it was fun drawing Toji slightly younger than usual. Yuuta also looks a little different than i usually draw him, bc those were canon events in the dream so i thought i'd try to make Yuuta look slightly more like how Gege draws him ? mostly this meant making his hair thinner though sdfsgdhfg

it's become kind of customary that when i struggle with this comic, i end up unwinding on another project and realizing i need to put less pressure on myself, and then things get better for a while

unfortunately, brain is fucked this time. for reasons completely outside of my control, my brain got fucked up specifically in relation to this comic project. so i'm gonna have to work on fixing that before i can get anything else done

the next part is entirely sketched and i started inking it before Things happened

i'm sure it's frustrating for those of you who enjoy this project of mine, but believe me. it's worse for me. i want to work on this comic, i want to keep this story going. and i will

one day i will make Yuuta happy. one day i will have him able to live with The Horrors and not lose sleep over them all the time. one day he will defeat the brain fucker

still dont see how so many people say that dawntrail is poorly written in comparison to other expansions like. what, did you realize you had to learn about a new culture and immediately not care anymore lmao? you've done it before, was this one not white enough for you?

genuinely i think more people should do side quests during msq so idk you can form a heart about the characters you're interacting with if you struggle with that and understand the land better so when impactful shit happens your illiterate ass can actually read and have empathy. theres no excuse for this.

if you can't handle storybuilding and character introductions from the expansion that feels like stormblood and shadowbringers had passionate gay sex that got one of them pregnant and birthed a beautiful daughter they both love and care about then idk what to tell you, maybe youre just lame and can't read. best of luck with that.

the true horror of garten of banban is that, when you look at their (and by their i mean mostly just faris) old games, its clear they wanna make weird kinda creepy artsy psychological horror games, but none of them managed to take off or do well, so they decided to hop onto mascot horror, a genre known for low effort slop games that get absurdly popular no matter how shit they are, and THATS when they finally got their big break. but deep down they still wanna make weird psychological shit and thats how banban ended up being half skibidi toilet hello neighbor poppy playtime, half silent hill 2. incredible

(mouthwashing) curly being stuck in insulating foam has been on the brain lately, something like the role he took on as a captain trying to stabilize the relationships on the ship leading in some way to everything falling apart, the foam protecting the hull of the ship from being breached and total collapse, curly being ripped out of it causing his perspective to change. do you get me!!!

I think its so interesting that like it's so heavily implied and directly stated that Curly felt stuck and trapped in his current life. His prospects were good but he felt stagnant like the Captain of the ship is all he'll ever be.

The impact rock his perspective but getting pulled out of the foam really did it. Like I think what people miss is that the fire likely didn't take all his skin off, not even the impact. The foam likely did most of the real damage to him in taking off the already damaged skin and dismembering him.

You completely get it in that the foam is like him in a way. It helped in all the wrong ways, he survived, they survived but he's barely doing so. All the resources are blocked off sort of how he had to be the one to make the choices with the scanner. It helps by holding things together, but is what it's trying to hold together even worth it?

Do you think Curly regretted not asking himself that about his relationship with Jimmy?

Rarity redesign + some mlp au stuff!!!

bit of concept-context for 2nd art: while going through infection stages, blood fully evaporated from her body. as any other pony, she wasn't supposed to stay alive after last phase, but due to the magic of elements of harmony she did survive. now through her veins flows crystallized substance and she's crystal alicorn. she's not mortal being anymore, and never will be one again. crystal liquid also flows through her butterfly wings, making them more stronger and resistant to Sun.

i'm still not sure about lore of this AU, though. i was thinking about making Celestia (she gonna become Daybreaker :)) and partly Luna as some sort of antagonists, like the main sourse of infection?

i also had this idea where Twi just went down the path of evil, becoming the villain of the story (it's not really about infection tho, but can be turned into infected au too. i still remember episode where Twi went insane and forced all the ponies to fight for the toy????). at some point she understood she's going to witness all her friends dying (the last friendship lesson, yk), since she's quite immortal, so... using elements of harmony, she did turn them into immortals too (very friendly of her!!)
