serial killer out to get her. He threw away the pizza box and sprinted down the street.
He could only pray go get there before something terrible happened.
.
.
"Jaehyun... Please... You don't want to do this."
He stepped into the room and closed the door.
"Do what baby? I'm here to take what's mine. Do you know how hard it was watching you with that loser? He even made you change your locks so I couldn't get in! But I found a way, I always do!"
He kept stalking towards me until I was backed up against my vanity table.
"Do you have any idea how much I've missed your eyes baby? Your beautiful, warm, stunning eyes..."
"Please, I don't want to die."
He put his hands on my cheeks.
"No, no, no... Baby, don't worry about that. I mean you have to die, but not yet. I have to make up for lost time, you know?"
I slowly grabbed my eyeliner pencil from the table, trying to be as discreet as possible.
"Yeah, I think I get it... How do you want to make up for it?"
He seemed to lighten up at my fake enthusiasm, and he put his hands down, but he didn't step away.
"I knew you'd come around baby. Well, we have all night to decide once you come with me. We can't do anything here, your bed is filthy from that idiot sleeping in it."
Just as he was about to kiss me, I jammed the pencil into his eyeball.
He screamed and I pushed him out of my way, running towards the door.
"You bitch! I'm gonna fucking kill you! Oh, you're in for it now Y/N!"
I opened the bedroom door and I almost made it to the front of my apartment before he tackled me to the ground.
"Not so fast you slut. You think you can run away from me? Think again, you bitch."
I struggled underneath his weight, trying to push him off with my legs. He was too strong for me.
"Let me go, please! Please, you don't want to do this!"
"Shut up!" He smacked me right across the mouth, and I could taste blood on my lips.
In the midst of my struggle, San appeared before my eyes. Poor San... He was going to be devastated.
I was about to give up when I heard the sound of my door being broken down.
"Well, well... Isn't that the bastard himself?"
"Get the fuck of off her before I put a bullet between your eyes."
I looked up and I couldn't help but fear the expression on San's face. He looked dark, and the gun in his hands wasn't helping.
Suddenly, Jaehyun pulled me up and put his arm around my midsection. He had a pocket knife in his other hands, aimed straight at my throat.
"Listen up pretty boy. One wrong move and her blood will be all over the walls. You know what I hate about you bastards? You come in in the worst possible moments. We were just about to run away and have the time of our lives, isn't that right baby?"
He caressed my throat with the knife and I could see San struggling to keep himself composed. He cleared his throat.
"You think I care about her? I'm just a detective waiting to put cuffs on your hands boy, nothing else. This was all an act, and you fell for it easily. Honestly, you call yourself a killer? Pathetic."
I knew San didn't mean any of those words, but it hurt hearing him say them out loud.
"Jaehyun, baby... You need to let me go. I made a mistake in the bedroom, that wasn't nice of me. But I got scared, you know? Please baby..." San was looking into my eyes as I started pleading with Jaehyun.
My ex was slowly loosing his grip on me. I could hear his breathing becoming laboured.
"You really mean that baby? Wanna come with me now?"
I nodded slowly. "Yeah, yes. I'll come with you."
He slowly lowered the knife, but he stopped suddenly.
"You think I'm that stupid you bitch? You're gonna get it now, and Loverboy will have front row tickets."
I closed my eyes waiting for him to push the knife into my throat when a loud bang rang through my ears.
A bullet whizzed past my ear and right into Jaehyun's head.
If San didn't grab me I would have gone to the ground along with Jaehyun.
I let out a yelp.
Everything went dark for a moment.
"Y/N! Come on baby girl, come back to me."
I opened my eyes and stared straight into San's. I could see my living room ceiling. We were still inside?
"What happened?"
He sighed in relief. "You scared the hell out of me."
He pulled me up into a hug and that's when I saw it.
Jaehyun's lifeless body sprawled all over my living room floor.
"Oh my God... San... Is he?"
"Yeah, he is. I'm sorry Y/N, but he was about to stab you. I couldn't let that happen." I looked up at San and threw my arms around him. I squeezed his shoulders like my life depended on it.
"Thank you. Thank you so much. You kept me safe. You did it."
I could feel him caressing my hair and kissing the top on my head.
"Always baby girl, I'd do anything for you."
We could hear the sirens finally blasting from outside. In no time, my apartment was full of police officers, AMTs and a forensic unit. They had to take care of Jaehyun's body.
Officer Jung walked in as well.
"Y/N! San, my boy! Oh thank God!" He threw his arms around us.
"Hey Mr Jung..." He jabbed San in the forehead.
"Thank God you were one of the best shooters in your class. Nobody could have pulled this off besides you. I'm proud of you."
Mr Jung helped us stand up and took us outside of the building. San didn't want to leave my side even when another policeman came to take out statements.
Soon enough, we were sitting on the steps of my building, a blanket around our shoulders. We watched as a black van drove away with Jaehyun's body inside. It felt surreal.
"You know everything is going to be okay now, right?"
I looked at him and admired his manly features. I nodded.
"I know... I have you by my side now, if we are still on for that date?"
San smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Hell yes we are."

A police car pulled up in front of you as you waited outside Seattle-Tacoma International. To think, only four months ago you were trying to purchase plane tickets for spring break. Only you wanted to go to New York with the rest of your classmates. The last place you were ever thinking of was Washington. The state, not even D.C.
And more importantly not Forks, Washington. But you promised your mom that you could handle this. The only thing worse than that small town for the entire year was traveling so much you might as well be homeschooled. When your mom remarried her now husband, Phil, he played baseball for the Phoenix team.
Phil’s good but he wasn’t good enough to be traded around. You thought your whole life would be Arizona. Until Florida called. And your sweet stepfather and lovingly erratic mother packed up everything before suddenly remembering you had school. So moving to Forks had been a you decision but you're not sure how good of a decision that was.
The car in front of you rolled down its window until you could see your dad. Charlie flashed a smile that you struggled to return. He’s great. You've spent every single summer with him and almost every one of those summers was in Forks.
But two months is a lot different from the entire school year. You knew only a few people that would be going to Forks High School. A pang hit your heart when you thought about your friends again. You guys promised to call but you'd probably fall out of each other’s lives anyway. But you tried to smile once more, putting your suitcases in the back of the police car and pulling on a thick wool sweater over your shirt and overalls.
As soon as you slid into the passenger seat, it started to rain — a stark reminder that this wasn’t Phoenix.
You could feel Charlie’s head keep turning to the side to look at you. Like your dad in more ways than one, the start to small talk was awkward for you. The two of you went back and forth in a silent dance until Charlie saved you from speaking about the weather.
“Your hair has gotten longer.”
You grabbed a piece of your now shoulder length hair. Two years ago, in the spur of the moment, you had shaved your head to start over. It was the moment after that you decided you would never do that again. Charlie had to suffer the period of you not being able to look at yourself in the mirror. You looked like an egg. It took dedication but your hair was now long and damage free.
“Yeah, I’ve tried to stop using heat completely. Except the blow dryer.”
While starting small talk might have been difficult, once Charlie and you were talking no one could get you to stop. The conversation was still going as the car passed the ‘Welcome to Forks’ sign that should have read population: too damn small instead of an actual number — and even when we got out of the car and into the house. Your room wasn’t terribly different from other summers but you noticed drawers and wardrobes that weren’t there before. You guessed when one permanently moves they suddenly need storage for their things. Charlie even cleared more bathroom space.
That was probably the one thing you hated about this house. One bathroom. Someone should have slapped the architect that ever suggested this… and then slap the builder that followed through anyway.
You only unpacked the bare essentials for the next week or so. The rest could be slowly unpacked as time went on. Charlie helped for a few hours before doing his shuffle he does whenever he’s uncomfortable. All he could say was okay before leaving the room.
Even though you two can talk for hours, he’s still awkward to his core. You supposed that you should be happy as a teenager that he doesn’t hover. He never has. You used to think it was because being a cop made him busy all the time and he just developed the habit. As the years went on, it became more apparent that it was just his personality.
A car honk right outside the window caught your attention. You looked through the glass to see an orange pickup truck and some of the only two faces in town that were familiar to you. Your feet carried you out the door before you were even aware until you crashed right into a boy with hair longer than yours, roughly your height, and only a few months younger in age.
“Woah, Y/N/N, slow down before you hurt yourself. You know you can't be trusted on your own two feet. I'm surprised you're still standing right now or is it just because I'm holding you up.” Jacob said as he gave you a smile.
“Whatever, dick."
"Whoa, Y/F/N. Language when you're standing right in front of me," Dad interjected but he didn't look that offended.
"Sorry... Hi, Billy.”
“Hi, Y/N. Glad you’re back and here to stay. Charlie wouldn’t shut up about it since you told him.”
Your dad rolled his eyes. “Keep talking and I’ll roll that wheelchair right into the middle of the road.”
“Not before I ram you in the ankles.”
You and Jacob’s dads abandoned you to play fight in the road. You couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.
“I’m glad to see they’re still behaving like that.”
“Oh, yeah. Days go by and nothing’s different. It's getting worse with old age actually, I'm convinced that's why Mom is always on business trips… So, do you like your present?”
You turned to face Jacob. “Hmm?”
He patted the truck just as your dads came back. Your eyes went wide and your lips twitched until they formed a large smile.
“Are you serious? This is perfect! Dad, you didn’t have to get me a car.”
Charlie shrugged. “I work late sometimes and thought that your personal autonomy was very important.”
He’s trying to sound like a parent that actually read the child psychology books. The why he bought me a car didn’t matter. It was the fact that he just did. A truck didn’t exactly fit my aesthetic but something about vintage ones totally did.
"Don't worry, I worked on it myself. Everything's perfect," Jacob said.
"You did this? By yourself now? Jake, what the heck. That's crazy you're doing it on your own now. Why are you so amazing?"
Before anyone could actually answer you, you whipped open the door and sat inside. You remembered this truck very well from playing in it since you and Jake were four. Billy had this thing for at least seventeen years. The first thing you noticed were the new leather seats. They were pink instead of gray. The second thing you noticed was the engine’s sound. Smoother than it had ever sounded before.
Jacob opened the passenger door, hopping in to show you how the car operated. He was a genius at fixing cars and trucks. You wouldn’t be surprised if he owned his own mechanic shop some day.
“And that’s it.” He patted the steering wheel. “If anything breaks, let me know.”
“Thank you! God, I’m so glad I have one recognizable face at school.”
“You’ve only been missed two summers. Did you already forget I don’t go to Forks?”
“Right.”
Jake, like most of the Quileute kids, went to a high school on the reservation in La Push. People weren’t as judgmental when they all shared something common. There they could wear their hair long, tell folklore stories without getting made fun of, or try speaking little words here and there of Quileute so the language doesn’t die with their great grandparents.
All things you would have loved to be part of or just sit on the sidelines and observe. Maybe you should have complained to Charlie until you went there. Now you couldn’t leech off of Jacob and had to actually make friends on your own. Disgusting.
Your sentiments didn’t change as you got in the truck and headed to school. You were assigned a parking space the moment you transferred. Unlucky you, you were stuck in the front parking lot.
So much for leaving to go get a better lunch than whatever grub they were going to serve at the cafeteria. Charlie worked too much to even think about asking him to get you something. And you couldn’t ask him to cook either. He’s not really shit at it. It's just his taste buds suck. So unless you wanted to text him a specific lunch menu each Sunday, it was Russian Roulette of lunch. That was too much work. Charlie thinks salami and grapes belong on the same piece of Nutella and butter toast.
When you finally found the parking space, after three circles around, you turned off the engine and found a bunch of eyes greeting you. Lots of them. That’s what being the new kid in a small town gets a person. The eyes stopped staring once you got out of your truck — they needed a face to match the name Bella Swan.
“Nice ride,” a black boy in a red hoodie said as he nodded at your car.
“Thanks, just got it.”
“Cool.”
You didn’t exchange any other words before you entered the building. You stared at the paper schedule, trying to memorize classrooms and the stupid tiny map in the corner. An arm suddenly tapped your shoulder.
“You’re Y/F/N Swan, right? Our new girl.”
You turned to your right to see an Asian boy with a black polo shirt and the most emo haircut you've seen in a while. You took a double take at his outfit and then at the outfits of your peers around you. Suddenly, you were feeling terribly overdressed.
Your thrifted Burberry monogram poncho doubled as a blanket that you would inevitably need because it sat on top of a long sleeved black mini dress. Was it impractical for January in Washington? Probably. But fashion made everything work. At least you had worn snow boots.
“Yeah. It’s just Y/N by the way.”
“Just Y/N. Got it. Well, hi, I’m Eric and your eyes and ears of this place. Anything happens and I know about it. If you need a tour guide, shoulder to cry on, or lunch date then I’m your man.”
Eric made conversation naturally, no small talk in sight. Kind of like Jacob. You chuckled. “I’ll take a rain check on the lunch date but I do need to find room 33C.”
“Let me lead the way.”
He started to lead you down the hallway and to a set of stairs. “So, why move to Forks?”
“I’m not a baseball girl.”
Eric snapped his fingers. “Perfect tagline for your spread. I’m the editor-in-chief of the paper and you are front page news.”
“Oh… Just the front page right? I mean I don’t mind the paper but more than two pages and I’ll transfer.”
“Got it. Spread killed, feature only. And here’s your stop.”
“Thank you so much.”
“I’ll be back for whatever other classes you need to find.”
True to his word, Eric came back and led you to all my morning classes, including the dreaded P.E. You didn’t hate exercise. You just hated whatever wasn’t pilates or a Jane Fonda workout. Besides, you were never good at P.E. anyway. The testament to that was the gym teacher thinking you should do the volleyball exercises with some of the other girls.
You flinched as the ball came towards you. It didn’t go back over the net. Instead, it hit my calculus desk partner, Mike Newton, in the back of the head.
“Sorry!” you yelled as you sped away to hide in the locker room until lunch period.
Mike seemed to forget about it when lunch came. He talked your ear off all the way into the cafeteria. You had forgotten that a small town wouldn’t be like Phoenix. Everyone wanted to talk to the new kid. Whether they were friends or not was yet to be determined. But Mike was a gentleman. He pulled out your seat for you.
“Thank you.”
“My pleasure, Madame.”
Eric laughed. “Mikey, glad you met my girl Y/N.”
“Oh, your girl?”
“Excuse me, my girl. We even bonded over cars,” The black boy from earlier rubbed your hair in fake affection before pulling the chair out from under Mike.
“You’re so dead, Tyler!” he yelled as they ran after him.
The two girls at your table gave a mix of a laugh and a scoff. A girl with a chunky pink headband slid over a juice carton from her tray.
“Sorry about that. It’s like kindergarten all over again, isn’t it? You’re the shiny new toy. Hi, I’m Jessica by the way.”
“Oh, almost forgot,” the other girl with glasses picks up a camera. “Smile!”
The flash blinded me for a moment. “Woah.”
“Sorry, I need some candids for the spread.”
“The spread is dead, Angela,” Eric said in an oddly defensive tone. “Don’t bring it up again… I got your back, babe.”
You couldn’t help the laugh that escaped from your throat. Eric left, leaving you, Jessica, and Angela at the table. Angela set her camera down.
“Great, now what am I supposed to do about filling up the rest of the newspaper? I can’t do another editorial on teen drinking. It’d be the third time.”
“You could always run a psa on eating disorders,” you tried to offer an option. “Or um… padding on the swim team?”
The other girls looked at you and for a moment you thought you said something completely wrong but they began laughing. You caught bits of the conversation as you focused on my food: some of the guys bragging about their sizes that seemed totally fake, speedos fitting improperly, and wondering if they only pad for school pictures.
Going back to the conversation, a glimpse at the window caught your eye before you could speak. Five people walked like this school was a runway.
“Who are they?” you asked.
Jessica dropped her fork on her tray, ready to tell you everything. “The Cullens. Dr. and Mrs. Cullen’s foster kids.”
The names were ones you couldn't remember hearing while visiting over the summers. They were either new kids or never came around La Push. One thing you couldn’t deny was that they were all attractive. And the shorter girl had wicked fashion sense. She strutted by like the rest of them in her thin and flowy white maxi skirt with a chunky black sweater and heels entirely too high for you to ever try wearing. You felt almost entranced just looking at them.
“They’re all like together,” Jessica continued. “Rosalie, the blonde one, yeah she’s with the big one, Emmett. Like a thing.”
“Jess, they’re not actually related,” Angela quickly interjected.
“Yeah I know, but it’s still kinda weird that they live together, don’t you think? Anyway, the small dark-haired girl Alice is with Jasper. He’s the one that always looks like he’s in pain. The two blondes are actually siblings, Mrs. Cullen’s niece and nephew or something like that.”
“Dr. Cullen’s like this foster dad matchmaker.”
“Maybe, he’ll adopt me,” Angela said.
You chuckled. If Dr. Cullen was such a matchmaker then you’d have to tell Charlie goodbye.
“What about him?” you motioned to the last guy left. He walked ahead of his foster siblings like he was the leader or something.
“Edward? Totally hot, supposedly single. No one here seems good enough for him. Don’t waste your time. Like I care, just don’t waste your time.”
“Trust me, wasn’t planning on it.”
You knew that Jessica could have a skewed perspective. Maybe something happened between the two of them but Angela seemed to agree with her. This Edward probably was nothing but bad news and trouble.
You dared myself to look at their table again. Your eyes squinted when you saw their trays. Nothing looked touched. When you looked up, all five of them were staring at you. You whipped your head around and didn’t dare look back again until after lunch.
Thankfully, the classes you had right after lunch didn’t have any of them… until bio class. The teacher, Mr. Donoghue motioned for you to sit at the only empty seat that happened to be next to Edward. You nodded and began moving to the chair. A chill ran down you spine and you shivered as the chill pierced your back. Edward stiffened up at the same time.
You scowled as he held his hand over his mouth and nose. You had taken a shower, put on nice perfume, lotioned, and wore nice jewelry. There was absolutely no way you smelled. His hand stayed over the lower part of his face the entire class period. Even when he had to hand over material, he pushed them to you with a pencil. The moment the bell rang, Edward was gone. Good riddance.
Mr. Donoghue signed the last spot in my slip saying you made it to class successfully and now you could give it to the receptionist. You paused in the doorway after seeing someone’s back but it was too late. The receptionist had seen you.
“Just a moment, dear.”
The person with the back turned around to reveal a troubled face. He grabbed his coat. “Never mind, I’ll just have to endure it.”
You rolled your eyes, handed in you slip and went to your truck. Edward was a total douche. Yet you couldn’t shake the feeling that we’d be seeing each other more often than you’d like. Probably more often than he’d like as well.
Charlie wasn’t finished working when school was over but had enough time for a dinner break. His friend, Waylan, brought takeout from Subway. You didn’t remember Waylan very well. He left for most of the summer each year to visit his kids and grandkids that left Washington. You all moved stuff around on Charlie’s desk to clear space so you could eat. You had a Spicy Italian sub while the two of them ate BLTs. The two of them shared a different sentiment about the Cullens when you asked them.
Unlike the kids at school, they had nothing but praise. The Cullens weren’t weird but mature and well-rounded teenagers. And Dr. Cullen was the best surgeon they’ve had… and he stayed past one year which is an accomplishment. Certain jobs like doctors and lawyers always come from out of town. Most leave after one or two years, not able to handle the slow pace of this green and gray town.
Soon, Charlie and Waylan talked in the most stereotypical old man fashion that you had actually checked out of the conversation. Your cellphone rang as you grabbed a potato chip from the small bag that came with your sandwich.
“That’s Mom, I’m gonna take this.”
“Tell your mom I said hi, Y/N/N.”
You nodded as you walked away.

The next day at school, Edward wasn’t there. You had planned to confront him and find out what his problem was when he didn’t even know you. You weren't exactly popular back in Phoenix but no one had any issues with you. Never.
However, his siblings were there. Not that you were going to approach them. Your problem was their brother not them and you weren't trying to make enemies in such a small town. You watched them walk into the building as you leaned against your truck. You turned when something hit your back.
“Y/N!”
You laughed as you looked at the Twizzler on the ground. “Seriously, Tyler? How dare you waste good food,” you said as you grabbed your bag and walked over to where the kids you met yesterday were all crowded around what you assumed was Tyler’s van.
He shrugged. “I would hardly call Twizzlers the peak of fine dining.”
We all walked inside at the start of a bell ringing. The day had been pleasant without your science partner. And the next day was the same when he didn’t show up again. And the next day until the entire week had gone by without Edward showing his face.
Your first week of school was lucky. You had missed any torrential rain. But you couldn’t say the same for that Monday. The only thing worse than rain was rain when it was below freezing outside. Your front steps were covered in ice. Your phone rang as you closed the house door.
"Hey, Jake... First week done, somewhat a success. Hey, when is Spring Break for you guys? We should totally start coordinating now if we want to try and leave town."
Despite being careful as you talked, you must have stepped incorrectly because before you knew it, your butt had gone down the last three concrete steps leading away from your door and to your driveway.
“Woah, woah, Y/N/N. Are you okay?” Charlie asked as he helped you up.
“Yeah, just fine, Dad. Ice isn’t exactly helpful to the severely uncoordinated.”
“That’s why I got new tires for you. The old ones were getting pretty bald.”
“Thank you.”
You both high-fived before getting into your respective cars and leaving. It felt like you were already used to the routine of Forks when you pulled into your parking spot and found yourself automatically going to Tyler’s van. You sat with Jessica, Angela, Eric, or Mike whenever you had class and swapped snacks with Tyler in between every morning class because your lockers were right next to each other. And the group always walked to lunch together.
“Salad or Sandwich… Hello? Earth to Y/N?”
You blinked to see Jess snapping her fingers in front of you. “Sorry.”
“We wanted to know what you wanted? The lines are backing up so we’re splitting up and tackling stations.”
“Nice, divide and conquer the cafeteria.”
“The Vikings got nothing on us.”
“As long as the only thing we’re conquering and pillaging are those sandwiches.”
“Absolutely. They might have had great hair but I'm not interested. So, ham and cheese, turkey, or those stupid cucumber ones that no one likes?”
“Hey, I like them!”
Jess laughed and walked to her designated line. Mike and you were in charge of gathering everyone’s desserts and soups. Three wanted brownies and three wanted chocolate chip cookies, four wanted tomato soup and two wanted chicken noodle. You all wanted saltine crackers. Every now and then, you looked over your shoulder at what made you stop in you tracks. Edward was back.
And your biology class was the first class after lunch.

Danny 'Jed Olsen' Johnson x pregnant reader
You
You met the ghostface regularly, or rather, it went to your home. You had sex many times, at first you felt guilty about the fact that it is the ghostface and the same hands that satisfied you and touched you are the same ones that kill innocent people.
Most of the time he did not use a condom. But it was okay because you are taking pill, but now, the unexpected happened, your mestruation has been late for 2 weeks, you thought it was just because of the stress of work unitil it started to feel alot of nausea and your breasts were well sore, you refused to take a pregnancy test, for fear, fear off what will happen if you are pregnant, pregnant with a serial killer, not just a serial killer, but the ghostface, or rather, Danny, at the least that was the names he gaves you.
You just woke up from a party that your friend Jessie called you, you are not much of parties, but you were a little away from your friend because of your little case with the largest serial killer in the United States of America, and was scared of what he can do about people close to you, Danny is a little jealous, the last time a guy screwed me, he cut his throat the next day...
I felt guilty for days, but the guy ran a hand on my ass, so on a second thought, i don't feel guilty at all.
RING RING RING
The alarm sound tuck tou of you thoughts. And them the desire of vomit again, i think i will really have to do this...arriving in the bathroom, you took the small box were there was the pregnancy test from the courter where you have you things. After doing the whole process, you let out a sign and them start to despair when you look at the results, positive, "Positive, a fucking positive, of couse, the pill was no use shit any" you talk softly "Jesus Christ, what do i do? Abortion? Tell him? Cry?scream? Oh my god, oh my fucking god, i have to run away? Just go?" You start crying softly, looking at the little staff in your hands, and finally, thrown on the trash.
Danny Johnson/Jed Olsen
I woke up early to play the perfect american citizen Jed, the dear Jed, who all love and no one even suspicious. I passed my gel on my black hair I observed my body toned on the mirror, despite some scars, and them my suit and tie, all perfect.
I arrived at gazette journal, greeted the receptionist and secretariats until i arrived at my office. I was trying to make my new article, John Smith, my last victim, but i couldn't have her out of my head, the woman i find myself, me, Danny, not the Jed. Then my mind dive to her body curves, her breasts, her ass..."Damn" i have to stop thinking about her, i have to do this article, and a can't to it with an erection, it would spoil the perfect Jed, no one can think Jed is a pervert that get hard at work, but damn, i still remember our last night, the last time we saw each other, because unfortunately i was too busy with John shit Smith, at least it was a good death, but nothing, nothing make me forget her, my bunny, she's too perfect, her body, her face, i remember every little bit about her body, you can't forget a woman like that, not even if i wanted to, i still remember...our sweaty bodies in that bed, her breasts swaying as the rhythm increased, her nails digging into my back, her legs whapped around me as if she didn't want me to leave, her sly moans in my ears as you told me to go deeper, harder, more...more, the creaking of the bed, the wet sheets, your room smelled of sex, and the only sounds heard were our skins slapping together, you sweet moans. Only her, only she can do this to me, she holds me and i can't let go, she was the only woman, who entered my thoughts and i can't take it away, i can't.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
A knock on the door brought me of my thoughts. "You can come in" Soon Jeff enter "Olsen, here is some informations that the police gave us, we need this article sent today" Jed gives him a small smiley enough to Jeff "Of course sr, it will be ready before you remember it" Jeff nodded "I knew a cold count on you, Olsen" Then Jeff left the room eating his disgusting greasy donut in his hand, Danny wanted to kill this man, but he know's he can't, he realized that he can't kill anyone at work that would bring suspicion, and he really doesn't want to be seen or have problems with the police.
You
I'm at work talking to my boss about a state transfer, it was my decision, i going to leave, i going to run away and I'm not going to tell anyone, not my friends, anyone. I really have to go, what would he do if he found out I am pregnant, and worse, with his child. I can't, i can't take it, I'm terrified, we don't even have a relationship, i don't even know if a know him well, of course I know that he is the ghostface, the most wanted serial killer in Roseville, Florida. But at all, I never saw his face, at least not all of it, we kissed so much times, we had sex but I was blindfolded most of the times or remaining wearing a mask. My boss said there was a transfer to Utah, and i accepted. And about Danny, he hasn't come for a few days, probably busy with new victims, and we are not dating ou anything else, We just fucked, a lot of times. Whenever we fucked i would wake up alone in the sheets, wich still had his cheap cologne on, he would stay with me until I fell asleep and leave late at night so he wouldn't be seen. He always leaves a post it saying something like: See you, Darling. That's why I know he cares about me, but a child? A child of ours? A mini us? I'm definitely scared if he finds out before I can leave, it's for the best for us, because he is a fucking serial killer, and yet, I slept with him and not just once. Okay, i have to leave today, I'm not taking any furniture, nothing, just some clothes and essential objects for my work so that he doesn't get suspicious before I can leave. I told my boss not to tell anyone about where I went , no matter who. I took the first taxi to the airport and just let myself go. "Goodbye, Danny."
Danny
After work, I got ready with my ghostface costume and went to see her, i parked far from her house, in the darkest part, where no one could see me. I watching trying to find her, but nothing. I decided to go in, i looked in every room, and i waited for her to arrive, hour passed and i tried to call her on my spare number that I use for ghostface calls, but she wasn't answering, I ran to check the drawers and nothing, there was no nothing, i decided to go back the next day.
The next day, i went to the hospital where she works, I ask the receptionist if you was there, and she told me that you don't longer work there, i asked to speak to your boss, he told me that you request transfer. Why? I asked him where, but he said you asked him not to tell anyone, no matter who. Shit. At night, i went to your house, pissed, angry, that's all l fell. Why? You think you could get into in my head, and just...leave, like it's was nothing? I started to break down everything, thrown everything on the floor. "FUCK"
You
It's been 2 years, 2 years since I left, 2 year I've been in Utah and a year since my baby was born, a strong and healthy little boy, he has the same grey eyes as Danny, and the face is similar, it's been exactly 2 weeks since he turned 1 years old, I made his day the most especial. My mother helped me with everything since I arrived in Utah, she helped me with the move furniture and my house a large two-story with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, my son's room is fully of toys, painting notebooks and very colorful for my baby.
I was preparing his food while he has coloring with crayons, when the news on television caught my attention, i was paralyzed. ALERT: 26-YEARS-OLD MAN FOUND DEAD THIS MORNING. On the television was the photo, the ghostface over the censored corpse, my son was entertaining himself with some building blocks, for wich i thank the gods. It took a while to reason, he...he's here, in Utah. He knows? Does he knows I'm here? Did he come after me? Did he come to kill me for leave? No, I just paranoid, there no way he was discovered at all. "Damn, stop worrying, everything will be okay, he will not find me, I hope..."
Two weeks after the first ghostface murder
Danny
I was crouching in a bush watching a house, and that's when I saw her. There she was cooking and dancing to the sound of a song where I couldn't identify. But... she was not alone, squeezed my eyes and managed to see, was a baby, a boy, apparently 12 months or 1 year. Smiling without teeth right. So he made the calculations, 1 years that the baby appears to have and 2 years she left, she was still meeting him, wasn't she? Or she was having sex with another guy while sleeping with him..or is his baby?. That's why, why is she gone? Is the baby really his? A fruit of them two? I was dipped in my thoughts. I need to see right, I need to see the boy well.
You
I was holding my son on my hip while we danced to the sound of (f/v)
And I prepare a food for both of us. Until I observed a movement outside. I put in (y/c/n) in the Feeding chair and headed toward the window, watched and found nothing. Maybe it was my head, or not. When I and (y/c/n) we finished eating, it was a little late and put him in the crib, I sang a song until he fell asleep, when he slept, headed for my room that was near him to be easier to Listening to crying or meeting your needs, put a nightgown and tied my hair awkwardly with a little hair in front and lay down. A few hours or minutes maybe I heard a wooden noise, I took a bat and went towards the noise came from.
It came from my son's room, walked fast towards a totally dark room, I stared at the crib and he wasn't there when I looked at the armchair that is located in the corner of the room and was there. Danny. Holding our son, in his arms, was the small figure sleeping peacefully with his little hands playing lightly in the white mask, Danny who looked at him, suddenly changed his gaze to me, the only lighting in the room was the moonlight brightness, Until then the silence was broken. "Hello Darling"
"What are you doing here?" "What? I can't visit my lover? Or rather, my son's mother"
He said getting up carefully as he snuggled (y/c/n) in the crib. "It's my baby, isn't it? So you left?" He says approaching slowly until he was centimeters from you, the difference in visible height and the small space that could only be heard the breaths of each other, he put his hand gloved in his chin and raised stop his eyes through the mask. "Answer me, honey" He speaks so low that he sounded like a whisper. His lips separated to speak, but nothing left. He raises a little from the mask and gets closer, you finally wave your head."Yes..." he then gets millimeters from you and collides the lips against yours. When you leave it, he looks at you eyes with a predatory gray look at yours and says "our son, and you are mine, sweetheart, just mine, and we are a family. We and our little boy. I love you, bunny"
He said with his head now without the mask touching yours. with your lips almost touching
"I love you too, Danny".

Note
listen what about the good girl's boy best friend futakuchi ORRRR the police officer x DA with daichi. is daichi underrated enough. please pick one that is worthy and YOU decide whether it should be nsfw or not. i trust you with these
Tumblr media
everything's blurry but you, kenji futakuchi;
Tumblr media
pairing kenji futakuchi x f!reader word count 3.5k synopsis barely in your baby twenties, and you think life is so over for you. then, while at rock bottom, you run into futakuchi, and realize that 1) he's kinda pathetic, and 2) someone else's pathetic-ness totally distracts you from your own. so, guess you two are in it together. content contains drinking, bar setting (physical location, this fic does not set the bar for anything, don't get it twisted) prompt instead of the good girl x mysterious bad boy, it’s the good girl’s boy best friend (who’s been hopelessly in love with her for a while) x the new girl in town who’s her complete opposite
Tumblr media
Kenji Futakuchi strategically chooses a Friday to confess to his first love — that he naively thinks will be his only love, that he naively believes his feelings are love — because it’s basically the end of the week.
Can’t do it on a Monday; when he faces the inevitable rejection, he’ll have to sludge through the workweek feeling like the world’s biggest loser. Wednesday doesn’t work since it’s that odd day in the middle of the week where nothing important is supposed to happen; might as well not try to mix up the monotony. Friday is good because when she breaks his heart, he’ll have tonight and Saturday night to drown his sorrows in cheap liquor, and he still has Sunday to rest up and actually get over it.
The confession goes as expected — despite his sweaty palms, rapid heartbeat, and the voice in the back of his head asking him are we sure we want to go through with this?, Kenji straightens his back and boldly confesses that he’s had feelings for her since high school. He’s met with her wide-eyed expression, a rosy blush creeping upon the apple of her porcelain cheeks, and she looks down at her shoes, too shy to face her best friend since childhood, too shocked about his crush as if it wasn’t the most obvious thing in the world.
He already went in knowing that he was going to walk out a loser. It’s a bad mentality to have before entering a game, but he would never cheapen his feelings to the point of treating them like they’re just a part of some silly game. His heart thumping against his ribcage, the tiny adrenaline rush coursing through his veins when he finally decided to just be a man and at least make an attempt to get the girl — all of this is proof that this is real. Not a game. And yet—
“I’m so sorry, Kenny.” He would never allow anyone else to call him by that nickname; this is a privilege reserved only for her. It used to feel like an inside joke between them, but he finds himself shrinking back from her, and now the joke’s flying over his head. He’s on the outside looking in. This is not real, he decides. The humiliating “we can still be friends” conversation is happening to someone who only looks like him, he decides. His sudden desire to get shitfaced at the nearest bar has nothing to do with this awkward, embarrassing situation that is not happening to him, he decides.
She looks like she’s near tears, and she’s such a sweetheart, that he knows that this is somehow harder for her than it is for him. The urge to console her is overwhelming, but then she speaks.
“We’re—” She pauses slightly; she’s careful with her words, always cautious. Kenji starts spiraling, trying desperately to fill in the blanks when he sees her lips start to form that dreaded word, the F-Bomb that will surely impact his ego and blow it up, forcing him to leave it tattered on the sidewalk of her neighborhood. “—friends.”
She says it with such finality, it’s almost like a fucking death sentence. He’s in a courtroom, and she’s the judge telling him that he’s never going to see the sun ever again.
He makes his way to the bar in a daze, muttering to himself, playing a game. He wonders what she was going to say to fill the silence. We’re — just, only, always going to be, better off as — friends. Whatever he chooses, he’s screwed.
“Fuck,” he groans, wanting to bury his face in his hands. The alcohol hasn’t quite hit his system yet; he knows so, because he’s still capable of rational thought. He should stop now, go home, take a shower, and hide under the covers, dead to the world until Sunday afternoon, which is when he has his upcoming game.
“Are you done?” An annoyed voice causes him to look up.
“What?”
“I said, are you done? You’ve been talking to yourself for the past thirty minutes, and it’s starting to piss me off.”
When Kenji is with her, he tries to be a better person. He knows that during their high school days, he had a tendency to pick fights, antagonize others, take delight in besting an opponent. All that holding back only resulted in him being ditched for some mysterious rich guy who drives a sleek black car with tinted windows. Maybe it’s the alcohol finally hitting, but he makes the decision to just be himself. It’s not like he gives a shit on how you’ll feel about his attitude.
“There are plenty of other seats in this bar. Go sit somewhere else if I’m bothering you that much.” He scoffs. You narrow your eyes.
“I was here first. You should move.”
You turn your body to face him, taking in the strange man sitting one barstool away from you. He also fully turns his body so he can face you, almost childishly mimicking your movements, except he’s got one elbow resting on the sticky countertop. He looks like he wants to pick a fight with you, his brown eyes narrowed, lips curled in a scowl. The jetlag, the bartender mixing up your drink order, the lack of sleep, the awful professors in grad school, the date your parents are forcing you to go on — all of it has been packed neatly and tightly into your nervous system, compartmentalized, and promptly stowed away.
You can feel all your built-up irritation clawing its way out of your skin. Normally, you would just roll your eyes, take your purse, and leave. Normally, you wouldn’t have even said anything. It’s not like he was even talking all that loud. Normally, you would just mind your own business.
Then again, thinking too much about your own life is the reason why you’re spiraling, heading straight to rock bottom, no Google Maps needed for you to find your way there. Maybe it’s just better for you to pour all your attention onto this man.
“I’ve been living in this town since I was born, and I’ve never seen you here before.” He gives you a dramatic, childish, once-over. You’re wearing slacks, pointy-toed high heels, a fucking blazer. He snorts, then thinks about her ballet flats that she favors, her fluffy sweaters, her frilly skirts. Wanting to rid himself of all conscious memory of her, he pours himself another shot, downs it like water, and works on committing your serious image to memory. He takes in your disgusted expression.
Better, he decides. He’s not thinking about his little heartbreaker.
“Oh, I didn’t know I was meeting with the fucking mayor.” You give him a once-over as well. He can’t remember the last time he’s been scrutinized so coldly. It’s a feeling he isn’t used to, especially now that he’s a young adult and the volleyball games he plays now don’t feel so high-stakes. You’re sizing him up like he’s an opponent. He wants to tell you that he doesn’t fight women, but he’s petty enough and drunk enough to want to push your buttons — all four of them, really, when he takes in the golden buttons of your blazer, each one of them engraved with some designer logo he certainly can’t afford. “Have you ever considered that not everyone spends their free time getting sloppy drunk? Some of us have jobs.”
“Oh, yeah? What’s a job?” He asks, blinking owlishly at you. “I don’t know what that is since I’m such a simpleton. Maybe you can go call a cab and get it to take you to your job, and let me know what it’s like. I’ll still be here when you get back.”
Maybe in a different life, in a different situation, when you’re in a different mood, this stranger would be funny. Maybe in better lighting, he’d even be cute.
“I said some of us have jobs. Never said I was included in that group.” The words taste bitter, and you know it’s not because of the drinks you’ve had.
His expression softens a bit. As a child, Kenji used to poke anthills with a stick, toying with the little guys just because it seemed funny to his boyish brain at the time. Despite this, he’s not the type to kick someone when they’re down, even if you’re rude and have bad manners.
Silence.
This one, he doesn’t bother trying to fill.
He watches you pour yourself a shot, and he copies you. You don’t notice, but then you’re pouring up a second, then a third, and he can’t help it; he follows along. You catch him doing it out of the corner of your eye, and suddenly, a stroke of competitiveness that hasn’t afflicted either of you since adolescence is now invigorating the both of you. He matches you, shot for shot, and oh — he is definitely going to regret this. He might actually regret this by the time Sunday rolls around.
Noticing his hesitation and the near-empty bottle, you drunkenly call for his attention.
“Hey—” You bring your bottle to your lips, downing the rest of the contents, giving him a self-satisfied smile. When you wake up with a raging headache, hunched over the toilet, and having to show up to your blind date with sunglasses to hide your ragged state, you will regret this. Right now, you’ll take any small win you can get.
His cheeks are flushed, his reaction time slower as it takes him a few seconds to process what he just witnessed.
“You’re insane.” He mumbles, fumbling for his own bottle, and missing it by quite a margin.
“Don’t bother. I beat you, I drank it faster, and I’m holding my liquor way better.” Your words are slurred, there is way too much alcohol sloshing in your otherwise empty stomach, and the fact that you can’t tell you sound totally drunk (and neither can he) is a dead giveaway that both of you need to get your stomachs pumped and hooked up to an IV, stat.
“Liar. Look at the way you’re struggling to sit in your seat.” He’s not doing so hot himself. The only reason he’s not swaying like you is because he’s leaning against the bar counter for support. That, and he thinks any sudden movement might cause his brain to shut down.
“I’m fine.” You insist, and you look like you’re going to try to prove just how fine you are, until your phone lights up. Your almost carefree expression suddenly hardens. You decline the call, but even drunk, Kenji can feel the shift in atmosphere, the change in your demeanor.
“You sure?” He asks.
“Absolutely.” You reply back, with none of the conviction you’ve previously been serving up on a platter for him. He almost misses how annoying you are; the mopey version of you is no fun.
(That, and as much as Kenji Futakuchi spends time insisting that it’s not true, his insides are just as soft as everybody else’s. If only he was an asshole. He could be stumbling back home right now.)
“Whatever’s bothering you, I’m pretty sure I have it rougher. So, don’t go throwing yourself an undeserved pity party.”
“I highly doubt that.” At least you don’t sound so resigned when you say it. “And I’m not throwing a pity party.” Pity is for losers.
“Oh, yeah?” He takes the bait you set out — another competition. “What’s the matter with you?”
“My professor stole my paper and took credit for all my work, for starters.” You don’t know why you tell him this; probably because he’s the farthest thing from an academic, and unlike your classmates that you mistakenly considered friends, at least he’s not going to shun you — or, even worse — take your professor’s side.
“Boring.” He fakes a yawn. “You downed a bottle of tequila because of that?”
You frown. “Well, what’s your deal? It better be something major.”
“Soul crushing.” He tells you, and he means it. You’re a stranger. He’ll probably never run into you ever again. His friends will never let him hear the end of it if he tells them the truth, or even worse, they’ll pity him. He decides to let you in on the secret. “I confessed to the girl I’ve been in love with since childhood.”
You’re silent for a second, then, you toss your head back and laugh. His embarrassment quickly gets replaced with indignation.
“What’s so funny?”
You wipe a tear from your cheek. “Oh, nothing. That’s just the funniest thing I’ve ever heard, given the circumstances. Tell me the truth: why are you really here?”
He blinks. “I told you the truth.”
He waits impatiently for your laughter to die down.
“That’s your soul crushing news?” You ask him, clutching your stomach, grinning at him. You haven’t had a good laugh in weeks. You were almost scared that you had forgotten how to.
“She’s a nice girl.” He resists the sudden childish urge to stick out his tongue and blow a raspberry. “Nicer than you.”
“If she’s so nice, then why are you drinking alone at a bar and acting like the world is ending instead of being with her?” You point out.
“How would you reject a guy who confesses to you?”
You don’t mention that you’ve never been confessed to. Instead, you pretend to ponder it for all of two seconds, before saying, “I’d tell him the truth.”
“The truth?”
“If I like him, then I’ll admit to returning his feelings. If I don’t like him, I’ll tell him that.” You shrug. “Simple.”
“So heartless.” He scoffs. “You won’t even tell him that you two can still be friends?”
“Do you think people can still be friends after all that? Like, things will just be the same as always between you two?” You don’t sound mean when you ask him this; just genuinely curious.
He tries to turn the attention back to you. “What if you two aren’t friends, then?”
“Why bother telling him that we can still be friends?”
“It’s polite.”
“It’s cruel. No one really means it when they say they can still be friends. People only say that because they think it softens the blow.” You lean your body forward, palms resting on the bar stool that separates you two. You’re surprisingly steady as you tell him, “Reciprocation is true kindness.”
Your eyes seem to sparkle under the warm lighting of the bar. He wants to blame this realization on the alcohol, but this is somehow the clearest his consciousness has been in a minute.
“What do you mean by that?”
“If someone reveals their true feelings, you should respect them by revealing your own. I hope she told you how she really felt.”
We’re friends. We’re friends. We’re—
a pause, hesitation, reluctance
—friends.
He licks his lips. His mouth suddenly feels dry. He’s aware of you staring at him, but you’re so drunk, you probably don’t realize the intensity of your gaze.
“She told me we’re friends.”
“And?” You press him for more information.
“That’s it.” He runs a shaky hand through his hair. “What does that mean?”
You make a face.
“It means you’re totally fucked. Sorry.”
He groans. “What do you know anyway? You’re just another bum in this bar.”
“A bum in this bar who can outdrink you, and my problems are actually major.”
“So, what? Call him out for plagiarism. Easy fix.”
“Easy fix, my ass.” You grumble. “You wouldn’t get it.”
“Not even going to ask you to elaborate.” Then, “Got any other complicated problems my tiny brain can’t understand?”
“I’m totally fucked, too.” You admit. “Except mine is out of my control, and your pathetic situation was easily avoidable.”
“How was my situation ‘easily avoidable’?”
“Well, live a lie and don’t confess. Or, maybe just don’t like her?”
Kenji has never met someone so interesting. Usually, when people spout out bullshit and other complete nonsense, they do it with false bravado and counterfeit confidence. You sound like you genuinely believe in what you’re saying — as if feelings are just something you can flip on and off, like a switch, like a choice.
“Those are your solutions?”
You nod. He can’t even find it in himself to shake his head. He’s now oddly fascinated in what could possibly be going on in your life if you’re handling your shit with such emotionless, cold decision making.
“So, what about your other problems?”
“The whole point of being here is so I can forget about them.” When he doesn’t say anything else, you sigh. No point in acting like it’s not going to happen. “My parents sent me out here because I’m going on a date. Some businessman I  went to high school with. They’re hoping we get engaged soon.”
“What’s so problematic about that?”
“Apparently he’s in love with some random girl.”
“So you don’t want to fight for his attention?”
“I don’t want him at all. My parents keep pushing for this, though, and since I dropped out because of the whole plagiarism thing, I don’t—” You pause. Even if he is just a stranger, airing out all your business in this dingy bar is a tad bit too pathetic for your liking. “It’s whatever.”
He bites his tongue, resisting the urge to point out that it sure doesn’t sound like whatever.
“I should go. Thanks for… this.” You wave your hand in the air, unsure of what to call this situation. Your moves are a bit clumsier than usual, and the heel of your shoe catches onto the legs of the stool as you’re getting up, and you can see it all happen in slow motion. You can feel the pull of gravity dragging you down, and you think for a split second that maybe banging your head on this dirty floor might actually be worth it. Maybe you’ll get amnesia and forget how shitty everything is. Maybe you’ll fall into a coma, be basically dead to the world. Maybe you’ll actually be buried six feet under.
Kenji’s reflexes are still quick. He jumps up from his chair, and your body crashes against his. He got up way too fast, and now his head is kind of spinning. The room is spinning. He hears a faint ringing in his ears, and he blinks hard, trying to focus. Everything is blurry.
He looks down, and you’re peering up at him, staring at him curiously. Everything is blurry but you. In fact, he could probably count your individual lashes with the way he’s hyper focused on you.
“You can let me go now.” You murmur, and he clears his throat awkwardly, instantly removing his hold on you. He’s thankful for the shots he took because he can at least blame the scarlet flush on the alcohol instead of the embarrassment.
“Did you call a cab?” He asks, noticing how dark it’s gotten outside.
“I was just going to walk back. Try to sober up.”
Sober seems like a hefty goal at the moment. “Don’t be stupid. Get a cab.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” You huff.
“Let me walk you home, then.”
“I’m drunk, but I’m not dumb enough to let a strange man know where I’m staying.”
“It’s dark, and like you said, you’re drunk. At least call that guy you’re going on a date with.”
You frown, refusing to look at him. “We don’t have that kind of relationship.”
“But you’re planning on being engaged to him?”
“Like I said, we don’t have that kind of relationship.”
In the end, you know that this stranger is right. You’re not sure which cab services are still running at this hour, and you know no one else in this town. You dial Kato’s number, pleasantly surprised that he manages to pick up on the third ring.
“I’m drunk. I’m going to text you my location. Please pick me up.” You ignore a greeting altogether, and before he can give an excuse on why he can’t come, you add, “There’s a strange man here, and I don’t want to be alone with him.” The stranger makes a face, and you mouth out a sorry.
Kato sighs over the line. “Give me the address, and I’ll be there shortly.”
“Thanks, Kato.” He hangs up before you’re even done speaking.
You expect the stranger to make a teasing remark, probably boast about how he knows everything and be pleased with how you did what he asked, but he looks confused.
“Kato?” He repeats.
“Yes, that’s his name.”
“Daisuke Kato?” He presses you, and you nod.
Maybe your paths will cross again, he decides. He can’t tell if this is a good or a bad thing, especially since Daisuke Kato is the name of the man who Kenji’s best friend has fallen in love with.

Can you believe it's only been 5 weeks?
Feels like an eternity already.
In any case, tomorrow basic training ends and we might (or might not) hear where they are going to be assigned to.
One thing we do know is:
that they are going to be together.
Something that will definitely quieten the nerves.
I've kind of sworn off SM at the moment, after seeing there is so much negativity and just all round yuckiness going on right now. I can't help but wonder if it's boredom or nerves or what not, that has people, once again, promoting doubt and negativity, or in place, policing others with what to post or not post, feeling they are mouth pieces for the two men, not knowing at all what those two men even want or expect of us.
And it's really funny and absurd to me seeing people still doubt the strength of the bond these two young men have. Actually, it's ridiculous at this point.
Anyway, part 1 of their service is done. A very short but also intense and tough part - the transition from civilian to soldier with all it entails. Having to surrender much of your autonomy as an individual and becoming somewhat of a cog in the machine cannot be easy, even more so for those who enlist older, given that they have reached maturity, have a clear path in life, know what they want or don't want, etc.
Welcome to part 2, in which I do hope their placement is a good one, one they will be happy with (as much as you can be happy under these circumstances, of course).
Knowing that whatever may come, they have one another. There to support each other. Make each other laugh, even through the hard times (which I'm sure there will be). Lift one another up when they are feeling down.
And knowing all that, I know they will be ok!!
I need to believe that in a way, and don't come at me for saying this, this ordeal might do good for them (again, knowing they are together and have each other). Getting away from the industry, and even the distance from the fandom (especially the toxic parts of it) can do them good. As hard as it may be, it will give them experience in another aspect of life. In a way, it can even be a time for them to rest (as funny as that may sound). Having a healthier schedule, healthier wake and sleep hours. Healthier diet.
These are young men that all they know is the industry, of which they have been part of for over a decade, since their teenage years . This here (as hard as it is, especially for JM) might be a much needed forced break. To have a rest from the industry. To recharge, distance makes the heart fonder... not creating or performing will ignite or flame that fire in their belly once more. To experience something else in their life. To be treated, more or less, not like a celebrity, but like anybody else, for that short period of time to live their lives like 'ordinary' Korean young men. This can give them insight to things they would never in a million years see or experience otherwise. And it can strengthen them as human beings and as artists as well.
I need to believe all that!!
Anyway, now that part 1 is all but over and they are on to part 2, I'm also hoping that we will get to see more of them on their terms, that hopefully they will choose to keep in touch with us from time to time.
Maybe even together.
Tumblr media
I'm really sorry, I feel like this post has been all over the place. I guess just like my current state of mind, lol.
In any case wishing them all the luck in their new assignments. Hope they are happy and content and STAY SAFE!!!
