I love how the entire DCMK fandom is imploding rn over a non-canon movie.
Like, calm your pants, jeez. Gosho might take from non-canon films but if it isn't in the manga, it isn't canon.
This is like watching everyone's live reactions to Code Lyoko Evolution except its in real time.
#dcmk#dcmk spoilers#dcmk m27 spoilers#detco m27#btw i don't ship kaishin#like at all#i only ship the canon couples and heishin#but i think its funny how the entire fandom is imploding over a noncanon film#thats still divorced from detco despite gosho's involvemnt#say it with me#if it isnt in the manga it isn't canon

Ok I keep kicking this back and forth so I'm gonna leave it up to a poll just to gauge what you guys think.
I would want to approach this in as non-argumentative a way as possible, with the purpose of course being to clear up misconceptions about their canonicity, as well as to give people a better understanding of how media like this exists alongside their source material.
What I've written here would be the foundation of the post, so there would be some overlap, but it would definitely be more in-depth, using examples from film novelizations and video game novelizations that I personally own, drawing comparisons from film clips or screenplays and corresponding cutscenes.
#i most-likely won't make it until after i get all my leon posts cranked out finally#but i really just wanna put things into perspective for people that like#no the novelizations for the most part aren't canon#but that's really ok. you can just.. prefer that version of the story.#whether that be out of personal preference or for the sake of fanfic or self-insert or whatever#you don't need shit to be explicitly canon to have fun#like the DI manga isn't canon either but do i cling to the idea that leon sends hunnigan selfies while in the field??#fuck yeah i do that's so stupid and i love it to death#that's MY personal canon now babey#and it's ok that it's not OFFICIAL canon#that one panel gave us insight to leon's character and that's all it was MEANT to do#i'm also just so tired of fandom authorities pushing incorrect info/interpretations/canonicity and intentionally misleading people#bc they want to warp canon into smth it isnt#and it's like dude it's OKAY that these things aren't canon#why are u so afraid of the series not being tailored to your exact specifications

Gaap Goemon appreciation post/ Character Analysis
because I need y'all to hype him up as much as I do.
I was a fan of the Mairimashita Iruma Kun anime many moons ago, and just recently I got back into it. Finished the manga. Walked away loving the entire Misfit class. Most of all, I see a criminal lack of Gaap content. So, here's why I love Gaap and why I think you should too.
By all accounts, there isnt a whole lot of focus or information about Gaap that goes beyond the depth of a kiddy pool. (It's like that for most of the misfits tbh...) Still, Gaap gets more focus than most.
Kindness and care:
The thing about Gaap that stands out the most, is how much of a natural caretaker this kid is.
He greets everyone he meets with respect. Often using the honorific "Dono" Which google tells me translates to "Lord" or "Master". Almost every time he greets somebody he always has an offer of Hell tea and onigiri. He always makes sure to take care of his guests and his friends. This kid has no shortage of manners. So polite.
In the Harvest Festival arc, Gaap is the one who goes out to save the other students even when Agares has valid points about why rescuing a bunch of demons they dont know wouldn't benefit them in any way. In the festival, where the entire point is to be a cut above the rest, what did Gaap do?
We see little examples of Gaap's kindness. How he defends his friends and is usually on the front lines whenever someone's well-being is cause for concern.
This boy is the mom friend who always had a painkiller and a stack of bandaids on hand. He's such a mom friend that he canonically fights with Jazz when it comes to taking care of their classmates. (They both have a caretaker complex.)
It's also the way Gaap responds to stress! In the Heartbreaker arc, Gaap is paired up with two first-years who won't stop fighting. This obviously stresses the boy out, because he had high expectations of getting along with his first years, but it didn't turn out that way.
The first thing Gaap does is try to offer them food, something we see Gap do to Agares when he snaps at him. When the offer of food doesnt work, he instead tries to assure the first years that everything will be fine. Even if Gaap isn't confident, his first instinct is to try to appeal to and take care of people. Even if that's not what they want.
It’s interesting, because Gaap doesn’t physically get in between them, like you would expect him to do. He avoids conflict when it gets physical, despite being such a capable fighter. (Though when it comes to saving others, he has no problem acting.)
Friends and Habits:
We get to know Gaap the most when he's around other people. Obviously, because he's a secondary character. I think another aspect of this is because Gaap is a social creature, he thrives around people. We rarely see Gaap standing alone and this makes sense because his goal is to have 100 allies.
In the demon world, we know that demons usually dont care about saving or helping others if it doesnt help them. Nor do they have the drive to see their efforts to the end, because they get bored rather quickly. Gaap breaks out of this status quo, along with the rest of the Misfits, by stubbornly pushing towards his goal even when the fruits of his labor dont bloom right away.
The biggest showcase of this drive is the person Gaap takes care of the most, that we know of.
Chapter 111 shows us that Gaap came to Agares' house every day. check it, every day. Gaap would go out of his way with breakfast and pick Agares up so he could make it to class.
Agares clearly doesnt want to go, but Gaap takes him anyway, refusing to leave him behind. From what we can guess, he's been doing it before they started training together. Which could mean Gaap didn't know this kid, but saw he wasn't going to class and went to go take care of him. (Classic extrovert adopting their introvert friend).
We see how that kindness affects Agares as a result. Agares feels guilty when he snaps at Gaap and goes out of his way to visit Gaap when he doesn't show up for class. (This could also mean Agares went to class on his own, without Gaap having to force him.)
Agares was also willing to help the people Gaap saved. Even when telling Gaap not to go out and save those people, Agares still houses them, keeps them safe, and even plans an escape route for the other students when things look bad. It's a lot of hassle for a character who hates being bothered. Gaap's kindness is contagious, even if it's not obvious at first glance.
Oh, Maybe He's Kinda Fucked Up?
No one escapes childhood unscathed.
Gaap is a caretaker, he does it happily. Even so, when you put yourself in the position to take care of others, there are parts of yourself that fall into neglect that you dont realize.
After the Heartbreaker arc (Chapter 272), Gaap is noticeably absent. We find out later, what happens when you fuck with the nice guy too much.
Maybe it was his crushed expectations, the stress of failing and losing, or maybe Gaap was just tired of being nice but he goes apeshit. Accidentally slipping into his Wicked cycle and nearly driving two students mad with his fucked up face.
We learn that showing your true face is a big no-no in the Gaap household. It's literally written on the walls, and Gaap feels immense shame and embarrassment that he broke a family rule.
He hides his face in his hands, and puts a bag over his face when Agares comes over. He's afraid of hurting someone again, even though the stress of those events have passed.
We dont know his parents' reaction, (because aint no way they dont know) Whether Gaap was disciplined by his parents or not, Gaap put this huge weight on his shoulders. Not blaming the stress of the situation, but blaming himself for losing control.
Gaap specifically said, “I panicked”. Which could mean that with all the stressors, he snapped and just lashed out. Gaap didn't willingly enter his wicked phase, I think he just gave in to his instincts. His bloodline originally started by warding off predators with their maddening appearance. What is panic if not your brain responding as if your body is in danger?
Despite Gaap reasonably getting upset, he still feels terrible for the trouble he caused and the students he hurt. The first thing he did after waking up was to ask if he could apologize to the first years for mentally scarring them.
Gaap’s ambition is to make 100 allies. It's pretty sweet. When a teenager says it(Gaap looks 17 yrs old), It just sounds like he wants to have friends. Pair this up with the fact that Gaap rarely asks for anything in return, and suddenly his wanting a ton of friends makes sense for someone who looks his age. Gaap takes care of people because he wants them to like him. (Even if he can drive them away with how much he cares.)
I have no idea where this desire comes from. If it's something his family drills into him, to be sociable and network, or if it's just a personal goal because of his ugly ahh face.
Regardless, this moment makes me want to lie down on the road while it rains:
Despite how much his ambition means to him, he is willing to isolate himself as long as it means no one else gets hurt. This speaks to his good intentions. It isn't just about the popularity or all the favors he could have from knowing so many demons. It's about forming genuine relationships with other demons and providing them a soft place to land and build community.
Look at my son, he tries so hard.
My final point:
Look at how cool he is. This is Chapter 76, my boy came out the gate swinging with powerful bloodline magic. He's got the position, he's got technique, he's got flare. What more could you ask for?
Gaap started out as rank 2, and since then has had no problem leveling himself up. Gaap always stays on his feet (Hence his nickname Busy Body), not letting himself fall behind his classmates. He aced his training and had since learned to use Wind as a companion and not as a tool. He even developed a full-range attack where he can pick which targets get hit by his swing and which dont. He is leveling up in the world. Dont hurt em now Gaap.
Conclusion:
I'm the equivalent of those parents who show off pictures of their kids from their wallet.
Gaap as a character, in the story he's in, isn't anything really new or groundbreaking. Even still, in a story like Mairimashita Iruma-Kun, the Misfit class are demons that are different. We get to learn why they're different, and how they learn to overcome these challenges despite how they threaten to hold them back.
Gaap is a good kid that you watch succeed from the background. We see him struggle and fall apart, but he never stops caring about others in that process. He's that good-natured kid in your life that you hope succeeds because in a cruel world, they make the decision to be kind.
If anyone made it this far, slay. Even if you never noticed Gaap before, I hope you have a new appreciation for his character. Nishi took time and love to write him out, I think that deserves attention too.

Do you think hisoillu romantic relationship would be confirmed more explicitly in the future in the manga?
I have read this very interesting post for killugon about how togashi Never leave thing vaguely / ambiguous and always confirmed the romance between queer characters, but in hisoillu case even if illumi said they were engaged, there still a lot of people who always repeat the excuse of («THiS Is jUsT fOr ThE mOnEy») even thought to togashi purposely shoose specific romantic word to describe It… this is why I wonder if you think we would be have additional elements who will confirme more explicitly their loves later in the manga?
I don't think so.
As the killugon post had mentioned, Togashi is all abt subtlety especially when it comes to hunter x hunter. Meruem and Komugi never came outright and said that they love each other. Alluka never came outright and said shes trans. and Hisoka and Illumi arent going to come outright to say they love each other.
You will ALWAYS have people that deny the existence of queer relationships/characters regardless of media. Even if you had Hisoka and Illumi kiss on camera, there is always going to be the people saying "This isnt illumi actually, its someone else in disguise!" or "Hisoka definitely manipulated him!" or "it wasnt actually a love kiss it was just obligation!" You'll never truly be free from queer erasure.
THE most explicit thing that could have been done in hisoillus relationship was to loudly and boldly announce their marriage, which Togashi did. And just like you said, people still grasp at straws to deny their relationship's existence. Thats just how its always going to be. You can easily debunk every single excuse they give you with full proof and evidence, and they still wouldn't care. The mistranslation excuse was debunked by a japanese speaking person ages ago with photo evidence and explanations and people will still call it mistranslation. They don't care about whats canon or what isn't, they only care about erasing queer characters from the media.
I think hisoillu specifically being unpopular as queer characters is because of the fact that theyre shitty people and the antagonists of the main lovable characters. Most people don't want to touch Hisoka with a ten inch pole and Illumi by association. But if you actually care and pay half a braincell to focus on their characters and interactions, you'd find that its undeniable that they've always favored each other in each and every single interaction they've had when they never do so with other people.
What I do think will be shown in the future of the manga is hisoillu's explicit collaboration against the troupe on the black whale and more of them working together in the future. Maybe they'll even mention the fact that Hisoka is part of the Zoldyck family now and it'll be acknowledged by other Zoldycks. But thats about it. And that's all we'll ever need, really. Let people cry and delude themselves all they want, but we as hisoillu fans should not need more than that to know whats canon and whats not.
The only way i see them being "more" explicitly confirmed as romantic in the future is if togashi had enough of bitches whining about it and straight up goes himself "is it not obvious" when someone asks him about hisoillus romantic relationship lmfao

a list of my rin okumura headcanons 💙
(in no particular order) (also there are spoilers)
ok smart fellas and fart smellas i have so many headcanons that i have finally decided to share today. this isnt gonna be like romantic stuff cause thats an oversaturated market. most of these headcanons are gonna about rin's life and stuff that i feel hasnt really been expanded upon :3
on that note, i love this man so much so here we go
-rin isn't used to his body after he first awakens. for the first few weeks, his tail causes him to have trouble balancing. at first, he finds that tucking it around his torso helps him find balance, but it becomes really uncomfortable after a while. basically the same feeling as one's back being hunched over for a long time, since his tail is connected to his spine. as he grows more comfortable with himself, he finds his center of balance and feels a lot better to have his tail free.
-as well as struggling with his new tail, rin constantly (and accidentally) bites his lips with his much sharper teeth. ouch
-rin's body temperature is slightly above average. he doesnt have to wear thick clothing during winter because he's already warm enough. when touched, his skin has a similar warmth to a hot cup of tea <3 or a pumpkin spice latte
-when he has leftovers he doesnt microwave them, instead he breathes a little bit of fire, just enough to heat the food up
-each time his hair turns white, his black hair ever so slightly gains white strands. when he notices it for the first time, he's insecure of it and plucks any white strands he sees. eventually it becomes too much so he starts dying his hair black.
- (this one is basically canon but whatever) rin's second awakening causes him to have 2 split personalities. like its not even demon related, he just straight up has a personality disorder now. after kurikara first breaks and he almost hurts his friends, and his big fight with yukio, he is constantly worried that his other self will come out at any time.
-hes embarrassed by his horns and doesnt like that theyre so small (go big or go home right?)
-if he practices, he can control any demonic element, like how satan fought everyone during the main fight.
-he has a strong relationship with the spirit element, due to being related to an azazel clone. he also has an affinity for time and space, as shown when he rips open the space where mephisto hid his heart
-he really loves making indian food and curries
-big fan of shonen jump, reads bleach, one piece, and tegami bachi
-pretends he doesnt, but he likes romance manga. favorites include: kamisama kiss inuyasha, blue flag, and many others
-thought his confession to shiemi would be like a romance manga
-he doesnt like wearing shoes
-since fully awakening, his body doesn't age. he will outlive his friends as well as yukio.
-he likes fishing
aaaand thats about it FOR NOWWWW! i have some other headcanons tucked away that i'll save for another post and ill also come up with some more. hope y'all like them 🦅✨

Characters with wasted potential: takami kegio
Oh hawks and the debates I have seen circulating around his character. He could of been a well written and thoroughly interesting and complex character but we know where that went.
I have got my own problems with hawks in canon. This is gonna be more of a ramble than anything else so enjoy.
His interactions with characters. A lot of the interactions that hawks has with different characters could of been so complex and intriguing if done right sadly MHA fails at that. Hawks views Enji todoroki the number two hero as his saviour from his abusive father so obviously hawks is a huge Endeavour fan who puts him on a pedestal. So we expect him to face an internal conflict when he finds out that his own saviour is an abuser to his own family but NOPE WE GET NOTHING. Hawks is physically not allowed to change or think about this and stays as a static character. Hawks and lady nagant have a lot of parallels and I found it Hella confusing when I learnt that lady nagant WASN'T hawk's former mentor and if she was that would of added a lot more depth to them in the vigilante arc. Hawks and tokoyami, look I love their mentor and mentoee relationship and how hawks actively encourages tokoyami to do things also it's Hella implied that the two are close and end up doing silly things on internships which I think is really fun. However I think the bit in the vigilante arc when hawks isn't answering tokoyamis calls and tokoyami is worried about him was handled poorly. I also think tokoyamis reaction to hawks being a killer is handled poorly. Hawk's actions during the first war arc and him killing twice could of been complex to him if handled well but we are led to believe that he was in the right in killing twice when hawks had the power to easily knock out twice, transport him to a jail cell and destroy all the clones before anything bad happens considering that hawks is known for his fastness, strength and agility .
Wasted potential in introduced plot aspects about him. Hawks is introduced as the 3rd top hero and compared to those before him he is young. He has a very charismatic and two faced nature that he has sharpened and learnt to use with the training the HPSC gave him. Hawks is a spy assassin that is supposed to act as a charismatic hero celebrity. In a way after all mights retirement hawks and enji became the most popular faces in Japan. Hawks was bred for this position yet that isn't expanded on neither is it developed well on. Hawk's actions during MVA and the first war arc are complex as they're coming from both genuine truth and lie. Hawks feels trapped literally and metaphorically having to live a life that isn't his and entertain people, always being watched from a cage. That's the story he tells the league and some of it to tokoyami and this is the truth to him. Hawks also killed twice BECAUSE HE BELIEVED it was the only option he had when in fact IT WASNT THE ONLY OPTION and by hawks trying to escape the cage and differentiate himself from the HPSC he ends up following and obeying them all along.
Lack of agency. As a character hawks lacks agency to do things or act. There are things that hawks isn't allowed to do even though it fits his narrative clearly. Hawks isnt allowed to have any negative feelings towards enji todoroki and what he did, heck he isn't even allowed to INTROPSECT on such a thing. Hawks isn't allowed to fully be developed or have any source of introspection, it would of been great if we saw more of what hawks thought about what he did to twice and what toga is trying to do. Hawks also doesn't say much when it comes to the HPSC and how they treated him the closest thing we get to intropsection in that case is him telling lady nagant that he is an extremely optimistic guy.
These are my main problems with hawks, Iam aware that there may be more.
I actually enjoyed hawk's introduction in the manga which was chapter 185 during the changing of the hero popularity polls. Hawks was presented as this complex character who isn't what he seems from the beginning. The first few panels we see him and he is comedically exaggerating his actions aka zipping his mouth and not talking or being overall very expressive however, when he does start to talk he is shown to cleary express his views and has stated that he hates the general bs thay heroes sprout about them wanting to uphold the law more than enjoying the luxuries that hero work gives them. He then takes the mic and proceeds to 'spice things up' by calling out enji on how disliked he is by the civilians. He claims this is something he did to help enji when in fact it didn't help him at all. To me this first interaction already establishes him as a walking contradiction.
His relationship with tokoyami. Their relationship first started in a way for hawks to gain information about 1A and he definitely wasn't being sneaky about it considering that tokoyami could see right through him. Tokoyami at the time only wanted to learn from hawks and was heavily upset and confused as to why hawks taught him nothing and was only using him. However, as time passed by they actually started to form a proper mentor and student relationship which I really enjoyed. When hawks was asked why he chose tokoyami he said that they are from the same feather, basically insinuating that he felt like it was somewhat his duty since he and tokoyami are both bird mutants to a certain extent. As a mentor hawks taught his student to have fun and chill out as tokoyami is a very grounded person (literally and metaphorically). Hawks inspired tokoyami to fly and majority of tokoyamis moves are some stuff that he either learnt or was inspired from with hawks. There's also the fact that it's heavily implied that a lot of the time hawks and tokoyami did goof out a bit considering that tokoyami has 'scandalous pictures' of hawks. However, I wish we actually got more of this relationship especially after tokoyami finds out that hawks killed twice. In the manga when tokoyami finds out of such a thing he automatically protects hawks and thinks he is in the right. I disagree with that and I think it would of been better to have it so that tokoyami protects hawks from Dabi not because he is a hero who done no wrong but because he is his mentor who he deeply cares for. I would also have it so that tokoyami starts to question who hawks really is?, is he a good person?, did tokoyami do the right thing helping hawks? Etc etc. in the vigilante arc, it's stated that tokoyami tried to contact hawks multiple times to no avail however this isn't expanded on. I would have it so that hawks is avoiding tokoyami on purpose because he is ashamed and scared of what his student will think of him. At the end they have a conversation and talk it out with tokoyami understanding that what hawks did was wrong but he deeply cares for him whereas hawks understands just how valuable his relationship with tokoyami really is. In the end, I ended up liking what happend with hawks and tokoyami both protecting eachother in the final arc and growing stronger as a mentor and student. Hawks learns to protect the youth and break the cycle that he was trapped in while learning what a hero means to others from tokoyamis perspective.
Hawks and twice . Hawks managed to build a good relationship with twice as the dumb and overly optimistic MVA member. Twice had potential to be saved but hawks ended up killing him. I have reread this part of the manga and I have my mixed opinions on this however, there are two ways I would change this 1) have hawks kill toga instead and have twice and toga switch places as it makes way more sense or 2) have hawks try to quickly take down twice by knocking him out and trying to transport him somewhere get before he can achieve that Dabi comes in and intervenes finally making hawks too slow to do anything and having him end up killing twice. Option 2 is what happend in the manga with hawks being too slow (ironic considering that hawks is praised on speed) to truly save twice and ends up taking his life so twice doesn't escape and doom them all. The problem is that hawks starts on the offensive (something I like), hawks thinks that killing twice is the only way to avoid everything or at least massively injuring him would stop it. Sadly, hawks could of easily convinced twice to back down considering how easily swayed twice is and that he only did the things he did because he thought there was no way out or wanted to help his friends. Before their fight begins however, hawks talks about not being swayed by nice words and connections he built with twice which makes me think that he didn't want to kill him but due to his mindset and pov he ended up killing him because HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE ONLY OPTION HE HAD (It wasn't)
His involvement in the MVA. Hawks first starts as a double spy for the HPSC. Through the MVA arc we see him do questionable things in the name of other people safety however, we see his actions backfire badly. Hawks tries to quickly and swiftly gain the leagues trust yet he isn't fast enough, he tries to quickly inform the heroes and the HPSC of how dangerous and out of hand this situation yet he fails and many things are caused by him (the fastest hero alive) not being quick enough to do anything. He 'kills' beat jeanist in the name of gaining the trust of the MVA yet that does nothing to get him up the system and just makes it that best jeanists help is out of the table for the majority of the arc. Hawks joining the MVA was useful for the league as they were going to parade him around so people can join him yet I still wonder how the mainstream media didnt catch a whiff of what hawks was up to or how he simply abandoned hero society (even though he was a double spy). Hawks also talks to the league why he joined the MVA and uses his own story (somewhat of the truth of his life) how he feels like a bird trapped in a cage one that can't fly freely this can be interpreted in many ways. 1) he doesn't have the right to freely use his quirk to any extent he wants which is something that MVA stands for or 2) he feels trapped by his own life choices, him becoming a hero especially the number 2 and has a lot of eyes on him watching him like a circus animal with every move he makes so he puts on an act and never drops the mask.
Hawks and toga himiko . Toga himiko should of either been killed by hawks in place of twice which would of made him get more backlash by the public and make tokoyami question him even more considering that hawks somewhat mercilessly killed a 16 year old (the same age as tokoyami) in cold blood for justice so he could also do it to him. Or we should of gotten a hawks Vs toga battle in the final arc instead of a afo Vs hawks one. It would of made way more sense. Considering that hawks killed twice who is very dear to toga she should of had her eyes set on hawks death the minute she chose to join the lov and the final war. We should of gotten an intense and emotional battle between them were hawks has to come to terms that he didn't need to kill twice but he thought that it was the only option he had and he watches as toga uses twices quirk knowing that twices death was meaningless as toga is using his quirk in the way he feared it would be used. Hawks would be almost killed until ochako intervenes and has her battle with toga while hawks goes and fights alongside tokoyami.
Hawk's views on lady nagant. Lady nagant should of been hawk's mentor and he should of been her replacement. In canon hawks is only her replacement and I think it would of added more nuance and overall better writing if she was his mentor. I absolutely loved the parallels that those two shared and how they came out on different side of things however, I do think that we should of seen more of hawks getting the backhand treatment from the public considering that him killing twice was on live television. Honestly it surprised me that hawks killing twice isn't what the public was most upset with him about but they were upset with him having an abusive and villain father which honestly says a lot. I also think that they should of had more screentime to talk, hawks helped save lady nagant and she ended up asking him how he still has hope while he says that he is "optimistic". Iam not a huge fan of this moment and I think it could of been written better. Hawks and lady nagant are two sides of the same coin but dam did I hate hawks holding her burnt body and telling her that he was her replacement, it could of been handled better with hawks and her actually having somewhat of a fight and then some of the conversation happening after the explosion.
Hawks and the todoroki family . Oh boy I can feel that this is gonna be a long one. I found it interesting that hawks actually looked up and admired endeavour and I loved the parallels it gave both hawks and Dabi. However, I hated that hawks wasn't allowed to think or have any intropsection after hearing about what enji did or that he didn't go through a bit of a crisis over it. The fact that hawk's character has simply been reduced to enji Todorokis biggest supporter is my biggest problem with hawks. Dabi and hawks were very interesting to me (no I don't ship them) they're simply two sides of the same coin especially in the ways they act. Dabi is consistent on revenge whereas hawks is the opposite, Dabi hates enji whereas hawks admires enji and so on and so on. I do think that it would of been way more interesting if touya and kegio had actual history behind everything going on so I have always liked the HC that they met in the HPSC training scheme and became friends. It's plausible and makes Dabi saying hawk's real name way more meaningful than Dabi finding it out by threatening hawk's mother. I also think that both of them sharing a form of history yet not trusting eachother is hella interesting. Dabi was probably one of the only characters (aside from Izuku and tokoyami) that could see through some of hawks actions. Dabi knew what hawks will do yet never tried to intervene until it benefited him of course in true icon fashion that is. I also find hawk's relationship with the youngest todoroki interesting but I think it was done horribly. I would of liked to see more scenes with hawks and shoto talking about enji and touya or just scene of them that draw the similarities they have.
I would also have hawks be semi involved in the whole mutant racism plot because we need that to be fleshed out. Does hawks help donate to charities that help mutants? Is he against such people? Or doe hawks himself face such discrimination? To be honest I doubt it considering that his mutation is on the "prettier side" of the mutations and wouldn't face discrimination like shoji did
Hawks also had potential to interact with other characters like todoroki which would of highlighted his thoughts and development on the families matter. There is also Izuku midoriya who in a way is in somewhat of a similar circumstance to hawks and they could of had that whole is there another way to save villains like twice and shigaraki without killing them or is death the only way or just general conversation between the two considering that tokoyami was stated to praise izuku so much that hawks considered taking him as an intern. In one of the side comics you also had Izuku be somewhat suspicious of hawks and his abilities and it's also somewhat hinted in the main manga so it's interesting to have them have a conversation about that.
I personally think that hawks should of received concequences for his actions and one of them being hindered quirk use aka his wings don't grow back properly or everytime he uses them he can't use them to their fullest potential due to how injured he was by Dabis fire. Also, I hate how hawks being used by the commission is almost brought as a second thought, like when the HPSC fell we really didn't get much of hawk's personal reaction or thoughts or anything on the matter it seems like a quite empty point even though it had its potential to Futher develop hawks
In conclusion, hawks character introduction was pretty solid and I really liked some of the aspects that the series gave him like making him a walking contradiction to a certain extent but I do think that horikoshi development of hawks character was horrible and the fact that hawks lacks agency to do many things or reflect on things irritates me very much.

Sky isn't First's reincarnation, Warriors is.
Heads up, this is just a headcanon! I am using LOZ canon in parts to help fortify my thinking but again, this isnt to prove a point!
Also tagging people below! I was going to reblog my og post but this came out too long and would just be better as its own post!
I believe that Sky isn't the reincarnation of Hyila's chosen hero, but instead the hero's incarnation. While both the fandom (loz and lu) and the canon use the two words interchangeably, they truly do have two different meanings, even if they are considered 'small.'
So does this mean I believe Warriors to be the hero's direct reincarnation? In a way, yes I do. I believe that there are some threads in canon that can stablize this idea, but most are based on personal preference and headcanons.
If you wanna know more, ill be going more into it under the cut!
Firstly, the difference between reincarnation and an incarnation!
Reincarnation, defined as “a person or animal in whom a particular soul is believed to have been reborn”
an example of this would be Sky, Sun and Demise. We see many of these reincarnations, but most notably and factual would be Demise’s reincarnation to Ganondorf. They share the same soul, at least the one from OOT does.
Incarnations, Defined as “a person who embodies in the flesh a deity, spirit, or abstract quality.”
Now, there arent any solidly proven instances in LOZ but most can assume that Nayru, Din and Farore from the OOS and OOA games/mangas are incarnations of the deities they are named after. But a more well rounded example would be to look at mythos in the real world, specifically Greek mythos with their gods Gaia, Thanatos, Nyx, and more.
Sky, or SS Link, has been believed to be the reincarnation of the First hero (“First”), is it even easier to prove him to be a incarnation. Sky, in the canon of Skyward Sword (“SS”) is not proven to be the direct reincarnation of the chosen hero- he is said to be the chosen hero, and plays such roll in the story of SS but there is nothing that says he is the direct reincarnation of First. Perhaps there is evidence that states otherwise, that is likely in the vast canon of Legend of Zelda, but it feels (and is stated) that the cycle of ‘reincarnation’ starts with SS link and his Zelda.
An incarnation feels like the better fit for the character of Sky. He is, and would be, the incarnation of the Chosen Hero, a heroic spirit known for his courage and loyalty to the divine. Hyila in the uncanon manga stated that she would meet First again, but again we do not get any notion that this refers to any reincarnation like the goddess takes.
Now for Warriors, or Hw Link, there are obviously the visual similarities that connect Warriors with First as both are the only one seen to wear scarves, as well as the one shoulder pauldrons. But it should also be noted the similarities in the stories both partake in. The main concept is very similar to the rest of the courageous heroes, but these two seem to be the only was who have fought in war of sorts, both battling against a dark army as the only hero able to fall the mighty leader.
Now, most of the rest of these thoughts would be based on the frames of headcanons rather than facts, as the idea behind this thought was of the poetic similarities between the two characters rather than facts within the LOZ or LU canon
Warriors and First being the 'leaders' of a war, neither being ready for such responsibilities yet being forced to none the less because they are the only ones able to hold such responsibilities
Both feeling unworthy of holding such power for being 'unpure' (First; being imprisoned for 4 years, Wars; encounters with Cia and/or having Dark Link being created)
Being experienced, infield fighters compared to dungeon crawlers, both of which are used to working with others in planning/fighting
First has been characterize within the fandom (and canon) as a recluse, naturally from his trauma of imprisonment yet even then he still has this authoritative status and energy to him. And while Warriors is seen as anything BUT a recluse in the fandom, it is still canon within the canon that he was infact a mute. So, its interesting to note how similar the two's nature would of been if certain characteristics in canon werent there (ie, HW link getting overconfident and prideful, which First shows little to no traits of in his appearances)
Back to characterization, both tend to be depicted as chivalrous men, either because of their roles as important 'military' figures or their natural personalities.
These are really just my beginning thoughts on this! Im....I like this idea a lot- as you can tell!

No one else wondering about that sword and shield prophecy rn? Just me???
Hak is the shield, Soo-Won the sword and Yona is the king? Or maybe Soo-Won and Yona are interchangeable. Maybe we should question the foundation of the prophecy itself. No one? Like, at all???
Okay :]
That being said, personally, I think too many people are being weird about this chapter. While I have my reservations about it, there's symbolism and growth highlighted in it that's actually pretty interesting. Analyzing a series is fun and great and all but guys. It's just a series, it's not that deep. You have to know that I thoroughly understand the investment one gets in these series, but just because you dont agree with the writing doesnt meant that it's bad writing, even if the ending or even the next chapter isnt what we're expecting. And even if it is bad writing, again!! Its not that deep, and its out of our control. Its a hard pill to swallow, but one I have to force myself to take. Why? Because if I remain overly critical, I will lose the enjoyment I get from reading this manga.
Not to say I'm against criticism either, I just think one needs to find a steady balance.
Anyways, as a MASSIVE akayona fan myself, yeah. I wish things were going in a different direction. I wish some (a lot of) things in this chapter and arc were different. (Time travel, characters, plotholes and such.) But I trust Kusanagi's incredible writing skills and have no doubt something great is about to happen, and if it doesn't, well, I'm incredibly grateful to have been along for the ride. Besides, there's infinite possibilities when you have hundreds of people out here willing to create their own versions of the story. Its simple. If you end up being that upset with the finale, remold canon and write a fic! Make fanart! Create scenarios in your head! Your imagination is your greatest tool, so don't be afraid to use it!
My point being, give Kusanagi a chance. As an author she's nothing short of a genius and a talented storyteller, so I wouldn't doubt that she's got a few more cards up her sleeve. The series isn't over just yet!

Since the jjk manga ended and my sweetheart is officially dead, here is a letter i would've written to him if i was his canon lover in jujutsu kaisen.
(basically a huge rant)
What is the point of living if not for him, my reason for being if he isn't there,
Life is but just a huge flake of despair
oh who to share my moments of love and anguish with if he isn't there, the bearer of limitless and the sole holder of the key to my heart,
For who will ease the pain in my heart if not for him?,
Who will quench the thirst of want, that is for him?,
for he may be the honored one to all but to me is the garden of love that i have garnered, for he is the sole reason i choose to wake up everyday, for he is not the strongest but is just satoru,
Satoru gojo, the beautiful man who deserved to live the best life out of anyone to ever have stepped foot in the jjk verse.
The sole heir to the gojo clan and the bearer of the six eyes and limitless.
The man who had the power to eradicate everyone and live selfishly but chose to educate the youth and strive for a better future instead.
The love of my life who could do no wrong,
For he is the one who has many flaws, he does really, but its his flaws that make me love him
It's like shakespeare said, when in love, you love the person for their flaws not because they don't have them (this isn't the exact quote, it's the meaning).
For what is the meaning of life, if i dont get to see his smile to brighten my day
Reign my dreams, who will if not he
Hold my hand, who will if its not him
For who will lead me through my own despair if not him,
He isn't the strongest because of his powers, no, he is the strongest for bearing the despair and anguish that the reality of the world has.
The pressure to protect everyone for he was born for it.
To play the hero he is meant to be, not by choice but by birth.
Oh how i wish, i could hold his hand once more and tell him he did well, to guide him through his own despair, to comfort him, to console him, to tell him that his efforts were not in vain.
Were his efforts not in vain, if my love couldn't even get a funeral at the end? Not even an ounce of acknowledgement? Just a measly little flashback, even in which he seemed to degrade himself?
When the only person who vowed to remember him was sukuna
When not even his own students mourned his death.
How infuriating, cruel, disgusting even
How i long to embrace and tell him that he is appreciated, that his love and dreams are valid too
That to me, he isnt the strongest but is the garden of love i wish to nurture
Satoru, my satoru
Without the limitless or the six eyes

generally discussions about "what's canon / what's not canon" as if that actually means anything piss me offff like i think as a society we have allowed the idea of "alternate universes" "separate continuities" "different canons" to sour our conceptions of what serialised fiction can actually achieve. tbh at the end of the day everything that has been published about a given world or a given group of characters or whatever is part of "a canon" and the reader has full control over which parts they choose to read / not read or analyse / not analyse. but what pisses me aurf the MOST is when the idea of "canon" takes on a life of its own completely detached from anything material and you have anime fans arbitrarily deciding "oh this anime movie ""isnt canon"" because it doesn't appear in the manga" or people throwing around words like ""technically"" saying shit like "technicallyyyyy this tie-in comic book / game / novelisation isn't canon to the movie" when in reality there is no "technically" it's just a bunch of geeks jerking themselves off. anyway my point is that it hurts my feefees when people jerk off about which homestuck spinoffs are and aren't canon when basically all of them are pretty open about where they fit in continuity and i even did all my research and wrote it down on the wiki for all of you. it hurts my feefees when you don't read the work i do on the wiki. is that what you want to do. hurt my feefees

RANPO IS MORE JEALOUS THAN POE.
There, I said it! Sure Poe is jealous but only of how many friends Ranpo had. Poe isn't nearly as possessive as any of you make him out to be. Look at Poe not giving two shits that Ranpo is hugging and tickling another man directly in front of him.
You know who is possessive? Ranpo. He threatens to "destroy the crux of the existence" of the first man Poe is interested in that isnt him. Mushitarou embarrasses Ranpo in front of his boyfriend and he takes it so hard he starts giving ✨️Fyodor Realness ™️✨️ (sjjdjdkdkd why is this canon). Arguably the most vicious he's been the whole series. It isn't just that the agency took a loss, they take losses all the damn time. If I had a dollar for every time someone in this series was a hair away from death I COULD BUY EVERY VOLUME OF THIS MANGA (and a few light novels).
And when another man is living for days in Poe's mansion (the horror)
Ranpo gives Poe MEANINGFUL gifts and PRAISE IN FRONT OF MUSHITAROU.
No! You don't understand, Ranpo answered in an interview he would never give anyone gifts because he doesn't need to or want to.
He gave Poe gifts he KNEW would mean a lot to him and absolutely nothing to Mushi literally just to prove a point. the point that they are wayyy closer and Mushi could never compare. Poe has done so much more for much less, candy was unnecessary for ANYYYY other reason. It's giving jealous wife, it is sounding a lot like, "You may be currently living in his house but I am his everything."
Personally I like the idea that Ranpo and Poe are both privately snarling at Mushitarou in a jealous rage and he's like, "I don't want him! YOU CAN KEEP HIM! YOU CAN KEEP EACH OTHER!"
#bungou stray dogs#bsd ranpo#bsd poe#cat deduction#Ranpo and Poe both project their attraction of Mushitarou onto the other in order not to deal with it#they both wanna kiss him#but the world is ending and things are complicated#cat deduction started off with years of hostile strategic foreplay#mushitarou has a lot of this bullshit ahead of him

least favorite saiki ship and why ?
IT SCARES ME THAT THIS IS ON ANON. WHAT IF I SAY THAT I HATE A SHIP AND THEN IT TURNS OUT THE PERSON THAT ASKED THIS IS LIKE THE CEO OF THAT SHIP OR SOMETHING.
... its torisai LMAO.
i dont like saying it on here much cuz its one of the most popular ships in the fandom (the number one most popular ship is kubokai, and im not a fan of that either ☠️ i just think theyre the ship you get from looking at the show/manga purely at surface level and just picking two characters that are close friends and saying 'they should date' even though they wouldnt actually fit together.. i just dont see it personally lol.. OKAY ANYWAY SORRY-) but i really dont like torisai 🧍🏻♀️
(im about to talk about sa under this, fair warning)
i literally just posted today about people shipping things in ways that mildly trigger me, and torisai shippers do it pretty bad !! for some reason, mikorei shippers and yumetori shippers etc dont really do the thing that torisai shippers do where they romanticize sexual assault in the way they write them.. im not sure why that is, maybe they think that men cant be sa'd in the way women can ? they think cuz its a gay ship that its okay to write tori sexually harassing and assaulting him (+acting like its cute, not tagging it accordingly with warnings, etc) ? crazy. especially since saiki is implied to be a victim of sa (or at least is canonically a victim of sexual harassment and attempted sa) by his brother..
that whole thing is something i genuinely think is awful and nobody should romanticize sa, but toritsuka isn't inherently awful and still had potential and good character development, so that alone doesnt really make the ship that bad since the shippers are the problem.. i actually used to be okay with it until the shippers ruined it for me, but thinking critically about it (and thinking about WHY the shippers believe that their dynamic is so sexually abusive) did make me realize how much the ship sucks anyway.. (imo !!)
its partly because i project onto saiki, but i already mentioned how saiki is canonically a victim of (at least attempted) sa, and i reallly believe that he would not be interested in dating someone who is so obsessed with sex to the point where he canonically sexually harasses people and tries to peep without their consent !! he is literally an sa victim, obviously that would make him so uncomfortable!!
their friendship at the end of the series is nice and one of the most developed in the series, so i get where people got the ship from, cat tank incident invites a lot of content about them... but toritsuka still has a lot of work to do on himself before he can date ANYONE, and ESPECIALLY a literal sa victim..
when he saw saiki as a girl, one of the first things he did was DIRECTLY ask him about his boobs.. WHY WOULD HE DATE HIM AFTER THAT SKSNKAKAMSK..
actually lol, when i made that post today about ship content that triggers me, part of that was specifically inspired by torisai shippers lol.. (not all ofc and no hate, it just isnt my thing !! torisai mutuals i love u please don't unfollow me..) ive seen multiple people post about how they love torisai BECAUSE they would be absolutely awful for each other and bring out the worst in one another.. like hmm.. great for you if you enjoy that, but that is entirely why i DONT ship it !! i hate ships like that, i love my fluffy healthy romantic ships !!
okay anyway anyway, i love their platonic friendship, they care about each other lots, theyre one of the most developed in the series, their friendship has lots of potential, etc.. i just dont see it romantically !!! maybe in the far far future, but definitely not at the point they are at the end of the series..
#do not open this if youre gonna get upset if someone criticizes your ship#its one of the most popular ones so if ur seeing this then the chances that u ship it r very high#im not trying to hate please this is just my opinion i love you guys#im also open to criticism btw i dont really mind if you comment on here about why you like this ship#u dont have to though i doubt anyone will care about my opinion at all LOL#saiki k#tdlosk#the disastrous life of saiki k.#saiki kusuo#meows post#meownalysis

All Kagehina “proof” I know of
Ok i wasnt gonna post this but ive been told by a friend to explain why some might ship Kagehina so... try me. i dont exactly ship this myself but lets just say im a pro when it comes to this topic also it's not as bad as i thought it was there are worse ships idk why i was a hater also i lowkey got some of this from shipping wiki but most of it i knew already, plus NOT ALL OF THIS IS NECESSARILY REFERENCES TO THE SHIP it kinda just adds on to it anyways lets just get into it
ok so starting with common knowledge i think everyone knows that Hinata is the protagonist followed with Kageyama being the deuteragonist, they get the most screen time together and are pretty much paired MOST of the series, we get a lot of content with them together while also getting content of them on their own, they're known as the "freak duo," the "greatest teammates" and like 100 other names they've been called I've seen a lot of people intemperate their relationship wrong, I've seen a few say Kageyama was downright "abusive" to Hinata which I think is a little farfetched, but to each their own! They genuinely do care for each other and it shows, even at the end of the manga you can tell how far their relationship has come, even if they consider themselves rivals, they are without a doubt still friends Now a lot of people have said "well they're not gay they're just friends", while this is true, it has been referenced/implied officially in many places, including manga panels and english dubs, so while it isn't canon there is a few cute things about it which we know are official which is why I'm sharing this, I myself know it isn't canon, plus I didn't really make this to prove anything it was kinda for fun sorry if that made little to no sense but I'll start getting into more interesting stuff 1. at the tip of the iceberg we have the fact they're in so much official art together
theres like a 1000 more of these btw theyre often put near eachother even in official arts not based off them
I have like 1k more of these but i have more proof than this but i think you get my point some of this is probably promo art but that's also considered official art so 2. moving on i think another known one is that Ukai calls them lovebirds ONE TIME in English dub and I have no idea who approved that but I think it's funny and obviously this probably meant nothing but take it as you want video of it here 3. this is kinda randomly thrown in but the fact that they also trust eachother, they've mentioned it a couple times but I think it's nice to know 4. i dont remember when this was or what chapter or something but kageyamas grandfather said "somebody even better will come for you", which just happened to be Hinata of course 5. ALSO after that whole fight scene back in season two, Hinata says this
he didnt really consider kageyama as a friend, but he considered him a partner which i believe is more important to hinata. teammates/partners were always something Hinata wanted, as before he went to Karasuno, he didn't feel like his friends in Junior high were necessarily teammates. Meaning he valued Kageyama more because he was his partner.
(credits to triananero for these images) and when him and Kageyama started working together, they most definitely were perfect together, as they balanced each-other out, which made them become an unstoppable duo or whatever they called them 6. the fact that they have matching jersey numbers 9 and 10 moving on to less canon stuff, there is a light novel of Haikyuu called Haikyū!! Shōsetsuban!! which probably isnt close to canon but Furudate was a part of it even though it wasn't written by him, so it's at least somewhat official 7. anyway according to shipping wiki there is a chapter where Kageyama feels "fluttery feelings at the bottom of his stomach" when Hinata texts him, it's on volume 8 chapter 1, I REALLY WANTED TO SHOW YOU GUYS BUT I COULDNT FIND IT ANYWHERE ONLINE. i searched countless tumblr posts and websites but i could only find chapter five and chapter three so im fully convinced this is lost media LMAOOOO 8. also in Haikyū!! Shōsetsuban!! apparently there's a part where Hinata daydreams about him and Kageyama eating under cherry blossom trees i just found that cute AS MUCH AS I WANNA SHOW YOU GUYS I LITERALLY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING OF THIS LIGHT NOVEL ANYWHERE i just know it's real, if I ever get my hands on it which I doubt, I'll share proof it exists btw AND THIS IS REALLY RANDOM AND SOMEONE WANTED ME TO INCLUDE THIS BUT 9. Basically there was a ad for deodorant a couple years back, collabing with Haikyuu, where you could buy deodorants to “smell like them” or whatever, some shippers believe it’s a Kagehina reference as they also advertised Kageyama and Hinatas scents together as some like matching couple thing
and then there's this
And I think I've said enough, there's way more you can find out about this ship, but I hope with this post you've learned something new or whatever... I MIGHT MAKE THIS A SERIES should i do kenhina next or kuroken ANYWAYS DISCLAIMER I didnt look too much into most of these things but I can gaurentee this stuff is true also this was just for fun and not serious but i hope you liked my little post!
#haikyuu#kagehina#im just rambling#kageyama#tobio kageyama#haikyuu!!#ship#um#PLS ignore all the grammar mistakes i made this wasnt supposed to be serious#i love hinata shouyou#hinata shouyou#shippingpost#haikyu#hi#wht ship should i do next

So Izuku said "Why don't you become my heart 心 then?"
Then Bakugou's heart 心 stopped bcz of Izuku for lose control
Izuku remember twice "Control your heart心
Black whip shading as spesifically heart 心
What do you think about this Pika? Same words and 17-19 chps later is consiquences or? Isnt that means Izuku become Katsuki's heart, and when bakugou's heart stopped, he couldnt control his heart, black whip shading as heart.?
You're the second person to come to me recently with similar questions. I'm guessing some of this is a topic of discussion growing in popularity somewhere on the internet. I don't know for sure as I haven't seen all such discussions.
I'll answer your questions, but as a courtesy I'll warn you in advance: I tend to view these concepts as fun little symbolic meanings a reader might ascribe the text, not as intentional symbolism inserted by Horikoshi. Like, if you enjoy discussing these ideas for fun and building on them through art and discussion, more power to you. But I don't believe any of these interpretations have any predictive power in the story. I personally don't find any of these mentioned theories compelling or persuasive, but I am not interested in dismissing the value of any reader interpretations. I merely intend to comment on whether or not I believe these theories hold any weight in canon.
My interest in discussing these ideas is entirely linguistic, since I think that's the major reason people ask me of all people questions like these. I do believe the veracity of these theories in question hinges on an English-language interpretation of the text that does not carry over to the original Japanese.
I'll elaborate.
1. The "heart"
First, some corrections. You've provided a list of examples of "heart," yet you've assigned the word kokoro 心 to each of them. Kokoro does not apply to all of those instances where the English version uses the word "heart."
I'll admit, I don't know which moment in the manga you're referring to with this example:
So Izuku said "Why don't you become my heart 心 then?"
Otherwise, the only instance in your examples where the word kokoro would be appropriate is in "control your heart" with reference to Izuku. The Japanese there is "kokoro wo sei suru."
As for Katsuki's heart exploding, the correct word for "heart" in this case is shinzou 心臓. Shinzou is the Japanese word for the physical heart organ in the body. Note that in English, we use the word "heart" to mean a lot of things that aren't actually the same thing. We could mean someone's heart organ, but we can also mean something more abstract, like a person's essence or feelings, their core, their personality. These two concepts have separate words in Japanese. It does not necessarily follow to simply connect Katsuki's heart exploding to any instance of the word kokoro in the manga for this reason. That doesn't make the connection completely moot, I should point out. The kokoro for instance is thought to reside within a person's core at the center of their abdomen--albeit usually a little lower than where the heart organ is, like in their gut. It's the location where a samurai would stab to perform harakiri (literally "stomach cutting") in ritual suicide. I can't speak with authority on how these concepts may tie together in Japanese such that they would be depicted in certain ways in literature. All I'm saying is, there isn't a straightforward connection between Katsuki's heart exploding and the "control your heart" topic. That interpretation likely comes from the fact that these terms are conflated as one word, "heart," in English.
Likewise, when it comes to the "heart" people see in Black Whip in chapter 367, that is just the English term for the ideograph heart shape. It is not the same thing as kokoro in Japanese. In Japanese, this shape is just called HAATO ハート.
While there is no linguistic relationship between these terms in Japanese, I would never go so far as to say Japan doesn't know what the heart ideograph symbolizes. For all I know, one could make the connection between the heart shape and the Japanese concept of kokoro. However, I don't see any reason to believe the popular recognition of this "heart" shape in the above panel is anything more than normal pattern-seeking behavior of the human brain. If you're interested in the fandom theory surrounding the words "control your heart," you are primed to be on the lookout for any sort of heart symbolism. That doesn't mean everything you see as a heart is necessarily intended to be perceived as a heart. Honestly, the above image looks to me like a dynamic artistic representation of black whip's spiraling movement. I could make out a heart shape if I wanted, but it does not seem deliberate to me at all. It's fun to recognize the heart there as a little fandom in-joke, but otherwise I don't think the shape has any textual meaning. That's just my opinion though. The point is, if you really think that's deliberately drawn to be a heart and that it means something, I'm not the right person to talk to about it. I am not convinced by that theory.
2. The "romantic"
There are two issues to address here: the issue of fact, and the linguistics issue.
As for the issue of fact, I am not convinced Katsuki was in the "OFA realm." To be clear, the facts of the matter to me are as follows. There is no "OFA realm," there is just the "quirk/vestige realm" in which all quirks in theory could exist. The only reason we know that we would ever see this realm is because of a quirk that interferes with the realm such as AFO or OFA. However, Izuku and All Might both have vestiges in this realm, so there may be something more going on here (probably something to do with their having OFA). But since we know All Might's vestige is not exactly the same thing as a quirk, we can't make easy conclusions about it. His quirk COULD be a manifestation of the new will of OFA, so it may just be that his vestige is OFA. But it's also clearly tied to All Might in the real world (which has never been in question, we've heard about this several times). It may have little to do with OFA. We just don't know.
Given these facts, I cannot draw the conclusion that the mysterious image we saw of Katsuki encountering All Might's vestige on a blank backdrop WAS the vestige realm. Even if I assume it was the vestige realm, I cannot conclude that it had anything to do with the vestige realm inside Izuku. I don't know if it had anything at all to do with OFA. I'm not saying that for sure this has nothing to do with OFA, but I am saying I cannot make any positive claims about it. It could have to do with OFA, it could have nothing to do with OFA.
What I'm saying is, sure Katsuki could make an appearance in the vestige realm. He also could have nothing to do with that. Or also EVERYONE could make an appearance in the vestige realm. I don't really know. Horikoshi could choose to go in that direction, but it's also just as likely that he could choose not to go in that direction. All I can say is, "Sure there's a possibility of that!" I just can't say anything like, "Yeah that's definitely gonna happen." I don't know and I'm not really interested in it until there's stronger evidence for it.
Now for the issue of linguistics. I don't know if you're trying to say the words 道半ばで appear somewhere with respect to Katsuki. I do know Nana says them. But whether or not these words apply to Katsuki, I have a different issue to bring up. I may have said something about this before, but it may not have been clear and it bears repeating since it's probably been a long time.
I don't think when Nana says "romantic" she means what you think she means.
The word Nana uses in Japanese is ROMAN ロマン. If you look up this word, you'll find that it's the word used to refer to the romances, not the contemporary romance genre. Historically, the romances were a robust genre of literature. Shakespeare has his "romance plays," for instance. This has little to do with the term "romance" as we think of it in the contemporary sense. In the Japanese definitions I find online, the most common examples shown are the Arthurian romances, which are defined as "narrative, written in prose or verse and concerned with adventure, courtly love and chivalry." Basically, Nana is saying this idea that she'll live on in One For All is beautiful, poetic, mystical, epic. She's not talking about romance like the concept of two people falling in love and their attempts to pursue each other (and I mean, come on, that kind of romance would be a little weird for Nana to bring up in this context since she's talking to her young student Toshinori Yagi).
I will emphasize the above argument by pointing out that there is another word in Japanese for that contemporary "genre of love" type of romance: ROMANSU ロマンス. For reference, this is the word that gets used a lot in stories like Sailor Moon (notably in its original catchy-as-hell theme song). If Horikoshi really meant to use ROMAN ロマン to mean "romance" as in the "genre of love," he sure went out of his way to choose the one version of the word that doesn't unambiguously mean that type of romance.
Now, that said, the meeting of Katsuki and All Might's vestige in that mysterious plane COULD COUNT as "romantic" in the sense of the Arthurian romances. It just remains to be seen what that panel was all about.

so i mightve found your blog and uh. enjoyed it a normal amount fjdhg
but i have a question. i havent had the time to read the manga or the light novels (yet) but its been bugging me. why DID the anime change chuuyas eyes to blue??? it always felt kinda weird to me
i do like the idea of chuuya having some kind of french heritage, given that the real-life chuuya took inspiration from french poetry in his work.
but giving him blue eyes always felt.. not quite right? bc hes a japanese person and YES he has red hair, which isnt typical, but the red hair blue eyes combination doesnt sit quite right with me
and i KNOW that its an anime with non-natural hair and eye colours but idk. maybe u have some insight on this?
(honestly this is just making me hc that chuuya has partial heterochromia and who am i to deny myself the pleasure jrndnt)
Lmao glad you had fun on my blog.
Imo Dazai was such a scene stealing character in the anime and had such a massive presence that they needed to ensure Chuuya wouldn't fall flat. Harukawa's style is very understated with more subdued colouring. Chuuya automatically stands out in the manga because there we already knew Chuuya was an important figure cause of Dazai's profile bringing him up but also because the manga doesnt really use colours so Chuuya isn't gonna end up looking like random tree no. 5. In the anime, the colours are a lot brighter and more vibrant. Dazai himself goes from an average attractiveness on a very charismatic man in the manga to ridiculously baby girl hot. Chuuya being a minor character with very little screentime needed to share scenes with him and his canon colour palate would have made him get overshadowed. He needed to make an impact and really stand out. Kunikida's colour palate in the anime for instance sort of falls flat because they kept it almost the same as the manga but he is just tan and blonde which works in Harukawa's style and the black and white manga but kinda fades away next to the stronger more eye catching colours of the rest of ADA.
That being said Chuuya has japanese parents as seen in sb and natural ginger hair while rare does exist amongst japanese people, they however dont have blue eyes. The red hair and blue eyes were probably elements added to make him more striking.
Also Ranpo has green eyes and Oda has blue in the anime. They all have brown eyes in the manga.
The partial heterochromia chuuya is a very fun hc. I however tend to prefer it with both colours in the same eyes as opposed one in each. That reminds me of a friend.

Miriko shift from "this dude" to "this thing" brings so many terrible implications. At best, she thinks Tomura is becoming a Nomu.
Speaking about Nomu, having their intelligence evolve was mistake since making them more human makes the heroes seem more murderous.
Like, the USJ Nomu had no intelligence or desires outside following orders, yet he was allowed live. However, Hood actively showed intelligence and desires, yet he was killed.
There also the fact Endeavor did the All Might pose after performing worse on either accountings of saving or winning.
I disagree having the nomu's overall intelligence evolve isnt a mistake. Instead it actually plays with the heroes heads and mortality. Will they still be able to kill something that doesn't look human but very much acts human? Is there really a difference between nomu's and humans? Heck you can even bring in the arguement of mutant discrimination and nomu's!!
I for one believe that the nomu's were severely underused in many ways. What does the public think of Nomu's? How were the people who had their family members turned into nomu feel? (This is explored a bit in fics but not really in canon) @thr0wnawayy has a post on the wasted potential of nomu's.
How about how Nomu's are made? How they're used? Or is them evolving to have more intelligence makes them more human? In a society where being human doesn't have a specific look is intelligence the thing that makes people human? Or is it another criteria?
With miriko it's interesting to see her physical switch go from "this dude" to "this thing" because it could very much show that maybe this is how hero society teaches and produces heroes. Heroes are supposed to do easy take downs relying on violence instead of ethically and properly working out a situation. The heroes whole win to save issue and their instinct to fight first talk later is exactly why the first war arc was so catastrophic and why there are so many deaths. Also miriko's attitudes show one way heroes may think of their opponents as non human effectively dehumanising them so they don't feel bad for inflicting harm on them and subconsciously convincing themselves that this is all for the greater good. "I mean killing a puppet who can't think for themselves or express pain is easier than killing a human someone who is the same as you right?" That's probably the thought process of many heroes and we see it with both miriko and hawks explicitly.
However, the whole dehumanisation of villains and enemies can also apply to other characters like Enji and maybe even ochako in the first war arc when it comes to her conversation with toga.
Enji cannonically has tried to kill koichi (a vigilante) in the manga and has expressed quite the aggressive behaviour towards villains and even objects so he really isn't a good person or hero either.
Nomu's and their increasing intelligence for example kurogiri says a lot and brings a lot of moral dilemmas which would be interesting to see how the series could of dealt with them and how it may even reveal some innate corruptness within hero society.
The hitting of the all might pose is something that three characters have all done aka enji, Izuku and shigaraki have all hit the all might pose yet in all of those scenarios it's had different meanings. Even with that the one meaning that they all share with that pose is one of victory (they all struck the pose after their supposed victories) but it all has a different meaning for example with enji his pose was supposed to show that he can live up to the title and that he can try and keep peace within society. The pose also showed the classic upholding of the status quo and hero societies original corrupted ideologies and ideals that enji will go ahead and uphold.
