A Deal with the Grumpy Officer [Tim Bradford Imagine]
Tumblr media
Summary: You find the perfect opportunity to leave a date.
Y/N sat in a booth at the small, local diner, stirring her drink absentmindedly. Derek, her date, was talking about his job, but her mind was elsewhere. She smiled politely and nodded in all the right places, but something felt off. The conversation was nice enough, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t fully invested in it.
She glanced around the diner, hoping to distract herself, when her eyes landed on a familiar figure.
Tim Bradford.
Standing at the counter, holding a takeout bag and looking as unimpressed as ever. His blonde hair was a little messy and his tan looked like it had been freshly topped off. The t-shirt he wore—bright yellow with the word "Lakers" sprawled across it—stood out against his usual grumpy expression, giving him an almost comically serious air.
Y/N’s heart gave a little leap. She knew exactly what to do.
“Sorry, Derek,” Y/N interrupted him, her voice suddenly a bit too cheerful. “I think I need to leave. I, uh, just remembered I’ve got something I need to take care of.”
Derek blinked, looking caught off guard. “What? Already? But we were having a great time.”
Y/N’s lips twisted into an apologetic smile. “Yeah, but my ex is here, and I really don’t want to deal with it. He’s a bit... intense.”
“Your ex?” Derek looked confused, but Y/N didn’t wait for him to process. She gestured subtly toward Tim, who had just finished paying for his food and was heading toward the door.
Y/N leaned in close to Derek, trying her best to look embarrassed. “Yeah, he’s just over there. I don’t want to make it weird.”
Derek glanced over and noticed Tim—arms crossed, face stoic, staring at him like he could turn him to stone with just one look.
“Oh... uh, okay. Yeah, I get it,” Derek stammered, suddenly looking uncomfortable. “You should, uh... go take care of that then.”
Y/N nodded, already standing up. “I’ll text you later, okay? Thanks for understanding.”
Before Derek could say anything else, she quickly made her way toward Tim, feeling a little rush of adrenaline.
“Hey, Tim!” she called out, her voice unexpectedly chipper.
Tim glanced up, his grumpy demeanor softening slightly when he saw her. “Y/N? What’s up?”
She quickly lowered her voice, stepping closer to him. “I need your help,” she whispered. “I need you to play along. It’s for my... ex-boyfriend. He’s here, and I need you to pretend to be, well, him.”
Tim gave her a blank stare, but there was a flicker of amusement in his eyes. “You want me to pretend to be your angry ex?”
Y/N nodded frantically. “Please. I just need to get out of here, and he’s already looking at us.”
Tim sighed deeply, looking over at Derek, who was still sitting at the table, confused and nervous. “You owe me big time for this.”
“Deal,” she said quickly, glancing back at Derek. “Just make it look convincing.”
With a grunt of agreement, Tim walked past her, glaring in Derek’s direction as he passed. Y/N quickly followed him, turning back toward Derek with a resigned expression. “Sorry, but I’ve really got to go. He is being difficult and... you know how that goes.”
Derek’s eyes widened when he saw Tim, his arms crossed and his expression downright terrifying. “Wait, your... ex is that guy?”
Y/N nodded as casually as possible, taking a few steps back. “Yep, him. I should really go. I’ll text you later.”
Derek looked from her to Tim, then back to her. “Uh, okay... no problem. Take care.”
Without another word, she turned and quickly walked after Tim, not daring to look back at Derek. She couldn’t help the small grin that tugged at her lips as they stepped out of the diner and into the cool night air.
Tim didn’t say anything as they walked toward his car, his usual gruffness returning. He unlocked the door with a click and tossed the takeout bag into the passenger seat before getting in himself.
“So... what now?” he asked, clearly unimpressed by the situation.
Y/N slipped into the passenger seat, glancing over at the bag of food. “Well, I’d say we go somewhere comfortable.Maybe watch the Lakers game?” She shrugged casually, trying to sound lighthearted despite her nerves. “I mean, you’re already here and, well... I could use the distraction.”
Tim gave her a sidelong look but didn’t argue. “You really think I’m going to share my food with you?”
She grinned, reaching over and tugging the bag closer. “I’m sure you’ll be generous. After all, you’re the one doing me the favor.”
Tim rolled his eyes, but there was a small smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “This is the last time I help you out, you know.”
Y/N laughed, feeling a little more at ease now that they were both in the car. “Oh, that's what you said last time as well.”
---
The drive to Tim’s place was short. They were sitting on his couch, the game on in the background. The Lakers were playing their rivals and the tension in the room was palpable, but for once, Y/N wasn’t focused on the game. She was too busy stealing bites of Tim’s fries when he wasn’t looking, trying to ignore the way his presence was oddly comforting.
Tim’s focus was entirely on the TV, but every now and then, he’d glance at her and she could see the faint hint of a smile on his face.
“So, the Lakers, huh?” she said, taking a bite of his burger when he wasn’t paying attention.
Tim didn’t look at her but there was a dry edge to his voice. “Yeah, they’re not bad.”
“Not bad?” Y/N asked with mock disbelief. “They’re amazing, Tim! You’ve gotta be more invested than that.”
“Sure, sure. Amazing,” he muttered, shaking his head with a slight chuckle.
Y/N smiled to herself, watching the game for a bit, but then her gaze drifted to the take-out bag again. She couldn’t help but laugh quietly to herself. “You know, I’m pretty sure this isn’t how I expected my night to go.”
Tim glanced at her, his expression unchanging. “What, you didn’t think you’d be eating my fries and watching a game with me?”
“Definitely not.” She chuckled. “But I’m glad it turned out this way.”
Tim didn’t respond right away, but when he finally looked at her, there was something a little warmer in his gaze. “Yeah, me too.”
And just like that, the night stretched on in comfortable silence, the Lakers playing in the background as they shared food and time in each other's company. Despite everything, it was exactly what she needed.

Lost without you
Summary: What happens when Tim Bradford’s secret girlfriend, Y/N, shows up at the station with his forgotten lunch, leaving his coworkers stunned by the reveal?
Note: I’m happy I’m back to being active, but this time I decided to switch it up a bit. I decided to add the one and only Tim Bradford to my list and here is my first ever story I wrote about him. Enjoy! 😊
Tim Bradford x reader
Genre: fluff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim Bradford was a man of precision, discipline, and control. His reputation as the gruff, no-nonsense sergeant at the LAPD was well-earned, and his coworkers knew better than to mess with him unnecessarily.
He lived by structure, with everything in its place, including his private life.
What nobody at the station knew, however, was that he had been in a relationship for the past three years, a relationship that softened him in ways no one would believe if they saw him at work.
You were the polar opposite of Tim in every way.
Shy, soft-spoken, and a bit introverted, you’d never imagined yourself dating someone as commanding and straightforward as him.
But Tim had an unshakable way of making you feel safe, cherished, and seen.
Your differences didn’t drive you apart; they were what made your relationship thrive.
Sure, there was an age gap, but neither of you cared. What mattered was how deeply you loved one another.
Tim loved teasing you to get a reaction. Whether it was a quick quip to make you blush or a small gesture in public that only you two would understand.
He thrived on the little moments when he could make you flustered.
And you? You adored his steady, unwavering presence, the man behind the uniform who was patient, gentle, and surprisingly affectionate.
The morning started off as usual. Tim had woken up early, slipping out of bed quietly to avoid disturbing you.
But today, you stirred, blinking up at him groggily as he adjusted his shirt in front of the mirror.
“You’re leaving already?” you mumbled, your voice thick with sleep.
He turned, his gaze softening as he saw you stretching under the covers. “Didn’t mean to wake you,” he said, walking over to the bed.
He leaned down to press a soft kiss to your forehead, his hand brushing over your hair. “Go back to sleep, sweetheart.”
You yawned and shook your head. “You always say that, but I like seeing you before you go.”
You sat up, rubbing your eyes. “Did you grab your lunch?”
Tim gave you a sheepish smile, his hand rubbing the back of his neck. “Not yet.”
“Of course,” you teased, rolling your eyes. “What would you do without me?”
He smirked, leaning down until his face was inches from yours. “Starve, probably.”
Your cheeks heated at the proximity, and you pushed at his chest lightly.
“You’re impossible,” you muttered, though your smile betrayed your words.
He kissed you again this time on the lips, before standing.
“Thanks for putting up with me,” he said softly. “See you tonight?”
“Be safe,” you said, watching him leave.
But as the door clicked shut, you glanced at the counter and saw the neatly packed lunch you’d prepared for him.
Classic Tim, you thought with a fond smile.
Tumblr media
Hours later, you found yourself at the station, Tim’s lunch in hand. As much as you loved Tim, the idea of walking into his workplace made your stomach twist nervously.
You’d never been to his station before. Tim had always been adamant about keeping his personal life separate from work.
But you knew he’d appreciate the gesture, and it was an excuse to see him again.
As you approached the front desk, the officer there gave you a curious look. “Can I help you?”
“Uh, hi,” you said, holding up the brown paper bag.
“I’m here to see Sergeant Bradford. He…uh, forgot his lunch.”
The officer raised an eyebrow but paged Tim down. You waited, feeling out of place amid the bustling officers.
When Tim finally appeared, his stern expression softened immediately upon seeing you.
“Y/N?” he said, his voice tinged with surprise.
“You forgot this,” you said, handing him the bag.
Your voice came out quieter than you’d intended, and you felt your cheeks flush under his gaze.
Tim stepped closer, taking the bag from you. “What would I do without you?” he murmured, his fingers brushing yours briefly.
His touch lingered for a moment before he reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Probably starve,” you said with a small smile, using his own words against him.
His lips quirked up into a smirk. “You’re too good to me, sweetheart. I would be in fact so lost without you.”
Behind him, his coworkers: Lucy, Nolan, Angela, and Jackson had stopped in their tracks, watching the exchange with wide eyes.
Tim wasn’t exactly known for being…well, affectionate. Yet here he was, smiling at you like you were the only person in the world.
“Thanks, baby,” he said, his voice softer than you’d ever heard it. “I’ll see you at home later, okay?”
You nodded, your cheeks burning as he pressed a quick kiss to your forehead.
As you turned to leave, you felt several pairs of eyes on you. You glanced back once, catching Tim’s gaze.
He gave you a small, reassuring smile, and you felt your nerves settle.
As soon as you were out of earshot, the questions started.
“Who was that?” Lucy asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
“Yeah,” Nolan chimed in, his eyebrows raised. “Since when do you smile like that?”
Tim sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Drop it.”
“Oh, no way,” Angela said, grinning. “She’s cute. Is she your friend? A cousin? A-”
“Not your concern,” Tim interrupted sharply, his tone brooking no argument.
The group exchanged incredulous looks but didn’t back down.
“Come on, Tim,” Lucy pressed. “You’ve been holding out on us. Who is she?”
Tim crossed his arms, fixing them with a pointed glare. “It’s personal.”
Lucy scoffed. “Oh, that’s not going to cut it. You can’t just act all sweet and lovey-dovey and expect us not to ask questions.”
“Ask all you want,” Tim said flatly. “I’m not answering.”
Angela tilted her head, smirking. “You’re really not going to tell us?”
“Nope,” Tim replied, his lips twitching as if daring them to keep trying.
The group groaned in unison, clearly frustrated.
“You’re impossible,” Lucy muttered, throwing her hands up.
Tim just shrugged. “And you’re nosy.”
Despite their protests, he refused to give in, leaving them buzzing with unanswered questions.
Tumblr media
That evening, Tim came home to find you in the kitchen, humming softly as you stirred a pot of pasta.
He leaned against the doorway, a small smile tugging at his lips. After a moment, he walked over and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you close.
“Hey, baby,” he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
“Tim!” you yelped, startled. “You scared me!”
He chuckled, resting his chin on your shoulder. “Sorry. I couldn’t help myself. You looked too cute.”
You rolled your eyes playfully, turning in his arms to face him. “Long day?”
He let out a low sigh, his hands settling on your waist. “Better now,” he said, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “You? Everything okay?”
You smiled, resting your hands against his chest. “Yeah, just the usual. I missed you, though.”
His lips curled into a soft smile, and he kissed you tenderly. “Missed you too.”
As you sat down to eat dinner together, Tim began telling you about his coworkers’ reaction to your visit earlier.
“They wouldn’t stop asking questions,” he said, shaking his head. “Who you were, why you were there, if we were related. I shut them down, but they were relentless.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, setting your fork down.
“They must think I’m some random girl who wandered into the station. Or worse, someone putting up with your grumpy self.”
Tim smirked, leaning back in his chair. “Oh, they definitely think you’re crazy for that. But I didn’t give them anything. Figured it wasn’t their business.”
You tilted your head, considering.
“I mean… maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if they knew. They’re your friends too, right? They might tease you, but it’s not like they’ll judge us.”
His expression softened as he studied you. “You’d be okay with that? Them knowing about us?”
You reached across the table, taking his hand.
“Yeah, I think so. I mean, it’s not like we’re doing anything wrong. And it might make things easier for you at work if they aren’t constantly guessing.”
Tim laced his fingers with yours, squeezing gently. “If you’re sure. I didn’t want to say anything unless you were ready.”
You gave him a reassuring smile. “I am. Besides, i would rather have them know the truth than think I’m your secret cousin or something weird.”
He laughed, the sound warm and genuine. “Fair enough.”
After a moment, his gaze turned serious. “You know, I don’t care what anyone else thinks. I’m not hiding how much I love you, Y/N. Never have, never will.”
Your heart swelled at his words, and you squeezed his hand tighter. “I know, Tim. And I love you too. So, let’s do it. Let’s stop hiding.”
Tim nodded, his smirk returning. “Alright. But don’t blame me when they start interrogating you instead.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “I’ll take my chances.”
He leaned across the table, brushing his lips against yours. “You’re incredible, you know that?”
“And you’re biased,” you teased, grinning.
“Damn right,” he said, his voice full of affection.
Tumblr media
The next day, you found yourself back at the station. This time, it wasn’t because Tim forgot his lunch by accident, it was very much on purpose.
You knew this because when you asked him about it that morning, he had shrugged and said, “Maybe I’ll forget again,” with a mischievous smirk that made you narrow your eyes.
Now, standing outside the station with his lunch in hand, you felt the same nervous flutter in your stomach as the day before.
You weren’t used to being in Tim’s world, surrounded by his colleagues and the constant hum of police activity.
Still, you were here for him, and that was enough to push you through your shyness.
As you walked inside, the same officer at the front desk spotted you. He raised an eyebrow but smirked knowingly. “Back again?”
You nodded, offering a polite smile. “He forgot his lunch. Again.”
The officer chuckled and picked up the phone. Sergeant Bradford, your…lunch delivery is here.”
A few moments later, Tim appeared. He didn’t look surprised to see you, of course, he wasn’t.
His face softened immediately as he spotted you, and he walked over with his usual confident stride.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted, his voice low and warm as he reached for the bag. “You didn’t have to come all the way here again.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Someone has to make sure you eat, Tim.”
He smirked, his fingers brushing yours as he took the bag. He held your gaze for a moment longer, and you felt your cheeks heat under his intense stare.
“Thanks, baby,” he murmured, leaning down to press a soft kiss to your forehead.
The small gesture made your heart flutter, but you became acutely aware of the stares from across the room.
Tim’s coworkers Lucy, Angela, Nolan, Jackson, and Harper were watching the scene unfold with varying degrees of shock and curiosity.
You tried to ignore them, but their presence only made you more self-conscious.
“I should get going,” you said softly, glancing down at your hands.
Tim frowned slightly. “You sure? You can stay for a bit if you want.”
You shook your head. “I don’t want to get in the way.”
“You’re never in the way,” he said firmly, his hand brushing against your arm. The touch was gentle, reassuring.
Before you could respond, Lucy Chen’s voice cut through the air.
“Okay, who is she? Is she the girl from yesterday?”
You froze, your eyes widening as Lucy and the others approached. Tim sighed, running a hand through his hair.
You wanted to answer and tell them the truth. You had gotten the confidence from the conversation you had with Tim last night, but unfortunately, your shyness won again.
“Not now, Chen,” he muttered, but it was too late.
Lucy crossed her arms, a sly grin on her face. “Come on, Tim. You can’t expect us to just ignore this.”
Angela joined her, smirking. “Yeah, you’ve been keeping enough secrets, Bradford. Spill.”
Nolan, ever the curious one, chimed in, “She brought you lunch again. That’s not just a random act of kindness.”
You felt your face heat, and you instinctively took a small step closer to Tim.
Sensing your discomfort, Tim placed a protective hand on the small of your back.
“Guys, this is Y/N,” he said, his voice calm but firm. “And that’s all you need to know.”
“Oh, come on,” Lucy said, her grin widening. “Y/N…what? Girlfriend? Sister? Cousin? Who is she?”
Tim’s jaw clenched, and you could tell he was seconds away from shutting them down completely.
But before he could, Angela spoke up again, her tone teasing.
“She’s too cute to be your sister. So, girlfriend it is?”
Tim let out an exasperated sigh, but he didn’t deny it. That was all the confirmation they needed.
“Oh my god,” Lucy said, her eyes wide. “You’ve been dating someone this whole time, and we’re just now finding out? For how long has this been going on?”
“Three years,” Tim said simply, his tone clipped.
The group gaped at him in disbelief.
“Three years?!” Angela exclaimed. “How and why did you keep that a secret?”
“Because it’s none of your business,” Tim replied, his hand still resting on your back.
Angela laughed. “I can’t believe this. Tim Bradford, the grumpiest guy in the station, has a girlfriend, and she’s adorable. How does that work?”
Tim gave her a pointed look. “Angela…”
She held up her hands in mock surrender. “Okay, okay. I’ll stop.”
But Lucy wasn’t done. She turned to you, her expression curious but friendly.
“So, Y/N, what’s your secret? How do you put up with him?”
You hesitated, unsure of how to respond but still laughed at her question.
Tim chuckled softly, his hand moving to squeeze your shoulder.
“She’s unbelievably patient,” he said, his tone light.
You looked up at him, surprised by the teasing warmth in his voice. It wasn’t often that Tim let his guard down like this, especially not in front of his coworkers.
“I think you’re worth it,” you said softly, your eyes meeting his.
His expression softened, and for a moment, it was just the two of you.
Lucy let out a dramatic sigh. “Okay, that’s actually kind of sweet.”
Angela nudged her. “Kind of? It’s downright shocking. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tim look at anyone like that.”
Tim rolled his eyes. “All right, that’s enough. Don’t you all have work to do?”
“Not until we get more details,” Harper said, grinning.
“You’re not getting anything,” Tim said firmly.
Before the group could protest, you turned to Tim. “I really should get going.”
He nodded, his hand dropping to your waist. “I’ll walk you out.”
The group watched as Tim escorted you to the door, their expressions a mix of disbelief and amusement.
Tumblr media
Once you were gone, the interrogation continued.
“Okay, seriously,” Lucy said, turning to Tim. “How did you pull that off?”
“Pull what off?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Her,” Angela said. “She’s way too sweet for you.”
Tim smirked. “Maybe I’m not as bad as you all think.”
The group laughed, clearly unconvinced. But beneath their teasing, there was a genuine warmth.
It was clear they were happy for him, even if they couldn’t resist poking fun.
“She should come around more often,” Lucy said. “It’s nice seeing you act like a human being for once.”
“Yeah,” Angela added, grinning. “She makes you tolerable.”
Tim shook his head, but there was a small smile on his face.
Tumblr media
When Tim arrived home, he found you curled up on the couch, a blanket draped over your lap.
You looked up as he walked in, your face lighting up with a smile.
“Hey,” you said softly.
He walked over, leaning down to kiss you. “Hey, sweetheart.”
“How was the rest of your day?” you asked, moving over so he could sit beside you.
“Exhausting,” he said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “But worth it.”
You tilted your head, giving him a curious look. “Worth it? Why?”
He smirked, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “Because I got to show off my amazing girlfriend.”
Your cheeks flushed, and you buried your face in his chest. “You’re impossible.”
“And you love it,” he teased, pressing a kiss to your hair.
You couldn’t argue with that.
The end

Forever Yours 18+
Request: How are we feeling about Tim Bradford meeting his high school girlfriend again as he's on patrol with Lucy and gets all flustered again cause you're the one for him (like you separated ways as he went to the police and you did something else but are back now) and you just feel the same old feelings. Later Lucy won't stop making fun of him cause he's always badass and now you seem to be his weak spot. Next day you visit him at the department with his favorite food and he asks you out on a date which you gladly accept. Just some fluffy cute Tim, with maaaaaybe smut at the end of their date and he won't let her leave him ever again? 😊
Next week is my bday, so I thought some Tim would be adorable !

Tumblr media
Los Angeles. You never thought you would come back here but after being away for so long you were itching to come back. Most importantly you were missing your high school crush and boyfriend, Tim Bradford. You two only split when he decided to go into the military and you wanted to become a teacher. It was a mutual break up but man did it still hurt. You two had lost contact and both of you had been too busy to try and reconnect with each other but now you were back having gotten your teaching degree and took the position as a first-grade teacher. You loved kids and they seemed to be drawn to you. It was really your true calling.
Last you heard of Tim was that he had gotten out of the military and had gone to the police academy, was married but then got divorced and he was working as a TO for LAPD. You heard all of this through his sister that you were best friends with. You had wanted to get in contact with him but school and kids kept you busy so you just let it go.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
The new school year was just about to start and you were excited. A few weeks before you had gone in and set up the classroom how you wanted and then started to figure out teaching material. A week before school actually starts you would be meeting the students and their parents for the first time. Overall, you were excited and couldn’t wait.
There was one week before school and you had gotten there early to start meeting the students and parents. The time had started and the students and parents started to slowly trickle in. Everyone you met were friendly and some of the dads even tried to flirt with you but you just smiled and continued on. You had your mind on one person and that was Tim Bradford.
It was finally the end of the day and you were exhausted but you had a lot of fun and loved seeing the kids. You made sure everything was in order and everything was cleaned then you were walking you out of the classroom and locking the door behind you. You left the school with a smile on your face. You couldn’t wait for Friday next week.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Your alarm on Friday went off early and you were getting up with a smile on your face. You turned it off and got in the shower and brushed your teeth. You walked out into your room in just a towel and started to get dressed. As you were doing so your cat, Biscuit, walked in and jumped on the bed and meowed at you, you turned and gave him some love and then you were back to getting ready. When you were done in there you walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen where your German Shepherd, Steel, greeted you. You gave Steel his food and then fed Biscuit and now you were getting yourself coffee as it was brewing you let Steel out and then when he was done, he was at the door wanting back in. You finished getting ready to leave the house. The coffee chimed when it was done and you grabbed the travel mug and headed out to your blue Toyota Tacoma.
It was a quick drive to the school and you got there with no trouble. As you were driving you looked like Tim but you were too busy paying attention to the road. You pulled into the parking lot and into the parking lot for the teachers. You parked and turned the engine off and then you were getting out and grabbing your bag. As you were walking into the building you greeted some of the other staff who were all so friendly and that made you smile.
You walked to your room and unlocked it and started to get everything ready for the day. About 7:50 AM students started to trickle in and you were at the door greeting everyone. Once everyone was in you closed the door and walked to the front of the classroom smiling and made sure everyone was sitting down. “Good morning, kiddos. My name is Ms. Y/L/N and I’m gonna be your teacher for this year. I’m excited to learn about each and every one of you and I can’t wait for the fun things I have planned for you all. It’s going to be a fun year. Now does anyone have questions for me or about me?” You asked and a few raised their hands. You looked over at them and smiled “Benson, what is your question?” You asked.
“Do you have any animals?” He asked with sweet innocent eyes and you smiled.
“I do, I have a dog named Steel and a cat named Biscuit.” You said
“Do you have pictures?” He asked and you smiled and pulled up a picture of your animals.
The rest of the morning went without a hitch. When they were at lunch you smiled and sat in your room thinking about what the plan was for the second half of the day. You were scrolling through your email and noticed there was going to be a fire drill and that they were going to bring the fire trucks, ambulances, and police in.
All the kids were back and you let them know what was going to be happening and you assured them that there was nothing to be afraid of and it was all a drill. Some still seemed scared so you said that they could come to you if they got too scared and that seemed like that helped ease them up a little bit. For now, the day went like normal and it would be happening close to the end of the day.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
“Did you hear that we have to go to the elementary school for a fire drill?” Lucy said as she and Tim were driving around making calls and making sure everything was good to go.
“Yes, I did.” Tim said, making his response short.
“How do you feel about that?” She asked
“I’m fine with it. It lets kids see the importance of what we do.” He said and she nodded seeing that he wasn’t up for any more discussing it. While they were waiting to be called to the school Tim was thinking about you and where you were. You were his high school love and he never stopped loving you even when he was married, he wanted to get back into contact with you but never seemed able to find the time but boy was he in or a surprise today. The time came and they were heading to the school along with the ambulance, firefighters, and two other shops. The point of this was to first have a fire drill and then show the importance of the first responders. Tim parked next to Talia and Nolan’s car and they headed over to the kids. Everyone was answering questions and then something, more like someone, caught Tim’s eye. He looked closer and it was you. You were bent down talking to a kid who was crying and you were trying to console them but it wasn’t working and so you picked the kid up and let them cry into your neck. He needed to see you and talk to you. “I’ll be right back.” He told Lucy and then was gone before she could say anything.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
“Hey, shhhhhh. You’re ok.” You said consoling the little boy. You were bouncing them around trying to soothe him. You didn’t even know Tim was walking up to you. “It’s nothing to be scared about. It just means that it helps on the way and they save people.” You said and he came out from your neck and sniffled.
“Really?” He asked and you smiled and were about to answer but a familiar male voice answered before for you.
“Absolutely. It means that we are on our way to save you.” Tim said and you looked up and saw him and the little boy looked at him.
“Really?” He asked and Tim smiled.
“Yup, my fellow officer John Nolan will be happy to show you and talk to you about it.” He said and then pointed over to him “He is right over there.” Tim said and the boy sniffled and nodded and you sat him down and watched him scamper off to John. Making sure he was safe before turning to Tim smiling. “You've always been so good with kids.” He said and you chuckled.
“You have too. One of the many reasons I fell in love with you.” You said and he smiled and looked down.
“It's been a while.” He said looking up at you and you nodded agreeing.
“Too long and that is my fault.” You said and his smile turned into a frown and he shook his head.
“No. That is not true. I'm the one that took off and didn't even try to contact.” He said and you shook your head.
“I'm to blame too.” You said and once again he was denying it.
“We can discuss this over dinner.” He said and you looked at him.
“Like a date?” You asked
“Exactly like that. My number is the same if you wanted to text me anytime.” He said and you smiled and nodded.
“Mine is too.” You said
“Ms. Y/L/N! She hit me!” Your student, Amber, said pointing to another student, Emma, as they ran up to you. You looked at Tim and he smiled and nodded. You bent down to the two girls. You walked back over to Lucy and the others watching you handle the situation with a smile. All he could think about was how you would deal with your and his kids and that put a smile on his face.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Tim walked back over to the group smiling. “Is The Tim Bradford actually smiling?” Lucy asked and everyone turned to see and he actually started to blush.
“He's blushing!” Angela said with a smile.
“I am not.” He said and tried to stop but he just saw the love of his life again.
“You so are! Is it because of that teacher you were flirting with?” Lucy asked and he didn't say anything and then the radio saved him and then he was quick to answer it.
“Come on Boot. We have work to do.” Tim said and walked over to his shop and she quickly followed behind him. When they got back to the shop his phone dinged and he was quick to pull it out and smiled when he saw it was you. Lucy took notice of this and she smirked.
“Is that her?” Lucy asked and Tim was quick to drop the smile and look at her.
“It’s none of your business.” He said and she rolled her eyes but smirked when she looked away, he was smiling and was quick to send a reply back and it was back to work for the both of you.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
You and Tim had been talking all week and the same old feelings were coming back. Saturday rolled around and you found out he was working and you decided to bring him and his coworkers. You loved baking and Tim knew this. You parked in a parking spot and then walked into the police station smiling. You greeted the front desk person and they smiled. “What can I do for you?” She asked.
“I’m here to see Tim Bradford.” You said and she smiled and then she paged him and he was coming down in time.
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” He asked and you smiled and turned to him.
“Well, you mentioned you were working today and thought you and your coworkers could use some baked goods.” You said and he smiled.
“Come on.” He said and you walked with him into where everyone was. It looked like they were just in for lunch. “Guys, this is Y/N. Y/N this is Angela, Talia, Lucy, Jackson, and Nolan.” He said and everyone waved as they were introduced.
“Nice to meet you all.” You said “I figured you all could use some goodies.” You said you waved your basket.
“Her cookies are to die for. They are my favorite” Tim said as you set the basket down in the break room. Tim wasn’t looking at anyone but you, everyone was smiling and looking at how lovesick he was and they were happy for him. Everyone got a cookie and they absolutely fell in love with them and they voiced this and that made you smile. “Hey, would you follow me?” He asked you and you nodded and he took your hand and led you to the briefing room.
“What’s up?” You asked as you sat on the edge of one of the tables.
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asked and you smiled and nodded.
“I would love to go on a date with you.” You said and that made him smile.
“Great! I’ll pick you up at 7 tonight?” He asked and you once again smiled.
“That sounds perfect.” You said and then you both continued to talk until he had to leave and that was cue now you had to go home and get ready for your date.
7 PM rolled around quickly and before you knew it you were opening the door to a smiling and well-dressed Timothy Bradford. “Wow.” He said and you blushed but Steel was quick to rush the door.
“Steel, off.” You said and he backed up and moved away from the door and that made Tim fall in love with you even more. You made sure to grab your keys, locking the door behind you, and the both of you headed to his truck where he helped you in and then closed the door and walked to the other side and got in and headed to the restaurant that he had picked out that he knew you would love. “So where are we going?” You asked and he smiled.
“It's a surprise but you’re going to love it. They have sushi.” He said when he looked over and saw you were about to say something and then your smile came back. “I’ve missed you. I’m sorry that I didn’t stay in contact.” He said and you shook your head.
“Nonsense. It was my fault too.” You said
“I guess it is both of our faults.” He said and you chuckled but agreed. You both were quick to get to the restaurant and he was quick to park and then was getting out and helping you out. You both walked into the restaurant and he walked up to the receptionist and he was quick to get you seated. You two talked and caught up and just had a delightful time, it was just like old times. You both ordered and now the wait for food has started.
“I missed you.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“I missed you too. It was hard to go on not knowing how you were but I was too selfish to actually text you.” He said and you nodded looking at him.
“It was hard finding out through your sister about what you were doing but it helped.” You said and he nodded and just then the food came and you both started eating and finished the date and now you were back at your house inviting him. Steel greeted you and so did Biscuit and they immediately fell in love with him and you fell back in love with him, though you never truly fell out of love with him.
You sat on the couch with a glass of wine, both of your animals had left the room so it was just the both of you, and you both leaned in and now you were kissing him and he was kissing back and neither of you were stopping each other. “Tell me to stop if you want me to stop.” He said when he pulled away and you looked him in the eye.
“I don’t want you to stop.” You said and he smiled.
“I was hoping you were going to say that.” He said and crashed his lips back into yours and he laid you down on the couch. He started to kiss your neck and then got to your sweet spot and gently bit it and that made you moan.
“Tim.” You moaned and he smirked and did it again. You clenched around nothing. You both worked on getting each other clothes off and everything was off in no time in a pile on the floor beside the couch. “I love you.” You said and he trailed down your body peppering it.
“I love you too.” He said in between kisses. He ghosted over nipples giving them equal attention but he knew where you needed him the most. This was not the first time you had sex with this man, he was your first in high school, sure you had sex with other men but nothing compared to him. He still knew how you liked it and knew all the right places to please you. He trailed down to your heated core and was quick to dive in and you moaned out throwing your head back and hands going to his head. He let up for just a second. “We can take this to the bedroom if you want.” He said and you shook your head.
“No, it's perfect here.” You said and he nodded and he was diving back into your pussy licking and sucking on your clit knowing exactly where to use his tongue to please you. “Tim.” You moaned out and bucked your hips towards him and he was quick to hold you down. Your hands left his head and they came up to clutch the couch cushions and your legs spread wider. He started swirling his tongue around your entrance and was tongue fucking you and you felt that rubber band feeling starting to tighten. “‘M close.” You moaned out but he stopped just as soon as you were about to cum. “Tim.” You moaned out in frustration but he was moving up to be face to face with you.
“What?” He asked his breath fanning you and you could smell the wine on this breath.
“I was about to cum.” You said and he smirked.
“You’ll get what you want soon.” He said and kissed you as he rubbed his cock up and down your wet folds and then let up on the kiss as he pushed into you and you both moaned. “See? I told you.” He said and all you did was moan. He stretched you in all the right places and it was like you were back in high school with him all over again.
“Tim.” You moaned and he smirked, loving the way he made you moan and the way you were gripping him. He started to move and you both moaned out.
“You’re still as tight as ever.” He said and attacked your neck with more kisses and love bites.
“You ruined all the other guys for me.” You moaned out and he gave a sharp thrust that hit your g-spot perfectly.
“Good.” He said
“You’re the only one for me.” You said and he gave another sharp thrust and then he started to go faster and you didn’t even have to ask for it. You both wanted this and you both needed it. Everything was perfect. Ever since he started to go faster it was making that rubber band feeling coming back. Each thrust was like heaven and you never wanted it to end. “I’m about to cum.” You moaned out.
“Me too.” He moaned out and picked up his pace and trailed one hand, leaving the other to keep his weight off of you, down to your body to your clit and he started to rub it, flick it, and pinch it all it was doing was making you come closer to the edge. Your orgasm was just right there and so was his.
“Tim!” You yelled out not caring who heard you.
“Cum for me.” He said and sent a flick to your clit and leaned down to bite your nipple and then you were seeing stars. Not a few seconds later his thrusts were getting sloppy “I’m gonna cum.” He said and then his hips stilled and he painted your walls right. It was a good thing you were on birth control, you thought as you and Tim came down from your highs. Tim slowly slipped out of you and then got behind you and threw an arm around you. He grabbed the blanket from off the back of the couch and threw it over you both. “I’m never gonna let you leave again.” He said and you smiled and nodded and turned to look at him.
“I’m never going to leave. Ever.” You said and he smiled and leaned down to kiss you.
“I love you.” He said
“I love you too.” You replied
You wanted this. You wanted forever with him and he wanted that with you too. You both wanted to marry each other and start a family with each other. Neither of you could wait to finally be with each other forever. You both wanted this since high school and nothing is going to get in the way of you both being together forever, not again.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
2 years later………
You and Tim had been married for 2 years now and had a 2-year-old son, Dakota. Your son was conceived on the last day of your honeymoon. Now you are 6 months pregnant with your second child, this one being a girl. Your jobs were going great and Tim had just been promoted to Sergeant which meant a bigger paycheck. Now you and Dakota were walking into the precinct to meet with your husband. You had just parked the car and got out and got Dakota out. “Kota, hold my hand when crossing the street.” You said and he nodded.
“Otay momma.” He said and you smiled and ran a hand through his hair, he was the exact copy of his father. You grabbed his hand and the both of you walked across the street and into the precinct.
“Good morning, Mrs. Bradford and Dakota.” The receptionist said and you smiled.
“Good morning, Veronica.” You said “Tim in?” You asked and she nodded.
“Yup, you know where to find him.” She said and you nodded and then you were heading to him with a hand on your sons and one on your stomach.
“Y/N! Dakota!” Lucy said and you smiled.
“Hello, Lucy.” You said and your son waved at her.
“Tim is in his office.” She said and you smiled and walked to his office. You looked into the room and saw him focusing on his work and you looked down at Dakota.
“Knock, Baby.” You said and he smiled and did so.
“Come in.” He said and you opened the door and you both stepped in.
“Daddy!” Dakota said and he looked up and smiled and walked around his desk and scooped his son up.
“Hello there, handsome. Have you been good for mommy?” He asked and he nodded.
“We went to the store, I helped!” Dakota rambled on and Tim smiled.
“You helped mommy?” He asked and looked at you and you nodded.
“Uh huh. I helped carry!” He said and he smiled.
“That’s my boy.” He said and kissed his cheek and then walked over and kissed you. “How is our little girl doing?” He asked.
“Currently being still for once but using my bladder as a soccer ball a lot.” You said and he chuckled. He put Dakota down and he walked over to the table with toys and coloring books that Tim kept for him. Tim put his hand on your stomach and immediately the baby kicked. “She must know that she has her daddy here.” You said and he chuckled and leaned down to kiss you.
“Mommy! Daddy! Come help!” Dakota all but shouted and you two broke apart.
“Ok, we’re coming.” Tim said and you followed him over there and he sat down on the ground and you sat in a chair which he helped you sit in. Tim got into helping Dakota so that you were able to lean back and watch with a smile on your face. This was the dream you always wanted with him and you got it finally after so long. You were married to the man of your dreams, had a son together, and have a daughter on the way. You rubbed your stomach as she kicked and that made you smile.
You were finally happy and couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your years with the man of your dreams since high school. They were your world and you wouldn’t trade anything for it. You loved your growing family and you knew Tim did and that made you happy. Tim looked over at you and smiled. “I love you.” You mouthed and he smiled.
“I love you too.” He mouthed and then Dakota was grabbing his attention again and you chuckled, yup you loved little growing family.

“Hey I was just about to call you, I’m wrapping up my shift but the team is heading to get drinks, figured you could meet us there? We’re going to that spot that has those mojitos you like.” Tim had a smile on his face as he answered your phone call. He was walking through the station towards the men’s locker room, ready to change out of the stench of a long patrol day.
“Before you freak out, I want you to know I’m okay.” Your voice was completely opposite of his. It wasn’t shaky for what happened, but you were solemn and still in your delivery. It was honestly silly to start your conversation this way, Tim wasn’t one to freak out, but he was one to think the worst first.
“What happened?” His voice immediately matched yours. Very typical for people that held the positions you did, to be calm under crisis.
“I got shot on shift today. I’m at the hospital.”
“You what?” Tim had stopped in his tracks immediately waiting for more information.
“My thigh, it’s not a big deal. It missed my artery but protocol is for me to be here for the next couple days.” You didn’t exactly want to get into details but you knew you had to give him some information.
“Why am I just finding this out?” Tim was now rushing to the exit doors.
“I told them not to call you, I wanted you to hear it from me, not some random SWAT member.”
“You do realize they’re not random, they come to all our barbecues, we’ve been to their weddings…” Tim was starting to argue with you. “Not to mention, I should’ve heard it on the radio.”
“Really wanna argue with me right now, Bradford?” You sighed despite the smile on your face.
“I really wanna know what happened.”
You could hear his truck engine start in the background and from that you knew he was going to be at the hospital in minutes.
“We got called in on some cartel tip, it was off-channel, stealth.” You explained knowing he wasn’t going to let it go. “I was applying aid to a hostage and it just happened.”
“I really hope you didn’t write your report that way.” Annoyance was dripping off his tone.
“Tim.” You said with the same amount of annoyance.
“No, you don’t get to be mad at me for being mad.” He was on the highway now, you could hear the change in background noise. “I’ll be there in 5 minutes.”
With that he hung up, and was in front of you within minutes. It made you wonder where he left his truck and who he talked to before getting to your room.
“Jesus.” He was at the edge of the bed looking down at you. “How you holdin’ up?”
“I’m fine, I just wanna go home.” You brushed him off.
“What the hell happened out there?” His voice didn’t sound angry like it did on the phone, he was genuinely upset.
“I told you, it happened fast, I was applying aid and then the next we were under fire.” You shook your head, not able to look him in the eye.
At that motion he walked over to the side of the bed, quickly engulfing you in a hug. “I know when you’re lying to me.” He mumbled into the top of your head before placing a kiss there.
You leaned into him, despite all his gear from his belt making it rather unpleasant to be in his embrace, it was the most comfortable you’ve felt since everything happened. You leaned into him more, gripping him closer to you when you let out a little sob.
He gently scooted you over, making sure he didn’t aggravate or even touch the leg with the bullet wound. It was just enough so that he could sit next to you in the bed and shield you from prying eyes outside.
“It’s alright.” He hummed as he rubbed your back up and down. A nurse had entered at one point and Tim just politely smiled and asked if the two of you could have a couple minutes.
The tears you let escape you were some that you hadn’t shed in years. It was buried down deep, being in your field, being at war, it did that to you, it bottled everything up and left you to deal with it at another time, and each time being more inconvenient than the last left for it to overflow now.
As you calmed down, you took a deep breath and wiped your face before looking at Tim.
“You went back.” Tim said not needing you to say anything in explanation about what happened.
“It was like I was right back in Afghanistan.” You nodded.
“Protocols are different here.” Tim tilted his head to look at you, wondering if he pushed you into this too soon.
“Yea, they got me on probation. Seeing the shrink tomorrow where they’ll figure out when I’m cleared for active duty.”
“You know, if you wanted to go back to work at the hospital, no one would hold it against you.” Tim offered up a solution that was more for him than it was for you.
“I was doing fine up until now, I think all the dust from the desert we were in, my hands wrist deep into this guys abdomen, brought me back to when you were bleeding out in front of me. Getting shot brought me back to the moment, it was like the shake back to reality I needed.” You shook your head as you thought through it all.
“Yea the shrinks gonna have a ball with you.” Tim teased you before getting serious. “You’ve always been self-aware. On top of your shit, you’ll be back on active duty in no time.”
“You sound worried.” It was obvious to notice the hesitancy in his voice.
“Just can’t help but feel like I pushed you to this.” Tim sighed deeply.
“I chose this.” You began to argue with him.
“But I planted the seed.” He argued back.
“You give yourself too much credit.” You laughed and squeezed his hand. “Remember when the Chief’s daughter came in, and I took her on as my patient, he saw how I handled everything, when they checked out, he mentioned how I might be good in TEMS. I brushed it off, but when you brought it up again, it just was harder and harder to brush it off. It just made sense.”
Tim looked down at you shocked that you never mentioned what his boss said to you.
“I’m just saying, don’t give yourself the credit for this.” You shrugged and teased him.
“I just want to make sure you’re good.” Tim got serious again after letting out a laugh from your tease.
“I’m fine, and after I see Dr. Shrink tomorrow I’ll be even better.”
“You’re not opposed to it, which is already how I know you’re fine.” Tim joked as he brought you closer to him as both of you relaxed in the bed.
“That’s that machismo stigma, I love talking to people about my problems. Which, speaking of, you didn’t take the trash out this morning.”
Tim let out a belly laugh, “I’ll be sure to take it out tonight.”
“No you won’t. You’re staying with me, Sarge.” And with that you cuddled into him as best as you could and closed your eyes so you could get as many minutes in the the most comfortable sleep you’d get while being in the hospital.

Beneath Your Beautiful: Let Me Love You
Tumblr media
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you today,” she confesses, tipping her head back to meet his eyes and settling her hand on his chest in a way that gives life to a warmth radiating through his center. How is he supposed to function when every little thing she does has him feeling like he’s melting on the inside?
“Yeah, I got that from your 332 texts,” he teases gently as he brushes his thumb along her jaw. Lucy’s steady stream of memes and ridiculous ClipToks and random, entirely irrelevant facts about sea turtles had easily been the very best part of his day. Up until now that is.
She bites her lip, little lines forming between her brows, “Was it too much?”
He finds his focus drifting from the conversation as he allows a finger to continue the journey down her neck and along her collar, finally fully processing the feel of her silk robe under his hands, the deep red of her lips, and the picture perfect waves tumbling down over her shoulders.
“Tim,” a tinge of a whine enters her voice as she tries to draw his attention back to her question. But if it’s conversation she’s interested in, she has absolutely chosen the wrong outfit. He leans in for a better look — what exactly is that bit of lacy black fabric peaking out from the deep V-neck of her robe?

Title is from Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift
Tumblr media
Lucy stood on the side walk, hands on her duty belt, and eyes on her current training officer, Scott Wrigley as he asked the woman they had just pulled over to see her licence, registration and proof of insurance. The woman willingly, gave him the documents, and Lucy found her attention wandering away from the woman in the car, and surveying the area they were in.
Lucy, truthfully, was bored. While Tim was hard on her, he was a good, solid cop, that did the job because he wanted to make a difference in the world. Wrigley, while also a good, solid cop, was only there for a pay check. He was there to write tickets for 12 hours a day, get paid, and go home to his children without a scrape on him. And while Lucy respected that, it just wasn’t for her. She wanted to make a difference, and sitting here, taking only the tame calls, was not doing that. She knew she just had to stick it out for a little longer, and Tim would be back, but she was starting to think she was going crazy.
So crazy that she was now having auditory hallucinations. Auditory hallucinations of a baby crying.
They were in the middle of nowhere, which was rare in Los Angeles. All that was here was empty, and long abandoned warehouses. There was no reason for a baby’s cry to be heard around here. Lucy shook her head, trying to get the noise to stop, and focus back on her temporary TO.
“You hear that, Chen?” Wrigley asked, stopping as he was walking back to the car.
“Hear what, sir?” She responded, expecting him to say something dumb like ‘the silence of a calm day,’ or something like that, just to unintentionally rub it in her face that she was bored out of her fucking mind with him.
“The baby crying,” he said, and Lucy stopped. He could hear it too? She thought to herself. If he could hear it too, that meant one of two things. 1) they were both going insane, or 2) the baby’s cry that she was hearing was from an actual baby. And she knew which one was more likely than the other.
“Yes sir, I do.” She said, looking around. “Do you want me to go find where the baby’s cry is coming from?”
Wrigley furrowed his eyebrows. “Why would we do that?” He questioned.
“Isn’t…that why you mentioned it?” She asked, thoroughly confused. “Look where we are. All that is here is empty and abandoned warehouses, why would we be hearing a baby cry here? We should be making sure that everything is okay before we leave.”
Wrigely smirked at her. “Good job, Chen.” He said, and Lucy dug her nails into her palm to stop her from rolling her eyes. He was testing her. “Go check it out while I fill out this paperwork.” She nodded, and headed off in the direction that she heard the cry.
The cry was growing louder as she turned the corner, ending up in an alleyway between two abandoned warehouses, covered in graffiti. She continued to follow the cry as she approached a dumpster. Her stomach was in knots. Surely if it was a parent and their baby, she would have heard the parents voice, right? Surely no one would have left their defenceless and helpless infant to fend for themselves, right?
Wrong.
Lucy walked to the other side of the dumpster, and she gasped, her heart pounding. On the ground, beside the dumpster, was a baby, who couldn’t be older than a few hours old, judging by the umbilical cord still attached, and how the baby, who upon closer inspection was a girl, was haphazardly wiped off and placed in a broken wicker basket.
Next to her, was very obviously her mother. There was a pool of blood covering her upper thighs and the ground underneath her, and used needles spread around the scene, including one still stuck in her upper arm. Lucy grabbed her radio, and pressed down.
“Control, this is 7-Adam-19 requesting an RA and a supervisor at Cromer Lane, in the first alleyway on the left, I have a 10-50, code 3.” Lucy placed her radio back, and crouched down next to the baby, doing her best to comfort the little girl without picking her up, despite how much Lucy wanted to.
“It’s okay, sweet girl,” She whispered, reaching into her duty belt for a pair of gloves. She slid them on her hands, and reached over to the baby’s mother in order to try and see if she could feel a pulse. Her heart broke for the sobbing baby girl when she couldn’t feel one.
She heard sirens in the background, as well as boots hitting the ground, clearly Wrigley running to see what was happening after hearing her call on the radio.
“Oh my god.” He whispered from behind her.
“I need something to wrap the baby in,” She said to Wrigley, and he started to retreat, mumbling something about grabbing an emergency blanket from the shop.
He returned less than a minute later, and Lucy grabbed the package from him, ripping it open. She shook the blanket to get it to unfold, before she wrapped the small infant up, holding her close to her chest, hoping some of her body heat would transfer through the blanket.
The sirens got closer, and Lucy began to see the flashing lights reflected on the brick wall across from her. Wrigley was talking to her, but she wasn’t hearing or processing anything coming out of his mouth. All that she could focus on was the tiny little baby in her arms, who was calmed down, and was just staring up at her, her small brown eyes looking up into Lucy’s.
“It’s gonna be okay,” She whispered. “You’re gonna be okay.” She heard the doors of the ambulance open behind her and paramedics rush to her side. A female paramedic crouched down next to her, and began to ask her questions about the baby and her mother.
“She seems to be okay, physically at least.” Lucy rambled, her eyes not leaving the tiny baby. “She can’t be more than a few hours old.”
The paramedic nodded. “Judging by the shaking, I’m assuming her mother was using her entire pregnancy.” Lucy nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. She watched carefully as the paramedics cut the umbilical cord, and then continued working on trying to resuscitate her mother, with no success.
They gave her 2 doses of Narcan, did CPR, and tried the AED, but nothing worked. She was gone, and had probably been gone since before Lucy and Wrigley arrived on scene.
“We have to take her to the hospital,” The paramedic beside Lucy stated, standing up. Lucy did the same, as Grey and Wrigely walked up to her.
“I’m coming with,” she stated.
“Boot-“ Wrigley replied, clearly frustrated with how hard headed she was being.
“I’m going.” She stated, firmer. She then turned to Grey, and looked at him for approval. He nodded at her, a smile on his face.
“Go with her, Chen.” He said. “Let us know if theres any updates.”
Lucy smiled. “Yes, sir.” She said, before following the paramedic, and climbing in the back of the ambulance. They were pulling away a few moments later, and were headed to St Stephens.
Lucy was able to stay with the baby until they reached the NICU. She was then told that they needed to do an assessment on the infant, but that someone would come and grab Lucy when she was able to go see her. She sat down in the uncomfortable hospital waiting room chair, and glanced around at the other families in the NICU. She didn’t know any of their stories, but they all had one thing in common; they were here because they wanted their baby to be okay.
And while that tiny little baby wasn’t Lucy’s, Lucy was the one who found her, who called for help, who held her and comforted her when she needed it the most. She had no one at the moment, so there was nowhere else Lucy would rather be than here, supporting this little girl.
“Officer Chen?” A voice said to the right of her. She looked up, and stood up when she saw the doctor.
“Yes?” She said, coming face to face with the nurse in charge of the infant. “Is she going to be okay?”
The nurse smiled. “She is very lucky, officer.” Lucy let out a breath that she didn’t know she was holding at that. “She is very healthy. She does have traces of meth in her blood, but it is a very minuscule amount. It should leave her system within the next 8 to 24 hours.”
Lucy nodded. “Okay. Thats good. I was thinking the worst.”
The nurse nodded. “She is a very lucky little girl. I have contacted DCFS, and they are going to send someone as soon as they can, it appears that they are very backed up at the moment. Is there anything you need from me?”
“Uh,” Lucy stuttered, racking her brain for the protocols to follow in this situation. “No, not right now. I will have to wait for my supervisor or training officer to proceed, but in the meantime, am I able to go sit with her?”
The nurse nodded, and began to turn. “Of course, follow me and I’ll take you to her.” Lucy began to follow the nurse down the hallway. “Actually,” the nurse said. “Would you be up to kangaroo cuddling with her? Being so young, she definitely hasn’t had skin to skin with anyone, and skin to skin is very beneficial to an infant as young as her.”
Lucy found herself nodding immediately. “Of course, whatever she needs.” Lucy trailed after the nurse into the dark and quiet NICU room, glancing at the two other bassinets in the room, each with what she presumed to be family around them, either gazing into the bassinet, or holding their baby. Lucy’s eyes met the bassinet holding the baby she had found, and her heart broke seeing the infants tiny body with wires and tubes coming out of her body, even though she had much less equipment than the other two infants in the room.
“She’s so small,” Lucy whispered, looking into the bassinet.
“She’s actually the biggest baby on the ward at the moment.” The nurse said, pointing to the chair for Lucy to sit in.
“So she was full term then?” Lucy said as she laid her duty belt on the table next to her, and unbuttoning her uniform shirt.
The nurse nodded. “Yes, she was. And perfectly healthy, other than the meth in her system, which is surprising. It seems that her mother did try to abstain from drug use while pregnant, but she most likely slipped up towards the end.”
“Wow.” Lucy said, taking off her white undershirt and laying it on top of her uniform shirt. “That’s not something I see too often.”
“Me either,” The nurse agreed, as she lifted up the infant and tucked her legs up, bringing her over to Lucy. Lucy opened her arms, and let the nurse rest the baby on her chest. Lucy immediately wrapped her arms around the baby, cuddling her as close as she could without hurting her. The nurse then laid a light pink blanket over the two of them with a smile.
“If you need anything, just press the nurses button, and someone will come and check on you. And I will come and get you as soon as DCFS or your superiors show up.”
Lucy nodded, her eyes not leaving the baby. “Thank you.” The nurse nodded, and headed out of the room. Lucy slowly began rocking back and forth in the chair, looking intently at the baby, who was wiggling around, head bobbing up and down on Lucy’s chest as she tried to get comfortable.
Once the baby found a comfortable position, she opened her tiny mouth in a big yawn, and shut her eyes, falling asleep within seconds on Lucy’s warm skin. Lucy chuckled quietly, and began rubbing her hand up and down on her back, letting her get some well deserved sleep.
After a few minutes of silence, there was a crash in the hallway from a cart crashing into a wall, and the baby jolted awake, before bursting into tears. Lucy immediately sat up, and hushed the baby in her arms.
“You’re okay, sweet girl,” she whispered. “I know, that was loud, huh?” The baby hiccuped, and her tears slowly began to stop. Her eyes were open, and Lucy smiled. “It’s okay.” She continued speaking to the infant. “You’re safe with me.” She leant down and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
The baby yawned again, and Lucy smiled at her, cupping the back of her head, rubbing her thumb back and forth against her soft skin.
“I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I’ll never let you go,” Lucy began to sing, her eyes not leaving the baby. “When all those shadows almost killed your light, I remember you said don’t leave me here alone.
“But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight,” The baby didn’t move, just continued to stare up at Lucy as she sang. “Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now.”
A lump formed in Lucy’s throat as she gazed down at the infant in her arms. She couldn’t understand how lucky she was that Lucy was near the warehouse when she was. Despite being in Los Angeles, it was still December, and the temperature plummeted at night time, and had she been out there a few more hours, she would have died.
And now, this tiny, defenceless orphan, who’s life only started today, had no one. Had no mother, more than likely no father, and she was about to go into the foster care system if DCFS couldn’t find a next of kin within a few days. And what made it worse, was how Lucy was already dreading putting her down. She didn’t want to put this baby down. She wanted to keep holding this little girl. She wanted to take her home, love her, protect her, and raise her.
She took a deep breath as the baby’s eyes fluttered shut, and fell back into a peaceful sleep. She thought about offering to take her in, at least until DCFS found next of kin for her, if they were able to at all. She could, she was an emergency foster parent, and had been since she turned 20. She had an apartment in a safe part of the city, and made more than enough money to support the two of them.
“You’re gonna be okay,” she said to the baby. “You’re gonna come home with me, and I’m going to keep you safe. I promise.”

Tim's eyes caught hers and for a moment she felt breathless under the weight of his steel blue eyes. "Boyfriend?" "I said partner", she clarified, knowing fully well what it would sound like to everyone else other than cops. "If I recall correctly, I'm your superior", Tim pointed out. "No sign of amnesia then."
Prompts: "You told me to move on" & Tim asks Lucy to lay with him in the hospital bed and she says no because she doesn't want to hurt him. Tim says "you could never hurt me" and "please, I need you"

Maybe [Tim Bradford Imagine]
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N is heartbroken and her partner Tim comforts her.
It was one of those days. The sun blazed in the sky, casting an unforgiving heat on the streets of Los Angeles. Tim Bradford wasn’t in the best mood; it was as though the entire world had conspired to irritate him that morning. He'd barely spoken to anyone during their morning briefing, snapping at the rookie who had asked him an innocent question. His mind was clouded, restless, and nothing seemed to go right.
Tim’s usual stoic demeanor had become even more gruff, and his eyes kept flicking to the side, trying to avoid the presence of his partner, Y/N. It wasn't that he didn’t want to talk to her. In fact, he'd always enjoyed their conversations—her dry wit, her sharp observations, and the way she could make him smile even on the darkest days. Today, though, he was irritable and for reasons he couldn’t quite put his finger on, he just couldn't seem to shake the mood.
Y/N, on the other hand, was unusually quiet. Normally, she was the one with the jokes, the one who could turn any mundane patrol into a light-hearted adventure. But today her gaze was distant, her usual spark missing.
Tim noticed it immediately. He tried not to care, tried to focus on the endless line of cars before them but he couldn’t ignore how she seemed to shrink into herself, shoulders slumped and eyes fixed ahead as if there were a weight she was carrying.
“You alright, Y/N?” Tim asked, glancing over at her, his voice softer than usual. He wasn’t great with feelings, especially his own, but something about the way she was acting tugged at him.
Y/N sighed, brushing a stray lock of hair out of her face. “I’m fine, Tim. Just… thinking.”
Tim raised an eyebrow. He wasn’t buying it. They’d been partners for long enough that he could tell when something was off. “Thinking about what?”
Her eyes flicked toward him for a moment before they returned to the road. “I guess I was just… hoping things would work out differently with someone I like. But, guess I was wrong.”
Tim’s heart dropped. He hadn’t known Y/N had a crush on anyone, let alone that it was causing her so much pain. He couldn’t help but feel an ache in his chest, a strange pang of jealousy that he didn’t fully understand.
For a moment, the car was silent except for the hum of the engine and the occasional radio crackle. Tim was trying to think of something to say, something to make her feel better, but words always failed him when it came to this kind of thing.
After a long pause, Tim exhaled heavily. His voice low but steady. “Y/N, you’re one of the strongest people I know. If anyone deserves someone who sees how incredible they are, it’s you.”
She blinked, clearly not expecting the sincerity in his words. “You don’t have to say that, Tim,” she replied softly, but there was a trace of sadness in her voice. “I’m fine.”
Tim looked at her for a moment, really looked at her—at the way her lips were pulled tight, as though she was holding back tears. He didn’t know what had happened with this guy she liked, but seeing her like this stirred something deep within him. Something protective. Something more than just a partner’s concern.
He bit his lip, contemplating. Finally, in his usual gruff manner.
“You’re more than fine, Y/N. You’re amazing. Don’t let anyone make you think you’re not worth their time. You’ve got a lot to offer, and if this guy doesn’t see that, then it’s his loss.”
Her head turned sharply toward him then, her expression softening. “You really think that?”
“I do,” he said firmly. “And I don’t just say that because I’m your partner. I say that because it’s the truth. You’re smart, you’re tough, and you’re… well, you’re pretty damn beautiful, too.”
Y/N blinked again, this time caught off guard. She wasn’t sure what to make of his words. Tim Bradford wasn’t the type to throw compliments around, especially ones like that. But there was something in his eyes now—something that made her stomach flutter, something that made her question if he meant more than what he was saying.
She chuckled lightly, though it was a little shaky. “You’re not too bad yourself, Bradford.”
Tim’s gaze softened. There was something more behind his gruff exterior, something deeper that he rarely let anyone see. Something that made him want to reach out and tell her everything he was feeling, but his usual walls were too high for that.
Instead, he just shrugged, trying to hide the emotions that were threatening to spill over. “Just stating the obvious,” he said, his voice gruff again, trying to cover up his vulnerability.
For a moment, Y/N didn’t know what to say. She’d always thought of Tim as a friend, a colleague—a reliable partner—but hearing him speak so honestly, so openly, made her wonder if there was something more between them. Something she hadn’t realized before.
She smiled softly, a genuine warmth that reached her eyes. “Thank you, Tim,” she said, her voice steady now. “I needed to hear that.”
Tim nodded, his expression softening. But he didn’t say anything more. They continued their patrol in silence and the air between them had shifted. Maybe it was just a moment, or maybe it was something more.

Hey 😊 I love your writing sooo much !
Would you maybe write a Tim Bradford imagine where you're also a TO and you're having feelings for each other but you both try to ignore them, not to let them get in your way during the job. One time that changes as like in the episodes where Lucy gets kidnapped, it's you instead of her after a date gone wrong. Tim is on the edge the whole time till they find you. And when he sees you in that barrel, barely alive, his world crashes. Of course you can be saved and he stays at the hospital all the time. When you get home he also insists on taking care of you and there he also finds the courage to tell you his feelings properly, how much he loves you and that he'll always be there to protect you. I hope that's okay with you 💗🫶🏼
I’m not going anywhere
Summary: Tim and Y/N, both tough and dedicated TOs, struggle to suppress their growing feelings for each other. When Y/N is abducted after a date goes wrong, Tim refuses to back down, risking everything to find her.
Note: I'm so glad you enjoy my stories, love! 🫶 Thank you for this amazing request, I absolutely love the idea! I decided to give it my own spin to keep it unique and fresh instead of copying the entire episode. I hope you enjoy it! 🤍

Being a Training Officer was never easy. You were expected to mold rookies into dependable cops, but it was also your job to keep them alive.
Every shift brought challenges that tested your patience and skills, especially when you worked alongside someone like Tim Bradford.
Tim was a force of nature. His bluntness could crush egos, his discipline was unmatched, and his loyalty ran deeper than any badge.
As a fellow TO, I admired him more than I cared to admit. But admiration had morphed into something more, something complicated.
I had feelings for him. And it was maddening.
Tim was infuriating. He challenged me at every turn, pushed me to my limits, and managed to crawl under my skin like no one else ever had.
But then there were the moments that made my heart ache:
the quiet glances when he thought no one was watching, the softness in his voice when he checked on me after a tough day, the way he never let anyone, rookie or otherwise, disrespect me.
We would also text each other back and forth to check in on one another.
It got to the point where if one of us didn’t respond within an hour, we assumed something was wrong.
That’s what normal colleagues do, right? Checking up on one another, or am I just fooling myself?
For months, I’d buried those feelings, telling myself that they were a distraction I couldn’t afford.
This job was dangerous enough without the added complication of being in love with my colleague.
Still, there were moments when I wondered if he felt the same.
I mean, someone like Tim Bradford wouldn’t just know my favorite coffee order for no reason, right?
Tumblr media
The station was already filled with people when I arrived, the smell of burnt coffee and stale paperwork filling the air.
I was halfway to my desk when I heard Tim’s voice behind me.
“You look like you didn’t sleep,” he said, stepping beside me.
“Good morning to you too, Bradford,” I replied, rolling my eyes.
“I’m serious,” he said, giving me a once-over and putting the coffee he got me down on my desk.
“Late night?”
“Something like that,” I muttered, collapsing into my chair.
His eyes narrowed slightly. “Work-related?”
“No.”
He didn’t ask further, but the tension in his jaw told me he wanted to.
The truth was, I’d been on another date last night.
For weeks, I’d been trying to distract myself from my feelings for Tim by going out with guys I barely knew.
The dates were always the same, awkward conversations, forced laughter, and a growing sense that I was wasting my time.
But I kept trying, convinced that if I could just find someone else, I’d stop thinking about Tim every second of every day.
“How’s the rookie?” I asked, steering the conversation away from myself.
Tim sighed. “Still green, but they’ll get there.”
Before he could say more, Angela appeared, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Well, if it isn’t the dream team,” she teased, leaning against my desk.
“What do you want, Lopez?” Tim asked, crossing his arms.
“Nothing,” she said innocently.
“Just enjoying the sight of you two pretending you’re not completely into each other.”
I nearly choked on my coffee. “Excuse me?”
Angela smirked. “Oh, come on. It’s obvious to everyone but you two.”
Tim’s ears turned red, and he muttered something under his breath before walking off.
“You really need to do something about that tension,” Angela said, winking at me.
I glared at her. “There is no tension. Besides, I'm going on a date later tonight." I added to make her shut up.
“Sure, but we both know the real reason why you're going on that date,” she said, walking away with a laugh.
I glanced at Tim, who was now at the other end of the room, barking orders at a rookie.
For a moment, our eyes met, and my heart did that stupid fluttering thing I hated so much.
Angela might have been onto something.
Tumblr media
That evening after my shift, I found myself sitting across from Eric, my date for the night.
He was tall, dark-haired, and charming in a way that felt almost too polished.
We’d met at a coffee shop a week ago, and while I hadn’t been particularly interested, I’d agreed to go out with him.
“So, what made you say yes?” Eric asked, flashing me a grin.
“Honestly? I don’t know,” I admitted, sipping my drink.
He laughed, leaning back in his chair. “Well, I’m glad you did.”
I nodded, but my mind wasn’t really on him. As he talked about his job in finance, I found myself comparing him to Tim.
Eric was nice, but he didn’t have Tim’s sharp wit or his quiet strength.
“You’re distracted,” Eric said suddenly, his voice breaking into my thoughts.
“Sorry,” I said quickly. “Long day.”
“Let’s fix that,” he said, signaling the bartender for another round. “How about we go somewhere quieter after this?”
I hesitated, knowing I shouldn't agree to go with a stranger but I wanted to forget about Tim.
His charm had a rehearsed quality, and his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. Something about Eric felt... off.
But I pushed the thought aside, chalking it up to my overactive imagination.
“Sure,” I said, forcing a smile
Eric’s apartment was in a run-down building on the outskirts of the city.
The moment I stepped inside, unease crept up my spine.
The place was sparse, too sparse, and smelled faintly of chemicals.
“Nice place,” I said, trying to keep my voice light.
“Thanks,” Eric replied, locking the door behind us.
When I turned to face him, his expression had changed. The easy smile was gone, replaced by something darker.
“You’re a cop, aren’t you?” he asked, his voice low and sharp.
I froze. Not understanding why that was important. “What?”
“I saw your badge the other night,” he said, stepping closer.
My heart raced. “Eric, I think you’re confused—”
Before I could finish, he grabbed my arm, his grip bruising.
“You cops think you’re so smart,” he snarled. “Always sticking your noses where they don’t belong.”
“Let go of me,” I said, trying to pull away.
He didn’t. Instead, he shoved me against the wall, his hand clamping over my mouth.
“You’re going to regret this,” he hissed.
Panic surged through me as he dragged me toward a side door. My mind raced, searching for an escape, but he was too strong.
The last thing I saw before everything went black was the glint of a syringe in his hand.
Tumblr media
When I woke up, my head throbbed, and my body felt heavy. I was in a dark, cold room, my hands bound and my mouth gagged.
Eric stood over me, a twisted smile on his face.
“Slept well, officer?” he taunted.
I glared at him, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a response.
“You thought you could mess with me?” he continued, pacing. “Well, now you’re going to see what happens when people cross me.”
He opened a barrel in the corner of the room, the metallic smell making my stomach churn.
“No one’s coming for you,” he said, lifting me effortlessly and shoving me inside.
As the lid closed, plunging me into darkness, I fought to stay calm. I couldn’t die here. Not like this.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Tim paced through the station, his instincts churning. Something was wrong.
He couldn't explain it, but the nagging feeling in his gut had only grown stronger since Y/N hadn’t responded to his messages.
It wasn’t like her to leave him hanging, and she always checked in after her shifts or when she went out.
He tried to push the thought aside, she was a grown woman, capable and strong, but it wouldn’t leave him.
Tim knew her routines, and her habits, and something didn’t add up. He checked his phone again.
Nothing.
“Where is she?” he muttered under his breath, frustration bubbling over.
Back at his desk, Tim pulled out his phone and shot her another text:
“You home safe?”
The minutes ticked by, and there was no response.
He told himself she was probably asleep or didn’t hear her phone. She always replied, though. Always.
Another text: “Y/N, call me when you get this.”
Tim stared at the screen, waiting, the worry clawing at him now. He scrolled through their recent messages, trying to reassure himself.
Her last text had been earlier in the evening: “Heading out now. Have fun working your long shift!”
It sounded normal. Casual. But he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
He stepped out into the hallway and called her phone. It rang and rang before going to voicemail.
“Y/N, it’s me. Call me back when you get this, alright? Just… let me know you’re okay.”
He hung up, his chest tightening. Something was definitely wrong.
Tim called her again, then again, but there was no answer.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath, pacing back and forth.
He decided to start with the basics. Heading to Grey’s office, Tim knocked and stepped in without waiting for an answer.
“Bradford, what can I do for you?” Grey asked, looking up from his paperwork.
“Have you seen Y/L/N? She didn’t come back to the station tonight, did she?” Tim asked, keeping his tone steady, though his mind was racing.
Grey shook his head. “No, she clocked out on time. Why?”
Tim hesitated. “No reason just hadn’t heard from her. Thought she might’ve stayed late.”
“Everything okay?” Grey’s perceptive gaze lingered.
“Yeah. I’m sure it’s fine.” Tim turned and left the office, though his gut told him otherwise.
Tim strode into the bullpen, where Angela Lopez and Nyla Harper were deep in conversation over their laptops.
“Have either of you heard from Y/N?” Tim asked abruptly.
Angela looked up, frowning. “Not since this morning. Didn’t she have a date tonight?”
The word date hit Tim like a punch. “Do you know where?”
Angela shook her head. “She didn’t say much, just that it was someone new she met online. Why?”
Tim’s jaw tightened. “She’s not answering her phone.”
Nyla set her coffee down, her sharp instincts immediately kicking in. “How long has it been?”
“Hours,” Tim admitted, his frustration evident. “She always checks in. This isn’t like her.”
Angela exchanged a glance with Nyla.
“Alright,” Nyla said, standing up.
“Let’s figure this out. You said she had a date, does she use any apps? Maybe tech can pull her messages.”
Angela nodded. “She mentioned using something, but I don’t remember the name. Let’s get tech on it.”
Angela grabbed her phone, calling tech support while Nyla placed a calming hand on Tim’s shoulder.
“We’ll find her, Bradford,” she said firmly. “You know Y/N, she’s tough. She wouldn’t go down without a fight.”
Tim didn’t respond, his jaw clenched tightly.
Tumblr media
The bullpen was full of people and their voices, but to Tim, the noise was a distant hum.
His focus was razor-sharp, his jaw clenched so tightly that his teeth ached.
He loomed behind the tech analyst’s desk, the tension radiating off him making the others keep their distance.
Angela and Nyla exchanged concerned glances nearby, but no one dared to interrupt him.
“Anything yet?” he barked, his voice cutting through the room like a whip.
The analyst flinched slightly but kept typing. “I’m pulling her dating app data now. It’s just taking a moment to decrypt the server.”
Tim’s fists clenched at his sides. Every second felt like a lifetime.
Y/N was out there, somewhere, and the thought of her being in danger gnawed at him like a vice around his chest.
Finally, the analyst straightened. “Got something!”
Tim surged forward, leaning over the desk as the analyst brought up a profile on the screen.
“She was messaging a guy named Eric Dawson,” the analyst explained, scrolling through the messages.
“They had arranged to meet at a bar in Eagle Rock.”
Tim’s heart pounded. “What bar?”
“Solana’s Tavern,” the analyst replied.
Nyla crossed her arms, her brow furrowed.
“That area’s rough. Not exactly where you take someone on a first date.”
Tim’s chest tightened further. “Pull traffic cams from outside the bar. I need to know if she made it there and if she left.”
The analyst nodded and got to work, typing furiously. The tension in the room was suffocating as everyone watched the screen in silence.
Tim paced behind the desk, every step heavy with barely restrained anxiety.
“Tim,” Angela said softly, approaching him.
“Maybe you should take a beat. Let us handle this.”
He spun around, his eyes blazing. “No. She’s counting on me. I’m not sitting this one out.”
Angela held up her hands in surrender, backing off.
“Got it!” the analyst said, breaking the silence.
Footage from a traffic camera outside the bar flickered onto the screen.
They watched as Y/N appeared, her expression hesitant as she walked into the bar.
“There she is,” Angela said, pointing at the screen.
Tim leaned closer, his eyes locked on the image of Y/N.
He barely noticed how hard his hands were gripping the edge of the desk.
The analyst fast-forwarded the footage, scanning for her exit. About an hour later, Y/N appeared again, walking out with a man.
The guy had his hand on her arm, his grip firm, his body language all wrong.
“She doesn’t look comfortable,” Nyla said, her voice low.
“He’s leading her. She’s not willingly going with him.”
Tim’s stomach churned. “Run his plates,” he snapped, his tone sharp.
The analyst zoomed in on the car the man guided Y/N towards, pulling up the plate number.
Seconds later, the vehicle’s registration information appeared.
“The car is registered to an address just outside the city,” the analyst said.
“A warehouse on the outskirts of town.”
“That’s it,” Tim said, already moving.
He grabbed his vest and radio. “Gear up. We’re heading there now.”
“Tim,” Grey’s voice called, cutting through the chaos.
Tim stopped but didn’t turn around.
“You need to stay focused,” Grey said firmly, stepping closer.
“I know how much this means to you, but if you’re too emotional, you’ll compromise the operation.”
Tim turned, his eyes hard. “With all due respect sir but again, I’m not sitting this one out.”
Grey studied him for a long moment before nodding. “Fine. But keep your head on straight. She’s counting on you, and I can't afford to lose one of my best officers.”
Tim nodded sharply, strapping on his vest.
“Let’s move,” he said to Angela and Nyla, his tone leaving no room for argument.
With the rest of the team following behind.
Tumblr media
The warehouse loomed in the distance, a decrepit shell of concrete and rust that felt suffocating even from the outside.
Tim’s heart pounded in his chest as he and the team moved in silently, weapons drawn.
Every instinct screamed at him to hurry, but he forced himself to stay focused.
This wasn’t just another rescue mission. This was Y/N. His Y/N.
And he was barely holding it together.
They moved through the darkened halls, their flashlights sweeping over scattered debris and abandoned machinery.
The air was thick with the smell of oil and mildew, but there was something else, a faint metallic tang that Tim couldn’t quite place.
It turned his stomach.
“Clear,” Angela said, her voice steady as they swept one room after another.
Tim’s jaw clenched. Every second that passed felt like an eternity, and with each empty room, the knot in his chest tightened.
“Over here!” Nolan’s voice cut through the tense silence.
Tim turned, his flashlight catching the glint of something metallic in the corner of the room. A row of barrels.
“No...” he whispered, his legs moving before his brain could catch up.
The closer he got, the stronger the smell became, an acrid mix of chemicals and fear.
He dropped to his knees in front of the nearest barrel, his hands trembling as he pried the lid off.
Empty.
He moved to the next one, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
“Bradford,” Angela said gently, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“No!” he snapped, shaking her off. “I’m not stopping.”
The third barrel was heavier. He could feel it as he pulled at the lid, his muscles straining. And then it came loose.
Tim’s flashlight illuminated the inside, and his entire world shattered.
It was her.
Y/N was curled inside, her body limp, her skin pale and clammy. Her wrists were bound, the rope digging so deeply into her skin that blood had dried in angry, red streaks.
Her breathing was shallow, her chest rising and falling so faintly he almost missed it.
“Y/N!” he choked, dropping his flashlight and reaching in to pull her out.
“Get a medic!” Angela yelled, her voice distant as Tim focused solely on Y/N.
He cradled her against his chest, his hands shaking as he checked for a pulse. It was there, but weak.
“Come on, Y/N,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “Stay with me.”
Her eyelids fluttered, and for a moment, he thought he’d imagined it. But then her lips parted, and a barely audible whisper escaped.
“Tim...”
Relief surged through him, hot and overwhelming.
“I’m here,” he said, brushing the hair from her face. “I’ve got you. You’re safe now.”
Her head lolled against his chest, and he tightened his grip, as if holding her closer could somehow shield her from everything she’d been through.
The paramedics arrived moments later, but to Tim, it felt like hours.
He reluctantly let them take her, his hands still hovering as if afraid she’d disappear if he didn’t keep touching her.
As they loaded her into the ambulance, Angela placed a hand on his shoulder again. This time, he didn’t shrug it off.
“You did good,” she said softly.
He didn’t answer. All he could think about was the sight of her in that barrel, the life nearly drained out of her.
And how he never wanted to feel that kind of fear again.

The first thing I felt was pain, dull, throbbing, and constant pain.
It was everywhere, but especially in my chest, like I couldn’t breathe deeply without it stabbing me from the inside.
My eyes fluttered open, and I was greeted by a blinding white light that made me squeeze them shut again.
I tried to move, but my body protested. My throat was dry, my lips cracked.
“Y/N?”
The voice was soft, deep, and familiar. I forced my eyes open again, squinting, and slowly turned my head toward the sound.
“Tim…” I croaked, barely above a whisper.
He was right there, leaning forward in the stiff hospital chair like he’d been glued to it for hours.
His hands were gripping mine tightly, and his face was a mixture of relief and worry.
“You’re awake,” he said, his voice rough and unsteady.
His eyes softened as they roamed over my face like he couldn’t believe I was actually there.
“Where am I?” I asked, my voice barely audible.
“You’re in the hospital,” he said, sitting up straighter. “You’re safe now. We found you.”
The memories started flooding back. The date. The man. Everything.
My heart rate spiked, and the beeping from the monitor beside me quickened.
“The barrel…” I whispered, my voice breaking.
Tears stung my eyes as I remembered the cold, the suffocating darkness, and the terror that had gripped me when I thought I’d never get out.
Tim’s hand tightened around mine, grounding me.
“It’s over. He can’t hurt you anymore,” he said firmly, his voice laced with a quiet rage.
“I thought… I thought I was going to die,” I admitted, my voice trembling.
Tim’s jaw tightened, and he leaned closer. “You didn’t. You fought, Y/N. You held on long enough for us to get to you. And I swear, nothing like this will ever happen to you again. I won’t let it.”
Tears slipped down my cheeks as I looked at him.
His face etched with so much emotion that it was hard to believe this was the same Tim Bradford who kept his feelings so close to his chest.
“Thank you,” I whispered.
He shook his head, his thumb brushing over my knuckles. “Don’t thank me. Just… promise me you’ll be more careful. No more dates with guys like that.”
I let out a weak laugh that quickly turned into a wince. “You don’t have to tell me twice.”
His lips curved into the faintest smile, but the worry in his eyes didn’t fade.
Tumblr media
The drive back to my place was quiet. Tim insisted on taking me home himself after I got discharged.
I didn’t have the energy to argue. My ribs ached with every bump in the road, and the painkillers they’d given me at the hospital were starting to wear off.
When we got to my place, I reached for the door handle, but Tim was faster.
He was already out of the car and opening my door before I could even unbuckle my seatbelt.
“You don’t have to hover, you know,” I said, trying to inject some humor into my voice.
“You’ve barely been out of the hospital for a day,” he shot back, ignoring my attempt to downplay things.
“I’m not taking any chances.”
I didn’t argue. Honestly, I didn’t want to be alone.
Inside, Tim helped me settle on the couch, propping me up with pillows and making sure I had everything within arm’s reach: water, my phone, and even the remote for the TV.
“Comfortable?” he asked, standing in front of me with his arms crossed.
“Yes, officer Bradford,” I teased, giving him a tired smile.
He smirked but didn’t respond. Instead, he disappeared into the kitchen, and I heard the faint clatter of dishes.
A few minutes later, he returned with a cup of tea.
“Here,” he said, handing it to me carefully. “Drink. Doctor’s orders.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Since when did you become so domestic?”
“Don’t get used to it,” he said, sitting down in the armchair across from me.
We sat in silence for a while, the tension between us thick and unspoken.
I sipped my tea, glancing at him occasionally, and each time I did, I caught him staring at me like he was afraid I might disappear.
“You know,” I said finally, breaking the silence, “you don’t have to stay. I’ll be fine.”
Tim frowned. “I’m not going anywhere. End of discussion.”
There was a finality in his tone that told me arguing would be pointless. Still, I couldn’t help but ask,
“Why?”
His jaw tightened, and he looked away, his fingers tapping restlessly on the armrest.
“Because I need to make sure you’re okay,” he said quietly.
Something in his voice made my chest tighten. “Tim…”
“I thought I lost you,” he said, cutting me off.
His eyes met mine, and for a moment, all the walls he kept so carefully constructed were gone.
“Do you know what it felt like, finding you like that? You were barely breathing, Y/N. I’ve seen a lot of horrible things on this job, but nothing ever scared me like that.”
I set the cup down, my hands trembling. “I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“Don’t be,” he said firmly. “This wasn’t your fault. But I can’t—” He stopped, his voice breaking.
“I can’t go through that again.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked at him, my heart aching at the raw emotion in his voice.
“I’m still here, Tim,” I said softly.
His shoulders relaxed slightly, and he nodded. “Yeah. You are.”

Later that evening,
The room was quiet, the soft hum of the TV filling the background.
I was cocooned in a blanket, my body still aching, but the dull pain was nothing compared to the storm of emotions swirling inside me.
Tim was sitting close, his arm stretched along the back of the couch, his presence steady and comforting.
Without thinking, I shifted closer, leaning my head against his shoulder.
It wasn’t intentional, or maybe it was, but it felt natural like this was exactly where I was supposed to be.
Tim didn’t move. He didn’t say a word, but I could feel him tense slightly under my touch.
“I’m sorry,” he said suddenly, his voice cutting through the quiet.
I lifted my head, glancing at him in confusion. “For what?”
“For everything.” His eyes were fixed on the TV, but he wasn’t really watching it.
“For not seeing the signs. For not protecting you. For letting this happen to you.”
“Tim…” I reached out, placing my hand lightly on his arm.
“You couldn’t have known. It wasn’t your fault.”
He finally turned to look at me, his blue eyes swirling with guilt, and something deeper, something I couldn’t quite put into words.
“That’s not all I’m sorry for.”
A knot formed in my stomach. “What do you mean?”
Tim hesitated, his jaw tightening as if he was debating whether or not to say what was on his mind.
Then, he shifted, turning his body toward me fully. “I’ve been holding something back. Something I should’ve said a long time ago.”
My heart began to race. I swallowed hard. “Tim…”
He shook his head, cutting me off gently. “Just… let me finish.” He took a deep breath.
“When I saw you in that barrel, when I thought I might lose you, I realized how much I’ve been lying to myself. About you. About us.”
His words hit me like a freight train, and I struggled to find my voice. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying…” He paused, his voice soft but steady.
“I’m in love with you, Y/N. I’ve been in love with you for months. And I’ve been too much of a coward to say it because I thought it would mess everything up. The job. Us. But after what happened…”
His voice cracked slightly, his vulnerability breaking through. “I can’t keep pretending anymore. I can’t lose you without you knowing how I feel.”
I stared at him, my heart pounding so hard it drowned out the noise of the TV, of the world.
Tears welled up in my eyes, and before I could stop myself, I let out a shaky laugh.
“You have no idea how much I needed to hear that,” I whispered.
Tim’s brows furrowed slightly in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I mean…” I took a deep breath, the words spilling out before I could overthink them.
“I’ve been going on those dates to forget about you.”
His eyes widened, shock flickering across his face. “What?”
“I thought…” My voice cracked, and I looked down at my hands, suddenly unable to meet his gaze.
“I thought you’d never feel the same way. I thought if I distracted myself and forced myself to move on, I could stop feeling this way about you. But it never worked. No matter what I did, I couldn’t stop thinking about you, Tim.”
Silence settled between us, heavy and charged. Then, Tim let out a breath, his shoulders relaxing slightly. “You should’ve told me.”
“I was scared,” I admitted, finally looking up at him.
“Scared of ruining what we have. Scared of losing you.”
“You’re not going to lose me,” he said firmly, his voice leaving no room for doubt.
He reached up, his hand gently cupping my cheek. His thumb brushed away a tear I hadn’t realized had fallen.
“Not now. Not ever.”
I leaned into his touch, my heart swelling with relief, with joy, with everything I’d been holding back for so long.
“You mean that?”
“Every word,” he said, his eyes locked on mine.
Slowly, he leaned in, and my breath caught in my throat.
He gave me every opportunity to pull away, to stop him, but I didn’t. I didn’t want to.
When his lips finally met mine, it was soft and tentative at first, as if we were both still testing the waters.
But then it deepened, carrying months of unspoken emotions, of longing, of everything we’d tried so hard to ignore.
When we finally pulled apart, I let out a breathless laugh, leaning my forehead against his.
“That was a long time coming.”
“You’re telling me,” he said, a small smile tugging at his lips.
I pulled back slightly to look at him, my expression turning serious. “What happens now?”
He smiled softly, his eyes warm and filled with a rare tenderness.
“Now, we take it one day at a time. No rush. No pressure. But I promise you this: I’m not going anywhere.”
Tears stung my eyes again, but this time, they were tears of relief, of happiness.
I smiled, leaning into his embrace as his arms wrapped securely around me.
“I think I can live with that,” I murmured, my voice muffled against his chest.
And in that moment, wrapped in his arms, I felt more at peace than I had in weeks.
Maybe even months. No matter what challenges lay ahead, I knew one thing for certain:
We’d face them together.
The end

You never know what the day will bring until it happens. You never liked surprises but being married to a police officer, being one, and having a 6-year-old daughter surprises happen all the time. However, even though you hate surprises you love your police officer husband, Tim Bradford, you love your job, and you love your daughter, Molly Bradford. You wouldn't trade anything for it.
You and Tim have been married for 12 years. Those 12 years have been wonderful. During your 6-year anniversary was when Molly was created, while you were celebrating in London, and 9 months later she was born. She is the spitting image of her father and acts like him. She officially got the nickname Mini Tim just because she was the literal female version of him and you wouldn't have it any other way.
The story of you and Tim meeting was pretty funny. You and Tim hated each other and actually butted heads. You both went against each other on every call and decision, you still do on some things. To be honest it was sexual tension and everyone could tell you were pining for each other, they all had bets on when the two of you would get together. The tension finally broke when the both of you were on call and he pulled you in the alleyway to tell you off and you weren't backing down after a few minutes of arguing and getting closer and closer he grabbed your face and you grabbed his wrists as he smashed his lips upon yours and the rest was history.
Right now, you were cuddled up with her husband sleeping soundly with your daughter two doors down on the other side of the hall. None of you had to be up for the next hour. Tim had your back pressed up against his chest as you faced the bathroom and front door. As the hour came closer to an end you began to stir and so did your husband. You turned to face him. “Good morning.” He said in a voice still full asleep.
“Good morning.” You said opening your eyes to find smirking blue ones looking back at you.
“You're so beautiful.” Tim said and you blushed and hid your face into his chest no matter how long you've been together he was still able make you blush and sweep you off your feet.
“Oh, stop it, Timothy.” You said and he chuckled as he kissed your head. You enjoyed being in each other's arms in peace and quiet. “Don't forget we have Molly's soccer game after work.” You said after a beat of silence.
“I remember. I wouldn't miss it for the world.” He said and that was true if either of you were on patrol you both would show in your shops. It was the same if one of you were on patrol and the other wasn't.
“I wouldn't either.” You said as you laid in his arms, eyes closed as he rubbed his hand up and down your back not knowing what today would bring, another hour passed and it was close to time to get up. The two of you didn't get to relax too much longer until you heard the pitter patter of a set of footsteps walking closer to your room and the door opening. You both looked over and smiled as her face appeared through the door.
“Hi, Baby Girl.” Tim said and a bright smile broke out onto her face.
“Hi Momma, hi Daddy!” She said and walked in crawling between the two of you.
“Hi, Baby.” You said and kissed her forehead as Tim snuggled her. It was scary at how strikingly similar they looked. “Are you ready for your game today?” You asked and she nodded.
“Practicing every day. I’m ready for it.” She said and you smiled.
“Daddy has been helping you, hasn’t he?” You asked looking up at Tim as Molly nodded. You would have been out there helping too but you had been feeling down and sickly for the past few weeks especially the mornings but it hadn’t hit you this morning… yet.
“He’s really good at it.” She said and you smiled.
“He really is.” You said looking up at him smiling.
“Go get ready for the day and I’ll make you breakfast.” Tim said and she nodded and headed off.
“You’re such a good dad.” You said and he rolled his eyes but smiled.
“You’re such a good mom.” He replied and you frowned.
“I haven’t been lately.” You said frowning and did too.
“It’s not your fault that you’ve been under the weather.” He said and you knew he was right but you still felt guilty. “Start getting ready and I’ll meet you in the kitchen.” He said and you nodded as he kissed your head and got up heading out of the room and into the kitchen. You sighed and got up getting ready for the day.
After getting ready and throwing up in the shower you made it into the kitchen where your husband and your daughter were finishing up cooking breakfast. Having heard you, your daughter turned around and smiled at you. “Hi Momma.” She said rushing over to you and hugging you.
“Hi, Baby. What are you and Daddy cooking?” You asked
“Your favorite.” She said and you smiled as she rushed back over to Tim finishing helping him. Once the food was done, he plated up a plate for her and sent her to the table as you walked over to him.
“You doing, ok?” He asked as he was plating up another plate.
“Yea, I threw up in the shower but I’m ok now.” You said and he frowned.
“I think you need to get checked out. I’m worried about you.” He said and your heart swelled. He was so caring.
“I will at lunch.” You said and he nodded and kissed you as he handed you your plate. You kissed him back.
“Good I don’t like it when my girls are sick.” He said as he pulled back from your lips. You smiled and walked over to sit next to Molly and he was soon to join. Breakfast was eaten in love and laughter after everyone was done and you and Molly cleaned up Tim went and got ready for the day. When he was out the kitchen had been cleaned and everything Molly needed was together. Then all three of you were walking out the door heading to drop Molly off at school.
Once Molly was dropped off at school Tim drove the both of you to work. “What if I’m pregnant?” You asked as he was nearing the station.
“Then that’ll be great. We’ve talked about having another kid.” He said as he pulled into a spot and you stayed quiet. He parked and turned to you “Look at me.” He said and you did so “Whatever happens if you're pregnant or not I will be there with you every step of the way. If you are then that is great because I really want a second kid and we’re ready for it. We both have a steady income and we are in a good place right now. If you’re not then that is ok too, we’ll keep trying if you want to.” He said as tears steadily streamed down your face.
“I love you. I really want a second kid too.” You said and he smiled bringing his hands up to cup your face gently.
“I love you too.” He said and wiped the tears away with his thumbs and then kissed you. He pulled away and looked at you with so much love in his eyes that it made your heart melt. After a few minutes the both of you got out and headed into the precinct his arm slung over your shoulder and you snuggled into him. As you both were walking you ran into Angela.
“Good morning, Bradfords.” She said, smirking.
“Good morning, Angela.” You said
“You’ve been crying… are you ok? What did you do Tim?” Angela said and his mouth fell open.
“I did nothing!” He exclaimed and you chuckled.
“It’s true he didn’t do anything. I’ve just been emotional and he said the sweetest thing to me.” You said and she nodded but glared at him.
“If I find out that is not true. I know where you sleep.” She said and he rolled his eyes. “Hurry up and change, we need to get started.” She said and you smiled and nodded and that is what the two of you did. When the both of you had changed and met outside of the locker rooms the two of you headed to the briefing room and sat down together. Where Tim was a TO you were not, you had the option to be one but decided against it. The briefing went quickly and before you knew it you were out on the road starting your shift.
The start of your shift was easy and quiet and you usually liked that but now it had your mind wandering to your conversation with Tim. You both were ready and your house was big enough plus you had two extra rooms. As he said the two of you had a steady income and you both were ready for another child. As you started thinking a call came through saying that backup was needed to clear out a homeless spot, your husband responded and so did you so you drove over there. When you got there you parked next to Tim’s and Lucy Chen’s, Tim’s rookie, shop and got out as he began to speak. “All right, listen up! Till tomorrow at 3 PM the stretch of line between Melrose and Franklin will be off limits! Sanitation services will be arriving in 20 minutes, you’ll have until then to pack up!” He said as you looked back at him after checking some people out. “Rope off block.” He said to a fellow officer. He then turned to look at you “Make sure everyone moves.” He said to you and you nodded as he headed off and you and Lucy began to make people leave. You walked over to a homeless sleeping man.
“Sir,” You said as another homeless man woke him up “Sorry to wake you but I’m going to you to start packing up, alright?” You asked as he set up and looked at you.
“Bitch!” A woman yelled which caused you and Lucy to look up “Those are my sneakers! Get-” She yelled and a fight began.
“Hey hey stop it!” She yelled as the both of you took off to stop the fight. You got in between them and they started attacking each other around you and sent the three of you into a pile of trash. You felt something prick you but paid no attention to it. Tim was quick to rush over and grabbed the other woman.
“That’s enough. That’s enough.” He said as he pulled the one lady up and held her back cuffed as you got on top of the woman who started it and cuffing her.
“Hands behind your back.” You said pulling out your cuffs. “Stand up.” You said standing her up.
“Bradford.” Tim said keeping it professional you looked at him as he looked down “Stop. Don’t move.” He said and you looked down confused and then you saw the dirty needle sticking out of your side and you froze mind racing. You looked up at him with panic written on your face. Lucy took the woman you were holding and another officer took the one Tim was holding. He pulled out gloves and knelt down. “Y/N.” He said looking up at you and you looked down at him he didn’t like seeing you like this. He started to ask you questions about protocol and you answered them with ease but you weren’t really there.
“I’m going to miss Molly’s game. I’m gonna put her in danger.” You said as he worked to remove the needle.
“No no you’re not. We’re going to get this out. Then go to the hospital and get you tested. You’re going to be ok and you’ll be able to see Molly play tonight. You’re going to be ok.” He said as he pulled the needle out and dropped it in a bag. He stood and put a hand on your lower back and started to walk you to your shop. “Lucy, take the shop. Meet us at the hospital.” He said and she nodded. He put you in the passenger side of yours and then got in the driver’s side and started off towards the hospital.
“Tim, this is bad. I’m going to put everyone in danger.” You said not really making sense as sped to the hospital with lights on and it was quickly approaching.
“Baby, you’re not. You’re going to be ok.” He said as he pulled into the hospital entrance. “You’ll be ok.” He said as he parked and then got out and came over to your side and opened the door and you got out and walked into the entrance and to the receptionist and he looked up at you.
“Hi, I need to get my blood tested. I got stuck with a used hypodermic needle.” You said
“Oh. Yea. One sec.” He said as he started to look around for something and then pulled out a clipboard. “If you could fill this out and have a seat in the waiting room, we’ll be right with you.” He said and you took it looking at it so out of it not even noticing his mistake and Tim did not like what he said to you because he became furious as he walked up to the counter and you looked up at him.
“You must be new. There’s no experienced nurse that would let an armed cop sit with civilians. What do you think happens if someone attempts to grab her weapon?” He asked furiously.
“I-” He started but Tim cut him off.
“The hospital protocol dictates that an armed officer be seen immediately. So set her up in a room right now and find a doctor.” He said fuming.
“Yes sir. Right this way.” He said getting up and you looked up at him and started to follow him with Tim right behind you. They set you up in a room and you were still zoned out. Normally he would need to go back to work but there was no way in hell he was leaving you, his wife and mother of his child, alone. A doctor came and took your blood and then left. You got on your phone and started looking things up. Tim saw this and took it away from you. “Stop, please. Falling down the WebMD rabbit hole isn’t going to change the results.” He said and you nodded.
“What if I get Hep C from this needle, and one day I get shot and you’re trying to stop the bleeding and you forget that, you know you have a– you have a cut on your hand? Or I get cut and Molly gets in on her and she has a cut?”
“Then you’ll be a cop with Hep C and a cut. Baby, you signed up to put your life on the line. That also means your health, too. Focusing on fear isn’t gonna change the outcome. Do you want to hang out in the worst-case-scenario panic room, or do you want to get back to work and make it to Molly’s game?” He asked, you knew he was giving you tough love and he knew that was the only way you would listen. “Go splash some water on your face. Let's get back out there and finish the shift so we can go watch our little girl play.” He said and gave your phone back and you took it. “I love you.” He said as he brought you into a hug and kissed your head.
“I love you too.” You said hugging him back. You both walked out of the room to be met with Lucy and Wade Grey.
“How are you holding up?” He asked you.
“Shaken but ok.” You said “I’m going to stick around here until the results.” You said and he nodded and looked at Tim.
“I’m guessing you’re staying too?” He asked and nodded.
“I’m not leaving my wife in a time of need.” He said and Wade nodded.
“I understand.” He nodded “Lucy you’ll be with me until everything is figured out.” He said and she nodded and then they were leaving. You looked over at Tim who was still looking at you. Now it was time to kill time. It didn’t take long for the results to come back; you and Tim were going back into the room. The doctor did her introductions to Tim and then she was telling you the results.
“Well, the results came back and you don’t have Hep C but it also showed something interesting.” She said looking at the results and your heart started pounding. “Your hCG level was greater than 5 which usually shows when a woman is pregnant.” She said.
“Are you saying... That I’m pregnant?” You asked and she smiled.
“I am. Congratulations mom and dad.” She said and you looked at Tim and he wore an expression of many emotions but the most noticeable was happiness. “I am going to put you on antibiotics just in case of infection.” She said writing a script out and handing it to you. “Again congratulations.” She said again smiling and then walking out of the room.
“Pregnant. How are you feeling Daddy?” You asked, smiling up at him.
“Wonderful. Excited. How about you, Mommy?” He asked and you smiled.
“Pretty much the same.” You said and he smiled and kissed you “Let’s finish out the shift and get to Molly’s game.” You said and he smiled and nodded and started walking out of the room as you stopped.
“What?” He asked quickly.
“We’re gonna have to tell her she’s going to be a big sister.” You said and he smiled.
“Yea we are.” He said as he brought you under his arm and the two of you started to walk out. The rest of the shift went by with a breeze especially with you feeling like you were on cloud 9 after hearing the results you just found out. As you were back at the precinct getting ready to end the shift when Angela stopped you.
“Alright what is up with you?” She asked and you raised an eyebrow at her.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You said
“Bullshit. Spill.” She said and you smiled a cheeky smile.
“I don’t have Hep C but I do have another thing going on with me.” You said and she started smiling.
“Are you pregnant?” She asked and you nodded.
“I am.” You said confirming it.
“I’m so happy for you. I’m guessing Tim was there when you found out?” She asked and you nodded.
“He seemed way happier.” She said and you chuckled then the both of you were going to change. You both gossiped and talked as you changed and then you were walking out meeting Tim.
“Il take it you told her.” He said and you nodded.
“You know I was going to anyway.” You said and he nodded. You three walked out the parking lot and then said bye to her and then you and Tim were getting into his truck heading to the soccer field at the elementary school. Tim parked and the two of you got out of the truck heading to the field as a voice no voices called your name. You turned around and everyone was hurrying to meet you. “Hey guys!” You said.
“Hey.” Everyone said
“What are you guys doing here?” Tim asked
“We wanted to see Molly play.” John Nolan said and you smiled.
“Well, she’ll be happy to see that you guys are here.” You said
“We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Jackson West said and you smiled again.
“Well, we better go secure some seats.” Tim said and that is what you did. The game started shortly after finding seats. Everyone cheered on Molly and after 90 minutes the game was over with Molly’s team winning. After the other team and their team congratulating each other, she was running over to you and Tim. Tim picked her up and spun her around and she giggled and that brought a smile on your face and the others, they were so happy to see him happy.
“I guess with everyone here. We can share the news.” You said and Angela was smiling from ear to ear along with Tim. “Molly.” You said and she looked at you from Tim’s arms.
“How do you feel about being a big sister?” You asked and a smile broke out onto her face.
“Really?” She asked and you smiled and nodded.
“Yes, Baby.” She squealed and you chuckled. She had been asking for a sibling for a while and now you made one of her dreams come true.
“Congratulations you two!” Lucy said and you thanked her.
“Another Bradford running around. I don’t think the world is ready for that but we sure are.” Jackson said and everyone chuckled.
“That is amazing. So happy for the two of you.” Nolan said and the both of you thanked him as you did the others.
“I already knew.” Angela said and everyone chuckled. As you were surrounded by the ones you loved, the events of today were pushed to the back of your mind. Sure, it was a critical moment but you were with your husband through it all and that made it easier. You didn’t have Hep C but now you two were having a second kid and you couldn't wait.
*9 months later*
You laid in the hospital after having been in birth for 12 hours. You were exhausted but you delivered a healthy baby boy, Samuel ‘Sam’ Bradford. A shirtless Tim currently held his sleeping son as Molly was on the couch sleeping. Tim was staring down at his son with a smile and adoration on his face. You took a picture and sent it to the group message and almost immediately everyone replied. “I can feel you staring.” He said looking up and you smiled at him.
“I can’t help it.” You whispered and he smiled.
“You did great, Baby.” He said getting up and coming to sit/lay on the bed next to you, you looked down at him. You ran a finger over your son’s cheek and he stretched and then snuggled closer into Tim while leaning into your touch. He kissed your head.
“He looks like you.” You said “Which I’m not mad about.” You added and he chuckled and shook his head.
“No, he looks like you.” He said
“Whoever he looks like he is going to be a heartbreaker and a heart throb.” You said and chuckled.
“You got that right.” He said and you yawned.
“Get some sleep, we’ll be right here.” He said quietly and nodded as you leaned into him and got comfortable. As you closed your eyes as Tim’s lips met your hairline once again you smiled, you were surrounded by your family and you wouldn’t have it any other way. “I love you three.” He said quietly and with that you fell into a peaceful sleep.

Tim Bradford x F!Nurse!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of bullets, war, shrapnel, anxiety, worry, car accidents. Slightly angsty.
Word Count: 1.2k
A/N: Okay so I just caught up with all The Rookie seasons and I’m just LIVING for Chenford. Like LIVING. buuuuuut I noticed there wasn’t much Tim x Reader fic out there soooooo I figured why not! This idea came to my head at some point when I was watching and I also have like a whole story of their life beyond and before this moment but enjoy this little reworked snippet from 2x08.
The Rookie Taglist: @drabbles-mc @justreblogginfics

It had felt like a long day already and you had only been clocked in at the hospital for two hours. You still had 10 hours left in your shift and it felt like you experienced a whole day’s worth already. Being a corpsman for a Marine squad prepared you for a lot but sometimes the uniqueness of LA and the people who resided in it and tended to need your RN medical services at St. Stevens ran you for your money.
Currently, you were updating patient charts during the lull that was likely to last all of two seconds but it beat staying an extra hour to finish your paperwork likely unpaid because the hospital rarely approved overtime for RNs.
“Wanna tell me why it’s so crazy for a Tuesday?”
The statement from your coworker caused you to look at them over your shoulder and let out a laugh.
“I wish I had an answer to that, but I also feel like anything I say will jinx it even more.” You pushed the computer cart against the wall and moved over to your coworkers cart. “You’ve got like 15 pages here, what is this?” You picked up the manila folder that was larger than your normal ER patient folders.
“Police car accident. There’s a few of them in the ER right now, these things always include tons of paperwork. Everyone needs to cover their asses.”
Your heart started to beat faster at the mention of a police accident but what really caused you to go into panic mode was seeing your husband's name on the report.
Before you could even answer your co-worker you were moving down the stairs, knowing the elevator would take too long. You knew the elevator would probably be quicker but the thought of standing still while you waited for and in it would drive your mind crazy so rushing down the stairs was the better alternative.
Tim was sitting on one of the ER beds, the scene of it caused you to stop for a minute. It wasn’t the first time you’d seen Tim hurt waiting to be treated. In all honesty this was probably the tamest medical treatment scenario you two had been in together. He looked fine from afar, but that didn’t stop the worry from boiling in your gut.
“What happened?” You were next to him within seconds, the worry being the fuel of moving you from the staircase entrance to his side in seconds.
“I rear ended a civilian.” Tim knew better than to try and calm you down with pleasantries and relaxing mantras.
“Jesus.” Your hand moved to your pocket in search of your pen light. Quickly, you flashed it in front of his eyes, searching for his eyes to constrict and then dilate when you moved the light away.
“They already did this.” Tim’s voice was neutral, but you knew he was annoyed.
“Humor me.” Your head tilted, now your own annoyance was clear to him.
His eyes softened as they met yours and he nodded which gave you the okay to keep running through the trauma checklist in your head.
“This isn’t like you.” Tim said after a few minutes of silence between you as he humored you by lifting up his arms as you pressed down on his ribs and checked his reflexes.
“In what way?” You talked as you continued to look him over.
“I’ve come home and told you I’ve gotten shot at and you barely react, I tell you that I got into a car accident and you’re acting like I have internal bleeding.” Tim’s eyebrows raised.
“Did they do a CT scan? You could have internal bleeding. Especially if the airbags went off.”
“Doc.” The use of the nickname only 13 people in the world knew you as caused you to stop your examination of Tim and stand in front of him, slightly defeated.
“If I worried about every close call you encounter everyday, I’d be dysfunctional. This.” You pointed towards him and the bed, “This is tangible. This actually happened.”
Tim nodded and a smirk slightly filled his face.
“You doubtin’ me, Sarge?” You frowned as you asked him, using your own nickname for him.
“No,” Tim let out a chuckle and shook his head before looking back up at you. “I know better than to ever doubt you.”
“Smart man.” Officer Lopez walked up to the two of you with a smile. “How’s he doin’?” She looked between the both of you.
“He’s fine. No signs of a concussion,” you looked at Angela and then back at Tim, “and no signs of internal bleeding.” You smirked at him knowing he was going to give you one back.
“Give us a minute, Lopez?” Tim stood up and ripped the hospital bracelet off his wrist.
“Yea, just wanted to let you know the break lights were cut in the car you hit, foul play, you’ll likely be in the clear.” She explained while looking at the both of you, relief coming as a sigh from both you and Tim. “I’ll be in the lobby.” She nodded at him and squeezed your arm to say goodbye before leaving the ER.
“We goin’ back to the conversation we were having or a new one?” You asked Tim as he towered over you.
“You pulled shrapnel out of my abdomen in Afghanistan and you look more worried checking me for a concussion.” Tim said with his arms crossed. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing.” Your one worded answer wasn’t convincing.
“Don’t lie to me.” Tim said more seriously than any of his other statements.
You sighed, “Like I said, this is tangible. In Afghanistan, we weren’t exactly given the space to worry. Here, I feel like it’s all I have to hold onto. But again, if I held onto every worry I’d be dysfunctional. I know you can handle yourself when bullets are flying, when shit goes sideways, it’s these out of your control scenarios that just get me flustered.” You explained moving your hands around as you talked.
Tim brought you in for a hug, knowing nothing he’d say could change anything. “You do realize, I’m the one that rear-ended the civilian, not the other way around, right? Totally in my control.” He teased you.
“Not according to Angela.” You corrected him and he chuckled.
“I’ll see you tonight.” He placed a quick kiss on the top of your head.
“See you tonight, I already texted Angela all the concussion signs in case we missed anything.” Letting your last bit of worry out.
“You haven’t missed a single diagnosis or injury since I met you, Doc!” He called out from a few feet from you.
“You know, I’m technically not a doc, anymore, Sarge!” You yelled out to him.
He turned around with his arms up as he continued to walk backwards. “And I’m not technically a Sargeant anymore.”
“Old habits die hard!” You yelled back just before the elevator doors opened and he stepped backwards into the elevator flashing you a quick smile before the doors closed and he was back on duty.

Miss Me While You Sleep (1/?)
Premise: When a stalker targets pop star Lucy Chen, her manager insists on hiring Tim Bradford as her shadow. But she’s not making it easy for her new bodyguard.
Fandom: The Rookie Ship: Tim Bradford x Lucy Chen (Chenford) Rating: Teen. Category: Bodyguard AU Words: 1,215
A/N: This story is inspired by a hurt/comfort prompt sent by @cariantha. This fic got away from me and I decided to make it a mini series (the prompt will be featured in part 2). I'm using Bodyguard AU prompts 2 & 3 from @creativepromptsforwriting. Tagging for reblog to @creativepromptfills.

Tim Bradford stood military straight inside the entrance of the luxury condo in Wilshire. The black suit, white shirt and gray tie that was his uniform fit comfortably on his muscular frame.
Whatever misgivings he had about his new job, his employer knew the importance of their bodyguards — correction, security professionals — matching their clientele’s vibe. And that meant paying for custom suits, streetwear and whatever else, designed by an up-and-coming LA designer.
Tim checked his watch. If he’d known it would take this long to convince a spoiled pop star she needed protection from an obsessed stalker, he’d have brought popcorn and a gun magazine to pass the time.
He scanned the soaring ceilings, expensive but minimalist furnishings and the grand piano facing the floor-to-ceiling glass wall overlooking the LA skyline. The walls held a mix of dreamy watercolors, dramatic black and white photographs, framed magazine covers and commemorative gold records.
Crossing his arms in front, he strolled towards the glass wall and watched clouds drift lazily across sunny skies outside. And tried to ignore the loud voices from the room off to his right.
It was hard as his new client insisted on screaming at the top of her lungs, using the voice that had catapulted her from a nobody on a reality television singing competition to a household name to full effect.

Beneath Your Beautiful: Reckless Behavior
Tumblr media
A wave of guilt washes over Tim as he glances down at his phone — Lucy’s pretty face lights up the screen as the device begins to vibrate. He hesitates.
He’s technically still supposed to be on desk duty today, but he’d just been getting so damn antsy cooped up in his windowless office all morning. Surely a few hours taking low-risk calls on patrol for the afternoon couldn’t actually hurt anything?
It was a short-sighted impulse that he’s now regretting. What if she’s back at the station today looking for him? He hates the idea of not being there for her.
He shakes himself out of his guilt trip — the only certainty right now is that screening her call will guarantee he isn’t there for her in this moment.
He hurriedly swipes across the screen to answer before the call goes to voicemail, “Lucy?”
“Tim.” And there’s something in her voice that immediately puts him on edge.
