I've fucking cursed myself with an animatic idea that I never made and now any song that's about the way the internet fucks with ur psyche gets automatically associated with monika in my mind

#monika ddlc #doki doki literature club #the original idea was welcome to the internet by bo burnham and was mostly focused on her epiphany #and now ive got you liked this (okay computer!) by will wood and the internet has ruined me by wilbur soot on my list #the latter is funny bc im very opposed to animating her with a love song #i dont want to reduce a character arc about cosmic horror and derealization and the desperation for human connection down #to “girl sad boy dont love her so she kill girls boy love” thats so fucking lame #but i could make tihrm work #if i ever got MOTIVATION #but anyways. long rant i have many thoughts but dobt wanna derail my own post #thinking about like. monika discovering everything about our world through the internet and more importantly. social media #and so her worldview is gonna be warped by default #social media conditions people to view others not as people but as faceless entities #its not “10 000 people saw what you wrote and agreed with it/found it funny” its “your post got 10 000 likes”#its not that the person re arguinh with is a human influenced by their environment and upbringing its that theyre shitty by default #or alternatively its not that the person ur arguing with is someone with an influence on the real world its just a troll here to piss u off #things like doxxing. suicide baiting. threats of violence. child porn. theyre all things that we know are bad but happen regardless because #the internet is anonymous. its ok bc subconsciously the person isnt really human. theyre just another faceless user #this must affect how she views her friends #after all. theyre less than just users. theyre ai #it doesnt matter if theyre no different than her. it doesnt matter if the things shes doing are horrible #people on the internet have done similarly bad things to other humans. its fine. shes not a bad person. its fine.#deleting her becomes the equivalent of learning the stranger u sent gore to is your neighbor who uve had pleasant conversations with #the brutal realization that its not a faceless entity. its a human being you know and love. and youve done horrible things to them.#god i really need to make a video essay on this huh #if u read all of this character analysis mwah ily

🚨Crack theory🚨 but at first I was confused how Vi's death led to an alternate universe where everything is a utopia. Even if Hextech was never invented it doesnt explain how all the class disparity was solved. And then I realized it was probably this:

Vander and Silco are the only ones who really had a plan for a unified and independent Zaun. My theory: after the accident, Vander went into grief over the death of his daughter and stumbled pathetically into the arms of his ex-twink, finally apologized for trying to kill him that one time, they get back together and solve all poverty with the power of old man yaoi. (Also Silco stops making drugs at some point)

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #lan xichen #jin guangyao #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #qin su #EDIT: Tumblr published an earlier draft with only half the notes I wrote so: late entry on my JGY thoughts.#Unlike the mystic powers of the stockmarket (what the OG meme is referring to) I think this situation calls for more active investigation.#qin su is such a deeply tragic character to me and I really wish we got a bit more from her.#Love everyone who sent me messages about her after the last time she appeared.#I think she needs a spin off of her being a transmigrator SO badly.#MDZS has so many interesting characters - but it sometimes fails to give them the proper room to really develop past a role in the plot.#That's just the consequence of writing a story like MDZS. Not every character in a book *needs* to have a rich inner life and backstory!#To do so would bog down the story and obliterate any notion of pacing. It's just not possible.#Jin Guangyao (nee Meng Yao) is unfortunately not free from this leeway rule. He is the culprit of this murder mystery plot #and thus NEEDS to encapsulate the themes of the book. And personally he's a 7 out of 10 at best on this front (in the AD).#MDZS is about rumours twisting reality and working towards truth. And about how people & situations are rarely ever black & white #JGY has his motivations. He's well written in regards to his actions making sense for his character.#What started as good traits (drive to succeed & improve his image) became twisted over time (do anything to maintain his image)#and it's a good parallel to WWX! He has the same arc (with different traits)! Bonus points for IGY in that regard.#but man....by the time we confront this guy for murder there's not a lot of grey morality. He's just...deep in the hole *he* dug.#There's a beautiful tragedy to it! More on JGY in later comics - this is getting pretty long already!

highlights from this weekend:

taking a walk to the library and having a study date with my partner

slowly but surely catching up on the TAZ graphic novels

eating good food :)

finishing the chapter 7 labs in Practical Malware Analysis (I totally missed all the important bits of the third one, but the authors did say this was the hardest lab in the book so far 😅)

enjoying the beautiful weather and going birdwatching for a bit (fall migration has started! there are so many birds out rn omg)

#lobotomy corporation #lobcorp #angela lobcorp #benjamin lobcorp #lobotomy corp spoilers #technically? never sure what and what not to tag #its cute.. the idea of benjamin showing her how to tie it. someone else probably dressed her in the first place before she woke up so she #likely didnt know how before. and you know ayin's ass isnt going to do that. besides the tie is reminiscent to benjamin as well #small doodle. wanted to do more i might depending on if i get motivated but her perception would allow her to process it and probably to it #first try. would there be pride? the pride she was able to pick up on such a thing quickly? a promise for later on down the line she would #be able to adapt? perhaps a hope? along with maybe a pride on angelas end for being able to do so. a small joy of able to do it first try.#even if her slower perception granted her a privilege humans didnt. it wasnt so sore of a thing at the moment. the wounds of time and pains #werent as of a all encompasing torrent as the hell she would he sprung into would be. the small joy or pride when she tied it later knowing #the reaction and knowing she got it first try. how capable she was. then for it to fade into monotony and a motion to do. a void of what #used to be there. no one to see and only to remember only to ever remember when she sees the tie that had been so strikingly like his #its like.. the feeling when you were so excited about something maybe you think of being a little silly later. but then it becomes so gutted #and devoid of what used to be there new memories maybe soiling the past experience. only to be left with what a void that you knew had been #filled with a positive light. its not there anymore. 'first try?' what a joke. were now on a try of countless repeats that have lost all #meaning and any ability to even ascribe meaning to.#anyways its only short doodles because im trying to find it in me to make a carmy angela piece and a yesod one rn. little scuffed but i #wanted to draw benj of men and angie #... at least i think she woke up clothed. no damn clue . would make most sense for her to be #it would be a little tortuous if she wasnt. either ayin doing it himself filled with rage and what was created with his own hands that #could never even begin to contain her warm but a mimicry and mockery done by his own two hands #then having to get close and even speak. or order or look at. but if it was in that situation benjamin wouldve done it actually with ayin #just staring through the glass not very respondent as benjamin has to help her into something or tell her what to do. having the man he #followed and was faithful to just... standing there and silent as he tries to help someone confused and only just beginning to become #concious open their eyes for the first time. all in all she was likely clothed before hand. still a bit disconcerting. not even awake or #begining to think at that point all but a body but not even one of flesh but one mechanical and man made - a Doll. given aspects and clothes #benjamin likely gave her a tie at that moment there if she were to be clothed. maybe a small marking of work or pass down?
