Lizard people are an antisemitic conspiracy theory created by David Icke, who posited that Jewish people were not merely not human, but not mammalian in nature. I cannot tell anyone what to write or not write, and I won't say that you should never write any lizard person. However, lizard people, reptilians who control the government from behind the scenes, etc. are all white supremacist dogwhistles and rooted in this antisemitic conspiracy theory, so I would kindly suggest you 1. not write lizard people as having control over any part of human government and 2. put up some kind of disclaimer at the start of your story so people don't get the wrong idea. Followers of your blog know who you are and know you're not the kind of person to believe in that kind of prejudiced nonsense, but when people on tumblr who don't know you see it, they don't have that knowledge. You must subsequently end up coming across as someone who you very much are not, and I would hate for you to have to deal with Neo Nazis thinking you're one of their own or for people to spread false information about you.

I gather that you're not familiar with these kinds of things because you don't hang out with bigots, so I figured this is a case of you simply not knowing this was a thing. I know you're not the kind of person who would write something like that knowingly. I hope this came across as a heads-up and not as a callout post. I know tone can be hard to read on the internet but please know the tone here is 'here's a heads-up in case you weren't aware' and not 'wow you suck'.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up! This is just my viewpoint and I'm sure everyone has different opinions, so take this with a grain of salt.

I think any bigot who thinks a random story about a fantasy species means I'm one of them would have to be reaching for the stars, and people like that will misinterpret anything on purpose tbh. I'd be much more worried about hurting/offending Jewish people because I care a lot more about them than assholes on the Internet. But!! I appreciate that you care about my reputation 💜

I promise that my lizardfolk are based on the DnD playable characters, and I think that's fairly obvious given the context of the blog. I've also written about goblins and some people say they have antisemitic roots too, but (and again, this is only my view) the modern take on them is so far removed that they're basically different things entirely.

someone has totally already said this but I've been thinking about it nonstop so here I go,,,

so it's a popular aphmau fandom theory that the characters are predisposed to have similar things happen to them in most lifetimes/universes (aph getting into intense relationship drama, zane and garroth - plus vylad - being troubled brothers, travis getting possessed by a demon)

and if you think about it, dante's 'thing' is getting left behind while everyone goes on a big adventure and they come back different. in mcd, obviously, aph tells him to stay and watch over the village, and Dante waits for 15 years while aph's group is in the irene dimension. When they come back, they are scarred and dante is 15 years older. there is a rift between Dante and all his old friends.

but the thing I don't see many people talking about is how THIS REPEATS IN MYSTREET! everyone on the street (but laurance, however Dante ignores him) leaves to Starlight and tells him they'll be back in no time, just 3 weeks. And they end up getting locked down, hunted, controlled, everything. Dante sits on a deserted street just waiting for his friends to come home while he gets more and more stir-crazy.

That's just dante's fate, to be left behind, waiting, while his loved ones get themselves killed and changed.

In season 7, I would love for there to be Dante angst (FINALLY) around everyone leaving him and coming back different. Especially Travis, his best friend and roommate, coming back absolutely traumatized.

If you like this observation, I would recommend 'Meanwhile On Mystreet' which is a rly good ao3 fic about Dante, laurance and friends trying to keep themselves occupied while everyone is on Starlight during Season 6.

I really love how each realm airi haruka and shizuku were in at the beginning of the Fun!! mv represents how they were struggling pre mmj main story! like shizuku as a giantess with how she was put on a pedestal in cheerful days and ended up isolated, airi in the mirror house with her reflection of her variety tv personality and how she felt like it was holding her back from her dreams of being an idol, haruka trapped in place by the vines representing how her stage fright and how she couldnt let herself go back onstage after what happened to mai. and it just means so much to me how minori was able to reach them and get them back to their dreams of being an idol, then when even minori had her own time of doubt with the stairs crumbling beneath her the rest of them jumped down to save her immediately and she's able to fly them even higher because of their support. i love you more more jump you will always be famous to me

I haven't seen anybody talk about it yet, so I just want to say that Bad helping Water munch level up was literally the sweetest thing ever. Like, I think her first impression of Bad was of him attempting to kill Zam, which isn't the best first impression you could have of someone lmao. But even so, he wasn't terrified of Bad when he visited the orange base later, which is nice.

I also found their conversation about death so interesting because I think Water is one of the few people that kind of understands Bad, ironically enough, despite being so new to the server. She knows he's dangerous, but he also helped her level up a ton today. And in doing so, made a new friend and strengthened Orange's alliance with Green.

Also, he was so sweet with Chip too!! I had a smile on my face the entire time. Literal serotonin boost omg. I really hope Water munch can log on the server again soon, and also hopefully at relatively the same time Bad is on so they can hang out more. Like aaaaa it was just such a nice time, especially considering Bad's current villainous reputation lmao.

I am in no means an expert and others have talked about this in other ways in other places, but here are some of the things I have been thinking about:

if you feel helpless right now the best thing you can do to start making any sort of progress is educating yourself. read books on fascism and propaganda and antiracism and history and protests. don’t give in to fear and don’t give up. that’s what they want us to do.

if you haven’t already, educate yourself on what your local government is doing. contact your representatives and make your voices and opinions heard wherever and whenever you can.

listen to people from marginalized communities, especially about when to speak up AND ALSO when to shut up and let them talk.

learn how to stand your ground and refuse to comply with fascism and authoritarianism. learn how to say “no, I am not going to do that” when you are told to do something that would harm others or society. and then actually say it. for those of us in privilege, this is especially on us.

know your rights. know the rights of your community and marginalized communities and be a voice for them whenever and wherever you can. don’t give in to defeat.

focus on building community. support mutual aid in your communities and in your city. support local businesses and artists and divest from supporting corporations that cause large scale harm.

don’t lose sight of what is happening elsewhere in the world. keep supporting palestine and palestinian fundraisers. don’t let your own fear make you give up on people who still need help so desperately.
